(upbeat music) - Welcome back everyone to The Grace Curly Show. - Thank you so much for tuning in today. It has obviously been a weekend that no one is going to forget anytime soon. And today there's also news about the classified documents case and its dismissal, which came as a bombshell piece of breaking news, Florida District Judge, Aileen Cannon, Rules Special Counsel, Jack Smith's appointment, unconstitutional. So that's what I boiled down to. She issued a 93 page opinion. This is from Fox dismissing the case on the grounds. The appointment of special counsel Jack Smith to oversee the case was unconstitutional. I'm going to read you this quote. "Upon careful study of the foundational challenges "raised in the motion, the court is convinced "that special counsel Smith's prosecution of this action "preaches two structural cornerstones "of our constitutional scheme. "The role of Congress in the appointment "of constitutional officers and the role of Congress "in authorizing expeditchers by law." And I think that when you talk about the classified documents case being dismissed, and the fact that the appointment of Jack Smith was unconstitutional and the authorization of these expenditures by law was unconstitutional, there is a way to put this that's a lot simpler, which is it's another big L for the Democrats. - I always joke, I say, we wanna see win, win, win. I'm still winning, and you'll say if I'm president, and you say please, Mr. President, we're winning too much. We can't stand it anymore. Can't we have a loss? And I'll say no, we're gonna keep winning, winning, winning 'cause we're gonna make America great again. And you'll say, okay, Mr. President. - Yeah, you know what? There was a period where it felt like where's the winning? Where's the winning? It went away, and now it does feel, and it's a weird day to say it because obviously this weekend was very scary, but as far as these legal cases that go, they're, it's boating pretty well for Donald Trump and his legal team, and this is something that if it were a normal news day, I would bring on some experts. I'm gonna bring on Mark Salinas tomorrow to break this down for us after he gets some time to read about it and read about the case, but it's hard not to talk about Saturday in this rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that went totally off the rails when a gunman climbed onto a rooftop of a building that was about 400 feet away and started firing at the former president. And part of this, and I don't mean funny, ha ha, I mean funny, strange, is how quickly the Democrats, the progressive laughed, the media, but of course, wanted Trump to dial down the rhetoric after he was shot in the ear and was bleeding, and it was an attempted assassination, and the responsibility falls on him. Now meanwhile, about an hour and a half went by where Joe Biden was nowhere to be found. We had statements from Buttigieg, we had statements from Barack Obama, we had statements from George W. Bush, we had statements from everybody at that point. Your neighbor probably put out a statement before Biden did, and we're waiting and waiting, and the weird thing is, I saw people like Dave Portenoy and other people going, "Where is the president of the United States?" And I understand, if you have a logical, if you're thinking about this logically, that makes sense. If you don't follow politics all that much, you might be sitting here going, "Wait a second, shouldn't the president say something?" But as someone who watches Joe Biden day in and day out, that never crossed my mind. Like my initial reaction wasn't, "What's Joe Biden going to say?" And what it really, I think, speaks to Taylor, is that I don't think of him, and I don't mean this in January 6th, Iowa. I just, when I think of a voice that we need to hear from, I don't think of Joe Biden. I'm not concerned about what he's going to say, because anything he's going to say, whether it's about unity, or rhetoric, or political violence, there's no place, everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, and it has been since he entered politics. And so it never really crossed my mind about, "Where is he? Where is he? When's he going to talk?" 'Cause I'm like, "It doesn't mean anything to me." - Yeah, even though it doesn't mean anything, it was one of my first thoughts, like where is Joe Biden on this? Where is the incumbent president? That's the job of the incumbent president to address a nation that's in shock, or distress, or anything of that nature. And it took him quite a long time, relatively speaking, to put out a statement. I was checking his personal Twitter feed, the official POTUS Twitter feed, and the White House Twitter feed. Nothing for well over 90 minutes, I think. - And it's worth noting that they can be quick when they want to be. It's like the same with these reporters. You know how these reporters, they can get to the bottom of something if there's a will there? Joe Biden's social media team, I don't know if it's the Easter Bunny, I don't know if it's Ron Clayne, I don't know who runs it. But when