Oh my gosh, no doubt the debate last night has everybody talking this morning one way or another on how it went and joining us now in our studio is Cynthia Cardona who is the executive director of Vulcan and big behind the scenes advocate for what's happening on July 4th and the United States of America with our fireworks display. Welcome back and good to see you. Great to see you, JT. So did you get to watch last night at all? Unfortunately I did not. I was tied up at an event at the airport book signing. Oh, what book was it? It was called Love and Whiskey and the author was there promoting the story of Uncle Nearest, which is the name of the brand. Uncle Nearest is the individual African-American gentleman who actually taught Jack Daniels how to make whiskey. Wow. Very, are you a sipper yourself? I am. You like the little sips up? I love you, JT. Not a cigar gal though. Not into cigars, but love my life. You don't mind a little scent in the background for you. No, absolutely not. I find it very cozy. Are you a bourbon girl, a whiskey girl? Both. Okay. Both. That's really interesting. I would never have thought that, but you know, you never know who likes a little sips up. So good event last night, huh? Absolutely. Well attended, the airport put on a great event, the Hudson booksellers. I highly recommend. Yeah. They attend an event at the airport. It's well done. That's the one to go to. Hey, we are getting close next Thursday is July 4th. Here we are already thunder on the mountain. And I'm hearing some things behind the scenes that this is going to be more shells fired than ever before and a much improved upon, which I don't know how you do it. It was so good last year event. Absolutely. So all our partners at pyro shows of Alabama have got something really special up their sleeve. Volcan is turning 120 this year. Actually, he turned 120 on June 7th. And we are going to commemorate that with even more lights, sound fireworks. And so again, and all of this is made possible by our good friends at medical properties, trust, very good. And of course, all the I Heart radio stations will be simulcasting the great music soundtrack that's going to be there. Absolutely. Absolutely. The crew here at iHeart has been amazing. We enjoy being a part of it. We really do all of us that work on the air and all the staff behind the scenes. You know, we take our families out just like everybody else does. I get there early and I park my truck early in the day to make sure I got a good spot right up there by right out to the top of the hill so we can get a good view. We'll be doing it again. I hope this year. So yeah, I'm looking forward to it. When you guys get started in that day, is it an all day affair for you? Are you going to be there early on hanging out with the behind the scenes? Do you have, you know, guests coming by Vulcan and, you know, working with the folks that are putting the pyro show on and how early do they get started to set things up? Is it that day? Or is it before even that actually JT, they will start setting up on Monday the 1st. Wow. It is truly 48 to 72 hour endeavor. So they are out there building the wooden frames that hold the shells. They are out there overnight. The night of the third and then first thing Thursday morning, they are gearing up and the staff is out there myself included doing media. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I'm looking forward to it and enjoy our partnership too.
