John Wall joins us now, our GOP Chair here in Alabama, who is at the convention. John welcome in. Thanks for being here. Oh, no, it's good to be on the show. So at what time do you work your way over to the convention and when do things get underway? Yeah, so today we have an early session. So I believe we gabble in for the first time. Did the Republican National Convention in 2024, a little afternoon today? How close to the convention are you right now? As far as your hotel and where you have to go? Well, the Alabama delegation has a very close hotel. We're actually really pleased, you know, in past years, we've been a little further out. This year, we're only about eight miles from Pfizer Center. So actually in Milwaukee and ready to join with, you know, the states and territories from across the country as we get this thing rocking and rolling today. It is going to be an amazing four days. That's for sure. And I guess today's big theme is make America wealthy again. Your thoughts on Nikki Haley being there as she was invited to come. Well, you know, I think one thing that hopefully has come out of this tragedy that we saw with the attempt to the session at Donald Trump is I believe right now that the Republican Party is more unified than it's probably never been going into a convention. We know who our nominee is. We know who we want to point. We know what our message is. We want to defend people's rights and freedoms. We want to talk about the issues that are affecting the American people. And we still believe in the American dream. And I think that's what tonight's message is about every single American should have the chance to be able to gain wealth over their life. And we want to make not just make America wealthy again, but but highlight those values of the issues that made the American dream possible to start with. Yeah, and how many folks are there from Alabama that will be attending? Do you have any idea on the numbers? Yeah, so there are 50 delegates themselves and then the rest of the delegation with, you know, sponsors, special guests, guests of the delegates, we round out to about 230, um, Alabama and up here at the convention. I understand Donald Trump is there now. Obviously he planned to be there and he's not changing those plans, but usually the nominee waits until the final day for the big culmination of everything. But I understand he may be speaking tonight. What have you heard on that? You know, there is a very real possibility. Everyone should tune in tonight because I could very, very much see him getting on stage tonight and addressing the crowd, but the nation, especially after what happened, you know, we, I was actually appointed as a Trump whip by Trump for this convention. And I was on a call yesterday and he wanted to make sure we all knew that he wants this convention to move forward. He wants to talk about the values we believe in and he wants to talk to the American people that why those values will help them be safe, successful, and more prosperous. You know, the guy was just amazing. I mean, you saw the video, I'm sure of him. You know, first he goes down, he gets up, he's bleeding. He's got his fist in the air, asking the crowd to continue to fight. And I think he wanted to stay in secret service said, uh, other plans to get him out of there, obviously, but, uh, yeah, what was this tone like on the call with you guys? Oh, I did the same. He looked what we saw there in Pennsylvania as he struggled to get free and was able to like get his head out of half a dozen secret service agent. He, he wanted to let that crowd know that he was okay. And he wanted to let them know to press forward and to be brave. And I'll tell you, I, I, I almost teared up watching that the first time because what we saw there was a true leader. And I'll tell you, we may not have had some a leader like that since, since Teddy Roosevelt with that kind of bravery and that kind of boldness. And so I, I was very, um, I was very moved. And I think that's what we're going to do this convention. We're going to see Donald Trump, who's bolder than ever, who wants to talk to the American people and he's not going to back down. He's going to fight to take America back and to restore America to that, that great nation that we can and should be. Yeah, I think it's presumed, uh, not only the nomination, but also the fact that he's going to win this presidency, uh, this next election. That the polling numbers, the, the support continues to grow. And just the energy seems to be moving in Trump's direction. You know, we, we've talked about this before, you know, you and I, as well as the others that we were really concerned with all the rhetoric out there, uh, from the left about, you know, comparing him to Hitler and there's got to be uprisings in the cities and, you know, calling for, you know, action and putting Joe Biden recently saying it's time to put a target on Trump. And I mean, when that type of rhetoric is out there, are you surprised? We talked about the potential for, you know, somebody getting him in a situation where his public safety and his, his own personal safety is, is, is just, you know, detrimental and could happen in 80 minutes. Somebody threatening his life. And here it happens. Yeah, you know, it will look absolutely. And I was very clear from the beginning that I think we have got to recognize as a society that the mainstream media, their constant villainization of Donald Trump, they're constantly attacking him. And meaning him calling the names that absolutely played a part of this. And I think they need to take responsibility for that. And they need to tone down their rhetoric because they just out of line and they're getting involved in the political process and inciting people to violence. Yeah, just horrible situation, but thank God he survived this thing. Well, it'd be safe there yourself. We'll chat a little bit later this week.
