[music] The esoteric order of role players present Lost in the Maze, a deadlands reloaded campaign with David Larkins as the Marshal. Anyway, that's done. I figured I'll say I went back and looked at our first session recording from the Golden Dawn campaign. Oh, goody. Been downloaded 15 times. Yay! Yay! And it doesn't count how many times it's streamed, so I don't know. So many somewhere. So you think for cool somewhere out there, I was listening to one of her recordings of the day, I was like, "Oh, oh, that's right." And then I thought, "Super nerdy," I was like, "I'm listening to myself." No. It's kind of fun. You were sick, though, at that time, weren't you? Would you sip a new listen to us? No. Oh, okay. I did listen to, I listened to your guys' session that I missed for being sick. Oh, that makes sense. I didn't make it through all of it. No. No. I kept falling asleep, and then I cooled down that. And that made it really, really surreal. Yeah. I got to kind of wake up and then kind of go to sleep and I'm like, "What?" That was what? Oh, yeah. No, it was the other day, because my boyfriend was like, "So what, are you like, what do you guys do exactly?" Oh, is he interested? Well, I don't know if he's interested in playing, but he's definitely like, "I can never seem to describe adequately what it is we're doing here." It's hard to explain. Like, he definitely, he thinks it's cool. He does. He's very hot. He's like, "What?" A lot of dumplings. I don't think I understand. He's kind of hard to understand. Well, this time, you know, we destroyed this giant thousand mouth, thousand-eyed, you know, monster underneath the San Torium, you know, in the middle of the California desert. What? Yeah. He was like, "Huh?" Why in half? Yeah. How did one go about doing that? And I was like, trying to show my sheet, and he was just like, "I don't, I don't." Well, it's not for everybody. Well, I think it's just, he's never experienced anything like that. He's definitely genuinely interested in what it is I'm doing. Right. He just has like, no context or concept of like, what is going on. Yeah, a lot of people don't really, it's not like, "Oh, you don't get it." You know, but it's like, anybody could play it. It's just a matter of like, explaining like, "Okay, this is the process." Yeah, it was like, all right, like, kind of comparing it to like, an RPG video game. Like, super loose at best, but I was like, it's sort of a similar, you're stepping to a character. The difference here is that it's kind of character driven, like you're really building your character to, you know, further the game. Rather than being driven by the programmer's vision, it's driven by your vision. But like sometimes, as like, it's open ended, you get to put your own personality and direction into it as game players, grab a button, it's like, I don't think I was trying to explain to him like, the role of the GM, you know, and like, how you have like, you know, somebody guide book, but it's like a million different outcomes and you have to kind of play along with this. So the roles are sort of constantly changing and he's like, "Mm-hmm." I could see his brains go, "Oh, that's not exactly exactly." No, it's definitely something that, I don't know, it's like, once you get into it, I think for me, I always had friends who'd either played D&D or, you know, watching even you guys playing with, you know, two years ago, three years ago, and it was like, all right, like, I have a decent concept of all of this. Yeah, I sort of backed into it by a way of like, I would go the long ones or the pork ones. Yeah. And those study ones, which you can use. I liked to be surprised. But, you know, I got into like, the sort of the more advanced, choose-your-adventure-style books when I was a kid, you know, like, the ones that actually have like, mechanics in them for resolving fights and stuff, you know. And so, you know, RPGs were like, the next logical step to that and they kind of had an idea. I mean, I just, I loved playing games so much, but I really enjoyed that this one. I'm really, I'm very fond of breaking the rules and games, because I can definitely say, well, it's so much easier if we just do this. Uh-huh, right. And so, like, in this one that you do kind of get to do that, there are some very basic rules, but essentially, you get to, you're the one who gets to sort of create your game for yourself. Exactly. Like, however involved you are. Uh-huh. Yeah, completely changes your game-playing experience. Totally. And that's awesome. Yeah, it is fun. It's definitely like, something that you can build to your own interests or your own- Yeah. Customizable. Yeah. I usually do too. Now, I got these earrings because, I thought they were neat, and I thought they, well, since Ravens have been like, the thing of the year for me, and so I'm like, "I'm gonna get something that looks like a Raven feather to me." Yeah, Raven. Interesting. That's cool. Really? Mm-hmm. Um, makes jewelry, um, and she's from, she's in Spain a lot of her stuff that she gets is from, um, Mexico. Um-hmm. And we're roosters. Since we're doing it. Amazingly. Well, those ones do, like, the rest of their roosters. They're super gorgeous. Uh-huh. But she made me a whole necklace that's like a bunch of those, 'cause like, the cool, like, black and green. Yeah. I love that. Uh, food. I thought they are appropriately Raveny. Yeah, I thought so. And I also like the dot. [dog barking] I thought I was going to throw the devil in her. Yep. Got it. Maybe she had to scare the pea out of herself. [laughter] That's right. She has peated bark on me. Pea and barked and pooped. True. What? She's sitting there. Suddenly she's like, "Barking." And then she's like, "Barking!" I was like, "What the hell? How can you do that?" Wow. I don't know. It's very strange. It's plexid. It's okay. It's all very strange. All right. They aren't going to play. I'm like, "What are these days? Do you know where they're dumbling?" Promises, promises. Promises. I'm only here to play. I don't really enjoy any of these social aspects. No. True. You guys. What do you say to that? Yeah. We've got people who... That's not even a joke. Get visibly uncomfortable. Yeah. I'm sorry. What? Yeah. Yeah. They just don't have a chat. I'm only going to go by dice. Well. Yeah. Well, there were like five of them in there. And they opened the door. And they just looked at me like, wham. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I literally walked in there. I was looking around for one of the guys. Like, do you need something? No, you didn't. Just, like, looking for, like, a starter set of dice or something like that. Right. Right. He just lives, like, back wall. Oh, no. And they didn't have anything like this. Yeah. Yeah. But... It's so rude. Oh, my God. There's still a business. There's a lot of discrimination. Well, they're just surviving up to the middle school. Cardini, proud. Right. It's the right across the table. Mm-hmm. Yeah, games first are either total pits. Yeah. Or really cool. Well, the one that was, uh, too very small, it wasn't great, but... Mm-hmm. It's functional. It was nice enough. I was sad that it went out, didn't it? Yeah. Game call. That's sad. Yeah. Oh, and they're selling, um, loose polygy gold that moon rabbit plays now. Yeah. So, that's cool. That's cool. That's cool. That's pretty awesome. They do have a really great selection of four games there. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mine really... Yeah, they have one called, um, Elder Sign. It's like a card game. It looks good. Right. Yeah, we should play that. I don't even understand. Yeah. Now, too, like, I really love all of them. They have, like, a whole collection of, like, zombie game games. Mm-hmm. That's fun. I'm a really big fan of zombie flux, because that one is one where, literally, it's gameplay, you're constantly changing the rules. Mm-hmm. Every single game, like, the goal, like, how you win, and the rules of how you play get to change every single time. Oh! What game is this about? There's called... The game itself is called Flux-F-L-U-X-X. Okay. Um, but the one I have is specifically about zombies. Oh, yeah, it sounds better. And, um... I think that... I can bring it. We can at least take a look at it, because it's... Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's interesting. It's like, it's a simple, fun card game. Uh-huh. You definitely need paying attention. And as you play, and as you draw cards, like, you're constantly changing the rules of the game, and... Fun! You get to decide, like... Again, like, how you win, and what the goals are. It reminds me of Munchkin. Oh, is Munchkin like that? Mm-hmm. I don't know why I'm not for Munchkin. I've never played it, I'm just against it. I don't even... You shouldn't be. Yeah. I think it's the marketing, the nature of it. We've played the building on Munchkin at... ...other Dave's place. Did you? I mean, he, like, slaughtered us within... But it was fun, I think. It was fun, I played a cultist. Uh-huh. I had a cultist t-shirt, which is a shirt made out of the skin of another cultist. Wow! Yeah. That is... That's amazing. That's just so meta. Yeah, there's, like, there's two... I think there's two ways the game can end. One is if somebody, you know, gets to 10th level, right? Like, in a Munchkin game, right? Okay. You know, every time you just eat a monster, you get a level, right? So, if you get a 10th level, you win. Or, if everyone becomes a cultist, the game ends. Oh. This is so fun. Hmm. Yeah. It's kind of... It doesn't have a cultist life. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I do. Yeah. Yeah. It's complicated, but... No. It's definitely fun. Um... But it just gets to be kind of in the right mode of, like, what you want to get out of it. You know? It's definitely just, like, a card game. Right. You go really fast. Yeah, it's perfect. Like, once you get, once you get the hang of it, it's just like, you can be as fast or as slow as you want it to be. Yeah. Yeah. Right. All right. This is the last of it. If you want them... I'm done. Thank you for being up, by the way. You're welcome. I was like... Hello. (laughter) Okay. All right. If you want tea, there's still tea. Okay. All that sort of fun stuff. You definitely had to know if my dad, or... No one should have guessed. Mm-hmm. You know? He's like, "Jade, I'm like here. Have a beer. Have another beer." And I always feel weird drinking around my dad. Oh, it's just like, he's my dad. It's like, he'll come in to, like, pour me, like, a cranberry and crayon. And I'm just like, "Huh, wow." My boyfriend can't swim without it. He can give me, like, a weird look, but I can have a couple. No wonder you're crayons at my house. That is perplexing. That is weird. He's all right. He's fun. Yeah. He just... He's my father. Yeah. He's a dad. Yeah. All right. Oh, god. So... What? I just missed this so much. I know. I know. No, totally. It's like until last week, like, I was finished at like, seven o'clock, and I was like, "Mmm." Yeah. Oh. I'm mixing these up. This is like, it always reminds me of a... What's that price is, right, game? Yeah. Oh, Plinko? Yeah, I guess, Plinko. You picked the... Oops, sorry. You picked the chip and then you dropped them down. There's one really neat way of cloth. Yeah, the cloth bag. Yeah, that one. Make sure it's cooked here. Really? And if you get the black one. Yeah, they are. They're a little... They're like, ehumidaticy. Oh, I see them. Oh, they are. This one. That's better than my usual, all three whites. I think it's different. Oh. Oh. I love this one. We have to pick from the top, right? Oh, I deal. Yes. Well, if it's ideal. Well, if it's ideal. Well, only if it's ideal. Well, only if it's ideal. Yes! Whoa! Okay. Yeah. All right, cool. Jump. Huh. I gotta read mine. Oh, okay. This is different. More than... Oh, good. Oh, okay. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. For me. All right. What's going to happen? It's a good question. Well, we don't know. Because... Right. Right. Because we left off last week with the most surprising development. What's surprising? Yeah. I know. I was kind of surprised and annoyed. That's right. We were with Hattie Wagner at the Ork collection station number 37. Right. In the community liaison office. Oh, a petition. Mm-hmm. Oh, I'm sorry, civil liaison. And you were a quad and congee. You were handed packets containing... And they're civic posts. Mm-hmm. Yeah. The information on the air. I know. Oh, shit. Under new positions. We're in it now. I just want to get back with that girl again. Oh, well, I don't know the American Ork station. Right. It's true. Right. Now, maybe she'll look at me. Hey. It's just maybe. Maybe. Well, at the very least, you can use them for slave labor to a part of your machines. Oh, my God. I didn't see it. There's so many possibilities. Not even thinking like a new scientist. A new scientist. Thanks. So, right. Quad, you were handed a packet containing your interim commission statement of pay. Pay schedule, which, incidentally, is $50 deliverable in two weeks. Okay. I left two weeks to collect. Key to the benefits program. Keys to the mayor's office. Yeah. And solemn vow to serve the community in addition to the best of your ability. Well, do. You were handed a packet containing your badge, keys to the jail, and your interim commission and pay schedules. $75 deliverable in two weeks. Yeah. You got to supply your own done per the agreement. That's the only one I would take. I wouldn't take their mandated gun. I stayed. I'm muddled. I'm muddled under my breath. Yeah. Oh, music. No. Yeah. We have the food. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, yeah. It's kind of the high Asian populations. True. You are on the west coast. That's right. You are culturally appropriate. All right. Oh, okay. For the static. How are we really like. We have to tie everything in. We're eating beer and pot stickers. I mean, it feels appropriate. It feels full with this weather. It's like, I feel like it was like back in San Francisco. Oh, the green layer. Yeah. It is. At least it's not, um, you know, like, I mean, it's Tinder box land, but. Yeah. At least we're not. At least we're. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. We watched "310 Deima" last weekend. Oh, yeah. We were pining for our group. Oh, yeah. And so, I was really enjoyable. Yeah, that's a really pleasant one. I did. Damn fine movie. Mm-hmm. The original "Black and White"? No. No. You know. It's in your bail and... Oh. Mr. Crow. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. He's always... I don't even know who that is. He was also in, like, 30 days of night as the creepy banker helper. Um, he was in "Tendormas the Week." He's like a very young character actor who was just brilliant. He's brilliant. He's brilliant. Oh, check it out. He's very good. He needs to be, like, ridiculously handsome or, like, thug. Looked like meth-ridden and scary. He is. Is that true? Yeah. Yeah. It kind of reminds me of Gary Oldman in that respect. Oh, yeah. He's like, wow, he's going to need a damnation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was kind of a little both in "310 Deima." He was. He was both. And it was so homo-erotic, I thought I was going to die. Ooh. So you should watch the remake. It's very homo-erotic. Okay. I have to say. Which I find out in everything, so. Yes, me too. That's just my thing. Yes. But so you'll manage to join on that level. Yes. And I will. And I will. And I could join the team. Like, when I was in high school, I came into my English teacher to let me write my paper on merchant of Venice about the implied homosexual relationship between Ben Volio and... Oh, cool. And I got near plus. Nice. And I got to turn it in two weeks late. Right. So we need to do it. That is. Hey. I'm gonna entertain you. I'm gonna bring some leads. That's right. I totally did. That was a good idea too. We all got it. We all gave her... Uh-huh. And he had probably some arbitrary paper. Uh-huh. Right, right, right. Of course not. I could give this to you. Now, but... It's not. It's so close. I just... I found a totally different point. I really want to pursue it. Wow. It's so much better. Would you please? Yes. I do it every time. And honestly, I always did get an A+ on my paper. Right. Because you're a true scholar. Yes. And a true bullshitter. A true scholar. What did I just say? That's being a true scholar, by the way. I'm sorry to say, but it's true. It's true. No, it's true. I apologize for that. It is great. No. It is. It is. Yeah. So you'll go far. The more bullshit you can shovel, then you can get pretty far. Let me guess. In a long time. Never lose my unwillingness to tear people down. You know what? That's... You know what? I like to have a little bit of honor, decency, and integrity. Good luck with that, but... I tried to maintain that. No. It was not long for that world. It's nowhere. You get you nowhere fast. No. It's my working in a kitchen. Oh, there you go. Oh. Hey, man, I might be right there with you. Well, I have to do this. The federal funding, funding will change. Shh. To cuss back and everything is going to be fine. Exactly. No, I totally have faith that you'll be able to do this. It's exciting. I mean, the chef is very sweet. He's like, I hope you understand. I think he's going to get a little rowdy in the kitchen. Okay. It's like knowing me. He has some colorful language, and I was just like, I've known everything that they've said. And I've said all of those phrases myself on a weekly basis for the last few years. Yes. I worked in a bakery full of Guatemalans and Costa Ricans. Yeah. I think you can handle it. I'm fine. You'll speak that. He was kids' food. That is very sweet. That is a good sign. It's a good sign. It is, though. It really is. I think it's going to be great. He's very much like, I might yell. I'm not yelling at you. Right. I'm not yelling because he gets loud and I want to make sure everyone hears me. I'm not yelling at you. I'm not yelling at you. I wonder if he's-- I wonder if he's dealt with female line cooks that have-- I've only seen one other woman in that kitchen. She's very tall. Mm-hmm. You're kind of like, shit. I think you're going to do amazing at it. Let me see. On that note, we're going to do amazing at our new jobs. Yeah. Right. Mayor McCheese and Sheriff Dougal. Sheriff Dougal. I don't know. I'm just thinking of it. There's no sheriff in McDonald's town, unfortunately. Yes, there was. There had to have been. No, I don't know. The hamburger just ran rampant. That's why it was such a problem. It was grimace. I think grimace had a-- Grimace? Grimace had a-- Oh, really? I think he had a bit. I don't know what it was ever sold as a sheriff. I'm not even wearing a mask. He would have been the most useless-- I know. Which is why the hamburger was running wild and free. It's being like, what was grimace supposed to be? I don't know. We don't know. I think that it's fanciful. A manatee? I don't know. A manatee ridden with, like, the toxic slaughter. Maybe. That's food points. Yeah. Mutated manatee. Sicisting only upon McNuggets. I don't think else it's so good. There was, like, the one girl, like, chicken thing, which you just felt kind of hard. That was hard. Yeah, I don't remember that at all. I don't remember that at all. She had, like, an aviator. Oh, hurry. That's awesome. Some of these were our little McNuggets with their little faces. Yeah. That's even worse. They only non-food item. Yeah. Wasn't it a shake? It was supposed to be, like, a shake? Yeah, the shake is purple. Like, it's purple, though. Yeah, I know. There's no-- I think there was a lot of-- I think there was a lot of mushrooms. Can I blame that on mushrooms? I think we can. I had to think it was the '70s and it was going off of the, like, you know, the weird bar, like, attempts at, um, Muppets. Anyway, I'm sorry. We were so-- We're never going to get to the game. Ever. We're never getting to the game. Oh, no. See, this is what happens when we don't meet every week. I know we couldn't help the last week. But this is what happens. And we end up talking a lot and not playing, getting down to things like this. Yeah, you know. I saw the recording on this. I saw it. It's like 22 minutes of this. 22 minutes of this. It's useless. Yeah. So you should probably cut it at this point. Yeah. And now it's going to be serious. Yeah. No, because he's doing the-- Okay, we're done. Oh, oh, oh. Wait, who was this? Oh, come on. I didn't think they're-- Well, look at how this is. I remember seeing that too. That's what you were looking at. Well, what was Ronald McDonald? Like God? Oh, my God. That's a good question. He was the Messiah. He was the hamburger Messiah. He's the president. He's the revelry. He was. He was the Barack Obama. No. McDonald Town started in 1971. Right. And that was the problem was they had a complete list and they were like characters. I had no idea. There was some character called cosmic. C-O-S-M-C. No. No. That's nuts. Let's do not. Oh, wait, wait. Okay. Yeah. One of the things we got is a calendar. Ooh, yes. Please. I don't know what that is and I want it badly. Okay. Well, and they're green tea arrows. Okay. They're interesting because this is a very British, but obviously it's. So yeah, nothing will be worse than what I've put well. Of course, they're green tea. Green tea. They got as a joke between their friends. Oh, of course, now I can't remember their name. Is it really, really stinky fruit? Oh, a durian. A durian. Yeah, a durian candy is a joke. Wow. And they have it on that and they gave me one. And I thought they tasted grape. Oh, they taste good. They smell like that. Everyone knows how they smell like Rob's chicken and ass. Well, no, I think it smells more like. You went for it. Oh, rotting corpse. Oh, my God. It smells like rotting material. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know your stomach. You know what's all right. Ross boiled chicken is what it smells like. It smells bad. In Singapore, they actually have signs on the subways that have like a durian food with a line through it. You can't eat it on the subways because it will just stink up the whole cart. They taste good. It smells like crap, which is a great dichotomy. And again, now we're getting into like 28 minutes. So what do you think of this? It's weird, isn't it? Wow. I like them. Me too. I really like the texture. 20. Oh, you like the texture. Okay. I mean, green tea, you know, the matcha kind of tastes can be a little bit. This part of Japan was you can get green tea soft syrup. Yeah. I would live off of that. I would probably live off of that. I did. Two weeks. Two weeks of green tea soft syrup. They're delicious, too. Thank you for that. Mm-hmm. Okay. So you were handed packets. You were thanked kindly. What do you do? I give them back the packet. Then you just figured a little bit. Seriously. You're just like propped up against the door frame. Well, this one there, really? Yeah, right. Oh. Bad to the authority, huh? Yeah. They're not going to listen to me. That's going to squire a lot of control. What? You think I'm going to get power hungry? You might. I don't think so. You obviously don't know my character. I don't know. Some sweet, sweet retribution. A little vigilante justice now. Well, legalized. That might be able to happen. Mm-hmm. We'll see, though. I just want it to do good. Mm-hmm. [LAUGHTER] You got to control. Mm-hmm. All right. Can you swing a second on those? [LAUGHTER] All right. So. [LAUGHTER] Let's stagger back out into the hot sun. All right. Yeah. Yes. You'll recall that the climate here is stiflingly hot. And the air smells strongly at half the plant's ghost rock. Oh, lovely. Just sort of an italic. Oh. Like durian fruit. Oh. Sure. Okay. No, it's just a metallic smell. Can we hear the ghost rock, too? No. Is it like heaning in the distance? No. The ore processing station, from which you've just emerged, is a massive steel structure. And as such, it contains all sounds within. Okay. Right. All right. But as you emerge blinking into the bright light, you do see somebody standing for you on the plank sidewalk. All right. Gentlemen, in a white suit and hat. Or twain? [LAUGHTER] It's very safe. Yes. Is it warm? No. No. That's all about sweater. Couldn't be. He has his arm in a sling. Our dear friends, Lacey O'Malley. Look at it. Yay! OK. Looking a little bit worse for wear. Oh, really? I'm not going to hit him. Well, yeah. The last time you saw him, he was being severely beaten. I got shot in the back. Why don't you hit him? We're right in the wound. [LAUGHTER] I'm like, well, I'm going to march up and just... You can down him just a little bit right in the arm. Oh. Great to see him. Right in the shoulder. Just okay. Oh. Lacey, how are you? [LAUGHTER] Oh. Good job. Yeah. So he recoils a bit, but sort of grins, grits and grins through his pain. And says, yes, I don't blame you for maybe harboring a will towards me. I'm just staring at him. He almost got us killed. He's still on my wild days. Oh. Oh. [LAUGHTER] I'm genuinely concerned. [LAUGHTER] No. No. [LAUGHTER] I'm going to pass to you down. Thank you. I have my own rhinox. Yes, we are all. Thank you. I forgot. [LAUGHTER] It's okay. I forget you. And he says, I won't bore you with the tales of my miraculous escape from the clutches of the guardian angels. What? Good. I say out loud. [LAUGHTER] But... Does he say anything? Does he not? His eyes flick in your direction. I'm amazed. [LAUGHTER] And he says, I know you're no doubt surprised, if not shocked, to find yourself in this town under these circumstances. You're not going to believe this. They made me mare this dump. [LAUGHTER] And give a little of this congee. Congee is now the sheriff. Marshall. Marshall. Wrap your mind around that one. [LAUGHTER] And he says, well, I know. You know? What? What are you? Why does he know? Well, it's on my recommendation, actually. Hit him again. [LAUGHTER] Hit him again, Doc. [LAUGHTER] Can I get you all around at the fallen angel saloon, and I'll explain everything. Yep. I'm thinking the sky wants to run this town. I'm filing that under the least you can do, Lacey. [LAUGHTER] So let's go. Can I get you some oil for that burn? [LAUGHTER] All right, so. Okay. So, a tradition, of course, as you'll recall, is situated under this town. All right, so. Okay. So, a tradition, of course, as you'll recall, is situated. I'm listening. I just moved around a lot. I know you do. Is situated upon