they want to jump on something, like if something goes viral, or if they think they can dunk on a Republican, they get to that lickety split. They don't miss a moment. They are on that, like you wouldn't believe. So the fact that it took them so long, they must have been spitballing, like, okay, let's brainstorm, what can we say? You know, obviously we think he's Hitler, so it's gonna be weird if we send him prayers, but at the same time, we want to make sure, and it really does tell you all you need to know about this White House. They're so concerned about optics. And yet, you've never seen people worse when it comes to optics. Like for people who are so consumed with Twitter, and what people are gonna say, and what people are gonna think, and let's get him the hovercraft shoes, so he doesn't trip, let's do this, let's try to figure out a way that we can all surround him when he's walking across the lawn. They come up with all these schemes when they be better off just doing the normal thing right from the beginning. Put out a statement. Who cares if it's, you know, run of the mill, what everyone would say in that situation? That's okay, you could've put out the same thing George Bush did. You know, Jill and I are very happy that nothing happened to President Trump, and, you know, we're praying for a speedy recovery. Even if you get that out, and then people stop focusing so much on the silence, on the deafening silence of the fact that the President of the United States needs an entire team of people to give him direction on what to say when his opponent almost gets killed. Now, I do want to mention one of the other crazy things, which is the reaction of Republicans pouncing and weaponizing and seizing, and this idea that Donald Trump needs to apologize. Like, I've never been in a situation where the victim who gets shot is the one who has to come out first and make sure everyone knows that it's not their fault. And also, I think what Margaret Brennan and Jen Psaki and all these people want, is they want Donald Trump to wipe the blood off his face, get to a camera and say to my fellow Republicans, don't pounce and seize and weaponize on this. Based off the way he handled that moment and the photo that everyone took and the moment where he said fight, fight, fight, I think he wants Republicans to also seize the moment and also weaponize and pounce on that political moment that it was. Like, yeah, it was a scary moment for him personally, but politically that he knew. He knew when he hit the floor, this is gonna be part of history. And I'm gonna let these people know that I'm okay. And it's gonna send a larger message to the United States of America that I'm not going to stop fighting. And so for the response to be, why does he tell his followers to dial down the rhetoric? Why don't you worry about, you guys know my favorite quote from Miracle, why don't you worry about your own game? There's plenty there to keep you busy. Why don't you focus on Keith Olberman who's fantasizing about Donald Trump being assassinated? Why don't you focus on Kathy Griffin who's holding up the bloody Trump head for a magazine photo shoot? Why don't you worry about Joe Scarborough who's calling Trump Hitler every other day? How about you work on that? You work on that for a while and then we'll talk about the right side of things. The right side of things, we have our issue, sure. But I think you guys have plenty to work on on your own side before you start lecturing us while our candidate has blood on the side of his face. I wanna play a cut here that stood out to me. This was Jen Psaki, this is Cut 20. - For anyone out there who has a platform who thinks the moment right now is to be political and attack the other party, you are feeding into the danger, you are making it more likely there's retaliation. I'm incredibly scared, I'm scared for journalists, I'm scared for people who have public platforms of all parties and that's how people should feel. - Right away, did you notice who she scared for first? She scared for herself first 'cause like all journalists, like all journalists slash narcissists but the two go hand in hand, she knows that this whole thing, Trump being shot in the head, this whole thing is really about Jen Psaki, it's really supposed to be about her. This is one like, - Oh no, this, this whole thing, all of this. It's all about me. - Yeah, it's all about you, Jen. I'm glad that your first thought when Trump had a bullet raised by his head was, what about me? Is anyone concerned about me? The egos on these people would make you blush. And another part of this story, and I know it's not the most important thing, I know there's a lot bigger fish to fry but something I keep going back to here is how telling it is that MSNBC took Morning Joe off the air this morning because let's digest this a little bit. These morons at Morning Joe, Willie Geist, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, Al Sharpton, Mike Barnacle, they get paid millions of dollars to do a morning show about the news. And on a morning that some might argue