Last night did not go as well, I think, as the president had hoped, but it could have been worse joined now by our own Ryan Schmels from Washington DC. So Ryan, how is the big boy press conference being received? I think it's kind of like what you just said it was, John. It's kind of like a feeling that President Biden had his moments. I think there's a thought that it could have been a lot worse, but I think there's also a concern among some Democrats that it wasn't exactly the home run that he needed to reassure people that he can still be the nominee. And of course, there's gas that we've been talking about that certainly did not help his cause whatsoever, especially in this age and social media. But whether or not it's going to save his campaign or not, it's kind of still up in the air. I think what stands out is that you had three or so Democrats come out after the debate, including the top Democrat on the intelligence committee and ask President Biden to step aside. So the number of Democrats who are weary is continuing to grow, and I'm not quite sure that that debate yesterday saved the campaign. And Biden is still blaming his poor debate performance on everything but himself. In the next debate, I'm not going to be traveling in the 15 time zones a week before. Anyway, that's what it was about. What else? That's what it was about. And by the way, even with that, I love my staff. But the ad things, the ad things all the time. Very bad. I'm catching hell for my wife for that. Anyway, this notice comes in with, but anyway, and you just rolls on like this, like here. I'm sorry. Yeah. See, he loses his training. This happened time and time again, Ryan, where he would say he would give an answer to something and then he would kind of trail off at the end and lose his place and end with a, but anyway, or I'm sorry, or where am I going? He really had a hard time maintaining focus and maintaining as long as he was on message and repeating something that I think he had worked on, he was okay. But the moment he had to be at all off the top of his head, this sort of thing happened. Yeah, I think there was some satisfaction with how he was answering some foreign policy questions. He gave a very long answer on chips and competition with China. And there were a couple other issues where he kind of gave these long answers that he seemed to be on top of his facts, or at least, you know, understanding of the issue on foreign policy. But, you know, those were just a few moments. And there were a number of other ones where he was a little bit more concerning. And yes, I mean, you know, blaming your staff for why you've been tired. I think he put and that was in response to a question where he pushed back on, you know, the these reports about him having an earlier bedtime, which he says are not true and that he was saying them sarcastically when he when he made the comments initially. So there's a lot to take away from this. It was a long press conference. He took questions for about an hour quite some time. Yeah, it was also a late press. It also pushed him past that big time. Because, you know, he said he's not supposed to stay at past eight and he was saying it was pushing it pretty close because this thing was supposed to happen two hours before it actually did. Yeah, right. And anybody who covers the president will tell you that that is actually a very common occurrence for them to start events very late in this administration. So yesterday was no different, except it was just on a bigger stage. Because I was wondering if he was backstage, you know, getting prepped, getting ready, going over his notes. I've got to think that because he had a list of reporters. He knew where he was going. It wasn't just like a, you know, people were all shouting and he would call on somebody. He knew who he was going to go to and he kept saying, let's see, where am I going? Who am I going to next? He had a list of names he was supposed to go to. I wonder if he actually had an idea of what the reporters were going to say because he seemed he seemed prepared and maybe a little over prepared and yet underprepared all at the same time.
