And now, this is the moment you've all been waiting for. It's time for the strength of breathless partner. It's Friday, July 19th, 2024, and this is the State for Breakfast Podcast, Episode 422 and 423. Make sure you're subscribed to the show. It's available across every downloadable podcast and platform. Find us on Apple, Spotify, iHeart, and Google Podcasts. Check out the State for Breakfast link tree that takes you to Instagram, our latest sub-stack and verified accounts on Twitter, Get Earned True Social. What's up everybody and welcome to the first of two big Friday editions of the State for Breakfast Podcasts today. I'm Roan and I've got Noah here with me, RNC edition. We've got lots of breaking news. Joe Biden continues to fight for his political life as the Democrat Party continues to try and remove him from the ballot this November. We'll bring him the latest. Also the latest on the investigation into the assassination attempt on President Trump last week in Pennsylvania. And just how much stonewalling Alejandro Mayorkas on the Secret Service is giving the House of Representatives. We've got a great slate of guests coming in here today as well. Indiana Congresswoman Aaron Holshman will be joining us. We'll also be joined by Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchard and the comms director for the Florida Young Republican Club, Megan Ekdenkamp. But before we get into any of our interviews, let's take it out to Milwaukee and change the way you consume your news. Monkey, this is not nom, this is bowling, they're a rule. Hey, hey, hey, junior, America! It's like, for the best! So stand by! What's up everybody and welcome to the State for Breakfast podcast. I'm Roan, flying solo for part of the podcast today. As we all know from our Tuesday editions of the show, Noah's in training, but we'll be joining us for complete commentary on Donald Trump's acceptance speech on the back end of our second of two big Friday editions of the show today. If you're a first-time listener welcome, if you're a long-time listener welcome back to America's Fastest Growing and quickly becoming favorite political podcast. Busy week here on the show, wrapping up things at the RNC. We've brought you a totality of our interview ship this week from the Republican National Convention happening right now in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As always, we got an absolutely packed and A-tier guest lineup today. Florida Congressman Corey Mills will be joining us. Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchit will be here as well. Aaron Houchin, Indiana Congresswoman will be jumping in and we'll catch up with Megan Ekdenkamp from the Florida Young Republicans. So very robust, very America-first guest lineup. Just getting things started here on the show, it's been a busy week news-wise. I mean obviously when it comes to our podcast the RNC has been gobbling up most of our attention but there's been a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. The investigation or lack thereof or maybe even cover up into the investigation regarding President Trump's assassination attempt last week. We have the Democrat Party in absolute chaos. Apparently Joe Biden's been so bad lately. Schumer, Pelosi, Jeffries, Obama are now all leaking to the press that Joe Biden's going to be in some way, shape, or form forced out of his candidacy for re-election. It got so bad this week that he came down with COVID and we all know how that goes. But when you talk about the Democrat Party as an entity or even an apparatus, you know it's pretty sad to say that they are back in a really difficult spot again. Oh no! We suck again! It's been a while but they certainly do. And you know this comes on the back end of several interviews that Joe Biden has done. We're going to put things together, misrepresented times, places, people. We're just getting very agitated and crotcheting and drops the c'mon man. Talk about Donald Trump. Talk about his lies. Talk about his vice president. Talk about kids and cages. Oh wait, that was us. Damn it. It's bad. And then yeah, so we're going to take you guys through, here's how it's going to go. First new segment today, we're going to take you through the biggest developing headlines that have been dropping all week. And then for the rest of the entirety of our two podcasts today, so second new segment in this show, first and second new segment of the second program, is going to be full coverage of the major speaking events or ones that we have deemed necessary for you guys to hear from the RNC this week. And we've got a bunch of clips pulled. You know we do the best job we can of bringing you the best sounds from the people that are trying to make an impact positively in your life here. So we're going to hear from everybody, don't you worry about it. And we're going to jump right into the headlines here. So talking about Joe Biden and the possibility of him abandoning his candidacy, the Biden Harris team, for the most part, and up to this point have denied it. But even today, an exclusive from the Washington Post says Obama tells allies, Biden needs to seriously consider his viability. This comes after a very heated phone call he had apparently with former house speaker, Nancy Pelosi yesterday, where when she talked to him about his poll numbers, he apparently got so agitated that she said she didn't want to talk to him about it anymore and asked to talk to his senior staffer that was neither in the room or on the phone. So the news came breaking across the wire this week and we'll get you all caught up on it. Let's check it out. The Menendez verdict was coming down. I was also texting sources to confirm the existence of a new letter being circulated by congressional Democrats that effectively asks the Democratic National Committee and DNC delegates to delay the virtual roll call process that would effectively make Biden the nominee well before the convention at the end of August. Now this virtual roll call is not the norm, it's not something parties typically do, but it was put into place when Ohio had a rule on its books about when the Democrats needed to put forward their nominee in order to put that person on the Ohio ballot. But in the intervening weeks since that rule came into existence and really into tension with the Democratic nominating calendar, we've seen the state of Ohio rectify its rules now in this letter in part, more than 20 Democrats I'm told along with my colleague Scott Wong have signed on to this effort saying hey, Ohio has dealt with that rule issue, it's no longer an issue now, let's delay this virtual roll call process that could start as early as July 21st in the next few days really. This is effectively Democrats saying I know that the news cycle has turned, I know that there is attention in other places, but at the same time I don't want this silence to make people think that all Democrats are on board and behind President Biden. So interesting to see and interesting to hear it kind of developing in real time. You know, there's that clip that's going around, we kept it out of last week's show, but it was basically John King from CNN going through the electoral map that showed Donald Trump was well on his way to an electoral landslide, getting as many as 330 electoral votes in the upcoming election. Here's what I have to tell you, listen, when it comes to polls, when it comes to forecast, when it comes to all these networks having a meltdown, means nothing. What is important is what we do between now and November 5th, and what the turnout looks like between now and November 5th. It's the only thing that matters. So there's going to be so much news in between now and then that tries to take your eyes off the prize, I can tell you one group that's not doing that, and that's the Trump team. Say what you want, all these negative hit pieces coming out against Chris Lasavita and Susie Wiles, and I'll give you the story there. When and who do you see these negative pieces coming out about them are coming from, has to do with accessibility to President Trump's inner circle, and him, essentially, and that's it. You know, the door, which Donald Trump held broadly open throughout the course of most of his campaign so far, since, you know, he announced in 2022 that he would be running for re-election again, has been very broad, you know, any small news outlet, podcasts, this, that, and the other thing, have had access to him. People write pieces about him or post about him on social media. The team would repost them almost immediately and all the time, especially on true social, you get a lot of repost from President Trump of people who were, you know, providing fanfare and trying to get as close to him as possible. And here's the deal. Over the course of the last month to six weeks, I know, personally, that amount of accessibility has closed. As it does, as a major candidate, a candidate that's running for the President of the United States, gets ready to accept the nomination and, formally, run the rest of the ticket into November. Now, here's the deal. What happens is, if you're giving everybody access, you run the risk of not knowing what all of those people's, let's just say one example. Social media looks like for the last 20 years. And then you don't want to see bad stuff come back tied to that person inadvertently tied to President Trump. So the accessibility, you're going to see him do a lot less of everything and a lot more of Fox News, Newsmax, major podcast call-ins, and I'm talking like the majorist, major ones. That's it. They want to be able to hit as many people in the mainstream in an attempt to broaden the message across people who don't go outside of traditional media to get their information, period. So the last couple years of the Trump campaign was definitely enlarging, solidifying, galvanizing the base. We're there. And the people that we're adding along the way over the course of the next four months is going to be critical to how much success we have on November 5th. So just understand that. And it's really interesting to see what the Dems are doing right now to Joe Biden. And this is just going to, in my opinion, be -- it's really hard for me to see him getting off of this ticket for as much stuff that is coming out negatively here. I mean, ultimately, again, the decision is his, which essentially means this decision is Joe Biden and Hunter Biden's. And there's no constitutional way to force him out outside of the 25th Amendment that burns him for the rest of his presidency and essentially destroys his legacy. So there's just so much stuff going on behind the scenes. You just kind of got to take it for what it is in the moment. There's nothing else you could really do about it. They are going to fight to the absolute bitter end in regards to this. And, you know, maybe as a distractionary measure, over the last 24 hours, it's now been announced publicly that Joe Biden has contracted COVID again on the heels of a bunch of really terrible speaking events. The unfortunate way is how some of the mainstream media, especially those on the liberal progressive side, all those communists out there, the Joy Reads, the Nicole Wallace's, the Joe Scarborough's, the Jen Psaki's, et cetera, continue to carry water for this man and his administration, even in the face of all the negative stuff that you've seen about him personally, mental decline, questions about his physical ability to be able to -- I mean, they were showing him going up and down the stairs from Air Force One yesterday. It was a project and they need to be helped into the beast by the Secret Service. You need to be lifted up and sat down. I don't know how much COVID takes out of them, but, you know, those videos don't lie. And they were just brief clips unedited of him going up the stairs, down the stairs, and into a limo, looked terrible. Gates bad, walks bad. And then when he sits in limo, you can see him chest expanding. Like, he's out of breath, chest compressing, chest expanding, chest compressing, and then it takes off to drive away. But these people will continue to carry the water for him, probably due to, you know, future endeavors that they have lined up with the Biden team. And here's the deal. They've spun it so twistedly that they're even claiming that Joe Biden's COVID in the fact that he probably will recover from this question, Mark, should be held in the same sense or light as that of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump's life last weekend. Think of bullshit in you? Let's take it out. Here's the question that I have on that. These two men are both elderly. Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take a iconic photo op during an active shooter. But it's a very important situation. Weird situation. We'll figure that out one day. Can you believe she said that, first of all? Survival of that and bouncing right back and going right to his convention is being conveyed in the media world as a sign of strain. This current president of the United States is 81 years old and has COVID. Should he be fine in a couple of days? Doesn't that convey exactly the same thing? To have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age. So if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies, isn't that exactly the same? It's not exactly the same. It's not the same incident, but it's an elderly man coming through out of an illness. It should. Fuck you. I hate you. These people literally have no souls. No souls whatsoever. And the length that they will go to echo the party bullet points is something that I hope what goes around comes around. And once it's gone, I hope we never see it again. I had mentioned that Joe Biden had some awful speaking events and interviews over the course of the past few days. The most recent one was with BET, believe it or not. And he was questioned about several different things, exiting the race as one of them, him not being able to get the job done in comparison to what Donald Trump looks like on the campaign trail, et cetera. One of the major parts, remember, KJP, this administration, she always quotes this, historic and transparent, we know those are both, well, historically terrible, transparent, god forbid. But the thing is, when they talk about historic, it's not about legislation. It's not about how they've opened up the border and let tens of millions of people crawl in here. It's not about how they've helped start wars all over the world, tank the economy, ruin the education system, et cetera. It's how they've hired every single pronoun bearing furry in their own private time, ball gag, owning, disgusting, degenerate DEI hire in the history of mankind and brought them into this administration. Everything from Mayor Pete to that transgender health and human services woman, the guy who is also, you know, the first four star admiral that likes to wear skirts, you name it, Kamala Harris, all of them, et cetera. People that have never had any experience in any of the positions they've been appointed have simply been appointed just because they're gay or they're bi or they're trans or they're black, et cetera. When he kind of got pushed on this issue, well, you know, he's kind of forgetful with it, I never thought he would describe the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin as such, though, let's check it out. And so it's all about tuning people with dignity. And it's about making sure that women are coming, for example. Look at the heat on getting it. Because I named the Secretary of Defense, a black man, my name is Kitangi Brown. I mean, because of the people I've named. So there you have that. I can't remember Lloyd Austin's name, describes him as the black man. Then thinks the way he thinks his thoughts about what's going on. First, I guess, black person that comes to mind is the newly benched Supreme Court Justice, Kitangi Brown Jackson rattles off her name. Probably not what everyone who is watching this campaign through a microscope wants to see the current and sitting President of the United States do when describing either his cabinet level positions, major appointments, or Supreme Court justices. Then came the question about Joe Biden's health, which is kind of what started this. You know, and I'm not sure if these news outlets, like Lester Holt, the other day, BET right here, are getting outside questions other than what the Biden team is giving and then pressuring him on them, which eventually start the avalanche effect. But the question of Joe Biden's health came up and mental acuity and what could happen, what should happen, what will happen. If it's an issue that's raised by, let's just say, one of his physicians, Joe Biden actually answered the question, let's check it out. Some medical condition that emerged. If doctors came to me and said, you got this problem, that problem. But I made a serious mistake in the whole debate. And look, when I originally ran, I remember it. I said I was going to be a transitional candidate. And I thought that I'd be able to move from this to pass it on to someone else. But I didn't anticipate things getting so... So, so bad. And I don't know what he's talking about. You know, over the course, you know, he spoke at the NAACP National Summit. He did an interview with BET, Lester Holt. He talks about coming out of COVID like it was a thing. You know, COVID was essentially over when Joe Biden took office. I would say anything outside of the sapphire blue states and cities across the country had reopened. The global economy was turning the lights back on, kicking the tires. Schools were going back in session outside of places like Chicago and California, Washington, D.C., and New York City, et cetera. And then came the weaponization of the COVID vaccine. But outside of that, I really... I don't understand what he's talking about. You know, and saving the nation from COVID. It was like COVID stopped whenever they felt like they couldn't use it as a tool to herd the sheep anymore here in this country. You know, and I also had mentioned at the top, Nancy Pelosi wasn't the only person that has reached out or has had conversations with Joe Biden and his team. Chuck Schumer and have Kim Jeffries, the house minority leader, and Senate majority leader, respectively, have reached out or had closed-door meetings with Joe Biden over the last 24 to 48 hours as well. Let's check it out. The pressure from Democratic leaders for Biden to get out of the race is intensifying. In fact, one person who has been out there publicly defending Biden told me just a short while ago, Biden is going to see the whole House of Cards come down soon. As for that meeting in Rehoboth, Delaware, I am told that this was a one-on-one meeting just the Senate leader and the president and the Chuck Schumer forcefully made the case that it would be better for Biden, better for the Democratic Party, and better for the country if he were to bow out of the race. In David, when I went to Schumer's office to ask them to tell them I was going to report this and tell you this tonight, absolutely no denial from Senator Schumer's office. They only said this. Leader Schumer conveyed the views of his caucus. In other words, the views of Democratic senators. I am also told that Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader in the House, has expressed similar views directly to the president. So there you have it. I guess the big play that Dems have now. And again, people keep wishcasting and fantasizing about all of these dream tickets for the Democrats. Here comes Big Mike, Michelle Obama, O'Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom, Jaby Pritzker, etc., Josh Shapiro even. It's not going to happen. If Joe Biden's out, Kamal Harris is in. I've heard that progressive think tanks are thrown around the idea of Kamal Harris and Pete Buttigieg, the current transportation secretary. Mr. chess feeder himself on the same ticket. Here's the deal. Why? He's kind of an obscure gay, annoying figure. But he's popular within the party. He finished third in the overall primary against Joe Biden back in 2020. So he does have a little bit of political capital, even though he's looked like a complete freak and retard for the entirety of the time that he served as the transportation secretary. But cabinet level position has lasted four years. And because of the unattractiveness and where the Democrats want to go moving forward in regards to their future tickets, especially in 2028 when you have that long list of governors looking to get into the primary in addition to anyone in the house or the Senate who might be looking to move up or move into national level politics. You run Kamal Harris, checks a lot of boxes. I mean, we all know what Joe Biden has said about her. It's absolutely undeniably the way that the Democrats look at their candidates, not as their viability, but as literal pieces of meat. And you're elected to highest ranking black Indian and Indian background woman in American history. Again, his words not ours, but you burn her this year. Okay. She runs. She loses. She's done because she lost to the candidate who was a threat to democracy. One who the Democrats joked about running a third time. So because Joe Biden is 81 million votes, we're just going to lap him again. And also you take mayor Pete out of the future election cycles as well. They go off into obscurity and then you bring in the full bench completely rested for 2028. That's my angle that I'm looking at. And I guess we'll just have to see where it goes. Again, I am still 51 49 Joe Biden stays on the ticket just because of all the rules, the laws, the ballots, the money. However, if it changes, I'm thinking Kamal Harris and someone like Pete Buttigieg or Buttigieg to judge a Jason would be joining her on the ticket. And listen, pollsters could say whatever they want. She pulled it about 2% nationally out before the first primary for the Democrats in Iowa was looking to finish in like fifth or sixth place in her own state of California. And her first run for president in last cycles primary was an absolute embarrassment. So she, I mean, we've all heard her talk over the course of the last. Four years or whatever. So we'll just have to keep an eye on it over the weekend and see how many more high level meetings, how many more high level leaks, and we'll take it from there. So we're going to segue a little bit and look at some of the other, well, the other major news story that's going on right now, and that has to do with the investigation into the assassination attempt on President Trump last week up in Butler, Pennsylvania. As far as the FBI and the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security, remember, the buck stops at Alejandro Mayorkas. I know they're going after all of these agency heads, regional directors, that's all miss this and mal information. The word comes on where the investigations go, who says what and what's