President Biden is hosting a NATO summit in Washington. Will this be an opportunity to show his leadership on the world stage yesterday? Biden announced during his remarks at the summit that there will be a new donation of equipment made for Ukraine. Today, I'm announcing the historic donation. A very defensive equipment for Ukraine. United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and Italy will provide Ukraine with the equipment. That sounds reasonably presidential. But is that enough to overcome some of his recent gaffes? Joining me now is White House correspondent John Decker, who's covering the summit. John, good morning. Good morning to you, John. Hope you're doing well today. I am doing very well. So yesterday, he made a rather lengthy speech, but he was on prompter. I understand that he's going to be taking some questions tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a formal solo press conference by President Biden, associated with this 75th anniversary of NATO summit taking place. And we don't get these opportunities all that often. Last time we had an opportunity to have a formal press conference with the President was a few weeks ago in Italy at the G7 summit. But that was not that lengthy. His answers were not that lengthy, not that detailed. Tomorrow, I think a lot of attention, a lot of scrutiny will be on the President in terms of his performance, not only what he says, but how he says it. And will you be lucky enough to be the pool radio reporter in there who gets to ask some questions? Well, it's a formal press conference, meaning that it's not just the pool that will attend it. So I will be at that press conference tomorrow, but more importantly, I think for me, as I'll be with the President all day today, all of the activities that he has on his schedule. It's a very busy day, John, for President Biden. Starts off with a political meeting at the headquarters of the AFL-CIO, which has been a strong supporter of President Biden's. Then he'll attend the summit. He'll have an addition to meeting with his counterparts from NATO at the summit. In the afternoon, he'll have a bilateral meeting with the new British Prime Minister that will take place in the Oval Office. And then this evening, the President will host all of his NATO counterparts at the White House for a NATO welcoming dinner. So all of that on tap today, busy day on his schedule. And I'll be with him all the way through the evening for that dinner, see how he's holding up after such a busy schedule that he has on tap for today. And John, you've been covering him for the last four, well, you've been covering the White House since the '90s. But for the last four years, especially, you've been in close proximity with the President. Have you noticed over the last four years that he is starting to have problems, not only in his speech, but also maybe in the way he moves, the way he stands, all those kind of things? Well, certainly you can notice that, you know, the physical limitations of President Biden, and you see it, you know, you don't have to be like I am in close proximity to the President to see that, you know, his gate is very stiff when he walks. So certainly I've seen that, you know, and I've covered him going all the way back to when he served as a U.S. Senator. It's a lot different Joe Biden that is in the Oval Office right now than the person that I covered, you know, when he was in the U.S. Senate. Or for that matter, when he was Vice President of the United States for eight years. John, what does this look like on the world stage when other leaders are looking at this country? There are a lot of countries who look to us for leadership or just general an idea as to how the mighty United States is doing, and they see a President in decline like this. I got to think that emboldened, might embolden bad actors to do bad things. Well, I think that that could be true. I can't get in the head of bad actors, what they decide or not decide to do. But certainly, you know, that is one of the undercurrents of this NATO summit. No one's going to say anything publicly as far as the President's counterparts in NATO. Or for that matter, whispering about the President, you know, behind closed doors. But they're following the President. They pay close attention to the President and will certainly and are certainly doing that this week during this three-day summit. Well, John, we will definitely look forward to talking with you again tomorrow. And you can maybe give us a update as the things you saw throughout the day today. And we will have you on again tomorrow to talk about that. Our White House correspondent, John Decker, thank you so much for joining us. It's time for today's Lucky Land Horoscope with Victoria Cash.
