Oh, Hurricane barrel, such a beast, such a beast. Category five, let's check with Evan Brown, our Fox correspondent down in Miami. This is a hurricane center in Florida for sure. Keeping an eye on this one. Evan, while the first this early and big in the season ever, this was a dandy. Yeah, it still is still hasn't gone away. Still a category five storm. It's moved past the lesser Antilles. It pretty much walloped Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados. I am is now kind of really to the south of Puerto Rico in terms of where it's located. But remember, it's, you know, it's hurricane force winds and they're at about a hundred and sixty some odd miles an hour right now. They extend 40 miles out from the center. Gail force still out about a hundred twenty five miles out from the center. So this thing's got about a two hundred and fifty mile, you know, diameter. It's pretty big. And so even though it's if you look at that track map from the hurricane center, sure, it's, you know, passing well south of Puerto Rico and there are no storm warnings posted there, but they're getting it right. They're getting the rain. They're getting the wind and, you know, maybe not getting Gail force wind, but they're getting wind. They're getting rain and, you know, Puerto Rico's a, you know, that's a US territory. So those are Americans there and it's going to be passing south of, you know, Hispaniola, which is Dominican Republican Haiti and they already have a hurricane warning because it's still a major hurricane. Eventually it's going to kind of right hit Jamaica. Excuse me. They have a tropical, yeah, they have a tropical storm warning at Hispaniola, but Jamaica's under hurricane warning already and they should get that by tomorrow. And then it makes a run towards the Yucatan Peninsula. It'll weaken a bit. Still be hurricane when it gets there, but then it goes to the Gulf after the Yucatan as a tropical storm and possibly could be impacting southeastern Texas. So and still make a lot of rain and stormsters when it gets there. So, you know, we have a, we're just a reminder, these things are awful. We're predicted to have a stronger, more active season this year. And so far it's been pretty active. We've got our first, not just really first hurricane, but first a major hurricane and it, you know, began in late June. Yeah, earlier than usual as well. And we talked about the beginning of this whole thing. It first made landfall in Grenada as a category four, but it's intensified throughout the process as it made landfall. I haven't heard much about destruction or injuries or anything like that. Yeah, I haven't gotten a lot of word out of those islands yet. It may be taking them some time to get everything taken care of. I'm going to tell you right now that if they got a strong cat for or low level cat five, that they, my low level cat five is kind of a ridiculous thing to say. But, you know, they got, they got hit pretty badly. They would have gotten wallops by the wind. They would have gotten wallops by storm surge. And on an island, there's really not too much you can do to evacuate. I mean, you move to the center where the ground is higher, I guess. But, you know, it's not that big. Yeah. Yeah. So if you evacuate, that means you left. So, you know, again, we may be a while before we know the extent of whatever it is they went through. Yeah, I heard some people talking essay, you know, weather folks about the possibility of this thing taking a strong northward turn and coming up near Texas and Louisiana line somewhere next week. I mean, are we still thinking that that could be a case where my gosh, the forecast track. Yeah, the forecast track now has a very slight northern poll by Saturday and Sunday where instead of hitting, you know, central Mexico, it looks like it might turn a bit more up towards Texas and the, you know, the U.S. border. But remember that cone just simply represents where the center of the storm could possibly be and the error involved in the forecast. You know, like I said, this thing's got a 250 mile, you know, diameter. So if that dot is actually ends up being on the edge of the cone, the whole thing shifts further, further away. So if we move that dot on Sunday to the top end of the cone, would you put it off of the coast of Texas? All of a sudden that storm field is now hitting, you know, the Texas, Louisiana line, if not more. So it's the map is the map tells you a lot, but it also can trick you. All right. Well, you know, other than Hurricane barrel, I understand there's some other activity out there that's starting to brew up tropical storms. Any other news on something else developing? There is a another system that's further out in the Atlantic kind of behind barrel by three or four days, maybe it is now at one point, it had a much higher chance of development. It's now given a low chance of development. We also had a short lived tropical storm hitting Mexico called Chris, which dissipated yesterday. So, you know, there's been three cyclones so far and we could, we could see a fourth if this thing ends up developing or not. And like I said, it's just, you know, we're not quite July 4th yet. So this is this is early for this type of activity. Sounds like it's going to, you know, we were told. Certainly be that active season and we're just just getting started. Evan, thank you so much.