released to the public or to Congress from Alejandro Mayorkas, period, end of story. So anyone saying anything otherwise is full of shit and doesn't know what they're talking about. Now, when it comes to state and local law enforcement that are talking to the press, I believe that that's their own entities. However, there can be requests made from the government to continue to keep a lid on this ever developing, and at this point, it looks like going nowhere situation in regards to the investigative measures and accountability. I guess you can call her now the embattled director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheetall, had the audacity. I don't know, they've hired so many transgenders, maybe even the balls, to physically show up at the Republican National Convention this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There were reports yesterday, and on Thursday, that she was hanging around with all the high-end donors, and everyone who were in the luxury suites, sipping champagne, eating fine cheeses and meats, and rubbing elbows with all the people that, well, essentially don't give a shit about us, people like Rupert Murdoch, Lindsey Graham, and friends. When she exited the box and on her way to wherever she was going, she ran into, I guess you're going to call it a gaggle, of Republican senators led by Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, and they kind of held her up and said, "Hey, our friends in the lower chamber have sent you requests after a request, now subpoenas are out. There's been no press conferences, there's been no information given to the public. You're saying in statements that are released officially that this is a shooter that had no motive, no social media fingerprints, nothing. So for as fast as it seems like you guys are trying to wrap this up, why haven't we heard anything? Where's the accountability? Let's check it out. Hey guys, that's right, so amid all of this excitement in the backdrop, we've got some drama that is unfolding in the convention center. I'm told the Secret Service Director, Kim Chito, was in the building at a luxury suite right above us, and that two senators, Marsha Blackburn and also John Baraso, confronted her. They saw her and they started following her, we've got video of it right there, they're asking her a bunch of different questions because they felt like they didn't get to ask any questions at this senator's briefing, and of course it comes after the fact that they found out from the Secret Service today, that it, there was about 10 minute window there, where the Secret Service had identified that shooter as a threat and they still sent the president on that stage, so they tried to ask their questions and they told me that the Secret Service Director, Kim Chito, told them this is not the time and place to have this conversation, you can see in that video there, she's listening to them, but she did not answer any questions, so a little bit of drama unfolding here at the convention center, we don't know if the director actually met with Trump. Yeah, I should thank you, we're going to follow this investigation. We've come to learn that she has had a closed-door meeting with President Trump, although we don't know what the content level of that meeting has been, you know, it's really interesting the way that these cabinet level positions and presidential appointments work, you know, this woman served former vice president Dick Cheney for the greater part of six years in addition to whatever other Secret Service work she's done, you know, then she was a top executive for Frito-Lay Pepsi and then she gets appointed, I mean, coming off the streets with that much of a break in service, she probably doesn't even carry a gun, to be honest with you, she just wears a badge on the belt that goes with whatever pantsuit she's wearing that day, but this is part of the administrative state, out of the game, very dated, and you know, when you look into it, these people probably have no idea what was going on, so many breakdowns, you know, the Secret Service was dispatched and spread then as it is, you had Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, you had Jill Biden doing an event in Philadelphia, and then you had the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., so many high-profile people to be protected, and you know, the house oversight now has subpoenaed her, and the director of the FBI, we've seen post over the weekend, dated ones, albeit, we're a Victoria Newland, you know, the former, I don't know, corruption czar of Ukraine, now, has said that Donald Trump probably won't make it to the election, you have her husband, who wrote an op-ed in the Atlantic, trying to normalize and formalize assassination attempts on President Trump's life, you've got whistleblowers coming out, as you just heard by that Fox News reporter saying, it's not that they had tried to identify who this person was, this person was identified as a threat, someone who was not law enforcement with a gun that passed through security multiple times, was wandering around in plain sight, was able to get into the rally area with a rangefinder, and then there was a 10-minute window and a complete breakdown in communication or authorization to take him out before Donald Trump took the stage that should have never happened, that's the there there, and for everyone trying to play Secret Service Director, or sound more intelligent than they are, listen, unless it's one of the federal agency's tactical teams, these are just regular people, they all go through the same training, and it's kind of like a, some of the details you apply for, and some of the details you are pointed to, but it's like a lottery, it's not like they're looking for the best embrace, obviously we saw that in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday when there was a whole bunch of fat sloppy old dudes and women who would know what the fuck to do when shit hit the fan, but it's not like people who are trying to make this more than it is in regards to the importance level of the Secret Service agents who protect the president, listen, the ones who protect other people in the government are of the same caliber as the ones who protect the president, unless they are of a tactical team, which is a totally different entity, so anybody telling you different or trying to be an analyst in regards to the federal government is such an absolute disaster when it comes to the DEI hires and the administrative state, when people say there are some good men and women out there serving this country and going to work every day with the best interest, the American people at their forefront, they're not wrong, they're correct, there's just a whole lot more old, out of shape, overworked, over it, employees for all these federal agencies that have had to do the grunt work of all the fucked up policies of just about every president over the course of the last couple decades and outside of the years that Donald Trump was in office, so just keep that in mind. Nancy Mase, who's on House Judiciary, she wants some answers, House Oversight wants some answers, subpoenas are inbound, let's hear her. We're working on this and you've got some news that you want to tell us, we just learned House Speaker now has set up a special task force, that seems like a big deal and that's something next. Well, it is historic and it needs to happen, but also we've been trying to get briefed by the Director of Secret Service, so far she's not shown up, we're supposed to get briefed today. I just got off the phone with Chairman Comer, the Chairman of the Oversight Committee and expressed my support to subpoena the Director of Secret Service and I'm told that's going to happen maybe within hours today. I'm going to talk right now a little bit because I'm not shocked that she doesn't want to come in on her own volition, but that you would have to go that far to subpoena her. There's nobody around her, I mean, who does she report to? There's nobody around her to say, you know what, you've got to go take a seat now and tell people what happened. I don't believe she will show up without one and that was what I expressed to him just literally minutes ago, we're going to have to do that and so far the Secret Service has delayed a briefing of the Oversight Committee for two days now. We do not know if the Director of the Secret Service will even show up to the briefing that is scheduled today for all of Congress and we do not yet know if she's going to be the one to show up to our hearing on Monday. We're going to have to subpoena her. Congresswoman, some of the reports that have come out as they, you know, with the Secret Service delaying a briefing, they want to wait until they have all of the information. You and I talked off camera, it seems like we are learning a lot now from American citizens in and around what happened on Saturday. We're learning all of our information from American citizens and that is not the way that it should be. I learned about a ladder, we learned about the shooter being reported to law enforcement on the ground and nothing happened. With video, with video and showing them and that we learned too that the building wasn't swept and how does this happen? These kind of protocols. I also learned this week after the shooting that the Vice President, Vice President Kamala Harris, had an incident in her schedule just a month ago with a Secret Service agent and whatever happened, the meltdown the agent was having delayed the Vice President's schedule. We get major issues within the Secret Service. Certainly do. Coming across the wire today that a man who was critically injured at the Trump rally last Saturday, a 74-year-old man has been downgraded in his condition or upgraded, depending on how you're looking at it, from critical to stable and will be moving to a long-term rehab care facility soon. His statement was also one that, you know, obviously lent support to President Trump as he was one of the rally goers as well. You know, the video of Marcia Blackburn trying to chase this woman down cheetl, the Secret Service director, you know, has made its runs and I've listened to it a couple times. The audio is so bad. I'd rather just get the back end commentary. I saw the Tennessee Senator jump on with Fox News yesterday to kind of give a little bit of update on that situation. And again, it was her. It was Barasso. I believe it was Corning. It looks like Langford. You know, there were five, six senators that basically got her in the ring where the luxury boxes are and then, you know, followed her all the way up to a stairwell where her private security detail, obviously doing a lot better job than the ones out in Butler, Pennsylvania did for President Trump last week, you know, formed a human circle around her and was able to create some distance between the Secret Service director and the angry mob of senators. But Marcia Blackburn continued to, she even ran, you know, like I'm saying, they tried to put space between them. And she entered some kind of allowance where there was people eating and drinking and Marcia Blackburn, you know, past secret service agents trying to stand there, put their arms up. She just pushed him down, pushed right back to the front and was like, what the hell you're doing? What's the fucking deal? We have this digital meeting yesterday. We're not allowed to ask questions. And then, you know, she wanted some answers on