Senator Tommy Tuberville joins us now. Welcome back in coach. Glad to have you with me this morning. Morning JT. Welcome from the beautiful 66 degrees Milwaukee with costs. Hey, you did a great job the other night and boy the energy around that place before we talk about the convention. I wanted to get your thoughts on Senator Menendez as he was found guilty on all this. Obviously he's going to appeal this but Schumer called for him to resign. 30 of the 100 senators now calling for him to resign. You think he ought to resign or where are you on this one? Well, they they convicted him and you know, I've got no bobbin in this pretty well and this is the second go around a problems he's had with something like this. I didn't keep up with the trial. Obviously the evidence was overwhelming. He should have probably stepped aside the last few months while this was going on because it was a damning evidence of what 480,000 cash in his house and a bunch of gold bars. So I don't know. I mean it's going to be up to him and I kind of hope he stays in the race and splits a vote and and we run a reverse on him and get a Republican in and that seat in the jersey. Yeah, absolutely. Menendez obviously being a Democrat. All right, you were there the other night. You're still there. I have not seen energy at a Republican convention like this in a long time. In fact, I have not seen a Republican energy as far as unification in this country like we have seen over the last few days now. I mean your thoughts on what's happening right now right here in America before our very eyes. Well, the way started out on Sunday of almost a catastrophe of President Trump being shot. It you can say that the the ship has been riding and you got more and more people on the boat paddling in the same direction a bunch of the rats. Obviously we got some rats that have jumped off the ship and now they're trying to get back on and say they were all for President Trump all along. But that being said, you're exactly right. And it's all about getting everybody on the same page. But you know, I keep telling people it. You know, President Trump is for the people of this country. He's not a politician. He can't stand politicians. These people up here a lot of them are politicians. You know, they're speaking and you know, they're all acting like all is well and good. But they're part of the problem. And I hope President Trump when he speaks tomorrow night basically said, Hey, I'm here for you, the people of this country, the hell with the politicians. Let's take our country back. Let's let freedom ring and do what we need to make things work. And hopefully the politicians will get out of the damn way. I thought JD Vance was pretty amazing. He's getting ready to speak tonight, coach. And I watched Hillbilly Elegy, the story of his life and where he came from. And you know, Yale graduate, Marine Corps and growing up, you know, poor and middle America. I mean, the guy really comes from a pretty well rounded background and super intelligent. Your thoughts on the vice president's pick or the president's pick in JD Vance as the VP. Yeah, he was my pick all along. I've got no JD real well after a year and a half of being in the Senate. He's not a politician. He just kind of an average guy that that grew up very, very poor. And as you said, it's amazing. He achieved the American dream. But here's what happens. He's so poor. He gets out. He has no way to go to college. He joins the Marines. He does his time and the Marines gets out. I think he goes two years at Ohio State and graduates in two years, maybe a little bit more net and then goes to Yale Law School, gets elected to the Senate. I'm going to tell you, he come out of the chute. I was very impressed very early. He stood up and took on the the the rhinos in our party and had a couple of luncheons about Ukraine and and basically called them all out. He's very, very intelligent. And again, I think he's going to be very good as young. He's young. He's young kids. And I think we needed that, Jake. They are really good. Yeah, I agree with these 39 years old and the fact that he comes from the background he does and that he's so well rounded in so many different areas. And I thought the same thing, you know, he is a political figure now, but I agree with you. I don't think he's he's a politician and it was has been raised as a politician. And you know, but he thought, you know, just like I think Donald Trump true heart was to get in this to make things better for people in Ohio, just like Trump didn't have to take this on for for money or, you know, fame. He had all that. And I think JD Vance certainly has intelligent and his background in the finance world was just fine staying out of politics. But you know what? I think everything that he's got brings, you know, some strong leadership to help this country. So yeah, he could be the next president. You need to watch tonight, Jake. You need to watch in the night. He's going to give his speech, his acceptance speech. And I think you'll be if you haven't seen this, listen to his content of what he says. And, you know, I'm not I'm not even close to a guy like that. But, you know, he he thinks the way I think about our country, but hey, go do your time. Work for the American people, not politicians and and make make America better. And I think he will do that. Solid point. All right. Let's talk about after the convention. I mean, the energy certainly this week is big in the the wave of support for for Donald Trump is really, you know, becoming a tsunami. And you got tech giants now shifting with their, you know, donations in these billionaires. I mean, you got got to follow the money from those guys. And if Trump's going to be better for money for the tech folks, even their their left and kind of independent traditionally, it looks like that's changing. So beyond this energy we're feeling this week, I heard somebody talking about it and saying, look, you know, we got to keep our pedal to the metal after this. We still have some time before November 5th. Well, it's been a short time since 2020 when the red wave was supposed to hit. There was no game plan. I saw very little people in Washington, D.C. of our leadership come together. And so, okay, let's let's let's group together on this candidate. This candidate, we got to do this. You have here, I mean, it's kind of a hit and miss. And if we don't do it, same thing will happen again. Donald Trump will take care of his business. But we got to do this, do what we need to do in the House and Senate. And we we we'd lean on this on this convention. We'll get our tails beef. So we got three months. This is pregame warm up. And I'm anxious to see our leadership. If if they will step up and start bringing people together, there's no policy that we really got to work on. Now is the time to take our country back. We got three months to do it. But I'm worried to death about our leadership because they're who are they for? They're for themselves. They're not for the American people. And and and I'm I'm a little skeptical. But again, those of us, we need to speak up and hope they'll listen to us. Yeah, don't let go of this energy. Well, coach, I really appreciate you. God bless you. Thank you for what you're doing up there. All right, Jake, thank you. God bless. Hey there. It is Ryan Seacrest with you. You want to make this summer unforgettable?
