(upbeat music) - Better strap yourself in. It's time for the Howie Car Show. - Most importantly, and I mean this in the bottom art, Trump is a threat to this nation. If you wanna really see something that's said, take a look at what happened. - Live from the Matthew's Brothers Studio. - There's no place in America for this kind of violence. - Sick, we cannot condone this. - Trump and his Niagara friends are determined to take away your freedom. - I think everyone is underestimating Donald Trump. He is one dangerous man, and we need to take him really seriously. Take him out now. - Okay. - Donald Trump and the Niagara Republicans represented extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic. - And with this kind of inspiration, I will go and take Trump out tonight. - I am going out there to take out Donald Trump. - I don't respect these Niagara Republicans. - But there are a lot of people to do what I call quote, the wet work, unquote. Say, CIA term, take a guy out. - Because this Niagara crowd is really the most extreme political organization that's existed in American history. - They said, well, do you think Trump is responsible for what happened? - I said, well, look, I mean, obviously, he didn't pull the trigger, but he's certainly been tweeting out the ammunition. - Most importantly, I mean, this is while in art, Trump is a threat to this nation. - I mean, obviously, he didn't pull the trigger, but he's certainly been tweeting out the ammunition. - Rump swabs hacks and moon bounce beware. - It's. (dramatic music) - Howie Carr. - Welcome to the Howie Carr show, 844-542, 42, we're gonna keep taking your calls all through the day. And as most of you know who listen to the show, every day we put out Howie's homework at howiecarshow.com. And it's all the stories that I'm gonna be talking about and that they may interest you. And it's, I think it's a pretty good selection of assorted reading materials. But usually I save it for Howie's homework, but over the weekend I just, I couldn't, I was so angry about the coverage and what had happened to Donald Trump, that I just started tweeting stuff out that most of it ended up in Howie's homework this morning. But there were so many good stories about what had happened and how the Democrats had egged on all these insane people and had gotten away with it. And now they were saying, well, the Republicans have to dial down the rhetoric. But anyway, one of the good stories that I tweeted out yesterday was from Daily Caller, which is a website I read every day. And you should too. And it was by Dylan Houseman. He's the deputy news editor at Daily Caller. And the headline is, of course Trump got shot. It just took one not job taking Democrats seriously. I mean, you heard in the intro, how many times they just take him out? Take him out, eliminate from a member of Congress. They wanted to strip Trump of his secret service protection, nine of them, a couple of months ago, including one, and the bill was actually filed by getting Benny Thompson, who had a staffer who said, "Next time I hope they ain't better." So he had to fire her, but you know, she still said it. Thought she thought it was okay. But anyway, joining us now on the line is Dylan Houseman who wrote this story that they put on Howie's homework and I tweeted out yesterday. Of course, Trump got shot, it just took one not job taking Democrats seriously. Dylan, thanks for being with us here on the Howie Car Show. - Hey, I was glad to be here with you. - You know, it really is outrageous that they haven't really dialed it back all that much, either, have they today. - Yeah, it's been a little bit shocking to see. I think many of us, maybe some, maybe we're naive, those of us that thought this, but some of us I think thought there would be at least a bit of a grace period, if you will, maybe a week, two weeks, they would, you know, play as if they're dialing things back and try to stay a little quieter. And it hasn't really played out that way. Things have been, at least from certain quarters of the Democratic Party and from the media, have been ramped right back up. And I mean, even Joe Biden and his attempts to, you know, calm the nations, so to speak, last night was saying, was comparing the shooting to things like the Gretchen Whitmer, Kidnapping Quad, was it not even a real thing? - Yeah, it was an FBI, yeah, there were 16 people involved, 12 of them were on the FBI payroll and the other four were sleeping in cars and they were just working for weed and adult beverages, basically. It was ridiculous. And then he mentions Paul Pelosi's attack by the naked illegal alien after the bars closed in San Francisco from the Castro District of San Francisco. I mean, how does that attack whatever it was, stack up against the assassination, or attempted assassination of a former president? It was ridiculous. And also, they're still bringing up January 6th. How about the July 13th insurrection? I said earlier, Dylan, when does the House Committee on the July 13th insurrection convene hearings? - Yeah, obviously these things are all not the same type of incident. And I would like to think that, well, I don't know if it's worse or better if they know that and they're just lying about it or if they genuinely can't tell the difference. I guess people can decipher themselves, which of those two