Welcome to the Re-Roll Gaming Podcast, where I, Tanner Prentice, guide five of my closest friends through an original adventure playing the tabletop role-playing game, Pathfinder's Second Edition. In the World of Rail, five strangers brought together a resistance under the shadow of the Blackery Empire. Until everything changed. A villain and former lover named Hogoth fractured the plains of existence, ushering in an endless night and an era of undeath, all in the name of an undying dragon, Zarox. Now, the fate of rail is left to these five adventures. My name is Ayla, and I play Bo-Cantrell, a fallen Asmar and cleric. With Cosmios, the God of Fate as my deity. Hi, my name is Zane, and I play Cinder Lafayette, the halfling investigator with a dicey past. My name is Octavia, and I play Starlet Moonbow, Star, as she's better known by her companions, is on a mission to save her true love, Faya, from the Maiden of Spiders. Hi, my name is Latara, and I play Kiaran Nimone, the sadistic, the dolel champion of Emmon, who yearns for that redemption that is so far out of her reach. I'm Brendan Geyer, and I am Frost, your new favorite cobalt bot, Berian, honor bound to protect and serve Grass Party, and oath bound to finish its mission. These five heroes are the last best hope to save Rell, but can they overcome this darkness that spreads under the shattered sky? Find out now on the re-roll gaming podcast. Alright, welcome back to the re-roll gaming podcast. I believe I have a good icebreaker for us today, which I may have already asked, but good time to check back in. You know how professional athletes have a song to come out to? What song would be your character's song? Which one, Cinder Flint? Your current character, so Cinder, Frost, Kiaran, Shadow, but obviously, or not Shadow, whatever your character's name is. Starlet. That's a good question, I have to think about that for a second. Yeah, that's a hard one to just like, no. Sea shanty. You gotta get in this morning on me. At the same time. Well, I only have a good icebreaker once every 100 episodes. You know what we do? Instead, we can talk about the game. We'll do, because I'm playing, take me to church. That's, we'll know which song we don't have time for church. Sure, chips. I don't know. I'm drawing a fucking blank right now. I can't think of, like, I don't think I've ever listened to a single song in my entire life. I feel like Frost would just have like, do a host or so. Do frost. Zombie by crampers, because it's done dead and everything. We're like, Nora Jones or Evanescence fits, but Bo pretty good. I think that's pretty good. That is pretty good. Sex tape by Deftones. Did you already give her a lick mat? Yeah, I have it over here. You should do it now, because she's squeaking up a storm. Can we get some ASMR? Like, we mike the dog licking it. Mike the dog. That was the dog. That was the dog. God, she looks so big. She's fucking massive. All right. Well, that was one and a half good answers from you guys. Well, what about one of your main NPCs? Do I have it? What's crunch? What's crunch's theme song? Oh, there we go. What's crunch's theme song? Jelly time. I feel like it'd be something chaotic like that. Yeah, exactly. Or it'd be like a Disney song with him like pining over Kiara or something. It's actually like a really obscure Mozart piece. It'd be like the, like, I don't know, that song's called. He's like, I will walk 500 miles. Because he sounds like walking around and going along the senses. I need that whole song in his voice, Tenerko. I don't even remember his voice. I live like 500 miles. That's, yeah, that's exactly. That's pretty close. That's it. All right. Well, since we were able to articulate such thoughtful and coherent answers, why don't we go ahead and move on to the adventure? Where we last left off, you all had, for lack of a better term, assaulted and cornered, a dull L-servant, a field worker named Benjin. After a bit of rough interrogation from Cinder, as well as some intimidation from Kiara and her sister, Cindra, you were able to get a little bit of information about the spiraling fields that you guys currently reside right on the outskirts of the city of Nikatov. Namely, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of living, dull L-like servants or like slaves working in these fields anymore, right? As far as you can tell, but you are on the outer reaches of the spiraling fields, they stretch for probably a couple of miles before the city. What are you guys doing? Had we rested already or were we resting in this house? I believe where you last left off, you were in the house, Frost had broken in the door, and Frost and Bow were floating the idea of assisting this servant and hitting his quota of spider