Ryan Schmelz has updates on Supreme Court proceedings

Our Fox correspondent in DC on some maybe big decisions coming down from the Supreme Court Wednesday. Today starts three days of opinions being released. Well, let's start Ryan with the Trump immunity case. You think we'll get a decision on this one? - Oh man, we've been waiting on that decision for how long? So it's uncertain, you know, they've added additional days. So we're expecting rulings tomorrow as well as Friday and today. So I mean, we could get the decision before, you know, the debate or we can get it within hours before the debate. So it just really is a matter of time. And, you know, if not, then we're going to get this on Friday heading into potentially the July recess. - What's the other cases we're looking at? I know they were talking about the gender of firming cases and whether or not that's going to be banned or not. - I think the big one I'm looking at is the Idaho case, which is a challenge to Idaho's ban on abortions, which in many ways outlaws abortion in rare cases that the woman's life is at risk. But the legal challenge is, well, does that apply to just a medical emergency in general that doesn't exactly mean that the woman's life is at risk? So if the court were to rule with those filing the suit, then ultimately I think this would expand abortions in many ways for a lot of people in terms of what the exception is for a medical emergency that constitutes an abortion being the appropriate path forward. - Is there any indication inside the court behind the scenes, there seems to be a little bit of a contentious split and divide on a lot of these cases? - Well, we don't know. I mean, the court rules the way it does. There are Democrats asking for these justice to recuse themselves because they feel that to Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito are biased when it comes to the January six related cases. But so far they've completely refused to do that. - Expectations on the gender issue. - I know idea, no idea. This will be one of the first times they've ruled on that. So I think it's gonna be, you know, anyone's guess at this point. - All right, so yeah, today, Thursday and Friday, some major decisions could be coming down.
