Podatog: A Magic The Gathering Podcast
Ep. 8: More of the Best Cards of 2024 in MTG
[Music] Get toggin'. Alright, let's get fucking toggin'. [Laughs] She potted my toggin'. Hello and welcome to Tada Togg, where we pod toggs, togg pods, talk magic, talk pods, and talk shit about wonderful little pieces of cardboard. I am your illustrious host, Bugs Matrix, and with me is... Jordan Black, a.k.a. Dead Domain, and we absolutely need to rise and do that every single time we open the show from now on. Yep, it will be 100% verbatim. That is a Bugs Guarantee asterisk. You cannot trust him with God damn near anything in your life. Um, that being said, Jordan, how are you doing today? Ahhh! Alright, give me a second. Um, okay, hang on. I fucked up my recording a second. Um, okay. Give me a second. And here to prevent that is me, producer Rosa, host of Come Posting. Okay, okay. Yeah, I am... Yeah, no, we have a... we have a Rosa now, and she'll be providing technical assistance because, um, as you all know, we are nothing if not the most professional little gremlins here at Pottatog. Yeah, you see that one with me? Which is why nobody will know what just happened because I was not technically recording that part, so... Well, that fuck up staying in, just so you're eternally reminded why you need me. Anyway, uh, continue. Yeah, I think I was just, uh, asking, uh, Jordan, how are you doing today? I am... you know, it's... it's been... I'm... okay, Bugs, I'm in my unhinged deck building era, and I thought I was in my unhinged deck building era like a couple weeks ago. But I have... I've fully discussed myself and... You're getting into silver border cards? Uh, okay, I'm almost there. I'm almost in my un... I just said unhinged, not my un-era, but I am... I... like, the two decks that I built most recently are Mona Red Vampires. And, uh, is it zombies, which works stupid well? Oh, you got others... There's that, uh, please tell me about is it zombies? So, is it zombies, uh, is... you don't really have graveyard recursion, right? So, you're playing zombies without graveyard recursion, which is weird, but you do have, because of red and blue, a lot of spell recursion. So, what you can do is you can have enchantments and spells, like Necroduplicate, uh, or things like, oh, I'm forgetting the... The one that lets you build a copy of, uh, artifact and non-artifact creatures. And so, it's basically zombie tribal, but you are making and manufacturing new copies of the zombies. Um, and it's, it's like, kind of zombie spell-slinger in a really dumb way, the way I've constructed it, but I really, I really enjoyed doing it. And so, like, that's kind of been my... the, the, the pulse on where I'm at lately, as far as just fun things I've been doing. Fantastic, hold on. I do need to ask if, um, a certain card is in there. Are you familiar with, uh, Rise from the Tides? Perhaps from the Tides, that's the one you could create a 2/2 zombie for each instant and sorcery? Yes, I do, right. So, it is very, like, it is very heavy. Um, it's basically an Anastrad-like tribute deck. Uh, I would be curious to see how, like, some phoenixes might work in that. Like, if you have cards that care about, like, creatures leaving the yard. Ooh, interesting. That'll just, I mean, if you grated, like, leaning into, like, the zombie, like, kindred of it all, is probably more the move. But I kind of love, like, what are phoenixes, if not, like, kind of pretty zombies, you know? Uh, I don't know if anybody else has ever said that, but I guess I kind of see your point? I, uh, I also, uh, on, on the subject, because pretty much the only red zombies are from Ammon Cat. Uh, and they all have, or a lot of them have, like, group and amassing mechanics, which makes, like, the biggest thickens. Yeah, like, which makes the tribalism of it very, very funny. Um, I had a crazy stupid combo I will share with you later, because it's like, it took a lot of work to get to, and it was, like, five parts, but it worked, and the, the game ended because I gave all my zombies, like, plus five, plus five. Oh my god. And then, yeah. Oh, it was dumb. There's some cool blue, uh, zombie support in War of the Spark 2, if you haven't checked that out. I will have to check that out, because I'm, I'm basically going through all of my Ina Strad stuff. And yeah, like, like I said, I've been in an unhinged era, so I, I told you about my incredibly dumb Kamagawa spirit deck. Yes. Uh, that is Tonsenari toad writer, and then a bunch of, like, arcane and splice new arcane and shines. Yeah. Fucking zubera. I have three zubera in the deck, which is a very funny thing. Because, like, I will 2025. Yeah, my goal with decks is not necessarily, it is to win, like, in a, in a grand sense. I'm not just, like, playing with the hopes of losing. Yeah. But the, the, my criteria for selecting cards has a lot to do with the kind of looks it will get from people when I show them the card, and they have to reach across the table and look at it, and they don't recognize the set symbol. And that's really the five I'm going for. That or just, like, I, I love when I cast something and the whole table's, like, I haven't thought about this card in 15 years. Oh, exactly. Yeah. I got to, I got to, when my, my Kamagawa deck is great, because it is, like, maybe a third cards from 2004 and 2005. Oh, and it's a lot of commons, like, uh, Briernet Kami that nobody's ever heard of, but I was going to be a house. The Briernet Kami. I think, I think it's Briernet Kami. I'm pretty sure I'm not making that up. Let me. Nope. I'm not. All right. You'd love the original Briernet Kami. Is that, that the one I'm thinking of? No, there's another one. Oh, god damn it. The one I'm thinking of is a little wumpus. He's a little guy. A little guy. All right. I'm going to look it up on Scryfall. You. Oh, is he, um, I'm seeing Briernet Kami's, uh, three and a pair of trees for a three, three that, oh, you know what? That's not bad. Uh, whenever you, no, that's not, that's not the boy. That's not the lad. Um, I'm scrolling through. I'll find him real quick. I promise this makes for such great listening. Oh, um, Petalmain Baku is the name. Petalmain Baku. Baku. How do you spell that? B-A-K-U. Petalmain as in a lion's man. Oh, Petalmain, Petalmain Baku. Oh, look at that man, buddy. Oh my god. He's a weird little shrub boy. And the great part is that, like, there's a lot of weird synergy with old Kamagawa and new Kamagawa that you might not think of because pretty much so much of those sets were like spirit and arcane. I was going to say, like, so much of the spirits, like, oh, yeah, no, there's spirits all over the new Kamagawa. And a lot of those spirits care about enchantments. So like, it's this weird spirit, arcane enchantment, splicey arcane enchantment. It's a very stupid deck. I also have one, Molteni. Of course. Of course. Because the, the tatunari toad writer's ability is it makes that, that, that card in particular, tatunari toad writer and a, a frog you control, not that is any specific one. Yeah, that is a frog. It is a, it is a frog spirit. It is a frog spirit specifically. So it's actually super on flavor. Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, it's time that sometimes it got a bergal. Yeah. Anyway, that's, that's been, I've my bizarre journeys through what's the most unhinged nonsense I can make has been going just so well. I'm on my stupid ship. When are you not? Well, yeah, it's fair. But I built mono green jet mirror the other day. Mono green jet mirror? Yeah, it's jet mirror, but it's all fall. So is it just elves? Yes, it's just elves. It's just elves and forests. And I have to jump through so many hoops to actually cast jet mirror. I, so you don't, is it just like, like, how are you, how are you casting him? Is it like, um, I've got, you know, like a utopia sprawl type shit, like, okay, or, um, I forget if I broke, no, I, I thought about it, but I'm like, no, that's too easy. I thought about including, um, Ava since pilgrim in there, but I'm like, no, that's a human. That's a human. That's not an elf. Can't come in. Um, unfortunately, see, I'm in the exact same camp because I'm recently made an elf deck. And I find elf decks too easy, I guess. Oh, I mean, like, I, there's no hoof in this because hoof's not an elf. I think there's an overrun. Um, I did put the new, uh, Foundations card preposterous proportions into it. That's a very good one. I love the art. I love the art on that for those who haven't seen the card yet. It makes some big squirrels. Um, and like, ideally, I, I hope to one day resolve that with jet mirror on the field and just turn everything into a, you know, 16, 16 double striking, trampling, vigilant shithead. So I mean, speaking of big stompies, that brings me to one of my other incredibly unhinged decks I made. And I actually, after some adjustments, managed to make work. Are you familiar with Galta and maverin? Oh, am I, I love a vampire, dino combo piece. And I use that dino combo piece to make a deck that is exclusively vampires and dinosaurs. Good. Good. Good. And also things like, you know, I don't know, doubling season and, uh, what's the, the Ascension one that, uh, Masters Ascension? No, no, it's the white card that, uh, it's basically white doubling season where it gives you. Oh, oh, oh, oh, Jesus. Why I can see it. Like not path of Ascension, rights of Ascension. Yeah. Anyway, it's, it's, you know, the token doubler, the, the, the model. Exactly. Exactly. So I have that and I have, uh, parallel lives, which is basically doubling season without doubling counters. And I have doubling season in there. I had a very, very funny thing. Are you also familiar with for the greater good? Speaking of, of cards, we'll probably talk about today. For the greater good. Is that, that's from Bloomberg. Correct. It is a Bloomberg. Rare. Is that, that is a Bloomberg. Rare. Correct me. If I'm wrong, that, uh, makes X copies of, like, X X copies of X tokens you control. It does indeed. So I had a very, very funny time, uh, where I made a copy of Galta, that was 12 12. Oh, uh, and non legendary. And then I made, I think it was 14 12 12s in a single turn. Yep. All with trample, uh, which was dinosaurs and vampires do do some work. I'm yeah. Honestly, for the greater good has like some weird synergy. I feel like with, or like weird flavor synergy with, um, that deck just because it also has life gain stapled to it for God knows what reason. Mm hmm. Exactly. And, you know, speaking of Bloomberg cards, I think now would be a great time to start, uh, picking up where you left off talking through, um, a couple of my favorite cards from each set from this year, which, uh, when I pitched that, I'm like, there's only a couple sets that came out this year, right? No, it took us two and a half hours to just get through a little over half of them. And so we are, uh, on my favorite plane of all time now, frankly, um, Bloomberg all time. That is high praise. It's, I, just to like wax briefly, like there, there are a couple of planes that I like really, really, really fucking love. Like, I love trickier. I love mered and I love new for exia. It counts. Um, but the plane where you go and become a little guy, like, like, like, you can't not be a little guy when you go there. That's so charming. And like, I don't know, I also just love like, um, structurally or like design-wise. I think that it's such a new player friendly plane that like this is my, if I want to teach people how to play