the edge of a steep 30-foot embankment that looks out over the maze. Thank you, Lacey. Yes. [LAUGHTER] You're like, oh, God, that's what I'm saying. All right. You can hear the sound of water lapping against the cliff below. And Los Angels sits about a half-mile distance northwest of where you're at. Wait, so. Oh, wow. I'm trying to remember how we got to a tradition. You sort of. Well, we went back to the battlegrounds. Yes. And we're kind of escorted there, right? No, you-- see, how did you get there? I don't remember. We got there. Oh, you got a hold of a-- you were hanging out at the Wasatch encampment, remember? Oh, and we got the-- There was a-- The epitaph? The epitaph. And you saw a notice about it. This is hybridy. Talking about how a tradition needed some assistance. Right. Oh. Yes. Mm-hmm. No, I wanted to know because I'm just trying to figure out where we got geographically. Right. For the south bend? I think we did. We went southeast. Right? Southeast, so we're like in the desert. Yes, exactly. Okay. Like Mojave Desert? Yeah, and the Wasatch encampment was sort of this temporary encampment while they were getting moved into their new digs. Right. Right. And also private docks down at Los Angeles. Right. Okay. So really, a tradition is a Wasatch. Concerned. Oh, quite outposts. Uh-huh. Our good friends. All right. Mm-hmm. And so it is a town that is quickly being created around you. Fully half the buildings in town are in some state of construction. Wood frames going up. Um, and then another 40% of the buildings are really just tents. You know. Really? Okay. Or shanties. Um, a lot of refugees from ghost town, which is now a burning crater, uh, have come here. Okay. And set up temporary digs. A skull shaped crater. Yep. Yep. Yes indeed. Uh, the ore reprocessing station and train station exist, had existed prior. Uh, but other structures have been either expanded on or built from scratch, including the brick jailhouse and rejoining Marshall's office. And, uh, oh yeah. I'm not going to get back to her. And two saloons. This is sort of lazy kind of explaining things to you. If I have a question for Lacey. She takes you down the street. I have a question. Yes. What gives you the pull to nominate people on this town? Two questions. Who do you think you are and what gives you the right? Um. It's an adening her clearing up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Um. So as you ask him this, he's leading you, uh, yeah, he's, uh, leading you up the steps into this sort of brand new wood building. Um, that displays a very punky little sign that just says the fallen angel. Okay. As you walk in, the smell of freshly hewn lumber, you know, is strong in the air. Sure. The bar is like unfinished wood, you know. Um, the chairs are sort of mismatched, you know, it's sort of collected from a bunch of different sources and that sort of thing, you know. And, um. So mismatched, uh, saloon? Yes. Um. But what? No. Fine. Mm hmm. Yes. So, um, yeah, no, it's just, it's, it's a brand new building, basically. All right. Um. Oh, please, thank you so much. Now, Paul, you, you note, um, next to the fat wing doors as you come in. Yes. A, uh, poster, tacked up outside. Um. Well, there's actually a couple posters. Uh, one is, um, a poster that looks, you know, pretty professionally printed, you know, lots of different fonts. Little pointy hands. Mm hmm. Um. I did too. Yeah. Saying, uh, elect Grandville Kurtz for mayor. Uh oh. Hi. What? You're a competition. Okay. Um. And then a smaller, uh, sort of hand-billed, uh, tacked up next to that one. A little more, um, insert daisy wheel, kind of print job. Right. Um. Well, I can't believe that. Okay. Is, uh, simply advertising that for the next week, Miss Dora Bowman will be in. Don't. What? Uh. Uh. Okay. Really excited. Does all the color just leave his face right now? Yes. Yes. So what else is this? The color goes from your face to your crotch. Ah! Sweet Jesus. She's coming. Very exciting news. So, um, hmm. Oh dear, oh dear. Oh dear. So, uh, yeah. So you enter the, you enter the saloons. Uh, there's your requisite guy with the floor link, they print. Cool. Polishing glasses behind the, the freshly cuted bar. Oh, his shirt sleeves. Exactly. But again, very funky. Like the, there's no mirror behind the bar. There's no like, you thought he paintings or anything. There's like a really, he's silly constructed, uh, rack for the liquor bottles, you know. Okay. And there's only like five of them. Oh! Wow. Okay. Yeah. But, uh, he, uh, he salutes Lacey as he comes in. Hm. They exchange greetings. Lacey takes you over to a, a table. And the guy comes out and, you know, puts, uh, puts some beers down in front of you all. So, yes. Uh, Lacey takes a drink. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Um. This is a bed of the pool quality crew. Yes. Set the town and says, well, here's the deal. You were absolutely the only people like a trust. Uh-huh. I'm not sure we're feeling quite the same way here. About you. Yeah. Well, like, I felt I owed you a little something after that. Well, to be perfectly honest, you were also the only people Wasatch would agree to a point. Okay. But I saw a poster for, uh... Good work. I thought it said mayor, but... Well, that's right. We've got elections coming up in two weeks for mayor and Marshall. Right, right, right. Wonderful. So, don't get... We're in room. We needed interim people to fill in those positions until such a time as that occurs. And Healthstone remembers you and agreed that you'd make a good choice. Mm-hmm. So you just need to serve long enough to make sure we can elect a real mayor and Marshall an affair election. Um, what are the odds of that? That there are people who will try to stop that from happening. Sure. Sure. Hmm. Um, now you probably saw the poster coming in for Granville Kurtz. We did. He's the son of Maschick Kurtz called Shek. Mm-hmm. Um, local railway magnate who, uh, uh, the line that runs out of town to connect up with the Wasatch line. That's his, that's his line. And he's, uh, he's in bed with the ghost rock, ghost rock magnates. Mm-hmm. He's going to have a vested interest in this election. Sure. And he's put up his son as candidate. What is this guy about? What does he, what does he like? Uh, would he make a good mayor? Or is he just a, just a puppet? He's a puppet. Let me just put it this way. It's in all the best interests of the citizens of this town to get a mayor elected who will put their concerns before those of the railway. Mm-hmm. Who's running against Kurtz? Well, we're looking around for a candidate. Okay. Um, I've got some, some people in mind and I'm going to be talking to him over the next couple days. Better. 'Cause I don't want to be Marshall for very long. You get things to do. Exactly. It's just two weeks. Okay. Mm-hmm. That's all I ask. That's what they say. Yeah. Oh, that's what they say. It starts. Out of character. Yes, it is. I say? Okay. Until the finance committee can meet. They need us, they need us, they need to trust us. Mm-hmm. I think it's- Dude, that's a thing for you today. And I have a little target minor hindrance. Oh, you do indeed. Well, I appreciate the confidence doc, but you don't have a target on your back. Dude, I have some bullet holes in mind though. (laughter) Hey! I can't, I can't. Yeah, I just know how they just know. Like, you're right? What can I say? All right. All right. So, let's drink our drinks. (laughter) Let's see. Oh, great. Okay. So, let's see here. Currently. Um... It is, uh, Z. We're going towards election day. Have a question. Yes, question. Why does it say traits when they have skills, edges, hindrances? What do you mean traits? What's traits? And I can't say traits. Oh, you can't say traits. I hate showing it to you. Aww. Yeah, that's- Well, yeah. It's any role that you make. So, it's basically a skill role. But it could also be an attribute. It could be an attribute role. So, like, if you have to make an agility role. Okay. So, just any kind of role? Oh, it could be a trait. The trait is an umbrella that encompasses attributes and skills. It's N skills. Okay. Also, XB from last time? Did I not hand it out? No, we did. Oh, you did? Well, mine. I have nine. Yeah, nine. Is that about right? Yeah, that's where we live. All right. Yeah. So, because last time you picked our- Right. Our new- We did. Like, raising a skill. We did. Because you guys- Oh, yeah. I remember. Okay, all right. We're working. Trying to keep people honest. Check some balances. Right. All right. Let's go. So, anyway, it is currently Thursday December 20th. Oh. And it's really not hot on kidney? Mm-hmm. Are we going to string any kind of lights up or- It is that hot? Why is it hot? Why is it hot? Why is it hot this time of year? 'Cause I think it's also- Oh. Oh, we're in hell. Oh, that's pretty good. Burning districts everywhere. Yep. It's hot on the denser top stuff. It's on the hand and a hell hole. Yeah. You know where you stand in a hell hole. I just want to say hell in a hand basket 'cause it sounds funny. Yeah. This is funny. Oh. Okay. All right. We are hanging out with Lacey. So, Lacey, you're starting a paper up or anything? What are you doing? Yeah. Yeah, too. I'm just filing reports from here. This is still making contributions to the epitaph. Indeed. I've heard some rumors that they're going to be starting up their own local paper out here, but you know, everything's still very much up in the air this time. Okay. It's been two weeks, right? Or at least a couple of days. Yeah. I'm assuming it's a general store, right? Yeah. I was going to ask, can I replace my bowie knife, please? Oh, you threw it, didn't you? Yeah, until I'm going beast's forehead. Oh, yeah. That was true. I would just like to say, before we potentially into any fighting, well, my knife's back. Smart. Yeah. Do they have any tomahawks in that general store? Oh, you lost yours as well? Yeah. We were throwing everything we had of this shit. Oh, oh, you lost all these weapons. All these beasts that I put in front of you. You actually bought them? Oh, oh. I remember you. I'm trying to confide kittens and crumbles. All right. So. Oh. All right. So. Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah. All right. So, you want to moosey on over to the general store? Well, we're still talking to Lazy. OK. I just want to make a bang. Yes. I've got it queued up. So, we're on his past. I want to go to the general store. Oh, that sounds good. Also, I want to know. Oh, yeah. No, I'm good. All right. Keep going. Sorry. I'm talking to the general store. Yeah. We're talking to the general store. Yeah. We're going to start a thing. So, there's probably going to be another paper starting up. Right. Who should we watch out for in this town? Kurtz. Right. Shek. Who's running for Marshall? Who's running for Marshall? Who's running for Marshall? No, he's running for Marshall. Oh. Wow. So, they probably point when the lackeys faster than you can spit. Yeah. OK. Whoever the mayor is, we'll have to say over who gets to be a commercial. Oh, I'm telling you your sense of decency and honor is picking up there. I knew my coat of honor, but I don't know what this town is. You know, what I owe them at this point. Yeah. Give it two weeks and see what I'm doing. Exactly. Yeah. I mean, I'm going to do my job. It's obviously. See, why do I have a lacy to have him to do a good job for him? No. He's part of it too. He's more like Wausach, though. This is really there. It can't. All right. No, that's true. He didn't help us out. Yeah. Yeah. He definitely helped them out, but yeah. That's the main thing. That's the main thing. So, I think, um, yeah, no, we'll see what this town has to offer. Probably better to have them on our good side than not. I agree. I definitely agree with that, but. Yeah, you're talking sense. That's what you can rely on. It's true. Yeah. Good thing you're with us. Yeah. Thank God. We started off the handle. I would. We'd be going nuts. This way. Perfect. All right. So. We're just the son of a simple dairy farm. Good Midwestern stock. That's right. All right. So, we are going to replace our weapons. Okay. They have tomahawks there. All right. So, you head out of the fallen angel. So, basically what you got. Lacey walks you out and he says, um, standing here, if you look off down the left. Uh, and there's a road leads out of town. It's actually the road you came in. Um, there's just a lot of tents and shacks. It's kind of a shanty town out that way. And he says down at the end of that, that stretch of road is the other, the other saloon in town called Reds. And you can know that Marshall. Um. Why are you saying that to me? Because it's your job to make sure you keep the order. Why is it called Reds? That's the name of the owner. Oh. Was he red hair? Yes. He does. He's a ginger guy. If you care to call him that. I'm just saying. I just want to know if I may use an Indian bar. Ah, I see. No. Irish bar. Yes. It's worse. It's worse. It's worse. I don't trust the genders. Well, the other reason. The reason I'm bringing it up is that they run poker and pharaoh games there. What's pharaoh? What's pharaoh? Okay. And so people can get a little passionate. So I have to keep my eye on Reds. Indeed. So this whole stretch of road here is