silk. Yeah, that's right. What was the worker's response to my last line last time, because I didn't get to hear it? Oh, that's right, you were cutting out. He essentially let you know that there was no place safe in Nikatov. I think that was, but his response was generally positive to having his work supplemented by your efforts. Okay, yeah, I think I'll just not pick up his basket. Bow, did you want to help as well? Uh, yeah. Okay, so what skill are you using to definitely navigate these sort of walls of dead spider silk that are occupied by these dog-sized spiders? Probably, uh, is Cinder staying here or going out too? Cinder's gonna stay with the Benjin. Uh, Kearnall kind of glance at Cinder and, um, Cinder, it'd be like, "Can I trust you alone with him?" Sure. Does that how Cinder says it? She probably says a little more tactfully than that. Like Cinder and Cinder just exchanging like sideways glances at each other. Like who's gonna, who's gonna lie? That's, uh, like, spy. Twenty-five on my perception. Do I, do I think you're lying to me? No, uh, yeah, Cinder's the actual response would just be to say to Kearn, um, Kearn death is not a fate that I wish on this individual. I won't do anything drastic while you're gone. If it makes you feel better, Cinder, I could kill the halfling if she tries to do anything. That is true. She could do that. I'll, uh, trust you to protect the elf, Cinder. She draws her blade and she says, "I will do what I must." Just kidding, obviously. Well, I, does she say something not necessarily killed, but is she saying something like she'll make it happen? She just did, yeah, she just did that. She would, uh, kill Cinder for you if you wanted. It's a half-chest. For a halfling. Maybe, maybe don't kill her, but make sure she doesn't kill him either. Or hurt him too badly. Well, to miss trust going about. We're talking about the prisoner. And then the guy that we've captured. Cinder's shoulder and also go help the others. Don't take it personally. Halfling it runs in the family. All right, so Kiaran, Bo, and Frost, what checks would you like to make in order to assist Benjian in achieving his quota? Ah, I'm gonna go with, uh, athletics. It's the obvious choice. Okay, go, Kiaran, my hammer, my, uh, my axe. Use it to scare off spiders. Would you like to do athletics or intimidation in that scenario? No, athletics, athletics, okay, yeah. What about you, Bo? Uh, I'm gonna use survival. Okay, and how about you, Kiaran? I'll use athletics as well to try to just do it fast enough. Okay, uh, all of you guys give me your respective skill checks. 37, 31, 29. With ease, you all are able to fill his quota within the hour. Having no trouble avoiding these surprisingly quick, silvery spiders. Meanwhile, while this hour passes in this abandoned farmhouse, Cinder, Cindra, and Starlet Moonbow, what are you doing? Waiting for the others to rejoin you? Oh, yeah, Star's in there. She would have totally been okay leaving. You'd come back and send her to me like Star, Star-Kilder, or kill them. You looked at me wrong. Yeah. I tried to smell my hair, and I didn't like it. That's a bold move for a prisoner. Okay, I have a quick side now. You had it coming, I actually did that. Amen, yeah. I had a dream that one of my co-workers, like this skinny little like fucking red-haired guy, had a dream that he smelled my hair after I got chased out of the bathroom. And I was like, "Hey, dude, like you're really not helping the situation. I'm already freaked out." And then I told him that at work the next day, and we all just made fun of them for being a hair sniffer. It was really good. We remember a very loving and-- The hostile work environment. I had my job. It's so good. Anyways, I think, yeah, Star probably would have stayed behind, just for extra guarding purposes or whatever. Okay, are you guys wishing to accomplish anything, or just standing completely still in the center of a room? Star is going to teach him how to get a number one victory royale on Fortnite. And how to floss, like not with your teeth, like the dance. Maybe I hit the L-dance. The kids even know what flossing your teeth is anymore compared to like Fortnite dancing. Nope. I'm in tune. I can't tell you guys how much I hate this joke. Yeah, it's not a joke, team. It's yeah, this is real life, buddy. I don't like that either. Fortnite, Fortnite, Fortnite, Fortnite universe, and our universe for D&D. They are one and the same. Imagine if Fortnite was like, "We want to make care of your skins for the re-roll gaming fight." That'd be so sick. I can't wait. Make no mistake, I would do it. Fortnite, if you're hearing this? Yeah, again, we're willing to sell out immediately at any given moment. It's fine. Ten-oh, right. No, no, no, no, no, no. Each. Cinder