But a better night of some new Japan pro wrestling, some AWCML, stardom and ring of honor. I am joined by Lyric and SP3. We are talking Wrestle Dynasty. I want to say thank you for tuning in on this early morning or late morning or late night wherever you may be. Man, as I was telling SP3 just a minute ago, this felt like Wrestle Kingdom. Yeah, we'll start kind of like how we did last night. SP3, what do you think overall of this show? This was a big improvement on last night. Like I said last night when you asked me the same question, I was like the show peaked at Suzuki and Finley on January 4th. And I will say I do feel like the show did peak before the main event again here, but at least it was on the semi main event. And the main event that we did get was not 20 minutes longer than it needed to be. It was the perfect amount of time. They had a sense of urgency. We got ricochet making history here. You got Zach making history back-to-back nights. This is the feeling that I like to have after a new Japan event. Plus, plus for us on like the East Coast or Central Coast and Pacific Coast, it started at a reasonable time. 11 p.m. from me over here on the East Coast. I have friends that will start at 8 p.m. He's my friend in the West Coast chase Oliver over on Trio E. He was like, oh, I feel good. I feel like one of y'all, I'm watching wrestling at 8 p.m. This is nice. This is cool. So just the timing of it, the vibes of the show, all the great matches, and one of the greatest Tokyo dome matches of all time. This is like the benchmark for show of the year for 2025. Absolutely. Oh, sorry. Yeah, go ahead. No, yeah, you can go ahead. No, I was just going to say it only took five days. You know, I don't know. I just feel like so giddy of this is how WrestleMania used to make me feel as a kid. Like, I think of just the pageantry of it all. And it's been rare moments in adulthood where I think I felt it. Like, I think I felt it all in this year. And I think I felt it like, you know, in other spots. But this, this feels like nobody will ever make me feel like Kenny Omega. There will never be somebody. He made Tana Hashi cry. I said, he looked just like me. I said, he just like me. It was just so special, just like the little moments. You know, you got Shabbata and Tana Hashi. Like, Mercedes four belts, Brody King and David Finley. Like, it was just, you know, I can't really say there was nothing bad on this cart. You know, like, there was actually nothing bad. You know, some things, you know, weren't like amazing, great superstar, amazing. But nothing was bad. This was, this is show of the year potential, for sure. Yeah, it was, it was good. And guys put it, put it in those super chats or humper chats. If you want to get your question or statement read on the show, but we're going to get started. We're going to start with the pre-show. This, uh, I'll let you, I'll let you take over SP three. So yeah, the, the pre-show we kicked off with, uh, Athena versus Willow Nightingale versus Momo Watanabe versus Persephone for the International Woman's Cup. And this was once again, like what we said on the first night with Russell Kingdom, with Mai Yiwatani versus Azumi. These ladies went out there and they wasted no time. They maximize all the minutes that they got. They went full speed ahead, loved, uh, Athena's kind of character work throughout the matchup and her just, uh, playing up her cockiness and feeling like she had the match. One at different points of the, of the matchup, Willow Nightingale showing off her power. Persephone was the one that was like the least familiar with. So I, I did like what I saw from her, the, the high fly and the Lucha Libre influence from being over in CMLL. In the end, uh, it was Tekla, who was the tag team partner of, uh, Athena over on Stardom's One Night Dream on January 3rd. Uh, she costs Athena the matchup here. Athena has the match one with the O phase, but Tekla, uh, pulls the referee out of the, out of the ring. Momo Watanabe grabs the bat, hits her over the head with it. Clean hit right across the head with it. Then she hits the peach sunrise for the one, two, three. I thought this was a really good way to open up the show and, uh, yeah. And this was a, a good start. If you're going to do this International Women's Cup year after year, this was a good start for it because we got a surprise result. That was the most thing that I got of this. I did not, I didn't hear anyone predicting Momo Watanabe was going to win this match. A lot of the predictions were either for Athena or for Willow Nightingale, Momo Watanabe getting the win and being the first woman to, uh, pin Athena in two years, then she became the ring of honor women's world champion. That's a statement right there. And then, and then they also announced that Athena will be facing, uh, Tekla, I believe, uh, next, uh, next weekend. So yeah, Athena, her world tour, she was serious about it. She's sticking in Japan for a couple of more weeks now. And, uh, this was a good way to kick off the show. Lyric, what did you think? Yeah, I just, I was just so proud. I think just watching, you know, everybody, I think some people are really upset. This is on the pre-show. While I was, while I would have obviously preferred this on the main card, people do have to understand like compared to like the other matches. People are unfamiliar with most of these women. Like they, there's like no frame of reference. And honestly, they haven't done the best job of promoting like who these women are. So I, you know, I kind of understand, but the crowd got into it, which I think was really great. Um, even though like I, I also expected, um, Athena or Willow to win, but I was very, actually really happy that Momo won, uh, Momo Watanabe continues to be one of the best, I think, forerestors in the world. But specifically the best and the stardom. And I don't think that she's been used to her full potential. But in 2024, as she's continued to branch out and like wrestle like a point of, opponents outside of stardom, not even just from ADW, but even like her work in Sendai girls, she's been amazing. She's had several classics. So she's always had it in her. Um, so I'm excited to see her actually win something. Cause she's typically wins. And I think also, I don't think Athena loses anything here. Clearly it's setting up a story, a long-term program, you know, with Tekla. And it's very clear that Japan is where she belongs. Like she just, it's so many, it's crazy to think like this is her first tour, you know, like her first trip down there. She just melds with the style. I think Persephone looked great. Willow looked like an absolute powerhouse. I don't think this is the last time we definitely not the last time that we see her, um, in Japan. But I was just really pleased and really proud of all the women involved. And I love the fact that they use a big boy trophy. I think that's something that that's one of my biggest complaints about the continental classic, especially about like trying to compare it to like other round robin tournaments. So I'm going to run with the belt is cool. I'm not saying they got to get rid of it. But round robins are big tournaments. They need big boy trophies. And so I love that they had the big trophy there. And I think that's one thing that, you know, new Japan always gets right. The pageantry of professional wrestling is the little things. And so I really love that. And that's a great shout because why does the Owen Hart Cup winner get a title and a trophy? But the continental classic winner just gets a title. Exactly. And you're telling us this is the greatest tournament and but it's not even the greatest tournament in your company based on the prizes. And keep it on the CC finals on pay-per-view like the only tournament on TV. Yeah. And so it's just like what don't get me wrong. I'm not against like new Japan Cup gets a trophy too. I'm just saying that, you know, the pageantry to a company that great matches, it can't just be great matches has to feel like a big deal. And like, you know, from the press conference to everything. And so like I just loved that they did this. And it was a good way to get these women on the card and they didn't play. They utilized every second of their time. I'm a fan. I enjoyed this one. Rob, what about you? I enjoyed this match. I'm a willow guy. So I was hoping Willow would get the win. And I was the last person I thought would take the pin in this was Athena. And the fact that she got hit with the baseball bat in the Tokyo Dome is doesn't go past me because I've watched a lot of baseball like during like the pandemic. Like Japanese baseball that took place in the Tokyo Dome. So it just kind of it brought back a memory for me. But I never saw anybody get hit with a bat. So that's a good thing. But I enjoyed the match. I thought it was good. And I want to see where they go with Athena, you know, like now like I'm very curious to see how she I mean, we know she's still the ring of honor champion. But I was expecting her to win. I really was. So the fact that she didn't surprise me, but Momo is that's a great choice. Build her up even more. Also think that they're going to have a match down the line at some I can even see that happen at Forbidden Door or something like that, you know, especially since, you know, Momo wrestled Mercedes. So I don't think it's a far fetch that, you know, she's going to get like some real big singles matches. How she was on the Forbidden Door pre-show teaming up with like, you know, was so I think that this is all setting things up. That's the thing Athena's never been to Japan. So she's setting up rivalries and stuff. And so I think she's this is going to be all work in the longer. I think I think what I think what happens is Momo takes the title shot that she got for the International Women's Cup and she faces Athena in Las Vegas, Mania Weekend for a Supercard of Honor. That's good. Is that during Mania Weekend? Yeah. Supercard of Honor is always Mania Weekend. Oh, sorry. Because they announced and they announced on this show that Stardom has the show in Las Vegas that week. Yeah, like I forgot about the date change. That's why I was, um, I was confused because I'm not used to WrestleMania being in May. So yes, that's why I was Easter. Oh, wait, hold on. You know what? They might move Supercard of Honor though because like you got to think that'll be Supercard of Honor and like death before it is honor going to be super close together. But also too, I think the whole schedule is really mixed up now that they've like, they moved all in and they moved from Ben and Dore. And so maybe we don't, I'm not sure. Maybe we don't know like when they're going to do it. Um, just because it is a long time for her to keep holding the title. Like now it's in April. It's in like the middle of it. It's just a couple of weeks from where Mania, no, no, it's just a couple of weeks. So it's usually Mania is like the beginning of May. I mean, beginning of April, but this now it's like the middle of April. So it's just a couple of weeks. I thought they changed it to May this year. It's, uh, I thought it was April, I think it's April 20th. Well, that's what it, at least it said on the Stardom for the, uh, the American dream event. It said mid, uh, April, April 19th. Sorry. Yeah. April 19th and 20. I, I only knew that, um, I only, I only knew that, um, because my friends out there, to eight, uh, you know, April 20th is a special day. So, you know, I remember, I remember that's what happened. That's when WrestleMania is going to be this year. Oh, okay. And it's in Vegas. So have a good time guys. What happens on that day? Anyway, we've got some super chats. Look, read those. Our friend, Justin Cardo says, did Kenny put on the match of the year on the fourth, the fifth day of the year? Yes. The answer is yes. Oh, man. We should all say thank you. Yes. Yeah. Well, man, just seeing him back like was