How many hours of sleep collectively, I guess you got this weekend? Collectively. Starting on, let's say starting Friday night. So Friday, Saturday, Sunday, total. We won't count Sunday. I don't know, we can count Sunday night. We can probably count to do, but like, yeah, let's count last night too. Last. Okay. All right. Fine. Oh, Grace is saying combined eight. I'm going to go with a combined, let's see, you're not going to, you don't get eight hours on a good day. I know this. So like five, six is your, your, your sweet spot, let's go 12. I think Henry's got 15. I'm going to go with 13. Combined? Yeah. Here's the thing. Last night actually skews it a little bit because we did. Not much of a show. Well, yeah. And we went to bed early, like there wasn't a whole lot going on on a Sunday night. So it's like, ah, we can go to bed early. And yeah, I did get a kids are back in school today. So I need to get up to, you know, help, help with that. And yeah, and cover new year dash as well. But last night skews it a little bit Friday night didn't sleep at all. Stayed up from just all day Friday, didn't go to bed before Wrestle Kingdom for maybe four, four-ish hours, five, maybe five hours throughout the day on Saturday, did not sleep much at all on Saturday. Like Friday night, none Saturday, maybe four or five hours. And then Saturday night didn't sleep because Wrestle Dynasty started at a decent hour, started at 10 pre-show. So it was covering collision, go right into Wrestle Dynasty. And then slept from about four o'clock to maybe about six hours that day, one o'clock. You woke up then? Yeah. Yeah, 10 or 11. All six or seven. So that's Saturday Sunday, but Sunday went to bed or that was kind of Friday Saturday. Sunday went to bed early. Went to bed last night at like 11 o'clock and slept until six. So I did get like seven hours last night. So I actually did get some sleep last night. I was not waking up at 4.30 for a new year dash. I'm sorry, that show has not been important for years now. People like to still act like it's still an important show and it just has it. And until they prove to me that they're going to make an important show again, I had no desire to wake up at 4.30 to watch a road to show because that's all it was. It was a road to show. When was the last time the year dash was important? I remember the return of Menoros Zukin Suzuki and Suzuki goon, but that was like, what was that? 2013, 2014? No, no, no. That's later than that. But like, you know what I'm trying to say, it's been, like you said, it's been a while since New Year dash has been this like super important show. Chaitan spursing literally last year, but that was just because you had Mox Danielson and Tana, right or Ocata? Yeah, nothing else really happened to your dash last year outside of those guys teamed up, right? Yeah, I'm trying to remember of like what big thing happened last year. And there wasn't like a big return, there wasn't like a big angle or anything. It was just those guys teamed, which is obviously a big deal. But here's the thing. I did not expect AEW talent to be on the show today because I figured, oh, they're going to get back to like Kenny's going to be on dynamite. Mercedes is probably going to be on dynamite. I don't know about the books, but I just didn't expect any AEW talent on this show. I figured most of them would fly back to be part of dynamite, certainly Kenny. So I didn't have the expectation of, oh, maybe some like, there's going to be some big AEW surprise on this show. That was not my expectation. Yeah, there's nothing like Omega and Ocada teaming is it's literally what could have happened at Wrestle Dynasty. Omega and Ocada teaming. Yeah, no, Omega and Ocada teaming up last year, last year, last year, that was Daniel said last year was Daniel said, Moxley, Oh, yeah, no, but then they do an Omega, Ocada team or maybe Omega was out all last year. What are we talking about here, folks? Yeah, hold on. Yeah, I'm not crazy. That was right. The first time. Yeah. Okay, good. I'm making sure I'm just like, regardless, if you did an Omega and Ocada team, that's still like feeling like a wrestling dynasty, a Wrestle Dynasty show. Anyway, it's fine. Yeah. Tana Hashi and Omega teaming would have been a big deal. If that happened at New Year dash, that would have been a big deal, but it didn't. Right. Well, instead we got a new year dash that happened like it did. So. Okay. Yeah. 23. All right. Cool. Like, yeah, I believe that happened. But that's the thing is like they've, they've done like these cool like dream pairing teams, which is nice to see, but they haven't done like this big kind of must see angle in the past few years. So yeah, if I, if I had the expectation of, Oh, maybe Omega and Tana Hashi will team then that would have been that would have been something certainly I'm not going to like this miss that is not a big deal, it would have been a big deal, but I didn't have that expectation because again, I thought that Omega would fly back because he's going to be on dynamite. I know his graphic doesn't say like he's going to be in person. It says he's, it says he's returning to dynamite. They made it pretty clear. He's going to be there live, he get like it just is graphic doesn't say, Oh, appearing live, but like it says Kenny Omega returns to a w dynamite. I don't feel like they're going to hype that and just do, yeah, here's a video package. He's sending a video message. So I, I believe he's going to appear live and my expectation was well, he's going to appear live on dynamite, probably not hanging around wrestling again on wrestle on new year dash. And that was the other thing is I would, even if he showed up the new year dash, I was not expecting wrestling on the new year dash. They got him for the gave kid match. Cool. Everything's good there. I don't think he was going to be like, yeah, you also get him at like a new year dash match, because at least we dynasty, you could say it's an a w w or a w sorry, a w new Japan joint show, new year dash not a joint show, Chris Charlton got a finger wag there for, for probably speaking ill of a w they certainly made illusions to that on new year dash. That feels like it may have been a more of a key thing, but I don't think it's very possible. That it was, but they certainly went, whether it was or wasn't, they got people talking about it. So good on him. I thought Charlton was just kind of in, in K fabe and, but he, he went heavy handed with it though. Who's K fabe? He went very heavy almost to a detriment. I was like, all right, I get it. It was, it was a little much, maybe pulled it back a little bit. Um, the guy, these are heel announcer, he's representing new Japan. I get all that. But he may be going to pull it back just a little bit. I feel like if you really want to turn this into something, because sometimes in professional wrestling, things that go too far become story plot points to so on and so forth, you've got a forbidden door show coming up this summer in, in the UK and London, you can play into that, having to get McGinnis be one side