The Food Scraps Pickup Program is a new way for residents of Ramsey and Washington counties to recycle their food scraps from home. It’s currently rolling out to all residents of the two counties. Twenty percent of household trash by weight is food scraps. This program offers an easy and convenient way for residents to collect and separate these food scraps so they can be recycled, turning them back into soil instead of becoming waste. We invited our friend Karla Bingham, Washington County Commissioner, on the show to tell us more about this new program where residents can put their food scraps to use!