options is worse. But the reality is, is you kind of alluded to in the intro there and the piece gets into, this is bound to happen and we don't know all the details about the shooter yet and exactly what motives might have been or where he might have been coming from. But it's hard to turn around and say, we need to bring the temperature down and we need to unite as a country and do all these things when you've essentially been inviting something like this to happen. And this is essentially what they've been setting the stage for for months and years, in fact. Because that's how we deal with threats to democracy in this country and around the world is people that are actually threatening democracy get dealt with violently and get put down violently. That's how this country was founded, in fact. And so by saying and using that rhetoric for years, your laying the groundwork for something like this to happen whether or not this particular motive was that, in fact, we'll see. - We're talking to a Dylan Houseman, the deputy news editor for Daily Caller. He's got a good piece out. Of course Trump got shot. It just took one nut job taking Democrats seriously. And you mentioned the New Republic last week, formally a reputable magazine, now just another voice in the far left, alt-left universe. But they had a cover story. I guess it was an entire issue devoted to Donald Trump as Hitler. And you quote in here, somebody tweeted out, I don't even know who this guy is, Seth Dylan. So why would you wish Hitler a speedy recovery? All these people have been calling him Hitler for years and now they wish Hitler a speedy recovery. I mean, I thought the allies were sad in 1944 when the Edwin Rommel, a plot against Hitler, they were gonna blow him up with the bomb in the satchel. I thought everybody was sad when that went awry. If someone's Hitler, then you wanna take him out. So now like you say, they're admitting that he wasn't Hitler. - Yeah, I'm glad you mentioned that tweet because it was one of those things. I'm sure this happens to you as well. Sometimes where I saw that tweet almost instantly after I finished writing the piece and I was like, man, I wish I'd thought of this line because it's just so perfect that, as you said, why would you wish Hitler a speedy recovery if you actually believed anything you've been saying? If I believed, I'm sure you'd say it could be said for you or any other regular American. If I believed someone wanted to come into power to take out my family and throw people in camps and destroy the constitutional republic and lead us to a road of absolute destruction and take away all of our rights, I wouldn't be sending them get well cards in the hospital if something happened to them. But they reveal, obviously, as you said, they don't believe this to be the truth about Donald Trump. They know it's not the truth that he is not Hitler and that's why they're all now outing themselves on that lie by calling for unity and saying this is a bad thing and wishing him well because they've been using it as a rhetorical weapon, they don't actually believe it. In most of the cases, maybe some of them do like that staff or they got fired, but most of them have revealed themselves as liars. - Yeah, the media eye, which is a left-wing site, actually had a pretty good story today about the New York Times. The New York Times ran this hand-ringing editorial. The attack on Donald Trump is antithetical to America. Here's the quote from the New York Times. By the way, their front page section, on the front page editorial section over the weekend said that here, the quote is, "He failed the test of leadership in betrayed America. "Voters must reject him in November." But that's legit, it's just over the top and it's legit. So the New York Times, after the shooting, any attempt to resolve an election through violence is abhorrent. Violence is antithetical to democracy. Ballots, not bullets, should always be the means by which Americans work through their differences. But then, as media eye, I'll give them credit for this, they pointed out that they had something in their book review section a few years ago. Do you remember this? I just kind of vaguely remember it. How it ends, a short story. These are fictional narratives. Fictional narratives meant to imagine Trump's next chapter. I mean, what's that doing in the book review section? Just this is like college lit reviews or something. So they have this thing, this guy's name is Zoey or woman. Zoey Sharp, it offers the author of how it ends. She imagines a world in which a Russian assassin arrives in DC to kill Trump. The Secret Service agent arrived at the president's shoulder, heard the click spun in a crouch. He registered the scene instantly, drawing his own weapon with razor sharp reflexes. So then the gun jams, the Russians gun jams. Here, the agent said politely to the Russian, use mine. That's in the New York Times. And now they're saying, quote, any attempt to resolve an election through violence is abhorrent. I mean, this is ridiculous. They get it, but who's gonna call them out on this? - Yeah, not enough people are going to do it, unfortunately. And I love the cognitive dissonance in that fan fiction there, by the way, is Donald from getting assassinated by the Russians? Or is he an asset of the Russians? We need to pick a lane