I'm Michael Adeyaw. Last night was rough. As the heat got 40-piece by the Utah Jazz, I was very dejected in my post-game video. Maybe I even crashed out a little bit. Got down as much as 40 fucking five to this team. But that video did perform very well. So I do greatly appreciate all the support. And if you're watching this video and you're not subscribed, well, feel free to hit that button. But I can't tell you what to do. But anyways, if you wanted to see a more optimistic version of me, you can check out the Basement Sports Network post-game show from last night because I literally went on a hilarious five minute optimistic ant rant. You know who my 2026 most improved player is? You know who it is? Cat flexibility. Hey, now James Harden, Hall of Famer. Brandon Ingram, discount KD. Chris Middleton. Looks like the duck from Chicken Little. That's a good movie. But what I said at the end there is true. The heater going to prioritize cat flexibility in any Jimmy Butler trade. The problem is though, who really wants to trade for a 35 year old disgruntled star who's asking for a max extension that's going to pay him $60 million at the age of 37 when his body is already falling apart and in exchange sent over a bunch of expiring contracts. It's just highly unlikely. And that's kind of been the storyline that all the major publications are putting out today, which is the heater having trouble finding a trade partner. I mean, he was Brian Wentworth on ESPN just this morning. They've definitely gotten a lot of calls. The issue here is that most of the offers are not that attractive to the heat and that doesn't surprise them Gary. And that doesn't surprise me either because we know the heat we're feeling offers for Jimmy Butler a few weeks ago back in early December. And if the heat didn't like those offers back then, what the hell do you think those offers are going to look like now? Now that Jimmy has made it publicly clear that he doesn't want to be here or at least he can't get his joy back or now that things have gotten ugly. The heat have lost all leverage. And I do find it a bit ironic that teams are now starting to low ball the mind heat because I do think for a long time that's what the heat we're doing to other teams. And now I think the other organizations in the NBA are finally tired of helping the mind heat. I mean, we can go back to the Damien Lillard situation, which yes, I do think Joe Cronin is a bitch asshole for life and he's always going to be number one on my op list. But I don't think the heat for an office handled that situation that well, either I understand and trade negotiations. You're not supposed to put your best package forward at first. That's not how a negotiation works. You got to start somewhere small and then eventually you meet in the middle. But when you low ball the other side of a negotiation from the start, they now feel disrespected and they're going to be unwilling to negotiate in general. And I do think that's what happened between Pat Riley and Joe Cronin. I'm not saying Pat Riley should have put out Tyler here on Yoavitch and Homie and everyone at first know. But I do think the heat initially low balled them and that's why Dame didn't end up here. And who's to say what this team would look like right now if he did? Maybe they win the NBA championship last year and we're not in this spot. I don't know. But I do find it ironic that now teams are low ball and mind heat because it means they're getting a taste of their own medicine finally. So what exactly is Jimmy Butler's trade value? Well, I don't know for sure. Maybe I'm a little bit biased because I've been watching every Jimmy Butler game the last six years. He's one of my favorite players of all time. So what I did do is I scoured the internet for a bunch of mock trades so we can kind of come to a consensus on what the market for Jimmy Butler is. And today a guy named Sam Vasini of the athletic put out a pretty great article with four mock trades that I do find to be pretty realistic. His article is titled Jimmy Butler trade scenarios, warriors, sons, which landing spots make the most sense. Now of these four trades, I truthfully don't think any of them are great for Miami. But that's just the reality of the situation and where we're at right now. So if you're a heat fan, you don't like these trades, just realize that the heat really don't have any leverage in this situation anymore. And then feel free to criticize Sam, not me because I did not make these trades. Now, eventually I'll find some time to get in the trade machine and cook some up myself and then y'all can criticize me. But for now, let's take a look at Sam's trades. In the first trade in which he says it's the one that makes the most sense is a three team deal between the heat raptors and warriors. The heat will be receiving the expiring contracts of Bruce Brown, Dennis Schroeder and Gary Payton II. They would also get the Warriors first round pick from this year and then a second round pick from the Warriors in 2031. The Raptors would get Andrew Wiggins massive salary and some salary filler in the form of Gee Santos. And then of course the Warriors would end up with Jimmy Butler. So we'll just start with the Warriors on this one because this is why I think Sam said this trade makes the most sense is because the Warriors also have an aging superstar who's playing very well. I think they want to try to go one last run with Steph