I'm sitting in for JT today and I have a confession. I love shopping in person at stores. Stores like Target. Well, I should say I did enjoy shopping in person at stores like Target. But now I'm faced all the time with all of this agenda, all of this LGBTQIA agenda and all I came in to do was just buy a pack of plain white T-shirts and I know I'm not alone. I'm joined right now by Scott Shepard. He's the director of the National Center for Public Policy Research at the Free Enterprise Project. Scott, welcome to the show. Thank you so much. Great to be with you. It seems like the Target executives, more and more, they're being more and more disconnected from their consumers' wants, desires, and sensibilities in some of the things that they're pushing. I remember that most other things Target had given vast amounts of shareholder money to organizations like Blissen, which is an organization that pretends to just do all good things that nobody could disagree with, like helping homeless youth. What it actually does and significant part is spend money to train school teachers how to create gender dysphoria in little school children until those little kids are so confused that they want to make major medical life decisions instead of just being happy with who they are as they are. That's insane. It's particularly insane for a company whose Target demographic are middle-aged middle-class women. When directors do that, it's self-dealing, it's breach of fiduciary duty, and the results, the costs ought to come out of the pockets of the individual directors. Maybe those directors that Target will find themselves shopping at Target in a couple of years. If you're lucky, they might end up at the Walmart. That's right. That's right. One of the things that always bothers me about this is these kids that they're targeting, no pun intended, are often making decisions that 15 minutes later, they want the opposite thing. Ask a kid what they want for dinner, and they'll say one thing, five minutes later, they'll say the other thing. They can't make up their mind about things like that. That's what we, as the adults, as the parents are entrusted to do, is to make decisions on behalf of our children, but now we're saying, no, no, no, let's let the kids decide what they want to be. What happens when he comes home and says, "Mommy, tomorrow I want to be an elephant." Okay, well, let's go ahead and get that surgery done, good and be hard, but we'll get done. That seems like so often where the game we're playing, certainly these executives at companies like Target, and they're not the only ones, by the way, but certainly they understand what they're doing. Do they have another agenda in mind? Usually, the leftists tell us to follow Europe, Europe has it all figured out, if we were just more like Europe, we'd be better. Well, in this case, Europe has recognized exactly what you're saying, that most kids, the vast, vast majority of kids, grow out of all of this, who I want to be a boy stuff, and we've all known for generations, the term tomboy, right? The kids grow out of it, and that it's really, really dangerous and violates the Hippocratic oath, et cetera, to let kids make these lifelong decisions to mutilate their bodies on a teenage whim. They, the small little self-appointed elite, who run these companies and who go to the World Economic Forum meetings at Davos every winter, in limousines, in private jets to tell us that we have to cut our carbon footprints. Their goal of allowing government to run our lives and the lives of everybody in the working and middle classes so that they, in turn, can be treated at a point themselves as a global elite and live the high life without regard to the scriptures that the rest of us have to face. Bottom line, they're trying to champion an agenda, but in reality, that agenda has nothing to do with their end goal, their end goal is power, their end goal is control, and they're willing to use what I would refer to as useful idiots to accomplish this by, they tell them, oh, we got to fight climate change, oh, we got to fight racism, we got to fight gender inequality, whatever it is that they, they rattle up the people to fight. But in reality, they're causing a lot of collateral damage as they make a beeline for control and control of our lives by saying, you can't buy this, you can't have that, and we will have everything and we will hand you what you want. That's right. I think I'd like to amend the old line that the love of money is a root of all evil. I think, in truth, the love of running other people's lives is the root of all evil, other adults lives is the root of all evil, and you find these monsters at the top of government, at the top of industry who want to run our lives, on the basis of nothing, you mentioned climate change, the simple fact that doctors have all of this net zero nonsense is that the non-west countries are putting more carbon generating electricity plants online every couple of years, than the whole west has left. If the whole west went net zero tomorrow, it wouldn't make a dime's worth of difference to anything that's going to happen in the climate, no matter whose models you use. And yet these monsters, again, in the self-appointed gentry, keep pushing this on us because they think they can make some money on it, and they think it's never going to apply to them anyway. They're going to have their mansions, their yachts, and their limousines, and they do not care what happens to us, but that's why we've got to knock them down. And last time I checked, the same atmosphere that floats over us, floats over China, and they are putting all sorts of awful stuff in the atmosphere at hundreds of times the rate that we are, and no matter how many of our clean coal plants we shut down, they turn on 10 more that are not clean coal, and they don't care what they're putting in the atmosphere, and that is why they're beating us in the marketplace. And Larry thanks to CEO Blackrop, one of these machines of fiduciary breach that takes other people's money as custodians, but then uses it for the personal policy preferences. He was still pushing just a couple of years ago, triple your investments in China. It's all a fraud, it's all a game. Scott Shepherd, the director of the National Center for Public Policy Research's Free Enterprise Project. Thank you so much for joining us this morning on Alabama's Morning News. Thank you, sir.