is the biggest news day of the last decade, at least, they can't be trusted to do their morning show about the news. That's, that encapsulates all you need to know about the mainstream media. They are such clowns, they are not serious people, that they get paid millions of dollars to talk utter nonsense and fear monger about everything under the sun. But when actual news breaks and people are going to be tuning in and MSNBC knows they're gonna have a lot of viewers this morning, they have to take them off the air because they can't be trusted. I gotta quote my favorite here, Sebastian Meniscalco, aren't you embarrassed? You should be. This is embarrassing for you. You might as well plop somebody else in there and pay them millions of dollars. You could put me in MSNBC. You know, I'm not saying I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread, but you can pay me millions of dollars and I'm not gonna get you in trouble. You're not getting any lawsuits 'cause of what I'm saying. I want an explanation from the execs at MSNBC. Why do you have these people on the schedule? If you can't trust them when the biggest news breaks, why are they there? What is their purpose? And they've been given 24 hours to just cool down, digest, what has happened and digest what other people have said that was wrong already and have been corrected. People like Martha Raditz and people like Margaret Brennan, they've all had their ships righted and their network said, no, these guys still aren't gonna get it right. You gotta take them off the air. It's crazy. It's absolutely insane. Like as bad as you think they are, they're worse. As bad as we think they are, Taylor, that the heads at MSNBC know they're worse than that. Even in a moment where you go, well, I'm sure they wouldn't say anything that crazy. I mean, they're still human beings. Ah, no, no, no, no, no, no, they would. They would. So they had to be taken off the air. Congratulations, Mike Barnicle. You must be so proud of yourself. Last time I visited Perfect Smiles, I had a few things on my mind. One, a teeth cleaning. I knew that would be easy. Lori, my favorite dental hygienist in the world. She's a pro. She always does an excellent job and this time was no different. Also though, my jaw was really hurting me and I've had TMJ for a long time. I usually get Botox in my jaw and it's able to relax the muscle and it goes away pretty quickly. This time around, it didn't work. So I asked Dr. Houghton to check it out and he figured out that it was actually an issue with my bite and he was able to write that pretty fast and give me some much needed relief. It was quick, it was painless, it was awesome. And three, I explained to Dr. Houghton that I was interested in tweaking my bottom teeth. They're a little bit crooked. I've had braces multiple times, but they always go back. They always, it's like Democrats with voting. They always find their way back home and they start kind of getting weird. And so I said that to Dr. Houghton. He brought in Dr. Tam who is an expert with Invisalign and guess what, my Invisalign trays came in. This week, I'm going back to Perfect Smiles this month. I'm so excited to start this process. I will keep you guys updated at every step of the way. But that's why I love Perfect Smiles. There's no judgment, there's no pain, there's no stress. They're located right off Route 3. Take the first step and check them out online at PerfectSmiles.com. They're in Nashua. You can change your smile and you can change your life. We'll be right back. - The Grace Curly Show will be right back. (dramatic music) - This is The Grace Curly Show. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) We are now hearing that Bergum and Rubio have been told they will not be Trump's VP pick. There are rumors that RFK Jr. is back in the running. And I just read on social media that he, it says Trump hasn't picked yet. So I don't know how close to the actual announcement he's gonna make this final decision. - AP has reported that he has made a decision. - Okay, so we're getting mixed signals here. But some people- - But it is the AP. - Yes, some people are saying RFK Jr. What was thinking you read me from Benny Thompson? - Benny Thompson said top sources are telling me that RFK is in Milwaukee meeting with President Trump on the vice presidency. - That would be wild. That would solve a lot of problems for Donald Trump though. - RFK Jr, you don't have to like it, but he's got some followers and they're passionate. And they really, they align with RFK Jr. on several key issues including vaccinations, including the border. So if Trump were able to get those voters, I think it would be a sure thing. The only reason I don't believe that, or the only reason I hesitate to believe that is because I think that RFK Jr. would threaten to take up too much of the oxygen in the room and Trump doesn't really like that all the time. He likes to have a VP, I think, who's a little bit, who's more okay, you know, being in the background. Today's poll question is brought to you by JJ Manning auctioneers, whether