basic kitchen table magic, these, uh, 10, like, creature archetypes are just so immediately, uh, groccable. And it's an, in each card, it has just the most charming of names, um, which brings me to one of my favorite cards of the year, a card that I have never not smiled when I cast. Um, I want to talk about hop to it for a second. Hop to it is a banger. Hop to it is perfect. Three mana sorcery. What's it do? It makes three rabbits. That's it. You're just gonna hop to it. We're gonna hop to it. We're gonna make some guys. We're gonna hang out. Like, I, I do kind of wish they were like, multi-typal rabbits. Like, if they were like, rabbit warriors, but then you start getting like warrior synergy and stuff. And that's like, pain us, um, or even like rabbit citizens. Like, but that being said, like, the art is so beautiful and charming and just those three little guys bouncing around. Like, like, what's not to, what's not to love? I get some dudes. I get some bungies. And speaking of bungies and getting dudes, uh, on the same topic of great white cards from Bloomberg, I think my first pick would be caretakers talent. Oh, Jesus. Yeah, which is such a like, like when, when Bloomberg first dropped, it was caretakers talent in keepers talent. And I think those two still are still the best of the talent cycle. And they are such houses. Uh, they, they have done so much work for me and arena. And I still like, they, they've become, if I have any kind of token play in a deck, caretakers talent is going in there. It's, it's a little bit of card draw and it's token support. Like, like, what more do you want? And like, it's such fairly costed for like each of the level ups. Like, also, I love, I love that they brought back classes for this. Like, I think this is the first time classes have ever been in a standard set. If I recall correctly, the only other time we've seen them was in, um, it was in the forgotten realms. Yeah. Yeah. And just like, again, the world building that we're getting with this, it's like, here's like, this has very little to do with like, the combat step. Um, like all of the art, like depictions are of just very like, they're very domestic scenes. Um, they're, they're just like little guys with their hobbies. Yeah. It's, it's just like little vignettes. Like I, I love it. Caretakers talent. So fucking, and like, and in keepers talent and Jesus fucking, yeah, we're just gonna, I'm going to move on to that right now. I feel like, I feel like we could, okay, yeah, let's, let's hop around because I have so many, I'm just looking through white and I'm looking at like, there's so many great cards in this set. Tomped about like, I could probably do an entire, um, like bonus pod, just gushing about Bloomberg because there is not a single card in here that I do not like. Well, okay. I wouldn't go that far. I would have my, I mean, I think there's some cards there's some cards that are not great cards, but even the ones that aren't great cards, I'm like, yeah, awesome. Raccoon rallyer. What's it do? Well, Raccoon rallyers is a banger. Raccoon rallyers great, but like, like it's, it's not like game breaking problem. It's just, it's, it's, it's, am I calling you deck? Yeah, of course it is. Yeah. That and I have a goblin that does the same thing and I have the bloodlust insider, which does the exact same thing. I have my call you deck. If I have a land enchantment that allows you to tap and give a creature haste, that's like there. There are seven different ways to, to make sure that call you can attack the second she comes out. Right. Well, yeah, because otherwise she's dead on site, but yeah, card that you can't put in Kali unfortunately in keeper's talent. What the fuck? What the fuck is this card? Like plus one plus ones? Yeah. Would you like a, would you like a plus one plus one with your plus one plus one? Would you like even more plus one plus ones constantly? Like I also fucking insane that they, they dropped this. Like what only technically the next main set right after Thunder Junction, which had shit like railway brawler and yeah, Bruce Lee fucking bill. And it's also like I, the fact that it says if you would put one or more counters on a permanent or player, put twice as many. Um, did you, did you ever run into the, uh, the Vraska, the Frexianized Vraska combo deck with this? Oh, no, but that. Yeah. Yeah. No, because you get, you get in keeper's talent all the way, like I just leveled up. You slam down, alter immediately. Oh yeah, you, you don't got it. You don't got to tell me because I like, I just got chills on my arm. Like I just had the same visceral reaction I used to when I was like 12 and I saw a picture of Megan Fox like that. That's, oh, that's so good. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's, I'm thinking about building, um, some sort of abs and poison, uh, like infect deck, like, um, probably the exhale, um, sign of a track sub, but like not anything that's in the precon or maybe there probably some overlap of what's in the precon, but like, um, because there's some good shit and there's some good infectable guys. But, um, yeah, giving everything like double strike, infect, trample, like, like, just trying for the hordes with this thing online. Mm hmm. Oh my God. Anyway, I'm a super normal and fun, personally magic with this. Well, and the thing I think they're so great about Bloomboro that makes it so balanced is it has those really great combo pieces. And it also has like, like, we've been talking about little guys that work across a spectrum from absolutely big haymaker punches to literally things like one of my favorites, iridescent vine lasher. Oh, oh, yeah. Oh, which, especially in standard. Oh, you're able to cast with offspring is fucking gross. I've told you about my standard deck that I run it in, right? Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Sultile landfall is rugged. Yeah. With a side of Simic burn. Like it is the fucking vine lasher. I mean, okay, that also great segue into, uh, or like tangent, I guess, um, offspring offspring is one of my favorite new mechanics. It's such a cute mechanic. I cannot wait to see future cards with it. Like I, I don't know if it'll be like a, like, just like, like a Bloomboro only. I don't know if it'll be like a Bloomboro only mechanic, and it'll be like, maybe it'll pop up every now and then in, uh, you know, like a commander set or, you know, I'd like to see horizons, but I would like to see them in the space opera set. I would like to see if there's like an alien, like a Tyranid or a Xenomorph species. I would like to see some kind of offspring mechanic there. I think that would be cool. Oh, I would love to see that and I'll raise you one more. Um, I'm pulling for like some cute robots with offspring. I would love to see. Okay. Like, like robots swarm that like it's, it's R2D2, but he's got a little guy inside him that can pop out. Okay. Okay. Like, well, on, on the subject of offspring, uh, we could, well, okay. Let's, let's talk about our favorite cards with offspring first because I also want to talk about expend. Yep. Um, before we get to expend, um, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the stage, the war and war leader. I'm looking at him right now. You don't got to tell me about him. I don't know about this guy by fucking the goat. He's, I was able to draft a war and war leader and, um, in, in keeper's talent and a finius. Mm hmm. Um, well, and I need you to talk about, before we get too far into the war leader himself, I need everybody podcast listener out there. I need you to stop. Whatever you're doing right now, however you're feeling, however day is going, I need you to stop and I need you to Google the war and war leader token. Oh, I need you to see his, so my little guy, my little guy with his little bonk stick. He's so ready for battle. I found a shiny one at a card shop and like almost started crying with joy. I is so perfect. He is the absolute boy, the absolute boy, the man, the myth, the legend, the absolute mench war and war leader offspring token. That is maybe the best card in the set. Um, I'm going to, I'm going to just, oh my God, I love my son. He deserves nothing but happiness. And he also does heinous shit just like his mom. So don't forget about you. You know about speaking of Bloomberg tokens. Are you familiar with prosperous bandit? I don't think so actually. Yeah, just look at prosper. Spand it token. Oh, oh my God, buddy, little guy. Oh, oh, oh my God. Look at it. Just, just a little bean. Like the keys that is. Oh my God. He's so cute. Is that, oh, that's a commander card. Okay, that's why I'm like, I have never heard of the prosperous bandit. Yeah. Yeah. That's from the raccoon commander. Anyway, sorry, I've, I've gotten us so far a few from no, we're talking about little guys and the tokens that they make. But yeah, so the war and war leader is also just one of my favorite casting costs. It's two and two white. Um, just like one of the best cards ever printed here of bladehold or Mondrak glorious Dominus. Um, or plenty of other heinous things you can do. Wrath of God. Um, it's a, it's a great, it's a very fair casting cost. Cause when you, when you land something like this, the game is about to change. Um, and I love that, and especially if you get this thing with offspring got off spring to and, Oh my God, whenever you attack, choose one, create a one, one rabbit creature token that's tapped in attacking or attacking creatures you control will get plus one plus one until end of turn. Or if you've offspringed, choose both or choose double down on one, make two little bungies or give everything amount plus two plus two, like the amount of times I've gone from like a losing board state to playing this with offspring and arena and suddenly having a, a like stack of one, one bunnies that are now just these three, three menaces. Yep. Yep. Like it is, it is warping. It is a warping fucking card that makes the best token ever. Um, honestly, I don't, I don't know any other like offspring for me that hits us hard, except for actually, I'm going to take that back. Let me tell you about my buddy. Uh, what is his name? I believe, and I want to get it wrong tender wild guide. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, who is basically, uh, kind of a like for, for four, that's just two mana pips right there. Yeah. And it's, uh, any of any color or you can do, um, honestly, getting into the habit of, uh, on your opponent's end stuff, just tapping him to grow him a little bit. Mm hmm. Like he's not bad. Mm hmm. That's it. He's, he's a good boy. He's a good boy for sure. Very good boy. His beat sticks are more walking sticks. They aren't Bob sticks, but I'll take it. I got, I'm just going through all these cards again. And I'm like, I have, I've gone through so much bloomboro draft chaff. And there's so many cards that I'm like, eh, these are, these might be good for a cube. These might be good for like, if I ever do a tribal thing, but like, eh, but I, I do forget how many legit bangers there are. There, there is, uh, so much heat in the set. All right. I think you've got yours, then mine, then yours again. And then I think we need to, we should just mose down down to dusk more. And otherwise, we will be here all day. I, okay. So I'm between Maha and Yigra. Well, I was going to talk about Yigra. So we can, uh, we can talk about both right now. You know what? Actually, instead of Maha, sorry, Maha's wonderful, but everybody knows Maha. I'm going to talk about the rotten mouth viper. I'm out of my fucking killing stuff. My sweet baby boy, who I, so my fun draft story of this is during pre-release, I was fortunate enough to draft two of him. No, six packs. Yep. No, no, oh, no, no, I had multiple, multiple games where somebody would take care of the one. And I would have the other in hand and cast it. Yeah. The thing with rotten mouth viper is that it is, like in commander, he's a lot easier to deal with, but in a standard format, if you can get him out, he is one of the most oppressive cards I've seen in a minute. Yeah. Um, I, I most recently played against this thing at CubeCon in, um, that vintage power cube. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like this, this thing's, oh my God. Like if you're, if you're generating a big board state and can just, because you can sack any type of non-land permanent and this set makes so many fucking tokens, um, to reduce his casting cost. And so like at worst, you're getting an at rate, like six, mana, six, six with, um, oh, and it's on enter to Jesus fuck God. Yeah. No, this thing's gnarly. Yep. Whenever it enters or attacks for, and, and it's, it's cumulative. So for each blight, blight counter on it, each opponent loses for life unless they sacrifice a non-land permanent or just card a card. It is. Yeah. It is the most you, like you need to, uh, it, in like Jesus in limited, I don't even know how you deal with that. Mm-hmm. Like you, you have to have that. Well, I could tell you, you can do with it with one of the best, uh, kill spells and this set, which is fell. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can fell it. You can fell it. Like like they, they have some rough stuff to deal with in the set. Uh, they have maha. They have sun spine links, like the, the elemental creatures get heavy, but they, they do give you even within the set. Some, some pretty good. Yeah. There's good. There's good removal for the big guys. Like that's my biggest critique of the set is there's a lot of good removal for big guys, but like piss poor removal for the little guys, um, which is why like, yeah, there aren't a lot of board wipes are there. Not a lot of board wipes. Not a lot of, uh, like there's a lot of things that ping for like one, but I don't even think we have like a real dedicated shock on rate. Um, and so it, in my experience, at least if you're on, if you're on bunnies, like, if you can just keep the pressure up, you will, you will not have much of a problem, but Jesus Christ, potty mouth viper. Like, I love him. Fucking curse snake dick shit. Fucking I, he's great. I, I have never personally cast one. I've only played against them. Um, it's a, it's a moment as somebody who has, again, has two of them that I run index. Um, it is a moment where you become the problem very quickly. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Oh god. I'm, I'm, I completely forgot about all the great, well, you're going to talk about Yigra so we can get into some of the legendaries after that. Yeah. Yeah, I gotta, um, that was my pre-release powerhouse was Yigra, Yter of all. Um, and I got to say turning like, um, artifact wipes into kill spells feels, uh, pretty damn good. It is, it's, it's such, it's such a fun card. It's so flavorful. It goes really well. Another thing goes well with, and I haven't seen anybody I've been actually considering making this because I, I like Golgari, but I, I want to make something that's unique in Golgari. Yeah. I think Yigra with a lot of the food and like gingerbread cards from wilds of Eldraine because a lot of those. Yeah. Sweet tooth scourge is another Golgari card. There's like multiple gingerbread men that are like in green or colorless like would go great with that. Oh, plus if you get like a bunch of the, um, halflings from Lord of the Rings. Oh hell yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, you put, um, the mono green marion pippens in this and, and an academy manufacturer. Cause fuck it. Gross. Gross. Yeah. Yigra eating pretty good. I mean, his one drawback, thank, and thank God for this is, um, he is just a meatball. Like he turns into the biggest dumbest idiot this side of fountain port, but, um, with no evasion, but yeah, and it's obviously so hard to give things evasion in Golgari and commander. Um, oh yeah, no, that's super hard to do. Yeah. It's never Rancor. Who is she? Um, but like, yeah, Yigra, just big beefy cat son. Oh my God. Oh God. Playing that thing was, uh, like it's a very Timmy E card and I love that for everyone. Well, and it brings me to the thing I, one of the things that I'm most, uh, happy about with, especially compared to Duskborn, but I think the Bloomberg legendaries are all pretty much bangers. Yeah. Like, like I was just saying, like Yigra, I, I'm, I'm getting a great deck idea for Yigra right now of Ren, my rat deck. I don't, I don't, that, that is the rat commander to me. Yeah. That's, that's the one you play. Uh, if you're, if you're playing rats, um, Mera, Mera people slept on Mera. I've seen people do so many fun things with Mera trash tactician. Oh my God. Oh yeah. And that's, that's got to expend on it. If you want to gush about expensive second, well, and I'm not even like a huge expend fan. I just think it is a really, it is a very fun, tribal, um, kind of ability. And I, it's, it's one of those things that I'm going to be bummed if it gets, you know, forgotten on the stack, uh, so to speak, and in the scrum for whether it's to continue and always have new things to, to come up with. Cause I think it is something that has a lot of, a lot of potential, um, and especially with things like, um, raccoons, which were these kind of like bigger, meteor, uh, like you, you had to expend a decent amount. Yeah. Like you're, you're able to worry, you're, it rewards you for doing stompy shit. Yeah. And, and like, so it just gives you little things to tick off. I think it would be fun to see that in other colors, like in colors that you might not usually spend quite as much for, um, in another set. I think I, I just think it's a really unique idea. I like the way it was executed here. I never, I never really built anything around it, but I just always thought it was cool. And I, I hope it comes back at some point. It's so sick. Like God, and especially like in green red and this set, like there's just so many big, stupid, fun things to cast. Oh boy. Hugs. Hugs is a great one. Yep. Oh my God. Hugs. Mable. Oh god. Yeah. This, I, another thing, uh, I really like the Orzov tribal bats. I think those are very fun. And then, but like the Azorius birds in this set. Stupid, stupid. Yeah. Oh, I've, I've played against several either entirely flying decks or whether it was in standard or in commander that have a lot of the cards, uh, especially, I'm looking at casserole right now. Oh yeah. You have any kind of blue, white flying tribal, like God damn. Yeah. They get so out of hand so quickly after like turn three or four. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I guess that's the one thing though, is it's after turn three or four. And this is such a fast format that like, I like my, my most experience with, uh, Bloomberg was, has been through limited. And so I'm like, because like, otters are also really fun when like, if you can get it going. Yep. Yep. Nutty. But like, it's those bunnies. It's those bunnies in the mice. Bunnies and mice. And if you're playing in standard, um, lizards with a lot of the shit from the Thunder Junction, like, yeah, you are unfortunate enough to get stuck with like, uh, what's that one? The fuck asked lizard that like, Mr. steal your shit? No, that one too. Um, I'll find him, but there's one that as it might be valley flame collar. That's um, valley flame collars, uh, in here as a bloom burrow. Yeah. Oh, maybe it was kindle spray. Anyway. Um, oh, no, it was hired claw. That's what it is. Whenever you attack with one or more lizards deals one damage to target opponent. Yeah. And then you put counters on it. Yep. Uh, for a one drop and then you have, like, if you are playing in standard, somebody's going to have if they're playing red, they're going to have like slick shot show off. And yeah, it's just going to be a nightmare to deal with. Yep. Yeah. Oh my God. I, we could talk forever about the set, but I do think we should move on to dusk more. And if we want to get through three more sets plus the other couple topics we've been thinking about. Yeah. Cause we, we do need, um, I'm looking to see if there's anything else I really love. I love mockingbird. That's a fun one. Like bale and the haymakers fucking sick. Like that's bale and bale and go stupid hard. Holy shit. That's why this is like my favorite fucking set of the year. Like there's no card that doesn't at least kind of excite me. I also think, uh, another one that I think is kind of slept on in heavier formats a season of the burrow. Oh, yeah. Especially if you're, if you are running any of that bunny or token generation, like you X being able to exile two shit, two things that a target player controls and get a bunny. Great. Not bad. Not bad. Another just complete game changer. Yeah. All right. But yes, we can, we can move on to my favorite. Uh, I get made fun of for loving dusk more and as much as I do. That's frustrating because I think it's a cool set. Like it doesn't. Yeah, I think it wins more for me than it misses. Yeah. But like broadly speaking, I think that it's, it's a sick as hell. Sick as hell. So I, it is one of, it is a set that like there are sets that I open packs and if I don't get a good rare, if I don't get like a full art land, I'll just be like, man, what, what did I, why, why did I do this? But dusk morning is a set that I'm like, you know what, I will probably find a place for some of these cards, whether that's in a cube for flavor reasons, whether that's in, uh, like a beside or a sideward. Like I was, we were talking about earlier, but all of the enduring, uh, the glimmer cycle. Oh my, every single one of those whips. They're incredible. Like they are great value. The fact that they like stay on the board. Yeah. So good. Oh my God. Yeah. No, like, I mean, at least for me, um, what's that? Oh my God. Why am I spacing on its name? Um, I think about innocence. Oh, and it's great. Enduring innocence is, um, fucking gross, especially, um, with the way that it supports the like creatures of power to or less. Like this is such a good little like white weenie card to like we're gonna have to talk about like enduring innocence, comboed with Arabella and yeah, midnight mayhem, the, the gremlin one. Oh yeah, the one that makes a bunch of a gram, hasty grem ones. Mm hmm. Yeah. Go roast. That's, oh my God. Yeah. No, I think, um, okay. Actually, just why don't you talk a little bit about like why this set works as well for you? I love like, I love spooky shit. I love all the horror themed sets. And I think the, the, the overall aesthetic for me is not necessarily the problem so much. I get a lot of people don't like the kind of, I love the, the VHS E, um, like very retro, almost vapor wavy kind of 80s horror aesthetic. I don't hate it as much as a lot of people do because I think a lot of people would see some of the stuff like the ghost vacuum and they're like, oh, it's just Ghostbusters or they see some of the, the more 80s iconography and they're like, oh, it's just stranger things, but it doesn't really commit in any one of those directions too much. And the things that I get