Horrible situation took place Saturday afternoon Butler, Pennsylvania as the assassination attempt failed on former president Donald Trump. And during the all of the chaos later, a BBC reporter now this interview with Greg Smith, the Trump rally attend to you said he warned police have a gunman on the roof, but his warnings went ignored. We noticed a guy crawling army, you know, bear crawling up the roof of the building 50 feet away from us. We're pointing at the guy crawling up the roof. He had a rifle we're like, hey man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle and the police were like, huh, what, you know, like, like they didn't know what was going on. You know, we're like, hey, right here on the roof, we can see him from right here. He's crawling. I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, why is Trump still speaking? Why have they not pulled him up the stage? I'm standing there pointing at him for two, three minutes. Secret service is looking at us from the top of the barn. I'm pointing at that roof. And next thing you know, five shots ring out. Well, Jared Hudson joins us now, former Navy SEAL and former Jefferson County Sheriff's candidate to talk about this. It seemed this was the beginning of all the conspiracy theories that started flying all over social media about how this thing was orchestrated. This wasn't just a, you know, one guy going crazy and being stupid. Your thoughts, first of all, on what he had to say when he mentioned a law enforcement. And I know it's a chaotic situation, but what is standard protocol if somebody liked that alarms law enforcement? What's to be done? I mean, yeah, what's up, brother? How you doing? Good morning. Yeah. So basically, um, they're going to start to investigate and look into just because somebody points out something to me and says, Hey, this is a bad guy. It doesn't mean that I just automatically smoke them right. Um, they had been watching that guy. I've quite a few buddies that were there at that, you know, I wasn't up there on that with him or in any position of time. I'm just relaying to you what was told to me about buddies on the ground with, you know, multiple involved and long story short, just because somebody points out somebody that's a bad guy to you doesn't mean you do anything. They don't even watching that guy for about an hour. I believe when they first spotted him, uh, he, uh, he was on the ground and one of the sniper hides over on the building that he got on actually got a picture of him. Uh, now was there a failure somewhere? Well, yeah, obviously, uh, was there success somewhere? Yeah, obviously, because even though he cracked off a shot at the, at the president, I would say within less than 20 seconds, probably less than 10 seconds. Uh, he was engaged and shot by multiple sniper hides. Um, but where he was at, just in this position from the snipers, I know for a fact, uh, that it was hard for them to see him and the position was in number one. So they're looking at people pointing and saying there's a guy over here, but then number two, they had been actually looking for this guy for about an hour and to my knowledge, it was never reported to them and all their stuff that he had a weapon. Nobody ever saw a weapon until he shot. They didn't realize he had a weapon. Um, he had a range finder and that was the, that was the thing that, that stood out the most of them. That's why they're sending uniform police over to deal with him. When you look and saw the reaction of, uh, the shots being fired by the good guys finally to take him down, uh, is the your opinion that they reacted secret service, uh, and the, you know, the snipers, the good snipers, you know, moved as quickly as possible and reacted and did not have to wait for confirmation to pull the trigger or produce. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So in law enforcement and definitely in special operations, sniper, uh, you know, that's what, what I did when I was in the teams and then now in law enforcement, law enforcement agents, most of the time we worked under what's called compromise authority. So, uh, for what I would call compromise authority, if there's a compromise with case president life, is it risk, uh, or, uh, somebody else's life, is it risk like in the state of Alabama, even you JT is a, as a citizen, you can, uh, you know, impede, uh, the loss of life or a kidnapping, right? If somebody's trying to kidnap somebody, you can, you can go after that and even defeat it with deadly force. You're allowed to do that as a citizen said, I'll let you like to wait for, you know, somebody to make a call with that being said, being the devil's advocate. You know, there could be a chance that, um, although the buddies I talked to that were there on, they're on the radio in their sniper, obviously said they never heard a call go out. Uh, hey, don't don't shoot this guy that they were actively looking for him and just never were able to pick him out to a fire shot. But that being said, um, it could be that, hey, we've got this guy dealt with. We're watching him. He doesn't have a weather. The law enforcement's moved into position or we've got law enforcement guys over there and it's not, it might be a position where, hey, I can't tell. Is that, is that you state patrol or is that, is that the bad guy slides up the roof there? I can't really tell. You know, so there's a lot of stuff going on. It's 100 degrees or bad mirage, you know, sweating through. I mean, just, it's a, it's a difficult job. And so at that point in time, um, really, it's, uh, you got to be 100% sure that you're shooting the right guy when you, when you pull that trigger. So my opinion is, no, there was never a don't shoot the guy. If there was, unless you're being dental advocate, if there was, it didn't go over their, the, the