So we're just a few days away from the first round of the NBA draft where the Miami Heat of course pick at number 15. And after tons of internal deliberation and tons of debate and changing my mind a thousand times, I have officially put together my list of the top five candidates that I think the Miami Heat should target in the first round. Now yesterday I put out a podcast and I kind of talked about some needs for the Heat obviously they need size and they need scoring that makes it a bit difficult because most of the scoring is coming from your guards and most of the bigs aren't really great go-to scores. And another thing that makes it difficult is there are so many variables of what this team might actually look like. We hope to see a completely revamped team so does that mean that they trade Tyler Hero or Terry was here or Duncan Robinson which is where a lot of their big money is tied up outside of Jimmy and Bamb of course. So we don't know because if those guys are gone their needs change it's kind of tough to say that's why I'm just going to say my five favorite prospects. Starting with number five, I have Jared McCain is wet. Jared McCain, he's been mocked in a crazy range. I've seen him anywhere from like number 12 all the way to number 25. I've talked about him in a previous video and I know a lot of Heat fans aren't big fans of his because he is a bit of a smaller guard but he's a prospect I really like because he is a straight up bucket and his shot is wet at his last error at his freshman season at Duke. He spent one year there. He played 32 minutes at night. I was 14 points five boards two or six shot 46% from the field but 41% from three on six attempts. He's an elite shooter and on top of that he was an 89% Frito shooter and some comparisons I've seen for him is like a manual quickly, Seth Curry and also Bryn Forbes who us Heat fans obviously hate for obvious reasons but at 20 years old he's a bit of a younger prospect officially measured in at 6'2" with a 6'4" wingspan and he's about 200 pounds. Now he is an elite shooter in the pull-up transition game sort of like Tile Hero. He's also excellent off ball because he didn't really have the ball in his hands too much because Duke of course ran a lot of their offense through Philopowski and they had a lot of nice other guards but he's not just a three-point shooter he's also really efficient in the mid-range although it's on lower volume for now but most importantly the thing that I like best is he is elite at getting to his spots and when a guy can get to his spots that's a sign that he can really be a great scorer on any level and even though he's 6'1" he doesn't just rely on the jumpshot he's the guy that can sort of also play through contact and he's not scared to use his body when getting into the paint because although he's small and I think that's a very very great skill to have especially at his young age when you have a lot of these smaller guards you gotta learn how to use your body to bunk the fenders and get angles to finish at the rim you gotta have a great floater and Jerry McCain does have that as well that's why I think he's he could be a really great scorer in the NBA as well now he doesn't have spectacular defense or anything like that he doesn't have a great handle but he is quick enough and does have you know a high enough motor high enough energy that really makes him very solid on the defensive end so I don't think he's a guy that'll be an absolute turnstile sort of like Tyler here is because he has some great instincts and really great strength so he's not gonna be switchable or nothing like that but I do think he can hold his own guarding a lot of ones and twos and I think he has a great personality as well like he's pretty he's been great on some interviews and he has the TikTok and everything and I just think it'll be a guy that'll fit really nice in the locker room as well so he kind of checks a lot of boxes for me and that's why I'm a big fan of Jerry McCain as my fifth favorite prospect now moving on to my fourth favorite prospect I have a guy that I know a lot of heat fans like and that's Khalil Ware is a straight up beat Ware now Ware also has a pretty broad range in mocks I've seen him taking anywhere from like number 14 to like number 26 he spent two years in college the first at Oregon the second in Indiana and which he played 32 minutes a night averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds with two blocks a night shot 59 percent from the field and as a seven footer shot 43 percent from three now that was only on like just over one attempt so a temporary expectations because he was only a 63 percent free throw shooter which wasn't great but uh he's a guy that has nice form from the outside and I do think he has some potential to become a mouse turner type player maybe a brook Lopez type player those are some comparisons that I've seen along with Jared Allen as well and for obvious reasons I think any three of those guys would be great fits on the Miami heat so I would I would really like Khalil Ware if he could bring those things down to Miami he is a younger player so just turned 20 years old I mentioned he was seven foot but he's got a 75 wingspan weighs 230 pounds so he does have legit size and he uses that size and his elite athleticism to be a great rim protector he is an amazing shot blocker and the heat as is have very little interior presence on the defensive end so I do think that's a hole that he can sort of fill in there and obviously the heat aren't great rebounders either but Khalil Ware is a double-double machine so those things there's really no questions with at all Boletica's hell picking law monster great rebounder all things that the heat need and on top of that looks like he could shoot too I mean he's got really really great form in the shot so obviously that's something you need from your big position considering Jimmy and BAM aren't known as three point shooters yet I'm still waiting to see if BAM expounds expands upon that three point shot that he saw him last year but even if he does or doesn't Khalil Ware is a guy that I think could play next to BAM pretty well now if you're watching this and you're saying hey this guy could rebound block saw shoot the three seven foot why the hell is he your fourth favorite prospect and not number one well that's because there's been a lot of rumors about his lack of a motor and lack of energy and truthfully he really doesn't seem like a heap culture guy I've read that he lets his offense affect his defense sometimes he takes like entire halves off and that's just not like not something I like to see in the heat system because one thing I like