would be taking this time to talk to Benjyn. Benjyn is-- did you guys bind him or just-- he's got a bullshit. He's not going anywhere. That's true. I can't see him. He didn't get mad at me. Cinder just turned around. Well, I mean-- Cinder shoots him in the way again. In the other leg, yeah. Sorry, we're short. Cinder maybe would have like, appended that earlier statement to if like, "We're not going to kill him." It would be like, "Yeah, like, if he doesn't give us a reason to and give him like a stern look." Mean look. Cinder uses mean look. How effective is it? Pretty effective. Benjyn sits just in the corner of the room. Cross-legged head down, not making eye contact with any of you. So yeah, Cinder will maybe from across the room after we've taken some time and like really check the perimeter of this house and stuff. Like, lean up against a, you know, wall, just kind of like eyeing him and start peeling an apple with her dagger and approach him. This old Benjyn, this last time you had real food. I get my weekly rations beginning of the week when they come collect quota. And he's staring at your apple as you're peeling it with this dagger sliding off of it. It's red skin sort of twisting in a twirl as you use your thumb to take a juicy chunk off. Then Cinder will just pop that chunk in her mouth and take a big crunchy bite. Oh, God. What is that I've never seen before? Exactly. It pulls out a cheesy gritty to cry. You know, the majesty of the surface world. If I eat that, I would die. It might send you into a comma at the very least. They weren't lucky. Yeah. Do you have anybody down here that you care about? We are not permitted such things. That's not a real answer. I told you earlier, I'm the last left alive here. Those around me were the only souls I knew, at least for the last couple decades. We, the males of the dole have different roles. Depending on our functionality, my genes weren't seen as strong enough to be any sort of concubine. I have no partner. All I know is the field. I guess these spiders are the closest thing I have to a friend now. I think there may be more companionship in your situation than you think. The miles that these fields encompass, there has to be. Dozens, if not hundreds, more just like you. Maybe. But for all of those just like me, there are so many just like her and his eyes shoot back over to Syndra. And Syndra is peering out of this broken hole that is a bit high up. I imagine you guys are maybe on the second floor to get a good advantage. She's just looking out at the field, seeing Frost and Kia and sprinting from wall of spider, so can wall of spider, so-called bow. Very carefully avoids the path of some spiders and takes his time together. Bow is just like under his breath. It's just like, I knew I could do it. Instead of like getting straight stuck in it, like in Williams. Oh, right. Yeah. Proved himself. These people who have shackled you and everyone like you, who've put you out to work in these spider-infested fields, they. They were only doing that because you had a use and that usefulness is quickly running out. The finding that your job can be done much more efficiently by reanimated corpses. You really think that they. You really think they have any interest in keeping you around anymore? Do you really think that? Do you really think that if you just disappeared now, that they'd really come looking for you? I know you've spent your whole life terrified and being told over and over what might happen if you disobey them. But these times are changing, Benjian. If there was an opportunity for you and those like you, all your unknown brothers, so to speak, that work these same fields the same way as you. Well, if there was ever a time for you to go and find something else, something better to do with your life. Well, I would think that time is right now. Give me a diplomacy check. Uki-duki. Oh, fuck, 36. Benjian doesn't respond to you. However, his eyes slide from left and right as if he's weighing options he hasn't even thought about before. His pale hand runs from his forehead down to his cheek. Can Star kind of cut in here a little bit? I think Star sort of walks towards him and sort of plops down next to him. And she'll lean in a little bit. And she's not. She's saying this quiet er, just only have chance that what's her face isn't already listening. It doesn't give her a reason to, because I don't think Star trust her a whole lot necessarily still. But it doesn't send her, right? That's her name? Yep. Yeah. But she'll kind of lean like over towards some of it and say, you know, long before we made our way down here, there was a settlement of sorts that we helped establish. From what I heard or from what I hear in recent times anyway, it's, well, it's