Your morning ray of sunshine by Anand Sefkumarou. You can be right without being egoistic. Many a time in a work situation or even in a relationship, there is a disagreement where we know we are right and the other person isn't. It's perfectly fine to insist on things being done our way, declare emphatically why that is the correct approach and stay steadfast on that. The only thing that's not on is getting egoistic about being right. What's the difference? When we just want to make the other person understand why our stance is the correct one, then we are capable of just stating the facts, making the argument without any wish to dominate or crush the other person. We come from a place of seeking to educate and inform, carrying them with us. But when ego shows up, the attitude is I know better. Everyone else is an idiot. There is a desire to demonstrate our superiority, rub their noses in it. All this succeeds in doing is getting the other person's back up, which could lead to them resisting us despite understanding our logic because we are attacking their identity and worth totally not needed. In such situations, the best thing to do is take a minute, consciously drop our ego, drop this feeling of I am smarter and just come from the place of genuine communication and wanting to get on to the same. Without letting go, what we know is right. It actually helps if you think of ourselves as someone who is just sharing knowledge, working together as part of a deal, as opposed to being a boss otherwise is due in the room or treating the situation like a battle that we have to win. Win people's hearts and minds. That's the bigger victory. Sunshine in your day. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] You
