And Donald Trump is now officially the nominee for the Republican Party for the President of the United States. We hereby nominate every single one of them for the greatest president that's ever lived and that's Donald J. Trump. Thereby that's laring him, the Republican nominee for President of the United States of America. There we go. That's his son, Eric Trump, joining us now for a little bit more on the convention last night. Roy O'Neill, our correspondent. Roy, welcome in. Thanks for being here. Hey there, J.J. Good morning. So I thought it was pretty electric last night. A lot of good highlights. Our own Senator Katie Britt got to speak. Tommy Tuberville was there announcing delegates and some great speeches. Boy, I'll tell you, Tim Scott really brought it too. Yeah, a lot of energy from him last night, but they got so much done on the first day. I don't know what we're doing tonight because, you know, they got the pick for the VP. They did that roll call of all the states. They officially nominated Donald Trump and J.D. Vance and they got to see Donald Trump last night, but the bandage on is here. So yeah, how do you follow that tonight? Well, you look, don't put it past him to top it and I think that we may see that. You know, it was kind of interesting. I like this fact that, you know, J.D. Vance was a never-trumper and he spoke about that with Hannity and said, look, you know, he made me a believer. You know, I was wrong about him and he turned my mind around on that. And I think that that speaks to a lot of people in America that were never-trumpers that, you know, had different perspectives on his gruffness, his rough edges, his aggressiveness. And you know, him saying he's going to, you know, do this and do that, well, you know, the left has been spinning him to such an evil guy that they're going to take away the gay rights. They're not going to support women in the Republican Party. They're going to hate the Hispanics. They hate people, you know, coming across our border. All of the perspectives, I think, you know, have been changed a little bit. And J.D. Vance, as the VP pick, is the biggest one to come out and say, you know what? I was kind of on board with the people that didn't like Trump, but now I'm there because he made a believer out of me. Your thoughts on that? Yeah, my first, my initial reaction, again, being as a guy from Florida, my very first thought was, ooh, 2028, J.D. Vance versus Ron DeSantis. Yes. That's going to be a heck of a show. But no, I think that this is really the passion of the hat and more the torch in many ways, because J.D. Vance is literally half Donald Trump's age. And it just really is sort of that sign of this is Donald Trump's last presidential campaign, assuming he wins in November. So when, four years from now, when Vance is coming out of this as being the vice president, he's obviously going to be the front runner for the 28 campaign. And I think that really speaks to the way that the Republican Party has changed under Donald Trump. We heard from Mitch McConnell announcing the Kentucky votes yesterday, and he got booed at inside the Republican convention of booing Mitch McConnell. Pretty incredible. Well, I got to tell you, it kind of speaks to the old guard of like, hey, you know, we're not really into, you know, you better jump on board with the new train of Donald Trump coming back in and stop hanging out there with the older guard. You know, that was a clear message to me. But I think you're right. The same thought ran through my mind as I even said to my wife, Judy, I said, there's our next president right there after Donald Trump, J.D. Vance. And boy, he's very articulate, smart, Yale grad, former Marine tech connections out on the West Coast, bringing him some support financially for his campaign, and ultimately to even Donald Trump's campaign. So, you know, immediately the left starts taking shots at him, no surprise there. But yeah, I'm with you there too. So tonight, I guess we're going to be looking at another great lineup and once again, another one that has decided to come on board. She was invited to come. She was not initially going to be there, but, you know, the former ambassador Nikki Haley will be there tonight. Right. And as you said, she was originally, she had released her delegates last week and there were no plans to have her speak, but then I guess Thursday, the Trump campaign reached out and she reached an agreement to come speak to the RNC on Saturday morning, according to the New York Times, a few hours before the assassination attack. So she was already on board to, you know, give this message of unity because, look, even after she dropped out of the race, she was still getting 10, 15% in some of these states. So clearly there's, there is that old guard, maybe that that's that Mitch McConnell, George Bush, Mitt Romney kind of Republican, that's still not on board. And when we see that some of the races and some of these states has been so close, you know, in some cases the Republicans can't afford to lose anything. So they do want to reach out and try to expand the attack a little bit, maybe a 10 flat. Right. Right. Well, do you think the fact that JD Van said, yes, I wasn't ever a trumper, but here's why I'm now on board with him and Nikki Haley tonight saying, look, I was really obviously opposing Donald Trump and coming after him, but now I'm on board. Well, that's sway the independence that might be thinking about Donald Trump and those that were in the middle. Well, a little bit. I will say that Nikki Haley on the campaign was much more critical of Donald Trump's policies. I think she made an understanding. She was a diplomat. So she was very, you know, she just pointed out policy differences and it never really got personal a couple of times, but not really. I think JD Vance did have things get a bit more personal, especially when it was working at CNN, essentially, and there's videotape, unfortunately. So the Democrats are going to be using a lot of those old video clips to try to undermine his credibility. But as, you know, it seems like he was explaining his thought process to Hannity last night. And look, no one votes based on the vice president anyway. We just want to sort of make sure they're like, okay, that's fine. And more. But I'm still, and personally, I'm still upset about the fact he's only 39 years old. I'm so old. Well, I think there's a lot of people that have been screaming, especially Gen Zers, you know, look, we need somebody young, these old folks up there in Washington. Not already. Can we get somebody younger? And JD Vance certainly brings that, so I'm excited about that too. It's time for today's Lucky Land Horoscope with Victoria Cash.