thriving. There's people, there's food, there's acceptance, there's freedom, and there's protection. I won't lie to you, getting there won't be easy. You have to travel above ground and go back through the, where did we go through? What are those mountain ranges called? Grabnocks. And you have to make your way back through the crab knocks. But if you can, there's a safe haven waiting for you. All you have to do is mention one of us by name. I'll let you in. And what's are your names? Oh, I'm not telling you that. Fuck you. You've, it was her idea. I'm Cinder. Cinder's name means nothing to these people. No, she shows up and is like, Cinder set me and gets arrested. No, yeah. Star is a, sorry, I'll actually. Sorry. I forget that not all of my companions have been with me from the beginning. But you son of a bitch that is college moonbo. How dare you slap him. Yeah, the stars gonna like put Cinder in an ad look. Shut the fuck up. I love you so much. I forgot Cinder's a starlet span. Amen. Uh, okay. Anyways, what she'll say. Well, you can use my name, starlet moonbo. Man, that's been quite a while since we've been back there. But. It's a good place to be. We left it in good hands. What's gonna. What is this place called? The resistance. Yeah, we'd wear really good designation. Well, we just know it's outside Brambleton. Yeah, actually, no, didn't they take over Brambleton? I don't think Brambleton really exists anymore, does it? No, they were back. New Brambleton. Still imagine if we if we send him to the burned down village of Brambleton and he's looking for somebody like they're going to find him before he finds them. All you have to do is go down the river blood river. Scale up a hundred foot feet of cliffside. Convince a dwarf. That's easy. That's maybe timeless and eternal to let you in their completely closed city. Be escorted to the front. Walk through the crab knocks, avoid the ice dragon and zombie armies, and then just kind of look around until you find the resistance. The armor does know an exit into the shadowed force with the dragon if that's easier. There's a dragon both ways, might as well. Well, still, it's either that or die here. Like a dog, so, you know. Well, on top of that, though, we, I mean, this dude is live down here. Like there might be other exit. Is this a situation where I got a good way to kind of cap this off? Well, is this a situation where I could have an animal messenger go from us to them and lead him or something? You were not here for this conversation. I know, but if, you know, I got back and we talked about it. I mean, here, let me try and wrap this part up and we can. We can. I got a good way to ambiguously close off this scene, too, if you want. Yeah, you can do the ending. Let me just get in a couple more words. Sure. So basically start. It's like, it's, it will be quite the trek to be completely honest with you. I believe once the rest of our group gets back, we may be able to figure out some way to help guide you more so. We still have things we must complete in this realm, unfortunately. So we cannot take you there ourselves, but. Uh, we'll figure it out. To answer your question, Bo, animal messenger, uh, the spell ends after the message is delivered or after 24 hours. So unfortunately, you know, it definitely take way longer than a day to get there. I mean, we could just write him a note, too. Like. He's a cool star. One is 69. Yeah. Give him my bus pass. Is this one of those like middle school S's? Showed him how to make a crunch wrap. Crunch wrap. Supreme. Supreme. At this point. Oblast, my bad. At this point. In walks frost, bow, and keyarin. There are respective hands or baskets. Rather, we'll say you were able to find some of these mundane woven baskets are filled with spider silk. But send her wanting to finish them off before we walk back in. Yeah, I mean, I think this kind of sets it up pretty well. Um, yeah, she'll kind of at the. At this point, just look at him and say. The journey out of here. It might be the most difficult thing you ever do in your life. I'm not going to lie to you. And I'm not saying that this world will permit you. Or anybody else in this field to take up arms against those who have done you harm. It's cruel. It doesn't work that way. The systems in place generally keep us right where they want us. But. When you can't turn and fight. You can walk away. Find your own battles on your own terms. Because this world might be cruel and unforgiving, but. There's always good in it for those that are willing to fight for it. There are things worth fighting for. And she'll kind of stand up and toss in the rest of the apple. He hesitates for a moment. But. His eyes. Dancing from you to syndra to key earn. Back to the apple. But