accountability for the complete breakdown. You know, there's whistleblowers coming out now within the Secret Service, talking about that, talking about an incident. We reported it on the show. You know, we went over it. Kamala Harris had one of her female Secret Service agents have an absolute breakdown a little over a month ago, which delayed her schedule. She had to be restrained, thrown on light duty and investigated. I also heard believe, listen to this, two local PD who were part of a bike detail in Pennsylvania. They were tasked and assigned to working Jill Biden's event in Philadelphia on Saturday. So they did what I would hope every blue-blooded American Trump supporter would do. They both fucking called in sick and went to the Trump rally. Well, when the videos came across the internet and lo and behold, just show happened to those two bike cops from Pennsylvania helping the wounded off of the risers, they were called in for review by their supervisors. And when it turned out that they weren't sick, we're taking off of the bike detail and essentially put on desk duty. So that's what's going on right now with this. Let's hear the Tennessee senators. She kind of gets a recap of her run-in, both literally and figuratively with the Secret Service Director at the RNC yesterday. I mean, I think everybody wants answers. Maybe even some of our own people don't happen. One deserves answers. The taxpayers of this country, President Trump, his team, we all deserve to know what happened. People are astounded that someone could get to that building and take a clean line of sight shot at President Trump. And it is just God's divine providence that saved his life. True story. Much on the news right now, Kid Rock is doing a sound check. So it looks like he'll be performing tonight at the RNC. Also rumors that 50 Cent is going to be there. Tucker Carlson, Hulk fucking Hogan. Can't wait. Last night's always the best. I mean, there's always, you know, senior leadership within the Republican Party, this guy's a chair, that guy's a director, Mike Pompeo. Oh, the fuck cares. What people have been really clamoring for is Donald Trump. You know, and while Joe Biden is out on the campaign trail telling people that Donald Trump wanted to weaponize the National Guard against them when they were peacefully protesting during the summer of love after the George Floyd overdose. America has been clamoring for the leader of the party, you know, getting bits and pieces, tidbits, tastes over the course of the last week. And since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. And while it's been so reassuring to see President Trump take to the convention floor every night, coming out to it's a man's world one day. And John Rich literally singing God bless the USA another. I'm really hoping I feel like they're going to go Kid Rock, but man, many men 50 Cent got to do it in real life at some point. You have to. The whole Trump team knows the meme. And we've just wanted reassurance that President Trump was okay. You know, his ears bandaged up, see emotional responses from his family throughout the course of the week, either when he's getting a standing ovation for something or the speakers are paying homage and bending the knee and kissing the ring and coalescing behind the ticket of him and JD Vance, some for the first time. But I guess in a little bit more private setting and what some are calling leaked video Donald Trump did informally address a group this week and the video leaked online. So before we hear the formal acceptance speech from the President later tonight, let's check out this soundbite here. That was an amazing, horrible thing, amazing thing. In many ways, it changes your your attitude, your viewpoint on life. And I think honestly, I think you appreciate God even more really because something happened. It wasn't like it was a completeness, but it was pretty terrible that that could happen and it happens too often. We have things going on just crime in our country so bad and things are going on with our country. We're going to fix it. We're going to make it. Coming from the prisons, you know, the South American countries. And by the way, this is coming from all over the world where people are coming for us. The problem I talk about to me, it's the border, it's so big. In 2016, it was the border and we fixed it. And I kept saying, "Well, let's talk about it for 2020." The people said, "By all my genius is saying, "Oh, no, we can't talk about that." You've already fixed it. I said, "I want to talk about the border." I fixed it. Nobody's interested. The fact is, in 2016, we had a really bad border, but it was a tiny fraction of what it is now. When it was in 2016, we'll take it right now. It was so much. It was much better. And I fixed it easily. We built hundreds of miles in the wall, like, wall without the wall. You wouldn't have, it would be 10 times worse off than you are right now if that's possible. And I'm not sure it's possible because people are flowing in by the millions and millions. I think it's going to be 20 million. By the time we get this guy out, we have to get him out. If we don't get him out, we're not going to have a country. We're really okay. And again, when that kind of broke and made it its way around the interwebs this week, a lot of people will reassure that Donald Trump, I guess, physically, is doing okay. You know, you can never tell emotionally what's going on with the man. He'll talk about it eventually. He might even talk about it in his acceptance speech tonight. But you have to be able to try to comprehend what him and his family have gone through in the culmination of what almost happened last weekend in Pennsylvania. Absolutely amazing the times we're living in right now. And, you know, as our probably listenership in most of America is thankful that Donald Trump is okay. We're going to leave it at that and jump right into our complete and comprehensive coverage with the best highlights of the last three days of the RNC. But before we do that, a first check in with one of our partners. I think it's time we had a conversation about a good night's sleep. This was a spot that we had reserved on our show originally for Florida Congressman Cory Mills, however, due to a scheduling conflict. He'll be joining us on the program next week. We now take you directly into our new segment and beginning of our coverage of the RNC convention. Now Baby Dog's got a prediction for everybody here, and here's a prediction. Baby Dog says, "We'll retain the house, the majority in the house. We're going to flip the United States Senate." And overwhelmingly, we're going to elect Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance in November. And Baby Dog says, "What is the reason that she knows why we're going to win?" And the answer is one thing, because we're worth it. God bless you. God bless this great country, and God bless Donald J. Trump. All right, I'm jumping back into the news portion of the show here. It was great catching up with the Congressman, and that was West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, who was speaking on behalf of America's Bulldog, Baby Dog. As we're getting into our comprehensive coverage of the Republican National Convention, we're going to spend the rest of our two episodes here bringing you the highlights from the greatest of speakers and the messages that they were shooting out across the airwaves to Americans who are in need right now. Cool programming notes. You know, it's just coming across the wire here today, and it is with a very heavy heart that trailblazing journalist and great friend of President Trump, Lou Dobbs, has passed away. The announcement was made yesterday via President Trump's true social account. I will read this statement now as the family is for certain in mourning. This is from Donald Trump's account right now. The Great Lou Dobbs has just passed away, a friend and truly incredible journalist, reporter and talent. He understood the world and what was happening better than others. Lou was unique in so many ways, and he loved our country. Our warmness condolences to his wonderful wife, Debbie, and his family. He will be greatly missed. Just really unfortunate ways to see how this kind of, you know, all shaped out. It's been a rough week for America. Lots of deaths, you know, some actors and political figures, and it's just been a tough time. I'm having a tough time here at the State for Breakfast Studios as well. Not like our personal problems outweigh those of any others, but my little sister passed away this week. She just turned 39 in May of this year, and didn't have any health problems. Waiting to find out the results, you know, from the medical staff on what they conclude. However, the initial ruling was a pulmonary embolism. So yeah, it can be kind of dealing with that here, but as is the case with any other day, the sun comes up, and if you are blessed by the Lord to make it, you put on your pants, tie your shoes, and you add it into the world and try to make it a better place. You know, in the space of tragedy, you try to re-put things into perspective that you normally may take for granted just because of the grinds and rigors of the daily process, and whether it's as a husband, or a father, a co-worker, or a friend, you know, it's unfortunate that sometimes tragedies like death will force a person to internally recalibrate, however, I'm okay with it. I trust the Lord's plan. You know, it's really unfortunate for my sister, her children, her husband, etc., what happened, but you know, in the grandeur scheme of things and in the holiest of informations that I'm not privy to yet, I look at it this way. My father and all four of my grandparents, amongst other family members, etc., got a unforeseen surprise earlier this week with my sister joining them in heaven. So as is the case, we'll continue to move on and move on with a couple great episodes of the show here, Arizona senatorial candidate, Kerry Lake, took to the stage earlier this week, she had a message for the media, as I think we all do, we're fed up with the fake news, we're fed up with the skewed narratives, we're fed up with the omissions of great works that happened here at America First, and Kerry Lake was up to the challenge and taking them to task, let's check it out. Actually, actually, wait a minute, I don't mean that, I don't welcome everybody in this meeting, in this room, the guys up in the fake news, frankly, all right, frankly, you guys up there in the fake news have worn out your welcome, you've worn it out guys, you have spent the last eight years lying about President Donald Trump and his and his amazing patriotic supporters, actually, guys, they lie about everything, they lie about Joe Biden's health, the economy, the laptop, the border, I could go on and on and on, but the really good news is that every day more and more people are turning off the fake news and they're, that's right, and Americans are waking up to the truth about the disastrous democrat policies pushed by Joe Biden and his favorite congressman, my opponent, Ruben Gallego. It was great to hear Kerry as she's going through her race, you know, outside of a couple in particulars, I was extremely pleased with the lineups on all the nights of the RNC so far, you know, whether it was some of our favorite America first congressman and women, senators, governors, chairman, people in leadership positions, and then some of the people outside