"What's up everyone and welcome back to the program. Ever since the murders in Moscow occurred, the Gansavas family has been at the forefront demanding justice not only for their daughter but for all of the victims of the alleged killer Brian Kohlberger. And they have been adamant from the beginning that they have not been treated correctly by the investigators and that's something that I pointed out when all of this was happening in real time. I said then that making them out to be witnesses in this case so that they could gag order them was reprehensible and I still feel the same way and I also think that the ridiculous commentary that was fired at Mr. Gansavas throughout this whole thing has been completely misplaced and misguided. It's real easy for somebody sitting on Reddit or Facebook or something to have an opinion about what Mr. Gansavas should be doing or shouldn't be doing. This man in his family just went through some of the worst stuff you could possibly imagine. They should be given space to grieve however they like and if they want to call out the investigators then that's their prerogative and there shouldn't be any kind of punitive punishment for it and it seems to me anyway that you could look at it through that lens. I mean what we've never seen prosecutors play games like this before and stuff like this just once again swings the camera focus right over transparency. The more transparency the better but one of the big problems with the investigations into the murders in Moscow was how bad the communication was between the investigators and the public at large and the families and because of that the Gansavas family they went out and hired a lawyer named Shannon Gray and Shannon Gray has worked as their intermediary ever since but in today's article we're hearing more from Kayleigh Gansavas's dad Steve about Brian Coburger getting all kinds of pretrial privileges and when Mr. Gansavas asked who was paying for all of that the prosecutors refused to answer. Now why in the hell would they refuse to answer about who's paying for it especially considering Mr. Gansavas is a resident of Idaho you know taxpayer of Idaho never mind the fact that his daughter was murdered and this is the kind of stuff that gets me fired up the prosecutors are out here talking about oh trust us we're doing the right thing but at the same time we're hearing from the family something completely different so let's dive into this article from Fox News and let's try and find a little bit of clarity in all of this Merck headline Brian Coburger's unprecedented pretrial privileges include vegan food new suits and a computer according to Kayleigh Gansavas's dad this article was authored by Michael Ruiz. Brian Coburger the former criminology PhD student accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho undergrads in a home invasion maybe getting much better treatment in jail than other inmates according to the father of one of the victims. Coburger has been held without bail in the Leyta County jail in Moscow, Idaho since January I've been informed that his pretrial privileges like his five suits video and computer special treatment and vegan meals are unprecedented in the history of Idaho. Kayleigh Gansavas father Steve Gansavas told Fox News Digital and imagine here in that news your daughter was found brutally slain this guy is charged with killing her and then you find out he's getting all kinds of privileges that nobody in the state of Idaho has ever got before while behind bars. I think that if that's true Mr. Gansavas has a serious legitimate beef. Why should this guy be getting all kinds of benefits that nobody else is getting now he should be given the same amount of benefits that any other inmate or prisoner at the lockup is receiving nothing more nothing less. I said the same thing with Glenn Maxwell when she was on her bullshit oh I'm not getting enough time with my lawyers yada yada yada meanwhile she was getting more benefits than any other prisoner not only in New York but basically in the federal prison system. She was the second person to receive a visitor after the COVID lockdowns were taken away from the jails but she didn't get treated right either now we're here in that Brian Coburger over here is getting himself a nice special vegan menu getting the homie hookup must be nice huh I'm sure the other people in the lockup don't see it that way though shortly after Coburgers arrival in Idaho Laytaw County Sheriff Richard Skyles told Fox Nation the jail would accommodate Coburgers request for vegan meals typically vegetables or rice and beans but we are not going to buy new pots and pans this dude should be eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches oh you want a couple of carrots here you go besides that he should have to buy all of this stuff that he wants from the commissary why should the jail have to change it up for Brian Coburger maybe I should have one of my best friends come on the podcast and talk to you about his 10 and a half years in prison and we'll see if he had the menu change for him at all spoiler alert he didn't the sheriff did not respond to a request for comment after the suspected killer's initial court appearances in an orange jail jumpsuit he began showing up dressed in a suit and tie gon salva said he tried to find out who paid for the suits and get other information about the defense budget through a public records request but it was denied under a gag order on the