just, it was, it was good. It was, it just, it's like, hell yes. Thank you, Kenny. Thank you for coming back. We missed you. You know, nobody would love to do it like the go. I, I'm prepared today. I just, man. Alexandra Fitzgerald says Mercedes is the belt collector now. And I just need her to win the ring of honor of women's title and the AEW women's title, and then retire as the goat with all the belts. I need her to win the CMLL title. And then, because I think there's only what for women who have ever held major titles in Japan, Mexico, and the US. So like, Willow is now one of them. And so I need her to hold that CMLL title. Because then she can fully claim world domination once she gets that one. And I'm sure she wants it too, just based off like her appearance in CMLL and the Eddie Guerrero connection. But I just think she just needs that one belt. And then she, then she's truly like has conquered the world. She still hasn't wrestled in Mexico yet. So I expect that to happen this year. And I just need her to win the AEW women's world championship. So we can get this, this whole woman's division better aligned. Because I'm sorry. I'm sick of the DPS champion being more prioritized than the woman's champion. It's just, it's just weird for me in my brain. Since AEW started, it kind of feels like, well, ever since the TBS championship, like really started, it's always kind of been like that of just even when, even when Thunder Rosa was champion. It was Jade that was on TV all the time. That was the best future. Like even before that. I think it, I think it changed though, like in the fall of 2022. Because when they put, when they put Jade on the treadmill of, you're just going to do challenger of the month. Then the women's title became the priority again. And so it's, I will say you are right. Like the initial first couple of like six months of the TBS title, they did feature Jade more than the woman's champion. But I felt like towards the end of that year, they changed it back to being the, the women's champion. But I don't see any change in sight as long as Mercedes is TBS. Well, okay. I think I need to rephrase that. I think that the TBS title has now become the wrestling bill. And I think that the world title is the story bill. And maybe that makes sense in the context of things of, of course, like it's supposed, it's a TV title. It's supposed to be a work course bill. But when you look at the greatest matches, women's matches in AEW history, most of them are TBS title matches at this point. Yeah, that is true. I got another super check here from our friend Dilo Diggs. How you doing my friend? He says, I felt like Adam Pierce. I need to drink man. Also, I didn't know the women's match was two votes versus two votes. Two votes. Yeah, so the, you can, the ref approach undisputed British women's championship is actually a unified title. And so that, that's why it's two belts. It's one championship, but it's two belts. Kind of like, remember when Kenny won the impact championship and he had the TNA heavyweight bill and he had the impact bill, but it's just considered one championship. Same concept. Yeah. Just Ricardo sends us another one. Thank you, sir. He says, kitty makes me feel like seven again. Oh my God. Oh my God. Make me feel like a kid again. Yes, yes, yes. He brings back the old kind of wrestling joy, the old wrestling high that we used to get on like a Saturday morning watching the WWF or WCW on a Saturday evening. That type of feeling, Kenny Omega brings that for New Japan. You know what, I would be honest, I'll take it further. I grew up watching WWE. And I think that like, I really wasn't for all bike, but now like Kenny's different. I never like, I think, I don't know if I ever felt like this is a kid of just like, as an adult, it's just, it really brings tears to us. I said this on the pre-show earlier today that I was doing, but Kenny Omega is the Andrea Bocelli of professional wrestling. That type of opera music that just makes you just sit there and silently just cry because it's so beautiful. That's it. That's it. I don't know. I couldn't pay the better myself. I remember watching action, so when Bret Hart would come on, that like, I couldn't do anything like Bret Hart was on my TV. I did not do anything in my house. Like it was just, I have to watch this four minute match that Vince gives me and that's it. So, but I was a Bret Hart guy, still am. But that's like the way people feel about Kenny Omega, that's how I filled up a Bret Hart, like back when I was younger. And today, like just seeing him, like, it's one of those things where you forget what you have and then you get reminded by it because tonight was just awesome. Yeah, definitely, definitely agree with the other there. Uh, finish up with the pre-show real quick before we get into the main card, Ring of Honor, a World Tag team titles, The Sons of Texas, Dustin Rose and Sammy Kavara defending against the House of-- I can't believe there was an actual match where I like House of Torture more than the other team. But this was it. House of Torture, Yoshinoff, Okada Waru, and Show. But I thought this match was a lot better than it had any right to be. They kept it kind of fast moving, Dustin taking the heat, they're making a hot tag to Sammy. The Ham and Sammy are kind of getting their chemistry together, working well together, especially when they're on the comeback. And that had like the fun section of the match up, especially after some cheating from House of Torture. Got some heat from the fans. They got the pop when Sammy and Dustin got rolling, hit a destroyer, hit the final reckoning, and then a centon on Tomoko from Sammy for the pin on Yoshinoff, Okonomaro by Dustin. They retained the tag team titles, unfortunately for me because I watch Ring of Honor every week. Lyric, what did you think about this tag team title match? I'll be honest, I genuinely don't know what happened. I wasn't paying attention. Listen, man, there was a lot going on. I'd already been like, I was like three shots of Hennessy end by that time. Like it took everything, listen man, this bottle was brand new. And we took, we took, could welcome back Kenny shots. And by this time, and I tried so hard, I kept it together during the Women's Four Wave. But I was like, oh my god, this is whooping my behind. And so I can't tell you. And I didn't really lock back in until the first match went away. She's like, I needed that 30 minute break that they did. I was about to lie and make something up. I don't know. I genuinely don't know. I hope it was good. I don't know. See, this is why I need to follow Lyric. So pour her because she keeps it real. She could have lied. And if we would all believe to be like, it's sons of Texas versus House of Torture. You can lie. You can be lying. I was about to lie and go on my normal House of Torture, but you know, I'm be honest, I genuinely don't know. I don't know what happened. I don't, I can't tell you. Um, can't call it. Um, but I hope it was good. I hope it was good for everybody watching. And the best thing I could say, it was better than it had any right to be. Hey, you know, we'll take it. Well, we will take it. Uh, uh, what did you think about the tag title match? Man, you know, like you said, you know, you got House of Torture and you got Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. I was just happy to see Dustin Russell and the Tokyo Dome again, because I was going through some of my old, like, I had my tape list when I used to tape trade and I had, so I know, I don't remember the match, but I remember knowing like that I've seen it because it was, New Japan, fantastic, uh, story in the Tokyo Dome last time that he wrestled there and his tag team partner was Scott Norton and I specifically remember him teaming with Scott Norton in Japan. So it was cool to just hear them talk about that. And it was the fact that it was, uh, 32 years and one day, I believe they said since he's, since he's wrestled there. So that was pretty cool. But overall, the match was just, I, I enjoyed it. It was good. I think I, I think it just goes back to me, like, liking the people that I did when I was younger and Dustin Rhodes has always been one of those guys that I've, uh, followed and I have a lot in common with him, like, for like personal reasons. So it's just one of those things where I just, I enjoy him. So getting to see him on this show, seeing him get to wrestle in front of so many people, it was good, you know? Like, I honestly didn't know if, uh, we would see, like, other than all in, if we'd see Dustin, like, get to do a stadium show that much. So it was good to see that. So, I mean, I know he's done all in, but just doing a Tokyo dome show was pretty cool. But overall, the match was good. I was actually, I was going to say I was really, I really enjoyed his appearance at the press conference and talking about his history, you know, in Japan and his family's history and Japan. And so, like, it is really cool that like, he got that opportunity. So yeah, I did see the entrance though. I did see the entrance. It was really nice. I wish I could share our joy for Dustin Rhodes, but I have to watch Ring of Honor every week where the sons of Texas have had all the titles for all since the summer, since the summer. Isn't one of the Vamirics. Injured exactly, exactly. No, no, he doesn't do any single stuff. Hey, they just hold it all in these titles hostage. It's all Dustin. Oh, man. They let the 50-some-year-old do all the work. That's crazy. Yo, they're booking Dustin, like, he's Kenny Omega for Ring of Honor. He has all the titles. I'm gonna be sick. Please, let's keep going. Yeah. Well, before we do that, we got one last super chat here from Tony Pease. I said on Denise, Reg, and Phil's watch along. Denise Selsato's watch along that this show is better than the first Forbidden Door. All right. All right. I agree. That's why I agree. The first Forbidden Door is my favorite pay-per-view of all time. I don't think that I'm not sure I'd go that far. I think it's on par, though. I will say, I do think it has better matches. Don't get me wrong. I think it just has the Kenny Omega match and that just makes it better. Yeah, that matches better than I do. It does, but I do think the overall vibe of that first Forbidden Door, like, bro, staying twisted in EOPs and nipples, come on, man. You can't even Shabbata coming out. I mean, we got Shabbata here, too, in an amazing moment of just... And I think that was one of the last times where I think an inter-promotional event had equal buy-in from both sets of fans. Like, I generally felt like at that point, AEW fans genuinely wanted to see what New Japan had going on and vice versa. And I think that the fan bases have significantly gone their own way in the years since. And that was very evident, you know, Forbidden Door this past year. So I don't know, but I would put it on par, though. It is certainly on par, but better... Hey, debate. We had on the main card, the opening match-up was the Lucha Gauntlet match, which was the eight participants. He had four from CMLL, four from New Japan for wrestling. The first entrant was Hecha Sero. And he was joined by Kosei Fujita. Then you had Suburano Jr. came out next. Then it was Master Watou. Then you get, I believe, Teton was after Master Watou. Then you had Mascarira Darada. You had Taiji Ishimori. And then finally, the final entrant was El Desperado, which got a good pop from the crowd. And I love how the story of the match-up, you know, everybody was just coming in, kind of doing what you usually do in a casino gauntlet, coming in, getting your shit in, doing the big spots for the high-flying guys like the Lucha guys. And I like the fact that the guys from New Japan that they chose all have some background in Lucha Libre, or have been to Mexico. That was cool in that fact with all the people from New Japan that they chose here. But I like how the match-up