Today's story is one that I'd like to call, Mary Poppins. (upbeat music) Once upon a time in England, there lived a little boy named Dick and his younger sister Jane. Dick and Jane's mother was very busy most of the time, and so she decided to have a nanny come in and take care of her two children. Dozens of nannies applied for the job. Each were given a few days trial, but all of them turned out to be very harsh and mean. One day, a most kindly lady named Mary Poppins came to take care of them. Mary Poppins was really super. She could put up her umbrella and fly all around. She told wonderful stories, and she always gave them sugar to make their medicine go down. Dick and Jane really loved her. One day, Dick asked Mary Poppins why she was so marvelous, and Mary replied that it was because she was made of sugar and spice and everything nice. That night is Dick and Jane lay in bed. They did a lot of thinking about what she had told them. And just about midnight, they got up, stole into her bedroom, and ate her all up. Thank you, Story Lady. Be listening next time, boys and girls, when the Story Lady tells us the captivating story of the foolish elf who stuck his thumb in a light socket.