from it are more like, it's the more strange surreal, uh, almost silent hilly horror that I love. Yeah. Where especially when it comes to the monster and creature designs, which are so unlike anything else in magic, I love the non-human creature designs in this so much. Like that is, oh my god, all of the different, uh, like the different fear ofs or the, the overlord cycle. Like they're just, yeah, like they're these very like, they seem very like 80s, 90s, like video game, uh, monster inspired more than anything else. And so like, yeah, like Silent Hill is so apt because it's just like these, I'm looking at a silent haul creeper and it's just this big, freaky, gaunt looking skeleton fuckhead dude that's just like so proportionally wrong. And I'm like, yeah, that would chase me down the halls of like an abandoned hospital. Absolutely. Exactly. And, and I love like appendage amalgam is another great one. Oh, yeah. I love so much of the art. Mine skin, mine skinner is very fun, very funny. I love so much of the art. I think the art is perfectly evocative of this like kind of intangible bizarre space, like looking at something like liver dye. Yeah, I think it is just, it is so flavorful. I think so many of the cards, especially in the uncommon and common are ridiculously slept on things like one of my favorite, like a card that legitimately makes every game a little bit more fun. No matter when you play it is sporogenic infection. Remind me of. So when you you enchant a creature, another player controls, and they have to sacrifice a creature other than the enchanted creature, it's up to them. And then when that enchanted creature's dealt damage, it's destroyed. That's so fun and goofy. Like there are so many little ones like that that put other players on the back foot, but not in a way of necessarily being incredibly unfair or oppressive, although there is some shit like that, but in a way it forces people to adapt in interesting ways. Yeah, yeah, no, like they are just they're fun little, it feels like, yeah, it's weird little haunted house shit. God, actually, I'm just liking it scryfall right now, the card right next to sporogenic infection, the unholy annex slash ritual chamber, because let's if we're talking about like cool shit that's been introduced this year. Rooms? Oh, so good. Rooms? Fucking. Oh my God, I was I did not think that I was going to be as high on like these as a card type and then like testing them during pretty early some like these feel incredible to cast. So I would on the subject of rooms and loving rooms, I would guide you to one of my favorite legendary creatures from the set, because I also think the legendaries are kind of slept on, especially as commanders. Yeah, do a lot of people play winter and commander? I haven't seen anyone do it yet. And I think but I'm this is a pro winter podcast. It's winter if you're free, call me. I love winter. People do not like me playing winter. It is it is what they don't like. They don't like hand hate. They don't like hand hate. It gets very quick. Yeah, you can get to like one card, one card hands. Yeah. But my one of my favorite commanders speaking of rooms is Marina Vendrelle. Oh my God. I have built now three entirely different commander decks all featured around Duskmore. Marina Vendrelle is what walk with me here. Yeah. Duskmore enchantment rooms slivers. Oh, oh, and it works specifically because her ability. So Marina Vendrelle blinks constantly. And because she's five colors, that's not a problem getting stuff that can make her blink. But I needed something tribal that would go together without necessarily needing a certain card if I had to discard it, because what her ability is, and I have like 16 or 17 of the rooms, room cards in that deck, you reveal the top seven cards of your library, put all enchantments from among them into your hand and the rest on the bottom. And then you can unlock or lock a door of target room, which is so much more busted than like being able to get like repeated, like enter effects off some of these rooms is heinous. No, she's such a it's pretty raw. It's pretty raw. That's oh my God. And just like, yeah, like slivers. I love that just because it's like, and then slivers are going to sliver. But a it being kind of like a secret, like, ha ha slivers now. I think is a very fun thing to do at a table and also like not having a super busted sliver in the command zone. I think it was it was the best of both worlds because I had put aside Marina Vendrelle. I was like, this would be a dumb thing to make a commander. And I had been trying to find a sliver commander that wasn't just a fucking awful nightmare that made everybody hate me. So it worked. Yeah, I mean, it's there's only so many times you can play this at different tables before everyone's like, don't it's a sliver deck. Trust me, no, it's not just going to be enchantress. It's going to be slivers run. And then if I could have one more moment, of course, to talk about my sweet little NB baby Nico light of hope. Oh my god. I I Nico is a such a wonderful card. And almost nobody I feel knows about this mythic and what they do. Because I have I have a Nico, another a dusk morn commander tech. That is all Nico. And it is all blinking all the time. And what that does is people people don't really know what shards do. But if I can steal somebody else's big stompy, for example, or if I can play something like, Oh God, what is. I think this is the one I did. Yeah, are you familiar with Sarah avatar? Yeah. Yeah. So if you play Sarah avatar, a non legendary creature, where the power and toughness are equal to your life total, and say you act, I don't know, you have like teleportation circle and OG and displacement or kitten in your your Nico decks. So you're blinking them three or four times a turn making two shards each time. Yeah. And then for a mere two mana, you create and let's say you've had some, you know, life chipped off. So you're at like 30 health. For two mana, you can create, let's say, 20, 30 30s. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. It is. Oh, there's it's such a. Because it's it's one of those things where like, I think that you can kind of become the threat out of nowhere with Nico and commander, because like, they just don't seem that threatening. Yeah. Like you're just you're just building shards and people do not as as somebody who has become the threat with Nico and commander multiple times. Let me tell you, people don't see it coming. No, no, it's it's I'm just doing some I'm just doing I'm doing a zerius flicker shit. Look, I have a flicker wisp. Look, I have an abdell Adrian, like it's not like, yeah, it's in just make just make some guys getting a little, it's just value. We're hanging out. Blight still glosses. Oh, I should put a Blight still glosses in there. God, I'm just going down. I love so many of these. Like, so the thing the thing I really love about Duskmore and we can talk about dread and delirium and all that stuff, but it is they they managed to make a feeling of apprehension or a feeling of or this this kind of thrilling feeling of a chase or, you know, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, like a part of so many of these cards where things can just change on a dime. It puts you on the back foot with things like unstoppable slasher. Oh my God. And Voguevoth. Unstoppable slasher. And I think those those kind of put like both of the different tones you were describing like like those are the pulls where it's you've either got like this, this thing that's like it hits the board early and it's coming for you. It's fucking coming for unless you take care of it. And even if you take care of it, have you really taken care of it? Have you double tapped? Like you're going to need to use two fucking fells to get rid of this thing or Voguevoth where it's all of a sudden like the fucking most arch demon ass looking freak getting, you know, resurrected out of nowhere. And and the most heinous part? I say, I say heinous. The most beautiful part of this is that the entire set seems to be constructed around being able to with things like my best friend possessed goat, being able to discard heavies like Voguevoth or doomsday excruciating or vile mutilator. Yeah. And then using things like Voguevoth's faithful and oh, what's the other one? There's another black spell that lets you draw stuff back or a birth from the cocoon. Yeah, emerge from the cocoon. That for like five, you can cheat in Voguevoth basically. Yeah. And it's heinous. Like I, I love how much love there is for the yard in this set. Like just delirium is one of my favorite mechanics. Just like as as a heinous graveyard player, I like putting different things in the yard and then deciding what I want to get back out. And you familiar with say its name, right? Oh, yes. Yes, I am. Oh my god. I love the design of this card so much. Like I love a sort of like, you know, like flavor fleets. Like, oh, we're summoning like a Beetlejuice type situation. First of all, like that's just so fucking fun. Second of all, it let's gammill. Third of all, it is not a good card for commander. Like I love, I love a legendary creature that just is intentionally designed for limited or constructed because Altenock, the thrice called like, yeah, you can run run them as your commander. I don't really care. Like a seven man, a nine nine with trample. If you're like, yeah, I'm on Altenock mono green Voltron. Like, I love that for you. But kind of with that, honestly. Yeah, like it's, it's fun. But if it's like, no, we're just, I'm just like pitching this thing. Like, unless you can get him back from the your library, your hand, or your graveyard. Like it just slammed this haymaker onto the battlefield and like, oh my good golly god damn gosh, it feels great to resolve just through the say its name pitching. Like, I what the fuck, you know, like, oh, that's so fucking heck. Oh, you got to talk about rescue bestie. Oh, oh, I want to talk about the beasties, uh, just kind of really broadly for a second. Well, okay, so I want to say before you get to into that, yes, not enough beasties, not enough gremlins. Oh, we, um, yeah, wizards, wazzy Gavin, if you're listening, um, great set y'all, y'all knocked it out of park, but, um, you gave me one of the cutest, uh, gremlin designs I have ever seen and not nearly enough of these little scamps in this set. And for that, bugs will remember this. Likewise, the beasties. First of all, I'm kind of sad that, um, beastie didn't become like, I know that obviously just making them beasts, um, makes way more sense for like creature support writ large, but like, they're beasties, they're besties. Um, uh, if Jordan, I think we talked about this like when dusk morn dropped, but, um, if anyone listening hasn't had the pleasure of reading, um, first of all, if you're not like reading the magic story, I highly recommend doing it. It's usually, it's been a lot of fun recently. Um, and I know it hasn't historically been super great in like the semi recent past, but I've enjoyed pretty much everything ranging from like a, like, yeah, it's pretty good to like this fucking rocks, um, all year, like it's starting with murders. Um, but there's a side story, um, that's kind of a backstory slash like explainer about how the beasties came to be in, uh, bloomborough and how they're these like weird goofy amalgamations of, uh, people's pets and they have this kind of collective sense memory to want to protect people. And, um, it's