of that because he's talking to heel announcers, have Nigel McGinnis be the, the AW side of that Charlton be that side of that. And eventually the two kind of get a little more heated and heated to get forbidden door heated up again. So it's not just forbidden door matches. I'm just trying to add stakes to something that started somewhere, trying to do something sure. Sure. But announcer feuds. Oh, I'm not saying, no, no, I'm not saying that they're going to turn it into a feud between each other. I'm saying that they will be the mouthpieces for each other's companies, speaking to the fans that inevitably become matches between the wrestlers. I'm not saying that Nigel's going to, you know, lead someone to the ring or that Charlton's going to become like the New Japan spokesperson. I'm just saying that through the commentary at either of the shows that you watch, they make these little barbs, they trade barbs that inevitably it heats up the locker rooms and then turns into a forbidden door that's actually New Japan versus AW and not just what it's been for the last few years, which it's been like, yeah, we're friends, but we're just having dream matches. Like add, we'll add a little bit of a posturing, we'll add a little bit of not even stakes, but just a little bit of like tenseness to this friendship that AW and New Japan have. The wrestlers do that. That's where I think Charlton actually where I thought he was good is he was talking about Yoda Suji said this, Gabe Kidd said this, that's where I thought Charlton did a good job of conveying. Hey, this is how the New Japan wrestlers feel about things. I think when announcers try to think again, Charlton was a little too much at points and I don't need the announcers going back and forth of like, ah, that Chris Charlton guy feels like this, all the New Japan wrestler feels like this. Let the wrestlers give the opinion, tell it from the wrestlers perspective because those are the guys fighting the announcer, because then it just sounds like an announcer's bickering and we got so much of that during the WWE days when it was a bad product that I don't I don't need to revisit that at all. Okay, that's where like I said, I'm trying to make something out of what whatever New Japan's doing with Chris Charlton, that's all, but we'll see where it goes. It could be nothing or it could turn into something going in a forbidden door. Did you enjoy the interview with Jimmy Treina? It was good, honestly, like, you know, he said some stuff and didn't say a whole lot of stuff. Like, it's fine. Whatever. But, you know, he it was a good interview. You're going to get as much as you're going to get out of out of Triple H and Jimmy Treina is like a fine interviewer, but you can he's not asking like super pressing questions. You know what I mean, like, it's not the train is like bad or anything. You're just like going to press on a lot of things. You're just going to kind of ask and that's it. So, but it was a good interview. There's a lot that came out of it. It was informative. I appreciated that as someone who covers this stuff. I think I did like six articles on Saturday night, just Saturday night and then I scheduled a bunch more from it. So yeah, it was at least like an informative interview. Even if the interview is not like great and not pressing on stuff, fine, but if I can get like an information out of it, I will take it. Did you watch the the CM Punk interview? Yeah. Watch that. There wasn't that like that was kind of nothing. There was no I mean, look, I got three hour pulls out of it because I'm really good at what I do. But there wasn't a whole lot to that, you know, he wasn't it didn't go on Shannon Sharp and start the new year off like a cat Williams did when he sat down with Shane Sharp different different setting up. So that was club Shea Shea where it's a little bit more. Hey, let's have a couple drinks, punk doesn't drink. Let's let's have a couple drinks and like just kind of get our feelings out there. This was punk like they're trying to talk about the NFL playoffs and it's like, here's CM Punk. And then it felt very weird to even have punk on the show, but it was clear of like, Hey, we need punk on the show to promote that flex and they're like, all right, sure. But it was the, yeah, it can't burrow saying punk connection issues are making itself. That was certainly a problem as well. But it was also just like the vibe was it was a little was a little off there and just it didn't fit like punk being on that show didn't really seem to fit what their their overall show because it was a sports talk and punks a Blackhawks fan, but they ain't talking hockey on that show. So I'm watching this cold open lots of Hogan, lots of Brett. I know we'll get there. There's there's someone's painting a giant mural. They finally get to like the new the new breed and it's, you know, it's Seth and it's Charlotte and Becky and Bailey. There's a lot of Andre, he's painting a canvas, a literal ring canvas and it's a yellow American beer. No, it has the wrestlers on. It's actually really beautiful. I don't know who painted it and I'm sure that they gave him credit in the actual video, but yeah, they do a lot of WCW nitro, they show you stuff that happened to Madison Square Garden, the WWF days with Sam Martino showed you gorgeous George, they showed you Luller on Letterman. Yeah, it's it's it's a very interesting three minute watch without the audio on, but no Vince zero Vince McMahon, just like the raw video that they did on USA zero Vince McMahon on that one as well, except for like one little shot during the Tyson and Austin interaction, but he was in the middle of the shot, so he couldn't really get him out of there. It's I mean, I thought for a minute that they would do something like that, but I feel like that calls more attention to it. But yeah, there you go. Go take a look at it. It's actually like I said, I watched it just now without any sort of audio, but you know, I'm sure the music does tie it in together with the narration. Triple H narrates it, so oh, so it's going to be very dramatic, going to tell you the story of WWE and in WWE, the story never ends. Yeah, the bumper I do, but I don't need to do it. Do it on Thursday. Do it on the spotlight. Let's let's hit a couple of super chats. WWE from 10ers, I think we'll be having Riyadh and the Hogan beer on the mat. That is mud. Okay. So we're going to get back to Russell Dynasty and all that, but I guess because super chats do kind of show us the way to go and because we brought it up, yeah, this morning, the news was that Hogan's real American beer is going to be a sponsor for WWE, the placements on the mat. I don't know if you have any feelings towards it. I can tell you personally, it doesn't bother me. You watched enough, you know, UFC or you watched enough other companies, the ring mats having logos and designs on them doesn't really do much. And those are just their sponsors. They spend so much stupid money, WWE is not going to turn it away. They're a publicly traded company. They don't care. It's money. Yeah. I mean, that's it, the ring, the ring sponsor, the ring mat sponsors don't bother me at all. It's, I don't notice it that much and if I do, it's not something that affects my enjoyment of anything and, you know, as far as working with Hogan's real American beer and royal rumble potentially or that more or less confirmed for Saudi and Riyadh season and all that, like, they're going to take the money, man. You watch any of these billion dollar corporations, they're going to take the money. So if you, if that hurts your morality of, like, I can't support this, more power to you. Okay. That's, that's your choice. And I'm not going to complain about that, I'm not going to tell you to feel differently about that. Dude, you think that the 2026 row rumble, which you've alluded to and we're bringing it up now, it's headed to Saudi Arabia. That's all the reporting right now. Nothing's 100% confirmed, but it's, it's until we see it. It's there. Um, do you think that's the first two night royal rumble? Maybe. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't feel any wrong. I think it will be. I think that's the one. Um, I, I know that they want it to be a big deal. It's, I'm of two mindsets. One, the rumble has to be the next two night events because SummerSlam is coming up as a, this is the, this coming SummerSlam in July, August, whatever, this coming SummerSlam is going to be the first two night SummerSlam. The one after that has to be the rumble. You could do it with money in the bank. They probably will. But like we, I think we talked about this on Friday, Survivor Series is like the last of the two night events that I would even think is useful in, in, in, in, in, in, in August is a pretty good way to put that. Uh, so I could see the rumble being in Riyadh, two nights, first time. Go from there. Yeah. Yeah, it could be apparently, you know, the, the announcement could come as often as, or as soon as tonight, it's very possible they announce it tonight. So maybe they will feel like it's inevitable, the, the, at least the announcement of the rumble. Well, maybe not. Usually they try to wait until the show of this year has happened until they talk about the next year's show. So it could be in Indianapolis that they make the announcements that they announced Summer Slam though. They've already announced Summer Slam for next year. Summer Slam is a weird one though, because they had to do the make good for the WrestleMania moving to Vegas. Yeah, but that was announced that beforehand. So I don't think they, they really, I don't think they lay it out quite as much as they did before. Cause yeah, before it would a sort of the, they announced it during the event. Now it's like, whenever we can get the announcement out there, let's get the announcement out there. Yeah. And, and about the Hogan and the beer thing. I know there's a lot of jokes going around like, oh, today of all days, I mean, Ross tonight, is the beer is going to be on the canvas. It's, it is a timing thing. It's a good joke, but let's, you know, we'll leave it at a joke and yeah, we'll see, we'll see what this looks like, but there is, there is a really, yeah, like someone in the chat saying the rumble will be on the woman's rum will be 15 minutes then. If they're doing it in Saudi and it's the first year where the women's rumble is the main event, that's a very interesting situation for them. That's why I'm a little like, unless maybe one night is in, ah, this is so stupid. One night's in Saudi and the other night is at like Uniondale, New York. If you know, you know, and it's dumb, but if it's separate nights and they're not doing it on the same day, then I could work, I could easily work, I don't think so either. But you know, if it's the rumble, that's the one where I could see them be like, oh, the men's rumble is going to be, you know, in Riyadh and then the women's rumble will be in New York and it's like, oh, let's do it. I don't know what they're going to do. That's just where I'm at. Someone saying do the women's rumble on Netflix, Rob, you could, I guess, money's all the same. I think it's, I think it's a silly precedent. It should be on par because the women's rumble is supposed to be as important as the men's rumble. I don't know. I don't know where it fits. I think you can do, you can, you can actually get away with a, a two night thing and just do, I would just do the, like an all women show and in that case, do the rumble, make it a men show in, in Saudi on a Saturday and then do an all women show with a rumble on Sunday. You can put it on Raw because then it feels like it loses importance. Then we're Andre, the more memorial battle royaling it and you can't do that. I wouldn't even do a men's and women's nights because it would get, first of all, people would get weird. If like one night is more attended than the other night or one night has better matches than the other night. Like it's just, I wouldn't want to do that. I know they're going to do that, but I don't think they'll do. Yeah. So Ken's pointing out like they won't do a women show outside of Saudi. That'll draw it to the issues. And that's kind of where I was going with it is you couldn't really do it like that. Thank you. Yeah. So maybe, maybe rumble 27 will be the first two nights, but I think they'll do, I think they'll do well financially from it. We know they will. I mean, money for tickets is what I'm saying. I think they'll, they'll have a good attendance and again, when the Saudi fans who show up, they have a good time. They're loud. They're, they're enjoying the show. So I can, I can give them that. Like the fans who show up and have a good time, that's good enough. But obviously there's other factors at play that bring the show there. And that's where people get rightfully frustrated. What's next? Yeah. Let's go. Let's head back to super chats. Tenors are saying, after the couple dome shows, I'm a bit confident in New Japan in 2025, Bucks, Mercedes Monet, Kenny Omega, and Takaesta being a New Japan will be fun. Also, Fed is going to have a Fed, Fed, I'm going to get, yeah. So we'll get to the first part. New Japan 2025, you watch Russell Kingdom, I watch pieces, you watch Russell Dynasty, I watch pieces, saw the, listen, I'm, I'm not going to, I used to. I got to a point where I'm just watching pieces. You know what I watched all of, I watched all of Kenny and gay kid. I watched the entire match top to bottom. I watched the Mercedes match as well because I thought it was very good. Um, there was, there was a lot of really strong stuff. I didn't see the Bucks tag match. I know they won and I'm curious as to what that means for the WGP Tagging Championships. And there was some really strong stuff that happened over the weekend. What, uh, what was your big take from this weekend watching those new Japan ships and the AEW New Japan show? AEW's got a, just go full bore with Kenny Omega and Knowskates Kesha in 2025. You can't tell me where the best wrestle and not have these guys at the top of the card. There's no knock on John Moxley who I think's fantastic. I'm