case they won't tell us he said but I witnessed the moment they agreed not to handcuff him in court well look I understand that and I understand the suits but there should be an accounting of where this money's going and how it's being spent how is that something that should be under the gag order that's ridiculous and it's one of my biggest problems with the gag order they use it as a shield so that they don't have to give out any information whatsoever and that's ridiculous people have had enough of the cloak and dagger people have had enough of the stupidity and people want a full accounting of what's going on his daughter kailey gon salvis was found dead alongside her lifelong best friend and housemate madison mogan also 21 in the latter's third floor bedroom at their rental house on king road just steps off the college campus on the second floor police found their housemate zanna kernodel and her boyfriend ethan chapen both 20 all four had been stabbed to death according to the county coroner two other occupants were not attacked including one who told the police she saw a masked man leaving through the rear sliding door according to a december probable cause affidavit the affidavit remains the most detailed account of the allegations against the suspect nine months later following the gag order and it's crucial for anybody out there who has not read that affidavit yet make sure that you do that affidavit is super crucial to everything that we're talking about so it's super important that people read that affidavit if they want to have an understanding of this case even before the gag order authorities were tight-lipped about the investigation and co-burger's defense attorney cootney county public defender and taylor declined to answer questions from fox news digital now both sides are seeking to have news cameras removed from the courtroom yeah that looks good huh in a case where there has been no transparency the whole entire time now you're telling me that we're going to remove the cameras too sure that looks great everybody's on board with that said nobody regrettably it seems the judge and prosecutor are overly concerned with accommodating the defense leaving us the advocates for our children with no choice but to step forward gansavas said and it's crazy to me that mr gansavas or any of the family members would even feel like that but it does appear that way doesn't it it seems like every decision that's been made at least recently has been all about brian co-burger well what about the victims and what about the community and the people of idaho as a whole who's representing them it's supposed to be the prosecution but when they keep making decisions like this it makes me wonder i understand that they want to protect the integrity of the case and they don't want to say anything you know on towards but there certainly is the appearance that they're bending over backwards for brian co-burger co-burger's defense and leitah county prosecuting attorney bill tomsen have both asked judge john judge to bar cameras from future proceedings the court heard arguments on the issue wednesday and he said that he would make a decision at a later date a media group led by the associated press is opposing the measure and outside experts say the arguments from both co-burger and the prosecutor's office may be unfounded well no shit they're unfounded for whatever reason i can't tell you because i have no idea the prosecution is still hell bent on secrecy when they shouldn't be they have the goods on this dude at least as far as we can tell so why such a move for secrecy just because both sides want to hide the proceedings from the public doesn't mean that the judge has to go along with that request said royal oaks a los angeles media attorney who in the 1990s successfully convinced a court to allow oj simpson's murder trial to be televised the public is entitled to see the judicial system at work as they say sunlight is the best disinfectant and that's something i definitely agree on the more light of day something like this sees the better off we all are co-burger is facing four charges of first-degree murder and another of felony burglary he can face the death penalty if he's convicted a judge entered not guilty please on his behalf at his arraignment in may a trial originally scheduled to begin in october has been postponed so as you can see here the gansabas family is still swimming uphill when it comes to getting answers or to getting any help from the prosecution and the prosecutors have had a bit of an adversarial stance with the gansabas family throughout the entirety of this whole entire investigation and that shouldn't be the case now i understand that they don't want people out there talking about the case this that the other thing so fine don't give the families any inside information but you should keep them in the loop and you definitely should be talking to mr gansabas if he has questions about things like brian co-burger getting the homey hookup while in jail because i don't know how that has anything to do with the gag order so hopefully judge judge rules to keep these cameras in the courtroom but as i've said before i am not very very confident that he's going to do so one thing that i can guarantee you though is that we're going to be here every step of the way if you'd like to contact me you can do that at bobby capucci at protonmel.com that's b-o-b-b-y c-a-p-u-c-i at protonmel.com all of the information