colloquial and known as Sally Town. About half of those tents there are actually brothels. Oh, lovely. A tent brothel? Wow. You mean they're just prostitutes and tents, basically. Yep. They're not brothels. They're intense. They're not. They're not going tent to tent. Right. Right. Loaning out time in their tents. That's right. You can rent a tent. Do you have a tent? Oh. Stop. Okay. All right. Very good. So I'm going to watch back to you telling me about Stalin earlier. Oh, it is. All right. On that note. To the lumberyard. General store. General store. All right. So he takes you to the right. Hey, you head back up the road towards the ore processing station. Right. And over here on the left is the Marshall's office in the jail. Mm-hmm. Currently empty. So as I know. Oh, okay. And over here is the general store. All right. And it's directly across the street. And it's basically a big wood frame, not currently covered with, or, you know. It's tarped. In case the tarp's have been pinned wood frame. So. This is a very unique issue. How do they keep track of their stock? How do they keep track of their stock? Well, Marshall, again. Your job is to keep the order around here. Wow. How often do like. At least. Yeah. Your job is to keep the order around here. Wow. How often do like. Outbreaks of. Bullshit. Or anything. Yeah. It started because the knife was little bit. Bullshit. But yeah. Bullshit rewords. Well. The townsfolk here seem like a good lot. Most of them are refugees from ghost town. They just want to make it good. A good living. Right. About half of the more miners out in the ghost rock mines out in the maze there. Okay. Um. You know, it's mostly the out of towners who are going to give you trouble. But it sounds like for the most branches gambling and prostitution that might get it a little ratty for the most part. People are looking to settle down. Exactly. In fact, they're building a church over on the north side of town. It's also going to be a schoolhouse. Huh. We'll have to go check that out. Yeah. Alright. So. General store. They probably don't have any axes or anything. Well, I don't know. Let's see. Let's check it out. Alright. Let's see what you have for you behind door number one. Right. Behind sheet number one. Door. Yeah. Yeah. Where do you think you're at door? Yeah. Exactly. Alright. So. So there's a tall, reedy man running the, um, running the general store and he, um. He's got a couple of bowie knives. We'll take two. Alright. Two at this time. Yeah. Our $20 each. Whoa. Got it. Okay. Don't we have money? I got cash. Yeah, we have money. I also like to get, procure a pistol. Oh. Close range. Certainly. Oh. Cause my rifle last time was not particularly helpful while running. Mm hmm. How short range are we talking about? You want a daring jury? You want to revolve her? Um. I think probably revolve her. Sometimes I make me feel too. Um. How much, how much are your axes? Oh, and then the tomahawks are. They have tomahawks? Fifteen. I don't have any money. I have $6. I'll lend you some. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Alright. We established the very first scheme. This was a magical adventure friendship. Yeah. Is that what Doc says? Look. He established it at the beginning. It says on the very first entry page for. You typed it in. That's right. I made it. I made it a matter of writing. That's true. Thank you for the writing. Okay. So if you need some money for a tomahawk. I do. That's the thing. I understand you can't honor it. So if you'd like to pay it back. I would like to be giving it. Right. No, I'm going to pay you guys back. Whenever you get your pay there. I'm putting $5.55. It's going to be $75. I know. I know. I know. Shink. We'll see. Alright. See everybody. What about dying of my sticks? Hold everything. Let's see here. Yeah. Because again, I mean much like the saloon. Just lots of fresh new shells. It's about 1/10 full. Oh, God. Yeah. Just a few of them. He's actually got a lot. He's got a lot more in terms of dry goods. And that sort of thing than he does in terms of like. No, in terms of basic provisions. He doesn't have a whole lot. That's annoying. Yeah. He kind of grumbles about it. He's like really hard to keep food fresh here. That salt water air just spoils it real quick. Huh. Yeah. That's interesting. Yeah. Because we're feeling a little hungry. Oh. Oh God. You got it too. All the time. We sometimes find ourselves extremely good. All the time. You got it too. Does everyone in town have it? I guess. Well, you know, it's hard to say with provisions so short. As soon as I get something in. So it's just everybody's hungry all the time. Okay. Okay. No barking. Dude. Dude. Dude. Dude. All right. Where do we go with the day? Oh, anyway. How many? How much did you want? I want to replenish my two. Okay. Um, I don't really need $30. Okay. Fine. How much money do you have? I have $201 and I gave you $4, $150. Where did all my money go? I don't know. You didn't have much to start with. No. It was a thing. We were all allotted money kind of based off of other stuff. Okay. How much was that? 30 bucks. Did you say? 30 bucks. And then in terms of revolvers, like it was. All he has right now is a Lemott pistol, which is a 40 caliber pistol with a 16 gauge shotgun underneath the barrel. Oh. That's all he has. It's just that. It's so fun. It's an old, it's an old Confederate firearm. So it'll be pretty good for. It'll rust it, but you know, it's still, it's still in front of the machine. Yeah. I don't know. I think it will be good for short range though. Oh, definitely. Okay. I'll take it. What was it again? Holy shit. A Lemott pistol. I want one of those. It's that cool. You bring in real life. Yeah. Pistol and then what are the specs on it? Okay. So the 40 caliber pistol round has a range of 12, 24, 48. Okay. Damage of 2D6, rate of fire 1, wait 4, and 9 shots. Wow. Whoa. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Yes, we have 4 and 9 shots. Nice. And AP1. Okay. Got it there. Actually, if I could just look at it. Oh, it's been more helpful for me. Sorry, my brain is low. No. I like that too. Doc, are you sure you could handle that? [laughter] Can handle it better than I could when we left. [laughter] Do we know there... Oh, boy, there's been quite an education. There it has been. Indeed. Burke Burke. I told you not to bark, Burke. I told you not to bark, Burke. I told you not to bark. I told you not to bark. I told you not to bark. Which is taking a poop? No, no, I say that. I don't think she gets a shit. Oh. If you don't care. Scruffy don't care. Scruffy don't care. Scruffy don't care. Scruffy don't care. [laughter] Great. And that's 25. And you said it's too bright. It's actually 125. Oh, 125. Okay. Which is, you know, you know the price of a couple sticks of dynamite. Yeah. What you just paid is five times the going rate. Well, that's only stands the reason. Yeah. I know you want to play with that. Oh, here. I would say I'm going to piss it off. That's going to be 125 and 40. Be good. Mm-hmm. And you want some ammo for that? I contributed five towards the top. Oh, wow. You are. Oh, my goodness. You can't do that now. Oh, but I win it. Inside now. Oh, my goodness. Inside. Inside. Yeah. I took her for a hike this morning, too. Yeah, we're hot. It did nothing. Oh. Who is it, Bob? Who is it? Bob. Oh, no. Shut the door. [LAUGHTER] Hold it on. You and your toys. Yeah. Okay. So, 50 rounds of 40 caliber shot would be $15. And 20 shot themselves would be $10. 'Cause another 25? Uh, let's see. Yes. Okay. Okay. That's why I got $56. I'm feeling... He cleaned you out. [LAUGHTER] Hey, I got a gun. [LAUGHTER] That counts. Yeah. I got most everything else I need. I don't need too much thrown around, money. Do you got any jerky? Ooh, that might be a little shirt supply. I don't see here. Yeah, we're kind of long. Yeah, we're expensive. I thought it all has tail rations, I think. Of course, we could try and shoot some rabbits and skin and put a jerky. Yeah, I'll be good with it. I think Doc should put a cure of it. Yeah, you should procure some food. See, we could find... Get some training in. Because we got to run this town apparently. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only training and shooting I probably would have had this pot shutting rabbits in Wisconsin. All right. [LAUGHTER] That works. Rabbit. Yep. Okay. Do you want to do some hunting? Sure. Let's see here. Do you have high-tracking skills? Hmm. And high stealth. See? You have so many skills. Mm-hmm. You just got me a total like Napoleon time. Yeah. Trixie guys, you got skills. Yeah, pretty much. It's kind of how it ends up being. I kind of love it by skills. Mm. Girls only want guys with good skills. Like... Like... Like... Those are... Yeah. Yeah. Hunting skills. Hunting skills. Yeah. It's supposed to be like boys with good skills. So he figures that... We've got to watch that again. He figures that he might be getting some more jerky in next week. Nothing right now though. Okay. All right. We can like rabbit shoot a deer. Yeah. Oh wait, nobody's too... It's not dry enough to make jerky. It's not? Really, is it? Well... Could we just roast it over some ghost rock? What is it? It's about 1,000 degree. It's about 1,000 degree. It's like 1,000 degree. It's like 1,000 degree. Why are you blowing? It turns to ash instantly. Yep. Or you take a bite of it and if you're yourself, go... Mm. Yeah. Growing in extra fingers. What? Shredder. No, one of those mutant buildings can grow right now. So for the Lamont, does it have different specs for the pistol versus the shotgun? Yes. It does. Yes. There you go. Okay. No. It's distracted. It's trying to be fast for me. No, don't even worry about it. No, no, no, trust me. This is like kind of a game. It's sort of... We're getting back in the saddle. You keep talking. This feels like a bedroom slipper. It's just a second line there. It's a second line there. It's a shotgun. In shirt. I'm just going to see. No. I'm very slow with that kind of stuff. So you guys want to kind of tour the town basically? Yeah, I'm going to do patrol. Okay. But nobody knows who I am. Well, let's go. We got to be sorry. I have my star, but I'm not going to say anything. I'm not. No. Do you just want to lay low in the marshals? I'll fit some places. Let's go check out your office. Let's go check out your office. I don't want to. Don't you want to see who's in there? Oh, it could be somebody. Are there prisoners in there? We don't know. We have to be see. All right. I'll start there first. That's a smart idea, Claude. Let's go. Okay. So we're going to go to my marshal. Is there just the brick building? Yeah. Wow. It's actually right across the street from the general store. That's right. Just down the street from the ore processing station. Okay. So you can hear the kind of, you know, distance sound. Worrying. Of machinery. Yeah. Clanking away. So the marshal's office a little wood building adjacent to the jail itself. And you know, just a very simple structure. You walk in, you know, your boots kind of clunking on the wooden floor. Not a whole lot in here. You know, there's a salvage desk that's all sort of banged up and scratched, you know. Are there any people in there? Nope. It's empty. A little dusty. A little jail. In the light coming through. A little particles. Yeah. Particulates. Yeah. Smells a little stale. Oh, I'm going to open up. Are there windows in there? I'm going to open up everything. Mm-hmm. Is there anyone in the jail? No, the... The skeleton. All right. All right. It's all the skeleton. Ooh. Sorry about that. This is awkward. This is awkward. There's been there to dry out. Literally. Dry it out. He sure did. Anyway, the office butts up against one side of the jail. So, like, one of your walls is a brick, you know, wall. Okay. And, you know, there's... I don't think it's hot in the summer. Mm-hmm. There's a... A winter. Iron bard door. Okay. And you've got the keys to that. I do. All right, so I've got the keys on it. And you can go through there and there's basically four cells, two on each side, just iron bard cells. Okay. Four cells. Nice. Yeah. That's a lot, actually. How many... What one cell would hold how many people? You could probably cram in four, you know. Okay. Are there beds or cots or just, like, a pot to piss in? There's two cots and one pot. Okay. Curved. Yeah. I'm not fucking emptying that, I think, for myself. I'm not emptying that shit. Nope. I wonder who will. I've got a deputy. So... Yeah! Oh! Yeah. I'm just thinking all this that I'm kind of looking at you guys. I'm really... My character, I mean, she's quiet. She doesn't talk a lot. So... Something... I'm on the u. All right, so I just kind of ignore that. Okay, so where would Quad be? Is there a phone with us? Is there anything in there? A phone. Anything to communicate? Wow. So, Lacey is with you. And he says, "Yeah, we don't have any phones in town just yet." Uh-huh. Well, yeah, they had a phone. There was a phone at the sanitarium. Yeah. There was. So, there's intermittent phone use. There is. I think Jen had a perfectly legitimate question. There's a telegraph office over near the train station. Okay, then. That's not helpful at all. But, yeah, in terms of communicating here in town, it's all on foot. Okay. Yeah. So, Mr. Mayor, let's go... Mr. Mayor. Give you a look at your town hall. Mr. Manager. Yep. So, you head out of the marshal's office, you head down past the Cliff Watch Hotel, which, at this time, is just a simple building that's being expanded on. The new wings are being added, you know. Uh-huh. And you take a left. The left? It's a left. Heading up Main Street. And you can see up ahead, the train station is kind of at the end of the street. Uh-huh. To your right, you see the church under construction. It's going to be a wooden brick structure. Um, basically just the foundations at this point. Oh, man. And then to the left, you see the town hall, which is wood frame. Okay. Oh, man. It's just a frame. It's just a frame. Where are you going to be sleeping? I don't know. In the jail? You can sleep in the jail. Yeah. So, Lacey says, uh, I think they should have a room at the Cliff Watch. Uh, that's where I'm staying right now. Oh, okay. All right. We're, uh, you know, I bet we could get, uh... Oh, yeah. Hey, where's that? What's your name? What's, what's your name? Well, yeah, I was going to say we, if you prefer, I could talk to, uh, Mr. Moss at the fallen angel and see if they, he's got a room up on the second floor to get it out. Oh, that's a great idea. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. The mayor is staying at this moment. Uh... It affects. Yeah. I know, uh... People might be more behaved. I know Miss Bowman and her accompanienist, accompanienist. Accompanist? Accompanist? No. Accompanist. Accompanist. Are, uh, are staying there. Right now? Uh, well, when they get in town. Uh, uh. Where are they getting in town? I kind of like, uh, just curious. Yeah. I'm asking, uh, on behalf of certain interested parties. Yeah. Uh, uh, this, uh, Friday, I believe. What day is it? Wednesday. Okay. Friday. Two more days. Mm-hmm. Ooh. I took a beer before then. Uh-huh. I gotta clean out my ears. I gotta go in for a full detailing somewhere. Is there a barber in town? I asked Lacey. Uh, you know, I think I just heard of one setting up shop. Uh, just the other day. Tented course at this time. Mm-hmm. It might be a good spot to visit. Yeah. I gotta do that. I say to no one in particular. Yeah, a lot of people are coming in every day. It's, um, you'll want to make sure you're familiarized yourself with all the new, uh, arrivals as much as possible. Okay. All right. I'm gonna go. Is there anything inside the town hall? Anything? No. Nothing. All right. I'm gonna go check out. Let's go check out Reds. Yes. I'm gonna go through the tranties. Sallytown. Oh, yeah. All right. So you head down the street. Slow motion. Mm-hmm. You need bad asses, you know? You need bad ass gods in town. That's right. You're dusty as fluttering in the wind. [laughs] [laughs] And, uh, up ahead you see a, uh, two-story wooden building on the right hand side of the road. [laughs] And, uh, you know, there's, you know, there's like a Chinese laundry and a tent and then there's all these- Wow. These are huge tents. Like big pavilions. Yeah, they're pavilions tents. Yeah. I was thinking like the brothe was like a little pup tent. No, they don't puff tent. [laughs] Or they'll be like kind of half and half like a wood, like a little wood front. Mm-hmm. Like flops. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's totally in a ship. I was just like, I could almost see like a mushroom like the military camp. Yeah. Yeah. A little tiny, tiny, tiny tent everywhere. Yeah. In fact, you see a lot of like, a lot of the shanty buildings have been built with, um, like whole sides of buildings, presumably salvaged from, uh, ghost towns because they have like fire damage on them. Mm-hmm. So people just grab, you know, sections of, you know, buildings and- Anything in a boat. Yeah. It's worth it. Yeah. All right. All right. So you're coming up on reds. Yes. When, uh, all of a sudden, out of the front doors bursts about a dozen men. Wow. In the midst of a full-on wall. Oh. [laughs] Fists are flying, shouts and epithets. Um, you see a red-haired man kind of come out behind him, you know, and he goes, "Oh, take it out! Sorry!" You know, he got a shotgun in his hand. Really? Okay. So you're the mayor, right? Right. Right. So you know how I am. Like, I don't talk a lot. People don't really listen to me. Mm-hmm. So I'm counting on you. Way to go, Marshall. To be the Marshall? [laughs] No, you definitely see like, I'm the gun, I'm the fire power. All right. Just like, yeah. [laughs] Yeah, exactly. I don't have to say anything. That's what I'm gonna do. Yeah. I'm talking to them and making sure that they're shutting the hell up when I'm talking. I might need you to help me with that. Fun. I'm just saying. But I was, that's exactly what I was gonna do. All right. I was gonna take my, you see your, your taunt there. I'm not taunting anybody. [laughs] Yeah, you know, like, ultimate taunting skills. I'm not. Oh, but I'm gonna just single-handedly my shotgun. Shh. In the air. It's not pump kayaking, by the way, but anyway. I want it to be shh. Just like, pull it up. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Why'd you jerk your shotgun like that? I'm cool. All right. So anyway, I shoot my shotgun. Well, you recall from these trap look entry I posted that they were evolving shotgun. That thing had a long ass barrel. I mean, that's an impressive fire. I know. That's huge. Yeah. Fucking huge. But yeah. I want, no, I need to make a statement. Give me an intimidation roll at plus two since you're- Oh, good. I might have just seen you. So eight. There's my D8. And your wild side. My D8. Of course. I want some of my wild sides. Um, please come through for me. Six plus two is eight. Excellent. So that kind of is an ace or no. That's, well, no, but it's a successful race. Okay. So, uh, all right. So you step up. Lever action. Yeah. Yeah. And, um. I should just do boot heels. Yeah. You can't really like fit your little more. And, uh. Yeah. Never would just kind of stops and like make you all. All right. And, uh, and a few of them, you know, pick themselves up off the ground, dust themselves off and a couple more of them. You know, they all look like sort of minor types. Okay. I'm gonna, I'm gonna pull up my, my badge. I'm not saying anything. All right. It's, it's all wordless. So they're all, they're all looking at like a free. Who the hell is he? So I have my badge out. I guess we look like a little bit of him. I think so. Yeah. And I'm scared at him. All right. I'm looking at each, I look, I look each of them in the eyes. Right. I'm not scared enough. No, what do they do next? They're kind of waiting to see what you guys are going to do. Don't you have any work to do? We got plenty of work here. Get your ass back to the mine. Who are you? I'm the mayor. And this is my new Marshall. Couldn't muck it up the streets. Go do something with yourself. Red, what the hell's going on? I'm sorry, mayor. Just a little, just a little dust up, you know. Scatter. Are any of them lingering? No, they're, they're starting to sort of, you know, break away in twos and threes. Good. It's not even nighttime. What's this place going to be like? It's the sun goes down. That's a big problem. She get a nap now. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So we walk up to red. All right. So he, you know, he lets the shotgun drop to the side. He should. He puts his hand out and introduces himself. Yeah. He screams. He says, well, I'm glad to see a little law and order in town. Looking forward to the elections. How are you going to be running, mayor? I don't know. He wants to know your name. Oh, I'll tell you. What's the name? Mayor Smith. No, I know what it is. I know what it is. I'm in Prague. I'm in Prague. Name me. No. No. All right. My name's quite an order for tell us. I've just been. Oh, what? You're an adventure with the what? The adventure of what? Tell us money. Tell us money. Um, we find ourselves in the position. In the position of being unelected, appointed. And we're trying to make the best of a sketchy situation here, so. Yeah. We certainly would like your help. Well, I'll certainly do what I can to keep the order in my own place of business. Nice to know I'll have someone backing me up now. Very good. All right. So extend my hand. The names are even. Take your hand. This is Doc Funk. By the way. He's my deputy. He's my deputy. Oh, yeah. Oh. Oh. Oh. Doctor, eh? Yeah. Well. We could definitely use a medical professional here. That's it. Look at the saw bones. All right. Now. I don't know. You guys. I love the guys. Well, we're good. I love the pause. Okay. All right. My mouth's stuck with pie. Well, yeah. Got it. So let's go on. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. So. Mm-hmm. All right. Let's see here. So, yeah. Um. Initiative sort of on your side now. Let's go. I want to do. Let's. Okay. Where do you want to go, Claude? I want to wander into red to see what kind of joy he's running. Okay. Let's check it out. Okay. Okay. So, um. Mm-hmm. I like everything else in tradition. This is a. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. There's a tent. Mm-hmm. This is basically a puffed tent. Mm-hmm. So it's magical. It's bigger on the inside. And it is on the outside. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. This is this guy who's come out of this cute little puffed tent. Oh. Mm-hmm. It's very parrot-potter-ish. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. No. Um. I like everything else in tradition. This is very much a work in progress. Oh. Brand new. Corrector. So red's put. Quite a bit of work into it already. Oh. Trying to sort of class to join up. Uh-huh. Is there a painting? There is a painting. Mm-hmm. Wow. Mm-hmm. That was nice. Mm-hmm. And it adds up. We'll be looking at here. And actually matching. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Matching what now? Matching a bar stool. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, fantastic. Mm-hmm. So, classy. Mm-hmm. No. And it got, um... Oh. Jen, do you want some water? Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's got a pair of table. Are you sure? Yeah. It's got a pair of table set up. All right. Complete with the, uh, you know, the green velvet. Mm-hmm. Wow. Felt. I mean... That's pretty nice. Mm-hmm. I know. This wasn't the cylinder mist foam in wash. No. That was a ball angel. No, she's not going to be here. This is a step up. This is a ball angel. Well, a ball angel at the stage. Uh-huh. Okay. It's not always going to come in town and, like, sit in front of the stage and... Food in the holler-writer. Mm-hmm. Spire your gun into the ceiling, so... It's last, like, mischievous and... Mm-hmm. This is a little more of a... Gambling holler. Gambling holler. Okay. Anyone have gambling? Ooh, that's a good question. No. No. What you did, though? What? I did too. Nope. Oh, well. Dang it. It's not like an edge thing as opposed to a necessary side. Right. Totally. Definitely an edge. I do have luck, though. There you go. Ooh. You haven't really invoked that at all. I know. Yeah. I'm only just now realizing that. Mm-hmm. God. I miss a lot of things. What would luck, actually? I'm just saying if I had gambling, I might be able to utilize that for, um, my luck. Well, sure. You know, if I wanted to. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You don't have much money. It might be good to build up your stash. But it would also be vulnerable. Yeah. You'd be making gambling rolls at the fall, which is not... No. First of all, second of all... Not to mention the fact of martial gambling, as I'm going to say. Go ahead. To the rest of the town. Uh, yeah. You never know. My reason was to recommend... There was many attempts back then. That's true, you were a woman. You were a woman. Uh, yeah. Oh, you dropped one extra penny. A penny! A big chip, if you will. I think a penny in the Jets. Yeah. Red. Cool. At least it's not white. Ha! And your white is perfectly white. That's not? Alright, so... It's better than nothing. That's racist. Alright, so... Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah. That's right. That's right. Thank you. Well, this is a nice establishment you got here, Red. Oh, thank you. Um, I ran a... Pharaoh table in Deadwood for about five years. Oh, you don't say? I do. That must have been a hell of a show. I bet. It was. You learned a few tricks. I'm making a deal. Learn a few tricks of the trade. What is this painting of? Ha! Ha! You never elaborated on that. I'm letting your imagination fill in the blanks. It's better than anything I could say. Think of the most tasteless thing ever. Wow! Ha! That's certainly skinless. For that? Not necessarily lewd, but tasteless. Right. Just a truly tasty one. Yeah. Okay. That'd be like an odorless, like laying nude on a bear skin rug in the middle of the woods with grapes hanging out of her mouth. Yeah. Or like how Caesar's pals in Las Vegas have all the classical Greek sculptures but they have gigantic cocks. Caught in giant tits. What? Yep. And they've taken all of the classical, yeah, the gold Greek sculptures. And they're very well hung and voluptuous, yeah. It pretty much anti-griefed them. Yeah. Yeah. More Italian. More Italian. Mmm. Mmm. All right, hold on. Nope. Sorry. I thought maybe you'd elaborate it on it and I'm not there for now. No. Just, you know. Okay. Maybe it's painting. All right. Tacky. Like if it could be done on black velvet, it would be on black velvet. It is on black velvet. Exactly. It is on black velvet. All right, so. This is the best mine. That's disturbing. It's a classical nude of Elvis on black velvet. Oh. A little classical nude. Look at all this. Especially it was like, wait, what year? Venus coming out of the shell, like. Yeah. Elvis has a pair of pompadour. Daintily covering the shell. Yeah. I'm going out of a seashell. [laughter] Okay. [laughter] It's time to be a seizure. Yeah. [laughter] All right. So, on that note. [laughter] So. Yeah. So, I want to ask you a question, right? It's funny, a bit odd, but I'm following up something kind of itching in my brain here. Mmm. I'd never find yourself as asked by a hunger. You'd never know one in Deadwood. An odd ravenousness, say. [laughter] I can't say that I did. Oh. [laughter] He says as he poured you all the shot of whiskey. [laughter] That's awfully interesting. The guy at the tent with a supply says he has felt that way before. So, I was just wondering if it wasn't. Well, you know, food's pretty scarce out here. True. It's a quake. Supply networks broke down, and what with the flood and all of the ground was spoiled. It's spoiled by saltwater. Yeah. So, they can't grow as much as they're accustomed to. It's pretty arid landscape too. It doesn't seem like it rains a whole lot. A whole lot. Yeah. So, you know, Reverend Grimm there, he kind of built his popularity, so right here, on his ability to provide for his followers. In the way of food. Indeed. Every Sunday, you know, lays out a banquet for all true believers. I see. It's pretty good. Mm-hmm. I have a question. Yes. Is he paying attention to me? I have an outsider status. You do have an outsider status. But imagine a check on them. Yeah. At the same time, yes. You have an outsider status. Man, he did serve you a whiskey. It's true. Yeah, he did for it for you. True. And you're with me. That's true. I kind of say, once you're noticed, you can garner notice. You might be able to stay under the radar until you draw this to yourself. Until, yeah. Yep. But the outsider status has, like, another element to it. It's a specific gameplay thing. Yeah. It's one of my hindrances. It's a hindrances. I don't know, I just see if it maybe just won't accept you. Yeah, but ultimately, he may never really fully divulge. Just divulge. Something that he might tell him, you know, because I want to ask him. You're untrustworthy. Right. They see that. They see that. They see that. To their circumstance. Okay. There. Basically, you have a minus two on your charisma, which is added to your persuasion and speed-wise roles. Which I don't have by either. So, so you'd be at a D4 minus six if you're trying to persuade him or anything. Okay. I can't persuade him of anything. Fine. But I'm hoping he'll give me an answer. He'll not persuade me. He's not going to pose. He'll never time persuade. What do you have to say? Well, who's the, who should I be looking out for in this town? Who gives you the most trouble? Well, you know, when the, when the miners get into their cups a bit, you know, as you saw, you can get a little, a little rowdy. But, apart from that, I don't, I don't really have a personal problem with anyone here. I don't believe that. What do you think of this, uh, Shek Kurtz? Oh, Mr. Kurtz. He's, uh, Kurtz. He's a big, uh, big railway man, back east. Yeah. Is he large, physically large, man? Oh, particularly. No. No. Big more in terms of wealth. Mm-hmm. Okay. For some members that he was married a few times. Wow. You know, made some money off, uh, off those marriages perhaps, I don't know. I don't care to speculate. No, no, no. That's disturbing. She thinks to herself, I think, to myself. Okay. Uh, but yeah, his, uh, his, uh, home and office is, uh, just off the road here. Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All right. Well, uh, what else? Okay. Anything interesting? All right. I'm still... What? I'm still laughing. You're the mayor and you're the marshal. Yeah. At first, with this whole time, I'm just done. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You're really easy. He looks at you. He says, "Just let me know when you get your offices up and running. I'll send some patience your way." I'll start listening to you. All right. You've got some supplies, don't you? Mm-hmm. I do, I've got supplies now. Cool. Yeah. No more horse forceps. Well, I'm sitting around the four horses. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, if you have any four-legged patients, too, feel free to send those my way. Good to know, good to know. Mm-hmm. You're a renaissance man. Yes. That's kind. That's kind of him. What the hell is that? All right. So let's drink her whiskey. Thank you for that. Thank you. Thank you. Multi-skilled. All right. So you're down your whiskey. Yeah, I don't think she's ever heard that term before. Rather what? Like a what? The what? Mm-hmm. All right. So basically- So you drink our whiskey and move on. Where are those miners looking to wrap? No. Do they go back to work? Yeah, they're coming after you with ax handles. I'm curious. Okay. All right. That's why you're a good marginal. Dispersed. All right. So let's check out the brothel tents. Yeah. You got to check out the tents. I don't think it's funny. I don't think it's funny. It's like, remember in San Francisco and Gavin Newsom, the mayor? Mm-hmm. Oh. He did a tour of all these Chinese massage parlors in the town. Oh, Jesus. You know, kind of trying to like just be like, you know, we've heard rumors. There's prostitution that goes on in these places. Yeah. So they're doing like these surprise visits with the mayor. What? The mayor in tow. And they walk into the front parlor of this one place. And this Chinese masseuse has given this guy a hand job. Yeah. Right there in the couch. Yeah. Like when the mayor walks in. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gee, you think there might be some prostitution going on here? That is hilarious. Oh. Wow. Wow. Well, prostitution is not illegal here. No. It doesn't sound like unless there's any kind of disorder. I just want to make sure everybody's okay and that things are only up and up. Actually, because you're a female marshal, I bet they'll trust you to come with their actual problems and believe that they'll be taken seriously too. Oh boy. It's going to be trouble. Yeah, it is. All right. Might as well go say hi. Yep. So I'm going to go check out the... What's the dude? I'm sure my age and population will want to be outsiders themselves. Mm-hmm. I'm going to try to talk to him, I guess. All right. What are you putting out there? What am I putting out there? No. I'm just going to... Well, do the 10th... Hey, I'm the new marshal. Yeah, right. Yeah. You guys need me assistance. Yeah, just let him know. Yeah. I'm just letting him know that. Okay. All right. So you spent about an hour doing that. Are you ensuring that? Is there any ringleader? Sallytown. No. All right. Sallytown. Everything's still very much amorphous and archaic. How did that happen in society? How am I received by them? Are they, like, happy or...? Anywhere from, like, neutral to, uh, guardedly positive. Good. So it's good. Okay, that's the best you can ask for. Yeah. Neutral and neutral. Neutral and neutral plus. Plus seems to be very small. This is positivity light. Yeah. All right, so... Nice to talk with neutral. Let's, uh... Yeah! So where are we going now? Do you want to go check out the Grindville Kurtz building? Yeah, let's show you that. Check Kurtz. Why don't we introduce ourselves? Why don't we go over there? No. All right. So, um... So, yeah, this is a... This is getting on for evening now, but, um... Up ahead, sort of, position near the railway track. Uh, it's a, um... Really large rectangular, uh, wooden structure. Um, that's... Looming sinisterly? Yeah. Yeah. I hope, I hope... Is there sinister? Well, it's sort of a combination, resident-slash business. There's a big warehouse kind of built under the side of it. It's all emblems on everything. I think, uh... Evil. No, it's, um... The Kurtz. Uh, this says Kurtz shipping painted on the side there. Uh, is there an evil ship? An evil one. Ship? Ship? Like it. We're not even in your water. It would be a train. It would be a train. It would be a train. Oh, a train. A train. A train with a train on this granny face? No. No, no evil. There's no, no evil train. No evil! Like from Thomas the Tank. Yeah, I'm thinking of Thomas the Tank being like... No. No. None of that goes. Alright, good. Alright. That's good. Let's see who's on the open up then. Yeah. There is a, uh, there's a large porch on the residential side, though. Yes. And, um... Man in a white straw hat. So, can I fit Julie? Well, there, there is a, uh... There is a, uh, a porch swing. Oh. And there are a couple, couple guys sitting out on it. Right. Uh, um, fanning themselves in the, in the late afternoon. Did they look familiar? Like they were in the, in reds? No. Okay. No, they're both very well dressed. You never know, but like, you ran back to their master. No, they're both very well dressed. One's middle age, other's in his 20s. Yeah. Um, and they look related. Oh. Is a young one handsome? It's really good looking. What does he look like? He's on a scale of, like, Gilbert Godfrey to, to your bail. What the hell? Where does he fall? Uh... I don't know. They're a lot worse than Gilbert Godfrey. Yeah, right. Yeah. He looks neutral plus. So... He's not so... You're not so... You're not helping. Was I like Tom Hanks? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Oh, yeah. Not anymore. Not anymore. No, when he was young. No, he was young. I would say a definite plus. He has a certain Hanksie in charm about him. Oh. No, that's for me. It's good. It's a large, unfortunate swing now. Mm-hmm. It's a Hanksie in charm. So they're both on the porch swing. You know, they're in their vests with their sleeves all up. Sure. Yeah. Okay. So we're walking under up. Yeah. So the older fellow says, uh, Evening Mayor? Oh. Oh. Oh. Nice. Nice. Nice. I see your reputation has preceded us. Mm-hmm. Indeed it has. We heard about, uh, you breaking up that fight down at Reds a while ago. It had to be done. That word nothing. Well, I appreciate a law and order, Marshall. And, uh, and Mr. Mayor, I hope that, uh, these two weeks here will be uneventful until such time as my son here can, uh, take over the position. What does the son look like? He looks like when his daddy's talking. He's just sort of, you know, got his thumbs and his, uh, vests, you know. He's looking awfully pleased with himself. Yeah, you got him. Mm-hmm. Good build. That's me, Grandville. Nice to meet you, Grandville. Where'd you guys come from? Yeah. That's a good question. Uh, well, I, uh, where did I come from? I'm from Boston. Boston? Wow. It's a long way. Sure is. Sure is. I never thought I'd end up way out here on the other side of the country. We're brought, yeah. Here we are. We're brought you out here. No opportunity. Like everyone else? Yeah. Not everyone. I say. I have no idea what you can mean. I'm not expecting to. Oh, chilly here on this hot afternoon. Birds! Hot burns! I see hot. I see hot burns. Oh, dear. All right. So... I'm sorry. All right. So, uh, we're just... No, we're still a quad. Yeah. - So, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. - No, Shaq. - Shaq, Shaq. - I'm sorry. - I'm sorry. - You got a wife, you got a lay friend, somebody out here? You got a mother of this handsome son, you got a lay friend? - Oh, lonely, just a little lonely. - It is, man, well, Brandeils. - Brandeils mother, she did pass on to the ward. - I'm like, are you talking to make sure she's out after your girl? - A little bit. - Yeah, I know, like, don't leave. - There you go, she passes the Lord's hands of, oh, what was that son about eight years ago now? - Oh, that's terrible. - What did you die of? - That's a terrible shame, I'm sorry to do that. - Tactless. - Tactless, what did she die of? (laughing) - She makes me think of it. - What? - I'm sorry, it's too obscure, it's very esoteric, I'm sorry. - All right, that's fine. (clearing throat) - Well, she-- - I'm trying to elbow you for that. (laughing) - Aw. (laughing) - I don't think it's a legitimate question. - Yeah, she stopped the-- - Something we talked about? - She caught the tuberculosis of you. - I'm sorry. - I say I'm sorry, I'm just curious what she died of. And I watch his face. - She's like, look her in the middle. - Twitching, is there any-- - Watching his face for any quickening. - Is there like a psychology equivalent here? - Oh, that's a good idea. - There's a notice. - Okay, yeah, give me a notice roll. - Notice is smarts. (laughing) - Do you have notice? - No. - Really? All right, D4 minus two, please. - D2. - Well, no, D4 minus two. - I was imagining D2 died. - That would be fine. - That would be fine, yeah. (laughing) - Basically. - Five. - What? - Wait, minus two, three. - Yeah, you don't see anything. - I don't hear anything either. I need to notice, I'm a horrible marshal. I can't hear shit. - Yes. - And