Well, if you are before when you pack before you check your bags before you check your bags because you might be bringing something you didn't realize, at least I'm assuming that's what's happening. It's not people up to, you know, bad news. We're joined by Evan Brown, Evan, live in Miami. What is this study more than 3,400 guns? We're intercepted at airports. Good morning. Yeah, well, not a study. I mean, it's a tally. Yeah, 3,400, a little bit more than that have been interdicted at TSA airport checkpoints so far this year, and that's a slight uptick from last year, although there are more people traveling. So that kind of the percentages are sort of right about the same, but it's just a reminder that you are not to try to take your gun or on the plane with you. Many people carry guns. They might leave them in their bags, you know, briefcase or suitcase or whatever. And they may not realize that you can't do that. You can check a firearm at the baggage check. It has to be in its own case with a special lock ammunition has to be out of it. And you, but you can actually check it provided that it's legal for you to carry, you know, both from where you're starting and where you're going. Then it's OK, but if you leave it in your carry on and you try to go through the TSA checkpoint, they will find it and you can get fined up to like 15 grand. It's it's a very hefty fine. So I would recommend not doing it. And that that's there have been some problems. I think people may know this from the news that some folks had traveled internationally and didn't realize they left things like ammunition in their bag. Yeah, there's a couple that was what what country was that there is is church in Caicos. There were a few people who got detained there for a very long time and due to the grace of the courts there got a very low fine and we're told to leave the island as opposed to getting imprisoned for more than a decade, which their law actually, you know, calls for that was done by them to really restrict weapons trades because their island was being used for bad things. So anyhow, you know, just just a reminder and you go to the airport, if you're someone who normally carries your fire in a in your bag that you bring around, even your purse ladies, make sure it's not there when you're going through the checkpoint. It's not just guns. I'll tell you one time, Evan, this was about 10 years ago. I was standing in line. I didn't have a gun on me, but I've always carried. I'm an old boy scout. I was carried a pocket knife with me. I was standing in line. I was looking at a little sign about also is it? No, no. Yeah, and I was just kind of standing kind of chuckling to myself. Who would bring a knife on it? And then as I was thinking, I felt my pockets like, oh, my gosh, my knife is in my pocket. So I didn't want to I didn't want to lose my knife. So what I did was I ran back before I went through before I went through the checkpoint. I ran back to the concourse and I buried it in a pot, you know, with a plant. I kind of shoved it in the dirt and when I came back to the airport about a week later, I went and tried to find my knife. You know what I found? Somebody else's knife. Apparently that's a common thing. What you do is if you realize you've left your knife in your pocket, you bury it in a in a planter in the airport. I found somebody else's knife before I found my own. You are now prompting Birmingham police to search the airport planters for discarded knives. I'm sure at this point. I'm proud they probably should actually this happened to Fort Myers Airport, but still the same point. OK, well, Fort Myers PD should go check the planners of the airport for for knives. Exactly.
