Well, we all know the Biden administration's changes to Title IX will go into effect August 1st. But there's also some other news happening with the White House and their response. And I guess change of opinion when it comes to transgender surgery and minors, Attorney General Steve Marshall joins us now. Steve, I know you and Representative Dubose are holding some town halls. We'll get to those in just a minute here. But first, you and I were talking about the White House's repositioning, if you will, to kind of back up and go, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. We're not in favor of minors now. They were all about it before. No, absolutely. Get to you and I have talked quite some time about this gender-affirming care and what we're doing to kids. And now records from the case that we have defending albums law have become revealed. And you've seen not only this coordination among political officials with liberal outside groups and medical professionals, to some other come up with the standard of care. But now we're seeing the White House knowing that they're losing this fight and backtracking from Rachel Levine's efforts to try to remove any restrictions on kids having this experimental care. Where do they stand on it now? All minors, forget about it. We're going to be on board with that. You've got to wait until you're an adult or have they come specific yet? Yeah, they haven't really become specific. But what is clear is they still are pushing this use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in a way that's harming kids across the country. And the truth now is being revealed and really proud of the team in Alabama and what they've done and we've seen the Supreme Court going to take up this case in the next term. And I think affirm the ability of states to protect our kids. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, if you want to do something as an adult with your body and change whatever you want to change, have at it, you'll be you, do whatever. But for pediatricians and the medical association, the pediatric association to jump on board with this and say, yeah, we're okay with it. I don't get where they're coming from. What about the Hippocratic, oh, to take care of people and do the best thing for them? Those pediatricians are school to know the development of the child's brain is not fully complete until into the early mid-20s. Why would they ever jump on board with something like this? Well, this is a push from Europe that was a failed experiment that they had pulled back from. And now we're seeing research from across the globe show that not only do physicians not know the consequences of what they're doing, is that they have acknowledged that this fundamental idea of informed consent, whether it be both for the child and the parent, truly can occur with the knowledge that we have currently. Reminds me of years ago when they thought doing a lobotomy on somebody would help with depression or whatever, ailed them mentally with challenges going on. And then all of a sudden's like, oops, made a big mistake in this decision. All right, well, let's talk about what's happening now with Title IX as it's gonna go into effect. August 1st, the new changes from Biden's administration. So you and state representative Susan DeBose gonna be holding some town halls, July 1st in August, that's today and August 12th. So what's expected during this and moms for Liberty pushing back on this? - Yeah, interesting day for the first town hall because we have a hearing at nine o'clock this morning to try to enjoin for four different states, the implementation of the new changes to Title IX. And what the town hall is designed to do is really to explain to parents what this is about. This is in line with the radical gender ideology of this administration trying to infuse the term gender identity into what traditionally we have defined a male and a female by their biological sex. And the test profound consequences, not only as it relates to educational opportunities for women, but also could invalidate Alabama's law relating to the use of locker rooms and who it is that can enter into a locker room as well as the law in Alabama that makes sense about boys not competing against girls and athletics. - Well, as we push back on this and this whole Title IX change August 1st, where does it stand now when the kids get back to school in the state of Alabama? Are we still covered and we've got our kids, you know, as safe in this environment? Are we, you know, do we have to bend to this? Where will this end up? - Yeah, we're not bending and this morning's hearing is the first of what I think will be many, but we've seen two separate federal courts agree with the position that Alabama will advance today in Birmingham and that is the actions they've got in administration clearly are unlawful and they've been joined it. I do appreciate Dr. Mackey joining us in a statement to all our schools, different tenants that say take no action for the implementation of this law until we have an opportunity to fully litigate it and take it in the 11th Circuit, which is the federal appellate court that govern Alabama has already made clear in a case that arose in Florida several years ago that under Title IX, the term sex means biological sex and not gender identity and refuse to allow a transgender boy to go into the wrong bathroom. And so we believe that we're on strongly the footing. We think that just like we've won many cases against the Biden administration for going too far that we'll win here and it will allow for the reason that Title IX was implemented and that is to make sure that there are equal educational opportunities for men and women as their biological sex is defined will remain in effect. - Good, that's great to hear. Do you anticipate this possibly going all the way to the Supreme Court? - Well, I could definitely see that taking place. We already have seen in the gender affirming peers, we were talking about earlier the Supreme Court taking that up. This had even more right once multiple courts around the country rule to see these cases eventually be decided by the Supreme Court. - Yeah, and where are all the women's rights groups in helping and support women's sports and the ladies in women's sports and pushing back on this? They seem to be on the sidelines with their lip sealed. - They definitely seem to be on the sidelines but the American people aren't D.T. I mean, almost 70% of Americans agree with this concept that we ought to have women competing against women in sports and that we shouldn't want men to women's locker rooms or otherwise shower in front of women. This is a universally accepted concept of one majority of Americans but yet this administration who's bought into the rhetoric of the activists doesn't seem to want to mind that opinion. - Yeah, outrageous. Well, Steve Marshall, thank you so much for being with me this morning. I appreciate that and keep the push.
