Democrats continue to huddle behind closed doors to discuss the president's cognitive decline and the way forward in light of the elections. Joining me now from Washington, D.C. is Ryan Schmels. Ryan, good morning. Hey, good morning, John. So what's the latest? Because every day, it seems like there's kind of a new take on this. What's the latest? Are there new Democrats coming out, calling for him to step away from the election? Or are they reconsidering their position? Well, we are now up to seven Democrats total who have called on President Biden to step aside. The latest one was Mikey Sherrill, who got added to that list yesterday. She put out a statement saying that she wants President Biden to step aside, and then you had on the Senate side the first Senate Democrats who publicly say that President Biden could be a liability when it comes to beating former President Trump in November and his chances at doing that. And that was Senator Michael Bennett from Colorado who actually ran against President Biden in 2020. And with a lot of these Congress people, they're relying on the top of the ticket to help sweep them into office. But if the president's coattails are not there, then they're in real trouble because their money is going to start drawing up, too. Well, certainly. I think some of the biggest concerns you're seeing are from people who are in swing districts. That's been the ones who have been raising doubts about President Biden's ability to win, but they've also been raising doubts about his abilities, too. So the progressives, actually, for the most part have been relatively in line with the president so far. There have been some concerns being raised, but I think some of the loudest voices are coming from the moderate to even some of those long time members. At the same time, though, the president has said time and time again, he is not stepping down from the election. And of course, Jill has also said that and Kamala has also said that. So since the main, the center of the Democrat party seems like they're behind him. It's basically just wishful thinking on the part of these other Democrats. Well, we do have we do have some breaking news on this. You know, Speaker Pelosi, former Speaker Pelosi was actually just on the morning show and she was asked about President Biden. She says it's up to the president to decide if he's going to run. We're all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short and then she was asked to follow up, you know, do you want him to run? I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that's the way it is whatever he decides we go with. That sounds like something Nancy Pelosi, which I can actually hear her saying it that way. Well, Ryan, we'll see we'll see what happens next. I think we're all one. It's like a soap opera and we're waiting for the next episode. We're waiting for the president. I guess he's going to be taking some some questions in a actual press conference tomorrow at following the following NATO. That's what I understand. Yes, sir. So we'll see. We'll see what happens. Are you going to be in the room? I don't think so. Now I'm here on Capitol Hill. Well, you're in DC. I figure it's a small place. You know, you could make your way over, but I don't let everyone in. Well, with NATO traffic, it's hard to get anywhere right now. I've got to put a PSA off that about how bad traffic is this morning. It's awful. You got to watch out for those folks from other sides of the countries. You know, they drive on the wrong side of the road. Ryan Schmells from Washington, DC. Thank you so much for joining us.