after a few seconds impulse takes hold and he dives for it. Eating it frantically. He clearly was very hungry. Eating an apple frantically sounds hilarious. It is quite funny. If it wasn't so sad. I also don't know if he's the if he's ever had anything like this before. Syndra turns you on and she says. We should rest. This city is. Close. It should be at your full abilities and. Completely prepared for what awaits you. But I must warn you. If you wish to free every slave and nikotov you will be here for a very long time. Did you get the info you wanted, Syndra? You're right. I think I got everything that he was able to tell us. Which. Wasn't much. Did I hear he's considering leaving? She looks down. To the pile of spider silk and kind of like over to him. Past her shoulder and says. That's up to him at this point. It does seem like though at this point. From what he's told me. There's more undead in these fields. Than anything else. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The undead won't bother you. If you. Play the part. Of dolol. Okay. Um. Yeah, I think maybe like as uh we're getting settled down to take a rest. Um. If you guys want to if anybody else wants to be involved in this too. That's fine, but like uh. It's under what kind of like shove all the spider soap like over to him. And just say. This should keep you masses happy for the next couple of weeks I'd wager. But this is the time that you have to decide. Is this what you want? Or does the world have more in store that you've mentioned? Than just toiling away until you die. He looks down at the spider silk and back to you. Give me a blade. And some food. I will leave in the morning. Karen's gonna. Oh yeah, you got. She's just gonna pull syndrome off to the side. Oh, you're right. Kind of out of reach everyone. Yeah, it just pushes her really hard. Oh god. Sister, could he stay safe with you while we're in the city? No, I'm not going to attach myself to the fate of. This one. Oh, not up to the challenge, huh? You think you're so fucking clever. Nah, she didn't say that. Karen, I think it's best if he leaves immediately if he wishes to do so. I have enough to worry about returning to the city without anything to show for it. I had a very specific mission. Quite frankly, I might bring down the fury of House Nemoneon, his head. So you've decided not to take my offer? I'm still debating. I'll leave you to it and she'll walk back over. I don't know if Star was doing something in that time. I think Star kind of sat down with Bo and I'm like rummaging through my stuff and probably also rummaging through Bo's stuff. Oh, Bo's like, what do you stop? And I was like, and that's like this and that's my note, but like pointing out every single thing. Look at your little heart on that right there. It's right there. Wait, didn't even look at my petals. This one has a key in it. Benjamin is watching, like, as if it was two aliens in front of him. No, but Star will, like, pull out. I assume we had a dagger or two that we could part with. As well as maybe a couple rations, but she also, she said, Bo, would you mind? Well, we have to try and draw him some sort of map or guide so he can get back to the resistance over near Brambleton. I'm not sure if they're calling it something different these days, but I just, if I know there's a slim chance that he'll actually make it there, but I'd like to prepare him as best as we can. Bo will definitely try to give it a shot. You probably would give me a crafting check. I mean, Bo, I haven't talked about this in a while, but Bo does have like a journal that he's been kind of just documenting things here and there and like has little like leaves and little flowers and like hair and like just like animal fur and things like taped in there and like discoveries and just anything that to work back and in his own kind of studies, not knowing that anything will come with it of it, but just a way to kind of track every, like, his journey. So maybe using kind of that and he's going to try to do that. Yeah. Okay, give me a crafting check. Star as you pull out a dagger to give to him. Cindra walks up and says, wait, she peers over at you. Look at Zane in his underwear. Somebody give him a wedgie. Put your fucking pants on. I'm going to have whoever, whichever one of us is HR are going to talk to. It's 90 degrees. You know, I know it's not my head. Iota of pant. I'm pretty sure LaTara is technically HR. And I only say this because when LaTara joined the groups, Zane stopped keeping his microphone, I'm only pissed. That's not true. I've shared that with everybody. It's a bonding experience. Of course, if there's a person who I'm less familiar with, that's how we're going to get on the same page. Cindra shoots a glance