With words of radiance, now here is your host, Dr. Munson. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Troy. What is life like? It's an interesting question. And you might be like, I don't understand. Are you asking? And you might ask 100 people, what's life like? And they might tell you, it's crappy. It's horrible. It's scary. It's delightful. It's pleasant. It's easy. Oh, it's hard. But it's awful. It's so distracting. It's so belittling. We'll get so many different ideas of what life is like. And of course, if we ask a couple of kids that are maybe 7 or 8 or 9, they might get, it's fun. It's awesome. It's horrible. We get all of these weird kinds of little ideas. And yet, the more people we ask, the more variations on what life we would get. And yet, the whole purpose is to recognize that, why? Why is there so many answers? Now, we might think that life is helpless. Life is tedious. Life is boring. Life is pathetic. Life is meaningless. And of course, we would figure out, very quickly, that those that maybe are in a higher state of consciousness or love energy, let's call, that they just think more on the bright side and less on the negative side, that they might come out with a lot more things that are positive about life. And yet, we might see some people that are quite wealthy that might look at other people and say, I get things done. Life is about doing. Life is being. Life is taking control and fixing your eyes on what you want and accomplishing your dreams and your goals and blah, blah, blah. At least, I'm not one of these bums that lay in the street or panhandle for money or whatever. And we might ask one of them, and they might just gently say, life is beautifully elegant in all of its forms. And we'd be like, whoa, I need to go live on the street a little bit and try to figure out what you just figured out. And so life is what you make of it. And whatever you make of it, you will be right. Because you're the one that is making the decision on what you perceive to focus on within life. Yet life is, and there we should all stop. Life just is. It is in all of its facets, exactly as it is. Let's stop labeling it. It is why one of the things that I will first teach clients, if they are willing or open, is that as they look around, begin to notice that everything you see, you give it all the meaning it has to you. That is more true than you could ever imagine. It is also bent on the beginning process of alleviating your mind's desire to constantly classify, identify everything. The ego is constantly seeing everything as threats because the brain understands that its time is short. It does not move on. Now, the mind of Christ that is everyone, including you, that is eternal, and that you are and will be forever, connected to every single person on the planet, because they're all part of that one mind that has never left the sight or the side of God. So with that understanding, we have to then begin to look at the flesh and all of its desires as less than. And then we begin to realize one of the smartest, richest men on the planet of all time was very apt in saying that all of life is meaningless. Life is vanity. And of course, his meaning in that is that it is the personal ideas of the limited intellect of the brain, the vainness of each individual of what they think and what they try to accomplish. I really like making wine, so I'm going to be a grape grower. I really like building things, so I'm going to be a furniture maker. I really like gardening, so I'm going to be a produce salesman. I'm really like gold, so I'm going to be a prospector. We all have these ideas about what is awesome, or what is great, or what is the best, or what is ideal. And yet all of it is vanity. It is our own ideas. And we tend to take up these ideas as our own. Now, stay tuned, there is coming a podcast where I'm going to talk about the railroad system and how we are a lot like a railroad system. And here is not the time, but for a bit better understanding about what's really happening behind the scenes, so to speak, in the land of Oz, you being the front aspect. And when you peek behind the curtain of the ego and look at what's really going on, that's the railroad podcast, so do stay tuned for that one. But this one, we want to get into this idea that this acceptance of, you know what? Everything I see, I really do give it all the meaning that it has to me, not all the meaning that it has to everyone, but only to myself. I'm constantly doing what I think is best in my little intellect, and I'm making decisions and judgments constantly about everything. A little bit of awareness in this particular aspect goes a very long way. And why would we do that? So that we can grow the amount of peace and joy and love and happiness in our lives. When we begin to recognize that we're the ones doing it all to ourselves, we begin to do that thing that most people have heard and that many try to tell us to do, but don't really give us a lot of indication on how. And that is, don't take yourself too damn seriously. And the reason that we shouldn't take ourselves so damn seriously is because with our limited understanding of our own vantage point is such a minute minuscule perception of what's really going on in the world and the planet, that we can't even begin to have enough knowledge to really understand fully everything. But there is one deep within us that does understand at all and is gently guiding us along that way so that we get what we want. Now, just a quick note on what you want. As you move down this road of desire, especially if you're a younger person, you'll be asked all kinds of wild things by adults. What are you going to do with your life? What do you think you want to do? Oh my gosh, that's really fascinating, interesting. That's great. And then four years later of doing whatever it is you're doing, if you keep your child like, oh, countenance, you might say, you know what, I think I'm done doing that. Think I want to do something completely different. But as adults, we start to get more and more ingrained in this life that we think we've chosen and now it makes it really difficult to choose and do something different. Well, I really don't want to be an accountant anymore. I want to be a pot maker. I want to throw clay all day. Well, my goodness, go do it. Stop doing what you don't want and go change. Who cares if you don't make money? Now, if you come crying to me because you're in the poorhouse because you're making pots, then there's other issues for you to figure out that there's a belief in there that says, hey, I would really like to be poor too. Let's deal with all of that as well. Let's become most enamored with our thinking process of our own brain and let's start cleaning it up. Let's look at every thought that runs through our head and say, do you belong here or don't you? It does take a bit of work in the beginning, but it will be the most awesome work you could ever do. And so begin there first. Look around and realize that you truly do give everything you see, all the meaning it has. And then you begin to realize that your perspective of everything is not actually accurate. Though you might believe it is, you've begun already to take yourself far less seriously. And that is what we call humility. When you don't believe that you actually do know everything that's going on, and you're just okay to watch people around you figure it out or not figure it out, or ask you for advice and you give a word here or a word there, or maybe not at all, because you find yourself more directed and less opinionated. Until next time, I'm Dr. Troy, and remember, you have nothing to do, only something to see.