residential, commercial, or land, JJ Manning can get your property sold now. To learn more, contact Charlie Gill at 800-521-0111 or go to jjmanning.com. Now this doesn't change our poll question, but it could have an effect on it if the rumors are true about RFK Jr. being VP, it kind of solves the issue. What is the poll question, Taylor, and what are the results thus far? - Today's poll question which you can vote in at gracecurlyshow.com is, will Biden grant RFK Jr secret service protection following the assassination attempt on President Trump? - Yes, now he might not have to, if Trump makes him his VP, but yes. - 64% say no. - Okay, let's go to David. You're up next on the Grace Curly Show. Go ahead, David. - Grace, Jen Psaki saying she's afraid for journalists, just a couple of things, because he knows they haven't been telling the truth that they've been lying to exaggerating omission of facts. She calls for dialing down the rhetoric, as they call Trump, a dictator, a tyrant. Oh, don't have to worry about the rhetoric, Jen. It just, you just need to ask questions of truth. For instance, who's the Democrat that used tax money to create data plus a research that created COVID, that killed 1.2 million Americans? Dr. Pochi, he's a Democrat, and they call Trump a tyrant, a dictator. Come on, let me see. - Yeah, I think Jen Psaki and the rest of the journalists who are now saying they're worried about themselves. First of all, maybe don't make it about yourself for two seconds, let, give it a beat before you start worrying about yourself. The narcissism on that one is pretty astounding, but the other part is they should just be worried about people, I don't know, not watching their programs, not buying their publications, not buying into their nonsense. They should be worried about job security, 'cause people are really starting to figure out that these people are full of, you know what? And they have been for 10 years, at least, no longer, but 10 years it's been really apparent. There's no subtlety here to these people in our media. And I'm sorry if I tend to always focus on that, but I think they're a lot worse than politicians. Politicians, that's the gig. You're gonna lie to people, you're gonna screw people. Maybe I sound like a pessimist, but that is part of the job. But the media is supposed to tell you the truth. And so which is it? Is Trump Hitler, and if so, shouldn't you all be happy about what happened this weekend? Or is he not Hitler, and you've been exaggerating so that you could pollute people's minds with all of this BS/poison? And I really think it's the former. We'll be right back, we'll take your calls, we'll play some sound from Biden on Sunday night. The number is 844-542-42. All calls for the rest of the hour, so get on the line now. I want your reaction to what happened this weekend. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) - Live from the Aviva Tratria studio. Violence has never been the answer. Whether it's with members of Congress and both parties being targeted in the shot, or a violent mob attacking the Capitol on January 6th, or a brutal attack on the spouse, a former speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, or information, an intimidation on election officials, or the kidnapping plot against the city government. - Oh God. - We attempted assassination on Donald Trump. There's no place in America for this kind of violence, for any violence ever. - They really, okay, so here's my thing. Do they really think that people are so stupid where people aren't gonna figure out like what a passive aggressive, but also kind of move that is? It's the same thing as when you had all of these people on college campuses screaming about how great Hamas is, and how, you know, Jews are pigs, and they want Jews to go back to Poland, like all these horrible things. And then you'd have all these Democrats get out there and say, but, you know, anti-Semitism is bad, but also Islamophobia. And I'm like, are there big meetings with tents of people being Islamophobic? 'Cause I'm not seeing that anywhere. I'm seeing a lot of people who don't like Jews though, but I'm glad you keep throwing that in as an addendum to whatever you're saying. Don't forget Islamophobia, and the new one is, yeah, Donald Trump almost had his head blown off, but Paul Pelosi was attacked by a hammer. It's like, we see what your, it's very obvious. And if you're gonna send in someone to do that, if you're gonna send in someone to make that kind of really pathetic speech, they should be a little bit more swab and savvy than Joe Biden, because he doesn't know how to do it for the life of him. Taylor, can you play that cut you found on social media where Joe was trying to come up with Make America? I know you're gonna have to look for it, that's okay. He was trying to, it's almost like he wanted to say, "Make America great again." And he just, as he so often can't, he just couldn't find the words. - So tonight, I'm asking every American to recommit, to make America so make America what it is. - Great again. (audience cheering) - The