Still at the convention, I would imagine John, you're keeping late hours and you've been yelling and screaming and have a good time. How you feeling this morning? - You know, I'm doing all right, but you are correct. I'm continuing to lose my voice as every night. They say, you know, that the chance continue. Go Trump or build a wall or it's time to win. We're rocking and we're rolling up here in Milwaukee. - Yeah, well, I gotta tell you, your resilience is just amazing and inspirational to me. So thank you for being with us all week long. I really do appreciate it, but let's talk about last night and then we'll jump on to the thoughts for tonight's speech. But some of the thoughts on the highlights for you, I liked, you know, the families that were up there. It was such an emotional time, but boy, it really resonated, I think, with Americans and, you know, the ones that have lost their kids through, you know, serving this country, I was not a dry eye in a place I would imagine. - Oh, absolutely. All right, so for me, there were three highlights. One, absolutely, talking to those families who lost their loved ones, and look, and the poor leadership that came with it from the Biden administration. The second thing was Trump's granddaughter. I thought she really brought home and helped explain to the American people that Trump family are just that, family. They have the same fund, the same struggles, the same relationships that we all do. Look, celebrities or political figures are still just people, just because they may be on TV or they may have this or that. But the third one was J.D. Vance's speech. Several times in his speech, he mentioned that, and this is one of my big things. I really believe in this. I really want to hear this from our elected officials. He talked about defending people's God-given rights. And that's what it's about. The government doesn't give us rights, God does. And governments should recognize that and defend those rights. And I really was glad to hear him highlight that multiple times. - I got to tell you, one of the highlights for me was the World War II veteran, just incredible. He was also a D-Day veteran there, obviously. William Peckrell was talking that even at 76 years old, you know, Trump were the commander-in-chief. I think he's 96 years old, actually, that he re-enlisted a listen. - That's the attitude, that saved the free world. And for those years ago, and President Trump, back in Commander-in-Chief, I would go back to be re-enlists today. (crowd cheering) - Then he said I'd storm any beach. He would want me to storm in the place just when it's... Yeah, I thought JD Vance as well, I'm with you there. I don't know, have you seen Hillbilly Elegy, the movie Ron Howard put together on his life? - So I have not seen it yet, but I'll tell you what, it's on my top priority now. - Yeah, it really does, you know, bring out who he is, what he came from, and what he's all about. And like Trump, until, I mean, he's a freshman senator. He didn't grow up, you know, as a politician, like Joe Biden. He's got a background in finance, and a very smart guy, obviously, Yale graduate. He also served in the Marine Corps, and he gets Americans that are struggling financially and common folks, you know, growing up in Appalachia and coming from a poor family, that also had obviously problems with addiction in the family. Grandma raised him, mom was the addict, but she was there last night, clean 10 years now. Praise God for that. But yeah, I thought he brought a really good one last night and nailed it. And I liked his wife too, Usha. She did a good job. - No, no, that's right. That's right, look, and Tia, some of the best lines I have ever seen from a politician on stage. No matter how many conventions, a little more stuff, it's a little more formal. His line of, you know, hey, kids, if you're watching, you shouldn't be eager, butts in bed. How does that not connect with, you know, with parents across the country? - Right, and I liked how he was talking about his grandma. I had about 19 guns in the house, and, you know, no matter where she was, she wanted to make sure she hadn't. There's one in the silverware drawer. There's one there in the toilet tank. I mean, there's going to be a gun in any room or anywhere she could have paid the house. That was good. - You know, JD, I'm guessing you have some listeners who identify with that. - Sure, sure, I'm not saying that's in my house like that, but anyway, let's talk about what's going on tonight. Is Donald Trump is obviously, since Saturday, a changed person, and I think watching his reaction on some of the speeches throughout the week, you can see his demeanor is different. I'm really, you know, curious and anxious to see, not so much what he's going to say, because he'll be spot on with policies and things like that. But, you know, his emotional positioning and how he presents everything tonight as well. - No, look, that's right. And I think the whole world is on the edge of their seat 'cause he, what does Donald Trump say tonight? You know, it isn't the same. You know, what demeanor, what attitude, you know, how to express things. And I think you're right, we've seen it all week. We've seen this spirit around Donald Trump be a little bit different. And I think we're going to see tonight, we're going to see some of these calling for unity, not just unity within the Republican Party, but unity for our country. Like, we are in a mess financially, on the world's stage, on the southern border, every where you, how will we teach our children? Our country is in a mess. And we're going to see someone tonight, tonight I believe he's going to talk about those things and unite the country on policy and how those policies help people. - Yeah, well, I appreciate you. We'll wrap up tomorrow one more time with you, John. And thank you so much for being with us all week long. We sure do appreciate you. - No, it's good to be on the show. Hopefully I still have a voice tomorrow morning. We'll do our best. - Get you a nice lemon lozenge. Go ahead, you'll be fine. - Hey guys, it is Ryan.