story changed when El Desperado came out. And he just became public enemy number one. - They jumped him. - They jumped him. They jumped. I was like the same right. Just because he's more popular than y'all. - I think those are two heads of Sarah I'm talking about. Like, you know, like, he wants the belt. That's a junior belt. Have you seen yourself? - You are not a junior, sir. - It feels like she can go back, like, in what, like, what? 2019 of just like, you are not a junior. They're not going to continue to lie to me and try to tell me that you are. You are not. - Hetchissero, not even a tank. Hetchissero is the size of Pedro Martinez. Like, he's not, he is not, he is not no junior heavyweight, like, at all. - And not at all. He talked about some, yeah. I'm like, have you seen you? - Oh, but yeah, this was a lot of fun. And I like the, you know, the story of the match up became them beating up Elle Desperado. And then everyone trying to pin Elle Desperado towards the end of this match up. And it was Taiji Ishimori with a gato clutch who picks up the victory, pinning the IWGP junior heavyweight champion. There wasn't anything on the line here, but I would assume Ishimori pinning Elle Desperado leads us to our first challenger for Despi in his latest reign as junior champion. So, Lyric, what did you think? - Didn't I just say yesterday that the thing that I liked the most about the Doki Desperado matchup is that it wasn't the same match ups that we get over and over again from the junior division? Okay, that's all I got to really say. The Lushikon, that was fun. - Yeah, it was a fun match. And what I, what I enjoyed was that it, it was a good opening, like, start match for the, like, the crowd, they got into it and it was just a fun match. And I, I liked it. I, nothing, like, stood out for me, like, that makes me like, I got to go back and watch it. But I mean, for what it was, it was, it was fine. It was entertaining. And yeah, I thought the right guy won too. So there you go. - Lucha is the best tried and true opener for just about every show. Like, you can't go wrong with it. I've never really seen it fail of, you know, opening up a show, particularly a big show with, like, a Lucha match, you know, like, you really can't go wrong with that. - Yeah, so, yeah, I totally agree with that. But first, before we go on to our next one, we have our message from NordVPN. - There is no product that we have promoted more on Fightful that I use while I'm awake, the NordVPN.com/Fightful. You guys have probably seen me anchored to my desk an awful lot for quite a while. And I've always got NordVPN on all my devices. That's because that's what NordVPN.com/Fightful allows. Protect yourself on all your devices with NordVPN.com/Fightful. Thank you for that NordVPN. And, man, that was fun, you know, that match. I was just thinking about it again. And you're right, Lyric. Starting a show with like a luchador match is like always probably a good idea. Like, I mean, to an extent because it gets a crowd going and they put on they're always entertaining matches. So I would definitely agree with what you said there. But yeah, we can move on to our next match here. You had the grappling match. Yes, I was anxious for this. I was ready for this. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shabbata. What'd you guys think of this SP3? I'll let you go first because I know you're a big Shabbata guy. Oh, man, this was this one. I was looking forward to this, but I was just like a minute into the matchup. I was like, so we just threw out the rules. We just threw out the rules. I was like, this doesn't even need to be five minutes. You can just keep going. Yeah, if you're already threw out the rules, this supposed to be all grappling. And like a minute in, they just said, you know what? Chop, chop, chop. And then it just became this chop off and Shabbata. Shabbata might have one of the most underrated hard chops in the business today because like within like three to four chops. Yo, yo, Tanahashi's chest was as red as the red on the Japanese flag. Like it was, oh my God. I was like, he's going to start bleeding from the chest. This is not what they intended for y'all to do for a five minute gravelly bet. But that is why you, Hiroshi, Tanahashi, and Cassisserie Shabbata. This is exactly what they should have done. They did it. They delivered. It rocked. The only issue I had is that it was only five. Yeah, man. I think it just, it was, it was one of those things that really kind of like brings back those child like qualities of just feeling like and wonder of it was kind of like, if y'all don't say nothing, I will say nothing like they please keep chopping. I'm glad they didn't try to grapple because I'm going to be honest. I would have been sitting my stomach watching Tanah grapple in 2025. There's nothing, I mean, you know, but that was amazing. And I think just seeing what it meant to Shabbata, I think was really cool. Seeing him emotional. See, you know, he's simply not like that. I think it also left me one of her more. I think there's very few matches, singles matches that I genuinely want to see Tanahashi in these days, but that is one. And I think that that is one, you know, he's still capable of a good match with the right dance partner. And I think like Shabbat is that. So I hope that New Japan and AEW are putting their heads together of a way for like us to get something serious, like an actual, you know, real match. But the moment alone, like it was one of those things where they could have stopped the show right then and I think I probably would have been happy. Yeah, 100 percent. Yeah, overall, I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty cool just to see that reaction that he got yesterday. And then today that was worth it, you know, just seeing seeing that. I mean, that's a great thing about the sport that we love is when you get the emotions out of it. Maybe Tanahashi was like tearing up at the end of like the Omega match was because he just realized how much he was hurting from those like shots. Maybe it was that. Maybe it was just like take a while to sting. Yeah, he's like, damn, that hurt. So next you had the third match. It was for the NJPW strong women's championship and Rev Fro undisputed British women's championship Mercedes Monet versus Mina Sherikawa and just like, come on, like, can we talk about these two ladies star power and their entrances like the from the minute go. It's like, yeah, this is stadium show entrance. You got Mina Sherikawa who just screams charisma and just has personality pouring out of her when she ever she walks to the ring and especially she just looks like an absolute star when she's holding on to the two belts and then Mercedes Monet with the with the with the outfit with the entrance gear with the with the ring gear when she took off the outfit for the for the entrance and she I saw the ring gear. I gave her one of these and lyric note with this mean like, oh, I was like, oh, I was like Mercedes. I was, you know what? I had an audible moment where I was just like, Mercedes Venado. I got her full government name. I said, oh my God. I know your haters are rolling around in their filth right now. And if I, but it wasn't such a fan of you, I think I will hate you too. Because, oh my God, it gave wealth, it gave money, it gave y'all our poor, it gave y'all our untalented, it gave y'all our never be me. You will never be the golds. And I just want to everybody to know, and this just goes first and Mercedes goes for all of my goats, we done being humble in 2025. We done being humble. We hurting people. We collecting belts. We main eventing shows and we making the haters cry. They're going to cry. We done. We done being humble. I'm tired of her being humble. Say you to go. They don't talk about you anyway. Cook. You know what I mean? Amazing. Mina willed herself into this spot. Anybody who watched the startup knows, if you asked them two years ago, if you're sending anybody to the dome, Mina Shirakawa would have been at the bottom of the list. At the very, she went from being the worst wrestler in stardom. Steve was the worst. Mina Shirakawa's first entrance in in New Japan, she was a ballet for Yudrow Takahashi. Her own character, ladies and gentlemen, was that she had big boobs. Exactly. That was all. I think Mina Shirakawa is probably my favorite startup wrestler because I know, because I got to learn the whole story of her getting in the feuds over being pretty and having big boobas and stuff like that. And then Saya breaks her face in her whole career changes. And she literally, she came back like the second coming to Tanahashi. I don't know. Like she came back with club Venus and new attitude. You know, and she finished her story arc in stardom. But honestly, she's gotten so much bigger than a startup. She put herself into the spot. She worked incredibly hard. And I was saying this earlier on the pre-show, but if anybody has watched Queen of Villains, you know, the Netflix series, one of the big storyline pieces that comes up in Queen of Villains is this sheds light on, you know, back in that era of 80s, Joshi wrestling, there was a retirement limit. Over the age of 25, you were getting kicked out of companies. Nobody was being able to wrestle that long. Like, so you put that full circle as now, how many women, just about every woman that wrestled on the card today is over 30 almost, like almost everybody's over 30, but specifically mean of just showing like there are no limits. There are no bounds of she's a star and she's going to start anywhere she ends up. And, you know, if she'll, she's probably going to be all elite. But I think, you know, she deserves all the coins, all the push. She's just amazing. Like, and I know both of them really wanted this match. She's been like, they said five years in the making. And so they made it count. It was amazing. Yeah, just a meaner sure. It's just probably the best woman's roster when it comes to a psychology of a match up. And you can kind of tell, you can kind of write out how the match went, because it just makes sense. It's her going after the leg. It's Mercedes selling the leg so well. Like everything she was doing, she would grab onto the leg. She would sell it at different points. She couldn't do different moves because of the damage done to the leg. And just the unique ways that that meaner goes after the leg. Like she could just do a couple of dragon screws, a couple of knees to the knee. And that's what you usually would get from like your mainstream wrestling. That's how they work over the leg. It's just like three moves to the leg. And then they put on whatever submission move. But meaner just keeps doing it. He just keeps doing it, keeps going after it. She has the one move that she can get the job done with going after the leg is the figure four. But it's not, oh, let me go for it one time. It doesn't work. Let me try something new. No, she got to keep going for it. Keep going for it. Keep going for it. And I love the fact that the two last matches that Mercedes had for New Japan, a strong women's championship, gave me like callbacks or gave me memories of one of her great matches from WWE. The Zuki match was very reminiscent of Bayley at TakeOver Brooklyn. I was live for that matchup. And the match with a Zuki is probably on par with that as far as like an underdog baby face going against Mercedes Monet. But this one, this totally different people, but the way they worked overlay, the way they kept going for the figure four, it was very reminiscent of all the great Sasha Banks versus Charlotte Flair match. It's like a lot of this match had that kind of vibe to it. And the fact that this match in a hole is probably going to be looked at as the Mercedes Monet polyticky badge of honor because she got 14 minutes in the dome. That's like, that's like Zack Sabre Jr and show to Amino get 43. Like what, like 14 minutes? I have to