response from people on Saturday from 50 Cent, who was performing with a picture of Donald Trump in the background to comedians. There were so many people that were putting out there, I saw Shane Gillis with one of the patellar, putting out their support for Donald Trump and making it clear, Bill Ackman, how about that billionaire Bill Ackman went on Twitter and said, "I have to endorse Donald Trump and I don't care." - Well, Gillis had that whole joke about Trump getting shot and how funny he would sound. So I think he's probably ending that routine. - I think he probably is, but I do think he's a Trump supporter. And he always does a good job of making fun of everybody, but it's clear he leans more to the right. But yeah, I just, the reaction from Biden, like now he's going back to the unity. He's coming back, it's a full circle. He's coming back to being the unifier in chief. This was just, you know, this was the cherry on top, the attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump. And now he's really gonna restore unity. He was going to restore unity when he was first elected. That's what he ran on. He's so empathetic, so decent, so humane. He was gonna restore all this. Oh, he was gonna unify all of us and restore civility, restore the norms, bring back those norms. And that didn't really happen. And then, you know, he kept vilifying, demonizing, aligning Donald Trump over and over and over again, kept talking about MAGA Republicans. Remember he did it with like the red lights beaming down him and he really made it clear that he had no plan to unify the country. He actually wanted to divide us even further until the bullet grays Donald Trump's ear. And now we're supposed to believe for the second time that he's on a mission to unify us. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans are trying to take away our freedoms. That's not an exaggeration. Two weeks ago, he tweeted about how Donald Trump needs to be put in a bullseye. And you know what he did on Saturday? He deleted the tweet. What do I always say about deleting the tweet? It's right when you delete the tweet, you are admitting that you were wrong, that you did something wrong. 'Cause otherwise, just keep it up. If you have no regrets, if you're proud about what you said, you keep it up, but he deleted that tweet. And so now, are people gonna fall for this again? Like, oh, he didn't unify us for the first four years, but he's been inspired by his political opponent who he constantly compares to Hitler. He's been inspired by him, almost being shot, and now he's gonna get the urge again. He's gonna second wind to come back to this unity thing. I don't know if Biden has ever directly compared Trump to Hitler. I should be careful about saying that. Has he, Taylor? Do a little googling for me on that. Ron, you're up next on the Grace Curly show. Go ahead, Ron. - Grace, good afternoon. - What's going on? - Three quick points if I may. So with regards to like dealing with anxieties, I don't know if anybody has, I certainly haven't heard it, but are they reaching out to Trump supporters and offering counseling sessions and therapy and safe spaces for ways that process our anxieties? - No. - That's point number one. Point number two, I'm not gonna unify with anybody that thinks that child sex change operations and gain a function and encouraging criminal behavior and wanting something for nothing. I'm not uniting with those people. And then lastly, what we need to do as Trump supporters, I believe, is all the Trump haters in our life, regardless of how close or closely associated they are, we need to ask them how they would feel if we didn't make it out of that rally alive. - Yeah, and that's the part of this that I find really disheartening, Ron. I mean, obviously all of it's horrible, but I did think to myself, because a question that you have to ask yourself is what would have happened hypothetically if that shooter had been successful? What would have happened to the country? And I said to my sister, you know, the country would probably burn. I mean, people would be... I know I would never get over that anger. And my sister said it's kind of crazy that there aren't people out there burning things down or rioting. And then again, it was a conservative candidate who had his ear grazed by a bullet, not the other way around. I can't speak to what would have happened if there had been a Democrat up there, whether or not the country would still be this calm and handling it this way. But to your point, Ron, I really was hoping that what I would see on social media, what I would see in the news would be people who were kind of shocked back to reality, if that makes sense, like maybe understanding how close we came and how dangerous it truly was would make people rethink some of their extreme beliefs and really question their own deranged hatred for this man. Because hatred, I say this quite often, but hatred and misery, it's a very addictive thing. I'm sure people have had this in their own lives where someone drives you crazy and you gossip about them to somebody