The Lord told the world that there's going to be a bloody night in my life. The esoteric order of old players present, lost in the maze, a deadlands reloaded campaign, with David Larkins as the marshal. Now we're recording. All right, we need cards and chips. Card and chips? All right. So, let's just do a basic system review for the maze benefit. Oh, okay. I want to know what kind of game I'm playing. So I mentioned that everything's rated with dice, right? So whenever you roll, like if you're going to shoot at somebody, you roll shooting. So you roll your shooting dice, but also any roll you make, you're also going to roll a wild die, which is a D6. And it'll be one of those, say, one of those glam dice there. Glam. Yeah, definitely. And Brian, you know all over that. Mm-hmm. And then, basically, you get your pick of the higher of the two. Okay. Okay. Which is going to godsend. No. Now, if you roll max on either of those dice or both, the max is referred to as an ace. I ace my roll. And you reroll the dice that you ace and add that amount to what to your max. Okay. Now if you ace it again, we roll again, so it can keep going. Yeah. What's the highest we've rolled? A 26 or something? Yeah. Something like that. Yeah, it wasn't. The last time I got four in a row? Yeah. Maybe it was you. Yeah. Was it when you were never in the lockdown? No, shooting somebody. Oh, when you shot the assailant. Yeah. Yeah. That was awesome. We'll do it previously on... Yes, we will. We've never deadlands. So, anyway, it's... So, basically, because you're just trying to rack up as high a total as you possibly can, because you want to get raises, so there's always poker terminology, right? Oh, I see. You want to get raises over your target number. So, the basic target number is usually four. Okay. Sometimes it's different, but I'll mention one of those. So, if you get a four better, you succeed. If you... And then for every increment of four more than the target number, that's called a raise. So, an eight is one raise, a 12 is two raises, 16 is three raises, etc. Okay. The more raises you get, the more successful you roll this, obviously. And then there's sometimes there's mechanical benefits for getting raises. Damage rolls can ace as well, so if you're rolling two D6 damage and you roll two sixes, you reroll both dice and add the total. Wow. Yeah. And likewise, likewise, you're trying to get a high total to beat the opponent's toughness, and, you know, cause women's and that sort of thing. Now, poker chips. No. Go around that one. Of course. Fate chips, if you will. Everyone starts with two. Three. Three. Three. Three. Five. Two. Five. Two. Five. Three. Seven. Three. I finally got a blue one. Oh. And two white ones. And... Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. And if you get chubby or cold or you don't like the wind on, you're going to just close those with the bikini. It just keeps me warm. There you go. That's it, Ken. One. One. One. One. One. Oh. Okay, so each chip color has different significance. And I get chips too. I get to, so I can send them for my precious monsters and NPCs. Ah. So. Which some people think doesn't fare, but I don't. I think it's totally fine. Nobody at this table thinks it's unfair. I think it's unfair. No. We're back to three players. Oh. Oh. Oh no. I will hold your ass. No. I don't know. Wild times. Oh. Are they right over there? I don't know. She's using them. No, no. That's fine. Everything has been started with all the... Yeah. Yeah. The blingy. I think she can eat one. That's fine. I just rolled a first one. Hey, Ken. Come on. Oh. Jesus. It's a ritual. Yeah. Those are the only abstainers. I know. I have my own one. My own system. Jesus. I have to explain it every week. Everyone egging now. Am I right? No. No. No. No. That was magic. How dare you. Anyway. Thank you for explaining the pages. Okay. Okay. So. The brightness. Oh. Yes. Uh oh. Can we use... To add an X and D6 to the total of your roll? Oh. Or to clear a shaking condition. But you will get shaking. Yes. But when you use a chip, David gets to take a chip out of the dish. If it's red. Right. Well, the... So the white chip is your basic chip. The white chip is your basic chip. You can cash in a white chip to re-roll. Oh, it's a re-roll. It's a re-roll. It's a re-roll. Mm-hmm. There are consequences. You can also... You can also cash in a white chip to do what's called a soak roll if you get ended. So just keep that in mind if you get it. That's what happened last week. Jade took a shot at this guy and rolled her four raises or whatever. And basically would have killed him. But I cashed in one of my chips to do a soak roll. So I was able to soak the damage. So it just turned into getting crippled instead of getting killed out, right? Oh, I see. That was bad. Yeah. But you can save your life. And the red chip can do that. So a red chip can function as a white chip. It's okay. Or you can cash it in to add a D6 to an existing roll rather than doing a re-roll. Right. Oh, okay. You know, if you're relatively happy with your roll, but you want to try and... You want to try and make it a raise. Oh, okay. Right. Or also, if you roll two, if you roll snake eyes on your skill in your wild, that's a fumble. Oh, my God. Okay. But if you have a red chip. I think we've ever done that. If you have a red chip, you can cash that in to add a D6 roll to one of the two dice. And that negates the fumble because now you no longer have snake eyes. I found that when I tried to fix your shoulder. That's right. Oh. Don't very block it out. I was like... Aww. Okay. That didn't work. I love you too, Kaki. I love you too. What? So I put the other way. Do you see this animal? I see her. You'd be good. Aww. Yeah, she would sneak up. That's usually why we keep her around because she's like that. She looks kind of like an entire chewing. I want something else. I think she's just tired. So I took her to the dog park, leaving like an hour hike. Oh, today? Yeah. Oh. Yeah. She actually did a jump around. Yeah. But yet she has super game music. Oh, yes. We're talking about Mellow. This is what happens when you have a dog that's like two different shepherds and a rock while they're all and terrier. All in. Oh, good. She's like, "I'm so happy but also neurotic." Yeah. Yeah. She's gorgeous. And she's really small. Yeah. She could probably drive a car. She could. [laughter] She could have named her two. She was just dancing. [laughter] Alright. Alright, so. Blue chip. No, blue chip. Yes. No penalty. There's no penalty on the blue chip. So blue chip can be like a red chip. You add D6. But I don't get to draw a chip. It's just a free, free and clear kind of, you know. Oh. Okay. Right. Good. Would you like to do this? They're so good. They're really good. They're really good. They're like, "Oh." And they're like, "They don't get stuck together there." Which is pretty nice. We just have to take five and take two more. You're like, "Oh no, it's so terrible for me." Do they get stuck together? Oh. [laughter] Three more things. Oh no. They got more stuck together. I know. Every flavor I've had of them too. I think it's worth a bit. I love that. She has way too many. And it looks like it's on our bed. She's not spoiled. No, no. I'm partial to the one. Oh, I do best. I'm just starting with the great one. Jen's taking the great one first. [laughter] Well, if we ever just spend the night, we know. We've got to pull out and we've also got the dog bed. [laughter] Okay. So that's a basic system, I think. What's going on? I'll get it as you play. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's not crunchy. It's about the character, I think. It's pretty easy. Cool. Cool. Okay. And then the last thing are these fun little adventure cards, which are little cards that basically give you some kind of rule-breaking thing that you can do. Which is awesome. It needs. So you get one. It's like magic. The guy. Yeah, yeah. [laughter] Jen's. All right. What do you do? You want me to take off the job? Yeah. I know that's why I hate it. It goes against my car. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yes. I better be able to use what? You did the, oh yeah. Dropped you. She drew the rules for Jon's stuff over, so she'll get two. [laughter] Oh, and you get two as well. No. You get either one extra fake chip or one extra card. You can hit chip. You can hit chip. You can hit chip. Shippin' it. I hope you all enjoyed my damn it. I hope you all enjoy my character stuff. Oh, sweet. Yeah. It is insane. Thank you. Thank you. Oh. You got any good stuff going on here? I think I already know exactly how I'm going to use that one. Oh. You only have to use one, so. Oh, I know. Let's try this. The one I'm going to use. I'm going to use it. You chose Portland. No, I've been wanting to watch that, like recently. Really? Yeah. Oh, okay. Sean Conner, you need everything. I should have later remembered my show on the... [laughter] Oh, no, don't start. Please don't start that. Just keep it fresh. He is. [laughter] All right. So, are we ready to play? I'm ready to play. I don't know. I wait too much for the fun. Mmm. Good. It says it should be. No, I was just saying, I totally hadn't written down yet what I was going to do for my attribute upgrade. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You guys all hit 10 points, don't you? Have you thought about what you're going to do? No. I was torn. Oh, shit. What, really? None of you guys thought about it? No. She was writing a novella. No. Sorry. You did read writing a novella. Novella. I had a lot of stuff going on in my head. Well, I was kind of torn between two, so. Okay. No. Renee, did you decide to start at like, what did you decide to do? Did you take the points or something? Yeah, zero, zero at the attributes. Oh. I don't think so. You're just going to begin at the begin. Oh, yeah. I guess so. You don't have to. It's up to you. No. No. I'm going to be easier if I start at the same level as everybody else. I don't think so. And frankly, it's like, since you're learning the system, I think you would benefit from getting to know the system a little better. Okay. You're like, oh, I really want to take that edge. Right. I really want to make a skill. Right. That's true. Okay. You know. Yeah. We're not that advanced. No, we're not. We're only at 10 points. We've only gotten raised like three times. Yeah. We're like a man. You're at? What? What is a hat? Yeah. I got a hat. You got a hat. You got a hat. I got a hat too. See? Oh. And see. Fancy. Fancy. You got a cute lady. So I can do this? Yeah. Like a little tiny hat. Oh. Tiny hat. Yeah. Those are delightful. Yeah. Cool. All right. Well, you stop laws over here. I don't know. Thought about how you're going to spend your advance. You can gain a new edge. You can increase a skill that is equal to or greater than its linked attribute by one die type. Increase two skills that are lower than their linked attributes by one die type each by a new skill at D4 or increase one attribute by one die type if you haven't already. One attribute by die type. Oh, man. Okay. Oh, shit. Now, Jen, you sure you don't want to take a new power edge and have a new invention? Oh. You're right. I want to do that. Oh. Oh. So, Jay, what did you do? Well, no sort of torn. Mm-hmm. Between upping one of my attributes just because my vigor is not super high. Yeah. Or just out right upping my shooting skill, although I seem to be doing pretty well where it is. Yeah. So far, you're shooting people. Yeah. Oh, yeah. So, I decided to do what I've been planning to do for a while and acquire boating as a skill since we're in our water, and that might be helpful. I had a boating discussion earlier. We did. We're on a call. He was a scoffing. He was one scoffing at us, but we think it's smart. So, I'm digging that in a... Okay. Well, I did get a 26 last time shooting someone. Yes. I'm scared of you. I'm feeling confident. Doc, it was just some good luck. Oh, may I look at the witch skills, make what list? Yeah, I think I may have it. Although, I don't know. If the GM was scoffing, maybe I do just want to up my vigor. Yeah. The GM was scoffing at me scoffing at me scoffing at me. You wouldn't like the end of that one? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My rope cigar. Yeah. Anyway. All right. I just want to up my vigor role then. Yeah, he was scoffing. All right. I know, right. I'm going to go ahead and up my vigor because I'm a skinny little... skinny little young guy. Okay. I'm just going to put this in parenthesis because I plan on doing it at some point. It's exciting, agility, and writing. I swear though, if I need boating in this session. Oh, no. That was on record. I don't know. Yeah. Well, we talked about, you know, proctoring being thrown, right? We did speak of that. Like, the whole table just gets to reach. Someone's going to throw it together. Someone's going to do it. Someone's going to do it. It's going to be the best night. Not the hummus. Not the hummus. That was reaching out. Focus. Time out. Time out. All right. Time out. There you go. Time in. Okay. Good. Okay. Got it. Spirit. Because I got to put it within my character too. Spirit. What you got? Weighted a storm. Ooh. Because you see, I have, as part of the Protellers mining system, it uses a system of vacuums. So a wind storm would be. Oh, the fire. But this abuses you. When he's at the Protellers system. Yeah. It's just you're in his system. I know you believe it. It's really cool. We watched an episode of Simpsons where Homer wants to be like Thomas Edison. Oh, God. And he talks about how, and Marj is like, well, I think Thomas Edison had time to invent all his inventions because he wasn't talking about Thomas Edison. He was like, actually Marj. He was a, he was a. Well, yeah. Well, yeah. He's like, he's like, he's 38. So he's feeling his good life. Yeah. Yeah. And he's like, oh, Thomas Edison had mentioned all these things by the stage. She's like, well, maybe it's because he wasn't always talking about Thomas Edison. He's like, no Marj. He was ashamed of self-promoting it. Well, promoter. So maybe he'd be quiet. I'm like, he has to be like, whoa, with a Proteller. You know, I love it. I love it. I love it. All right. So some kind of hurricane machine kind of thing. Yeah. It would be reversing. Tornado machine. It's called a cyclone machine. System. Yeah. Thank you. You're welcome. This power conjures up a twister strong enough to whip the coat off of a dead man. What was? It's making me think about Twilight Zone episode with the wind and the graveyard and. The windstorm must be conjured out of doors and is the size of a very large explosion. Damn it. Everyone within the whirlwind is automatically blinded. It must make a bigger roll or be shaking each round. Any ranged attacks across the twister suffer minus two penalty. I'm not feeling so bad about my upping my figure roll. Yeah. Exactly. You can move the windstorm as you wish each round at a pace equal to your spirit die type. If you take any action other than concentrating on the windstorm, you must make a spirit roll or the effect is lost. Okay. So that would just be activated with your. Okay. With your. Okay. Who's it? It's away from a binder. It's actually a custom thing and it's. Cool. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. It's really cool. Yeah. It changes it out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can even do that. It looks like I made it because I've had to tape it up. I've used it so much. It's falling apart. It seems. But. It's changed for what to win human. Yeah. It does. It changed last week. Yeah. It moves around. So once we have the XP when we've done our thing, I've increased my agility by one. Okay. Good. So I get rid of the XP. Erase. Erase. No. No. It's just a general. Yeah. And then you would write under 10 there that you added to your agility. Under 10. Yes. Added to. Oh, I raised my agility last time. Oh, you did. Oh, you can only do that once per level. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. I really need to have that sound. You do. Right. You do. You're too lazy. I bet there's enough for that. Yeah. Otherwise it's right. Yeah. Definitely. Oh, shit. What am I going to do now? Is there this? Oh, shit. Yeah. I was trying to make it. You discovered the reason why you write down what you do every, every thing. Oh. I think it sound like I'm stupid. Just a fine pot. Exactly. All right. I'm a. I guess I will increase. You feel? Couple skills? Do you get any befores? Those are dry. Knowledge of English. I think they know, no, but I want something with fighting. There's something. Yeah. What's your fighting? Knowledge of English? Are you in my knowledge of English? No. Well, then we can introduce you again. Oh, right. Yeah. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. I'm holding everything up. Okay. All right. Yeah. We're just eating all your food. Okay. Yeah. All of everyone's food. All right. Let's see. I think I will increase my. Wait. Do you have the piece of thing that says what we have, what we can do? I don't really have it. And she? Pull it up here. With the skills? No. I can't do that. No more. The summary. Yeah. Well, maybe I should increase my smarts. Because I think a couple of times you made me roll for smarts. And I was like, mmm. It's not worth it. You can only increase any attribute. But, oh, what's your level? One attribute increase skills. So, skills I can increase. One skill or two skills? It's one skill. If it's going to be going above the die type of thing. The die type of that linked attribute. Oh, okay. But then you can increase two skills if both of them will be going under their linked die attributes. Okay. Like, up to or under. Then I'm increasing my fighting and riding up to a D10. All right. Let me know why you're running your own game, Jake. Yeah, seriously. Not even joking. Not even joking. Nope. You're damn good. Yeah. I just remember stuff. No. That's really important. That's what you need. Yeah. No. Seriously. I'm pretty sure my roomier players would hate me though if I rolled like a 26 against them. Well, you do have to grab thick skin. Yeah. That's true. That's David. He cries every time you guys do. I do. Racking socks. As soon as everyone leaves. If you just pause and listen, you'll hear it. Oh, my God. Can I? I'm driving off. You're crying too. All right. Well, you know what? It's not a session with somebody cries. No. That's not true. No. That's not true. That's the ending we laugh like. Well, you can laugh. Christ. Christ. Christ. Christ. Okay. Okay. This is another beautiful one. Oh, yeah? There's water in there. There's peach black tea. Oh. I know you. Who doesn't? I don't know. Some people don't. Really? No. I don't want to know. All right. Can you play? So there was just one last question for you, Renee, before your character. I mentioned that we had a sort of traveling, you know, song and dance act come into town in our last session. Yeah. So did you want to be part of that truth or do you want to be like a rival separate act? It sounds kind of fun. Yeah. Oh, no. Oh, to be part of it? Yeah. Okay. Cool. That works. That you already had a truth? No. Right. So it makes sense. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It tries it in nicely. Mm-hmm. Okay. So you have been in town then for the last, what was it, three days since, uh, since they came in. I believe I'm going to check my calendar. Okay. Really quick. Can we just introduce our characters really briefly? Yes. Yes, please. Go for it. All right. I'll go first. Um, okay. Um, also known as Raven. She is, um, Indian woman, Lakota Sue, Marshall of Perdition, for whatever health reason. Um, my strengths are fighting, writing, shooting, um, also intimidation and guts. I have a cult, I have two cult peacemakers. I'm too fisted, so I can shoot both. Um, and I have a revolving shotgun and a tomahawk again. Thank God. Um, and my hindances are I have a coat of honor that I adhere to, for good or for ill. And, um, I'm part of hearing and an outsider. Okay. And I'm an outsider in this mainstream world, in this realm. Um, and that's pretty much it, I think. Mm-hmm. And you read my little tail, whoa. Um, of what? Very sad. Yeah. Oh, God. Well, that was what I pulled because at the end of every session, we get to pull a card. So, I caught the three of clubs. So, clubs means like tragedy, something really. Um, telltale tragedy from your character's background. Hearts would be a tale for romance. You know. Oh, I see. Yeah. Okay. So, basically, I got to use my hindrances to, I incorporated my hindrances into my... No choice. Thank you very much. Thank you. Oh, yeah. Thank you. That's me. I'm Quad Order Petolis, inventor of the Petolis Monies. [laughter] Very exciting. I'm going to learn to switch the thing the other way. I'm a man scientist type. Um, weird science, med science. That's interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Um. Guide to this. Prospector. Thank you. Oh, yeah. [laughter] [unintelligible] I don't know what was going on there. I'm going to have a weakness for song birds. Mm. The thing that I want most is, um, power and wealth. So, I can win the hand of fine lady. The one who's currently a town. Dora Bowman. Um. That's true. Not Dora Bowman. Oh! Dora Bowman. You know all about her. That's true. Yeah. I bet you're okay. Yeah. Um. Not Dora Bowman. [laughter] I've traveled from the east in search of fortune. Mm. You know, a bit of a gadgeteer and a, um. Well, what's your current status? Like, what are you, what's your current job? Oh, yeah. Oh, thanks. I'm the mayor. [laughter] I got a pointed mayor. We were friends. Tiny detail. Yeah. Well, you know, um. To quote it with, babe. [laughter] We, uh, you know, this, uh. From the mayor of Orange Flexion Station 37. Yeah. We were mayors. Permission. So. Oh. [laughter] You're a mayor. No, I don't know. No reason. Look at my candy. [laughter] That's it. I think that's all I got for right now. Basically, they, um, they got, they got a pointed mayor and marshal for two weeks until elections can be set up. Ah. Right. That's cute. I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think we're going to do that. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Um, I think that's what we're going to do. Okay, well, I was born in France, and, um, what was my story? I saw my mom. It's just sort of in our corner and our mission. Yeah. Um, no. 'Cause that's based on these visibly. Oh, they're visibly foreigners? Just checking. Yeah. Yeah. He's like xenophobic. So there's this, um, my mother found out about a great deal, um, to, well, men in the Wild West were paying a lot of money for mail order rights. Um, and so when I was turning 13, my mom shipped me off to the U.S. for our big pile of cash to a guy named, um, old Judge John. Oh, my God. No! That's a great deal. Oh, that's a great deal. I feel like he existed somehow. I don't know. This whole archetype. You can imagine. Oh, my God. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, oh, oh. [laughter] But being a young whippersnapper, I ran away and traveled to the West. Yes. Um, and I didn't know, like, what to do as a profession. And so several Madams. Yep. Invited me, you know, to their places as a good place. And I decided, no, that's not the way I wanted to go. Right. Um, and then I happened to fall in with a troop of actors. Wonderful, good. And so now I'm an actress and I'm actually very good at it. Oh, good. And that's useful. Mm-hmm. And I'm called Jersey Lily because no one can trace my accent, and so they think I'm from the North. Oh. [laughter] Hmm. Interesting. Yeah. I can only, I can only do a set of naps and that's, it's one of them. I love that. It's true. That's awesome. And my hindrances, I'm, hmm, I, I ruse like a peach. Mm-hmm. In the skin. Mm-hmm. I'm afraid of spiders and I'm a doubting Thomas. Great. Yes. That's awesome. Those are perfect. Mm-hmm. It's heavy and fabulous. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So. So, that's what we play? Yes, yes, yes. Yay. So, on this Saturday morning, December 22nd. Oh, right. Mm-hmm. Ooh, we're coming on. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All the news in town surrounds the arrest of Masha Kurtz, who was caught in the act of ruffling with a vagrant last night during the premiere show. He was violently beating everyone. Yeah, I think he was trying to murder. Well, this is how the, the, the harbinger, the local paper puts it. Really? Yes. Lacey. No, Lacey's not involved with the harbinger. Oh, no, no, no. All right. Is Lacey around? Time's around. Are you going to talk to him? Yeah. So, um... You can print the real story. Yay. Mm-hmm. So, anyway, up in the, oh, you know, the place you're staying at, which is called the fallen angel. Saloon. Oh, yeah, it's like... Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, it's like... Oh, yeah, it's like... You're amazing. Yeah. Oh, thanks. Mm-hmm. Um, yeah, the paper just talks about how Masha Kurtz is a local... um, businessman who was establishing himself here in tradition. He has a shipping company. Um, and his son, Granville, is tapped for mayoral hopeful at the elections in ten days. Yeah. So, it's quite a little scandal. Oh, versus... What? Well, I don't know if I'm going to run against her. Oh. Just seeing another competitor. Oh, really? Yeah, Luke Watson, the enabled Joker. Ah, so... Head of the telegraph office. Oh. So... But you wouldn't necessarily know that because the Harbinger doesn't even mention... Oh, really? Yeah. Wow. No. No. Interesting. Mm-hmm. So, people are calling the Joker? Yeah. But he's known as Joker, colloquially. Joker? Yeah. Just Joker. Just Joker? Just Joker? More Matthew Modine, less Heath Ledger. When Matthew Modine have to do with it... Full metal jackouts. Oh, that's... Um, I liked your sneerom and dignims. What is that? Yeah, I didn't even know what that was. How old is that? Um, well, I think, um, that's interesting. So, they don't even mention his candidacy. Oh. Huh. Nice. Nice. There needs to be, like, something else written. Well, why am I thinking this? I wouldn't think this. Right. I don't give a fuck. You're back in the martial office. Kurtz is in one of the... Yeah, we're holding Kurtz. Cells. Uh-huh. And, um... His arm in a sling. Right. So, he's been tended to. I felt compelled. Yeah. Yeah. And, um, so I'm just keeping an eye on him. Who's gonna come in to punish him? I mean, like... Who's gonna come in to punish him? Who's the judge? Yeah. And, uh, better not be. Shit. [laughs] Really, it's just caught up to the side. It's just caught up to the side. I don't know what your, uh, jurisdiction is here. [laughs] Jeff, do you need an execute? [laughs] Don't pay on my life. I know! [laughs] [laughs] [laughs] [laughs] [laughs] [chuckles] [inaudible] Yeah. My son's Matthew and Modine. Oh, no! [laughs] I'm gonna watch that. Actually, oh, I did. [sighs] Um, I'm trying to think of anything else that happened last week. You know, it's actually a matter of somewhat sketchy, jurisdictional, um, matters because the city of Los Angeles, uh, which you are in proximity to, has effectively declared its sovereignty. Sovereignty. Yes. Yeah. Look out for them. Uh-huh. And a, uh, radius extending 75 miles from the city. What? So. This is why they do their patrols. Yeah. Remember, remember, remember, yeah, remember they mentioned that last week. Like, basically, they're gonna be kinda around. Right. And I was gonna, I wanted to crack some skulls. Does tradition fall within that 75 miles range? Yeah. Oh! Yeah! No! No! I wanted to crack some skulls. Like, I wanted to kind of regulate on some of them. Like, stay the hell away from the staff. Right? Then you're gonna get a whole, I mean, burning angels, though. They're not supposed to, they're not even supposed to, uh, be around there, anyway. Well... Snipping around, right? David, come on. They're patrolling, in the sense? You guys are the... Think of all. Think of all. You guys are the law and order around here. So. That's why, like, that's why I wanted to meet her up together. Don't separate us. I wanted to make an example. Mmm. Maybe a lot of firepower for that kind of thing. Stay away from... I got an extra gun, with a shotgun on it. Right! Let it go! I totally looked those up. Yeah. I wore a bag. It's so cool. Five pounds from loading. Oh, yeah. We'll set you down with another gun? Yeah. Yeah. It's a revolver. A revolver? It's a shooter. Yeah. With a shotgun underneath it. Oh, my gosh. It's just... It's just outrageous. And it's real. It's a gun. It's a gun. Yeah. It's a gun. It's a gun. It's a connoisseur gun. Okay. So, I wanted to know, I remember thinking. Yeah. I walk into the... I walk into your jail. It's early morning. Alright. And I'll walk in and I'll say... One at night, huh? Kinda. What happens? We heard some shooting. Oh, well done. And then I see the... Like, the king of the whole town in jail. Mm-hmm. This guy was shooting. This guy was trying to kill somebody. Wow. Who was he trying to kill? It was trying to kill. The guy in the cell down there. The guy in the other guy. The other guy. The... Yeah. The vagrant. Mm-hmm. Question is why? He's not talking. He's not talking. Is he talking? No. He's not talking. He's wired for his attorney from Carson City. Before the attorney gets here. Yes. He's talking about me. I'm not gonna lie. I do. You're cashing this in already? Yes! Alright. Spill the beans. Yes! The subject of your questioning tells you everything you want to know. Oh, yeah. Oh, so... Whether by friendly persuasion, intimidation or force. I could see being friendly. Come on. Come on. Talk to him. Wow. I didn't want to shoot you, man. I didn't want to shoot you. Yeah. Yes. He really doesn't damage. Mm-hmm. I did pistol whip up with that thing. He did! I know! I'm tense. You just regulate it, okay? Yes. As your deputy, this is my honor. To beat the crap out of him. I appreciate that. It's a wonderful degree. Alright. I would like to catch in there once he wakes up. Oh, he's a little scared. No, he's a little scared. No. That's what I say. That's what I say. He's awake in the door. Go in there. Alright, we're in. I'll just do you a good cop, bad cop, near. I'm a bad cop. What I'm going to do. No. I'm just going to sit there. My bowler has knawed and shake your head. I'm just going to stare at him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Spitting your tobacco, just like that. I'm just going to stare at him the whole time. I'm not. I barely blink. I don't want him to be blinking. Right. I'm just going to stare at him the whole time as you're being nice to him. He's not going to do. Does that work? 'Cause I have intimidation and guts. Wow. Mm-hmm. Mr. Kurtz, I had to say this again. I really didn't want to have to do what I did last night. But you were seeing a little out of control and I had no idea what else to do. I think, though, you'd feel an awful lot better if you let me know what was really going on last night. Yes. I'm going to stare at him until, like, I'm going to stare at him the whole time. Don't stare at him. Like a man unburdening his soul. Does he look at me? No, he's looking at it. He's just a lot. He's not going to do these big baby browns. Right. That's right. Cool. Like a man unburdening his soul, the floodgates open. Mm. And I can't tell you what he said to you. Yeah, right now. No, you're there, so that's fine. Honestly, you're just generally for the game. And I can't tell you. Well, that's what those cards are for, man. I had planned on revealing this, but... You just have to understand that I have a huge amount of capital invested in the Kurtz export company. I understand. And I have a vested interest in seeing Granville serve as man. We are a father. And I was just doing what I needed to do to ensure his victory. And how would that ensure his victory? Well, it's what the angel promised me. Wow! You know what the angel promised you. That if I made the right sort of sacrifices, I would get what I wanted in return. And it's worked very well so far. I'm out of shock, what kind of sacrifice would we talk in here? How long has this been going on for? I'm still staring at it the whole time. Well, if you'll be kind enough to escort me back to my townhouse, I can show you. Well, I've been a follow you guys. Okay, we're going on a trip. So I get up, get the keys, get them handcuffed. I'll take them in my arm so you can trust me at the moment. Okay, follow me. You can move the way. I will. Off we go. So, meanwhile, up in the, uh, up in the following angel, reading the paper, that name, "Mashac Kurtz." It opened. It, uh, it struck a, struck a note of familiarity. Oh, Kurtz. Kurtz. Kurtz. She got out of the life by saying she was going to go marry this, this rich inductive. And this just seems like, it might be the same. Oh. Oh. This is rich. Yeah, it's good. It's good. And you know, reading your paper up in your room there, you look out on the street and you see the Marshall's office is directly across, well, not, not directly across, just down the street from where you're at. And so you can see, uh, these two characters here are coming out, you know, with Kurtz in the, uh, in the lead, something's clearly up. All right. Do you, do you recognize him? I mean, would you recognize him? Oh, yeah. Not necessarily. You'd only heard of him. Only heard of him. Yeah. Oh, what's going down? Down there. So, I decided to, uh, go downstairs, help her out to the street. Mm. How do you get it to your wife? How close do you get to the, to us? Um, so I have my little, um. Um, so I'm just wandering down the street, you know, looking around. I'll crawl on the other side. Mm-hmm. And just... Prepare lowing. Mm. Okay. I'm seeking. Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. I'm hoping to find an opportunity to get close enough to hear, but... Okay. Yeah. I'm definitely following. You're curious. Yeah. All right. I'm not a couple people who I'm sure are following us. Mm-hmm. I hope you understand what you're doing here is the right thing. It's good. Again, show feel. A load better getting this all off your chest here. Well, I just hope that, um, in cooperating like this, um, we can ensure a fair, uh, fair shop for my son. I'm sure. I just want to see him do well. I'm sure. You're a good father that you are. Wow. That's good. Really awesome. Mm-hmm. So, make your way through the streets. Where's Quad? I'm right here. Oh, you're with us? Yeah. I walked in. Remember, I walked in and began that. I'm fine. I'm fine. You're doing a good cut, bad cut, man. Do you notice? Um... I don't think so. I know. No, sir. Oh, I probably was. That's surprising. Oh, yeah. You were like, "Oh!" You attended the entire show. Yeah. You saw everything. (laughter) It's really funny. Well, I'm totally the type who's, if you happen to notice me, I'll get a link. Oh. Uh-oh. Oh. All right. Let's talk afterwards. (laughter) I wonder who you're going to take to that punch social now there, Quad. I know. (laughter) I've got my goals. My goals. (laughter) I've got a little notebook that I've been writing down with. What, uh... These names change. We all have our goals. Right. So, I'm just staying on the plan. (laughter) We're going. All right. We're heading. We're walking. So, to kind of re-establish the scene here, um, like I said, tradition is, is, uh, this town has just started to grow up in life, like last month, basically. Right. Um, it's situated at the edge of some 30-foot cliffs looking out over this, um, channel of, um, butts and, uh, maces and so forth that were created, um, about 11 years ago when a huge earthquake shattered the entire west coast and turned the California coast into what they called a maze. Oh. Okay. I thought you told me about this. Well, I'm just going over it. Okay. So, um... I was surprised. I was like, oh, how many? How many? That was not the scene. I'm just not the scene. Yeah, I know. I know that, but I was just like, oh, I thought you had taught me to talk about it. I don't know. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. Uh, and so California, basically, yeah, like the, I don't know, about 50 miles from the coast inland was just, you know, sunk down into the sea and turned into this, you know, channel maze of channels around me. You know about the rail wars? Um, I think I read about that right now, because that's key. Mm-hmm. So, um, so yeah, because the Civil War dragged on for, um, 15 years, um, there was no transpontinal railroad, um, but there were, like, government, uh, grants from both the North and South offered for anyone to complete it. So that led to, basically, open war fair between the various rail companies. I see. Um, so those have recently perhaps included with Wasatch Rail, uh, completing a connection to the town of Los Angeles, which is situated here on the, on the new coast. The area of Perdition. Oh, okay. Oh, oh. Oh. Okay. Uh, and California has become a destination for a lot of people, because when the quake happened and all the, all those channels opened up, they found this new mineral called Ghost Rock, which burns a lot hotter and a lot more, um, a lot longer than just coal. It's revolutionary. It's revolutionary. No. It screams when you burn it. Oh. Take the calories. It smells. And it smells, um. You can see that. You can see that. You can see that. You're so screaming. Yeah. It smells like the screams of tortures. But the dead. But of the damned. That's a few. There's a scientific explanation for it. It's just a. Air pockets trapped inside the rock. Right. It's kind of like when a lobster screams when you boil it. Yeah. They're not. Yeah. Oh, it smells. It smells weird. Right. And you make, you can make bonsai. It smells weird. Right. And you make, you can make bonsai. And you can make bonsai. And you can make bonsai. And you can make bonsai out of it. Oh. It is, it's sulphury. Um, no. It's like more like a metallic smell. Like blood. Like bideen. Oh. Like what? Well, the bideen. What's that? It's a tiny. A rare metal. I don't know about that. That burns underwater. Oh. It just goes strong. Oh. Right. There's no. There's no connection there. No. Anyway. Yeah. Prediction is, is in very much a new town. Most of it is still under construction. The order processing station is this massive steel and stone edifice. The jail is a stone, is a brick house, uh, train station's brick. Everything else is like either a tent or, you know, wood-trained tarps, you know. It's really basic. Yeah. Yeah. Super basic. Yeah. The saloons are built. Those got built first. But, you know, but, you know, all the wood's unfinished and everything, you know, you still smell the sauce. Pine. Yeah. Pine. Yeah. Get sap out of your sleeves. I need to put your, on the bar. Um, I have a question. Mm hmm. Most of temperature like. Well. Well, it's a good question. It's December. It's December in Southern California. So normally that would be fairly mild. Mm hmm. Uh, but because of your proximity to the, uh, the ruins of the town called Ghost Town, which got accidentally bombed, and it's now, it's now a giant skull-shaped flaming crater. Mm hmm. Um, it's, it's about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than it would normally be. So it's, you know, it's, it's warm. It's like in the 70s. It's bombing each weather. Uh huh. In the summertime, it's going to be unbearable. Yeah. It's going to be healthy. Yeah. How long? Wait, it'll be. How long? I'll check because there was the vein underneath. And there was a vein of Ghost Rock. That's what happened. It's the bomb hit the town and then there's, it ignited the vein of Ghost Rock. Under the ground. I don't really like that town in Pennsylvania. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Mm hmm. And still going. Yeah. Yeah. And people still live there. Yeah. Yeah. So we're walking toward this man's house. Centralia. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Mm hmm. So we're at this guy's house. So anyway, the Kurtz shipping company, yeah, they have a, they're, they're another one of the, the completed, you know, built buildings in town. Mm hmm. So it's created over near the train tracks. And so, so yeah, Kurtz takes you there. A crowd is gathered. A few people. Yeah. I mean, it's, it's early in the morning on a Saturday. So there's, you know, there weren't a whole lot of people out, but those who were, you know, they see the Marshall and the mayor. Yeah. And this guy. But not really. You know, and Kurtz. And they read the paper. Yeah. So now everyone's kind of falling behind. Yeah. A little like tin bag. Yeah. Exactly. Tipping. Mm hmm. So similar. Not one for you yet. Ah. We'll, we'll, we'll make it work. Uh huh. We'll say they're Marshall. Mm hmm. All right. So. Let me show up. Kurtz has got a pentagram in there. We'll put it on. Oh, yeah. Don't worry. We'll find something with points on it. Perfect. All right. So. Okay. So, uh, you, uh, you head up, you head up to the porch. Kurtz stops at the front door. Right. Turns around. Uh huh. Crowd is gathered. And so he just says, I just want everyone to know that no matter what you might hear, my son, Granville, had no knowledge of what I'm about to reveal to the Marshall and the mayor. And I do not want, uh, any ill talk of my character to reflect on this. All right. I start poking him. I start poking him, like, get in your house. Wow. All right. I don't have any patience for this. All right. Wait. Did he say? Did he go on? The son's name? Or Kurtz. Like, I'm just wondering if I figured out that it's Kurtz. Oh, yeah. Oh. Mm hmm. Yeah. I so, what's the name? What's the name? Masha Kurtz. I'm Masha Kurtz. Okay. Yeah. All right, so I'm poking him. I'm poking him. I'm poking him. All right. It shows over. So, um, all right. So very well. Very well. So it turns around. Takes you in the house. Mm hmm. Very nice house. Mm hmm. The pile carpets. Oh. Mm hmm. This is a bitch with all that dust. I know. It is. Uh, Chandelier. Wow. Gran staircase. He passed the staircase to a, uh, door situated under the stairs. It doesn't sound ominous at all. Oh, no. I don't know. With his good arm, he produces a, uh, key on a chain. I'm under his shirt. Unlocks the door. Door swings open. Some stairs going down. Only stairs going down. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Shred. Takes you down. Can't be as bad as the last set, right? Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Oh. Oh. Mm hmm. Or could it? The memories come flooding back. Mm hmm. We went to a mental institution. And there was like a crazy ass. Gollum made out of various body parts and. Various. Like blobs and stuff. With a blob. Oh yeah. This is the basement. Yeah. Human, human flush blob. We did. We blew it up. It ran away. I, I ran first. Yeah. Didn't you? Yeah. It ran far away in some reservations. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. That was. All right. Downstairs into the basement. Is there a light? Is there any sort of. There is no light. There's a candle on a, on a stove that he, you know, takes and lights. Leads you downstairs. I'll hold the candle. Okay. Um. It looks like an ordinary cellar. At first. Mm hmm. But there is a door on the far end. It takes you across. Producers the same key. Unlocks that door. As that door swings open a very powerful stench of salts and nostrils. Great Christ. That's what he got in here. What does it smell like? What does it smell like? It smells like, uh, it smells like blood. It smells like meat that's gone off. Ooh boy. It's nothing we're not familiar with. We're not familiar with that stench. All that old familiar stench. A little less familiar. A little less familiar. But it's there. Yeah. Okay. I put my cut kerchief over my face. Mm hmm. Yeah. Why I put it good on. Let's go. You go in. All right. I don't want to go in. It's a small chamber. Um. Very simply decorated. Uh. Essentially there's just a large table. Uh. Almost like a butcher block. Stained red. Um. There's a selection of knives and saws. Um. Hanging on a wall. On one wall. On the other wall are several niches in the wall. Each, uh, with a skull. Set into it. Mm hmm. And then on the far wall, kind of opposite the door, are a bunch of strange symbols that have been painted in blood. The blood looks to be in varying stages of, of freshness. Everything from like almost black, you know, dry to relatively fresh. That's why I've been going on shirts. Well, ever since the angel came to me. Mm hmm. And that was back in St. Louis. How many here hurts? Well, I was, uh, going to make it seven last night. How many did the angel stand to do? I just had to keep doing it. Hmm. Where's the angel now? I don't know. It appeared to you? Yes. Where? The church? No. I'm alone at night. Oh no. Dark. No. Mm hmm. Okay. All right. I've seen enough here. Well, I'm sure it's a good thing. I've shown us all of this. What did the angel promise you? He promised me wealth. He promised me power. That sounds like a demon to me. He was an angel. I was a demon. I say under my breath. All right. Um, what did you bear with the bodies? What are the bodies? I'll pass the cliffs. I'll show you where that is. So it takes you back out. All right. Outside, you see. Mm hmm. Yeah, everyone reemerge. Well, I'm looking really pale. Oh, wait. Mm hmm. It's like a femme. With carts? In case. Oh, okay. Yeah. We're all together still. Mm hmm. Let's go to the cliffs. All right. So they head out, you know, back down, pass the cliff watch hotel down an embankment that leads down to the beaches. He leads you along the cliff side for a good ways until, you know, you reach a spot where the cliffs kind of, the slope becomes a little less steep. Mm hmm. And he sort of indicates some piles of dirt, you know, at the base of the, of the cliffs and those areas. Well, check. Well, anyone feel his movies? I am. I'm seeing a prayer over these poor, lost souls. Is there so a crowd of people fall? Oh, yes. Yeah. You can be there. Yeah. Yeah, I am. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Is Lacey real? Lacey's been here. Lacey's been here. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's cute. It's hot. Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, mom is brown. Is there anything else? Do you feel you need to tell us? Yeah. That's a good question. That is a great question. This is the iceberg old man. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. I think it happened. Mm hmm. That's it. It's it. And your son knows nothing about this. Grand Hill was the product of my last marriage. To who? To who? I guess not. What's that, Miss? What was that? I acknowledged the Miss in the craft. No. Your dear wife, did she really die of the consumption? No. None of them did. What? What? Wait, what happened to Sally? I'm trying to look. Oh. All right. Well, you're going to have to come forward. Yeah. Tell your family. Yeah. Okay. Yes. Yes. Hey, Mr. Curtis. I do apologize, but I hope you understand why I'm going to have to go and lock you back up and that's still over there. I understand. But first, tell me what happened to Sally. Aww. These good people can tell you. They've seen it. Oh. Good monster. Yeah. I'm laughing. Yeah. Totally. So we'll just come with us back to the... Yeah. We're going to need your evidence. Yeah. We're going to speak. Yeah. Okay. So we're going back to the jail system. Well, it would please me to shoot him right here. Well, you too. I'm pretty sure it's Lori's not going to be able to do a damn thing to help him now. Carson City can't save him. Nope. Nope. All right. So, take him back. Yeah. Lock him up. And so, how do you know this thing? Well, I was working in St. Louis. Mm-hmm. Oh, wow. Back. Mm-hmm. Rather not say what I was doing. You don't have to. But I think we all know that you said that. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh! Oh! You don't sit. Was yours percut, baby. It's gone. You tell? So, you knew your friend Sally. Yes. And did she tell you about this man? She said that she met a really rich, sweet, sweet man who was going to take her away. Oh, they certainly did take her away. They're there. Mm-hmm. They took her somewhere. Mm-hmm. And I never heard from her again. Well, unfortunately, we have reason to believe that Sally is no more. Yeah. No! Oh, no. They're there, man. Damn you! [laughter] Does he react at all? No, he's just sitting in his cell. Mm-hmm. Well, I'm very sorry then. There's anything I can do. Yeah, we may need you. [laughter] For what? I don't know. I don't know if I'm going for what? I just don't know. What if this angel, who knows about this angel? I think to say he's not still under its protection. Angel. Are you saying I'm going to leave in this cell? Aren't you at the Thomas? Yeah. Dang. No, she's a downer. No, she's a downer. Oh, you're a downer. What if it's a person? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm not saying that bad thing. I'm sorry. What if it's related to the lost angel city somehow? He said he meant it in St. Louis. Okay. Also, it's a demon. He's probably possessed. [laughter] No, what? Meet me in St. Louis. [laughter] [laughter] In everyone. It's not my note. Um, no, it's probably a demon. He's probably possessed by a demon. And there's really no cure for that. No, it's not. All the rest here is that I'm thinking about. No, that's two to three. Look at the extra problem. You want to try? Do you want to try? You want to try? I'm going to be going in these practices in this one. [laughter] In this game. That would be my name. That would be incredibly entertaining. That would be incredibly entertaining. Why are they entertaining? I'm trying to think. What? I've got these goggles with their tech-detect arcana. Maybe I can have a look at them and see if there's anything floating in there. Or on their friend's house. Look around his house or his basement. See if there's anything. Look, because he stands in one of these. Come on in when he sleeps. All right, let's do this. Should we do it? Yeah, I got to watch this guy, though. Right? Well, maybe tonight. Maybe when the moon is full. Is it a full moon tonight? Oh, God, in the sky. Is it a full moon tonight? Look, look, where the waves are finding out. Okay. This is just poetic. Oh, no, this is awesome. [laughter] You can tell it's exactly where the moon is. That's where the moon is. All right. So, I think that's a good idea. I think we need to, is there any more information you can give us? Is that he did to tell us everything? The card has done its magic. Okay. What? Well, maybe there's a cult of some sort. I heard about the same list. Maybe there is. Did you hear of anything around you? I think so. There was a strange group there. Really? Yes. That's as much as I know. Right. I heard about it from my people. Right, who? Very good. [laughter] You do hear things. Around the town. Around the town. Yes. Yes. Okay. Okay. So. Yeah. Great. Let's stay here. Next, the full moon is going to be on the 28th. Oh. So, six more days. Oh, it's poetic. It's just a way to make it more fun. Okay. God forbid it. What is it going to do for the sexual support of the church? Oh. What? The potential. The potential. Oh, the social. Oh, the social. I forgot about that. What a travesty. Is the good thing we had comments? Wait, what is it starting? Is it today? Today. What? Today? Okay. I'm going to go to the church and I'm going to see if they can push it back a day. What is that going to do? I don't know. People are upset. I can't understand that this is a serious situation. I can distract them before there's some sort of a crazy mutiny where they try to kill him in a cell. True. The social might distract them. So, I'm going to go to the church and just see if they're still on. Like, they're still on. Are they ready to still do this? Okay. Very good. That's what I deputized you. Yep. Okay. So, now I'm just picturing you like, "Hey, it's time that church from scrubs." Yeah. I'm just picturing you as that guy. I love him. Totally got it all. Yeah. Time to go. All right. Okay. Especially with the big brown eyes. You're like, when he said that I was like, "Yeah, sure." All right. Okay. So, um... Let's see here. I like to busy eating cookies too. I got cookies in my mouth. All right. So... I'm going to cook you the way about. We're having the morning biscuits. Yeah. Exactly. So, you'll recall the church, like everything else, is under construction. Right. And they're going to be raising the steeple on Christmas day. Right. Right. Right. Um... As for the punch and pie, they say that that was Grand Bill's thing and if he wants to still do it today, they're available. Oh. Where is he? Where is he? Where is his son? Have you seen him? Have you seen him? Someone has to break the news through? He hasn't been around. What has he been around? Maybe he slipped the net, kind of. No, I don't know. We've got to look for him. So, let's go to the phone and enjoy the hotel. Okay. Um... I'm going to knock on the performer's doors. Because, honestly, I mean, I'm thinking that's where he would be. No offense squad. That's quite alright. I hope he is not. Depending on all the performers. All right. So, would you be back there by this point? Yes. Yes. Okay. So... Have a show to do. Just try it. Try it. Try it. All right. So... Have you seen Grand Bill? No. What happened? Where is Deborah? What's her name? Dora Bowman. Dora Bowman. Have you seen Miss Bowman around? She's in the back, actually. Okay. Can I go? I'm going to go look for her. Yeah. Finder? Yeah. She's there? Yeah. Have you seen Grand Bill? No. Kurtz? Kurtz? No. He was at the show last night, but... Did he visit you after the show? He sent some flowers up, but... That was it. Are you with me? Nothing. Yes. Are you with me? Yeah, I think I'm taking you along. Are you taking along? All right. I'm doing this for your benefit, too. I would like to talk to you about just to see how you're holding up. Okay, so I walk away. Mmm. Leave them alone. All right. Okay. Yeah. Sort of, uh, smiling at you quietly, you know. Uh-oh. I don't know if you heard me. We've had a little drama here in town of our own, uh... Yeah. Disturbing, disturbing facts have come forth about the father of Grand Bill Kurtz. I see. In fact, he is a devil worshiper and a herder room in prison. Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha! No! He's a devil worshiper. Is that what you did here before you was dormed? Does she even care about that? Why would she care? She's the same person. She's like, "Well, here we go again." Yeah, exactly. Another nut. So... Yeah, exactly. I was down in small town politics. Yeah. Just be careful to stay inside here. Give up a little dressing room here. Yes, exactly. You came somewhere. Yeah. And your little cage. Sure. Stay safe. And if you need me help, simply sing out now. Yeah, you're sad. And that's it. Terribly kind of is. All right. Does she like it? She's a mask. Who can say? She's a performer. Mm-hmm. All right. Well, off we go. You're gonna find me. Where's Grand Bill's house? He's nervous. Let's just live with father. Oh, they weren't, and he wasn't there when... Well, I had pulled you aside and he asked, "Is there anything that you know about Sally?" Oh, um, yeah, that's... Would it be okay if I tag along and ask Grand Bill a few questions about her? Sure. Okay. No, sure. Whatever would make you feel better. Absolutely. I'm just... I'm just scared. You know, I mean, the fact that you know her, and that was surprising, but I mean, I must tell you that there is no... I mean, she is dead. A small man. You know, I am just being honest with you. That's Sally! Yeah, no. They're there. Oh, so I, uh, I'm saying that she is dead. Unfortunately, and it looks possibly... Oh, I can see that's why. It's possible that, um... Mr. Kurtz killed her. Oh, but why would he do such a thing? He was just possessed by the devil. I personally think he's possessed. But... By a bad spirit. He was just smoking some of that pain. I think. No offense. I don't... I don't... I don't use that, so... It's not offended. Well, that's not my... No, we don't... We don't smoke that. We don't use that. Um... Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. That's so great. I love it. I thought it would go in. Yeah. Of course. I think I'm not one of those... The flock ticks on the mantle. Yeah. Sure, not dear. That's great. I'm not from the west coast. Strictly Midwest country. Not from your country. Yeah, I got it. Alright. Um... I'm just kind of... Alright, until we can start walking away. So, we got to look away. We've got to go to the saloons. We're going to go to the little hospital tents. We're going to every single place to look for this guy. So, no one has street-wise. Nooooooo! Who might... Who might... Someone leave us. Who might street-wise street-wise street-wise. Should I roll? Yes. Okay. Alright, so you're going to roll the one glitter one. And then what's your, um, skill... ...and that, but dice. Oh, D6? Yup. So, two D6. Another D6. Oh, two cubes. Alright. Come on, blink. Nice to meet you. So, you're going to go with the five. So, the five is your best for all target number. Like I said, defaults is four unless stated otherwise. So, that's a success. Yay! Cool! So, I'm glad we brought you along. Yes. I don't know how to top hit these people. I don't know how to talk to any people. I don't really know how to talk to any people. Most people. Not what most people are in here. So, there's sort of a tent, a shanty town between the fallen angel saloon known as reds. Oh, reds. I love your red. I love your reds. I love your reds. That's one of my favorite joints. Yeah. I don't describe reds again. Well, it's more of a gambling hall. Uh-huh. The fallen angels of saloon and reds. It's a saloon, but it also has poker and pharaoh tables. And a dirty art piece, right? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Right. Yeah. Edge mistake. Edge mistake. Right. Um, but the-- But the young people there. Yeah. But the shanty town between the two-- Not that I'm assuming anything. Saloon is ironically known as sally town. Oh. Uh-huh. That is a hard one. But a lot of small time, um, you know, sort of freelance prostitutes are operating out of that area. And docs already treated several of them. Oh, God. Oh, yeah. As well as the fourth. Yeah. That's true. I remember that now. The first of Connery. Um... Oh, no! Yes. Yes. That was pretty bad. Oh, God. Oh, God. Yeah. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. I love that. Because when I said you also treated the first of Connery, (laughter) Of course. (laughter) So, um... (laughter) Anyway, with Lily's, uh, you know, way with people of that persuasion, uh, you ask around. Grandville hasn't been anywhere in Sally Town. Mwah. Um, and then out to the more respectable side of town, and of course, the processing station, you do finally find out that he, uh, actually took a, um, late night, um, personal train out of town last night after the show. Oh. Um, he was going to, uh, head down to Los Angeles to conduct some business. Uh-huh. Personally, no idea. Yeah. Yeah. Like his own train car? Yeah, his own car, yeah. Well, instead of his own shipping company. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright, so... Dang it. So he has no idea. And a telegram to, um, to make sure he comes to have him come back as soon as possible. Yeah. There's a... I think he would be back soon because of the social and his behalf. Absolutely, yeah. It's just a matter of time. Yeah. Okay. It is early. Yeah, it is. Alright, so we'll just have to wait for him to come back. And thank you. Lily, right? Yes. Okay. Yeah, apparently, uh, Los Angeles setting up its own private docks down at Los Angeles. Reverend Graham. He's behind us. You think? He's up to something. Well, he is a religious guy, right? Yeah, he is. Yeah, huh? Somewhat of a fanatic, he might say. Yeah. Big um, Jesus. Mmm. And then he's got that hitch one. Sister Amber. Oh. Oh, my gosh. Oh. Oh. The music. Oh, yeah. I smashed like her. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. She feeds in and feeds out. Oh, my gosh. It's like a silent movie that you think you're like, like. All right, tell me. Well, I say to go back to jailhouse and at least let that vagrant go since Kurtz himself tested the man did not really have the man. He's got no significance. I'm gonna release Otis as such. All right. So, I'll go back to the cell. Yeah. A little more so you're free to go. Well, I'm sure to thank you. How are you feeling? Uh, I hope you feel a lot better as soon as I get out of tradition. I bet you. Yeah, I feel the same way. All right. I almost so say. Yeah. Do you know what Kongi, where's your town spirit? Where's your civic pride? The hug. You're awesome. I doubt your commitment to tradition. All right. So, basically, I'm just looking at you and you say that. No. And then I'm gonna sit at my desk, put my mover on my face and get it now. - I'm tired. - Hey doc, hey. - Hey, hey, hey. - Is it Lily? Is it Lily? Doc, here to go poke around in the house? - Wait, why is it going up? (laughing) - Oh my Christ, this is going. - Got that red leaf in your eye. - Well, as the sun's gone, maybe there's some interesting stuff. - Oh, I'm trying to poke at your curious, you know. - I'm not sure. - I'm curious, but else's might be in that house. - You never can't do it. - You never know. - Got them fancy goggles, yeah? - Yeah, let's go. Doo doo doo doo doo doo. (laughing) - Oh, so they're going sun-down. - They're going sun-down. - They're going sun-down. - Are you out? - I'm not in a station. - I'm not in a station. - I'm not in a station. - Grandphobe arriving at, by the way. - Oh. - Just one. - Presumably he's, it's like a trunk line that goes directly down to these new docs that are being done. - Oh, so is it possible there's a schedule? - Oh. - You could have a station, though. - All right, all up in my hand. - I'll have a card. - Mm. - It looks like Kong used me to be waiting for you. - But that's a good question. We should find out what he's doing back. - That's a great, that's a great thing. - Nope. - All right, so you mentioned that to me before we head back. Okay, so I'm gonna have to write Kong in, okay? - Look, look, look. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, so going to the station, when is the train from Los Angeles coming back? - Mm. Well, Marshall, they're barely talking to me. - Exactly. - They could barely look at me. - Yeah, he's like in a sitting sideways. Well, there's no real set schedule for that line. It's a Wasatch line, so, you know, Wasatch business, but basically went everywhere. So. - And now to walk away. All right, so basically, it's just gonna come in. When's the punch show show, what time is that starting? - That was set for three o'clock. - What time is it now? - About noon. So this time, time, it's gonna be like, are we like, they're like an hour outside of perdition? - Mm-hmm, yeah. - How many miles away is it? - Well, as a crow flies, it's not that far, but because of the twisted landscape. Yeah, if you were to take a horse, it would take you about four hours by train, it's. - Like one hour. - One hour, yeah. - And so he could show up like right at three, basically, possibly. - Okay, I am going to go back to the south and watch what's the name, okay? All right, and you guys are poking around. - Oh. - There's a fort? Sure. - So you're gonna recruit her to the back? Okay. - Absolutely. - All right, cool. I don't know about this. - We gotta get information from people. - All right. (laughing) - This is yelling in one of the charisma bonus. - Yeah, exactly. No, none of us have any charisma. - I wouldn't know, no, we're going. Let's go. - All right. - So returning to the house then? - Sure. - As long as I can. - As long as I can. - Yeah, absolutely. The door is unlocked. - Oh yeah, I took his key from him so you have the key. - All right, go ahead. - Yeah, I took his key from him. - Okay. - Okay. - It's just like, it happened before now. - Yeah. - Yeah, it happened during role-playing. - It's a reasonable section, it's fine. - I'm surprised I didn't, that's why when you said he had a key around his neck, I'm like, I'm thinking I wouldn't have taken that, but I didn't make it specifically clear, so I did take his key. - Okay. - And I gave him the key. - The key has been took. - Yes. - Okay. So we enter, take a big beautiful doors open. - Yes. - The goggles come on. (laughing) - Yes, I love it. (laughing) - Give me a weird science role. - Oh, yes. - No need to be six. (humming) - Four. - Okay, good enough. So you slip the goggles on and you see everything through this eerie, gray, green sort of. - Yes, ma, yes. - Nice. - Good one, good word. - Yeah. - This is a good word. - No. (laughing) - I don't know how you agree with that. - Word said that, Word said. - I'm glad. - Oh, it's a squad. (laughing) That's bad. - Yeah. - So, but yeah, I mean, otherwise it looks like the house just through this weird lens. - Right, well, this is the house and I'm grabbing the stairs. - Okay. - Give me a notice. - Yes, yes. - Yes. - Let's do this. - Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. - Come on. Break it out. What is it? - Do you? - Yes. Go. - No, wait, no. - Yes. - I do not accept this. - I do not accept this. - No, I don't either. I do even one of my chips. - And an extra D6. - All right. - Oh, blue. - Oh, yes. - No petal blue. - Yep. - And an extra D6 to my three. I had a four. - Nice. - Oh, thank God. (laughing) - As you, as you come to the top of the steps, you see some motion out of the corner of your eye. - No. Follow. - Okay. Hey, I see something. Where are you going? (laughing) - There's one. - Oh my God. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Just okay. - Okay. So you see up ahead of you, you know, a bunch of doors. One of the doors up towards the end of the hall and the left is a jar. - Right. - And there's some greenish sunlight coming in. - All right. - All right. - So, heading in through there. - Home. - You come in through that door. - Yes. - You see there's a big, you know, bank of window, you know, four poster bed. - This is not like night vision though. - Okay. - This is not going to play. - Okay. - Oh! - Oh my gosh. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Chiruses. - Yeah. - Yeah. (laughing) - Um, no, big four poster bed, trowels, you know. - Yeah, um, wardrobe. - It's very... - But the, but you're out of the drawing of the window. - Opulence. - Yes. - Because standing there is like this eight foot tall human face figure that through which the light is passing. - No. - Okay. And then you can see like basically it's just the shadow and then you see like, you know, the eyes, like just the empty holes, right? - Yeah. - Yep. - And then it sort of grins, which is like the shadows sort of spinning into a grin. And then it just flies right at... - Whoa! (laughing) - So I'll need a guts roll. - Oh my gosh. This is your gut. - Nothing. - I have guts. - No! - Yes. - Oh my God. Okay. - Right. - So if they're behind quad... - Yes. - So you guys are hustling up the stairs. - Oh yeah. - Okay. - So I don't think we have any of what's going on. - Ah, I got a two or three and a piece of chip. Red chip. - Use it. - Red chip and a D6 to the total car about. - Oh hell, it's your card question. My card is Arcane Spike, a character with an arcane background that would be me. - Yes. - May activate a damage-causing power they could normally use. - Ah yeah. - Okay. - This activation costs no power points and deals double damage. - What? - The character must make a vision. - Unfortunately, you don't have any damage-causing powers. - No, I do not. - All right. - Okay. - No use, but I have this chanda chip. - Okay. - Add to my two... - Thank you. - A three. - Okay. - Five. - Five. Okay. Let me take a look at if there's any- - And I'm a doubting Thomas, so I- - I know. I think- - It's like one of my looks. - It's super natural. - I'm pretty sure this is a projection from a competitor across the street, some kind of a lamp, some kind of a bogus lamp contraption, using films or some kind. - That is how you would rationalize it. - However- - You suffer minus two to your guts check, when confronted with undeniable supernatural horror. - Oh, it's deniable, my friend. (laughter) - Anything's deniable. - It's intensely deniable. - Well, anything's deniable. But in the moment- - All right, for nonsense. - Yes. - In the moment, you have this shadowy, you know, atrocity flying- - A smiling thing. - A gritty- - Eight feet tall. - Right. - Yes. - Great one. - I don't have them fanta goggles here. I don't know. - What do you feel- - Yeah. - Do they sense or feel anything? - Well, hold on. I'm gonna see- - All right, okay. - I'm gonna see what that guts checks. - I'm just saying, Eureka. (laughter) Eureka. - I have found it. Oh my God. If we could just get to the base of this ghastly projection we'll find out. - So we have to burn this out. - Pretty much. - Pretty much. (laughter) - Let's hope it wasn't gonna come to that again. - Burn it. - Or buy it. - Or buy it. - The basement. Buy it. What do you do with the basement? - It was a reference to our last game. - Yeah. - When we were trying to burn all the houses or I was buying them. - Oh, it's right. - It was pretty good. - I ended up with my own estate and two new ones. - And it's out of house for us. It was awesome. - Yeah. - Buy the haunted mansion. - Buy that haunted mansion. - Oh, there's no more dripping pool with blood that miraculously appears at the night. - It's fine. - Yeah. - It's okay. - It's fine. - It's all good. It was so fun when things went that bad. (laughter) - Oh, it was awesome. - All right. That was great. I know. - So the thing flies at you. - Oh, my God. - It flies at me. - It flies at you. - Oh, my God. - You recoil the voluntarily. - Yes, of course. - You shake it. - Yes. - Okay. - So you guys get to the top of the stairs around the corner. You see Quad kind of like... - Ugh. - Like kind of flying back out of this room. - Yes. - A million of arms. - Sure. - But with no visible cause. - Oh, my God. - Oh, we can't see it. - You can't see it. - Whoa, what's going on? - What is that? - It's you. - So kind of a specter directly in front of me. (laughter) - A specter. A specter. Can you see it? Can you see it? It's grinning. (laughter) - One right there's a layer. - And cut. (laughter) - Now, at this point, you can't see it anymore either even with your... - Yeah. - Oh, is it gone or do I just not see it? - You don't see it. - Duh! - Run for your lives. (laughter) - Something in this house is unwholesome. - Shut up. - Okay. - I think you're crazy. - Oh. - That says maybe ma'am. - Run. (laughter) - I'm not so crazy. You're finishing crazier. (laughter) - All right. Well. Okay. That's crazy. So, I'm stampedeing out the front door. - Okay. - And I'll just wait if y'all want to go have a look. I'll just wait out here. - Yeah. I do want to have a look. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Do I listen then? What not? - I'm curious. - All right. All right. Have a look. Let's see around. - Yeah. I'm going to poke around. It's the master bedroom. Oh, come on. Curiosity is my major thing. - I know. - I know. - You have to. - All right. She's curious too. - Sure. - Totally. Wait. Can they use the glasses? - Nope. - Oh. - It's been on a weird science. I'm not weird. - Once quad gets up behind the level, we can start making inventions that other people can use. - All right. - Right now it's. You got to know. - That caused me two points to use. - Wow. Okay. Okay. - What's up? - So. - All right. - You guys are back in? - Yes. - Quiet. You know. - I think we stayed at the top of the stairs. - Oh, you didn't even go out. - No. They were just like, what the fuck? - Yeah. - Yeah. - I still have my pistol out, but I'm going to go peek and look at the bedroom. - And I'm going to sort of pull mine out too. - Yeah. - Which was hidden away. - Yeah. - Yeah. - How do you go? - Very nice. - All right. - So. - All right. So you. - Yeah. - You bet your recipe. - So this is a wide character. Is he? It's what is he smoking? (laughter) - Well, this is slowly above it. You out here, you get used to seeing things. You ain't never seen before. (laughter) - Like a guy like that. - I've seen plenty. Well, you're going to see more. (laughter) - Well, he's a good man, scientist. Touch awkward, but. (laughter) - Well, he's a good man. He's no liar, no fooling. He's a smoker. Touch off. - Good to know. Good to know. (laughter) - All right. So. - We're meeting our unwholesome fates here. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Oh, you're going to go back in there. - Really? - You're dead, but I can't tell you why. (laughter) Give away too many secrets. - Oh, okay. - You head down the hall. - I made you reveal too much of one card. - Yeah, exactly. Oops. - Oh, my God. - Oh, my God. - It's good though. I love that stuff. - It's good. It's great. - I like it. - Nice. - It's nice. - He's a door open. (laughter) It just looks like this, you know, actually rather pleasant bedroom. You know, it's sunlit. The furniture, as I described before. This time, you know, since you're not being terrorized, do you notice a few more details? One of which are five portraits hanging above the mantle of the fireplace in the room. - Oh. - There you go. - Oh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh. - Oh, my gosh. - Oh, my gosh. She was quite beautiful. Oh my gosh. She's teeth. Yeah, here we are. That's a little work. No. All right, so there's nothing else that they see. I'm gonna poke her on over by the bed though. That's why, you know, like maybe he's gonna desk or... Well, there is an empty course. And searching the drawer as you find a doggy or bible. And an account store. It's not weird. It's certain places. No, I just mean well, well thoughtless, you know. And an account's book. Which, you know, kind of will greet to you. So, yeah. Great. You can go check into your granville's room as well. Good idea. So you find that at the other end of the hall and it's laid out much the same way for poster wardrobe. In place of the cameos above the fireplace, there's instead a large, like 5 by 8, oil portrait of machete curds. Oh my gosh. You know, you can look at the hairstyle. That's not weird at all. No, not at all. No, it's not at all smooth. Suddenly. Oh my God. And it's like, it's like, it's like, you know, positioned in a way that like if you were lying in bed, you would be looking right there. No, you were there. That does sound unwholesome. Yes. So the father signed up a very intense relationship. Yeah. You know, searching the door is there though. You do find actually a larger print of one of the cameo photos from the master bedroom. So it's, you know, where it's number 5. Oh, number 5, the most recent one. The grand old mother, right? The grand old mother, yeah. But that was in the drawer, as I say. So. That's weird. So are there any other rooms up top of interest? Nothing really. You know, empty, empty rooms meant for, you know, storage or guests or what have you. Can't be seeing the remainder of the house turns up little else of, you know, spurious interest. It's a quad. Where are you right now? You run back to the front porch. Okay, you're just hanging out there? Yeah. Shaking in your head between your knees. I've kind of been an eyeball. Yeah. On the street, just in case. Kind of breaking window, maybe. Okay. It's a dying to come back and tell you. All right. I'm waiting. All right. I guess. Periodically, you see them kind of move. Cast the window. The curtain rustling. Oh, it's just down. So, can you put the goggles back on? Do you want to put the gold? What am I created? Yeah. All right. On that lovely note. Come out and... Come out? Nothing? We'd search top of the bomb. We didn't find a darn thing. The shadows were pretty scary, though. It's my pleasure to leave you to your innocence. Oh, I get this. Hold on to it for a long time. Yeah, exactly. Whatever way you made. Oh. So. All right. Would you rather go back during the night of the day? I can see it enough. I wander in to your jailhouse. I've seen it. I've seen it enough. What did you see? Does your demon not speak to its origins, however? It was a large specter. So, demon eyes. Yeah, that's a demon. All right. Well, let me take you into the side room. Oh, my God. We had another classic moment in the train. I'm scared. No. It's serious. This is, like, really serious business. Oh, I can run to the bathroom. Yes. There we go. On the left, right? Yeah, the first door on the left. Oh, left left. That was left, yes. Oh, no, I did it 10 minutes before. Wait for it. Ah, there we go. Yes. Oh, oh, Edie. It's had just the best bone. They're just the best bone. When she's standing and eating it, that's what I know. It's like she's really into it. She's like, yeah, this is the best bone. I can't figure it out, look. I'm so excited about your job. That's awesome. Yeah. Just kind of, like, yeah, unfurled. So, hopefully things will go. Do you have a feeling about it? I think so. They're really nice. They actually, they weren't going to call me until Tuesday. They don't let me know if I got the job or not, but they called me like two hours after my interview. Oh, wow. They're nice to me to come in for orientation tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah. Are there other people who got hired around the same time? I think they hired a couple, but they're in different departments. That's kind of cool though, to have people that you're like, yeah, we're all new. Yeah. What about the only newbie? Right. You got seniority. Yeah. Working way up the ladder. It's funny how that goes. Next thing you know, the G.M. Well, technically Renee has seniority since she did game with us two years ago. No, technically. How many episodes? How many? Was it three? See, I don't know. I think she's got seniority. You were four. Who? Who does? Renee? She only gave a few times with us. She did? Yeah. Yeah, but Jen, I mean, Jen, you met with Jen and Bill and, well, yeah, I made it all. Check out how I think about it too compared to Jay. Oh, yeah. Who's got seniority? Oh, you guys were having a conversation. I don't even know what you were talking about. I don't know. I'm sorry. Yeah. I'm like, what is going on? I'm confused. Me too. Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you feel a little bit wet. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry you're confused. Right, right, right. If anything, I said offended you. Oh, God, sorry. The non-apology is the most satisfying thing that we give some of them. Like, I'm sorry you feel that way. I really am. Yeah. Non-apology, nothing to do with you. I'm nervous now. He should be. So that's what you're saying? No. Okay. We're good. All right, so... Did you tell us if we should be? Yeah. She would. She would. She'd not. She's like, "Oh!" Oh, my God. That's a good chair. That's a good chair. That was a good one. Oh, that's a bump. I'm just thinking that, like, Celestia, you know, like... Totally. Totally. Oh, my God. Yeah, our last campaign with the Gaslight Cthulhu is just, like... Crazy roller coaster. I think that is on a lot of levels. The roller coaster has several levels. It was real. But yeah, it was an experience, so... Yeah. No. All right, so you're going to come back to... I'll come back to you. There, and you're telling me about this. And I'll tell you in. And I'm seeing my spirit. And you believe me, wouldn't you? Um... Would you... Or maybe you wouldn't. You're the one who said it was a demon. I think it's a demon. I really do. And when you're saying that, I'm thinking that's a demon. From all the stories that I heard about different spiritual entities. Yeah. That sounds like a demon to me. So you two saw it. Do you come back? Yeah, we all came back together. So what did you see? What did you see on "Darn Thing"? No. Those traits were lovely, though. I'm sure Sally picked them out. [laughter] She was, by the way, great. Those priorities. There you go. And so I see you clutching the frame. Oh, yes, yes. So I'm like, this is that your friend? Yes. So I look at it and shake my head and I hand it back to you. Okay. So I go back into... He's in the cell. Yeah, he is. Is he? Yeah, he's right there. Just say it. Like Andy Griffith style. I mean, they're there. He's like in this little cell. Like, but there's the desk. And so basically... So I think what we're going to do is... Do you want to talk to him about this? Because he told you that he said it was an angel. Do you want to talk about it? I'll come with you, hold your hand. [laughter] Oh, you know exactly what's going on. Okay, so when that happens, I'm just like... [laughter] All right. So, okay, so we're going to go to the cell. And, uh, so I say Mr. Kurtz... Yes? Co-aud asked to ask you some questions. I just want to say Mr. Mayor. [clears throat] Yeah, yes, Doc. No, I'm saying. Telling her, correcting her. Oh. Mayor Pertullis. Oh, Mr. Mayor. [laughter] Oh, it's fair for that. I know it's true. Mr. Mayor, you want to talk to... I want to talk to Mr. Kurtz about his heart of darkness. [laughter] Okay, I'm gonna just... [laughter] I'm just gonna stand back. I'm gonna stand back. Very nice. I saw the figure. I saw this figure that you call an angel, and by God, it is a devil, so... [laughter] What does he do? Looking at his face, I'm watching him. I'm watching him. Give me a notice for him. I don't have any good notice. Can I do a notice? Anyone in the room can do it for all? Yeah, someone please. Please notice. I'm gonna notice on my behalf. Eight. Uh-huh. Okay. I got a four. And a two. Let's go with four. Yay! Do you want a notice? Sure! A notice? Oh, no, I don't. Uh-huh. I have a notice for him. You can try a rolls on skill, but in this case, it's yeah. Yeah, I try. Point. Um... Um... Um... He seems, uh, unphased, but doc, you notice he looks a little uncomfortable. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Well, Angel's gonna be bad. Mr. Kurtz. Oh. She has a bone to pick with him. Yes. A skull to pick. What did this Angel tell you about this woman? Oh! Ooooh! Ooooh! Ooooh! Whoa! Uh, I'm sorry, but, uh, you know, if you read your Bible, you know that sometimes the angels tell the mortals to do things that they would rather not do. She was a lovely woman, but I had to do the Angel's bidding. And what would the Angel have against a woman like Sally? That's between... That's between... Of the eyelashes. Yeah? Mmm. Where is my... Yeah, we're gonna make her as well. Ah, well... [laughter] That's, uh, that's for her and the Lord. That's a... Reckon. Don't worry. Don't worry. The Lord isn't here right now. [laughter] The Lord is attending the Punch and Piousle, shall we? Exactly. Good night. Good night. So basically, um, you need to, you need to tell us the truth. [clears throat] What? Your control. My lawyer? Is he here yet? No, he's not. Well then, I'm not gonna say anything further. That's true. Kick him in the face if I fit right now. [laughter] What do you do, Justice? Yeah. I'm gonna go in there. [laughter] Go and, like, walk it. [laughter] No, I'm not gonna do that. Alright. What time is it? Let's get on for the social. Alright, so... I just have a go and check for Grenville. You do... You guys need to do that. I need to keep an eye on this guy. Do you miss a social? He's not a social? I can't have him escape. I'll bring you some popcorn. Please do. Well, I don't really like it, but... But who doesn't like pie? It just depends on the pie. But I'll bring you some simple popcorn. Bring me something you think I'll like. Okay. Alright. I'll accept it. [laughter] I don't like pie. If they haven't, you'd have to eat me now. Aww. [laughter] Really? [laughter] I have races. I have a pie in my life. [laughter] Pepsi. I was just sure I'm gonna like see writing about, you know... Pepsi. I don't want drinks, Pepsi. Okay. [laughter] It's like the drink of the choice. It's the drink of the choice. I guess your stomach is struggling. I'm not feeling too good. No. Well, there's a flying specter apparently haunting this man. It's the reason we need to keep an eye on him. Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on him. I'm not gonna let this guy escape under my watch. It's the last thing I need. Good point. So, you want to go to the social? Oh. I'll go to the social. Yes. And have a good time. I'm just checking at the end of the night with me. Blueberry. Do you like blueberries? Okay. It doesn't like blueberry pie. [laughter] Oh. So, what's the social? Is there a little band? There is, actually. Yes. And Granville Kurtz is there. Oh, wow. And he's, you know, quite a few people turned out. Fred Alston from the Harbinger's there. Lacey. Lacey O'Malley. Basically, they've got this contact. He's a freelance reporter named Lacey O'Malley. He writes for the tombstone epitaph. That sounds cheery. [laughter] It is. It is. It is. It is. Mom's swimming festivities are rather underway. They are. Does anyone come up to him and suddenly, "Hey, your dad killed me by the pie?" As soon as I'm deputy, I'm going to go up to him and pull him aside and ask for a private conversation. Okay. Oh. And he says, "I'd be happy to talk to you, but I want to make a little announcement." I understand. [laughter] So, he-- Just let myself next in. Yeah. I'll wait right here. [laughter] So, he hops up on-- I guess I've already done my number. Hmm? Oh, introducing-- I was lost in the woods. Not my singing thing. [laughter] You know, I'm a singer. Uh, no, no, there hasn't been a chance for that yet. Oh, okay. And things are just getting underway. You know. Well, it's like, "Why would I know about this?" Yeah, you're good. So, in fact, you know, he gets up and he says, "Well, before we really get underway, everyone." And have a little-- have some refreshments and song and so forth. You know, I want to address the elephant in the room. [laughter] Wow. More like a friend. Like, "God, I don't even know." Spend there in the room. I have a forest-- I have a word of the unfortunate circumstances that took place last night in this morning. And I want to assure you all that I will be-- [laughter] I will be talking with my father later today to attempt to determine what exactly we can do to help this very sick man find the rehabilitation that he needs. I love a good sanatorium. [laughter] Still around. It's so hot. [laughter] Hey, it didn't fall all the way down. I don't trust it. No, it's really short. It's hot as sanatorium in the maze. It's so hot right now. [laughter] All right, so-- I don't know what it's called. Keterson's. It's great. They've got everything. [laughter] They've got everything. They've got everything. You've been lost. Like nurses. Stitch men. [laughter] Such an amazing thing. Crazy professors. You're right. Um... Yes, so he says, "I just want you all to know that this will not affect my plans for the election." [laughter] That's a few things. Yeah. [laughter] And I hope that I can count on your continued support in that regard. Yes. Okay. And so there's a round of polite applause. Uh-huh. [applause] I'm sure the drill is swirling around the hole. Oh, very much so, yes. He's trying to make the best of him. Is Luke the poor in the audience? No. The Joker is over. No, he's not. Oh, I'm sorry, Joker. The Joker? Is the Joker there? I can't believe he's going to be the Joker. Like, why is so serious? Yeah. [laughter] That was Joker. That's a campaign slogan. I was like, "Oh, I don't know why." Yeah, it's totally. Or like, a well-busty's Romero, like, shit. Yes! That makes me happy. That makes me happy. So I've been in some every night. He won't. He won't. Okay. [laughter] Cool. [laughter] Okay. Okay. Okay. So, um... Yeah. So, anyway. Okay. Deputy. All right. So, what's that pie? Thanks, Deputy. Yes, there's pie. Is that your face of the pie table going, "I don't know which one she would like." [laughter] I don't think I'm like, "God damn it. [laughter] So, what do they got in the planes? I'm back to it. [laughter] I got more important business too, Ted. Mr. Kurtz. Yes. All right. Yeah. Of course, I'm here stepping to Marshall to put you through some questioning about your father. Of course. I do have to ask. Did you have any idea of the unusual nature of your father's hobbies? [laughter] Even you lived in the same house. If I could be perfectly candid with you. I am barely holding it together right now. Oh. Oh. I absolutely understand Granville and I thank you for your time. Yeah. Um, I hope you do understand, you know, we do need to sit you down for proper question before we can't have you speak with your father. So, after the pine-punch social, if you would kindly come back with me to the jailhouse, speak with the Marshall, that would be most appreciated. That's fine. Yes. I appreciate your letting this go forward as planned. Yes, well. Not quite how I intended to kick off the campaign, but. I can imagine. [laughter] Yes, well, the less draw that little town like this, the better. We've all had quite enough. Yeah. Alright. So, Lily, does the number? Yes. You've seen that? Get up and do your thing. Oh. I love California, can you share? [laughter] I love California. Oh my God. It's so great. [laughter] You know, standards. Yeah. [laughter] Look at that. You do a lovely acapella. [laughter] A red hat chili paper paper. Yeah. Right. [laughter] And, uh-oh. Nice. So the, uh, so the squad enjoy this. The squad enjoying. Of course. How could they not? You're really happy. Okay, good. Sorry, my song brings me to pie. I know. Yes. What's not to like. Hopefully we'll get rid of this idea of the specter. What? Oh. No, I wouldn't ask. You guys are bringing it off. Lacey O'Malley. Yes. Because Lacey is all about exposing the weird, true, and maybe not so true. [laughter] With all the wild west. [laughter] Remains to be seated. Yes, yes. Lacey, I, uh, I take it you've heard rumor. Some of the strange things have been going on. Going around here. Uh, yes, very much so. And, uh, as one of the people who went into the house, I'd like to put your, uh, first-hand account. Well, at the moment, we are still conducting our investigation, I'm sure. Really? You have a jurisdiction here? Yes. [laughter] I'll do whatever my martial tells me. You'll take one look at her, you'd do it too. [laughter] That's why, uh, I thought I was wondering. [laughter] But I was wondering. Off the record, I suppose? Sure. Oh, yeah. Never off the record. [laughter] You can make it a few. I'm still starting. You're supposed to be off the record, please. [laughter] Yeah, you can. You can. Have you heard any talk of, um, say, angels coming down, speaking to people, telling them to do and what not, possibly related to the guardian angels? It's City of Los Angels. Ah. Um. Oh. No. [laughter] No! But... Yes? It's all, uh, short answer, no with a butt. [laughter] But what? I'm not a little pretty to say. Oh, man. Really? Perhaps after the election, we can talk. Come on, whiskey, lacy! Whiskey help out! [laughter] I already got one. [laughter] Man. [laughter] We've only had another one of those cards. [laughter] Yeah. Seriously. Yeah, card wise, not doing too good here. Alright. Hm. Oh, the closest to that. I don't know what to do about that. There's only information from the only recognizable law enforcement in tradition. Let me just say it has no impact on current goings on it. But you might as well have to wait until after the election. Ha! It's a good question. We'll see you there. I'll see you there. Oh, no. That sounds sad. That sounds even worse, remember. Oh. Lacy. [laughter] He's such a weird, strange trick-street character. I feel like putting you in jail because you pissed me off. [laughter] It's not the first time I've heard that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm pretty sure the marshal wouldn't have too much of a problem with that. No. No. I mean, I have four jail cells, right? You just had to pick it. I'd pick it in jail and wouldn't worry. I'd never. I'd never. Not really. Alright. So. So we go back. So is the cells still going on? There's anything else someone wants to do? Looking around the room. Observing things. Are you there? No. No. I'm just giving it to you. [laughter] Shh. I'm chair of the armchair. [laughter] Look around the room. Well, I think he's probably out of bed. Oh. I was just, and I think he's probably outside, so. Is it indoors? Well, the church isn't completed yet. So it's inside the church, but there's no roof. So it's a little bit above. Oh, there's like bugs everywhere. Oh, yeah. Oh, God. Oh, God, yeah. That was bleak. But you all find yourselves, you know, of course, gorging on the pie. Because we're hungry. Yeah. There's a strange sort of hunger that persists out here on the maze. That's right. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Never quite satisfying hunger. It was unwholesome, but for block, with people's basements. Oh, yeah. All right. I'm gonna bring Kongi some blueberry pie. All right. I don't know. You have to eat it. Do you eat all of it? Yeah, you tend to. What? Then you eat it on the way back. Oh, wow. [laughter] Oh, I told you to come in. Oh, you come in. You come in. I'm like, so where's my pie? [laughter] You like, uh, uh. Sorry. He's smiling like he's purple tongue. [laughter] All right. And I just, I just kind of go. I just shake my head. No. And, um, so would you all find out? Is Grandma there? Grandma was there. He did agree to come back and undergo questioning. So where is he? Well, at the end of his social, I thought it'd be nice and let him finish it out. You didn't keep an eye on him until you came over here? No. [laughter] Your deputy ships on the line. [laughter] Well, considering he came back after the fact. No, I know. No, you did the right thing. You still run for election? No, we don't want to scare him off. But I did pull aside Lacey O'Malley. I'm asking him if by any chance he'd heard of this sort of a thing before and he said yes, but no. And refused to talk to me about it until he said, "After the election, during which we shall see..." That's really ominous. I don't say ominous, but that's not helpful at all. Well, Marshall, I don't know what else to tell you. Well, thank you for finding out that information and for not bringing me pie. So I'm going to check out Mr. Kurtz. All right. How's he doing? Uh, he's doing fine. Okay. I gave him like some cornmeal mush and a pot of passion. Yeah. Good, good things, good things. Yeah, it's good stuff. Has he just been silent? Has he been weird? Has he been praying? What's he been doing? Oh, yeah, just kind of, you know, living inside himself. Hmm. So anyway, could I sit with Grindville after my performance at his table in India? Very good. Nice. It's nice to have somebody on the inside that can actually like work people. Yeah. Because like we've been like, "We're going to shoot you." Exactly. We're going to run away from this thing and I'm going to use an invention. It's nice to have somebody. It's good to have someone with like, you know. Skills? Yes. Well, people skills. Although Doc has good people skills too. Not quite the same, though. No, it's not the same level, but still, you still have good people skills. I'm not awkward as hell and I'm the outsider. Yeah, exactly. So, sitting by Grindville, being a song birdie. It's trying to keep up a good face, you know. Mm-hmm. I get him to drink some more. Okay. Oh. Oh. Yeah. You spilled your pie all over. That's right. Oh. I'm just going to clean up. Um. Yep. So, you know, he engages you in light conversation, you know. Mm-hmm. How long are you planning on staying? Certainly been nice to have you here, you know, to help chase away some of the, you know. Some of this evil news that's come to light. Mm-hmm. That's how he faces it, evil news. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That's kind of weird, so. But, you know, definitely seems distracted. Okay. Yeah. I would have tried to get him a bit drunker. Oh, nice. Nice. I like how he sure works. Yeah. Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So, yeah, no, he gets, yeah, he gets a little, little theory there. Yeah. Mm-hmm. The dice decides. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he's holding down, okay. No, okay. Yeah, all right. Mm-hmm. Maybe it'll, maybe it'll shoot your hide. [laughter] Maybe it'll shoot your hide from the pie? Yeah, probably. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All right. So. Uh-huh. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hopefully this, uh, hopefully this won't affect my chances. I don't know. Oh. Oh, you're just such a sweet man? Well, thank you, ma'am. But, um, take more than sweetness to it. We'll see. We'll see. Run this town. I know, uh, I know Mr. Alston's, uh, gonna support me in his paper, but I don't know if that's gonna be enough. But you didn't have anything to do with what your dad was up to, did you? Oh, no, but he's, he's been so instrumental in everything in my life so far. It's hard to say. Not that instrumental, I think. So. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Hey. Hey. What are you doing? I'm with you. I'm with you. That's okay. I'm with you guys. Yeah, I know that quad will just stay behind with me for a moment. Yeah. Oh, okay. Come on. Oh, you're doing it. Get back there. Yeah, yeah. Some coaching. Okay. Got her bottle of good stuff. Okay. So, can I, can I. Oh, yeah. I got your question to Mr. Kurz. The younger. How did the meeting go? Oh, fine. Just working on, uh, the new setup that Wasatch is developing now at the ports. It's gonna be a separate, uh, company controlled port. You know, the Reverend, he's got his, he's got his, uh, finger and pie. Indeed. All the other, uh, uh, uh, no pun intended. Of the, uh, all the other-- Sir, get your finger out of my pie. Of all the other shipping concerns down there, but that was part of the deal was that Wasatch gets their own port. And, uh, as we are, uh, under contract with them, then we're just working out of the details for that. I have a question. I have an answer. I have an answer. Yes, yes. Is this dock in the same area where those bodies were buried? No, no, this is down in Los Angeles. Oh, okay. Ah. I kind of reversed it in my head. Sorry. I just wanted to check it out. Okay. Thank you. Mm-hmm. So, you know, so we've had some, some trouble with the Reverend Graham's followers. They can be a little bit violent. Perhaps more violent than it's fitting for a civilized civilization. Civilization. Society. Society. Social fabric. Have you found that to be the case here in Perdition? Well, uh, you know, of course, uh, they come up through ghost town. They never really had a whole lot to do with the, or processing station. Right. Now that a town's growing, we might have to deal with them a little bit more. When you're mayor, are you going to recognize them and sovereign for this land? I'm going to keep as close to Wasatch as I can, whatever that may entail. So, what do you mean that's a mighty sticky point you guys have to be told you? Well, that's why it's nice to have a corporation behind you in these sorts of situations. Okay. All right. So, waiting for Granville to come to the Marshall's station office place. Well, it's probably going to go and collect them. Okay. And of course, this will be, uh, the event breaks up and, uh, doc, you pick up Granville. And, um, take them back to Marshall's office. All right. Since they're questioning him. Are we all going? Mm-hmm. We're all going. Mm-hmm. Um, so you're saying you weren't aware of your father's misdeeds. That is what I'm saying. Did you tell you were a lead to an angel or spiritual presence in your home? No. That was telling him to do these things. I never knew there was anything that he was doing to begin with. My father's a religious man. He would speak of God and providence and so forth. But, you know, I always assumed that, uh, he was, uh, whatever he was doing was, uh, just for the better, the better man himself and, and me. And his five wives. Mm-hmm. You know, what do you have to say about that? You know, he, he, uh, told me that, uh, you know, about each one of their deaths from various causes, including my mother, who he claimed died of, uh, consumption. But, surely, after number three, at least, you would have started to suspect something. Oh, yeah. My, uh... It's a fair amount of wives. Mm-hmm. And then number four, and then number five? Well, the last was my mother. And, uh, so that's, I never knew any of the others. And, um... No, I'm sorry. That's how it takes a while. There's a waste and disease. Well, now that I think about it, it, you know, this actually makes a lot more sense, but... Mm-hmm. Who is my father? Um, why do you have a huge picture of him in your bedroom? Well, he put that there. He put it there? Mm-hmm. Why? He just says, you know, there to remind me of who was watching over him. Okay. Who do you say? When you go in the house, you gotta, you have, did you pull the picture from the wall? No Marshall, I didn't. Mm-hmm. All right, um, anyway, so back to the questioning. Uh, and if there's any questions you all think of this, please try me. Had you never been to the basement, son? There we go. There you go. There you go. We have a good one. Well, I couldn't. My father had the key. Oh! He didn't smell anything because we smelled... Until we opened the second door to be found out. That's true. Okay. That was pretty bad. Were you ever curious? Of course. What are your hindrinses now? Um, let's see. What do you think your chances are to become mayor now? I don't know. I don't know. I'll need all the help I can get. Mm-hmm. All right. Um, what? That's a bit ominous. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Let's see. Is he going to say anything to his father? Yeah, they're gone. They're going to converse? Mm-hmm. I'd like to hear that. Yeah, I can't be able to hear it, so you all have to... Oh! Like, hang out nearby. All right. So, I think, um, what we can do is... We've got to go back to that house and take that painting off the wall. You don't want to? No. Sure I do. I'm not looking forward to it. All right. It's a bit stinky. It is. And a quad. Oh, god. No, I'm scared. Okay. Um, the sun's going down. It is. You feel the organ music in your gut. Yeah. I feel this is not a good thing. It's sort of like what's playing right now. Yeah, exactly. It's sporting. All right, so... [laughter] Hey, old pun. [laughter] Don't lose your nerve. I was the first pun on the evening. My guts. Yeah. Very nice. So, um, quad... I want you to hang out with these guys. Sure. I want you to listen to what they're saying to each other. And I'm a little lady you need to stay with, quad. Sure thing. And then when you get quad. And then... You get quad. Yeah. And then... Do you know that the honey was capable of linking? Yeah. Well, I just know that he, like, just seems more gross. He's trying to be gross. Tacked full of them. Mm-hmm. Easy as you do. Yeah, a little... dip in. Mm-hmm. Okay. So, we're going to go to that house. We're going to check out the painting. Good morning. I'm going to grab my lame tree last time. Be careful. What would you recommend we do? Be careful. You're a special smoke pouch or what have you because there is something in the house that is unwholesome. All right. All right. All right. All right. What? You gotta have music. This is really scary. It is. Yeah. I feel queasy. I know. I'm feeling nervous. I know. I'm feeling nervous. I know. It feels really bad. This is a bad adventure. Oh. Oh. Oh. I usually don't feel that way, but I'm feeling like this is not good. This is not good. Thank you. All right. And so they went off to their deaths. I mean, they were never heard from again after she wrote a big long story. Better character. No. All right. So that happened in the past sister. It doesn't dictate what happens in the future. That's right. So off we go. Oh, I'm going to have my lantern. All righty. All right. So we're going. We're good to do this. So yeah, you head off to the north end of town, the Kurt's townhouse sitting up on that rise near the Wasatch Rail. The setting sun lighting up all the glass on the building. I'd look in that. You got me into. All right. Let's go. We opened up the door of the house. I'm going to go for some stealth here. Really? There's a fucking specter in that. People. There's some skulls. I don't know. I haven't really seen any. Well, I did see. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I remember. You know, that's an intimidation. So I'm ready. Let me know. I have stealth and I'm fast. And that's bad. All right. So we're going to go up the stairs. All right. Up the stairs to the bedroom. We have our candles. Oh my God, the music. Why? The candles are lanterns. I have a lantern. Yeah. And the candle. Okay. This place is going to land on fire so fast. I can feel it. All right. So, I'm. Heading up to the granddolls bedroom, granddolls bedroom there. Alrighty. Okay. So the portrait hanging there. The sun doesn't hit the side of the house. So the room is dark. We have the land turns up. We have the candles up. We're going to move the picture. Okay. You go to move it and it feels like it's mounted to the wall. All right. Meanwhile. Back down at the jailhouse. Yes. You two are just sort of killing time. Sitting at the desk in the front room. Yeah. Telling to the stories. Can we listen to what's going on? Yes. I'm scared for us. I'm scared for everybody. So it is a it is a tearful reunion between father and son. Really careful or like. Oh, okay. They actually love each other. Yeah. The elder elder Kurtz weeping openly and apologizing to Granville for the trouble that he's gotten himself into. Bad name he's given to the family. You know, Granville is saying, why Papa? Why? Why did you do it? Aw. His mum chops quivering. And you know, check basically, you know, just saying like, I don't want you to give up on your dream son. So keep going. You can be mayor of this town and make it something better. So far. Now this is going on. Oh my God. You guys here sort of a rising level of voices outside. Oh. The office. Really? Yeah. Seems like people are gathering on the street. What do you suppose they're doing out there? They don't have to punch sugar in. Yeah. Let's go check it out. We're eye on sugar. And those are the sugar, right? It's a predation. It's a predation. It's a predation. Oh. Oh, yeah. Open the doors. What do we find in the streets? Well, sure enough, there's a large crowd. Several dozen people. Yeah, torches. Yeah. Definitely torches. No, no pitch works, but lots of mining picks and shovels. The word has gotten out into the hinterlands, the miners who work the maces out in the maze have come in. And they were not pleased to hear this capitalist pig was killing women. And, you know, that's basically what they're shouting. You know, string them up. Holy raps. Meanwhile, that's a mansion. Oh, yes. That's a law enforcement officer. Yes. Yeah. Well, I'm sure glad there's not a lynch mob down there. So, like I say, it seems to be bolted to the wall. I'm going to try the guy for it all. Yeah. All right. That's right. I told her. Oh, here I've got it. Works very well, actually. No penalties due to lack of equipment. That's all. Oh, okay. Yep. So hmm. Well, let's see if you're trying to the guy or something off like that. Let's see. Don't act all put upon. Yeah, she's playing it good. I'm trying to say it's the best punch for my insolence. Push to the face of the stomach. I don't know. Shoulder punch? Right? Is that going to be more something like the suspect or push him out of the window? Oh, gosh. I was doing like a punch. Give him a good box in the ear. Jake, go ahead. Jake. Awesome, Jake, please. I mean, I have a little hair skill. Ah, that's what I was looking for. Yeah. That's what I have. Prepare. Prepare. Prepare. Oh, okay. What's she repairing? Well, if I'm taking something off, I might know how to put it on in the first place. Yeah. It basically covers. I got a six. Whoa. And a six. Whoa. There's two right off the wall. All right. Here we go. All the faces. Keep going. So it's 12, 5, 6, 17, and 21. No, that would be 11. Oh, so you rolled your six and then your six and five and then four. Okay. Got it. 17, 20, 20. Wow. Okay. Yeah. You did it again. Yes. Fireplace poker is obviously provided a good wedge to get the thing off its mountains and you do so without damaging any things in the wall. Congee, you're able to ease it off as it comes off the mountains. Behind is a safe wall mountain. Can I also have the guy for the crumb? I would be lock picking, but yes, you can. Yes. Go. Go. Go. If I'm doing it without the penalty, then I just rolling it a four with no minus two. You don't have one. I don't have one. Okay. So it would just be a normal default role, which is D four minus two. Well, sure. But I'll get the minus two. But for the MacGyver. The MacGyver would add a further penalty because you don't have lock picking tools. I mean, without the MacGyver, you would have a further. Oh, okay. Oh, I see. There's a crucial word there. I'm sorry. It's okay. So it is D four minus two. Okay. Yeah. I think it's necessary. Oh, of course. I've got a further word. And how do you do any while? That's three. Okay. So four. So it's two and one. Three. Okay. Add a D six. And a two. Two. Five. That's good enough. Yeah, that's great. All right. So yep and have your step to scope on you, of course. All right. How's it going? I'm doing the combination lock there. Be well, back at the jail. Back in jail. Running back in, shutting the door behind us. Really quad? No persuading the mess? No, not when the sun is there to do it. I'm not sure if I don't want this guy to die. Oh, it's a moral dilemma. I don't see any problem with stringing a lot. Really? He's going to get killed anyway. It's a difference. We just saw like tens of thousands of people get killed in that major blast. I don't really give a crap out of this one of them. So I'm going to run back to the cell. And I'm going to say, Kurt's they're off of your blood. They're off the street. This is it. It's quite stricken. Yes, as you should. Granville, they're going to kill your father. You want to say anything to them before they finally do it? So he says, "You're the mayor. You can't let that happen." This is perfectly all right with me. Oh, I think this one kills him a long time ago. I would tend to agree. Of course he does. I mean, he killed your mother. But he's also my father. I see her in a dilemma. I'd really much rather see the justice system take its due force. Okay. So what happened? Well, qualb's all for letting the lunch mom get him. Yeah, I don't know. He just took Granville to say his last word to his father. Are you serious? I don't have a problem with it. I saw somebody killed, died in that horrible ghost driving explosion. I don't give a shit about one man anymore. Don't go. Especially. But what if the angel decides to infect or influence others? You don't believe the angel? I don't believe the angel. No, but what if he has followers of some sort of care to speak to the girl, right? Maybe he can sing them a spell for you. I want him dead as much as anybody else. Oh, my gosh. All right. I'm not there, obviously. I'm the marshall, you're the mayor. I mean, those are your orders, right? Well, I closed the door on them. So you're just like letting them kind of like just stew out there? Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Stewing? All right. Lily doesn't have a problem with him dying either because her friend. Right. Well, obviously he needs to be punished, but okay. So we're at the house. Right. Well, I'll say, door pops open. Yes. There's a metal strong box unlocked. There's the deed to the house. There's a big sheaf of stock for the Kurtz export company. Mm-hmm. And that's it. That's all? Mm-hmm. What about the metal strong box? Is that one? Yeah. Yeah, open it up. Yeah. Of course. I'm curious. Yeah. Totally. Two hundred gold eagles. Oh. Yeah. Goggy. [laughter] This is hand reaching information. Yeah. [laughter] Did you do that? No, no, no. No, I don't think so. I just feel like, wow. I think that's a lot of money. Oh, shit. All right. No, I don't think so. I just feel like, wow. So, that's weird. Um, well, this is safe. Yeah, but I mean, I thought there'd be something better behind the... Wait, I'm going to look behind the portrait and see if there's any marks on it, like any signature dedication, anything like that. Um, there's nothing on the back. There was an artist signature on the front. It's the artist's name. You can't make it out. Oh, it's just blah, blah, blah. Great. I'm sure it's not one with a price. What? What did you say? Um, the other... Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. The movie... Uh, Amanda. What was it? Yeah, Melinda Price. Melinda Price. Yeah. Oh, okay. Like a steel trap. Yeah, it's good. It's great. Okay. So, I think that, um... Yeah, exactly. Um... Shut of shit. All right. So, that's it. That's all we find. Yeah. Do you want to look back downstairs at all or... What else is it going to show us? That we've already said. Ask Marshall. No, are you really curious? I mean, well, I'm pretty sure I already saw all the skulls there were to be had down there. All right. Let's head back 'cause, um, I have a bad feeling. 'Cause I see a lot of torches. I'm seeing flickering fire light in the windows, so let's go. All right. So, off we go. Back to... So... The station. The station. You're heading back to town. True. Five times over. Okay. I'm saving. Sure. Sure. Uh, you guys can both give me notice rolls. Oh. They're helping us. Okay. So, as they're exiting the house. Yeah. So, I have like negative one. I got a five and a... Oh, six. Negative one. I got a four. So, time. Oh, six. Oh, okay. Oh. Uh, ten. Nice. All right. Wow. So, we're just like... Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm actually down to something. I know, exactly. Well, this vision base, so... So, coming out of the house, you know, as I mentioned, it's on the high end of town, where, you know, the town rises up. All right. So, you know, you get a good survey and you can see, you know, those two or three hundred yards off towards where the Marshall's office in the jail is. And you know this kind of, out beyond that, you'll recall there's maybe about 50 yards of just scrub land before you get to the cliffs. All right. And in the gathering darkness, the sun is set. The twilight's setting in out on the horizon. But in the gathering darkness, you see little pinpoints look like a bunch of torches kind of heading out towards the cliffs. Uh-oh. Ooh. There's... Back at the office, Granville, after, you know, a couple of agonizing minutes, decided that he was going to turn his father over. Ooh. To the mob? To the mob. Ooh. What? What did I miss? So that may be what you're thinking now. No. I feel like made a minute. I go away for ten minutes. Exactly. Who is going? I leave for half an hour and you put a loose ball. Oh my God. Okay. So... All right. So we have cake. It's such a weird light going. What the hell? Yeah. Okay. So... I'm a bit taken aback too. Yeah. What's your diet? I know. Um... Letting him, uh... Letting him run my life has gotten me here. Yeah. And it's time to cut ties and start again. Let's go this your birthday. Oh my gosh. God, you're not helping me. It's intense. Stick it in the warish turn. So... I'm definitely... I'm definitely inside. I'm definitely inside. I'm definitely inside. They should have set lines more. What? Okay. Oh. It's this universe advanced 60 years. Wow. Wow. That's kind of neat, huh? That's kind of neat. Yeah. It's like the moment I heard about the zombie ones. Oh. Mmm. Yeah, yeah. Tactical zombie hunting. You get to see all of them shambling around. Yeah. Oh. Ladies. Okay. Okay. So, yeah, they're gonna take them out and throw them off the cliffs. Is that it? Mmm. It's all? Yeah. It's not so bad. Thirty foot drop. Should do it. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Put a bullet in this skull and make sure. Whoa! So we're just doing this. Yeah. And I can't stop it. No. You have to run. Yeah. You feel like running? No. I'm just paralyzed. I can't believe that this is happening. Why not? You're here. I understand. No, I don't. I'm just like, wow. It just happened so quickly. It did. I wasn't supposed to. I'm mostly surprised at how fast it happened. It's like, oh. Well, that's what the mayor basically said. Fuck. Yeah. It didn't have to happen that quickly. Okay, so. You actually turned the guy over. Yeah, so. I haven't opened the door. I haven't opened the door. Oh, okay. Now, I said the door was shut. The door was shut. Okay. So, Grandville, all for turning his father over. Right. So, that's the new thing. So, we come in and they're discussing this. Okay. I'm going to hold the door. So, you haven't turned him over yet. There's my intention to do so. In that case, you can get down there. This mob is circling the building covering the exits. Calling for the blood of Masha Kurtz. Smoking. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. No, it's Masha Kurtz. Yeah, what's he doing? Oh, he's, he's terrorized. I'm absolutely scared of the world's tummy as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. I mean, he's possessed, obviously. I mean, you said you saw a spirit. You know that it wasn't. Are you back at the jail now? Yeah, I'm back. All right. So, we're back. We need to stay in our way. Don't harm your way through the crowd. Yeah. Well, we'll take the only door after you. I'm sure. Put all my weight. Push it on. We're shutting the door. You're right. Yeah, okay. So, we're back. I'm so we're back. Yeah, we're back. We're going to be back. We're going to be back. Yeah, we're going to be back. Okay. All right. We're going to do the thing. Yeah, I'm like, wait, wait. Just a second. So, we go back in. So, I'm going to take the treasure that we found. I'm going to put it in my drawer. Put my bottle. Did it? Yes. Oh, yeah. Wow. It's still grandfills. Exactly. Just, they made Burn his house down. Oh, yeah. These won't be able to get it. Nice. Safe. Keep it in. Yeah. I want to know. I want. I want to know. I want to know. I want to know. I want to know. I really thought we should take those items. The deed to the house. All those items. Because the people are going to go. If they're going to go anywhere. You saw the torches. You never know. Okay. You never know. He should. He should. It should be in his possession. Fair enough. So, that's why it took it. I don't know. What am I going to do with that? I was just like, wow. The money. Buy yourself another horse. That's true. A nicer bowler hat. Maybe more guns. No, no. So, no. So, I put that in my desk. Right. And I go and I just say, what the hell happened? Yeah. What's going on? What have you done? Yeah. Now what? There are after blood. Obviously. That's right. And I can't say that they're wrong in that. North Carolina. Nope. Nope. Really? Really. And are we spoken to Granville? What does he say? Oh, my God. First political. First political. First political. For his own political, uh, management. Yeah. That's one way of looking at it. What was that? Just this. Shh. Shh. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. All right. So. We're just waiting on that guy from Carson City. Who knows? Well, but if we. Oh, it doesn't affect Virginia City actually. Virginia City. No. If we did no action to ensure that justice is. Is upheld in the town. Then. Who's going to stop? Someone like the guardian angels from coming in and taking over and doing as they see fit. Unless we establish ourselves as. The authority. The authority. Very good point. That had not occurred to me. Yes. My passion. Which I admire. So often quad. Which is. And honestly. Yeah. This is another. It was a. Another fan fiction somewhere. But I think that like. I think. Oh, yeah. Oh, so I think. I think you just need to tell them that if you don't want the guardian angels to come in here. It's our run in this town. We need to abide by the usual. Rules that can't be a mob rule. Stand beside me. We will. Of course. Go. It's not poor. All right. Here we go. This isn't going to go over very well. And grand. Yeah. Okay. He's not going to talk. He doesn't have an authority. No, he's not. But he's completely. I mean. Oh, okay. But he has to stand there. He has to stand there physically. He has to see him. Okay. So. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. We all stand on the porch. It's a heroic moment. It is. It is a very heroic moment. So who wants to do the talking? Mayor. Come on. All right. You are in there. I will say the words. The words you wish to become a bunch of cultists. You'll have to follow the rules. I'm not any happier about it than you are. And I do not blame you. In fact, I would join you but for this one thing. Which is that we must uphold ourselves as our own town. As our own authority. So what are they saying? What are they doing? So what do you got in terms of persuasion skill there? I got a six. No. Does anyone else have a persuasion skill? Yes. I have intimidation. Okay. Very good. And anything? All right. So to you, persuasion and intimidation first piece. No. Intimidation. Yeah. But if I hold up there. To your meaning. Yes. Does that borrow your prize? Yes. Your bling. Your prize. Are you going to speak? Oh. Sure. No. Just by being there. Oh. Okay. She had a name. Okay. So you ate. So we all say. Oh. Oh. Go for it again. All right. Excellent. Excellent. Oh. What are you doing? All right. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. What did she like bear her boobs? Oh. Oh. How about these? All right. Point of floor. All right. Keep going. One more. Oh. Oh. Oh. I'm going to Vegas. Yeah. It's just 29. Wow. Yeah. I mean she has an ankle. What'd she do? Seriously. I think just being there. I think. Wow. I think you're there. You're. The face of. Yeah. Civilization. Yeah. That's just a womanhood. It's all these like bearded minors. Yeah. Virtuous. Oh. They spent 10 hours a day hanging from a. The scaffolds. Yeah. Scappled. Yeah. Out of the mesas. Right. You know like over the roaring shark infested. Oh yeah. Or digging out ghost rock. Yeah. And then they see this you know. Lovely. Oh. Definitely. Yes. Look. You're beautiful. Miss Lily. You know. A store of moments for steaming. Oh. Oh. Oh. Yeah. I think you might be. Sure. I think you might be. Sure. It's like a lot of good moments. All right. So I'll say that. So basically these are like assistance roles. Right. So your regular success is good to add a plus two. All right. And then your biggest success will add a plus four. Four. Plus six all together. Six. Two. Two. Four. Okay. So you got a four. Four. So four plus six. That's a success with the race. Good enough. Okay. That's good to take them from hostile to neutral. I could. That's why I read. Yes. Slightly. Yeah. Yeah. Walk away. All right. Yeah. So between Congi giving him the stink guy. All right. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's right. Yeah. That's right. They sort of grumblingly break up and go home. What does Granville do? He. He kind of. He disappointed. Yeah. He. He kind of backs back into the wall and slides down. You know. And buries his head between his knees. I do feel bad for him. Sir, I think it'd be best if you stay here tonight. I think you're right. Okay. So I'm gonna put him in one of this. I don't know. I don't know. I just did. No, not with his dad. Like at least. Maybe we could send him to town for the night. No. I want him to be protected. Don't have to be poisoned or shamed or anything. Cool. Yeah. He's under like police protection right now. Because they may, you know, who knows what they'll do. Sure. One or two. Things might be moment again. If they get to drink it. Yeah. Exactly which they're about to go do. Which is gonna happen. It's inevitable. So. Off we are. Wow. Now we are back. We are in the. I'm exhausted. Right. I'm spent. So I'm gonna tell. I'm gonna tell Granville that I have the deed and the half in the strong box from his house. And it's being kept here. And you have the 25. You have the 25. 25. That was $200. No. No. All right. No. I have his money. I have the deed. So that's all taken care of. So if anything were to happen to the house. Was there anything else of value in the house? Well, just the furnishings. You know. You can't. No. But you have enough money here to buy new furnishings. So I just let him know what I have. You could live in a string card too. That's strong too. Okay. So what's going on? Yes. We are wrapping up. Okay. I just want to make sure. Right. So basically. Granville over the next few days announces that he is taking himself out of the mayoral race. Oh. And so that race will stand unopposed for Luke Watson unless Quad wants to put himself up. I know. This is really unfortunate to make here. I can't think. That's true. Missed you with. Meering? Yeah. All that entails. Sorry. She's coming over here. Don't you take that in the bid? Yeah. I know. Yeah. Yeah. Dora's show plays several more evenings with a final finale on Christmas night at the church when the expires raised. Really? Wow. And they particularly, the miners particularly like to see a little leap or something. Oh yeah. Like the breakout hits. This is like beginning of your career. Yeah. Yeah. This is fun. Yeah. And so perhaps with some regret you board the train. Northbound for Shanfan. Oh really? That's your next destination. You don't have to be living your condition of Santa baby. Oh. Oh. Oh. It's amazing that you're starting. Yeah. Day after New Year's. The elections are hell. And of course, Luke Watson is elected with no opposition. All right. I'm Ali. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh huh. Wait. Who's Marshall though? He'll appoint one. Okay. So he asks you if you want to stay on as Marshall. I'm going to Shanfan. I'm so torn. I'm so torn. I'm going. Well, I feel loyal to you and your deputy. I know. And I don't really hate this town. So I don't know. It stinks. It's creepy. And it's hot. I'm like this. All right. I'm going to pop my star on the desk. Ooh. I'm going to walk away. Ooh. And so is you. Come on doctor. Let's go. As you walk out of the. Squawk. Squawk. Oh, by the way, $75 for you. Your pay. Oh yeah. And 50 for the mayor. Oh, so I owe you money. So here's your 550. Here's your 550. But actually I give you 10 each. Sweet. I owe them some money. So you guys get 10 each. So that's 20 minus the 75. So it's like $55. Woo hoo. So standing outside is Lacey O'Mell. Hands in pockets of his. Is he going to follow us? White suit. Yeah. And he's kind of giving you guys a shifty grin. You know. Shifty bastard. Yeah. Spill and be. The top of the hat. The top of his head. I swear to God, you will be the first man that I punch. Against my own good nature. The first man that I punched. That wasn't like a giant. Stitch beast. Or a center. An actual. An actual. An actual man. An actual man. So he says good work. Stinky doggy. I was particularly impressed with the way you handle things back when they wanted to shrink, back when they wanted to throw check curds off the clips. That's a matter for the new mayor in Marshall now. But the way you handle that situation. I can tell you're heroes. Are we asking for your approval? We want to know what you said you were going to tell Dr. Toby. And yes, you've also seen things that hint at a secret some of us have known for years. Oh. Oh. Some of you, who was us? There's evil in the world. True evil. Evil beyond the understanding of most books. Sure. And we've seen it go on. Some of us try to fight it. I take the pen is mightier than the sword approach when I can help it. You folks seem a bit more qualified to handle things directly. We do enjoy shooting dynamite. Yes. Running away. All these things are true. Yes, yes. I have a proposition for you. Oh. This is more than just random pockets of bad news. It's all tied together. I can't explain how or why just yet, but I'm working on it. Others are too, and they've come up with ways to keep you alive while you're doing it. Really? Others? He produces a gold ring, signet ring. It shows a symbol of a cross torch and sword. Hmm. Right. This is a signet ring for the Explorer Society. It's kind of a club who help those in need. The ring gets you in their lodges. It might also help you get out of trouble with certain authorities. I'm not saying you can rob a bank, flash a ring, and saunter off to Mexico with someone else's cash. But sometimes in helping folks out, you wind up taking a little law into your own hands. Or maybe taking down some local citizen who isn't what he seems to be. Most local omen have no idea what's going on and maybe as much of hindrance as a help. But the agents up north and the rangers down south are a different story. In fact, their job to track down weirdness and make sure the rest of us never hear about it. Most of the time it ends with something that shouldn't exist, getting a lead shower and a quick burial. Or burning if it's really nasty. Well, I'm glad no burning works. Yeah, it works. Sometimes. You're advocating taking a law in your own hands then. Sometimes it's a whole lot more complicated than that. Mm-hmm. Sometimes when you're saving some unfortunate soul, you might cross paths with the authorities. Show them this ring and they might turn the other way while you scamper off. Okay. If you want to join the society and get your ring, head up to Shanfan and talk to a Brit by the name of Captain Roderick Pennington Smythe. No yes! Tell him Lacey sent you and really everything you've seen the last few weeks. I know some of you have other business out here, but trust me when I tell you this is an opportunity you don't want to pass up. You're going to see evil out here no matter what you're up to. It's better to be prepared and maybe have a little help than face it on your own. Well, yeah, but what about the demon in the house? That would be what it was referring to. There's all sorts of explainable weirdness. We just deal with it the best we can. Mm-hmm. I mean, after all, if it followed him from... What was that? St. Louis. St. Louis didn't originate from here. That's a good point. All right. Okay. So that's that. Yay! We'll meet again in Shanfan. So that's why we don't get that right. How does it smell? How does it smell? S-H-A-N. Second word, F-A-N. It's not bad. Yeah, it's not the Irish. They're starting to cry. No. It's not champagne. No. It just sends Chinese to me. Yeah. Doesn't it? It's so fun. You're gonna have fun with it. Oh! Oh! Gosh, I'm gonna need your help. Oh, man. Yeah. Zina, folks, we passed it. The doctor is shaking his head. No more help for you. No. No. It's called cashing an empathy, man.
