It’s been 18 years since Paul Blakey (MBE) founded ROC Angels and he’s seen an awful lot of good moments since then including setting up not just the ROC Street Angels, but also Festival Angels and Club Festivals.
With a simple approach of loving people where they are he has won high praise from the likes of Lord David Cameron – for helping create communities that people want to be a part of – and the Police Service in Halifax who noted a 42% reduction in violent crime where ROC Street Angels are working in conjunction with partner agencies, such as the Police Service.
That reduction in crime, as reported by the Police Service, has been repeated in other locations – that is the power of local people loving the people in the community where they serve and live.
Joining the Redeeming Our Communities organisation simply further enhanced that ability to mutually encourage local communities, and ROC Angels has now encouraged and enabled other local communities to set up similar projects, all around the world!
