The fallout continues from the president's miserable debate performance, and it's hurting him. Now, with the donors joining us to talk more about this, is Erin Rial, Erin, welcome to the show. Oh, thank you for having me. Yeah. So Abigail Disney, uh, Disney Air is she's been bargoing future donations to the party until he bows out of the race, Biden. This is going to really affect down ballot names. This is why we're seeing now five house Democrats call on Biden to exit. So, you know, kind of snowballed here. The donors walk away. They take their money from the Democratic Party, other Democratic lawmakers, strategists. They say, get out of the way. She's just one. Reed Hastings, one of the founders of Netflix, he's given tens of millions to the Democratic Party over the years. He says Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump. You also have Barry Diller. He's a billionaire chairman of IAC, which is a publishing company. He's also the husband of Diane von Furstenberg. He was asked point blank, does he hold firm with the Biden campaign? And he said, no, Mark Cuban also beginning to question the logic of Biden. The list goes on and on. Aaron, when they say they want a vigorous Democratic leaders to step forward, have they suggested any particular vigorous Democratic leaders they'd like to see? Uh, I mean, listen, donors can suggest whoever they like. That doesn't mean it's going to happen. They can put their money behind whoever declares the campaign. It's interesting. Kamala is being talked about more favorably by her own party than she has been talked about in a long time. Listen, her party has always loved her, but in many ways, like almost every VP, she's kind of been a punching bag. And now it seems like they're, they're slightly teener up to be more than that and hoping that she could, she could carry it if she has to. Well, last week James Clyburn made, you almost could say a veiled threat that if it's not Joe, it must be Kamala because, uh, and remember, he was basically the kingmaker, Joe Biden's campaign was going nowhere four years ago until James Clyburn in South Carolina stepped up and says he's the guy and all of a sudden everyone coalesced behind him. So could once again, James Clyburn have any sort of sway here? Yes. And I'm glad that you bring this up because earlier this week, uh, Nancy Pelosi, and like you said, Jim Clyburn, he, he's the Democrat from South Carolina and these have been some of his closest allies Biden, but you know, they publicly validated concerns about Biden's fitness for reelection. This is only a growing choir of lawmakers, donors, strategists, they're all losing faith in Biden's ability to beat Trump in this November election. And if you just like a Pelosi who like never walked away and I'm naming the big names, the Clyburns, the Pelosi's, she has said that it's quote legitimate to ask whether Biden's debate performance was a one off episode or more representative of a long term condition. I think that is as aggressive against Biden as she's ever going to get. And there you have it right there. And she has also been trying to keep the mantra has, has still been, but don't forget Donald Trump lied. That's been what Joe Biden brought up when he did his, his, uh, recent hit with, uh, ABC and Stephanopoulos. That's been what, what Nancy Pelosi said, never forget he lied. He lied because they're trying to keep up both fronts of, well, we want to make sure the Democrats win, whether it be Joe Biden or somebody else, but also remember, never forget that Donald Trump did lie. Right. And they're allowed to do that because there's been lies, but I think that the idea is like anyone who's sitting there pretending like this is an even fight is, is being goofy. Like, like whether you're on the right or the left, this is not like, no, if Biden runs Trump's winning, that's it. It's over. Like, I think like now we're just parsing silly things. Like it's a waste of energy to even discuss like, oh, his talking points because you're like, no, like we have the early polls. You have the donors. You have enough people saying like, this isn't a like, no, of course he's going to lose. So like, why are we even wasting our energy discussing this? I think is now where we are. So it's like, yeah, they can say he lied, he lied, but it doesn't really matter. It comes down. Like, let's say you weren't into politics at all and you watch this debate, um, you know, Thursday before last, it's like watching someone who didn't feel well. And even the Stephanopoulos interview, if you watch it, people are like, he did okay. But again, no, not really. He looked old and frail because he is. And that's not a slight if you are lucky enough to make it to your 80s. Old age is the worst thing in the world except for the alternative, but it doesn't necessarily make you fit to lead the greatest nation on the planet. I love that. I like that quote, Aaron.