multiple main comms channels they have, um, and, but it could be, hey, we've got this y'all don't, y'all don't shoot at that guy. We don't know what you're looking at for sure, but we do know that we have a sniper team, you know, in place or moving in place. You got to offer movement in place to engage us. Kind of like, uh, an umpire. A lot of people bring up questions about, uh, secret service in all of this. Uh, a lot of finger pointing going on. The Congress wants to bring in, you know, the secret service director, you know, uh, DEI hire. This is what you get when you have an administration that, you know, follows the checking of boxes on somebody, as far as qualifications go, come in second place to making sure we, you know, connect the dots with diversity, equity and inclusion before this. And so many people taking different angles on why this, you know, happened and what failed after things have settled down a bit with you. What, what do you think failed here? Yeah, I would say the biggest thing is what you just mentioned. I've been with the Congress before a good bit over the last, you know, couple of days or since this happened and, uh, you know, I know he's actively working to get some questions answered. And that's what I've told him. And, you know, I will put words in his mouth when he tends to agree that, you know, you, the DEI stuff just doesn't work. I mean, look at the lady. I mean, Cheetos, she, she's the lady that's the director of 72 hundred city service agents. In my opinion, you need a pipe hitter in that position that can make good decisions. You don't need a lady who works security at PepsiCo. Somebody said she was an agent for a while. I don't know if that's true or not. I just know that if you read her bio from offline, it says, she was Pepsi's director's Pepsi America. But, so I think that's really where the failure is. It's not that one, one or two or three nefarious actors on the ground did something. It said there was a failure in enough places, especially within the bureaucracy at the higher level that they don't get it. I thought with the buddy, he said to run like 300 to 350 dudes just for, you know, to go to the Smithsonian with Obama's daughters, and this is after Obama's president. Now, that's what he said. And then he said, he kind of made him sick because they, you know, they show up and they don't hardly have anybody, uh, for, uh, for Trump rally. And so it's really, it's not that they're like, hey, we're going to set up and we're going to shoot Trump. They just put the things in place to make it happen. I do want to touch on one more thing though. When I mentioned compromise, uh, authority, just so you understand, that's basically puts me as a sniper or even as a law enforcement agent in a position that I can make the decision on my own on the ground. And in a lot of places in state of Alabama, for sure, let's just look at state law and I forget the federal side. It's illegal for if I make a, if I make a probable cause arrest, a sheriff can't tell me or a police chief can't tell me, hey, you can't make that arrest because they weren't there actually, you know, seeing the crumb take place or putting together the probable cause of the crime did take place. So it just doesn't make sense at the way it went out. The only thing that I can think could have happened is these guys got called off because they're calling and asking, Hey, is that the guy? Is this kind of look at that call? Is that that the guy? They get called off by somebody else. Hey, we've got cops over there. We got this going on. We got it figured out. So it's kind of like you're going to listen to the third base umpire call somebody safer out at third base as opposed to the first base umpire, not because they have any less authority, but because one is seeing that picture better than the other. And that's where you have to trust, you know, who you're working with. Should they have? I mean, it probably wasn't though you're there. Yeah, should somebody have put somebody on that on that roof? I mean, when they're getting out there before the rally and doing, you know, they're pointing to different buildings, you know, going, Hey, what about that building? Did they miss it? No, they didn't. They they had somebody there. So one thing to think about these 10 roots, you know, it's it's 100 degrees. It's 50% humidity. It's flipping hot. So you have a lot of guys like some of the guys that showed up on the roof right behind where Trump was, they got there like 20 or 30 minutes before Trump got there just just because you can't you can't sit up there like that for hours at a time. It's so hot. You can't hardly move. One of the guys told me he laid down on the roof. He's like, holy cow, he got back up. And he any stood or he got on his knee or they laid he laid something down. He said you couldn't even lay on the roof. It was so hot. So sitting on those 10 roofs and like over on where that glass factory was, they had somebody in there. They were in a position where they could see and they actually those guys actually spotted the shooter before he started shooting. But as they were trying to find him, they just they lost sight of him. They tried to keep eyes on him, uniformed law enforcement, trying to go find him. They lost sight of him. Also, the thing I think has been pretty much debunked. There was no cop who climbed the ladder and pointed the guard and ran away. A commander of a very specific unit had to carry a ladder over there after this shot. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Jared, I appreciate your input this morning. We'll talk later this week on the investigation. As you mentioned, a lot of questions still need answers and the investigation continues on this. But Jared Hudson, thank you so much, buddy. Thanks, guys. I'm a real everyone.