of the political spectrum, World War II veterans, family members of those who have lost children to migrant crimes, those who have lost loved ones due to the drug epidemic that Joe Biden has facilitated by bending the knee to the cartels and to the Chinese. Working men and women who just can't make ends meet anymore, you know, where there's cause for unity in the wake of what happened regarding the fallout from the assassination attempt on President Trump, we have to be able to circle the wagons and do it at a time when the Democrats are on the rope. Elise Stefanik, one of the leadership positions in the Republican House, had a wonderful speaking event. She has provided a strong voice in the House of Representatives, an ardent supporter of President Trump, and was probably closer to a finalist for getting a hard, long look at the VP bid than most people will ever know. You know, she checks a lot of boxes, she's put in a lot of work, and she's booked the trend in the House of Representatives by voting against leadership on multiple occasions on things that she doesn't consider America first. I'm gonna play an excerpt from her speaking event right here. Let's check it out. Good evening, Milwaukee! We always say that this is the most important election in our lifetime. But we know deep down, this one truly is. Our Constitution and the soul of our very nation are on the ballot. Under Joe Biden, the American people have suffered crisis after crisis. From the Biden border, the most wide open border in our nation's history, to Bidenflation, the highest rate of inflation in my lifetime, devastating, hard-working families with skyrocketing prices for groceries, gas, and utilities, to Biden's violent crime crisis, fueled by Democrats, pro-criminal, sanctuary cities, and deep on the police policies like we have seen in my home state of New York. All while corrupt Democrat prosecutors and judges wage illegal and unconstitutional law fair against President Trump in an effort to do Joe Biden's political bidding. And around the world, the feckless and failed Joe Biden has caused chaos, weakening our national security. From the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, to Putin's invasion of Ukraine, to Hamas's terrorist attack against our most precious ally Israel. And let me ask you a question. What has been the response from the radical left on our college campuses, violent anti-Semitism, chanting "Death to Israel," "Death to Jews," "Death to America." This is Joe Biden's Democrat party. Who saw that congressional hearing with the college presidents of so-called elite universities? Oh wait, they are former presidents. You know, I asked one simple question at that hearing. It was not a political question. It was a moral question, and that was this. Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate your university's code of conduct? And one, after the other, after the other, said it depends on the context. Let me tell you, America knows it does not depend on the context. President Trump will bring back moral leadership to the White House, condemning anti-Semitism and standing strong with Israel and the Jewish people. President Trump will once again deliver the most secure border in our nation's history and unleash the American economy. And he will bring peace through strength as commander-in-chief, standing with our allies and causing our enemies to fear us. President Trump has done it before, and he will do it again. This November, we are counting on you. We the people to save America by electing President Donald J. Trump. And we'll leave it at that. You know, her reflection on one of the strongest points from her time in the 118th Congress this year in regards to challenging the university presidents on the rampant anti-Semitism and pro-Palestinian riots essentially that were happening on all these college campuses was really a notch on her belt in regards to maneuvering her way to the forefront of House Republican leadership. And I thought it was great to see her kind of rehash that. And I think moving forward, we're going to be seeing a lot more from Chairwoman Stefanik, if not in the 119th session of Congress, then as a future member of the Trump administration next year. While our Trump co-chair of the RNC, wife to Eric, took to the stage and was looking to hit a home run in regards to capitalizing on her messaging. And that goes greatly in part to the work that she's done since assuming a leadership position with the RNC with co-chair Michael Wally. Not only have they put on an amazing display of leadership and reinvigoration throughout the conservative, I guess, apparatus in regards to fundraising and attendance events, the work that they've put in and President Trump has put in coinciding with that. That's showed a strong resignation in the polls. Listen, there are a lot of people who are complaining and a lot of that has to do with the fact that they're froze out. So the loudest voices out there on social media, especially from the conservative side, people that you typically wouldn't see complaining, trying to throw up red flags, trying to throw up warning signs, Donald Trump did it the right way. He brought in his family and he brought in people he trusted. He's vetted them over the course of the last couple years, probably has given them opportunities to leak, included them in privy to information that others wouldn't to see if it would spread around, et cetera. I think those who have stumbled are no longer as involved as they might have been or were. And now I think he's running with the, you know, in sports, you call it peak season, where your workouts are very precise, very targeted and very intense. And that's what we're going to be heading into at the conclusion of the Republican National Convention. It'll be peak season for the election four months or less straight to the ballot box. Here's Laura Trump talking about some of the strongest points of her father-in-law at the RNC era earlier this week. There's no doubt that Saturday was one of the most frightening moments of my father-in-law's life. Millimeters separated him from life and certain death. And yet it was in the midst of it all as he was jostled off stage by Secret Service that he knew how defining that moment would be for our country. And he hoisted his fist in the air. It was not just for the audience at the rally, not just for his supporters tuning in, but for all of America. And as a signal to the world that no matter what, America will always prevail. Though it's been strained and attacked, no enemy, no force, not even a bullet is strong enough to break our American grit and our American soul. We are the country whose founders gave their fortunes, freedom and lives to pursue the dream of a free society. We are the country of Thomas Edison, Susan B. Anthony, Henry Ford and Harriet Tubman. We are the country who fought and won two World Wars. And we are the country who always rises to meet the moment, no matter how insurmountable the task. And in that split second on Saturday, Donald Trump reminded us all of that very history and who we are at our core as a nation. That is the Donald Trump that I know. She would go on to make several other great points and policy references, but then refocused the part of her speaking portion inward and talked about herself and her family and the support that she's gotten from Donald Trump over the years and how she might not be as a public or prominent figure in Republican politics today. If it wasn't for the constant backing and enthusiastic support of her father-in-law, Donald Trump, let's listen. And if not for the support and encouragement of my father-in-law, I wouldn't be where I am today. It's been said by many that Donald Trump sees things in people that they don't even recognize in themselves. In 2016, when he asked me to help him win my home state of North Carolina, I'll be honest, I was terrified. I had no idea how I would make it happen, but he knew I would, and I did. When I was given an opportunity to join a television network as a commentator, it was the push and support of my father-in-law that gave me the confidence to take that job. Always the first one to call or text me after a TV hit and tell me, "Great job. Keep going." Not bad, right? Or even a few months ago, when he called and asked me to be the co-chair of our party, you know, and there is a side to Donald Trump. It's veiled, but you see glimpses of it. These videos sometimes that his kids or his in-laws will post of the moment, like when the grandchildren enter the room, and they all run up to him and jump on him, or he's riding the golf cart with Barron, you know, you saw it at the RNC this week. The words of Don Jr. and Laura Trump, Eric Trump, before he spoke last night, and, you know, the emotional reaction everyone saw, Don Jr. kind of shaken up. When his father entered the RNC and onto the floor for the first time, almost coming to tears, the back room, just warmness of him interacting with his family and some of these immense political figures throughout the week, the fact that Donald Trump, like, is going to put it all down. And before he does a rally this weekend, you know, attend the funeral of the man that was killed in Butler, Pennsylvania last week. Donald Trump was one of the first, probably the largest political figure because, you know, Joe Biden in the White House doesn't care to reach out to the family in the wake of the tragedy when he lost his life at the Trump rally. You know, and you just don't, you only see glimpses of that stuff, but you have to understand, there's like a family unit. Obviously, this exists. And when we can be led into such a large political figures, personal space, and talk about the warmness and the wholesomeness that Donald Trump admits in the most intimate moments with his family, private moments that he'd probably rather don't go public. You know, you have to take into consideration that he's not just a president, he's not just a billionaire, he's not just a media personality. He's a man, a husband, a father, a brother, a friend, and, you know, the way these things are in such a drive-by headline, the way we examine the news now, sometimes get missed. We'd rather him hit the funny talking point and see his grandkids jump up on him at the RNC when he's sitting down watching the people speak and give them hugs. But I think it adds a whole nother layer of attractability. You know, the patriarch, the Trump family vibe. I like it. You know what else I liked? I liked that Vivek Ramaswami was bringing the heat. I thought he gave an excellent speaking point. You know, there's been a lot of news circulating about him in regards to his status and where he's going to go, you know, we've heard things. Vivek's been receiving training and that, you know, he's talked about maybe either being offered or wanting to fill a cabinet-level position in the next Trump administration. But now that JD Vance has been tapped to be the vice president of the United States to complete the ticket with Donald Trump, there's a lot of speculation from within the party on whether or not he'd fill that seat for the rest of the term. Three years, give him some good experience, allow him maybe to run for reelection or launch another national campaign in an attempt to become the Republican nominee in 2028. So here's a clip of Vivek who, like I said, was bringing the heat last night and talking about worry a little bit less about the DEI and worry a little