stand. Y'all, I'm gonna be honest. And if it was her polyticking man. But no good. No, this is not an insult. Oh, yeah. Big Mercedes Hogan. Big Mercedes Hogan. Listen, that's like I said, in 2025, we done being humble. Sucks for you. You can't get. We're done. We are done being humble. We're done. We take it 14 minutes. And then yeah, we, everybody getting time. And I'm gonna be honest. I think by the next time, you know, this time next year, once the Wrestle Dynasty card, you know, if they continue to do it, which I think they will, I think we're looking at even more women's matches. Well, real women's potential, you know, when they first ran that women's match. Like I said, yesterday, Tam Kari, people weren't really into it. But like every women's match that they ran this weekend was very well received. And so Mercedes, you know, having a banger that, you know, that opens the door for more. But yeah, these are real stars. And I feel like I'm gonna be honest of, I think this is the first time in a very long time. I felt like Mercedes was really going toe-to-toe with real stars, like real stars. Outside of the horse women and Bianca, and you know, maybe Oscar, I don't really feel like she was really put in a position to really go to war with a lot of legitimate stars. And I think it's just night and day right now. And I think Mina is just so smart too, of just like how she, like you said, she's one of the only people I think who genuinely understands how to adapt for any audience that she's in front of. Like she'll, you know, the way that she plays to American crowds versus the stardom's crowds, a house show crowd versus a pay-per-view crowd, like, you know, stadium crowd, you know, versus the stuff she was doing, Mariah and Tony, like she's so layered. And she really put herself in position to do this, like to, you know, to be here. She was translating all of her tweets and promos in English to like grow her international base. She really prepared, you know, for this. And so hats off to both women. I think I gave it a Lisa for at least, you know, this was a great match up. And I felt like outside of Omega, this was the match that played to the stadium the best. I can, yeah, I can get you with it. What stood out to me, and you guys touched on it at the beginning, is the selling. Mercedes selling was just outstanding. And Mina, I become a bigger fan of Mina after every match. And I haven't seen too many matches of hers, but the ones that I have seen, she's entertaining as hell. And I, I think she's going to be a massive star. I mean, she's already proving it like in Japan now. But like even here, people love her when she appears on screen on Dynamite or collision. But the one thing that I wanted to mention that I liked was after the match and later on through the night on social media, they showed Mercedes with the belts and stuff. There was a smile on Mercedes that I really haven't seen since that WrestleMania moment she had with Bianca. And that was just, that was, that was pretty damn cool, I thought. She's happy. And I think that's also to the thing. And I will say, I think you could tell there was some nerves somewhere. I think between the, after the Willow match and like before, I think all out, you could tell there's some nerves and she's still trying to like, okay, like was this the right, what am I doing, et cetera. But once you like remember who she was, and I think like everything is starting to fall in place to prove this was the right call, not just for her, but I think for women's wrestling. And I tweeted that to Mercedes walking into the Tokyo dome two years ago, single-handedly changed the trajectory of women's wrestling for everybody. And that's not just in AEW, it's not just in New Japan, but WWE too, it changed it for everybody of just like how business is handled, how women are seen, the type of power they have and free agency, the type of attractiveness that they have to partner promotions when it comes to inter promotional events like these. When you talk about like a figure who's actually a catalyst for change in professional wrestling, nobody, there's nobody bigger or doing it like her. And so you could tell I finally clicked and you could tell like, she's very happy with her decision now. And I'm really happy that she's happy. And I think that wrestlers tend to do their best work when they're happy. And even while she was in WWE, I remember all it was that she talked about being so unhappy for so many times of just like not even knowing what her real hair was like, not knowing, not hearing her own name for weeks and months at a time of just like, you know, I think that it's really coming together and to do it under her IP and have her song playing and have, you know, I can only imagine. Yeah, we just need her, Jen Pepperman and Tony Khan to figure out her AEW character because she is like the the antithesis of then the bell rings and then the bell rings and then she becomes great. Her and Kenny, I think need to be booked exactly the same. I think that they need to be booked as these goats here, just final bosses who genuinely like, and I think that's why I liked her few with stats so much or but specifically just because I, well, not even the stats stuff. I like the promos actually that she had with Anna Jay. I like, she was like, you've actually accomplished nothing. You're nobody. I don't know you. I've never heard of you. I want her to start doing that more. Stop being humble. Call the broke. Tell me you never drew a dime. Exactly. That's what Kenny be doing. I love that from the press conference. You never drew a dime. You think you're me. You're not even Oscar. You're not even Jay White. You're none of these people. You're no one. Exactly. Do you know who I am? Like, I think I want to see that from her. Like, we don't need to do all this rah-rah. Put your accomplishments on a table, putting them four belts in their face, and make them cry. That's it. I need that. I need that instead of the cliches and the cat raises. Yeah, and I understand that's what she's most comfortable with, but that's also to have just, I think it's going to come. She has a lot of Stanford quirks that she had to like, unlearn. Even her matches, I would say, have just, it's a lot of things that she had to, she's unlearning and just like getting used to like, you know, a new format, but it's still better than it was a couple months ago on the mic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Guys, get on those Humper Chats and Super Chats. Get your question red on the ear. We will move on to our next match here. The David Finley taking on Brody King. These two, these us. Luke, let's start with you. What do you think of this? I don't know. I'm kind of obsessed with David Finley now. I don't know. It's just a man. As far as somebody, he's one of the only people that went two for two on both nights. I would say him and Knoske to Kestra, well, I didn't go to Suji. I would say I probably the only people who really went two for two on both nights. What a guy. And also Brody King. He just always just, he delivers man and like, seeing them go at it. I'm going to rewatch all this again, by the way, but it was just, yeah, it was really good. David Finley getting the win here was great. It was just a really good match that I'm going to be honest, like when I first heard of the concept of Wrestle Dynasty, that's not a match that I would have ever imagined would be on the card, but I'm glad that it was. Like, I'm glad somebody else thought that up because it was really good. Yeah, that that match was fun. The power bomb is what like, there's very few moments like these days. I've watched so much wrestling just like you guys. There's very few moments where I'm just like, holy shit, like, you know, like, did that just happen? Like, I was not expecting that power bomb. That's how like, I was like, David Finley's David Finley, man, he's just awesome. And I like how they talked him up on commentary, because there's a lot of new people watching David Finley for the first time. And I liked how commentary like brought up his dad and how he's like, how he's different, how David Finley's different. I really thought that was pretty good. But overall, this match, I thought was good. Brody King, he's, I love Brody King too, you know, that's a thing like he, it was one of the things where I would have been five of either guy waiting, and I think the right guy did win tonight. Yes, because the boss dog, he won, he won, he won, ladies and gentlemen. I, I spoken into existence. We bought, we all, we all here shooting in the gym. We Rob Lyric, we all here shooting in the gym with David Finley, David Finley, the MVP of Tokyo Dome weekend. I'm sick of these haters. These haters will never give him a break. These haters will never give this man a break. So I'm gonna be screaming from the mountain top how David Finley went two foot two in the Tokyo Dome. And this match, yo, did I hit a crowd cheering for my man, David Finley? He became a other dog baby face again before our eyes. Like, I love how they laid out this match of Brody King just beating the hell out of this man. Like, it felt like forever. And then the, the, the, the cross body into the barricade when a barricade almost looked like a better than it has. Oh my God. New Japan has, I think, a very interesting problem right now, because I think their foreigners really showed up this weekend. But domestic talent, as far as the young guys, I think showed up cooping the bed the way that he did. It's just like, okay, I'm just, if you're thinking about the longevity of like, for like, who does that drop, drop the title to, I don't think that's evident. The only people who are already are non-Japanese. And so, and here's the thing. I don't think that's a bad thing, but I do, I know of New Japan and how they like, think of things and like, for the, that's a bad thing. For, you know, so it's just, I don't know, but David Finley is one of those people too. One, you need to keep him. And then two, what are you gonna do with him once you people? It's very interesting. And also, we'll talk about that with the next match, but you now have arguably, not arguably, the new international ace under contract too. So, yeah, it's getting spooky out here. It's getting spooky outside. The people who look like they're leading New Japan for the next year is Zack, David Finley, a gay kid. Like, it's all the foreigners. It's no, like, I love, I love, I love Suji, but these three are ahead of you. And honestly, and truly the person who's gonna, the Japanese star that's gonna end up skipping, skipping to the front of the line for these big spots is Takeshia. He is now, I mean, the three contracts, that's insane, but it makes perfect sense. I mean, it makes perfect sense. We'll talk more about that, I guess, once we get that match. But, yeah, I don't know, man, it's getting really spooky outside. But, you know, I have faith, my Roy the mullet, you know, big Oiwa, he's gonna fix all of this. And so, we're just not gonna have to worry about any of this, you know, he's gonna fix all of it. But this match was just really well laid out and performed by both guys. Brody King just coming out here, standing out, getting the crowd behind him, the crowd start doing the barking noise, when he's about to do the cross body. That was a great moment. Finley just going like head first into the barricade before that. I was, I was scared for him at that moment. Him busting out freaking high flying moves jumping off the top rope to the floor. I was like, Oh, David Finley, you're really going baby phase. You think you spinly now. Okay, you'll see block Finley now. That's nice. And then, and then, and I love how they built up to, like, what you said, Rob, they built up to that power of Bob's body because he tries for it early. He tries for all his power moves early, but it doesn't work on Brody King. So they told him a nice story of how he had