the, this death rider stop, stop is a, it's done. Oh, we'll get there. It's done. But you've never kidnapped legends before that's legends, legends with a D. Sorry. We'll get to that too. That sucked. You've got to go full bore with Kenny and with Tkeshia. Those two dudes are on a different level right now, like Tkeshia had the best, not Omega weekend. I, like my standouts from the weekend were Tkeshia, the, the match against Shingo and the match against Ishii, which it was even better than the match against Shingo. And David Finley, David Finley had a great weekend. The, the Brody King match was great and the, the Yoda Suji match was great. So those, those are the two guys who wrestled both nights who really stood out as far as like singular and I got guys and girls, Mercedes and Mina was very good. And obviously Kenny Omega and, and gave kid was the match of the weekend. That was the most anticipated match of the weekend. That turned out to be the match of the weekend. I was worried. I wasn't necessarily worried. I was unsure of what we were going to see with Kenny Omega. I think everybody was unsure, you're, you're lying to yourself if you were sure. The man had wrestled in a year. He went through a big surgery. He battled a life threatening illness. If you thought we were, I know they're promoting best about machine is back. He's obviously going to talk very confident. There was plenty of reason to be unsure of what kind of Kenny Omega we would see in this match. We saw the absolute best of Kenny Omega, not only like from an in-ring perspective where his performance looked just as good as ever, but as usual when it comes to Kenny, just the story beats he knows how to hit that so many in AEW don't always hit that Kenny's very underrated at. And it's something I mentioned throughout last year, like this AW Mrs. Kenny for a lot of reasons, but he just is good at hitting certain stories in the matches and week to week where it's become a very good week to week television character and they just didn't have in 2024. He was Pete Kenny Omega here. And one thing that I loved about the match on top of just the fact that it was really good. It was so different than everything else from the weekend. It wasn't your traditional new Japan main event style match that goes 40 minutes and maybe sometimes overstays it's welcome. Yeah, I'm talking about the Wrestle Kingdom main event. This was different in it. These two men hated each other and they went out there and they tried to kill each other because of that. It had the blood. It had the chairs. It had the tables and you didn't have matches up and down the car that had that. So it stood out even more than it was already going to stand out just based on the fact that it was Kenny Omega's return against a good opponent like Gabe Kidd in the entire build up. Those are my takeaways. Kenny Omega still really damn good and Tkeshia should be a featured guy in AW this year. So it's really funny. I'm seeing Henry saying did Bryce die. I was watching and I turned my head for five minutes while I was watching on this screen. I turned my head to this screen to do something and then I was like, wait, where is Bryce? First of all, I was like, Oh, Bryce got the assignment. That's really neat. And then I was like, well, that was the problem. I was like, wait a minute. Now he's gone. Where did red shoes come from? And then I guess he got Bryce got taken out when Kenny did the dive out of the ring over onto Kidd and all the the young boys at ringside. That's when Bryce got like officially taken out of the match and then it led to all the outside Tom Folarie with the the power bomb through the table. And then Kenny, I love this. Kenny asking the young boy for the bag of ice for his hip and then just kicking him and being a total asshole. And that's setting off Gabe Kidd. There was some really, really, really good again. The storytelling beats in the match made sense and it got Gabe Kidd over even further because Kenny's Kenny Kenny in Japan is Kenny Omega in Japan. He was fine. He could have he could have had a shit match and it probably would have been okay. But I, you know what I mean, the match could have been like a starless and it still would have been great. My point here is Gabe Kidd had a lot to prove given the person he was up against. And I think both men delivered over delivered and put in the work and put in the story that made this like a top tier match. I really enjoyed it. Some things you wouldn't mind being stuck with like a huge inheritance, but a phone that has to be plugged in just right so it charges is not one of those things. I was a little surprised that Kenny was booed as much as he was. But it makes sense if you think about it. The Japanese fans are very loyal. And Kenny left. He left. He went to AEW and they're just not going to forget that. Gabe Kidd, even though he's a heel to a lot of us in America, is with the way he talks his shit and everything. Like, he's understandable that maybe we don't like him. But the Japanese fans are like, "Yeah, Gabe Kidd came up to the dojo." That's how he was trained. He's here. He's making all the tours. He's doing all the matches. So we do. We do like Gabe Kidd. They work to the crowd, which is, you know, sometimes wrestlers aren't good at that. They're just like, "Oh, we're going to go out and do our match." And they don't adjust to what the crowd is. You mentioned Kenny kicking away like the young lion and everything. Like, that's just a little heel thing of like, "Well, I'm already getting booed. I might as well lean into being booed." And Gabe Kidd firing up off of that. Like, "Yeah, this little disrespectful prick, I don't know, punch him in his stomach." And they adjusted to the crowd. And if the crowd was going to full-on Chiro, Mega, and boo, Gabe Kidd, I'm sure they would have figured it out. I'm sure that was probably their layout and practice anyway. So I'm sure they would have worked to that as well. They did a great job of just following the crowd in this match. It was just overall just an excellent, excellent professional wrestling match. I think New Japan's got to go full-bore with Gabe Kidd this entire year. And doing him and Suji, it looks like for a new beginning in Osaka, I would have that headline, "Wrestle Kingdom" next year, which you can still go back to it. But "Wrestle Kingdom," you know, going into the weekend wasn't the show that I was looking forward to the most out of the two shows. It was "Wrestle Dynasty" because of the Kenny Factor more than anything. And "Wrestle Kingdom" ended up being the lesser of the two shows. It was just kind of, you know, there wasn't a whole lot on paper that made you go, "Yeah, this is going to be a big-time show." We talked about it beforehand of like five years, we might look back at this, and this might be a big show of, "Oh, man, that was a monumental transition show for the company." Or we might look back and be like, "Well, that was a miss," and it was a transitional "Wrestle Kingdom" in a different way because it realized, or made you realize, "And I too