so, it's so well written. It's so touching. I was not anticipating like tearing up at like 10 30 in the morning when I read it, work when it dropped. Um, and I think the beasties are just so, so precious. They're like, they're all, they would probably make my top 10 of, uh, like lore things that have happened this year. Um, and so we, we got one legendary one. His name is Kona. He's the rescue bestie and, um, this thing is he's rescue busty. Yeah, as, as people have started to, uh, play with Kona more, especially in less limited formats like commander, uh, when Kona comes on the field, it, it, it's, it's on site for this good boy. Unfortunately, like, I'm like, we got a, I'm going to fucking old yellow. This. Yeah, we cannot allow this dog to tap. Are you kidding? If this dog taps at best, I'm seeing like a world spine worm and commander. Um, yeah. On the good side of things. At worst, I'm seeing, like, omniscience in standard. Yeah. And then I'm seeing a tracks, uh, and then I'm seeing Valgavoth. Yeah. It's a fucking, uh, I've, I've had some, some fun stuff if people play things that let you tap and untap permanence. Yeah. Particularly with, particularly with Kona. Kona is yet like survival. Honestly, like, I think it almost works as, um, a mechanic, but like, just doing like, oh, yeah, if this thing is tapped after combat, which like either means it, like, flavorfully, you know, it's it either like went into battle or it's somehow hid by like, let's say, for example, piloting a vehicle or generating mana. Um, then you get to do something cool. And Kona lets you just put something on the battlefield. So your, your call, whatever you want, you can just, uh, Kona says, yeah, I have a thing. Kona, Kona gets you a little treat. And then you kill people. Well, and speaking of little treats, I sheltered by ghosts. I feel is, is one of the, the last cards I really want to talk about as like, if, all right, if you didn't play a lot of Duskmore and you didn't open a lot of Duskmore and you don't know about Duskmore. Sheltered by ghosts is one of the, I, I strongly feel one of the best cards to come out this year. It's not. That is a nutter butters card. It is so good. If you have, honestly, if you have any kind of white, you should probably be running it for two. Like, yeah, yeah, no, like, it is, it's so unassuming. But yeah, like when an ETB's, um, exile a target non-land creature controlled by an opponent until sheltered by ghosts leaves the battlefield. Um, so you just oblivion ring a thing. Um, you ossify a thing, whatever. And if that wasn't enough, I didn't get for two fucking mana. Um, if Link and Ward and plus one plus oh, it is, it's so it is, no, like the, the number of times I've run into, uh, turn one Optimus X scavenger turn to sheltered by ghosts. Ooh, like I hadn't even thought about. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Get rid of my thing. Deal with this punchy for what would that be? That'd be a punch for three. That's like four. Yeah. Three. That's not bad turn two coming in for three. Life like God damn. I didn't even thought about that. Yeah. Yeah. Six point swing turn three is, um, not a bad way to start. Well, it depends on what side you're on. But yeah. Yeah. If you're controlling it, then, um, but are there any others in Duskborne? I realize I've kind of hogged this conversation with my love of Duskborne. I, you're good. Um, there's one that I want to bring up fully for the art because it makes me, it's bizarre and I love it, um, and that is, uh, unidentified hovership. Oh, yeah. Unidentified hovership. I love that we just have like a Roswell ass UFO card. Um, well, we have two of them because there's also fear of abduction. Oh, yeah. We do have some little, uh, little green men type guys. Yeah. Like I based on the little bit of art we've seen for the, um, the space opera set that we're getting this year. I don't think this is the art direction. They're going to be going for that, unfortunately. Um, I mean, it granted what we've seen so far. Like, I love, like, Dune ass fucking teserat, like that fucking rocks. But, um, I was really hoping that it's like, if we get like little green men in saucers type shit, like, oh, let's go. Um, but yeah, no, I just wanted to kind of close on dusk morn with like, I, I can't, I, I wish I could overlook the aesthetic of the survivors just like a little bit harder. Um, but outside of that, I think it is, I think it's all set that like, if you let it into your heart, it's very fun. Yeah. Like you, you have to, I, I wish, I wish more people would let it into their heart. I, I, I love me some dusk morn. I think it is fantastic. It bums me out that apparently it did not sell very well, uh, comparatively. I mean, that might mean boxes of it'll be cheap. Yeah, but it probably mean, like, cause I know Bloomberg sold pretty well, right? Yeah. Bloomberg did. Oh, I think a lot better than they were anticipating. Yeah. So I'm, I, of the, the things we've seen this year, I think Bloomberg was the one that like with a bullet, we're definitely going to see some kind of follow up to. Um, I mean, and yeah, I, I'm going to give a little bit of a spoiler for later in the pod. Um, if we talk about a through drift at all, um, one of the factions of racers all come from dusk morn. Oh, one of the factions interest. Yeah. I have, I've heard tale that there is a certain character returning. That makes me very happy. Um, I did not realize there was a whole faction. Yeah. Well, we're going to get to that. I, um, okay, but let's, um, mosey on through foundations and foundations jumpstart just to just to kind of get these all going at once. I, what do you think, what do you think of foundation? Just like, like gut, gut response? Um, I'm, I'm a lot of people really love foundations. And I, I don't mean to be like a, I don't, I don't want to be like, sound like I'm being a, um, a contrarian or anything, but I think foundations is fine. I think it is, it is some magic ass magic. Um, I think it's neat. I think it's cool. I, I like it a fair bit. I don't think it is kind of the necessarily the, um, like the apex of, of sets that I think a lot of people will see it as. I understand that. I'm going to politely push back for a couple of reasons. Um, if you say hair parent, I was going to start there, but no, I think I, I think I need to lead with, uh, progenitus. God damn. Okay. Um, pretty neat. Um, and we, so I will say I run a lot of these cards. Like looking through them, I think it is an incredibly well balanced set. I think it has so many fun things. Like we've talked about infernal vessel, which people are sleeping on. Oh, yeah. Like I think it, it is a set with a little bit for everybody. And I think that means that I think having that a little bit for everybody and especially the ease of access that they've given people means that people, I get what I want from this set much quicker. And I was ready to move on. I think a little bit more. That's fair. I'm just going to say we have progenitus and lana war elves in standard for the next five and scavenging news. Yeah, scavenging news is the next five years. We have, we have Cranko, mob boss, doubling season, and Galta in standard. That is like, who's who's the big? Who's the, the, the, the, quake strider, Sarah tops. Oh, yeah, young thiccums. Yeah. Big meat, big meatball, big meatball, a seer slicer goblin. Oh my God. Like, um, but the one that I, that I do just really want to be like, because I've recently built this as a commander. And I just, oh, this card sparks me with so much joy. Nive visit visionary. The nive visit that combos with himself. Yeah. Yeah. People do. People be like in that, I have a visit that this, you're telling me this nive visit's a visionary. Like I, oh my fucking God, we got a new Alesha, like just, we got like pre loot showing up in the vault. We have like baby loot, baby or loot, because I guess he's kind of still a baby, but baby or loot, um, because he doesn't have, is it, he doesn't have full teamer yet. He just has mono green. And he's also kind of heinous as a commander. Oh, he's, oh my God. He's, he's a little shitster. My green loot is stupid. Like we have Ferexian arena and rise of the dark realms in standard scrolling crawlers, also another banger that they came out with. Like it's sire of seven deaths is just cool. Like I, I think that I, so I'm going to take what you said and I'm going to give it the positive spin. Given that there's no plane or story for this set, like yeah, I kind of feel like I'm like, I'm, I, I down to move on from it pretty quickly, but there's so much fun in it. Like I have just had so much fun playing limited playing standard with these cards. Um, there's so many banner of kinship is nutty in any like creature like kindred deck. Like, oh yeah, there's just so much cool, fun, good shit that, and it feels very like, yes, there is like that infinite combo with the, the mono black life gain life drain. Um, in the set, but like for the most part, it feels just so bare bones kitchen table. And I, I love that. Like that is like this is just fun, straightforward magic. Like this is magic that you can teach to your mom. Yeah, you know, as I'm looking through it again, I think I just haven't, I think I got the cards I wanted from opening and anything else, like it's gotten to a point where I'm okay with just having the cards and whatever. Um, like whatever I want, I'm just going to buy singles of, but it does have like in every color, it has a lot of bangers. And like it has the most Selesnia card I've ever seen anthem of champions, which is for Selesnia, creatures you control get plus one plus one. Yeah, and that's what that's like a two drop. That is, that is for green and white. You're like, it's so many of these cards are just like, yep. Yeah, you do the thing. Like we have like rares and mythics with, uh, uh, flavor text on them. Like that's, I feel like that this is just a kind of, this is an interesting reset to see like this happening. And then like next year we're going into standard legal, uh, like universes beyond after what feels like just the most perfect little straightforward corset. But yeah, I mean, I guess like, yeah, there aren't really cards that I want to, there's one card that I do want to linger on. Um, but it's just like nice, like we have Lily on a dread horde general, like in standard. That's, and Zuel, Zuel Asher is another, uh, fun. Like there's just, it's, it's so many cards. Like, they're just neat. We have rise of the dragon collar. It's four and then two red, which says, whenever you cast an in center sorcery, create a five, five dragon with flying. Like that's just dope. Or, or we haven't talked about, um, like high-faitrixor, have we? We have not high-faitrixor is pretty fun. High-faitrixor makes me so fucking happy. Um, I believe was high-faitrixor originally? Oh, no, no. High-faitrixor was the, the flash, everything you control gets flash correct. Uh, yes. Yeah. High-faitrixor, heinous. We have mocking sprite legal and standard for five years. We have aggressive mammoth in standard. Oh, also all the hydras are bangers. It's just like, yeah, okay. It's pretty good. Um, we have hair apparent, which I would be amiss to not mention, which I love it. I need to finally make a proper bunny camander deck with the 12 hair appearance I have now. Cheezes. I think I'm on four or five. Uh, but yeah, somebody, somebody was collecting a bunch of them and they traded them all to me for some other cards and I was