Everybody, Aaron Rial is back after a nice weekend and watching Joe Biden and the chaos surrounding him all weekend long. Aaron, thanks for being with us this morning. Happy Monday. Happy Monday. I'm happy to be here. Well, I got to tell you, watching Nancy Pelosi come out and support Joe Biden, I thought, first of all, oh my gosh, the spin continues. And then I'm thinking to myself, well, hold on a minute. They got to support him. So all the big wigs is behind the Democratic party are supporting him. But what about the donors now? I mean, they all saw what we saw last Thursday night. I mean, this can't be good for the donor base, or is it still intact? I was shocked. He was able to bring in 33 million over the weekend, which is pretty incredible. 26 million came from grassroots funding. But those big ticket donors, the ones who are going to write these huge checks, they were not there. They are not coming out. So, I mean, they came out. He had a donor event in East Hampton, he had one in New Jersey at Governor Murphy's House, and he was at the Stonewall Inn, a massive LGBT landmark in the West Village. And he was able to raise some funds. But what's interesting, if you look at the East Hampton one, the reports from that are saying that there was very little to no one-on-one time for like real meaningful exchanges. He used the teleprompter. They said it was joyless. They said it was overly controlled. Yeah. It was a difficult one to square, but he was able to bring in some dollars. After that, he moved on through Lamont's house, and then he finished up the weekend in Camp David, where he met with his children, his grandchildren. Any legal wits was apparently there, shooting a shoot for Bogue magazine. And is now the sworn in that he's not dropping out? No, no, no, no. That's not happening. Well, good. I think it's best that he does stay in for the Republicans in the presidential race, because if they're going to bring this disaster in. I mean, the polling numbers indicate that this is not going well for Joe, and everybody except Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and the guard around him closely in Washington are going, you're out of your mind to keep this guy in the race. But from Pelosi's lips to God's ears, I think it's beneficial for the Donald Trump camp and the Republican Party to run this guy all the way until he falls over on November 5th. It's good for the Republican Party, if that's for sure, but that doesn't make the big ticket Democratic donors that he happier, which is probably why they're not necessarily shelling out money. I think that his whole argument that he ran the first time because it was for democracy had to. He was the only one who could beat Trump. Okay. So if that's the truth, and it was, it played out that way, to say that that's what you're doing this time around is deeply disingenuous, because if it truly is for democracy, let's just operate under the assumption that that was his real reason. Not because he wanted to be president, then he would drop out and do just that this time, but he's not. No, they're, they're doubling down and tripling down and Joe Biden, oh, you did so well. You answered every question like he's a fourth grader. Are you what? That's the mission accomplished. You answered the questions. This guy couldn't stand on his own in front of a press corps for four seconds. He completely is being guarded by the White House, the staff, no wonder the donors couldn't get near him because they're going to ride this dead horse all the way down the track until he falls over and it's, you know, again, I guess you would say, all right, let's talk about travel. The TSA ramping up for a big week. I mean, they've been really over staffing people. It's been the busiest June, you know, on record and the 4th of July week since last Thursday all the way through, I guess, you know, Monday, the, the 8th, it's, it's just craziness out there. Yeah, this is incredible. We know that between now and July 8th, it's going to be the heaviest travel record we've had year over year and last year was the heaviest on record. So yes, record travel. TSA is expecting to screen more than 32 million travelers. New York City, Florida, they're going to have the highest risk because of air traffic patterns and airport density, but we also know that heat waves, heat waves are a huge part of this. And high heat, I did not know this until I was preparing for this story, but apparently high heat creates really thin air, which hampers a plane's thrust for takeoff, the ascent that they need to get into the air. So that means that airplanes, they either need way more runway to take off or lighter aircraft, AKA removing bags and passengers. So that means very high temperature increases the risk of flight cancellations. And so we are likely, if you can continue to see high temperatures, you can continue to see flight cancellations. I always thought it was the other end, the snow. No, heat is a problem too. Yeah. Yeah. And I would imagine the folks signing up, I think it was $80 to get TSA pre-check. That number probably going through the roof because the lines are going to be crazy. But TSA pre-check, whatever, see those lines, there's like three people over there. So yeah, for 80 bucks, even if you don't fly a lot, it may well be worth it if you're going to be flying during the holidays. All right, Aaron, thank you so much. You slept through your alarm, missed the train and your breakfast sandwich. Cool. Sounds like you could use some luck. I'm Victoria Cash, and Luckyland is where people go every day to get lucky.