at you here. And before pulling out this plus one striking curved elven blade and presenting it to Benjamin. Now we understand you haven't had much training with a blade. So be very careful. This is likely to take your own head off more than somebody else's. But presenting this in a violent situation. Presenting this in a violent situation alone may save your life. Well, I'm going to show you my intimidating, clear look. Ah, please. First you want to make your face look like a lizard. I've got like 10 pieces of chalk if you want one. It's pretty tasty, especially if you have something up such a tummy. All right. Actually, though, I did have something I wanted to do. With any map or anything like that. I wanted to spend at least maybe an hour or so coming up with like a cipher key for him. So if the map is captured, nobody can find the resistance with it. Yeah, I was going to decrypt the cartographical info, I guess. I'm going to have you give me either a society or deception check to a, well, no, just a society or deception check. But what did you get for your crafting check? I only got 20. Okay, you think, especially how far you've come, this map is rudimentary and not to scale, but will likely lead him in the correct direction. Okay, I didn't have a real role there, re-reroll that. I think Karen will also mark on your map as you're doing it. The exit that she is familiar with. Okay. Because that might be easier to get out of than the dwarf place. Yeah, I don't really have a good crafting, but I don't know, like if there's any way I can like aid in for something, either the, I mean, the cypher's probably the most. I feel like this could be like a group activity because it's like, different people remember different specific things about different areas that might be helpful. I would argue only you and Star even know where the alchemy lab is. Yeah, I'm just in like a picture over the top of whatever you put down, who? Karen knows too. Did Karen, was Karen there? Yeah, we met in the forest and then went to the alchemy lab. Met in the river, looked all the way back to it. Yeah. Okay. I mean, yeah, I don't know. You could do like all three of us if we pass side off like on whatever scale that you have, then it's pretty good or it's pretty bad. I mean, that'd be up to you though. I would say as it stands, this is probably about as good as this map's going to get. What did you get for your cypher check there? That'd be a 29. 29, okay. So you spend a little bit of time with this dolel and explain the key to him. Probably actually, I know we've kind of hand wave this, but probably using kiaran center to translate since I don't think you speak under common. Oh yeah, probably so. Which that brings me to a very good point. I know we are coming up on the infiltration into the city where you all have potions of disguise, but who actually speaks under common or elven? Yeah, I do. Oh, speaks elven. Oh, speaks elven. Cinder speaks under common. I think I speak both. Okay. Kiaran, you speak under common? Yeah, I speak both. Okay. So star and frass. This is something to keep in mind because you don't speak either native language of the city. Yeah, yeah, seems like I've got great about what my disguise is. Yeah. Wait, hold on. I want to clarify again. Sackbroth is under common, right? Yes. Okay. Cause I got panic for a second. I'm like, wait, have I not spoken under common this entire time? And I thought it that I did. But no, yeah, I speak Sackbroth. With Benjin now being armed, having a map leading him to the alchemy lab, as well as a cipher to keep the location of your base safe. Before the end of the evening, he slides this spider silk to all of you. We'll say it to you specifically, Cinder, since you have had the most interaction. And he says, when you get into the city, the currency is spools of the spider silk. As of now, this is unrefined and worth about half as much as it would be spooled. However, this is a decent chunk of wealth. I'm smart enough to figure most of you for outsiders. This might be a boon in your travels. Ah, spider silk. Well, he was saying it to you, Cinder, so I was waiting. Yeah, okay. I thought he was addressing the group. Cinder will pick one up and kind of like turn it over in her hand and say, it's valuable down here. I can't imagine what it might be worth on the surface. And she'll reach out her hand and say, you should take one with you. Might be of more use to you than it is to us. He gives you a soft nod and takes a small patch and folds it up. One more thing before you, is he leaving like now or in the morning? He said, okay, okay, I'll want to catch him in the morning before he leaves. But yeah. Kieran's also going to pull out her climbing kit and give it to him. This might