Today, we're savoring some crispy delights and learning about fascinating reptiles. National Corn Fritters Day celebrates a delicious treat that's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Corn fritters are made from a batter of corn kernels, flour, eggs, and milk. Fry to golden perfection. But did you know that corn fritters have roots in Native American cuisine and have been a staple in southern cooking for generations? Whether enjoyed as a side dish, snack, or breakfast item, corn fritters are a versatile and tasty way to enjoy breast corn. So my mom would make her corn fritters and then, so she would put them on a paper towel when she was looking at the other way, I would go steal one and then break an old little butter on it. And I'm sure she was like, "I knew there were six there before. What happened to them?" So are you going to make some today? I need to get my mom's recipe first. So I'll call her and see if I can get that. And then, Amy, that would be fun. Nice. From tasty treats to intriguing creatures, it's also World Snake Day. This day aims to raise awareness about the diverse species of snakes and their role in our ecosystem. Fun fact, there are over 3,000 species of snakes around the world. And they can be found on every continent except Antarctica. Snakes play a crucial role in controlling past populations and maintaining ecological balance. Despite their reputations, most snakes are harmless to humans and are an essential part of nature. I'm not going to lie, I do have a fear of snakes. Definitely not a snake person. I do like the rattles on rattlesnakes, though. I think those are pretty cool. I think snakes are cool. I'm just scared of them. Yeah. I think most people are. There's a reason we have them, so I guess we should show them a little love here and there. But I'm going to celebrate today with the corn fritters. I'm with you on that. I'm Latoya Johnson. I'm Marla Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. Join us for all our adventures on Facebook and Instagram. Until next time, you've celebrated next up.