about the heat is a lot of times they go after guys because of their mentality and they know that when guys have a strong work ethic that's how they turn them into a great player if you have all the talent but you don't want to work hard there's not much you can do it there do there and I think it really limits you know their potential a lot that being said I'm just reading rumors the heat have actually interviewed him I'm sure so if the heat do draft him I would be very very excited because it means they don't feel like there's a lot of concerns with his motor and if that's the case they think they can develop him and he has all the tools just to be an amazing player right now and in the future but that's why he's my fourth favorite prospect my third favorite prospect is the sniper out of Colorado Tristan de Silva is a hyper Tristan de Silva now he's a guy that I've seen ranked anywhere from like 16 to 27 he is an older prospect just turned 23 years old after spending four seasons in Colorado and in his senior season he played 34 minutes a night average 16 and 5 on 49 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from three in each of his final two seasons and that's on four and five attempts respectively 84 percent free throw shooter so just lethal when it comes to letting that bang fly I've seen some comparisons as Kyle Kuzma Kyle Anderson now I like I would like both those players on the heat obviously Kyle Anderson is not as good as the shooter as Kuzma or Tristan de Silva but he is very good defensively and also a very versatile player so if that's something de Silva can bring to the table I would really really like him a lot especially considering he measured in a little over six eight with a six ten wingspan and almost 220 pounds so he is a guy that has legit real-sized him projects to be kind of a you know stretch four starting power four next to bam I think he'd be pretty good in that role the only reason I have some hesitancy there is because Nicole Yoavich obviously was the starting four last year and he finished the season pretty pretty strong I only think he's gonna get better and therefore not do anything to lose that spot so the only reason I don't have Tristan de Silva higher is because I do think he'll be sort of a bench slash role player for quite some time considering Yoavich is even younger than him but I do think de Silva has all the capabilities just to be an elite role player right now obviously he's an excellent shooter he shot 62 percent from three on handoffs 42 percent from three on screens 41 percent on catch and shoot 39 off the dribble so he can score from three in all of these different aspects and that's something that he can bring to the table right now but he's not just a one-way player he's a guy that also has a very high Q on defense he has the foot speed that's good enough to be a relatively switchable defender be good on ball be good off ball he's not an elite athlete or anything like that but he is a guy that can hold his own on the defensive end and he brings that with all the incredible shooting stuff that sounds like a wrong player that really any team can use especially the mom heat because he can't contribute right now now my second favorite prospect is let me tell y'all a secret come here go on home's the second might be my favorite player in this draft i'm not gonna lie to you home's the second who i've seen ranked a little bit lower than some of these other guys he's really in the early to late 20s range he spent three years that day in and in his junior season there he played 33 minutes a night and i was 20 points nine rebounds three assists 54 percent from the field and 39 percent from three that's on two and a half attempts a night and he shot 71 percent from the free throw line on nine attempts a night yes nine attempts a night the reason i'm you know emphasizing these shooting splits so much is because he is a six nine player with a seven one wingspan weighing 236 pounds so the boy got legit size to him as well putting up real shooting numbers again two and a half three point attempts a game the form is looking beautiful has great art followed through elbow win all that stuff he left to see does all of that while getting to the free throw line nine times converting at a high rate and getting two blocks a game he is just an absolutely elite shot blocker as well similar to kalil where except he also seems to be a more reliable shooter at least with the bigger sample size i'm not as big kalil where was a true seven footer officially at the combine to run homes measured in at six nine but again he does have a little bit of a bigger wingspan being seven one so he is a guy that i think could play center in the NBA right now some comparisons i've seen is jaylin smith the young kid from the the pacers who i really liked coming to lee he hasn't done much though but he was sort of looked as a potential you know shot blocker also good stretch the floor stretch five type of guy but another comparison i've seen that i love is nazirid and i think for obvious reasons we all know how great nazirid would be out of mind heat if you know if they could have got him you know he was undrafted by the way y'all didn't know which pains me because the heat are the kings of finding the undrafted gems and they couldn't get nazirid that part that part kind of sucks but anyways doron homes he's elite at the pick and roll and the pick and pop because of his athleticism and his shooting of course he converted 60 percent of his field goals at the rent or excuse me 60 percent of his shots were at the rim so you know let let me not just make you think he's a stretch five he's the guy that can score inside but of those 60 percent of his shots that came at the rim he converted at a 67 percent clip so he's an elite finisher inside has great hands and i think that's very important from the big man position he's not a guy that has you know great post footwork or anything like that but it's 2025 like nobody posting up no more other than kamehameha kha's junior but anyways he is good enough in the post to sort of punish mismatches so they're not just going to be able to so you know opposing teams can't just hide their worst defend on him because he will take advantage of them and as far as defensively he's a great switchy defender because he has the foot speed and the size he's great in the pick and roll i love what the ringer gave their you know they gave like a one-word sentence to describe him and they said he's a throwback big who can block shots and finish slobs with the benefit of modern switchability that sounds exactly what the mind heat needs because they need a throwback big who is