to adapt his game, come up with a different game plan, and then execute it hit the big power bomb at the end. And then the overkill to pick up the victory. This was so well done. David Finley, another excellent match back to back nights. And also, too, I think Brody King, y'all got to do something with him, of just, I don't know, just like, you know, House of Black, who knows what that faction is or isn't at this point, but one person, I think out of the entire faction, the only thing that's ever been consistent is Brody King. He has been consistent. You got to do something with him. You know, I don't know, put him in the TNT title picture or something. I don't know, but he has to, you got to do something with him. He's been super dependable. He's done two consonants of classics. It has to, yeah, you got to do something. I, what I want them to do with him is like, I want him to actually just get so irritated with House of Black that he just becomes a bigger monster. And he just, that's how you make, you make him a big heel, like, even bigger. I mean, there are already a heel group. I think his future is a baby face, though. That's what, that's what he kind of, the continental classic kind of set up. I like monster baby faces. I think we need to get back to it. Every super big guy can, I think you could be dominating without being like an evil heel, you know, just, it's just one of those things to where I think that there's a balance for him to like, you know, rip people to shreds, but nicely with. As long as we got the train sound going, you know, like, yeah, let's get back. Yeah, you know, I think we should just hit people with a heart. Oh, look at that. Look at that. Speaking of hearts, Shadow Umano came out next and he came out with a paper belt. Oh, my God. Like, literally, you go, go to the True Hillary YouTube channel and collect my reaction to this. I was like, this, for literally the whole edges. I was like, yo, I was rooting for you. I was rooting for you. I want the best for you. What happened? What happened to my dog? Like, they got you out here looking foolish. You ain't even come out with a paper belt for your championship, man. When it makes sense, you did it after you lost. My dude. Oh, my God. What do we do? And then, and then Claudia jumps him from behind, making them look like a dweeb. Also, it's like, Claudia, I don't know. I know he wanted to get that gimmick over, but I would be honest. I would never forego give up an entrance into Tokyo Dome, especially if that's my first thing. I would never. I mean, I guess it's his problem or whatever. I mean, you could do what you want. But me personally, I would take that. They can't have two people coming from the crowd. I mean, that's the gimmick. That's the gimmick. That's so unfortunate. Yeah, that's kind of crazy. Imagine having to give up your entrance because Shoda Uuna wants to ride in on a bicycle dressed like a unicorn. This sounds crazy. Just like a unicorn or this is a bubble, bubble-licious bubblegum. It was giving very much my little pony. It was given very much polypacket, very much strawberry shortcake. And typically, I'm in all those things just not for you. I'm going to be honest. At this point, Shoda Uuna, I think you need to sit in the corner and think about what you did. You embarrassed our father. And I'm talking about Tada Hashi. You embarrassed our father, President, a soul bat. He put his head down of just my, you had like, embarrassing your parents in public. That's what it just reminded me of, of just, he had faith in you. I remember watching all those Instagram lives. He took you on his wing. He was taking you with him everywhere. Like, I just, you need to sit in the corner and really think about what you've done. Because in my opinion, broke people should never laugh. Never laugh. I don't think that's a, I don't mean like the money broke, but you, you don't have like your future cooked right now. I think why are you smiling? What's funny? What's funny? Paper belts? Nobody. And I think also too, because I've been to the dome and I've also been in the backstage area, there's like, you have to pass several people before you have, you get to go out. So like, nobody stopped you and said this was a bad idea. Nobody looked at that and they said, hey, man, put it down. You ain't, you ain't had the best night last night. Let's, you know, and that's why I think that when it comes to him, the whole company has a very big accountability problem. I don't know how they don't stop it, honestly. It's just, bro, do you realize that we, they've been hog tying you on this MMA. They've been hog tying you since yesterday. And you got a jiggle and we're doing paper. You got time for arts and crafts? You took all of our time yesterday and still had time for arts and crafts. Only took them 43 minutes. 43 minutes of my life yesterday and still had time to go to art, do arts and crafts. And saying all of that, this match was good. It just, it just, it doesn't, it wasn't good enough where we can't forget what happened yesterday. No, it wasn't. And I think also too, of most, most of the things that I liked about this match include a Claudio of just the literally just uppercut in him in the hill and, you know, spinning them around. Yeah, I just, my thing too, and I, you know, I don't believe in my bullying or anything, but I do think that you need to listen to some constructive criticism because everybody's doing it. In fact, they put the camera on everybody in the building so we can see their reaction to see that they're not moved. Like, Tana Hashi's face was the, it said it all, enough. Have you no shame? And he won? But yeah, that was, yeah, that was, it was, it is what it is that match. And I was actually thinking Claudio would maybe get the win, but, but yeah, show them winning means that they're going to run the MOCs match back, which in 2025, who knows what that's going to look like. I think they should, I don't think that they should do that on Forbidden Door. They're probably going to do it on Forbidden Door, but I think they should do it at Dominion. But actually, no, do it on Forbidden Door. I can't, if they ruin Dominion, I think I couldn't take it, but I can survive a bat Forbidden Door match. But I can't, I can't take a bat Dominion. Never mind. Forget I said that. But, yeah, we'll move on to the next one. Never open weight championship in the AEW international championship match. He cast with his guy, Don, Callis, taking on a home from your own ECE. Lyric, what do you think? Wow. We're not worthy. We're simply not worthy. And also to the greatest thing that ever happened to New Japan post AEW is Kenosuke D'Keshta. He is the answer to so many of their problems. And I'd, like I said, I don't know how three contracts are going to go, but the aura is crazy. Like it's just everything about him just is so big and larger than life. And I think that we miss those type of characters in Japanese wrestling of those people who just feel bigger than wrestling itself. And he's going to have a very, very, very long prosperous career because of that. But I think ECE was the perfect opponent because he don't care about none of that. And bro, they have my gold up there. He was doing her honors off the top turnbuckle at 39 years old. If you're not ready to die for this, go home. This is not for you. I think that's one of the things too of I think T'Keshta and that's something that I've kind of had problems with with the younger generation in New Japan sometimes, because they got to wrestle with an entitlement of just like, okay, I don't have to, oh, I don't want to do that. I'm kind of like this of just not understanding that the nature of this is, you got to wrestle like you about to die. Like you're ready to die for this. Unfortunately, I hate to be so crude about it, but that's just the truth. You fight like everything is on the line. Like that is what Strong Style is. And ECE just epitomizes that. Like being 49 years old and he's still putting out some of the best matches of his career. Like watch his trilogy last year with Masakeeta Mia, which was just just head and shoulders above everything, any type of meat match that you think you watched. But man, this was amazing. Two belts to Keshta. Like I said, it's just one of those things too of, I think AEW has a lot to think about after their talent really looked great. But I think specifically as it relates to Keshta and Kenny, like of, yeah, we done, like we done with all this play in the background and like, you know, you need to push them like gods. That's really what it comes down to of what's next, because Keshta is clearly going to be covered on the Japan side. Like, you know, he's loved and he's going to continue to get more big opportunities, but he signed AEW to be a star in the US as well. And New Japan being interested in him does not absolve AEW of responsibility for making that happen. Thanks. Um, I absolutely love this match because this is the type of New Japan pro wrestling matches that made me continue to wake up at 3 a.m. in the morning or 2 a.m. in the morning, because I didn't, I don't need to go to the store to get some coffee. I don't need to go to the store to get a Red Bull or a caffeine boost, because my caffeine is ECE, no cell is something, because that gives me all the energy that I need. And ECE, oh my God, he is the most, he is so random when, when he could bust out these, these matches. Like the last time he busted out a match like this, I think was Kergan Hall against Yoshi Hashi during the qualifying tournament for the G1 and that's so random. It's a qualifying tournament. ECE, you might not want to have a match that was better than 50% of the G1. Like, like people don't want to talk about it, but it was, it was better than like 50% of the G1 and it was so random how he did it, but this was the biggest stage possible and he just comes out here and he has a better match up than Chingo Takagi did with Tkesta. And I hate to say that because I love that match. I thought that that match was absolutely fantastic, but this was just a little bit better because it's ECE who should not be, you know, he's out of his prime, he's Chingo is in his prime. So we probably have higher expectations and I think that we were more upset that that match got 13 minutes and it needed five extra minutes where this match was the same amount of time. It accomplished, it covers more. It covers more because we just got this, like the energy of the crowd and the roar of the crowd when they're just hitting each other and battering each other. And Tkesta delivers the best forearms and knee strikes in the business today. And I am saying that, yes, knowing that Kenny Omega does do a damn good knee strike himself. But that I'm telling you, that's how good Knozki Tkesta is. Is the God of wrestling is great at everything is the best at everything. But Tkesta may be the best at throwing a knee strike and throwing a forearm strike because it is follow through. No one has a better follow through than Knozki Tkesta. His follow through is and it looks like he's delivering pain every time. Give him the forearms. I think nobody does that better and his elbow is freaking nuts. But the knees, I don't know. I think that is our difference. I think Tkesta's knee makes it feel like you're being hit by a mat truck just because of how strong he is. But Kenny's knee, it's a work of art. It's a work of art. The snap to it. It's just like, I hate to, I hate to compare them just because like, you know, they're both so special in their own way. But it's just like, Kenny Omega, be a trigger of just like, he like glides through the air. It's just, oh, you know, I'm just better, you know, but the forearms you have 100%. Yeah, this was just absolutely outstanding matchup. Just gave you that energy, that hard hitting action. This was strong style, strong style, personified, and these two guys delivered probably any other, any other show, this