here, folks. But regardless, it's a great point that it doesn't really, there's no journalistic value in printing something like that. It doesn't really add anything to the discourse, to anybody's understanding of any issues. It's just, as I said, it's just fan fiction for people that hate a political candidate. And it is rich to now look back on that and think, oh, we condemn this kind of violence, this kind of rhetoric. Well, you know, why are you publishing stories like that? It doesn't add anything for anybody. So it's definitely a curious move that probably a lot of people are gonna sweep under the rug now that's something we can face-to-face with serious tragedy. - All right, Dylan Houseman from The Daily Caller, thank you very much for being with us. And it's a good piece, and we tweeted it out yesterday. So check it out, and I'm pretty sure it's in how we some work as well. Thanks for being with us, Dylan Houseman. 844-542-42. Edwin Rommel, Erwin Rommel, sorry about that. I haven't been doing much reading about the desert fox lately. But, you know, suddenly it's all come back to me when we're talking about Hitler and assassination attempts, et cetera, et cetera. Today's poll question, which you can vote in at HowieCarShow.com, is what saved President Trump's life Saturday night? Good luck or divine providence? Divine providence. 75% of the audience says divine providence. 25% think it was good luck. I thought it would be higher than 75%. I was thinking 85%, but that's the way it is. 844-542-42. What about-- let's not forget the movie "Death of a President," which literally showed George Bush getting murdered this from Andrew or the station that put up the snipers want. That was one of the late night shows, right? They had a picture of George Bush. I think it was during the 2004 campaign, a freeze frame, and then a bullseye, and then underneath snipers want it. I remember that. Nothing happened to those guys. That was just-- that's speaking truth to power. And let's not forget the late not-so-great Peter Fonda saying he hoped a couple of pedophiles kidnapped Barron and kept him in a state. And didn't Madonna want to blow up the White House? And I think it might have been Samantha Bee, the comedian, who said something about Barron being the first homeschool shooter, so-- Oh, God. I can't remember who it was, but I remember that quote. Oh, this is a crap-- how about this one? This is from Biden on June 28th. Not exactly an eternity ago. This is a tweet. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation. He's a threat to our freedom. He's a threat to our democracy. He's literally a threat to everything America stands for. Now he wants to return to civility. Chris, you're next with Howie Carr. Go ahead, Chris. Thanks, Howie. Years ago, in my previous life, I worked on a political camp-- Bob Dole's campaign in Connecticut, and we had a presidential visit. And we did a whole team of beforehand, and the Secret Service pulled every person you can imagine from all sorts of law enforcement state, police, local cops, DPW, the whole bit, into a room. And they ran that thing from the airport to the site. Anything within five miles of that site, they controlled. And what they would do is they would literally walk you through all the concentric circles of responsibility. And obviously, they wouldn't put untrained people in the room with the candidate and anyone else. But if you had some level of skill, you were put out in a certain area to secure an area. And then they have Secret Service agents actually onsite managing those who are not as-- The local law enforcement, yeah. Right. The Butler County cops are not trained in this kind of thing. They're basically mostly trained in arresting drunk drivers and parking at fares and all this other stuff. So to blame them is nonsense, because no perimeter was ever established outside the perimeter. And that's what you do, especially with high buildings. And then you assign people tasks to do them with people. Well, you saw, Chris, that there were stories last night that Secret Service is denying them that they pulled off sort of the '18, because Jill Biden was in Pittsburgh. And of course, Butler PA is like 35, 40 miles from Pittsburgh. So they had two big events for Secret Service. And Jill, of course, got the best protection. And Dan Bongino was reporting that. Someone from Real Clear Politics was reporting that. And Bongino, I think, used to be Secret Service. And but this morning, they're denying it. But they always deny stuff. Denied, denied, denied. [MUSIC PLAYING] Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. Somebody says someone at work would say, "Well, the guy who shot him was a Republican." Well, he was a registered Republican, you know. You ever hear of these Operation Chaos, like they tried to get every elder Democrats in various states to re-register if they were open primary states, where anyone can vote in any party they choose. They would say, take a Republican ballot if you're a Democrat and vote for Nikki Haley to slow down Donald Trump. And then in states like Massachusetts, where most people now, 60 plus percent, are independents or unenrolled, you can take a ballot in either party. And Nikki Haley got her highest totals in the towns. Basically, the town's not the cities, where they have the highest number of unenrolled voters. And they're all liberal communities. The more liberal the community, the more votes Nikki Haley got. Those aren't people voting Republican. That's what this guy was. He also, on the day that Biden was installed as president, January 20th, 2021, he contributed 15 bucks. He's just a high school kid at the time. He contributed 15 bucks to the act blue, the voter registration drive or something to get more Democrats registered. He's obviously a Democrat of some kind or a communist. And where is his social media? Is he the only guy who's 20 years old who doesn't have social media? 