ain't got the step anymore." Shout-a ain't got the juice right now. You came away from "Wrestle Kingdom," Suji proved himself. David Finley, I think, really stepped up and proved himself. Tkeshka, they got for a year, apparently he's just going to work everywhere, bless him. And hopefully they do more with him. But nobody came out of this from the new Japan side of like, "Yeah, this is the guy." Like, Zack Sabre is in that spot, and I think he's good in that spot. He didn't have the right opponent. Shout-a, he was in over his head. He was in completely over his head. And they tried to work a 45-minute epic that needed to only be 20 minutes at the most. I don't know if the injury to Doki changed things, because new Japan, they're giving you that four-hour show, they don't give a fuck. Everybody can be injured. They can have injuries up and down the cart, and illness can change the cart. They can have a one-match card, and they're giving you a four-hour show. That match is going four hours. And that's what it felt like here. Doki got injured, so that was probably scheduled to be 15 to 18 minutes. Instead, it was five minutes, like, "Well, we got to find now another 10 to 15 minutes." Here you go, Zach, and Shout-a, go another 10 to 15 minutes, just attack it onto your match. That was a mistake, because that match didn't need to be 44 minutes. Another super chat from Tenerysus, "David Finley was great as well, need this fiddle versus juice in New Japan. TK needs buckets of cold water in the face to wake him up, needs to cook, not reheat." I'll let you talk about the David Finley thing, and then the other thing I want to talk about in regards to TK are the two new belts he's going to be able to play with on American soil with Mercedes Monet. Really one new belt, but we'll get to that. I just want to know an excuse to transition to Mercedes after you talk about David Finley. David, I said it just a few minutes ago, David Finley was one of the stars of the weekend for me, him and Suji coming out of the New Japan side, who wrestled on both shows. As I mentioned, Gabe and Mercedes and Kenny, who only wrestled on wrestling dynasty, but who wrestled on both shows, Finley and Suji were the biggest winners of the weekend for me. I thought David Finley had a great weekend, and I look forward to seeing what he's going to do in 2025. I think his contract is reportedly coming up, and so maybe, maybe he stays, maybe he goes. I don't know if he goes. I think it's a bigger loss for New Japan than people want to really admit. David Finley had a good 2024. He felt like it was a little under the radar because it started off like he beat Moxley in Will Osprey at Wrestle Kingdom last year. But then he had the weird feud with Nick Nemeth that didn't do him any services, and then he held the global title for the year, but New Japan just felt so cold throughout last year that it didn't get the traction that maybe it deserved. And look, he didn't elevate himself to the level that he did this past weekend throughout the year. New Japan just wasn't in the spot for most of the year to really elevate anybody themselves either. But I thought David Finley was one of the biggest winners of the weekend. We'll see what's next for him. If he stays in New Japan, I think he's a guy they can really build around, along with like him and Gabe Kader with Bullet Club War Dogs right now. Can they heat that group back up? You know, Bullet Club's Bullet Club, they're always going to have a spot in New Japan history, but they've been a step down over the past few years with all the everybody leaving, and David Finley kind of being the leader and people not looking at him on the level of white, Omega, AJ and Finn. So can they heat that group back up with Finley, Gabe, Sonata joined the group at the end of last year. Sonata was in the WrestleKing domain event last year, couldn't even get on the show. It's amazing. He's a Rambo. He could get on the main show. So you know, but Finley, yeah, that's a guy they should be putting some equity into. In defense of the Rambo comment, at least this year the Rambo was for a world title shot. Now is it for a world title shot where you think the winner of the Rambo is going to win the world title, not necessarily, but at least you can say, OK, Sonata, former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, he was in it because he wanted to climb back up the mountain. You could use that as the excuse. It's still a pre-show Rambo. I get it. But at least it's not for the Kings of Pro Wrestling provisional title. Godot won that thing and I'm not unconvinced that Godot is going to lose. I think he might win. It's not a knock on Zack Saver because I don't think Zack Saver had a great weekend. A lot of people are praising that Ricochet match. The Ricochet match was fine. It didn't overstay. It's welcome, which I appreciated. The problem with the Ricochet match is it had to follow the Kenny match. And so anything after that felt like a come down. It was much better than the shoulder match. I don't I don't put the the shoulder match fully on Zack Saver. I do put it a little bit on him and that his style is not conducive to a 44 minute match. I like Zack Saver. I'm very high on Zack Saver. I've been high on him for a long time. I don't need a 45 minute Zack Saver match. He his style. It just doesn't work for those long epic kind of matches. And yet show does not the guy to have it with either. If he has it with Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, it's a little bit more palpable. It's a little bit more, it might work a little bit better. Show does not the guy to work away. Though the Ricochet match was good, wasn't bad or anything. It was a good match. But I'm not unconvinced that Godo is gonna is gonna lose. I think Godo might win. Okay. We'll find out soon enough. It's in a few wee months to the month. It's a month. It's a month. Yeah. It's February 11th. Okay. So yeah, just a month and a few days. Okay. New Japan season is always now. And then we go until what destruction in June. That's really like the next big, big show. I feel like there's other stuff, but there's another tournament, certain there's another tournament somewhere. I can't remember all the like my new Japan scheduling is terrible. I know when they pop up, that's all. I know that at the next show, they're probably going to show you the entire year of where they're going and what they're doing. And that's when we'll know what's important. What do we pay attention to? Mercedes Manet, we pay attention to her. She beats me to share a kawa to capture the Rev Pro undisputed British Women's Championship. Two new belts, really one around the waist of Mercedes. She gets come back to the UK to face who knows because literally every single woman in British wrestling had something to say about Mercedes and a match in the UK for that title. And I thought that was hilarious. Because people are like, oh, creative control, deep and I'm like, man, these people are falling over themselves to have this match because she is the person. I thought it was a