is the best match on the show, any other show. Absolutely. Now this one. All right, we'll move on to our next one here. The IWGP World Tacking Championship match, the Young Bucks, first time they've wrestled since losing their titles to the private or two private party on the November 30th edition, I think of Dynamite. But anyways, the Young Bucks ticking on United Empires, Great O'Con, Jeff Cobb, and then IOJ, Naito and Takahashi. SP3, what do you think of this? Oh, this was a bunch of fun. This was a super fun matchup because like, you know, you know what I got into this matchup. I love the interest. By the way, you know, the United Empire coming out together. That was nice. LIJ and Haromo looking like a Funko pop, always a bunch of fun and Naito busting out a black suit. That was different. That was fun. The Young Bucks coming out. It was cool. The old music in New Japan. But I'll tell you a minute I got into this matchup where Matt Jackson designed to take off his shirt and he's the most ripped guy in the goddamn matchup. I was so enamored by that. I was so fascinated by it. In the talking interview, he said he got in the best shape of his career. But I didn't know he a guy like that ripped. I was like, I was like, look at everybody else. He's the most ripped guy in this matchup. This is ridiculous. And the Young Bucks carry numbers in a great job carrying in this matchup. They had all the energy in the world. They were delivering on the big stage in the Tokyo Dome and they were in their bag here. Nick Jackson moving around doing all the Nick Jackson things that he does. The high fly and the agility. Matt Jackson kind of keep beating the glue of the matchup. Really just kept this whole thing going. I thought Great O'Con was also great in this matchup and really, really had the strong kind of comeback at the end where it looked like he was going to get the victory. You know, Horomo is a romo. He's always great at what he does. Naito, it was times where Naito was taking naps because he asked. He has to take naps at this point. And tag team wrestling is probably where he should be. So this was this was much better use of Naito than night one in the Tokyo Dome. This was and Jeff Cobb. Jeff Cobb, man. What can I say about Jeff Cobb? He's just he just no one should be as agile and as strong as Jeff Cobb and as good at both as Jeff Cobb. That's what it comes down to. But yeah, Young Bucks getting to win here. I thought it was the right decision. It was the right winner because I was like, I honestly going into this matchup. I was like, yeah, could you could you have the Young Bucks stay here for a while? Like there's a bunch of people that was on this show for AEW. I'm just like, can y'all just stay in New Japan? Like, you know, like, y'all ain't doing nothing. You know, like, just stay. Yeah, just stay. Just stay. We gave, we gave you a nice room. You got some nice titles. You can put as decorations. Like everybody's having such a good time. Like, you know, just stay. Yeah, it was it was fun. It was good. I enjoyed it. Jeff Cobb, man. The guy is just awesome. Another person who went two for two in the dome, I think a fantastic performances of, you know, he was the standout of that four-way match. And he looked, I mean, absolutely incredible here. Great O'Con has really grown on me over the last couple months. I think he's he's been pretty good. Like, and he was good in this spot. If Naito and Haramu, if this was the only spot that we had saw them in this two days, I would have been totally fine with that. I think that they were just so much more better utilized in this tag match and like, you know, they feel important, you know, and without, you know, just having like a disappointing singles match. And so it's a great use for them. And I would like to say, like I said, we're done being humble of 2025. My glorious EVPs, my goats are strapped up again. It is going to be the revenge tour. Like we done being humble, Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, Hangman Page, YouTube, Ben Kazu, we're coming for it all. I would have kinder say, I deserve it all. My glorious EVPs, Matthew Jackson, they could never make me hate you. Those pearls. Oh, I just, they brought back the old school music. They were jumping out the gym. Never disrespect my Young Bucks. Never disrespect them. They, listen, it was just really cool. I think especially because the Tokyo Dome shows, it's it is the anniversary of A.U. being announced. So for them and Kenny to come back and like, just do such a amazing, you know, just like it an amazing return. It's just, it's very full circle. And also it's proof that all the wrestling does not exist without New Japan pro wrestling. Everything that we like about AEW exists because of New Japan pro wrestling or is because of New Japan pro wrestling. And this, and Chris Charleston says it over and over again on commentary is that AEW is where the best wrestle, because the best wrestle here. And that is the truth. You know, think about all the, the goats that you on the, you see like, Osprey, Okada, Omega, the Bucks, you know, everybody, even to Kesha, getting that G1 run of everybody, you know, that's where you try yourself. Mercedes, I think is one of those people too. That's where you try yourself on the cerulean blue and fantastic, just fantastic. So we go on to the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Yoda taking on Jack Perry. Lyric, what did you think of this? Um, that was good. Like it was good. I think Suji looked, he stood out more in this match. I think of he was definitely, I think yesterday's match, even though he looked really good, I think it was very clear. Like David Finley was the standout performer, but he was the standout performer in this match. Jack Perry, I need you to start doing flips again. I don't know. I mean, I like the skate code gimmick. I was in Chicago for Windy City Riot. Listen, I thought, I think it's amazing, but we need you to start doing flips again. You can still be a bad guy and drive your little bust, but we need your wrestle like jungle boy. It's kind of like what Tony Storm, right? When she adopted the timeless gimmick, I want you to keep that character exactly how it is, but wrestle like you're in stardom. That's really it. And I think at this point, the fact that he was in such a big spot of, and we're still having to say this is one of those things, sure, is it's like, I'm not going to say he's never going to get it, but I don't know if he's going to get it at this point. And honestly, at this point, there's so many other people like the pillars have been overshadowed surpassed. And I think, I don't know, just we don't need to give out. I'm not saying that it's a pity match because obviously he was working with New Japan throughout the year, but you're supposed to put your best people forward when you do these type of shows. And I'm not sure he was the best AEW had to offer for an IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship match. I think that there were other people who could have really stole the show in that spot. But like I said, it wasn't bad. It was good, but a lot of interesting conversations right now for the AEW roster. So I like them a lot. I thought tonight they did pretty well with what they had run in with Jack Grady. I think you make a good point. He needs something needs to be different with them. But overall, I enjoyed the match. I thought, obviously, I think the the right guy won. And this match was I think part of the problem with this match for me was because I knew what the next matches were. You know, like the next two matches were going to be. I think that played a part into why this match didn't do that much for me. But it wasn't, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. So also Suji with gold has so much Oreo. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, that interest went crazy. I will say that 100%. And he's also one of those people to where I would be honest, everything is going to click for him. But much of his career, he's going to be our merchant. And I think that's okay. I think some people can get away with that. And I think he's going to be one of the people who can get away with that of just, you know, one great entrance and, you know, a couple power moves and the people will go, wow, I think that's going to be Yoda Suji one day. I think that's going to be great, actually. I mean, from the the long hair to the spear, he's been being compared to Roman Reigns since he came back to New Japan. And I mean, if you want an example of our immersion. Yeah, the only benefit that I will say that Roman has over like somebody like, no, Suji has over somebody like Roman is the fact that I do think that he has his identity figured out as far as like his presentation is character like of who he is. I think that he has a much better grasp with that than I think a lot of guys do. And I think that's why even though the in ring and everything might not have 100 cent click, that's why he's always been held in a steam above the other guys in his generation as we're like, so like, shoulder and ring just because he came. It's not one of those things to have just like, you know, even if you are a hot mesh, don't look like it. Try not to look like what you've been through. You know, Suji never looks like what he's been through, but the other ones they do. And so he that he looks put together and honestly looks go a long way, especially when you think about what it means to be a top guy in New Japan, you're doing commercials all the time, you're doing all this all the time. And like, he just, you know, he fits the bill. And he just easy as the like, the best arsenal, the best moveset. I know some people don't like me saying that word, but he has the best arsenal moveset in New Japan for wrestling. And that always helps be in a baby face like he is. But Jaipiri, this was boring. Like Jaipiri, he wrestled a boring match. Like, it is what it is. Like, I love Rob trying to be nice and trying to say, you know, maybe it's because I was looking forward to the next match. No, it's just Jaipiri wrestled a boring match. He slowed it, slowed the pace down, didn't allow Suji to be kind of the, the bolt of energy that he was against David Finley. And it's because Jaipiri, Jaipiri, he gets up for like one match a year now. He did that one match with Brian Danielson. Now it's now we got to wait another year for another match wasn't even great. I mean, it was good, but it wasn't great. I was there. It wasn't great. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it. I enjoy it. I enjoy it. I enjoy, I enjoy everything with Brian Danielson. And Brian Danielson. It was really good. It was really good. It just wasn't great. His best performance was, was Windy City right last year or so. Yes, we got to wait a couple of more months for it. 100% was Windy City right. I think that that matches really good. And I think honestly, like, I would have been much happier if they had just let Shoda and Jack face each other. I think that they would have had to force each other to bring some out of each other. I don't know, or maybe it would have been terrible. I don't know. At this point, I don't know what to do. Well, our next match. Here we are. We made it. Gabe Kidd versus Kenny Omega. Now, you know, that match made a lot of you happy, but there's something else. You got to make that person in your life happy. And this is how you can do that. We've been telling you guys about Blue Choo for years, and we ain't stopping anytime soon. That confidence, that performance, that edge that you're going to get in the bedroom and mentally when you check out bluechoo.com and the code Fightful for shipment free. Yes, shipment. That's because you don't have to wait in line. The pharmacy have any awkward conversations with doctors. You're questioned online. And if approved, the ship straight to your door, it excludes all the awkwardness. Now, listen, so will that confidence. That's going to get rid of a lot of that awkwardness as well. Same active ingredients as Viagra and Sea Alice. You know it's going to work. They know what's going to work. And that's why they're willing to give you that first shipment free at bluechoo.com when you use that code Fightful. Take control. Handle your business. Bluechoo.com and the code Fightful. That's always awkward. Like, when I see some of the comments in chat, and this one just well played. Well, well played. Oh, so the match that we've been waiting for since well Kenny Omega's last match because that's pretty much how it always goes. You're always looking forward to Kenny Omega's next match because they're all just fantastic. And tonight was no exception. But what was also stood out for this match was as I told a friend tonight in a chat when I was talking with him. I am so glad that people are getting to see Gabe Kid because Gabe Kid was made into a star tonight. And he was badass. The this match was just it was everything I wanted it to be and more. That's I mean, but I say that almost every damn time with Kenny Omega. And I'm saying that like it makes it makes me sound like I'm mad about that. No, I just I can't believe it. You know, that's that's how it is. That's how damn good he is. And the fact that we it took us this long before we could have another Kenny Omega match is I think that's what made it even so much better. I don't know if that's the right word that I want to use, but just the weight for it and what we got out of both men tonight, Gabe Kid and Omega just they just slaughtered it. They absolutely killed it. And the one thing I'll say is after watching this match, I knew like I already knew based off like some of the interviews I've seen that Sean had with with Kid that I'm like, this guy's just gonna be a star like even bigger. But what happened tonight, I thought was the perfect way to get him if if and I don't think he is leaving. But if David feeling leaves tonight was the night where I gave kids going to be the next leader. He was already on track for that. Yeah, but this this this right here, it made it made a gave kid a future Russell kingdom name. He made him a future I WGP world heavyweight champion. Now I talk a lot. I do a lot of like star ratings and stuff like that. And I feel I told people before like there's only been one WWE match that I ever gave like above a five star reading. And that stone cold Steve Austin versus Brett the hitman heart because you you knew when you were watching that you're experiencing something special something significant that you would think about that kind of it was a a landmark shape shifting moment because not only was it Brett the hitman heart you know turning heel at the peak of his powers being one of the best wrestlers in the world and stone cold Steve Austin this heel this heel on the rise before our eyes though Austin was becoming the face of the company. And that is the moment that kind of changed everything for WWE where it became the attitude era. We just walked in to the game kid era for people that weren't around in 1997 and I was only nine years old at the time. But this was new Japan's new Japan's version of Brett heart versus stone cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13 the from the blood to the grit of the matchup to the realism. This is in this matchup is very much like Austin and Brett where that matches timeless. You can watch it tomorrow and you'll still say that's a perfect matchup because it's just brawling it's intense. It goes full throttle from the moment goal everything they do is violent and it makes sense that they're trying to cause pain to one another cause punishment to one another. And that's what we got here. But we got it on a more even higher kind of storytelling level because of everything of the build up going in. We gave feeling like he's the representative of new Japan for wrestling that Kenny betrayed new Japan that he left them behind that he forgot about them. So he's gonna be the defender. And this is someone who's saying he's gonna be defender after four years now in the bullet glove war does you've been nothing but a chaos you want chaos to do Japan. You've been an enemy of new Japan. And from the minute we get the entrances and he pulls off the trunks he pulls out the track pants and his trunks have the bullet glove war dollars logo and the new Japan logo. And you heard the roar of that crowd like oh oh he's got the new Japan logo. And then Kenny gets the big three Patrick entrance with the final fantasy producers to make it his own entrance looking like the god of pro wrestling the final boss of it all. And then him and Gabe I love how they start this matchup where they just like not let's finish off what we let's squat the scrap up squabble up. Squabble up. We're not here music. It makes me dance. You really said let's finish what we started. Let's go. We we started right here at power struggle. We're gonna finish right here. Let's go right here from the start. Then you get by all the stuff outside where it looks like we're going into kind of a Kenny Omega style matchup and then just gets flipped on his head and it becomes a game kid style matchup where he just has this frenetic pace. It's all violent. It's a lot of brawling on the floor. You get the big power bomb over the barricade into the table. You got Gabe who I just said I was on the watch a lot. I was like oh his head his head hit the chair. I don't know how he started how he got busted open in story. But I don't care because what's the blood starting this this matchup went from like second gear to third gear and we still had like 20 minutes left of the matchup and then that moment where they're fighting on the outside after Gabe starts bleeding and then Kenny does the big dive from the ring to the outside. No one catches them and he's landing on that. It looks like a hard surface that has an edge that he I was like he's gonna have a broken tailbone. I was like he's coming back to have a broken tailbone and then he starts selling the hip. I knew I knew I knew for a moment that he's not selling the tailbone and he's selling the hip. I was like that's Kenny that's Kenny moving thinking on the fly. That's Kenny thinking on the fly. He's like I just landed on my I'm gonna act like my hip is all hurt. Then you get the new Japan lion uh the young lion come over and give him the ice and he kicks the new Japan lion and Gabe becomes a baby face. Gabe grabs the lion he's like no you're not gonna do he's wearing the lion mark and he starts firing up and just the different moments times of stretch like Gabe busting out the cobra twist and I'm you can go on and watch a look I just go like I'm no key I'm no like yo he went to the he went right to the stomach he starts attacking the stomach. It's just these moments that make this match up so memorable. This is one of the greatest Tokyo dome matches of all time. This is one of the greatest new Japan matches I think I've ever seen and this is just so different from every other Kenny Omega Tokyo dome match. The Ocada matchup is a new Japan epic style main event. Him and Jericho is a brawl similar to this with the plunder. Same with the Will Osprey matchup where you have the bloodshed there and you got the table spots on the outside. These have the similarities to the Gabe Kidmat but this one is just so much more unhinged. It's just so much full with meaning and layers and emotion and drama and just grit. This is just it's just put this in my veins. I want to watch this again and again I should go to sleep after this review. I'm probably going to watch this match. That's how great this was. This is what this is. A match that everyone needs to see. This was absolutely incredible in every way possible. Yeah it was so good. You're ready. I literally, y'all I was tearing the pro but my glorious go had me so stressed like nobody of just like I think I think that sometimes wrestling isn't even bad. I think I've realized that maybe I'm just punishing everybody else for not being kitty omega and I think maybe that's why everybody's been so angry you know and over the past year and everything because kitty omega is not here. Just like for the second he comes out none of that matters none of this discord this matters. This is the greatest wrestler of all time. This is my goals. This is my goal and he's not just like oh he was great. He's still great and he knows how to play up to our emotions. He knows that every time that that stomach got hit that I was going to scream you know after you know worried about that surgery he's still in amazing shape. Nobody provokes emotions quite like him and I think like you like you said he's given everybody a different version of himself in that ring. I think for a while I thought it was kind of going to be like the osprey match and he's just battering him and then he gets battered himself and it's just like bro kitty omega with the crimson mask and the tokyo dog. That's one of the greatest crimson match ever. At one point it just kind of bought a whole blot of blood on his eye. Oh my god. It's always his eye. You got to think the last time that he was here he wrestled with one eye for at least half the match of like y'all and never be him and I'm gonna be and I said this and this is a this is a might be a hot take but I think that and I want to say this I love Brian Danson. I absolutely love Brian Danson but I feel like ever since 2021 with the acquisition of Brian Danson. AEW kind of forgot you got the goat right here. You already had a of just like I think the framing of like who he is and like what he means to professional wrestling I think has lacked considerably in recent years and they really need to get that back because like they'll never be a person who can make a star overnight the way that kenya mega has. Will osprey was on an amazing run like he was already doing amazing things for people who were watching. That Tokyo don't match even in loss single-handedly changes life and that's just the truth and I think we see the same thing for Gabe Kid here. I think for Gabe though specifically I hope he learns the same lesson that osprey learned of just I think before that he was also very similar in the sense of very loud always angry just always talking all the time and I think like I after you know well osprey is still kind of talkative but afterwards he kind of got into the habit of letting the work speak for itself and I think that Gabe needs to do that and just because like anybody who's been watching him knows that the in-ring is there like the in-ring is there it's the stuff outside of it and so like but I hope I and I think you don't come out of a match like that not being changed like forever hopefully for the better and so like I like I am excited and like I said earlier new Japan is in the weird predicament to where you have some great foreigners right now and they all are they're they're ready you know and it's so interesting specifically because those are the guys the LA dojo guys were honestly afterthought to the so long like just tree and so like for them to emerge the way that they have into this legitimate star power it's almost they kind of didn't in spite of the company sometimes and right now like you know he like specifically is undeniable it's just that yeah this gonna go to alter and also too like for kitty to have had such a monumental historic career like he had in new Japan the fact that he goes back and he somehow tops what he's already done after all that he's been through since between the injuries and the surgeries and like the sickness and he's not real he like broke my goat of just all the wrestling I'm not gonna lie he needs to win the casino golly I don't care um he needs to win this casino golly well and I think also too is that type of stuff I don't want to see I don't want to argue about death ribers no more what are we talking about