like, "Ah, okay, yes, let's do that." Oh, yeah. Like, I love that you can have any number of cards named this. Like, that just awesome. Um, and it would also, I think, be amiss if we, um, didn't talk about, um, my boy, um, Shrufus Sproutsire. Oh, yeah, we need to talk about foundation's jumpstart. Like, there's, I mean, we can breeze through this. Um, I just love that. I love that we have a jumpstart that's good. I am every LGS I go to have been completely sold out. Oh, yeah. Yeah. My local shit's been sold out for weeks. I've been, I just bought, this is the first, like, new set of the year that I bought a box for that is on its way. Yeah. I, I have cracked a box of this and it feels fantastic. Um, Well, and because like so many people want so many of these cards that like, the value is there right now. Yeah. That I don't even feel bad about it. But Shrufus Sproutsire. Yeah. Let's talk about these legendaries because holy shit. He's the first, um, like creature you can cast with the creature type sappering. I think that that is crazy. Like, I don't know exactly when sapprolings were introduced into magic, but it's been a while. And, uh, now, like, I, I love sapprolings. I think they're just such funny little guys. Um, I love thalads. They make me happy. Um, and just, yeah, what have you made, um, every sappirling? No, but like more of them, even more of them. Like, I think he is so funny. I think he is so, I, so I've been on a kick of, along with my unhinged deck building, my, um, part of it has been, I want to build more mono decks, but I want to do it outside of like the regular typos that people might think of. Yeah. Uh, and a big part of that has been shit, like, like this, like I have a, I can do when anybody can do a green mono green elf deck, but like, what if I did mono green sappirling? Yeah, mono green sapprolings, thalads, funguses, spores, molds, fungus. Yeah. Like, oh my God. Holy shit. You can get a chromatic lantern and jumpstart. That's so cool. I wonder what, I wonder what, uh, theme that comes with. Probably one of the artifact themes. God, but like, yeah, I mean, it's, I'm glad that jumpstart is not strictly standard legal. Um, but like there's just, I do, I do need to call attention to maybe one of the worst, uh, card, like card arts in this set. Um, and that is, are you familiar with Si master, thopterist? I am. Oh, oh, what's it is. I, I, I see what they're kind of trying to, huh? It gets worse the longer you look at it, honestly. It's, I don't like that his glasses are so small. His eyes are so oddly piercing. Uh, the way his body is angled doesn't quite look right. It's it. Yeah. Like the, the angle that we're getting this, I'm like, I would have wanted. Uh, why is he looking at us and not the thopter that he's mastering? Indeed. Uh, however, I would like to also point out, um, Mowoo. Mowoo. No, no art for Mowoo. Puppy. Love Mowoo. Puppy. Puppy. Very good puppy. Yeah. Oh my god. It's, it's, it's, it's jumpstart. It's good magic. It's foundations. Like I need, I need so many of these cards still. I want, we have, I want to make, I want to make a deck for playgon lord of the beach, the starfish wizard. Oh my god. His job is literally just beach. Ophelia, viper whisperer. I need that for my gorgon deck. I need, uh, okay. So I also, another one I don't like. Um, somebody who just built a mono red vampire deck. Avora insatiable air. I do not like her art. She is the only legendary mono red vampire. Yeah. It's, yeah. It's just, it's, she looks like an old lady. I mean, I kind of like that for her. She's giving Esma. I'm, I mean, I need my red vampires to be serving far more cunt. That there's a legacy to a pole didn't serve cunt. How? Okay. How speaking of little guys and because I know you love goblins, how do you feel about general crete? Yeah, buddy. Because that is, that's a goblin with an energy sword. That is control enters. Like that is goblin. What's the goblin bombardment and impact tremors? Yeah, it's our impact tremors and mini cranko. Yeah. I mean, it's a, no, he's, uh, oh, no, it's scarce. Uh, seersplacer goblin. Seersplacer's goblin or a squee? Oh, yeah. Yeah. No, I love an impact tremor squee. A fumulus. The infestation is another good one. Which one was he again? Oh, yeah. Yeah. He's cute. What a name. This is my son fumulus. The infestation. Also, and this is because, so I, I am unfamiliar. Like, I do not believe there is a token for this, but Ozox, the clattering king. Oh, yes. There is not currently go on jumble bones. I need, I need a token that says jumble bones and is a legendary T1 black skeleton. Jumble bones is like giving the musical cats so hard. Yes, please. And like, like it's like jumble bones and buster for Jones or best friends as far as I can tell. Like buster for Jones is not just skin and bones. Jumble bones is literally just bones. I was thinking, Oh God, there are a bunch of just bangers in the jump start sets. Yeah. Like, I even, I love the, the geota, the new image, jata. I opened one of those recently. Cyr Elinora, the discerning. I want to build a deck around that. I think that would be dumb to do like blue Voltron. Fuck. Yeah. Yeah. What a, what a neat fucking set is a rat. Can we, can we talk about curvy? Is a rat the Awakener? Way, which down in the new art guest artists. All righty. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like that's mommy. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. And this isn't the, they've done anime art before, right? Like in past jump start sets. Um, yes. No, no, in past jumpstart. No, I think this is the first time we've done, there might have been new arts in some old jump starts of not entirely sure. Don't quote me on that. But I think this is the first time we've gone like really all in on this many like new art, like for fun reprints. Right. I, yeah. I, I think the set is so like honestly to me, this is the thing that is more fun about foundations. Um, I, I love all these legendaries. I love all of the, the like fun synergy that they've packed in here. I love the weird B side cards that they've put in here that I get to discover now, like angelic cub. Oh, yeah. The cat angel with gorgeous fucking art that I've never seen before. Yep. Um, okay. I think this actually, this gets the core of my thoughts on jumpstart and kind of foundations as a whole. There are very few cards in this that I want to collect, but just about every card, like this is a set full of cards that you want to play and want to be played. Like this is interesting. This is not a MTG finance bro set. This is crack packs, jam games. Yeah. I mean, well, and I think that it, it is perfectly made for that. And I think, especially when you consider the other, the, the rest of the foundation set and how long it's going to be around, I think they did a really good job of having, of creating this environment where you be like these cards feel comfortable. Yes. And even the heavier ones, even things like blast, mesetic and stuff like that, they're, they're ways to deal with it. They're ways to counter it. And it, it doesn't have this like, like feeling. Yes. Like there's nothing, there's nothing in here on the level of like, shielded the apocalypse. No, but there's a ton of cards in here that would probably be great for support with Shelley in some way. Exactly. Yeah. Like I said, I, I run, like there's so many good and I have like three or four vampire decks now. There's so many good vampires. There's so many good little, there is really a sampler platter, like even with jumpstart, they have, here's a Gorgon assassin, like there are so many things that I am running from jumpstart and foundations across all of my decks now that I really can't be mad at any of it. Although I am very, I really hope I don't ever have to open up another pack of encounters is one of the ones I run a lot and the courageous or whatever the one with the bloodlust insider is that gives me a net visier of Hazorette. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I've opened like three of those each. I have a cracked three. Oh, shit. What is it like, stoked or like, yep, stoked. That's what it is. Yep. Yep. Yep. Like I, oof. It's in it's their fun cards, but like, I would like to open more of the fun angels ones, please. Um, but I guess that kind of, unless you have anything else to say kind of on foundations or this year in magic writ large, I mean, I, I think it's been a pretty banger year, especially in the back half. Yeah. I think a lot of people were very, when I kind of came on the same, when I was getting into banking decks and stuff in the spring, a lot of people were very negative. Um, the kind of after, you know, people liked Ravnica remastered, but then you had Karla of Banner. Yeah. Then you had Ravnica remastered with hats. Yeah. And I think a lot of people like looking forward to like, okay, we've got, you know, fall out, fall out was good for the commander players, but then, um, looking forward, it was like, yeah, modern horizons. Yeah. I think Bloomberg will be cool, but I'm not looking forward to that horror thing. And I'm not looking forward to Assassin's Creed, but as they've unfurled and has more people kind of gave a lot of these sets a chance. Um, I think they've all, all proven to be pretty good in their own ways. Yeah. I think that like, even if they're not the main players of a lot of decks, like, I think there's going to be a lot of fun niche, like favorites for everyone plus like, honestly, some weird busted tech. Um, there's, there's so many weird, I like, I was, so I was just, like I was just talking about with Nico and Marina Vendrella is that has been as I've gotten into, and it's, it's what I love all these weird, new, um, legendary creatures and jumpstart for is that as I've been getting into building things and I am, okay, I'm going to try and make something that is weird that surprises people, they continue to put out more cards that are just great like that. Like, like I'm looking at Sinette Jelly Drover, who's a, uh, she creates a one, one blue jellyfish with flying. Yeah. That's sick as hell. That's so weird and dumb, but I'm sure somebody can make it viable. And that's the kind of shit I love that that's kind of shit I love. I, you know, like everybody else I've been playing a little bit of Marvel rivals. And it's, it reminds me of the old days of Overwatch where the most fun part of any competitive format of any competitive game is finding your own play style and making that work for you and still being good at the game. And yeah, there are so many different tools for so many different tastes and styles that have been given this year. Uh, and I, I think a lot of people are still gonna, part of the fun is going to be that people are going to take a lot of time to find their niche, find their group, like there's going to be at some point somebody's be going through, you know, draft chaff or just bulk at their local store and they're going to find a sheltered by ghosts. They're going to find a card that they overlooked in Bloomboro and it's going to change and they're going to make a deck around it or it's going to change the way they play a certain card. And I think that's like, that's part of what makes magic such a, a wonderful game as an experience and as a, a method for expression. Yeah, no, entirely like there's, I'm really excited for some of these cards to become someone's new favorite card, like five, 10 years from now. Like, I'm stoked for some kid just getting into magic to learn