else and you kind of get addicted to that. Like, oh, we're gossiping. Oh, do you see what they did this time? Do you see this? There's something weirdly comforting about going back and being kind of miserable. It's an addictive thing. I don't know how else to describe it beyond that. And these people are addicted to their hatred for Donald Trump. And I thought that seeing this guy and seeing his humanity as Melania Trump pointed out, seeing that this is a father, this is a husband, this is a grandfather, this is a friend who was up there and almost had his head taken off that maybe that would make people realize, whoa, I have to walk back my own craziness here. I have to rein in some of this emotion. And I'll be honest, Ron. And I'm not just talking about, like for example, this guy from Mayor Adams's administration, he works for the budget office. He was just suspended 'cause he posted too bad, he missed on social media. Jack Black is in some band and his bandmate said the same thing on the stage. You know, something along the lines of Too Bad He Missed. And there's always gonna be a few of those instances after something like this 'cause people are terrible and not all the time, but some people are. But I know people personally, know what I'm close with, but I know people who went on social media and said things like this. Like, oh, you had one job or oh, I'm so bummed out that this person, that it wasn't successful. People I know. And that breaks my heart because that's when you really know, we've crossed the Rubicon for some people, they really would have been, I think, satisfied. They really would have been relieved if that shooter, I am so, I am beyond relieved that that shooter was not successful, but I don't think that's how everyone feels. I think there's a lot of people who, because they've been conditioned to feel as though Donald Trump is this existential threat, is this threat to democracy and to the country as we know it, that it would have been a good thing. And I don't know where you go from there. Rob, you're up next on The Grace Curly Show. Go ahead, Rob. - Hey, is it me? - Yeah, you're on, go ahead. - Are you there, Rob? Okay, sorry, Rob. 844-542-42. Now, this is the latest from The New York Post. It says, "The Secret Service blamed local police "for failing to secure the rooftop, "from which gunmen Thomas Matthew Crookes "attempted to assassinate former President Donald Day Trump, "insisting it was outside the perimeter "the federal agency was tasked with protecting. "Instead, securing and patrolling the factory grounds "of AGR International Incorporated, "located about 130 yards from the stage "where Trump was speaking Saturday, "was the responsibility of local Pennsylvania police, "according to The New York Times. "The Secret Service was only tasked "with covering the grounds where Trump's rally took place." And that might all be true. But the Secret Service, I don't care what they were tasked with as far as this is what, you're a task, your number one task is protecting Donald Trump. And when that fails to happen, it doesn't matter how many police you talk to you from the area in Butler. If that falls through, if that does not happen, if it comes that close, that's a huge problem. And there's going to be an investigation, there's going to be questions asked. And like everything else, I don't know how many answers will get necessarily, but they're definitely gonna have to have a better reason than that than we ask the local police to handle that part of the, that area of the field. That's not going to work. Rob's back, let's try Rob one more time, see if he's better. Rob, can you hear me? - I wanted to say, I wanted to say, Grace, it's amazing that President Trump didn't have one of his family members standing right next to him. So this could have been a real devastating impact. This brought me back to the triangulation of JFK. And I didn't sleep all night, I remember that. And if he didn't turn his head, he would have been a temple shot. And this would have been another day where they let the kids go home from school and let your parents tell you about it. And just Maryam Walker started back with Jason Huckabee out of restaurants and telling people go after us and Schumer wanting to release the crack in. And it just goes on and on with what they've stopped, they said. - Yeah, there's so many examples, Rob. And you're right. And I could have played them today. I could have played Chuck Schumer encouraging people to go after the Supreme Court justices. I could have played Maxine Waters, telling people to get up in people's faces, other politicians saying get to the streets, Goldman saying eliminate Trump. There's so many examples, but I don't need to show you guys those examples. I don't need to play those for you. You know they're out there. You've heard them for the last eight years. This, you're not green. This isn't new to you. You weren't born last night. And what Rob just said about it being a day where you'd send the kids home and your parents would have to explain it. I was talking to my dad this morning