844-500-- so that's the question there. 5081, and where is she getting that? That's their fallback position, that he's a Republican. It's all BS. 844-500-42-42. So there's so much for toning down the rhetoric. This is just the beginning. This is their first Biden-Harris statement in response to JD Vance being nominated as vice president. As Trump's running, Vance will make it his mission to enact Trump's project 2025 agenda at the expense of America's families. You remember the Russian collusion hoax? You remember the Hunter Biden laptop? Is Russian disinformation hoax? Remember the Georgia phone call hoax? The Ukrainian phone call hoax? The suckers and losers hoax? The very fine people in Charlottesville hoax? This is the new hoax. The hoax does your project 2025. This is Joe Biden getting it all out there on Friday in Michigan when he trained his fire on Trump as the Washington Post. So in the elegantly put it, cut 20. That's the project 2024 is calling about. Project 2025 will deploy the Department of Justice to prosecute Trump's enemies. Which is what he's doing to Trump. His DOJ is doing to Trump. But now one of the big cases they had, the classified documents, was thrown out in Florida today. That was the Mar-a-Lago raid case. Because Jack Smith is not a real prosecutor. As Clarence Thomas pointed out in his decision, in his concurring opinion a couple of weeks ago, Jack Smith has no right to be prosecuting anyone. It's like going up to the Walmart greeter and they can pull it in my side and say, "Come on. You want to prosecute Trump? You know, we're swearing you in." He was never approved by the Senate. He has no right to do it. And it was thrown out. I don't want my mother to do my thing. Project 2424, 25 will deploy the DOJ to prosecute Trump's energy Trump, Trump, Trump, blah, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, billionaires and corporations are literally rooting for J.D. Vance. They know he and Trump will cut their taxes and send prices skyrocketing for everyone else. Wait, I thought that was your job. Isn't that what the Democrats have been doing? Prices up 27% since they took office? The sky has been sufficiently rocketed, I believe. How much more room? Oh, man. The Biden-Harris ticket that's focused on uniting the country, creating opportunity for everyone. Well, unless you're a straight white male or maybe just a straight male period and lowering costs, that's what the Biden-- this is their statement. They're going to lower costs. 844-542. David, you're next with Howie Carr. Go ahead, David. Howie, a basic thing, a person can look on Google Earth and look at that spot where the sniper was. There were three buildings that the Secret Service were on. And it was just a little over, basically, from centerfield to family park to home plate at how close the sniper was. And the thing is, they had a direct line of sight. I'm not willing to see the service guys. But somebody screwed up, somebody who OKed that hope, there's not that many buildings there, Howie. It's mind-boggling that that wasn't covered. But also, they want to tone down the rhetoric, Howie. Is that the rhetoric being like when Joe Biden and Obama, they shut down the port because they didn't have vertical pills and allowing talent to come in here? And then, all those motorcycles on Route 3 that a pass is with their license plate turned off. Howie on the left, they're on the right. They go in the tunnels, so probably it's subtle. And you can't hear it. Those were all illegals driving those things. How about the 100,000 dead Americans overdose Howie? And they want to tone down the rhetoric? No problem. Let's just state the facts. Those were all facts, Howie, that I just gave you. I know, yeah, tone down the rhetoric. Let me play a couple more of these cuts. We had a lot of them, cut 3. But the bottom line is that the Trump rally is a rally that he should have been able to have been conducted peacefully without any problem. But the idea, the idea that there's-- No, that's not the one. I want the other-- from the other cut sheet, the other Biden cut sheet. Cut 3. On the Maguery public, we're trying to take away our freedoms. That's not an exaggeration. Really? That's not an exaggeration. They're trying to take away your freedoms. And that's not an exaggeration, which is, again, a tell. You know what he says, it's not an exaggeration. It is an exaggeration. Cut 2. I know this. Trump and his Magu friends are determined to take away your freedoms, like the freedom to vote. Trump prags about taking away a woman's freedom to choose. He prags? He really prags? The knives are hatching the plan for a national ban, a national ban. So I won't let that happen. Are you with me? I've made it clear that the Maguery public has tried to pass a national ban on abortion. That's enough of that. Cut 9. Maguery public is looking at America and seek carnage and darkness and despair. They spread fear and lies. Lies toll for profit and power. But I see it different America. An America with unlimited future. They're trying to take away our freedoms, not an exaggeration, not an exaggeration. Quint, you're next with highway car. Go ahead, Quint. