First of all, before we talk about Joe Biden, your thoughts on how the convention's been going and the speakers and the energy and J.D. Vance last night. It was certainly a convention that was never planned to be happening, right? It has turned into quite the show. You've got the Secret Service Director appearing there yesterday and being confronted by a number of Republican senators. You have the vice presidential candidate being announced at the start of the convention, which I don't think we've seen that for some time. It's definitely quite a vibe with the fact that former President Trump has made this comeback and it has become their messaging. Of course, Republicans are trying to do a unifying message to unite the country and some of the speakers may not have lived up to that with some speeches that have been pretty critical of President Biden and Vice President Harris. But last night wasn't a chance to see J.D. Vance for the first time and some of the feedback I'm getting is people thought it was a powerful speech. I think some of the criticism is that he may have buried the lead a little bit too much and should have focused more on his story and maybe honed in on that a little bit quicker. But overall, I think the feedback's relatively good. Yeah, if you haven't seen Hillbilly Elegy, the movie about his life put together by Ron Howard that's on Netflix, I highly suggest people do that and that'll give you a nice background on where he came from and how he got to where he is today. Tonight's expectations with Donald Trump, he says he tore up the original speech that he wrote and he's going to be bringing a humdinger of a speech tonight. He appears to be a bit of a changed man. Obviously, I think most people would be if they'd been shot at and hit. Your thoughts on the expectations of the president tonight, Donald Trump? Well, he says he's going to give a unifying message. He says it's going to be very different. And before it was a speech, I was very critical of President Biden and it might divert from that a little bit and maybe focus a little bit more on himself and focus on his family and focus on this idea that he can unite the Republican Party and unite the country. I think that's what we're kind of expecting tonight, but it'll be, I think, I think is the first major speech that he's given since the shooting. So I think there's going to be a lot of eyes on this speech. I think they're already word on it, but I think just because of the historical ramifications of the situation he's in, this could be one of the most watched political speeches ever. Well, on the other side of the fence, we've got everybody and their brother calling for Joe Biden to get out. And we're talking about big leadership from Schumer on down to Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi's working the phones behind the scenes. And there's a big call right now to slow down and announcing, you know, moving ahead with the virtual roll call to make him the nominee. So your thoughts on that and where it's going to end up is we get ready for the Democratic Convention next month. What do you, what do you think? Is it going to be sooner than later? I mean, now he's got COVID. Yeah, I mean, it always had to be, I think a little bit sooner than it did later. And I think we were expecting maybe more of a domino effect, more of more calls for Democrats, the call on President Biden to step aside and for those discussions to continue. But then former President Trump was shot. And I think that kind of sidelined a lot of these discussions or at least quieted them. But now that, you know, clearly former President Trump is okay, the RNC is going on business as usual. I think these calls are starting to get a little bit louder on the Democrats side. And you saw it yesterday with Adam Schiff, probably the most notable Democrat yet to come out and call on President Biden to step aside. And Schiff is also going to be likely the next senator from California. So if he already was a senator, we'd have two senators calling on him to resign 20 Democrats total. And then you cope with that with the fact that Schiff is very close with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has long been seen as one of the people to watch as we as these calls for President Biden to resign or these calls to for him to step aside. And also just these concerns about him in general continue. She was kind of always somebody we said you need to watch for who is next then if they decide or Joe Biden decides, okay, I'm done. You know, pops is giving up the car keys. I'm out. Is it automatically going to be Kamala Harris? Are they going to? I've heard Pennsylvania's governor is a thought governor Newsom from California. Other names have certainly popped up. So who is in line if he pulls back? Is it automatically Kamala Harris? Well, she's the obvious choice considering the fact that she's the vice president and the fact that, you know, we're so close to the convention time, right? It'd be, you know, there are there are those, you know, we've had some candidates for the house and such come on and say they would like to see some type of competitive primary process or convention process so that it's not just, you know, handed over to Kamala Harris. But, you know, it'd be pretty difficult for them to move off and pick somebody else at this point. So, I think she is the obvious choice as of right now. If she's not the given choice and of course, you know, this is still President Biden's decision to make based off people we've talked to. So until President Biden decides he's out, he's still in. Yeah, it looks like it. But maybe the family intervention along with the rest of the crew and the Democratic Party will show up at his beach house and get after it. All right, buddy.