bit more that in this moment in time you're actively involved. Let's check it out. We're in the middle of a national identity crisis right now. Faith, patriotism, hard work, and family have disappeared, only to be replaced by race, gender, sexuality, and climate. But we're not going to win this election just by criticizing the other side. We're going to win this by standing for our own vision of who we really are. What does it mean to be a Republican in the year 2024? What does it mean to be an American in the year 2024? It means we believe in the ideals of 1776. It means we believe in merit that you get ahead in this country, not on the color of your skin, but on the content of your character and your contributions. It means we believe in the rule of law. And I say this as the kid of legal immigrants to this country. That means your first act of entering this country cannot break the law. That is why we will seal the southern border on day one. It means the people who we elect to run the government ought to be the ones who actually run the government, not unelected bureaucrats in the deep state. These are not black ideas or white ideas. They are not even Democrat ideas or Republican ideas. They are American ideas that we fought a revolution to secure. And the man who will revive these ideals in the United States of America is your next president, the 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump. Good stuff. I liked it. I think, you know, he did a lot of media throughout the week, gave a lot of great interviews, talked about ending birthright citizenship, talked about the largest deportation operation in the history of the galaxy, hint hint, wink wink. But we'll have to see what happens. A lot of buzz about him filling that senate seat right now. Don't know if it's just hyperbole or even had a segment the other day when he was on one of the news outlets doing a co-interview with Eric Trump, where Eric Trump said, I fully endorse Vivek Ramaswamy to be my vice president in 2032. So, you know, we'll have to see what happens. There's rally in the troops and the feel good, which is the feel good of this week at the RNC. And there is what is legitimately going to happen in the next few weeks and months. So, we'll stay on it. Speaker Mike Johnson hit the floor numerous times throughout the week, as he was essentially the MC of the Republican National Convention, introducing people, musical acts, bringing us to interludes and back to the program. He did also have the opportunity to speak at one point. I pulled a brief clip of what he was saying, pulling the party line, towing the party messaging, and being a strong defender of Donald Trump's candidacy. Let's listen. The public and party stands for the foundational truths that made America the greatest nation in the history of the world. We are the most free, the most powerful, the most benevolent nation that has ever been. It's not even close. It's not even close. But we have no guarantee that this grand experiment itself, governance, can endure unless we respond to the call to keep it. Two hundred forty-eight years ago, we boldly proclaimed in our declaration that all men are created equal, not born equal, created equal, and that we're endowed by our Creator with certain and alienable rights. See, we understand that our rights do not come from government. They come from God. There's another thing that we recognize. We recognize that we are made in His image. And because of that, every single person has inestimable dignity and value, and your value is not related in any way to the color of your skin, what zip code you live in, where you come from, what your talents are, or what you can contribute to society. Your value is inherent because it is given to you by your Creator. That's what we stand for. And you would expect as much of a God-centered message from the speaker who is a very spiritual man as the one that he delivered the other night in his speaking portion of the RNC programming. Guys, wherever you're listening to the show today, hope you're enjoying it so far. Welcome. Do us big favor. Remember, stake for breakfast is always going to be free. You know, there were, I don't want to say self-invitees, even though President Trump kind of alluded to it when the camera hand to him during her speaking portion of the event. But tricky, Nikki, Haley, and meatball Ron DeSantis. I've bunched him up for us so we could kind of just get him in, get him out as fast as they can, wish them well on their flights back to the free state of Florida in South Carolina, following when they spoke at the RNC. And you want to know what? Listen, there was a lot of messaging of unity coming together. There was a lot of messaging of being strong and seizing the moment, but you have to admit there was a little bit of bending the knee and kissing the ring. And in the case of these two, I surely would have liked to hope that behind the scenes there was a little of both. You know, they didn't unabashedly endorse Donald Trump publicly after they got out of the race. Nikki Haley just recently releasing her delegates so that they can pledge them to Donald Trump during the nominating process at the convention. And then Ron DeSantis, you know, saying like, I'm getting behind Donald Trump because there's essentially nobody left and they're not really doing anything for him over the course of the last several months. But here we are. One team, one fight, one convention, starting off with Nikki Haley. Let's take it out. Our country is at a critical moment. We have a choice to make. For more than a year, I said a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for President Kamala Harris. After seeing the debate, everyone knows it's true. If we have four more years of Biden, or a single day of Harris, our country will be badly worse off. For the sake of our nation, we have to go with Donald Trump. But there's more to it than that. We should acknowledge that there are some Americans who don't agree with Donald Trump 100% of the time. I happen to know some of them. You happen to be one of them. And I want to speak to them tonight. My message to them is simple. You don't have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him. [CHEERING] Take it from me. I haven't always agreed with President Trump. But we agree more often than we disagree. [CHEERING] We agree on keeping America strong. [CHEERING] We agree on keeping America safe. And we agree that Democrats have moved so far to the left that they're putting our freedoms in danger. [CHEERING] I'm here tonight because we have a country to save. And a unified Republican party is essential for saving her. You know, having unfortunately listened to it again. I watched it in real time when I was cutting audio last night and now here with y'all. Man, you never seen someone that wants to just interject themselves into something where they know they're not welcome. But they also know they can cause a ruckus. And Nikki Haley is that person. You know, if there's one thing that I hope has been made clear to the incoming transition team for President Trump, it's that she is nowhere near the next administration period. She will 100% be the first admin official to stab President Trump in the back publicly when either she doesn't agree with one of his policy decisions or something he does is seen negatively in the mainstream press. She will be a leaker if it's what she would consider bad, then it will be more overt. And I just think she is extremely toxic. She got what she wanted. It was funny because, you know, when she eluded to the fact that Donald Trump invited her there to speak, they panned to him in the audience and he looked and said like, she wanted to talk. She wanted to talk. Here we go. And she went into one of her Nikki Haley's that nobody could fucking stand because it's like nails being ripped down a chalkboard. But Donald Trump did get from her what he hoped he'd get when she showed up. Let's hear it. I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear. Donald Trump has my strong endorsement period. [Cheering] And the biggest applause that Nikki Haley would garner throughout the course of her seven plus minutes of speaking on the floor was when she literally bent the knee and kissed the ring of the party leader. Finally, moving on now and we're going to keep it moving. You know, off to admit, we saw two different Rhonda Santises over the years, right? The charismatic, take it to the deep state guy who lost weight and listened to his wife and handlers and absolutely lost the magic on the presidential primary campaign trail. And now what he's resorted back to, kind of rolly-polly jolly. Fatron is what I like to call him. You know, and out of these off the Ozambic and not worried about being on the national stage as much, the pounds have poured back on. He's filled back out and he looks like he's living large. He was there last night after an invite from President Trump and, you know, talking about all this stuff that Rhonda Santis usually talks about combating the woke and the Democrats not knowing what a gender is and he said the free state of Florida a couple times and, you know, you get all the Rhonda Santis-isms that you'd expect. We're going to jump right into it here. He actually had a banger and actually made President Trump laugh. Let's check it out. America cannot afford four more years of a weekend at Bernie's presidency. But I won't do Rhonda Santis like that. He actually did have a nice thorough and laid out speaking portion of the RNC program and we're going to play a little bit longer of an excerpt right here. Let's check it out. Now, none of this is easy, but it can be done. For decades, my home state saw elections determined by razor thin margins. Today, due to bold leadership, the Democratic Party lies in ruins. The left is in retreat. Freedom reigns supreme. The woke mind virus is dead and Florida is a solid Republican state. Now, electing Donald Trump gives us the chance to do this all across America. And we have a responsibility to step up and make it happen. We have a responsibility to preserve what George Washington called the sacred fire of liberty. This was a fire that burned an independence hall in 1776 when 56 men's pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to establish this nation. It's a fire that burned at a cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, when our nation's first Republican president pledged this nation to a new birth of freedom. It's a fire that burned at the foot of the Berlin Wall in 1987, when our nation's 40th president stood in front of that wall and said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." This is not a responsibility we should fear. It's a responsibility we should welcome. After all, if not us who and if not now when. Let's make the 45th president of the United States the 47th president of the United States. Let's elect Republicans up and down the ballot and let's heed the call of our party's nominee to fight, fight, fight for these United States. Thank you. God bless you. You know, I have to be honest with you. I mean, it was about halfway through those nearly three minutes of speech. They panted Donald Trump. He looked to whoever was sitting to his right and said twice. It's a good speech. It's a good speech. Where is that Rhonda Santa's bid? You know, glad he's fired everybody from his failed presidential campaign and also glad that he's hired on some people that write some absolute