Curry. And I think Jimmy Butler could be a great guy to do that with. So they don't really have to worry about their future or any sort of long-term flexibility because they want to win in their championship window, which is in the next couple of seasons. And I think Jimmy Butler can help them do that and they're not really losing too much here. I know they just traded for Dennis Schroeder, so this trade cannot technically happen right now. It would have to happen a little bit closer to the trade deadline. But that's pretty much the case with all these trades going forward. From the Raptors side of things, they're essentially getting some value back for the expiring contract of Bruce Brown, I suppose. And maybe they want Andrew Wiggins, you know, get the Canadian back in his home country. And he could sort of fit a nice young core they have there with the manual quickly and RJ Barrett because those guys have been playing well and so was Andrew Wiggins. Because last year, Andrew Wiggins was looked at as one of the worst contracts in the league. And I wouldn't say he's necessarily back to playing at the value of his $26 million, but he is having a much improved season. And then from the heat side of things, you are getting that expiring money that we know is necessary. And these are three pretty decent players as well. If you wanted to try to go for the playoffs this year, even though that doesn't really matter, I know Gary Payton II is out for the season. But I do think Bruce Brown and Dennis Schroeder could certainly play right away. And who knows if Bam and Abal can get back to the All-Star we know he is. And Tyler Hiro keeps playing like the All-Star. He has been this season. Maybe the Heat Team can win a first round playoff series or something. I don't know, but that wouldn't really be the goal with this season anyways. Now I will say though, with the first round pick, it's not a great one because you are getting the pick from the Warriors this season and obviously they're trading for Jimmy Butler. So they're going to be a very good team. So you're looking at a bottom of the first round pick there, which the Heat have shown they are really great in the draft no matter where they pick. So there certainly is still some value to this. But I definitely would prefer to get one of the Warriors picks in 2031 or 2030, where they still do have some first round capital because by then you're talking five, six years from now, who the hell knows what the Warriors are going to be like? You could certainly have, you know, maybe a top five or lottery pick at that point. But moving on to the second trade of this article in which Sam calls the big swing, it's a three team deal between the Heat, Nets and Rockets. The Heat would be receiving the expiring deals of Bo Hamadonovich, D'Anthony Melton, Jeff Green, and Zaire Williams. They'd also be getting a first round pick from the Nets and a first round pick from the Rockets and then a second round pick from each team as well. The Nets will be receiving Jalen Green, Jacqueline Dell, Jason Tate and Aaron Holliday. And of course the Rockets would be receiving Jimmy Butler. Now, I do believe this is a big swing for the Rockets because of course they're a very young team and a very successful one. So then making a move for Jimmy Butler is them essentially taking a big swing to try to win this season. I don't particularly think Jimmy Butler would be enough with that young quarter to win a championship this year. I don't think they'd be better than the Celtics or Cavs or Oklahoma City Thunder, but it would show the young guys that they are trying to go all in. So if they want to be aggressive, I respect it. They're not really losing a ton here outside of Jalen Green, who has been very inconsistent for them anyways. And I definitely don't want Jalen Green to get rerouted to the heat here because that fit with Tyler Hero was awful. So I am glad he's getting sent to the Nets at this point. I guess that is the Nets incentive for doing this trade. Maybe they think Jalen Green's a young guy that they can build around, although his fit with Cam Thomas is also weird for the same reasons it's awkward with Tyler Hero. But they really would only be giving up essentially a first round pick here and a couple expiring. So if they want to take a shot at Jalen Green, I guess I get it. And the rest of the guys there would kind of just be salary filler for the Nets. But for them, for the Miami Heat, they are getting those four expiring contracts to once again allow them to have that flexibility, except this time they are getting two first round picks, which already makes this a better trade for me than the previous one with the Warriors. Now, none of these trades will really have great value first round picks because even though this first round pick from the Nets is coming from the Nets, it is technically Milwaukee's first round pick. And obviously Milwaukee is a pretty successful team as with the Houston Rockets with Jimmy Butler. Now that Houston first round pick is in 2027, that one isn't for this year. But like I just said, the Rockets are young. They are a team that's still going to be very, very good in two years, if not better. So at least you got two first round picks in two seconds. So it's a decent amount of draft capital for Jimmy Butler, although the value of those picks isn't great. But this is probably the best you can do for a Jimmy Butler trade, if you're the