I'm making sure Biden is still the nominee, because that's not necessarily something we should take for granted. Joining us now is White House correspondent John Decker. John, a president has been through a lot. Is he still running? Well, it's an important week for Joe Biden. He will deal with the fact that Congress is back from its recess. Members of his party will be back and ask the question, do they still support Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee? And also, on Thursday of this week, John, President Biden has a scheduled solo press conference that will happen five-thirty Eastern time, four-thirty for you. That's an important event as well, just like so many people watched that interview that he did on Friday with ABC News. I think a lot of people will tune in to see that solo press conference as well. And the question will be, how well will he perform with people asking questions? The interview with Stephanopoulos, it was a little bit friendlier than the debate. He was in, it looked like in a children's library in the background there. I'm not sure the setting for the press conference, will that be at the White House? The press conference actually will not be at the White House. The reason being is because the NATO summit is happening this week in Washington, D.C. So this particular press conference will happen at the Washington Convention Center, which is in the center of the city. Unusual place to have a press conference for a president, just like that location was unusual for President Biden, with Stephanopoulos on Friday. But I think it just has to do with the events that are taking place this week here in the nation's capital. John, how many of the questions, because, of course, the meaning, the state of meaning for the press conference, is to talk about the NATO meeting. How many of the questions will be not about NATO, but rather about the president's ability to serve? Well, I can't give you an exact number, obviously, but certainly a good chunk of the questions, I would imagine, posed to the president for those chosen to ask questions of the president, will be on this issue of the president's stamina, his mental acuity, whether or not he is losing support among Democratic donors and among rank-and-file Democratic party members. So to me, certainly you're going to see a significant number of questions. Can't tell you exactly how many will be asked to the president on this particular issue. Because John, if you saw the Stephanopoulos interview, you noticed that he was a little bit more willing to take questions about his mental acuity. Although he did shake off, I think Stephanopoulos asked him three or four times if he's willing to take a cognitive test, and three or four times he shook it off, basically saying, "Well, I take one every day, I show up for work." I don't know how many more times people are going to let that be the answer. Well, look, I've heard this often from not only the president, but I've heard it from some of his top advisors as well, that the president deals with these issues every day. That's his mental acuity test, but I think that as far as that particular question that was asked by George Stephanopoulos, it seemed to me, John, and it's an important question. Don't get me wrong, but it seemed to me a little repetitious. If you have only 22 minutes at a certain point, you move on to other important questions. To me, an important question that I would have asked John, the president, given the fact that he told members of his own party that he's not going to have events after 8 p.m. To me, the question being asked is, "Well, how can you serve as president?" Old events don't stop at 8 p.m. around the world. To be president, you have to be president 24/7, 365, and to me, that was an important question that was not asked to the president during the course of that interview. He's like Dolly Parton.