good match with Mina. I thought that it was, again, a solid decision to have Mercedes capture that title. To me, it felt obvious. I didn't think Mina was going to hand Mercedes her first loss since she joined AW. This was just, it's building to something. I don't know what it is, but I cannot take away from the fact that Mercedes Manet is still that girl. I may not love all of her promos and I've said this before, I may not always love her presentation, but I will never take away from the fact that she is a fantastic wrestler when she's got it going on. And right now she's got it going on. She got those titles. She's going to do some UK stuff. Don't know when. Don't know where. They don't have her hold those titles until like she does a RevPro title defense forbidden or weakened in the summer time. It's possible. I hope not. I think it's more likely that they bring some people over to the US for AW like promoting RevPro title matches. I don't know. Your thoughts on the title, the title victory and of course, where are we going with Monet? Someone saying Ultima Monet in the chat, absolutely. All the bell. She didn't keep winning, which is fine. Like, I thought she was going to win. I didn't think Mina was going to defeat her. She's just going to keep winning these titles until she finally, it feels like the Kenny run, you know, when Kenny won all the titles and then he kind of lost them in almost quick succession. Nah, it wasn't like back to back to back or anything, but he lost the Christian match. That was like August. He lost the hangman match. That was November. It was full gear. They lost the hangman match. So it was, you know, it was a couple of month break in between there, but that's what it feels like. She's going to, she's going to win until she loses a few of them and she probably lose them in relative quick order, not saying like weeks within each other, but I'm saying months within each other. I feel like she's going to lose them all within a six month span. Or she just loses them in triple threat matches and never gets pinned. And it's hilarious that she just doesn't take an L at all, which I think would be awesome. Ultimone. That's good. Yeah. I think that would be hilarious as well. But look, Mercedes from an in-ring perspective, yeah, you mentioned like all the girls in England want to wrestle her because they know she's that good. They know it. She and the ring with her because she has the respect of just about all of her peers of like, yeah, that's who I want to wrestle. That's who I want to face. It's obviously a big opportunity from a marketing perspective because Mercedes is one of the top female wrestlers, you know, outside of WWE. I mean, she might be the top female wrestler outside of the WWE from like a brand perspective. So they know it's like extra attention in that regard as well. But it's also just you're probably going to have a really excellent wrestling match against Mercedes Monet. The issue with Mercedes has never been in ring, never. I've said it many times on the show. She's the best female wrestler in the world. And my knowledge of Japanese wrestling isn't as good as a lot of people. So I apologize if I'm disrespecting one of the, one of the Joshies with that comment. But to me, she's the best female wrestler in the world. That's never been the issue. My issue has always been the presentation in AEW hasn't been great. Just let her go wrestle, stop doing so many of these nonsense promos and share prices. Yeah, she hits her money, changes everything, catchphrase, like stop doing that stuff. Let's go have great wrestling matches. And now that she's doing a little bit more of that and you know, look where she's at. This is the, but this is the, the tough part about a North American wrestling presentation. You have to have the promo. You have to have that. That present, your character presentation, the theater is almost paramount to the matches. It's like the character leads to the matches, not the other way around. And that's not what the American presentation and from Mercedes to when she gets to that point where she has the character with the presentation to get you to the matches, that's what it, that's when it's going to come together. And she's still kind of fleshing out the CEO because it's not Sasha Banks. It's not that it's, it's, there's blue affiliation to the Sasha Banks character, but this is her trying to level up whatever that was. And the growing pains are still there. I hope she figures it out. And I hope that the promos evolve from, you know, CEO to like something more, just something more wrestling and I don't know, I can't explain it, but I know it's something's missing. Our leveling up is just winning all the titles. That's it. She's winning all the titles. It's like, this is what being a CEO is means you friggin win. I feel like they should be working battle in the Valley, given the fact that it's the bucks in California. You're expecting them to work back to back weekends, Joel. I would not expect a young book to match for battle in the Valley. Will they show up, do something, maybe accept the challenge, beat up Haromo, maybe do that. Yeah. The tag team stuff is very weird because private party won. It seemed like it should have been a big deal and it kind of was. They put splitting up on the wine. People seem to forget that because it was the same show that there did like three other important things. You may just tossed on that one. We talked about that. I know it. Yeah. Yeah. They made that announcement. And then they did some big other thing at the end of that show as well. But they, yeah, they put their tag team partnership on the line and they won. It was a good moment. And then the tag team division hasn't done much of anything since again. And your first challengers are two teams who lose all the time. It's tough for me to believe that this is a worthwhile investment. Your first challengers were too, they just like a coat. They did the four way. I know they did the four way and everything where like some teams won. But your first like main challengers were Andre and Leo. And top flight. Again, these guys aren't super inspiring and they, it is what it is. It's a figure something out with that division. I don't know if they will, but that collision. It existed after Garcia and Brisco, if you, if you watch Tony Storm and Deanna, like that was, that was fine. But after Garcia and Brisco just wasn't a whole lot going on. The main event wasn't all that great. That closing. But we got to talk about it, Adam Copeland, co-pins Chris Jericho, the ring of honor world champion has been pinned by coke. We're doing it, baby. So maybe like they were waiting for a sneak attack on Copeland and FTR and the outrunners came in and that they'd use the sneak attack on them. So then when Copeland and FTR came, now they have no sneak attack. So now they got to run away. It sucked. It was not good. Yeah. I always try to logically explain it. Yes, we did. And then hang man and Chris Daniels, I thought that that, I thought that that was an, that was a choice. I liked