be useful for you on the journey. And she's going to pull out a coin from her pocket and kind of roll it around in her hand. Cinder might recognize this coin if she's looking. Interesting. And be like, just in case they fear who you are, this can help prove that we sent you. I think, what was her name star? Was it Kella? Yes. Kella would recognize it. And she's giving him flint's coin. Okay. Bo pulls out a kerchief, like how you give like a knight, like you're a token of good luck. I don't know if I have a backpack for eating signals. This is where you put it. You didn't use the spider silk man. He didn't have a final stick, wrap it up. Yeah. Over what it was called. That's so funny. Here's a full set of China. My timing kit probably is in a bag. That's true. Nah, it's always. No. All right. Here's 80 pittens. I'm not going to do necessarily anything right now. But I'm going to roll a crafting check and tell you what it is. And then in the morning, I'll tell you what I'm crafting. Does that work? Sure. I'm using a re-roll on that. That sucked. I don't even think there's anything else I could do. What'd you get? And nine. Whatever it is, it sucks. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's not too crazy. So maybe it's whatever. I'll still tell you what it is in the morning. You can tell me if it sucks or not, but. All right. Is there anything anybody else wants to do before you set down for rest? No. Yeah, I think I'll take the first watch. Okay. Oh, sorry. Frosty. Yes. No, you're fine. Nope. Bedtime. Everybody to bed. With me. I said good night. Mother hand type. Yeah. I think Frost just finding himself like without something that needs to be done. Tonight is a finally going to pull this old, this old shimmery mask out of his out of his bag and just stay with it. Kind of maybe talking growth a little bit. Then realize he's talking a lot and shut the fuck up again. Turn away from everybody. Don't knock at me. Does Frost speak Yoden? Similarly. Nice. It's trilingual. I knew that would come up. I couldn't remember if that was, yeah, if that was a thing. What do you say to the mask, Frost, just out of curiosity? Are you asking your questions? Yeah, I think I first pull it out and sit down with it. I'm just going to look at it and say. How would you have me? How would you have me protect this group that you have put me with? How would you have me complete your mission? And you get lost in the dark circles that make up the eyes of this antler half mask. And maybe after a while, you do catch yourself and you kind of think, you know, what am I doing? You put the mask back away. Your hands are sweaty. Yeah, clammy. Even though it's quite cold in here. Who's taking some watches? One more thing before. One more thing before we go to sleep. Karen does ask syndrome. Who she thinks would be a good person to disguise myself as, to put on the red to get in the city. I suppose any one of the raiders you're with would be fine. Someone with enough influence, but that not many people would recognize, maybe? Well, you sit on an interesting precipice, Karen. If you dress yourself as a commoner, you will not find much flexibility in the city and how it treats you. But if you find yourself disguised as a noble, well, no matter who you disguise as, it comes with its own grudges. I suppose it's up to you, but somebody from house Nemone might have histories that you're more familiar with. That being said, somebody from house Kima. Others tend not to ask too many questions. Is this an open forum that you're having? Is there, yeah, I'm not hiding it. Is there someone whose name and house Nemone I could use that I think that, well, I'd still actually, because it's been so long, like I'd ask syndrome this. Nemone might be the best route since I am more familiar if I get questioned. Is there someone that, or maybe I know someone's name that I might suggest that I think is not out a lot where people would recognize their face? Give me a society check, give me a plus two on this. I was gonna say, I don't know if Cinder can aid with this at all. I don't think so, because this is pretty intimate knowledge of. Specific tonight, I could talk. Yeah, yeah, just a nine. Nine, unfortunately, there's nobody who quite comes to mind. If I don't think of a name, I'll just ask Cinder, like, is there-- Cinder would say, I think the best maybe to adopt one of the identities of these raiders I were with, all of them lesser, Nemone, not Serrin, all of them belong to house Nemone, but in lesser status. And there's no, how you say, danger of running into the actual owner of the identity. Can you provide a full name for Cinder? Kid Rock. And Rock. Child of the Rock. Kid Rock Nemone. Kid Rock Nemone. Okay, Cinder, if you want to work on adding