that there is a card named Anzrag the quake mole and it's a mole god and it lets you do even more battle. Like someone's going to come across that and just be like, this is the sickest fucking card. How is this not the most busted thing you can do? Like you are just going to be pushing Anzrag quake mole propaganda until then. This is a pro Anzrag and pro shiven wampus podcast. Yes. Fair enough. Fair enough. Speaking of healthy ways of playing magic, as of two days ago, from when we're recording this, there were some major bands. Oh boy, weren't there? I, I first saw this as like a joke and I was, I thought somebody was like, Oh, okay, they're, you know, somebody's joking about, of course, they're banning the one ring, haha. And then no, they, they done, they done did it. They done, we are free. Like I, I don't play much modern because I don't have MTGO, but I do watch a decent amount of modern and keep a little bit of an eye on the scene. And this year has been rough between Dottu and the energy decks and the one ring continuing to exist. And good on wizards, the one ring is finally banned. Like, yeah, and they're trying to kneecap the energy deck by banning amped raptor, which I think is also a fantastic move. Um, like I, the one ring is, as literally everyone and their dog has said, the one ring is just kind of a little bit too good. And for it to have been printed directly into modern is sort of heinous. Like, I think it would have been just as fine for the one ring to have been printed into, uh, like all of the commander decks. And maybe you continue to have it be the promo for the bundles and let legacy and vintage have something fucked up. Like it should never have been something you could have a four of, I think, because that really cuts down on the drawback of one of the craziest card drawing engines. No, the craziest consistent card drawing engines. Um, yeah, I, um, I'm excited to see what the format looks like moving forward. Um, oh, also Jenga, Jengatha, uh, caught a stray, but I, who cares? It's Jengatha. Like, it's, it's good stuff kind of extra value companion shit. Like companions busted companions really busted. Like they had to erot a companion, like literally within weeks of, um, Acoria, I believe. Yeah, that was, that, that was came from Acoria, right? Yeah. Yeah, something like that. Dropping. Um, yeah, they had to erot a, I'm just gonna say that with a little more confidence. Um, they had to erot a the way that companion works within weeks of Acoria dropping. Like it's, I don't know why Wizards was like, oh yeah, let's give 60 card formats like a commander. Let's do that. And like all of them are fucking nuts. Like lutry was banned from commander before the card even dropped. Louris is too busted for like vintage. Like you can't, the, these things are just a mess. I, I don't think anyone's gonna super miss Jengatha. Um, but Jordan, what I am very curious to hear your thoughts on is, um, the four unbannings in modern. Yeah. Now I am not as, uh, well versed in bannings and unbannings and especially modern and pioneer and legacy because there's, there's a couple of bannings for, for those as well. Oh yeah. It's like a Todd got gotten legacy and so did vexing bauble. Um, eat good redness. They're a little bit too good for their own good. To me, it seems like, uh, that doesn't happen a lot. I have not seen four unbannings of this power level since I've paid attention to modern. Um, but, uh, yeah, returning to modern mocks, Opal, green sun, zenith, faceless, faithless looting and splinter twin. Like, yo, yeah, people sure do be like in that splinter twin, I think. Oh, like it's definitely for nostalgia reasons. I don't think splinter twins actually going to be super viable. You don't think so? Um, I mean, what, what's the like functional difference between that and like, um, a lecture duplicates, I guess, except that it happens every turn. No, it doesn't happen every turn. It happens a million times in one turn when the knee kills. Oh, no, it doesn't it because it's enchanted crate. Uh huh. Oh, yeah. Um, so Jordan, I'm going to, I'm going to have you scroll down with me on the abandoned restricted page and we're going to come down to the modern, uh, unbannings, going to come down to splinter twin. And I'm going to have you look at the card pester might. Okay. And, uh, um, this is why this is such a long, okay, pester might. There we go. Oof. Okay. Yeah. So pester mites, a two and a blue flash creature, um, with flying and when an ETB's, you may tap or untap a target permanent. So, um, what if you start, um, you put splinter twin on a pester might and then you have countably infinite pester mites. Uh, history. Yeah, I love how they have it on a thing. History tells us that replacing splinterton with Kiki Jiki mirror breaker doesn't cut it. Eight years of format evolution, keep the twin combo and check. We hope so. Basically, is what they're saying. Yes. Um, I, and I do think that there is enough, like, variety and there's not a variety of like removal that you can run and like splinter twin is because opal, um, zenith and looting are all kind of more toolboxy cards that can go into a variety of different decks. I'm very excited to see what, um, uh, amulet titan does with, uh, green sons. Hmm. But yes, splinter twin. It's like you're, you're on splinter twin. Um, green creature at converted cost X or less. Oof. And mocks, opal. Yeah. Mocks, opal. And I'm, I'm mostly stoked for faithless looting, frankly. Um, just because I love faithless looting. I did not know that was, uh, a band card. Yeah. It's really good to be able to pitch, uh, two cards of your choice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, with flashback, like what if I'm like, I, it's a card. I love playing and I'm just, I, I don't know. I guess I was kind of surprised that it isn't, uh, more or that it was banned in a format, but I guess in something like, um, modern third, they're more option. Oh yeah. Cause you can play multiple copies. Can't you? Yeah. You can play four of those. So you can do this eight times. Okay. That's a little different. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's, um, it's a busted card. I wonder if it'll catch a re banning. I hope it doesn't, but like, I'm going to call this now. I would not be the most surprised. Um, but it's fucking back. And just like, if this has been especially just in a year full of weird B and R announcements, this one feels, this one feels like a good note to end on, I think, you know, as much as I, I did not see the rank or the uproar that people were feeling around like a couple months ago. Um, which I, I'm kind of surprised about as far as the one ring because of how like expensive that card has been. Well, yeah, because it's it up until Monday, like it got so expensive because you needed four of them for like any modern deck can play it. Yeah. I think it is just a matter of like, I think kind of everybody knew that it was coming in some way. Oh yeah. No, like the writing has been on the wall. Like it's, I'm, I really hope that this causes a big drop in price for it because I think that it is, it's a really cool card. It's a really good card. I think it should be affordable for more budget and client players. Like I think it's, it's stupid, expensive right now. But like, is it, you can play in commander, right? Oh yeah. Um, let me check something. So the one ring on TCG player is, um, down to $56. Okay. That is a precipitous drop already. Holy shit. Um, which, and that's still not nothing. That's still more than or just bowmasters. I think that's a little bit more than bowmasters. It's like a round or bowmasters is hitting, I believe, but like, I two months ago, it was approaching, if not hitting, a hundred dollars or three months ago, I guess. Actually, it's been on a good decline from, uh, since September, when everyone just was kind of like, okay, okay, it's gonna, it's gonna have to drop, right? Like, because it's gonna have to get banned. I mean, you'll always retain some value just for being a, um, a collector's card, right? But that hit of the set. Yeah. Like this was the reason the set sold so hard was because, um, Rosa, are you familiar with the one of one ring? Um, yes. Um, I, I don't know anything about MTG, but I am a degenerate gambler. Okay. I enjoy Pokemon cards for the degenerate gambling aspect. So I followed the, uh, the whole one. And you're, you're also a massive fan of Post Malone too. Oh yeah. I love Post Malone. I'm a, I'm a big posty head. I'm actually giving, um, uh, post Malone written on my forehead, but the Joker, uh, so it's actually hard. Yeah. You're getting a tattoo that says full of Maloney. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, I, I, I've always wanted to be a white rapper, big inspiration on what I do. Oh my God. Yeah. I know. I think you're, you're totally right though that it's going to retain some like, like, uh, price, memory type situation. Like I doubt it'll go much under 50 bucks. Um, I like when the set first dropped, it was going for around like 45 or 50 bucks. And so I got my copy because I bought one of the bundles that you were guaranteed. It was like the promo card in the bundle was you get it and I'm like, okay, I'm going to spend like 15 bucks more than what this is going for and also get many packs of magic cards, but which is such a good deal now looking back. Yeah. No, I, I'm, I'm just glad it drops because like personally, and maybe this is like a weird controversial thought. Um, I don't like when I have cards that are like over a certain price value that I did not intentionally get. Like if it's, if it's, I'm, I'm on that tip too, where I'm like, if a card is $40 and it's not one I'm playing and not one that people want to trade for, I'm just selling it because I like it, it would do better for me to get more cards than to just like have this thing here. Yeah. No, like most of, most of the cards that I have that fit that like situation of like, yeah, like that 30 to 50 and I don't think I have anything. I have one card that's more than that. Um, but we're not going to get into that, but most of those live just in my, uh, in my cube because I'm like these, this means they're going to get played by people and they'll be exciting for people. Like, um, Vi and I drafted my cube the other night and she got the one ring and it was sick as hell. Like sometimes it's just fun to, they're fun to play, but I did not like, I'm like, this is just weirdly expensive cardboard collecting dust in a binder and it's good to hopefully see this one drop. I'd love to see it drop under 20. I don't think it's going to happen, but like I would love to see it drop under 20. That would be, yeah, I think that might be a little bit too wishful on the thinking, but I, I'm with you. Like it's the same way, um, there was, um, a bit when a tally primer, Primal Conqueror, the, the Forexian Flippy Italy. Oh, yeah. Spiked to like 40 last year, like 40 bucks, um, because everyone wanted one for their Ixalan Commander decks. Oh, yeah. And now you can get like a foil version for $15 and I think that that is, damn, I didn't realize Primal Conqueror was damn. Okay. Um, it's a cool card. It's a dinosaur that causes problems on purpose. Um, I have a, it is one of, uh, I have a mood dang proxy of it that I bought off of Instagram, which is very funny for me. Um, okay. We've definitely drifted from the band and restricted a little bit, a little bit, but also like, I don't know if I have much more