it. There was aggression. I liked the, that Christopher Daniels, I like pretty snapped. I liked that. It took time. He needed to do it. It didn't take time though. You mean it's been, it's been months, Daniel, on the young bucks, remember when he snapped on the young bucks and like gotten their faces clearly, okay, I'm talking and bloody them up. I'm talking like, what the attack on Daniel on, on hang man was at least much more physical than the verbal altercation that he had with the bucks. Yeah, but I don't need Christopher Daniels looking strong against at the time at your AW tag team champions and your EVPs get the talking down to them. And the young book should have kicked the shit out of Christopher Daniels right then and there. And now hang man pays you to kick the shit out of Christopher Daniels. I assume Daniels and hang man are going to have a match. I assume this is leading to a match. I don't feel like you're doing this unless you're going to lead to a match and hang man is probably going to murder this man. Hopefully he does. Maybe he retires him. Not sure. But I assume he's going to murder him in some sort of perspective. I still would not have Christopher Daniels beat up hang man page in that fashion. Just wouldn't do it. I think they should do a retirement with this. Let hang man just beat the living garbage out of Chris Daniels every time 50 that fucking match. Probably terrible. Well, Billy Gunn won't show up to work anymore because he can't 5050 his way into the merch sales for the acclaim because they get no more sales. They claim they're gone. They're almost broken up. They're going to have Billy Gunn show up and like piece them back together, aren't they? They mentioned Billy, this is the first, I guess, maybe not because sometimes they just mention things and they don't follow up on it. But like you had, you know, Anthony Bones be like, this is the reason that Billy Gunn doesn't come around anymore. And I'm like, I don't know, I mean, it's more like the reason is because he doesn't get the money from the merch sale. But anyway, it doesn't matter. Is this the split of the acclaim? Do you think they're going to put them back together just because? Billing is going to show up on Raw tonight. Is that what he's going to do? I assume they're splitting. I hope they don't do this thing of like, oh, they both turn on Billy Gunn and now we just get like heel acclaim. I think that would be stupid. I'd split them. And I think castor, I think he's found himself as this like, maybe it was easy to find himself. But he's found himself as this like douchebag annoying heel. He's doing a great job at it. And I think he can be serviceable and in that regard. This is funny because if you watch the episode of Dynamite where Billy Gunn and Jay White had a match, I did the post show review with Alex Pulaski that night. I was not very kind to that match. So I love it. Billy Gunn's singles plus. Billy Gunn should be in the singles picture. Anyway. Cyclops better than Wolverine saying, who's booking his craft TK and Mox? I need to know. It seemed like there was a real purpose to it. Now I don't know what the purpose is. I have no idea what, like, what is John Moxley's mission? Do you know? No, because I've said this before on our show. Did they have A to Z or did they have A to C and then week by week had to plan the rest of it. I feel like they had a plan A, but I don't know how much more planning they had beyond that. I don't feel like you could just fully hotshot the title off of Moxley. If your end goal was Darby Allen, stick with it. But if your end goal is Christian, is Darby Allen and then Christian Cash is in, cut that shit out. Just cut it. This is what I was trying to say. They had A and Z, they did not have A to Z. They had a, they had a start point and an end point, but they never worked through the rest of it. That's the way it's come off to me because every time you have a promo from Moxley, it's just a circular talky talk. And even like this, this week on collision, I was like, you to cuts the promo says, Jay Wade, I'm going to kick your ass and I'm going to take you and then all of a sudden Moxley is like, no, no, get out of the way. Let me tell you why. And then he just goes around in circles and I'm like, you to cut the better promo here because there was actual like, there was a point to it. Moxley's wasn't very good. This was hilarious. Ken Bruno saying one of the best instances of unintentional comedy was Jared asking everyone on commentary worlds and what's going on with the Moxley announcers fumbling to come up with a response. That was hilarious. Honestly. Exhale over is like, well, well, Jim, you know, he doesn't like what AEW is represented. And he just talks in circles. So funny. It's, I don't know what their in goal is. If it's Darby and then Christian cash it in, cut that and it now, but Kenny coming back, you can still salvage it to an extent. The damage is done, but you can sav salvage it to an extent. If Kenny comes back and it's like, dude, you come out here and you put the title in the briefcase. Someone made this point on blue sky. It was really good point. That's such a good looking title. Like, I really like the design of the AEW title and they have not shown that thing for months because it's in a briefcase. So they gave me meds and I'm on the mend. I feel better. I'm still coughing, obviously, because I talk for a living so my airways are still in use. But yeah, I got that walking pneumonia that's going around. It's a lot of fun. Let me tell you. Huh. Feeling okay. So your support and love is always the one I mean. Tiffany Stratton-Kashton, she's the new champion, the new SmackDown Women's Champion, the new Undisputed Women's Champion. Yeah, this was a good moment. A lot of people felt a lot of ways about it, in which I mean it was a little combo looted. It was a little, some people were using the term overbooked, "Thank you." But that's not, in my opinion, what it was. And now, there was a lot of talk about, is she a babyface? Is she a heel? Is she a shades of gray champion? What is Tiffany Stratton moving forward? And I thought the moment was great, like you said, obviously people love seeing a title change, especially when it's cash in, it's unexpected. But this was a moment. A lot of people were excited about it. What do you think? Where do you think this is going? I think she's still a heel. I know I've got a huge babyface reaction, but I think she's still going to play it as a heel. They're probably going to have to do a rematch with Nia Jax, which is going to kind of make her a babyface, and you've got to be a little bit careful about that. They're probably going to do a match with Bianca, because Bianca can have a little bit of claim of like, you don't win that unless I hit the KOD and then you cash in. That's obviously going to make Tiffany a heel. Tiffany is the like attacker on Jade Carbale, as would also really heal her up. Oh, they could go about this a few ways, but it feels like she's going to be a heel. It was a good moment. You know, people were mad