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive. You've been in the crosshairs before, Howie. And you and Trump, like Superman, are some of my favorite American heroes. You know, I may have been in the crosshairs, but no one ever pulled a trigger, ultimately. And that's a real big difference, Quint, you know? Hey, do you remember the original Superman episode? I sure do. I sure do. I remember those words. Yes. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive. Standing up for truth, justice, and the American way. Look, up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Superman. Yes. George Reeves. Thanks for the co-- OK, thanks for the call, Quint. Dave, you're next with highway car. Go ahead, Dave. Hey, Howie, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I can't evade the fact that this kit that had all the perfect profile traits for a stooge. You know what I mean? A patsy. You mean a patsy? Let's use Lee Harvey Oswald's famous term, patsy. Yeah. Yeah, somebody you could lie to, anybody could do it, and make them think you're part of a new secret organization. And that's why you got no communications or anything else to follow on this kit, right? And then you send them on a one-way mission, knowing you could just wash your hands and walk away. Well, when I heard that he was taken out on Saturday night, I was thinking of the-- there was this guy, mafia leader in New York, Joe Colombo. This was in-- he set up the Italian Anti-Defamation League, and he was complaining about the mafia coverage in the "Godfather" movie, which was fairly new at the time. And the mafia said he's bringing down too much heat on us. So they decided to take him out. They shot him in the head of this Anti-Defamation League rally, and the guy that shot him put him in a coma, vegetable for life, was a black guy. And as soon as the black guy shot him, Colombo, he was immediately taken out. So they never could find out who put this black guy up to shooting Joe Colombo. And I was thinking, I don't know what the conspiracy is, but it's very convenient when your shooter is dead, much like Lee Harvey Oswald come to think of it. Thanks for the call. Someone just sent me a page from the main Sunday telegram. This was July 14th. I don't see anything on the front page about the shooting. Oh, no, there's a tease at the very top. Trump safe, too dead after shooting at Pennsylvania rally. They didn't even put it on the front page. They just put a tease up there. It's a big stories. How a Wabanaki basket maker changed everything. Oh, I'm sure it's a very, very readable story and fascinating, and it's gotten a lot of clicks. But don't you think the story about the shooting of the president, the former president of the United States should have been more than a tease up the front page? 844, 542. I know. I understand it's not really a newspaper anymore. I got it. But still, you don't have to wait once a week for your favorite TV show to come on the air anymore. You just stream what you want when you want on demand. You also don't have to keep your favorite radio station on all day to hear a particular song or show. (upbeat music) - He's Howie Carr and he's back. - Coming up with all kinds of stats on JD Vance. I'm with 203, the one thing I don't like about him is that he went to Yale Law School. I agree, 203. I'm gonna try to overlook that. I guess I shouldn't paint with a broad brush. But JD Vance is the youngest major party candidate for vice president since 1856. James Buchanan selected John Breckenridge as his vice presidential candidate. I think Breckenridge ran for president. He was one of the four guys who ran for president in 1860. There was Lincoln, Douglas, Breckenridge, and somebody else whose name alludes me, and I'm sure everybody else in this audience. - He did okay after office though. He was appointed Confederate Secretary of War in 1865. - In 1865? - Yep. - That was a tough time to be going in the Secretary. - What did he show up at Appomattox? They give Leah Soreth a hand over to US Grant. By the way, somebody pointed out there is a slight resemblance, you know, facially and with the beard, the brown beard between JD Vance and another son of Ohio by the name of Ulysses Simpson Grant, also known as Unconditional Surrender Grant, who later went on to become the president of the United States. 844, 500, 42, 42. People are demanding that we have some cuts from last night, so I was going to do them later, but let's do a couple of cuts right now. This is Biden from last night, cut 11. - We resolve our difference at the battle box. You know, that's how we do it, at the battle box, not with bullets. - Well, you do it at the battle box with bullets. What are you using? The clubs or knives or the whip fight. A slingshot at the battle box. Cut 12. - You know, we're blessed to live in the greatest country on earth, and I believe that with every soul, I mean power in my being. - Every soul?
