Welcome to July 17th on the National Bay Calendar. Today, we're celebrating artistic expressions and the evolution of digital language. National Tattoo Day is a tribute to the ancient art of body ink. Tattoos have been used for thousands of years to express identity, commemorate events, and tell stories. Did you know the oldest known tattoos were found on a mummy named Atzi, the Iceman, who lived over 5,000 years ago? Tattoos have evolved from tribal markings to intricate works of art. Whether you have one tattoo or a full sleeve, today is a day to appreciate the artistry and the history behind this form of self-expression. You know when I was tattooing Atzi, I didn't realize it was going to last this long. It's just amazing. Seriously? Well, you know, people think I'm old and there's no doubt about it. Over 5,000 years. You're such a drama king. From body art to digital symbols, it's also World Emoji Day. Emojis have become a universal language in the digital age, allowing us to convey emotions, ideas, and nuances in our messages. The first set of emojis was created in 1999 by a Japanese artist named Chigataki Kirita. Since then, emojis have exploded in popularity and now include thousands of symbols from smiley faces to food items and beyond. They had color and personality to our digital conversations. Emojis are one of those things that I didn't know I needed and now I can't live without. You do use emojis a lot. I know it's all dated, but you know I use the thumbs up. Like all that's all I do, right? I don't want to type "okay" because it seems so waseous. Give you the thumbs up every time you text me. You write a whole sentence with emojis and I don't know what you said me, so there you go. Because that's better. I just think it always says you're awesome and that's what I've been to believe. Ooh yeah, I'm definitely going to give you some lessons. I'm like, "What are you doing?" I'm Marlo Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our adventures on Facebook and Instagram at Destination Celebration Shell. Until next time, keep celebrating. Time now to see who's celebrating on today's birthday club. For the 17th, just a couple of names, happy birthday to Betty Jean Martin and from my high school days, Joliet Stanley, we shared the friendliest superlative at North Rowan high school class of 66. Yes, that was us. Mike and Joliet, so happy birthday to Betty Jean Martin and Joliet Stanley. Joliet is not eligible to win, but Betty Jean certainly is and I will be giving my high school friend a call a little bit later in the day to check in on her. Now let's see. Some big name birthdays, David Hasselhoff, 72, Tom Cullen, 39, Angela Merkel, 70, Camilla Parker Bowles, 77. Gail Garnett is 81, our music spotlight, New Zealand Canadian folk singer, songwriter. She had this and her only number one hit in 1964. We'll sing in the sunshine. We'll laugh every day. We'll sing in the sunshine and I'll be on my way. I will never love you. The cost of love's too dear. But though I'll never love you, I'll stay with you one year and we can sing in the sunshine. We'll laugh every day. We'll sing in the sunshine and I'll be on my way. I'll sing to you each morning. I kiss you every night, but darling, don't cling to me. I'll soon be out of sight. But we can sing in the sunshine. We'll laugh every day. We'll sing in the sunshine and I'll be on my way. My daddy, he once told me, "Hey, don't you love you any man. Just take what they may give you and give but what you can." And you can sing in the sunshine. You'll laugh every day. You'll sing in the sunshine and I'll be on your way. And when all you have has ended and I have gone away, you'll often speak about me and this is what you'll say. We'll sing in the sunshine. You know we'll laugh every day. We'll sing in the sunshine and she went on away. That's always been one of my personal favorites. Gail Garnett won a Grammy for that beating out Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary and Woody Guthrie. Now today's motivational moment thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management, Raymond James and Madison. Make a break from being hard on yourself. And that's today's program and I want to thank you for listening. I appreciate that friends. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Be sure to count your blessings today. [BLANK_AUDIO]