about, they always get mad about, oh, if she's held the title for too long, or the briefcase for too long, when she's going to cash in and I kept saying of, I don't mind that she holds it so long, I don't like all the fake cash ins that they keep doing. They did it here again, but actually made like the way they did it made a lot of sense of like, oh, they should have fake cash in, but then helped Nia. And then so Nia now has way more sense of security of like, ah, she helped me. Everything's good. So like her turning in that moment made a lot of sense. I think they'll be okay. However, they sort of play it, but they, they don't need to go. I wouldn't turn her fully fully babyface. I think she's a heel and I think they'll continue to play as a heel. Yeah, they have a, they have a bit of a delicate rope to walk because of the things you said. Nia is going to come after Tiffy, of course. It was her title. She got a vent. She basically got beat up. The whole, sorry, the whole story leading up to Tiffany cashing in was, of course, that Nia was berating her, belittling her, making her less than and Tiffany was just kind of going with it. So either this is her deciding that she's outsmarting Nia by doing what she did. And now they're going to start a babyface turn for Tiffany or she's going to just be more diabolical than Nia at that point. You kind of have to be careful is how do you, like, how do you deal with that relationship because they're both so good being bad guys. Tiffany Stratton is not a very good, good guy, good girl, I gotta go to her. None of good babyface and Nia Jax is definitely not a good babyface. So how do you make this work? Do you just separate them? Put one on one brand, one on the other and there's still heels. That's kind of the other way you can do it. Nia goes over to Ron, in this case, because the title's on Tiffany, I don't think you want to start having another title trade off like they did once upon a time. Instead, you would stick to one and the champions on the brand. I'm curious. I'm just curious about where they go and I didn't think that the title change was convoluted. I think it kind of told multiple stories at once because of the way Tiffany had been treated and the fact that she's still a bad guy and she's still going to do bad guy things to get her way, she just had to, she waited that extra minute, made sure everybody else was taken out of the match so that she could do what she needed to do because that was also every single attempted cash in what would happen. Someone would stop her because that one person who was still healthy would take her out. They would stop her. So this time she waited. She even waited until Bianca hit the KOD on Nia so that she could take out Bianca and send her over the table. She wanted to make sure that everyone involved was out of the match, everyone who was at ringside and she did that and then she took advantage of one. In a way, yes. She wasn't always stopped by somebody who was sometimes like, Nia, just gave her a look and she's like, what are you doing? Okay. Yeah. A couple of times it was that. Yes. But my point. Okay. And hold on, hold on. And with this cash in she hit Nia with the briefcase. She hit her with the briefcase and then Bianca did the KOD so she'd already turned on Nia at this point. Right. But the point was that Bianca didn't see the hits with the briefcase. She was retaliating on something that Nia had done to her. Right. But you're saying like, oh, she waited until like every, you know, she took out Bianca and everything. But she'd already made her decision to turn and likely cash in before Bianca did anything in that regard. It was nice circumstance that Bianca did all of that for her and then yeah, then she took out Bianca, but she'd already made her decision before Bianca did any of that. Yeah. She wasn't working with Bianca, but I think she took advantage of the situation. And once she saw that the person that she needed to get out of the way got the other person, Nia Jax, out of the way, she took advantage of that, removed the problem and got the win. I think that there was, again, there was some circumstance or some help, some, some circumstances a good word. But I think there was a plan, quote, unquote, in Tiffany's head as to how this would play out so that everyone who needed to be out of her way were out of her way, including the referee at the beginning, like she brought the referee down and then ditched them just to do whatever started the chain of events that led to her winning. It was just a lot of, a lot of waiting to do it. And at least they paid it off in a way that was, it made more sense than it didn't and it didn't feel like again, because you and I sat here for weeks talking about how they got to stop doing it every week, they got to stop, you know, waiting and they're not doing it. They got to make it strong, but this was the time to do it. And even when she was coming out, I was like, Oh, Christ, not again. And then she won. And I was like, Oh, Christ, thank God we did it. And so it was, I thought it was good. I turned off SmackDown after that because that was the end of SmackDown, right? Something else happened. Show was over two hours tight. Good. Yeah, that felt every bit of a three hour show. It felt it was like nine o'clock and I'm like, Hmm, there's two more hours of this. I don't know about that. Yeah, I got to the clock. I got to the 10 o'clock crossover when, when Tiffany won and I was like, great, wonderful episode of SmackDown, the solo in Heyman promo. That was fine. That was good. Even the opening one with Cody and, and Drew and the takedown from KO, I was like, wait, that was okay too. But what do you think? Heyman is now property. You will be the property of the winner of tonight's travel combat match. What do you think of the promo with solo and Heyman? No, it was good. I mean, Roman's going to win so. But what if he doesn't get the rock call costing him? What if there's a world where Heyman is effectively captured, stolen by solosicoa in this match? Not in this match. But like by virtue of solo winning the match, he gets a reluctant Paul Heyman. Well, I guess that would happen if solo wins, but a solo wins. He gets Paul Heyman. I think they feel they can use solo sicoa in certain regards. I don't see him as worthy of beating Roman Reigns. So Henry saying didn't solo already have him and he did, but this was before the. This would be a new chapter because again, they love stretching this shit out. that's going to kind of shape some of the stories going into WrestleMania the rumble should at least tell one story that gets people to a mania match that's that's how I've always thought of the rumble beyond who wins there should always be at least one major story coming out of the rumble that gets to a match or that stimulates a match to mania don't know who that is this year John Cena again Cena is either winning the rumble or winning elimination chamber but you think that maybe the John Cena match is triggered at elimination chamber if he wins the rumble or like how does what Cena