Miami Heat. And the next trade here is the one Sam is calling the desperation move. And I really don't want to spend that much time talking about it because it's the deal between the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat and which the Heat get Bradley Beale. And of course they send over Jimmy Butler and Josh Richardson just to make the money work. And the reason I don't want to talk about this trade for that much longer is because it will never happen. Under no circumstances will the Heat acquire Bradley Beale unless he has some kind of draft capital attached to him. Because the Heat didn't want Bradley Beale a couple years ago because they didn't want to pay him. So why the hell would they want to pay him now? If the Heat were willing to dish out that much money, they would have just paid it to Jimmy Butler. And then Jimmy would still be here. Now if there's a way that Phoenix could find a way to reroute Bradley Beale to another team and then the Heat get the expiring assets in return, maybe. Or if the Suns make some other moves and get some more draft capital and then attach that to Bradley Beale. Okay, maybe the Heat would take on that Bradley Beale money if they got a couple of first round picks with it. But if not, there is no scenario in which this trade happens. And then the final trade here, it's the one that Sam is calling his favorite move of the article. It's a three team deal between the Heat Pistons and Grizzlies. The Heat would be receiving the expiring contracts of Tim Hardaway Jr, Luke Knard. And then they've taken on a couple of three year contracts from the Grizzlies and Brandon Clark and Gigi Jackson. They'd also be getting a first round pick from the Grizzlies this year. And then a couple of second round picks from the Pistons. Now the Pistons will be getting Marcus Smarts and the Grizzlies get Jimmy Butler and Alec Burks to make the money work. Again, from the Grizzlies side of things, no brainer move for them to get Jimmy Butler. I do feel a little bit differently about them as I do the Rockets in which I do think if the Grizzlies got Jimmy Butler, I do think they could potentially contend for a championship this season. That team is balling and they have absolutely no weakness with a starting lineup, including guys like John Moran's Superstar, Desmond Bain, Sniper, Jared Jackson Jr., DPOY candidate. You add a guy like Jimmy Butler to that core and I certainly think they compete for a championship right now. From the Pistons side of things, I guess they value Marcus Smart. Would they trade Tim Hardaway Jr.'s expiring in a couple of seconds for Marcus Smart? Maybe I don't necessarily know why they already have a ton of guards on that team that can't shoot, but maybe they just value the name, former DPOY Marcus Smart, I guess I don't know. But from the heat side of things, this is the first trade where they're not getting all expirings, which is interesting because they would need to take on three years of Brandon Clark and Gigi Jackson. Now, obviously Gigi Jackson, he makes very little money, he looks like he makes 1.8 million a year, but he also is an awesome player. We saw him kick the heats ass in the summer league and I know he's had some injury problems in the regular season with the Grizzlies, but he's certainly a guy that looks like he can be a very good player in this league for a long time. He's 6'9", he's got a little bit of versatility to him on the offensive end, defensive end, and he's very, very young. So he actually is a piece that I think the Heat can use as a part of their future of this team, and that's really the only trade in this video where the Heat are getting a young piece that they can look at for their future. I mean, Brandon Clark is not that old either, and he's also not making a ton of money, only 12.5 million per year, but I really don't think he's that great player anymore. There was once a pot of time after his rookie season where he looked like he had a bright future in this league, but he's just kind of turned into an average player after that, and he's certainly not a guy that I think you can build around. But in this case, the Heat still do get a first round pick. It is this year from the Grizzlies, so like all the other trades, it's not going to be a high value first round pick, but that's just the reality once again. I mean, that's really all I got to say for this video. These are four trades that I think accurately depict what Jimmy Butler's market is, but I'm kind of curious to hear what y'all think down below. So let me know which one of these trades you like the best. Feel free to drop some trade, mock trades of y'all. I'll look through those, and if I see some good ones, maybe I'll make a video about y'all trades too. If I have to look at these trades, I guess I'd probably say that the second one with the Rockets and Nets is my favorite, just because it's the only trade in which the Heat get two first round picks. But either way, they're all very, very similar. Yeah, like the video, subscribe, I do greatly appreciate all the support. Of course, the Heat start a pretty long West Coast road trip starting tomorrow, so I'll probably see y'all with some post games. I guess those post games I'm going to have to record at like 2 AM. Damn, it's going to be tough, especially if the Heat keep losing by 40 every game. I don't know, we'll see what happens. Like the video, subscribe, I'll see y'all next time, peace out.