that name to your portrait. Already done. Already done. I put it on beforehand. Kid Rock Nemone. Kid Rock Nemone. Let's do the Kid Rock. No, fuck, I don't know. Give me a second. Let me think of an elven name. It turns out I've only named important people, so this is perfect then. Sue Nemone. Ted sued Nemone. Then he's a bully. Perhaps you should travel as belial. She was ferocious but quiet. That personality might suit you well if you wish to go undercover. I appreciate it, sister. For the rest of your party, I suggest... I suggest making up a name. I do not think it'd be wise if one of you were to disguise as somebody and then run into an acquaintance and not be able to remember basic things or speak in the native tongue as she looks over to you frost. I have a divided card. Pick that up on your travels. The disguise potion lets you do a different gender? Probably. Probably. Probably. Might be. Yeah, I wouldn't. That'd be a weird sort of hampering to the magical item. Might be worth pretending to be male. They're expected to let the leader speak and be quiet. Hold me. For those that can't speak the language. All of us. No, yeah, I gotcha. Just any that can't speak the language. Right. Yeah. Okay. Are all of you ready for bed? Bedtime, yes. Yeah. All right, who's taken watches? Frost control. First watch. Second. All right, it's that all blended together for me. Cinder first frost. You need, what is it, four? Five. Five watches. There. I'll just take one of the watches that's not taken yet. Wait, we're doing five watches now? I thought it was four in the past. Yeah. All right, four watches. I don't want to do math. Don't make me-- Cinder's taking first watch. So is Karen. Cinder, Karen, on first watch. Frost on second. Bow star. What are you taking? I'll take last watch. Last watch, Bow, do you want third or do you want cindra to do it? Bow will definitely take it. Okay. Everybody roll me a perception check. 28 for first watch. 28 for first watch. Frost for second. Flasset 20. Flasset 20. Karen for also first. 19 also first. 19. Bow for third. 30. Okay. And star four fourth. 22. Okay. Bow. In the middle of your watch, in the dead of what I suppose you could consider night down in this dark, dreary place, you start hearing a distant hooting and hollering. What do you do? Hoot and hollering back. I just-- I can't-- I'm so weird to say hooting and hollering. You have to say like hooting and hollering. Hoot and hollering. Um. I guess Bow will try to determine what it is and if it's getting closer before he wakes anyone up. Okay. Rolling over your 30 in perception, you're able to peer out one of these dilapidated windows. And you see in the distance, a growing fire may be a mile away as one of these fields have been torched. And this sound that you're hearing. Careful there. She was eating our dice. Navi eating my dice. Navi's suffering. And this sound you're hearing is several what you can only consider to be dol el raiders as they are flinging flasks or torches or some sort of devices of fire at this extremely flammable location. And the fire seems to be growing and alongside almost the yells of raiders and violence. You also hear screams. And you begin to smell burning flesh. I wouldn't wait that long, but to a point where all that wood could go down. I mean, this is all in an instant. Like this is just what you're seeing is happening now. Well, just the fire and this whole situation gives Bow a like very poignant and specific cold sweat that he hasn't felt in a long time. Um, having a similar like experience or experiences of the threat of, you know, towns and things being burnt by the like the hell writers. Um, and he immediately wakes everyone up. What do you say? Um, just loud enough to get hello hello to each one of us to wake you up. Five more minutes. They said hello. Um, he just speaks loud enough for everyone to, to stir just as raiders. They're burning everything. We need to move. Does it look like something that's getting out of control fast enough that could threaten our position here? If you can smell their burning flesh, I'd say so, but that's just me. I would think after Bow wakes you up, it's been pro wakes you all up and explains the situation. She's getting me. We've been about 15. I got it. It's probably been about 15 minutes. And the fire is growing more out of control. Send around. She'll give me a perception check. Okay. Also, I think she would also wake Benjyn up to and just ask him. Benjyn, is this something we need to be concerned about? Yeah, that is a 35. You see three dole elle. They're silhouettes in the distance, staggering, headed your way. And Benjyn looks up and says, "Yes, raiders." And we'll pick this up next time on the reroll gaming podcast. Ooh. What a treat.