heaters. I thought, you know, out of all the speakers who I thought were going to underperform, he was definitely on my underperforming side. And after hearing him speak and seeing the double chin and the man boobs jiggling and how much he was into it. And then he actually brought some intensity to the convention for you heard the audience was was deeply involved and invested in his words. Good job by the Florida governor. Fat Ron is way better than presidential primary, Ozempic Ron. And I was thankful that you know, he was able to swallow his pride and check his ego and make it seem like he's 100% behind this presidential ticket. That's what it's going to take. Listen, when you talk about the gang of losers who still failed to show up for the convention, you know, what can you say about them? They're all terrible people. And I saw a post out on X this morning. It was like, you know, an excerpt from a new segment that was talking about these people that didn't show up. Liz Cheney, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Mike Pence, they didn't even have fat ass Chris Christie in the graphic number one, because he wouldn't have been able to fit with all the other ones. And number two, he's providing onsite analysis, sitting there coping and seething from one of the luxury boxes as a part of ABC News's Republican national convention coverage. So, you know, when you talk about those names that were rattling off here, they are completely irrelevant to the big scheme of things. They are the old garb and what you're seeing in real time with people like Vivec and Laura Trump and Carrie Lake and all of these speakers that we saw, Ben Carson, Tom Homan, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Speaker Johnson, that's such a hodgepodge of different personalities and things that everybody brings. The old guard of the Republican party is dead. And Donald Trump and JD Vance continue to refit the face of the new populist America first Republican party. It's definitely not the party of your grandparents. And a lot of people say, well, in some aspects, this looks a whole lot more liberal than it does conservative. I want to be conservative like Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell. Ah, shut the fuck up. Listen, the days of a little tax break and promising to have immigration reform are over. And the moment of mass deportations, safety, security, and strength are here again. If you don't like it, if some of the policies might lean in one direction or another, then you're more comfortable with have an open mind. Everything seems to be working pretty damn good before COVID. The first time the guy had a shot out of it, and he's a whole lot wiser. And if you look at his track record, I'll be completely honest with you. It's hard to find Donald Trump making the same mistake twice. Last one I've got before we jump in with Indiana Congresswoman Aaron Houchin, the man who was tabbed as Mr. Secretary by President Trump on the phone call when he was told that he wasn't going to be the vice presidential pick. North Dakota Governor Doug Bergum could be a stand in for George Washington if they ever did a docu drama about him. Really harped on the fact that we have to not only become energy independent again, but become energy dominant in the world and help shuffle the pecking order when it comes to how the world receives their energy. Let's check it out. Feels good to be here. The last time I was in Milwaukee in this building standing behind a podium was for the debate, and I stood on one leg for two hours. Guys might remember I blew my Achilles the day before, but to kick things off I have a question for you, and I need your help answering so nice and so loud that everyone at home can hear you. Are you ready? Who will make America energy dominant? Again, who will make America energy dominant? Well that's pretty good, but it's after 4 p.m. in DC, so how about one more time loud enough to wake up Joe Biden? Who will make America energy dominant? That's right, because when President Trump unleashes American energy, we unleash American prosperity, and we ensure our national security. Serving as a governor with President Trump was like having a beautiful breeze at our back. He cut taxes, and he cut red tape. Serving as a governor under Joe Biden has been like a gale force win in our face. Biden's war on energy hurts every American, because the cost of energy is in everything we use or touch every day. Biden's red tape has raised the price of the gas in your car, the cost of food on your table, the clothes on your back, and it's even raised your rent. Biden's green agenda feels like it was written by China, Russia, and Iran. Let's look at Biden's EV mandates. Where do nearly all the batteries and rare earth minerals come from? China, you know, and the day that Biden halted permits for clean US natural gas export facilities, just think about the party they must have thrown that night at the Kremlin. You know, it was some really strong messaging on the shift of Joe Biden's current foreign policy and look on the way energy is produced here or not, and all of the regulations and restrictions he's crippled the energy sector with canceling pipelines, denying liquid natural gas from being sent around the world, and regulating everything to the nth degree to where, you know, people who are looking to invest in American energy know that it's not financially worth it at this point based off the fact that Joe Biden has no interest in anything to do with our interest in the energy sector and only wants to invest into the climate mobs Green New Deal. Going to play the end of Governor Bergham's speech here as we're getting ready to wrap and jump in with Congresswoman Hoachin. President Trump cares deeply about every American, rig workers, truck drivers, roughnecks, and yes, America's great farmers and ranchers. President Trump cares deeply about you. We know that he'll fight for us, he'll fight for our families, and we know one more thing. He'll let all of you keep driving your gas powered cars. When President Trump unleashes energy dominance, he will make America affordable again, he will make America strong again, and when President Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance together, they will make America great again. I thought it was a great piece by the North Dakota governor, you know, and hearing some of these people talk the energy level that Vivek brings and what they're looking to possibly task him with in the future administration. The stoic nature that Doug Bergham kind of presents his case for American energy independence and dominance. We heard Tim Scott, we heard from Marco Rubio, and we heard from Ben Carson. I think that President Trump made the right pick in selecting J.D. Vance. You know, for all the things that he brings to the table, end the method of delivery that he brings in. So we're going to kind of leave it at that and be jumping in with Indiana Congresswoman Aaron Houchin right now, and we'll be back with another whole new edition of the podcast in just a bit and continue our coverage of the Republican National Convention. But before we do, another check in with one of our partners. This episode of the podcast is brought to you as always by Manrubs. Rubs, barbecue tools, blow torches, t-shirts, coffee cups, and all around barbecue related gear for you to make barbecue great again can be found at manrubs.com at an Instagram, Manrubs. Music goes steak 15 to 15 percent off your order. All right, joining us next on the show today, this big Friday edition of the Stake Breakfast podcast. She's the congressman who represents Indiana's ninth congressional district, always glad to catch up with representative Aaron Houchin. Welcome back to the show. Thank you for having me. Always a pleasure. So RNC week big week, but before we could talk about the messaging and the unity, I think we still need to touch on the fallout as we're getting all the commentary we can on it from the assassination attempt on President Trump last week up in Butler, Pennsylvania. In addition to literally God's hand touching the situation and some of the tragedy that still came from the event with people losing their lives being critically injured, you have to talk about also the massive security and communication and structural failure of the federal agencies and adjacent law enforcement that was tasking and protecting President Trump and securing the scene. Just kind of how you saw it. Take us through the weekend for you and your office, Congresswoman. And then let's just kind of let our listenership here your angle on it. Yeah, so thank you for asking. I was at home in the district over the weekend actually just having dinner with my husband and my phone during dinner time. Our phones are not right in front of us and that's purposeful. So when the phone started buzzing, it was all kinds of alerts and friends and family wanting to know if we had seen what just had just happened horrifically unfold on live television where the former president was nearly assassinated. Following that, we've had conversations with the speaker of the house about how to how we can get to the bottom of what the security lapses were. It's clear that there were glaring errors whether you are a professional law enforcement person or not. You know, I'm a layperson and could tell you that there's no way that they should not have had that rooftop covered in eyesight within 150 yards of the president. That was a that was a severe failure in security. It's why you see the inspector general today announcing or announcing that the they will of the Department of Homeland Security, they will investigate the lapses of the secret service. This isn't the first time there have been lapses in the secret service. These are the people who many of which are very, very good and dedicated and talented men and women, but we cannot have there's no room for error in this in their line of work and we have to get to the bottom of what happened. You know, and just from your opinion of standpoint, how hard do you think congressional Republicans are willing to push back on this narrative? Because I mean, if you look at the metric of methodology when it comes to accountability from the Biden administration and use the gold standard as the Afghanistan withdrawal, I mean, there were more promotions and firings. As a matter of fact, there were no firings and the only thing, you know, that was lost in the retreat from Afghanistan was the lives of 13 servicemen and women and nearly 40 others who have been scarred for life. So, you know, I mean, thank God that President Trump wasn't hurt. Unfortunate for the people that did lose their lives and those that were critically injured in what happened in Pennsylvania last week. But I mean, when you take a look at, you know, the totality of how the administration looks at holding their, you know, agency heads, et cetera, accountable. It doesn't seem like they're very much interested in it because it looks like a defeat for them when they are. It is one failure after another under the Biden administration starting and then I would say starting with Afghanistan, if not, you know, I guess starting with opening the southern border, you know, that's and then not and then encouraging 10 million people to come in here illegally. No one, I can't name a single person that has been fired from the Biden administration for anything. And particularly the top people say for maybe the one