like what are we talking about this is the goat of professional wrestling he's back we're all at the ramp carpet what are we talking about we can cut all this out right now like we can really cut all this out right now that's how I feel about it of you know the dean at home um it's gonna be a spooky year for everybody we're done being humble the answer is no I don't want to see Kenneth Jerome omega lay down for anybody that's not okada swerve hangman or osprey arts of Kesha yeah those are the five people and all elite wrestling that are on his level and honestly they really not but you know comparable that's it he don't need to lay down for nobody else except if it's not one of those people absolutely not yeah whoo that was something but uh we do have another super chat this was just from Julio he uh they didn't leave a message but uh thank you very much for the super chat they did uh say earlier in the chat uh to go off sp3 so I think that's uh maybe what that was part of because you were going off um I don't know what what part but there's numerous parts where you went off tonight which is good because that's what part of this fun is but that match I don't smoke but man I could have used a cigarette after that one anyways we move on we move on to the main event the none other than Zack Sabre Jr. taking on Rick O'Shea rickish rickishay as I say every time on my show rickishay whoo this was a match I knew I wanted to see again but this was the thing about this this match is it was fine it was good it was I had no problem with it it's just my main event was already done um that that was the problem so overall I thought this was a great match the obviously I think the red guy won but uh lyric what do you think yeah I think that the match was really good and I'm really glad that rickishay started off you know just jumping out the gym and which was also a good sign because I was kind of scared because you know rickishay first came to AEW he was doing that thing for a while to wear rather than do his own thing he was like trying to wrestle his opponent style and stuff like I'm not trying to see rickishay have a technical wrestling match for 20 minutes I'm not interested um so I love the fact that he he started doing flips out the gate and I think um him and Zach just compliment each other so well like I think that he complimented the stuff that Zach was trying to do you know technically and I think Zach complimented the stuff that rickishay was trying to do aerially and just also too rickishay as a heavyweight I think just added so much to his game I think all of us will appreciate this match better if we probably re-watch it later um but it was it really was really good and I wish that that was it was last night's main event um it was it laughed last night's main event and it was so and it was so succinct too I think it was the perfect time it was just awesome like I it really was it really was an awesome match it it just shouldn't have been invented but um yeah I think it was a it was a great match great match before we move on I've seen a couple people mention this in chat and I've seen it see it on Twitter and I missed it what happened to Bryce Grimsberg in this match I'm not I'm not complaining I just I've seen a lot of people ask and like then all of a sudden we see red shoes which is who I thought should have been out there the whole time but my critical thinking was so just disappeared during like I can't well I can't tell you nothing that anything outside of Kenneth Jerome Omega I can't tell it can't call him yeah so anyways going back to that I just wanted to ask that before I forgot about it because I saw a lot of people asking and seeing on Twitter but man SP3 what do you think of this main event? it was a it was a very good to great matchup I thought the the styles clash was going to work because ricochet does well with someone who's just the complete opposite of him and I think that's why that his start in AEW that was a little bit of a struggle because he was facing guys that were too similar to his style Kyle Fletcher Sammy Guevara it wasn't until like Beast Mortals that I was like okay yeah that's a matchup that actually worked for you because you're facing someone who is not the exact same replica as you so when he's in there with someone like Zach Sabre Junior who's just the master of technical wrestling it just worked and like lyrics said he started from moment go he didn't wait for Zach to finish his entrance he does the dive to the outside they started in second gear they moved up to third gear at the right time they paced this very well but they kept the energy up throughout so the crowd was able to get into things even though I'm sure like a lot of us at home they were still thinking about man did I just see the greatest comeback match of all time and yes we did just the answer just the answer yeah you did because I debated this on the watch along and I was like the only thing that's close is Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam 2002 2002 but that's not even close like that's this Kenny Omega Kenny Omega wins um but yeah we just saw the greatest comeback match of all time then we had another match up and I feel like I just saw back-to-back pay reviews with this in AEW World End where I was about to see a 10 out of 10 show that they just made that one little switch yeah let's move the main event to the semi-main event spot and it's a perfect challenge now I'm gonna be honest I wouldn't even I think that that's kind of disrespectful to compare it to because the world event this was much better than the world's end main event that foreway yeah yeah yeah yeah definitely but but I'm saying yeah yeah it's the same cause you just switch that around I think that this is a perfect show but this is yeah like you said it was very good to to great match they worked really well with each other and man give it up for ricochet making history first time in what two decades we had a black man in the main event so Tokyo Dome and it was a and it was a black man who just quit his job it quit a very lucrative job that wanted to pay him even more money that about to be on Netflix but he's like no I'm betting on myself and over the last month he was the story of the C2 despite go Kada and Osprey putting on the instant classic that they did in the final the story of the C2 this year was ricochet and then he capped it off on Wednesday with that with that attack on Swerve which was some of his best character work of his entire career and then he gets the main event the Tokyo Dome man he's having the best week ever I think that I was also one of the and this is I think a larger conversation but I do think like this especially the last six months I would say since all ends specifically the world has really opened up I was safe for black talent and I think whether people want to admit it or not people whether people want to like admit it or not of just like look at what we saw like this week like when we saw the day specifically like in in four months four five months black men made a vintage Wembley Stadium in the Tokyo Dome that's not happening and you know the rest thing that we were growing we grew up with and that we were born watching you know have time like there's so many opportunities even like Mercedes of we're seeing people who really bet on themselves and it's really paying off and it's time for some uncomfortable conversations and some of y'all aren't going to like it but that's too damn bad unfortunately this is a new world order and the wrestling world is global and I think that we're finally seeing people always say like wrestling isn't like it used to be and don't get me wrong but a lot of things isn't what they're used to being but this era specifically has offered more opportunities to women in my minorities than we've ever seen before and a lot of those opportunities might not come from one place they might come from multiple places and I think that's okay and I think that they're all worth acknowledging a lot of history took place tonight a lot of history has taken place over the last few days and that was just really cool ricochet just I think his move is paid off in space it continues to even in loss I think right now he feels like one of the biggest stars in wrestling yeah yeah I you hit it right on the head there with ricochet I think he's when he left I I said he's he's doing the I he's not necessarily comparing him but I I said what he's doing is he's betting on himself and maybe five years six years seven years depending on how ever long you want to wrestle he's gonna get to he's getting to do what he wants and if he comes back he comes back that was somebody that was upset that he was leaving I'm just one of those kind of persons with that was saying that I'm like he's betting on himself he gets to do what he what he wants to do I've always been pro for the talent like always let the talent do what's best for them or their family so the fact that he's doing this I can't be more I can't be any happier for him because he he's just doing it like he's going out there every week I mean he did so well after that toilet paper was thrown at him um which sp3 were you the one that started that were either you hit him with that no I'm pretty sure that was no yeah we thought it was me I'm kind of mad about the whole toilet paper thing because like I didn't know everybody had toilet paper yeah I'm mad y'all ain't tell me nothing I would have brought some like I really would have brought some I didn't know what the reason I brought that up is that's gonna be a shit like that felt like a turning point it was yeah it was just and he had more heat than the world champion the entire weekend yeah so um I hope he gets that endorsement deal with Charmin or whoever but anyways uh caught mail yeah yeah yeah you caught now whatever whatever but um anything else you guys wanted to uh mention I do see we have another super chat um this was just uh let's see here from Jeremiah uh fortress thank you very much for the super chat we appreciate that um I just wanted to say that Mercedes-Monnet is in her belt collector era we got the actually the first belt collector back and we got the books strapped up as IWGP tech champions it's not going to be fair to any of you um some people are about to have a very very terrible year but not for me um if you see my goats in the forest with a grizzly bear poor honey poor honey on we're done being humble can those gates of Kesha we done being humble okay David Finley please stay um I don't I think that that might be it also too of just seeing like you know Athena staying and start staying and starting for a bit I think is a great thing it's just a really great thing um I'm just really pleased just really pleased I think there's a so many different people who really got to be showcased tonight in a really good way and I'm excited to see how this affects the forbidden door going forward but I think battle in the valley is going to be a great start yeah I found Jeremiah's question here a little light a little light to the little weight to the chat thoughts on Mercedes-Monnet being the new belt collector like Kenny Omega did back in 2020 head that lyric just pretty much said it great amazing and actually we need more we want more belts we come in from more gold we want that CMLL belt we're going to complete the world trifecta we're just going to win every belt in every major rest of the market so it's so undisputed sense that people act like they can't read so read five read five you can read five belts like I said we've done being harmful thank you yeah oh man what a show what a what a show and like I said Wrestle Kingdom was good but just this this show was just like wow but uh guys we'll start with SB3 tell everybody where they can find you well I want to thank Rob for inviting me on and lyric Rob for you know doing the last couple of days I had a lot of fun talking about these