big for the sake of being big meaning he could rebound and block shots but in this modern system in the way spulsure likes to switch his defenders and the way the heat needs facing that's also what the ronholm provides great shot blocker he needs she should cut down on his turnovers a little bit i think he had like a two to two or i guess that's one to one assisted turnover ratio but again he's not going to be a guy that has the ball in his hands a ton with the mind of heat but he will be a play finisher for a lot of our guards and of course bring all the things of the defensive end that we just love and for that reason the ronhomes is my second favorite prospect in the nba draft now my first favorite prospect that i want the mama heat to get in this draft is azalea collier is a hank azalea collier who is an absolute tank and he also has a very wide range of you know where he could be drafted as do the rest of these guys just because it's so it's such an up in the air draft i've seen azalea collier go anywhere from like 10 to like 20 pretty much but i am a big fan of him coming out of usc where he played 30 minutes and nights in one season scored 16 points per game got your forces finished 41% of his field goals and only 34% from three that was on three attempts a game that sort of his biggest you know concern is is came he shoot because 34% isn't bad it's not as bad as some of the guys like nicole the toepids charan holland but it's also not the great either and he did shoot six free throw attempts a game and only knocked those down at 67% but i do think he has potential to become one of these guys that i've seen comparisons for like jeff teague eric ledso colin sexton uh tyreek evans and those guys are i think exactly someone that the moment he could use he's still young so he doesn't quite fit the the older prospect ideology that i like he's only 19 years old he'll turn 20 in october though and he officially measured in at 6-3 with a 6-5 wingspan and was only listed at 204 so he's not super big either and again i every time i've talked about azale cold you're over the last month i mentioned how hypocritical i sound because you know he is young they're shooting concerns all he's kind of small all these things that i typically don't like in a prospect but i just really really believe in his potential because of things such as his frame although he is a little bit shorter he is jacked sort of like you know we said eric bledso he has the muscular frame to get into the paint at will that is what he's elitat and when he gets into paint he could body through guys or he has the craftiness to finish with all kinds of circus lambs and that is a very incredible skill to have at his young age and the heat needs someone that can get into the paint because outside of jimmy butler and i guess terry rosier they really don't have nobody to provide rim pressure or dribble penetration and that is something that he is very very good at he's unstoppable downhill he picks up the pace and he were one of the slowest teams in the league last year he fixes that as well and he also we talked about his finishing in the paint he's a very good facilitator once you get into the paint also he's a guy that could sort of you know find the shooters on the outside he could find your dunk in robison he could find your bam out of bio if he continues to spot up from the from the corner in three and you don't get a lot of those great looks without dribble penetration and that's something that azale colier does provide and i know there's the shooting concerns his form is inconsistent but at times it looks well it's not as bad as like i've seen debon car or my opinion definitely not as bad as nicole tophitch who sort of alligator arms it and uh azale colier did shoot 37 percent from three off catching shoots and that's probably where the primary of his three-point looks would come from so i do think that there is a lot of potential there he is a below the rim guy only had six dunks last season so he's not super athletic or anything like that but he does have good enough foot speed laterally and of course the frame and size to be an elite defender and that is the part i mean not maybe not the main reason but part of the reason i am so high on him because i think he could score an NBA right now but i do think he has the potential to be an absolute hound dog on defense and that's something that in mind he could obviously desperately use so that's why azale colier is my favorite prospect i guess i can name some honorable mentions you know it's a good transition to talk about debon carter who is known for his hound dog defense already but his shooting concerns me a little bit more than azale colier i know debon carter shot good his last season of college but it was a smaller sample size compared to his previous three seasons that he spent at uh where is he at providence i think i there's some uh a lot to like about him too you know the the son of antony carter so he has that he culture in him he's an elite rebounder for his size although he is very small he's only 6-3 but i just for one it seems like he'll actually be gone before the heat get there because he's been flying up the ranks a lot of them have him top 10 now but the shooting concerns are just too much for me to have him higher than some of these other guys on the list uh i also like eve missy who's probably my third favorite big in the draft behind ronhomes and colial wear he's basically a clink of pellum mole to a t and if the heat do go for size i want a guy that's an elite defensive player that way when bam is on the perimeter guarding guards how he does you have someone that could sort of still be in the paint to contest the bigs rebound and eve missy is elite at that now there's two guys who i think could potentially falter the heat and if they do you kind of have to take them one of them is rob dillingham i have a lot of concerns because of the size and everything like that but he's just too good in offense as a player to pass up on and the other one is dalton connect that is my favorite pick in the draft if we're you know saying anyone at all i like him the best i think he's a big time player who makes big time plays and big time games is as elite as it comes when shooting the ball i just don't think he'll be around at 15 at all he's mostly ranked around 10 so there's a chance if some guys like zakidi you know go higher and connect falls i just don't think he'll make it there but anyways that's all i got to say for this video so let me know what do y'all think of my list do you like my top five and if not who would just sub out who's your favorite prospects let me know down below i will be