guy that stole the luggage. Yeah, that's that's maybe the only person who has ever had any sort of accountability at all. And this is someone needs to be fired over over the lapses in security. The House Republicans are determined to get to the bottom of it with the three letter agencies under the Biden administration. It is incumbent upon House Republicans not to just trust what they're telling us, but to verify. And that's what we intend to do through our own, you know, the speaker announced a task force that he's putting together to investigate this and have an independent investigation from House Republicans. But that highlights the importance of electing Republicans in November. Electing Donald Trump will be amazing. I think that he will be put back in office, but we can't lose sight of the fact that we also need to safeguard the elections for the US House and the US Senate, so that we can get some some finally get some accountability and actually drain this wall. No, it's some great points you make. And it's going to be interesting to see. I think Speaker Johnson's been a good job coming out publicly and calling for the secret service director to step down in addition to, you know, looking to provide oversight for the American public to see Jamie Comer before the dust even settled in Pennsylvania had a letter to the secret service administrator saying that this is unacceptable. And they'd like, I mean, obviously they pushed back on that and haven't met with them yet. It's an Alejandro, a New Yorkist government agency. So you only expect that at the very least. But I do think that Republicans are up to the task on this. And listen, they can burn as much of the candles they want up until November, because if we're not going to get the answers we get now, we'll definitely get them in the next section of Congress as well. So I do want to kind of move on and talk about the celebratory nature of the week. The entirety of the Republican movement has centered into Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the Republican National Convention. I think the first three nights have shown us some amazing speakers. Great topics, obviously, ones that coincide with gender 47. Donald Trump was officially confirmed as a nominee. He named his vice presidential pick. So before we get to maybe what some of the speakers or the messaging that you liked was all about, how do you feel about the completion of the ticket with Donald Trump and JD Vance now heading it? Yeah, I think JD Vance is a great pick. You know, this is pretty evident that he doesn't, he doesn't need JD Vance to win Ohio. You know, Donald Trump is going to win Ohio with or without JD Vance, but the president is running very strong in many states. And this pick allows him to pick someone who first was not an original supporter of President Trump, but became a believer. And his personal story speaks to that of most Americans that are feeling the burden of Biden, Bidenomics right now. He had a very tough upbringing, was able to overcome that. So I think when we hear from JD Vance, we're going to hear his personal story, which will be an incredible message for the country to hear. That is going to inspire, I think, an even bigger and better Republican party. And that's the message that we've heard all week from all across the spectrum of really, it's not even ideology. It's more of a life experience. All of these different, just real life experiences that we're hearing and the harms done by the Biden administration and on families and individuals. And we could go down the list of that, but this is going to be a unifying ticket. And I think it's going to carry through November with success. And we're going to see a great next Trump Vance administration. And when you talk about JD Vance's rise was in the party. I mean, he obviously talks about, you know, coming from a broken home in extreme poverty. This is someone that joined the Marine Corps and served our country. He is also a graduate of an Ivy League school. It had very successful run on the business sector before he decided to get into mainstream politics. And although he might not have as much time in the Senate as some would call for, I think it's the totality of his resume. And what he brings to the table is going to identify with a lot of middle class families. I think it's going to help out President Trump in the blue wall states and the rust belts and really make a difference come on election day. I mean, plus you're talking about just his age alone. He's still relatively a young man. He's younger than me. And it's going to be good to see that kind of energy out on the campaign trail. Maybe someone who's half the age of Donald Trump, but needs that to match the president's energy. That's true. He does. I mean, the president's energy is unmatched. His resiliency is unmatched. I mean, just seeing him stand and raise the fist. And that what was evident to me in that moment was that, you know, when the president was shot, he rose to his feet, was helped his feet. He stood up. He was more concerned about the people in that audience and who he loves and the American people who he loves and reassuring them that he's okay. He's a strong leader. JD Vance is going to be a great partner. And again, I think you're absolutely right in what he brings to the table for for blue collar, blue wall states. Trump is performing really well in those areas. But JD Vance, I think is going to add an element to the ticket that is very, very strong. Yeah, President Trump likes to campaign like he's 10 points down. And I think having someone that's energetic going to be out there with him. I mean, listen, a week after what happened in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan this Saturday for rally with JD Vance. I think it's just when you look at the timeline, first of all, it's the best one ever. But just how everything's kind of shaken out. Sometimes I just can't believe how fast this spins, but we're here for it. And then now that the convention is kicked off, we've seen a lot of great speakers, former administration officials, some of the biggest and pivotal members of the Republican Party and movement. We've seen, you know, families who have been affected by crime across the country and fentanyl across the country, people who are running in races this year. What are some of the highlights or messaging points that you think we're really hitting with the American people? And how do you think that the lineups have been so far? I think it's been pretty strong. I mean, I wouldn't have expected, you know, seeing people who have had children dying of fentanyl overdoses and amber rose in the same day. And then the next night, you have everybody from Nikki Haley and Rhonda Santis, who weren't really on the Trump train speaking before Dr. Ben Carson, who is one of Donald Trump's most loyal surrogates and of course friends in real life. So what do you think? I think the message has been really strong this week. You know, make America wealthy again, make America safe again. These are the things that the American people are concerned about right now. They're concerned about the border, they're concerned about inflation, they're concerned about crime, they're concerned about fentanyl. And so hearing these stories has been really incredible. And it's a good lineup. I think it's evidence that this is a bigger and better and broader Republican party than we've ever seen. And it's a testament to Donald Trump's how far his reach can go and what he speaks to as a candidate. And the thing that is the most evident is how much Donald Trump loves this country and how much he loves her people. And that's why I think they've specifically chosen some of these people to tell their stories. And he is evidently very clearly moved by their stories as he's sitting in and listening in. He's very, very moved by the stories that we've heard. And it's been incredible to watch. Now I agree with you. And then when you talk about the messaging that listen, when Donald Trump first came onto the scene, he did bring a bold, broad message of unity back in 2015, ahead of the election against Hillary Clinton. Since he's been elected president, he's had to fight. A lot of his campaign rhetoric has been like, these are the things we did to make America great. But these are the people that are pushing back that are trying to destroy this country. Now, after the events of this weekend, you know, we've had some people from the Trump campaign in this week, other congressmen and women, Senator Marshall was here on our Tuesday edition of the show as well. They know that that messaging is going to change. It's going to go back to the center and kind of encompass all the things we were talking about throughout the week. But it's also going to be a welcoming message to anyone who, you know, still wants to have the opportunity to live out the American dream and a better life. You're welcome underneath the MAGA tent. Now, do you expect President Trump to just absolutely hit a home run? Because, you know, when it comes to his biggest speeches on the biggest stages, I'm thinking of the first Republican national convention, the first time he dressed the United Nation when he's gone to North Korea and China and then done a couple of State of the Union addresses. It seems like when the moment calls for it, Donald Trump knows what to say that really resonates with the American people. And I personally am expecting to him absolutely knock it out of the park on Thursday night. Yeah, I think you're going to see an emotional crowd. I think when we finally hear from President Trump, just to see him even see him walk in the room, right, is that, you know, after what he endured over the weekend and just being there in the room with us as we hear from the speakers that have been in the lineup. I think you're going to hear a message of unity. I think you're right. He always rises to the occasion and we will see that yet again. We're going to see a strong message for his vision and what he wants his presidency to look like and his vision for the future of the country. And I think the crowd will be emotional in seeing him. And I think he may in turn also get a little bit emotional in that moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see that because he's just incredibly resilient, so tough, such a great, great, he's really is. I mean, just an incredible president, he's going to be incredible, even more incredible in, you know, Trump 47. And I'm really, really, everyone is very eager to hear from him. No, so are we. And I think we're going to leave it at that Congresswoman. This has been great catching up with you today. As always, we've got your congressional website live. I think in the show description, people could check out all the great work you're doing up on the Hill, check out your podcast, et cetera. If anybody wants to follow you on social media, though, where can they check you out? Rep Aaron Houchin on X and Congresswoman Aaron Houchin on all the other social accounts. She's a Congresswoman who's fighting for Indiana nine. She's also fighting for all the American people out there broadcasting live from Milwaukee, Wisconsin today. Representative Aaron Houchin, thanks for joining us on the show. Have a great weekend. You too. Thank you. Guys, we're coming back with another all new edition of the State for Breakfast podcast. So sit back, relax, and let us change the way you consume your news. [BLANK_AUDIO]
