Gary, welcome and thanks for being here. - Thanks for having me on, Jason. - Well, you were in one of these situations not as severe as what took place with Donald Trump. But when you guys, I immediately thought about this over the weekend, you know, when you and Steve Scalise and other congressmen were practicing with a congressional baseball game and gunshot, you know, rang out there at the park and Steve gets hit and you're all scrambling here. I mean, this had to be top of mind for you as well when you saw it and heard what was happening. - Yeah, it brought back those memories and of course, every time I say Scalise. And he'll never fully recover from it. It's a reminder of really how dangerous things become for people at all. - Gary, are you there? It sounds like he dropped out. Oh, okay, good. I'm glad. Listen, when you look at what happened here and I talked with Jared, you know, Hudson a little bit earlier about this former Navy SEAL. Obviously, you know, Jared and friends with him for quite some time and a former Jefferson County Sheriff's candidate about what took place with a secret service here. After the things have settled down just a little bit, what are your thoughts on secret service, local law enforcement, how this could have happened and how they, you know, I wouldn't say allowed, but how somebody snuck through the security and ended up on a roof with a rifle. - Well, I know Jared probably explained a lot of this to you, but secret service creates a perimeter and I don't think they had enough people, J.T. at this event because they, that building that the shooter got on on the top of was within 150 yards, less than 150 yards with a clear line of sight to the podium where President Trump was, that should not have been outside the perimeter and the reason this matters is because security outside perimeter falls to local law enforcement and there's a lot of communication issues and a lot of lack of experience that exists many times with the local forces in particularly small town, small county sources like we're available in Pennsylvania at that event. Well, our county is not that big a county and Beaver County is not that big a county in terms of having resources for something like this, but I think we've got to look at the whole thing and we had a conference call yesterday with Mike Johnson and we're going to have, we're going to start with the oversight committee looking into this and I think there's some suggestion that we might have a commission to look into it. I talked with the chairman of the committee of the oversight committee, Jamie Comer, I'm on that committee about what we need to do on the front end immediately and so we're going to be taking a deep, deep dive into what happens, which is what happens again. - Your thoughts on how Donald Trump reacted to all of this says, panic broke out, Donald Trump was fighting to stay on that stage and Secret Service moved him off and, you know, blood's running down his face and his fist is in the air saying, keep fighting, keep fighting and understand he actually wanted to keep speaking and stay on that stage, I mean, incredible. - Well, what he wanted to do is to share people that he was okay, that he was not going to be carried off the stage. He was determined to walk off stage which he did and, you know, a lot of the left-point media, it's shameful how they responded to this initially and how some of them responded to it afterwards to say that he was trying to incite something by saying fight. That's never been what President Trump has been about. It's never been about violence. It's about standing up for our country, standing up for our whites and these are people determined to turn this country upside down and they almost have with the Biden administration. And God bless them. I believe God spared President Trump's life. People got a rally around getting our country back on the right track and I think that's really why President Trump did what he did first discussed in the air with that flag behind it. - Yeah. - This is a rare making. - Yeah, I agree with you completely. The rhetoric has got to, you know, stop. It's got to calm down. When you see what the left is calling for as far as Trump being compared to Hitler and, you know, a target or a bull's eye on him now coming right from Biden's post rather, it's time to put a bull's eye on. I mean, obviously that was a figure of speech but yeah, the rhetoric's been horrible towards Donald Trump and it's odd to me that the DOJ is heading up this investigation and all of this into what took place at the same time down the hall. The DOJ is also looking at how to put him in jail. It's just so bizarre what's happening right now with Donald Trump and what's happening with people on the attack on him.
