This episode comes with a little cautious warning, because some of the things that historically happened at Caesarea Philippi are things you want to protect little ears from hearing. 

For the rest of us knowing about the pagan region Jesus took His disciples to ask this very important question sheds so much light on His mission. I draw so much strength from knowing that Jesus established His Church at a place known as "the Gates of Hell". There's no reason to panic about the Church. We can also learn from Peter's example that one minute we may confess Jesus as the Messiah, but the next minute get badly off track.
