Another senator is becoming the first Democrat to predict Trump will overwhelmingly defeat Biden on election day. Here is Senator Michael Bennett of Colorado. Donald Trump is on track, I think, to win this election. And maybe win it by a landslide and take with him the Senate and the House. And Alex, of course, he makes it seem like it's a bad thing because he's a Democrat. But not everyone is upset about that. Alex Zaden, he is a GOP political strategist and a former Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate. Thank you for joining us this morning, Alex. John, great to be with you. Thanks for having me on. Sure. So the situation looks dire for the Democrat Party, but do they have something in their back pocket? Or where are they going with this thing? I got to think that Senator Bennett is kind of like the soldier in the World War I movie that gets sent over the top of the trench first. To see if people are going to shoot at him. Senator Bennett says that he said these things behind closed doors, and he simply wanted to say them publicly because the closed door conversations got out. Look, these closed door conversations are not unique to Senator Bennett. A lot of Democrats, most Democrats that are realistic, recognize that Donald Trump is going to defeat Joe Biden in November. What they want is to avoid that. They're worried about losing the Senate. They're worried about potentially not being able to retake the House. It's really all about electoral chances right now. That's why you're seeing this panic on the Democratic side. And we'll see what happens. We'll see if more people join Senator Bennett publicly at least because behind closed doors, the debate settled. They know Joe Biden's going to lose. The question is how many people say it publicly. And the question is how many people is going to take down with him because I imagine a lot of Democratic donors are thinking twice before they write a nice fat check to the Democrat party as long as Joe Biden is the face of the Democrat party. Right, do you think they're going to ask for their money back potentially? I don't know if it works that way. I'm not a high dollar donor. Sure, that's what you're seeing right now. You're seeing not so much the elected officials because they recognize that they have primaries potentially in the future. They recognize they're going to be on the ballot in a position where the White House can help or hurt them. But people like Democratic donors carry a lot of weight behind the scenes. And they've been speaking out because, hey, they don't want their money to go to waste just like you and I don't want our money to go to waste. But we know that that is wasted money already, giving it to Democrats, giving it to Joe Biden. It doesn't matter. President Trump is on track to win. I've heard what Senator Bennett said. This is a Democrat talking win a landslide in November. We're looking for a red wave potentially and I'd be happy to see it. And they're in a tough place because Kamala is the only person who could retain that money, but she's even less popular than Joe Biden. Right. I mean, well, you know Democrats. I think that if there are rules, they'll find a way around them or to rewrite them. But at this point in time, it would seem that she would be the heir apparent if President Biden did decide to step aside. And you're right. She's even more disliked than Joe Biden is across our great country. Even more disliked among conservatives than President Biden is. I think that would just animate people to go vote for President Trump if Kamala Harris was at the top of the ticket. I don't know if I could stand the cackling and the word salad for four years or four minutes. Well, you heard the ladies on the view talking about it. Well, Republicans just can't handle a funny woman. And that's the reason why they don't want it. I don't find Kamala funny. I find her sad and disappointing that she's laughing, but I'm not laughing. I don't know who's laughing. It's just her. She's laughing by herself. John, I'm going to trust you on this because I don't regularly watch the view. I know it's your thing to watch when you in the afternoon when you're getting ready all that kind of stuff. It is not my thing, John. Okay. I'll trust you on that. It is not my thing at all. In fact, I heard Hannity. I'm quoting Hannity. So Hannity was going to watch the view. Obsessively, right? No, I think that when you looked at Kamala Harris, she is unintentionally funny. What she does and says is funny because it doesn't make any sense. That's quite an interesting argument for the view to hide behind. I think the Kamala Harris would be a disaster as President of the United States. But look, it's not going to get that far. President Trump is going to be reelected. I think you're probably right, but knock on wood because it's not here yet. There is no shortage of things. They will try to somehow get their guy across the finish line, even if it's going to be a weekend at Bernie's 3.0. Alex Zaddan. Thank you so much for joining us.