and he said the same thing and he was so relieved. And he said, it was gonna be like 9/11 where everyone walked around in a fog for weeks afterwards, just so unsure of what was going to happen and where we are as a country. And we are all so lucky. And beyond that, it does, at least for me, and not maybe not for everybody else, but it does convince me that there was larger forces at play that were protecting Donald Trump on that stage. And Ivanka Trump said the same thing. She said she thinks it's her mother, Ivana, who we know that even though she was divorced from Donald, they remain close friends her whole life. She said she thought she thinks her mother was in some way, shape, or form. They are protecting him on that stage. Richard, you're up next on the Grace Curly Show. Go ahead, Richard. - Hi, how are you? - Good. - Yeah, basically I think it's, we're starting to see a culture of law enforcement or lack of credibility and accountability within the law enforcement from, I think the heads of all the alphabet, I call them the alphabet, James, whether you want to go with the alphabet, Google people, to FBI, CIA. The heads of the government need to one step down because I think they're a little too powerful when people are afraid to go up against a secret service guy or the head of the secret service. You know, the guy on the roof probably should have taken the shot. Now, it comes all the way down to the state level. Can't perfect example. You know, it's a shame but it's the quality and state of the law enforcement culture. My check is there. My check's gonna be there. - Right. - My retirement's in place. - And I think that's where we're failing. - Yeah, and you know what else Richard, you just reminded me of this, but when there was a press conference and the secret service did not go to the press conference, which a lot of people pointed out was also a bit odd, but they were asking the point person there if this was a massive security failure and he gave the same line that we hear from everybody, from the FBI, from the CIA, whenever there's a problem, whenever there's a catastrophe, I can't comment on that or we need to investigate more. Why, once in a while, would it be so bad if someone said, yes, yes there was and we're gonna get to the bottom of it? Like they think that they're protecting themselves by saying, we really don't know yet. I have two eyes and I watch the president of the United States almost get his head blown off. So I think we do know there was a failure. If that's not a security failure, I'm not a police officer, I'm not a member of the secret service, but if that's not a security failure, I don't know what is. I don't know how much, like I want them to investigate. I want them to leave no stone unturned, but can we all start from the same point of reality of saying something definitely went wrong for it to get that far? I don't know how much investigating you need to do to get to that point. We'll be right back. We'll talk to Howie Carr. Don't go anywhere. - You're listening to The Grace Curly Show. (upbeat music) His supporters though are using images like the ones we're seeing on the screen, including how both of his sons pinning those images to their ex-accounts, the website formerly known as Twitter. Pointing out the idea that their father, the Republican nominee in waiting, if you will, is a fighter and kind of seizing on this moment to elevate him politically. - The idea that he's a fighter, I don't know. I feel like if you get your ear almost blown off and you end up on the floor and you get back up and you say, "Fight, fight, fight." I think that makes you a fighter. I don't think that they're seizing on the idea that he's a fighter. I think he is a fighter. Today's car crossover is brought to you by ReadyWise with inflation, food and energy cost rising. Speaking of people who are gonna pound seas and weaponize on what happened this weekend, Howie Carr joins us now. - I am a man who was known to law enforcement and I am a lone wolf. - Well, the reason that I'm really glad that to listen to your show today is that you have so much knowledge on the JFK assassination and a lot of people are harkening back to that moment and how little we still, some of the answers that remain, or the questions that remain unanswered and they're worried that we're not gonna find out enough about what happened this weekend. - Well, you know, I was thinking about it. You know, I think it's pretty clear and Trump even says it if he hadn't turned his head to look at that jumbotron, he'd be dead, you know? And it's like JFK got hit once and, you know, normally when you get hit, I think your instinct is to go down, right? But he, you know, injured his back, you know, when he was messing around with fiddle and fattle at the White House pool or somewhere, you know, one of these extra marital rops and he was wearing this basically a girdle. And so when he got hit, he couldn't go down. He was penned up and that's when he got hit with the head. - All right, how he's gonna be talking about this today? This is The Grace Curly Show.