to say on this other than like, thank God. I thank God the one rings dead. Yeah. Like it, it, I think everybody kind of knew it was a matter of time. And like I said, the, the most surprising aspect of this is how to me, everybody just like took this and stride. And it was interesting seeing something discussed around Bannings where people were like actually chill for a second. Yeah. And people were like, yeah, like, like even just celebrating like, Hey, faithless looting and, and Mox Opel and splinter twin is back. Like it was nice to have that little bit of positivity. Yeah. Especially at the end of such a long year and a year that has been in magic and the rest of the world kind of fraught with controversy and not so cool shit. Yeah. No, it's, um, after the emergency Bannings in commander, it's nice to see that people are like, yeah, no, actually that card is busted and should not be here. Um, all right. Uh, really quick, then I think I'd like to wrap up with just some updates for aether drift just because I think that we're in for a lot of really cool shit. I think so too. And, uh, I, uh, uh, okay, you, you update me because I have been, I am still unfortunately, uh, and granted, I have not kept up as much as I probably should, but I'm still unfortunately an aether drift hater. I'm about to turn you into a big fan of aether drift. Okay. Lay it on. This is, this is my approach at least. So first off, um, I want to lead with the fact that a plane of magic has had its name changed both in universe and out of universe, which I think is sick as hell. Um, so average car formerly known as Caledash will be, um, due to like in universe reasons, there was like a, um, kind of like citizens revolt type situation that, um, apparently was very blood, uh, bloodless, which good for them. Revolution is possible and cool. And I guess they didn't have to kill a bunch of people to prove that. Um, they, after this, like the reigning powers were overthrown and the people of Avish car decided to like return, um, the plane to its former name is the in universe explanation and the out of verse or out of universe explanation is because Caledash when said with a certain inflection, um, is turbo racist and Hindi. Oh, so I did not, I, I was curious what the reasoning was because I know like Caledash is, is based on like it's Southeast Asian culture. Yes. And so I was, I was curious about like, because Caledash is still like fairly, like last decade, fairly recent. Yep. And, um, I was not paying attention to magic at the time. So this was news to me, but I'm all on board. Avish car being a cool celebration set and not something that makes P or like a cool celebration plane and not something that makes people cringe and kind of hate themselves. Um, but so I like, just off that alone, I'm like, that's cool as hell. Um, and so, yeah, like, all of the reasons that I'm like stoked for this also are just very in universe E things because like the main crux of the story is, um, Chandra riding a fucking like Tron ass fucking light bike on like racing through like multiple planes, trying to win a spark for her girlfriend, Nissa. And it's, it's gay lesbians on motorcycles and I can't hate that. So you were saying that the one thing I have heard about this, and I was, I was actually talking to friends about this and they were telling me about all the different factions and like they, there's like a bug faction that like, yeah, there is turn into bug cars and shit like that. Yes. There's what looks like a sort of, um, I'm just gonna go through them really quick. Um, yeah, go for it. And we'll linger on the ones that I really want to talk about because they all look sick. I want to say this first and foremost, and I'm really excited to see what the different color pairings are for them. But so we have the aether rangers who are like local to Avish car, like hosts, like of the, the guy up her grand pre, which is the name of the big race, um, and are led by, uh, Chandra's mom, which I think is also really cool and fun that, um, but we're not, um, they're led by Chandra's mom, but, um, Chandra has not decided to join with them because she wants to fucking win. So she's, uh, part of the, uh, Cloud Swire racing team, which are like the Tronass looking like super high techie look mother, looking motherfuckers. Um, probably going to be in Boros. They just seem fun. Um, representing Amanchet is, uh, the champions of Amanchet, which look like, um, the art we have here is, um, a human and a zombie being pulled in the chariot by, uh, big zombie snakes. And that's pretty neat. We have, um, then a bunch of different factions that are from either visiting planes who are from currently unknown planes. They're not super well known planes, um, who got to Avish car through, um, Omenpaths. So we've got, um, the guide late voyagers, which are a all, uh, they're like a hive mind artifact, creature, Android situation. Um, and they're incredibly buddy shaped. They look very, they look like fallout robots kind of in a very positive way. Um, would you, would you, uh, link me really quick what you're looking at? Yes. I'm going to just drop it in chat. Okay. Um, okay. There we go. Um, this is about halfway down. And then did you also see really quick, we can talk about this, um, gold-boarded cards? Wait, what's this about gold-boarded cards? Wait, no, sorry, wrong one. Um, uh, are we getting gold-boarder legality and commander? I think Arthur drift leak reveals new gold-boarded MTG cards. Fuck. Yeah. Oh, fuck. Yeah. I, I have not seen that. I don't really pay attention to leaks, but that's sick as hell. Um, I am, yeah, I'm, I'm fucking on board with that. But yeah, if you want to scroll down with me and just kind of go through the teams, I think all of this art, it is a lot of things that don't just feel like cars super hard. And then also some things that are literally, um, muscle cars, but we're going to get to that. Um, I needed to see the guide light voyagers really quick, just because like, look at this buddy. Okay. Where am I? I am goddamn. Okay. They have the whole it's there's, there's a lot of lore that I skipped over. Um, that's like vis-a-vis like the history of the, um, a guy who prevents fire. Oh, guy like, oh, guy like, okay, that's a cute little robot. Look at that little guy. Um, and then scroll down a little bit more with me and, uh, the speed demons. Hmm. Are all coming from Duskmorn. They are being sent by Valgavoth to get a spark. Valgavoth wants to be a planeswalker. They're being led by winter who plans on cheating using loot. Because remember, Valgavoth has loot right now and that's thick as hell. Unfortunately, I'm very into this. Yep. Um, you scroll down a little bit further. The goblin rocketeers. Oh, that's, that's just made directly for you. Um, yeah, because they're a bunch of little freaks who worship a deity named Boost God. Okay. So they, they just made like the war boys, but made goblin war boys. Yes. Okay. I, at some point, I don't, I don't think we have time for this in this podcast and also my headphones are about to die. So we can't go through these like super hard, but I implore everyone to read through on the, uh, played walkers guide, the little write up of the goblin rocketeers because they also have like a deity whose, um, name cannot be uttered that is, um, basically gravity. And I love that. These are just little dudes who want to go fast. Um, the Alec, um, Alec Ray and quick beasts, uh, looks like we're going to be getting some mounts. I think that's fun and cool. Um, they're soliciting amounts based on everything I can see about them. Um, the speed brood are the like, yeah, like sort of transformer-y bug cars. Fascinating. Um, we also have, uh, street sharks. Yeah, no, I'm looking at the keel haulers, which are, um, air breathing fish folk and human comrades. So those, that'll be fun. Oh, okay. Hmm. And then the end writers, which are just like the most straight up. All right. So here's the thing. Yeah, I talked about this before and I was like, okay, if it is like magic Mad Max, I can fuck with that, uh, because I think magic, when it comes to like stories about wastelands and deserts and far off, like terrible fucked up places, magic's always done great with that. You got Forexia, you had, uh, you know, stuff with Mirage, like it's that that's in Magic's DNA. And so I think having not one, not two, but it looks like three or four, uh, groups between the goblin rocketeers, speed demons and them that are inspired by Mad Max, like, yeah, it's, I, I think that this set's going to be, I, I am hoping that this lands in the way that they were hoping Thunder Junction does. Like I, I will be at, if anything, I will be a defender and an apologist for Aether Drift. Because again, the core of the story is lesbian's on motorcycles. The surrounding fluff is boost God. And you know what? I am a big, the one thing, the thing I've learned that that was like, okay, you know what? Maybe this will be something interesting. It was like we were talking about the Marvel set. It is not just here is one plane. It is here is this, this multi planer celebration of magic and all these different aspects of it. Oh, also one of the things that I fuck with, one of the planes we're going to is a plane that we haven't visited before. Um, let me find its name. It's the, yeah. I was just looking at that. Um, it, but, but, but, uh, Muraganda. Yeah, Muraganda, um, which is the big, it's a big stompy dinosaur plane. So, like, yeah, give me Mad Max goblins with dinosaurs. I'm sorry. I am sometimes still 13. Yeah, I, I'm right there with you. Yeah. Fortunately, I fuck with that super hard. Uh, I also, I do need to talk about those commander decks because like on the cover, one of them has Sehealy and is like an energy deck that totally makes sense. Yeah. The other one is a, like, kitted out mummy race car driver. Yeah. And while I think that is in its own way, very funny. Um, I think that's going to turn a lot of people off. Yes. That much, much has already been said about the, the, um, and cat NASCAR man. And I, I'm going to say, let's, let's give piece of chance. I, I, I feel like I really love winter. I really want to, I'm, I'm glad to see winter's back and it makes me very happy to the idea of getting a new winter card that I can play a winter that is not so fucking nightmarish. And maybe I don't need to take my one winter deck apart. Makes me very happy. Like it's boost God, boost guys and all caps boost God. That's very funny. I, I love boost God for you, honestly. I, I like, I was reading it at work and I like cracked up seeing this. I'm like, I'm like, yep, yep. I, yeah. Um, Scott is like the name of a famous like Usenet forum poster. Genuinely boost God, boost God's a poster. Absolutely. Boost God is absolutely a poster. And I think on that note, my headphones are about to die and I don't want to have to deal with the hell of getting this transferred over. So, uh, should we wrap it up a little bit? I think so. I think that about does it for, I think that's probably going to do it for our year in magic until, until next year. Yeah. Yeah. Geez. It's the holidays. Yeah. I can't believe we're on this is episode eight already. That's nuts. We've been doing this for like four months. Yeah. Holy shit. Yeah. We opened with the banning of Nadu, the lost episode. Um, uh huh. And now we're here fucking. Oh, my dog agrees. And so I guess thank you to everybody who's who's listening along with us and everybody who has followed us so far.