I have no notice. - No, no, no, no, no. - No, don't forget it. - No, no, not personal, not a lot of smarts. - I'm just ready to kill you, I'll shoot you. - I'm gonna tell you, I are a good marshal. - Someone's gonna make someone an example sooner than they'll know not to cross with me. - That's it. - That's what it cost me. - Okay. - That's a horrible way to be a marshal. - All right, so-- - You will nail them to a cross, and then they'll know not to cross you. - That's right. So on that note, I don't notice anything about his face when he's describing the way his wife died in which I asked-- - Eight years ago. - Eight years ago of the group. - Yes. (laughing) - Okay, so we noticed that they're putting up a church here in town. - Oh yes, indeed, I don't like to brag, but that's basically my initiative. I felt that we could, as we're a growing community, we could use a center for faith and learning here in town. - Indeed, we could. The town always you off, henching. - That was gratitude. - Question is, oh, is this gonna be in any way involved with what's going on in Los Angeles, angels? (laughing) - As it were? - Angels. - Oh no, no, we're not going to be associated with-- - Look, Reverend, no, that's a huge relief. - But you will want to know, Marshall, that some guardian angels do come through town from time to time. - Why, what did they come out here for? - Well, they patrol outside of city boundaries out to about 70 miles or so, I believe. - What? - They will come in for a drink or so. - For a drink, that's it? - That's it. - They better not be trying to force anything out here. - Well, I think that's up to you to make sure they don't. - I'm sure I'm perfectly people doing that. - Speaking of the church, though, we're going to kick off Granville's run for office with a-- - Take walk. - Punch and pie. - Uh, social? - Social. - Yay. - Take walk is a little too ethnic for this crowd. - Exactly. - Take walk? - Yeah, please. - Jeez. (laughing) - Are we born in a barn? (laughing) - A function, we're out of a function, that sounds exciting. - That sounds exciting. - A social function. - When is that happening? - They're raising the steeple on Christmas day. - Wow. - It's five days from now. - Yes. And so we're going to have a punch and pie social at the church to commemorate. - Will Doris still be here? - Can you invite your lady friend? - Shh, shh. - Yeah. - Will Doris. - I'm just going to wait. Yeah, just-- - Should I mention her? - No. - Okay, all right. (laughing) - Ooh, shut up. - Ooh. - It lakers so much. (laughing) - I'm going to tell my cousin he lakers. (laughing) - He's going to tell his cousin. - Right. - All right. - Maybe that'd be your cousin too. (laughing) - And then his cousin is your cousin. (laughing) (laughing) - All right, so, I don't know. We are going to... (laughing) - Oh, you have some kind of, you can invite to that one there, huh, come on. - Shut up, shut up. (laughing) - Wait, wait, wait, wait. - Wait, wait, wait, wait. - He's still with us. - Huh? - At this point, he has-- - He hasn't been with us since this was before. - No. - Well, he was going to the brothel. - No, he was going to the brothel over there. - No, he returned to the brothel. He returned to the brothel. - Whoa, whoa, whoa. - He returned to the brothel. - We didn't run into it. We didn't even run into it. - No, I didn't think that would've been awkward. - Well, we didn't go in the tent, like-- - I like the idea of him, like, in a silk rope, like-- - Yeah. - He took off on, like, he tried to hide in disguise himself. Sorry, I'm sorry. - Rich. - Rich in your life. - Rich in your life. - She's just hopping around. - I am so bad. I'm sorry, you guys. - Okay, no, bring it. - Bring it. - So basically, we are standing in front of this dude. We're talking about these various things. - Rockin' back and forth. - There's five, so five days there's going to be a nice cream center. - Yep. - It's church deep. - It's going off. - Time, time, time punch social. Sorry, I'm embroidering a little bit. The steeple will be raised, and who's doing that? Yeah, they just-- - Well, the people building the church. You know, they've been playing with-- - This is an open community event, and since he's funding, it would probably just be-- - It's going to be wonderful. - So we're really-- - I'm going to be funded by the dude. - Mm-hmm, yeah. - I'm sorry. - There's a lot of work in town for construction types, right? - Oh, man, it's on. - Okay. I just have inappropriate questions. I have nowhere in the-- - The final step. [laughter] - I'm just going to just-- - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - All right. - Have we introduced your doc phone? - Yes. - All right, then. - Well, we-- no, it isn't. - This is the doc. - Yeah. - He's a doctor. He's a good doc phone. - Oh, wow. - He's a good doc phone. - He's a good doc phone. - I hope you're planning to stay there. Can we use a medical professional? - I will definitely see what I can do in my time here. - Mm-hmm. - We're really happy to have make myself available. - Very good. - Very good. - You know, I could probably get you set up with a rental at a good price on a plot of land that I own here in town. - Ah, you land office as well. - Yes, I own several lots here in town. - Do you know? - Well, I'm not sure-- - You don't want them to be staying, but I will certainly keep your offer in mind. Thank you, Mr. Shrek. - Certainly. - Certainly. - What do you learn in town? - Everything. (laughter) - I asked him if he owned rent, and he said no. - Well, a company would-- - You know, of course, my shipping company. - Mm-hmm. - I am owner of the Cliff Watch Hotel. - Oh, yeah. - Although, I tend to stay fairly hands off the management there, right? - Sure. - Trust me. - Mm-hmm. - And as I say, I put Dean on several lots here, and any friend of mine is definitely going to be more than welcome to a reasonable rate that they've choose to purchase land here in town. It's a growing community, and I want to encourage that. - Ooh, it's wicked hot though. - Yeah. - It's a wicked hat. - Why is it so cute? - A hat! (laughter) - Oh mercy. (laughter) - I noticed you don't have-- - You had a-- - It's too hot today. - It's too hot today. - I have a question, Mr.-- - I have two great streets playing. - I have to just quickly, if you guys watch Mitchell and Webb at all-- - Yes, I love Mitchell and Webb. - They have this whole thing where it's like Queen Victoria talking to her prime minister, and it's a really highly inappropriate conversation, but he gets really mad at her. He's talking about how she's doing something very without Victorian keeping. I have boiling, I have boiling this hat and all this stuff to this beer, this big Victorian beer. (laughter) - You guys have to look up, just look at Mitchell and Webb and Lyndon trees, or Queen Victoria. - Okay. - I really know that. - I really know that too. - Yeah. - Definitely. - Never not funny. (laughter) - You watch hours and hours of their collection, you do. - All right. - You really-- - Head more? Head more? Head more? (laughter) - Okay. - So-- - Well, who do you think is-- we need to watch out for in town? - Well, I-- (laughter) - You struggle. - I certainly hope that we don't have any residents here in town that would match that description. It's mostly just the vagrants who come through. - Okay. A lot of refugees coming through. - Oh, yes. Things are really in flux right now. - Yeah. - This used to just be a-- or processing station in a few buildings, and now it's turning into a honest-to-goodness town. - Yeah. - Hmm. - Hmm. - Okay. - I never get any straight answers on anybody. No, no, no. (laughter) - There have to be trouble makers. - Stupid town. - Well, you have to realize to those. It's just so recent in short term. - Yeah. - It's not like, yeah, this is the long abandoned town that's finally getting saved by Marshall after being dragged by a bunch of people. - No, totally. Yeah. - I'm just wondering if, like, what are the main problems? - Like, one of the most real wars. - Yeah. - Real wars around me. - Yeah. - I think they're happy they're gone. - Well, do you want to go check out the CliffWatch Hotel? There could be something going on there. - Yeah, let's go there. - I'll leave some flowers in the carpet for your lady friend upon her arrival. - I'll do that at Mr. Moss's establishment. - I'm gonna range into that ASAP since he owns the place. - I don't think I'm gonna get to her if I put him there. (laughter) - Okay. - Just say it up. - I don't think you guys are talking about analysis. - I'm sorry I ever confided in you, Doc. (laughter) - Call me a home isn't. - You said I'd help increase your chances, man. - You wouldn't be per chance interested in her. - Oh, I forgot. You wrote the interlude so you didn't get your choice of a bonus adventure card or an extra fake chip. (laughter) - Adventure card. - They were gonna eat a heated argument, you broke it up. - Well, I didn't fight over it. - Yeah, they're fighting. - We're not fighting over it. - No. - No, you never mind. - Never mind. - Now, quad thinks that Doc wants the girl. - Yeah, yeah. - I'm gonna get him missed you far. - Probably look in my eyes and say, "No, sir, I ain't got no interest in her." - Nice. - Nicely done. (laughter) - That's good. - That's very good. - You can't deny these big brown eyes. (laughter) - Wow. Okay. All right, look at this. - Mm. - Mm. Let's see here. (laughter) - I love the Desiree, I would never dream unless she had to sharing her card with you. - No, I don't want to show him. (laughter) Back over there. - Back over there. - He's the worst. (laughter) - Oh, nice. - So I can pick something that I don't have. - Yeah, exactly. - I don't like it 'cause I like to surprise everybody. - Well. - It's more of my surprise element. - I like that, too. - Yeah. - But you can hold on to that and tell them to. - It's crazy. - It's 'til I need it. - You don't have to say it in advance. - All right. - Are we gonna fight people soon? - We're going to the, we're going to the, we're going to the, uh... - No, the top. - Okay, so I'm on the hill there. - Dude, I'm getting close to wanting to fight somebody. - Oh, blood left is up. - It's hot. - It is. - Even at night it's hot. - It's so comfortable. - Well, like I say, the hotel is under construction. It's being built off of an existing smaller wooden structure. They're adding second floors and weans and so forth. - Mm-hmm. - It's sort of situated as the name implies along the, uh, the back end is sort of overlooking this, um, this, uh, gully that goes down to the, uh, ocean side. - Yeah, that seems really precarious. - Dangerous. - Yeah, it does seem a bit precarious. - Yeah, um, you know, they've sort of had to reinforce the backside with, uh, you know, stout beams and so forth. - I'm sure. - Uh, but there's a, but the reason for the location is presumably because there's a trail that comes up from the beach where there's a little dock area. - Oh, really? - Yes. - Mm-hmm. - My dock. - Yes, indeed. - Someone I know, nice boating. - I traded it out for shooting. - Oh! - Do you guys have my next one? - Oh. - My next one. - Dang. - I'm gonna get it. - Nice. - All right, now. That's the next, my plan to acquire no worries. - All right, we could go, we could go exploring over there. - I was going to, then I decided that we needed to shoot. - Yeah. - People aren't going to need it to boat yet. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Not having the shooting is horrible. - All right. - Okay. - That's pretty much standard issue. - Yeah. - I was looking at like, um, there's like a thing of sample character. - I don't recommend this guide of all the shit you actually have. - I know. - Yeah. - It was a bunch of character templates. - Right. - So like if you're gonna just hand out characters really quick and just do like a munchock. - Oh, that's cool. - Yeah. Every Jack, one of them had either fighting or shooting. - Right. - You know, I mean, you gotta have something. - Okay. - I wanna be you as a GM. Like the next time you run it for somebody, you need to tell them. - I would definitely emphasize that. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Be a better GM. - Oh. - I think we're doing just- - Rockfall everyone dies. - Oh. - Oh. - Game all over. - I'm just kidding. - There's a wrong plague in the Earth. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Your group. - As well as your character. - Whoa. - You're still alive. - Oh. - Game play just can't do anything. - Exactly. (laughter) - That's GM talk. - You're looking at the list room with your right face. - But yours actually, you're in purgatory. - Yeah. - Oh. - The rest of the game, but you're still involved. - No. - Check in on me when you're- - Oh my God. - Oh my God. - Jay, you can be a GM. - You're good. - I know, I can see him. - I feel really good. You think about that? - Yeah. - You've got the magic in you. - Yeah. - You've got it. (laughter) - That one takes. - Sorry. - So, we're going to close up. Okay, so we're inside. - Get out of here. You don't have the magic. (laughter) - All right. - I'm gonna write that one. - Yeah. - That's from... - It's from a movie. I forget. - Don't have the magic in you. - You don't have the magic. Get out of here. - Oh, no. It's from a rest of the world. - Yeah. - It's been jokes. The throwing buster out. - Yeah. - You don't have the magic in you. (laughter) It's really great. All right, so... - All right, so... - Is there anyone at the desk? - Yes, of course. - Oh, lovely. - Wonderful. - And he's happy to answer all of your questions. - Mm-hmm. This is like a really getting to know you. - For the story session. - It is. - It is. - To everyone in town. - You know, a lot of the miners from out in the maze, they come here to sell their ore so that, you know, they... - What was it? - They say office? - Not here. - No, okay. - Specifically, but, you know, they'll stay here. - All right. - They go to the ore processing station actually sell their... - All right. - Sell their goods. So, you know, that's why they're situated where they are. - Great. Okay. So, who's at the front desk? - A gentleman named Mr... - Oh, here, that was a buzz ball drop. (laughter) - You knew we were in there. - Mr. Schmidt. Excuse me. (laughter) - Mr. Schmidt. - Yes. - All right. So, evening to you, Mr. Schmidt, here we are. - Yes. - We have the mayor. - Yes. - The new marshal, and this is Doc Funk. - Doctor Gull. - Doctor Gull. - No, Doctor Gull. - Everyone wants their wings looked at. - Everyone's hungry. - Everyone's looked at. - Yeah. - I'm like... - You guys don't know what you get yourselves. - Nope. - Well, since Oregon's a refugee, he just got their town bomb. - Yeah. - I have an idea. - Mm-hmm. - Her ghost rock cauterized as well. - No. - No. - There's a cauterizing agency. - Ooh. - Mm-hmm. - So, you're going to hit by some shrapnel. - I'm sure it was your problem. - It was your problem. - Yep. - Yep. - No infection. That's what matters. - Nice. - Yeah, be right. - All right. So, this is the hotel. - So, what does it look like? Is it got wallpaper on the walls? - No, it's pretty funky. - Stinky, really? - Yeah. - Mm-hmm. - Nothing. - Mm-hmm. - Nothing good. - This place. - Oh, she is a fallen angel. - Oh, yeah, sorry. - That's where I'm going to be staying, too. - Oh, that's right. - I just forgot that she wasn't staying at the close-up hotel. - Yeah, well, say, you know, you know. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - All right. Anyway, so, you got a lot of people staying here then. - Yeah, that's a good question. - Crowded full house? - Oh, well, we don't have a lot of rooms right now. So, yeah, this is kind of a full house. - Kind of full, yeah. - Yeah. But I do have one room open. - And any of you are looking... - You're going to sleep in the jail with me? - Oh, I was going to sleep out of my horse. - And the donkey. - That's going to be rough. - The donkey. - I have a better one. - There are stables in town. - Yeah, I mean, come on. You could sleep in the jail or... - You could sleep in the hotel. - Yeah, you could stay. - I'm in a piss pot. - That's right. - You'll have your own pee pot. I promise. Nobody else will pick it. - You want to stay at the fallen angel? How many rooms are at the fallen angel? - Uh, you didn't ask. But I believe, like you said, they were at least a couple of them. - Yeah. I'd rather stay at this one. I'm not going to lie. - Yeah. - I'd be close to the odd. Do you want me to come stay with you at the jail, Kongie? - No, I can handle it. - Oh. - I'll come stay at the jail with you. - No, I can handle it. You don't have to stay. I was just curious. - Yeah. - It wasn't like an invitation. - It's okay. - Now I'm married. - I understand you get lonely. - Don't get lonely. It doesn't happen to me. I don't even know what that word means. - I shouldn't do some shit. That word. - I get on a magical adventure. - You're no longer my deputy. - Oh, no. - Until tomorrow. - Until tomorrow. - We'll leave you. - That comes up. - Yep. - Yep. - Deputy stands jail. - We'll have those cheap parts. - Tonight, Deputy. I'll most likely kill you in the morning. - Yeah. - Exactly. - All right. - Okay. - So. - Any troublemakers? - Yeah. - Any troublemakers. - Yeah. - Well, none that we haven't been able to run off. - Very good. - Really? - But it'll be nice to have someone here. To do that for us. - Tell me. - Well, how frequently have you ever run off? - People. - Oh, about as much as you might expect. - Quite often then. - Indeed. - Indeed. - Indeed. - Indeed. - So right now. - Yes. (laughter) - That's gonna leave. (laughter) - Okay. - Great. - So. - Should I know it? Is there anything suspicious about that? - Wait, yes. What is it? - Where is she performing? - At the public. - At the public? - Angel. - Angel for fuck's sake. - Six. - Six. - Six live. - Well. - Seeing at the cliffside hotel. - Right. Now, she's staying and performing there. - Okay. - Okay. - I just wasn't there on that. - Okay. Sorry. Me too. - Well, if it was important to you, it'd be clear. - No. - This is the authority, right? - Well, obviously. - What's your favorite food? What's your favorite food? - Melbitos. - Melbitos. - Melbitos. - I really like Melbitos. - I love Melbitos. - The two idea. I like it. - It's one of my favorite foods. - It's really good. - Oh my God. - Get out of my UK. (laughter) - This one's like, "I've never had it nor have I met anyone." - It's good. - Oh my God. - I always talk about how I talk. - I love actually. - It's good. - I like many types of crackers and Melbitos is good. - I do love crackers, but. - It's like a breadcracker. - Your bread is coming. - Yeah, there's nothing. - I'm just waiting now. Like the next thing seems to be a box of Melbitos right in front of me. - Yeah. - We're going to guess what's going to be for snack maybe. - You don't have to like it. - No, you know. - It's more Melbit for us. - It's like the thinnest type of bread, toasted crunchy and ikpa. - What are you not? - So good. - What are you looking up at? - Maybe we're old ladies. - I'm just talking expenses here. - For Melbitos. - I guess my point was more that nobody's favorite food was necessarily Melbitos. - Oh, but it could be. - It could be. It's tasty. - I believe I used to ask my aunt to buy Melbitos for me. - Aww. - So anyway. It's funny that you would say that too. - Why? - Why would you say that? - Because Melbitos was used in the 1900s as like a, like it was made popular by, you know. - There's a woman. - Like a singer. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - She would eat it. - Yeah. - She wanted like this relief in toast so she could put anything on and eat it blocked. - And then it got popular. - Right. - Like this whole class that's too big for the toast. - It's too big. - She had to fold it over. - Right. - And then she was making. - What is this? - What is this? - It's a particulate. - Yeah. - All right. So basically, she filled it on the bread and then that's, no, I don't, no, I don't like that. All right. So basically, if you're being a prima donna, you're just being a regular donna. All right. That's the commentary we have to watch that. - We do. - All right. So basically Melbitos is delicious. - It's delicious. - It's dang here. So Marshall and Doc, you'll be at the jail. - I don't want to be in my jail now. - You'll be like in blazing saddles. - Yeah. - I know. - Good hanging out together. - That's what we're like. - All right. - I got my own piss pot. - That's right. - Wow. - I want to do my own piss pot. - Wow. - All right. You got to empty your own piss pot. - I know. - I wouldn't expect you to touch me. - You go outside. Don't you, King? - Yeah. - I'm never peeing. Sorry. - I don't know. That's a good chance I will too. I grew up on a farm. - Yeah. - Well, there's plenty of room out behind the jail that you just go about a hundred yards. - Is that cute, man? - I don't know. - I don't know. - It's too much. - No. - Look, you both independently go out at night. - Yeah. - Like not realizing it's both headed out. - Yeah. - They're like headed to the moonlight. - Who is that? [laughter] - Mark, are they you? - Yeah. Leave me alone. - Shut up. - We're peeing. - Well, I was going to say basically behind the jail, if you go out about a hundred yards, you get to the sea cliffs. - Oh, be careful. - Yeah. [laughter] - Wait! - It's not the cliff. - Yeah. - Try that off my list. - This is true. Just going to come back at you. - Oh, please. - Yeah, watch out for the sea regions. - I ain't got to start each other like that. - Oh, no. - For another day. - The non-recording day. - The non-recording day. - Okay, yeah. Okay. - Yeah. - So, um, adventure. This is like an expository session. - Yes. - Basically. Are you in a hurry? - No. - It's just very different from our last session. - It's cool pacing, people. [laughter] - Yes, there's a sea of skills. - This is the chatty bedroom slippers. - Okay. So, it's true. - All right. - It's called lulling you into a false sense of security before the hammer drops. - I was waiting for the hammer. - All right, so... - Oh, that's why I keep... I feel like we're like putting it off. - It's getting near? - It's getting near. - It's getting near. - Where are we going to go? What next? Is it night or sleep? I'm going to go to sleep. - What time is it? - Oh, yeah. It's evening, for sure. - So, I think we should get a meal... There's a goose back there. I think that we should get a meal who's serving food in town. - Right. So, you can get a meal of either of the two saloons. - All right, so... - Great. - That's terrific. - You get some food. - Mm-hmm. - So, what I was looking up here was your costs. - I ate a goose egg this morning for the first time, Ellen. - I ate a goose egg? - Yes. I've never had a goose egg before. They're delicious. - I'm a big fan of duck eggs, personally. - Oh, yeah? I don't think I've ever had a duck egg. - Well, you know how rich and just decadent duck is? - Yes. - That's how their eggs are, really. - Mm-hmm. - It's like extra fatty. - Yeah. - Just extra... - Oh, I want them. - Where do you get duck eggs? - I used to just get them from a crunchy raised duck. - You can sometimes get them from the farmer's market, though. - I'll keep my eyes peeled. That's where I got the goose eggs. - Yeah. - Shut up. - Big, big cake. - Sorry. - Okay. So, meal at the following needle, ready to buck 25. - Guys, we're paying for my food. - I can say something and I'm not. - What? Nope. Yep. Okay. Sure enough room, say it. Say it to my face. - Uh-oh. - Oh, we're gonna start fighting. - We're gonna start fighting. - We're gonna fight, guys. - All right. - I don't have any money. - Simmer. - It's okay. - Simmer. - It's okay. - Simmer. - Simmer. - Hey. - Hey. We're a team. - Yes. - We're a team. - What the hell are you feeling? High and mighty with your money? - No. - All right. - So, basically, your daily food costs are gonna run you about four bucks a day. - Fine. I'm good for it. You know that. - No, no, no. There's something clever. - I'm gonna start seeing people tomorrow. - Yeah, yeah. - Apparently, everyone knows there's now a doctor in town. - Yeah, you know there's a certain set of fingers. - Fingers crossed for him. I would like this sign to see a very largely veterinarian. - Yeah. - And doctor. - And doctor. - In a pinch. Yeah, that was so great. - I think you're serious. - Yeah. - That's so wonderful. I was like, what the hell are you? - Okay. Nice to have a patient to talk about. - Yeah. - He was my inspiration. - I know. We had that in mind when we were watching it. So, we're eating food. - Yeah. - Then Quad wanted to make a comment about to me, but it won't now. - Right. - And is it crowded? - Uh, yeah. - Oh, yeah. - Are people talking about Aurora? - Is there piano player? - Oh, yes. - Plinking away? - Wow, that's pretty good. - Uh-huh. - This is pretty cool. - Yes, it is. - I'm kind of mesmerized. I think that's cool. The piano is neat. - Is it cooled down at all? - No. - Well, yeah. - It's hot. - The burly layer? - No. - The burly layer has moved in, so it's cooled off a bit. - Good. - Oh, no. It's moist. - Oh. - Yeah. - It's worse. - Sticky. - Yeah. - Yeah. - So. - So. - All right. So. - Basically, um. Yeah. You know, a lot of people come around and do some soles, you know, so forth. - Meeting the town. - And you very quickly settle into a, uh, sort of a routine, if you will. - Oh. - Uh, Marshall. You find that you were often called upon to break up brawls and follow angels to win. - Um. - Follow angels more than webs? - Definitely. - What's the probability of a routine? How many days is this routine, too? - Yeah, we're sort of fast forwarding to your couple. - Oh. - Well, you know, too many days. - Yeah. - Yeah, I know. A couple of days. - Okay. - Um. - You know, you make an arrest, you know. - Oh, I do. - You know, drunken disorder. - Damn, okay. - Um. And, you know, you just have to kinda take your horse and go patrol the roads and rail lines outside of town. - I'll do that. - You know. And just generally look after the peace and welfare of every last inhabitant of predictions, which right now numbers about 400. - That's not so bad. - I'm like this responsibility. - The mayor, on the other hand, is going to have to mediate all kinds of disputes. - All right. - Uh, disputes between workers and wasatch officials. Disagreements between orchippers over right-of-way, corals between various community members over how, where, and when the election will take place. - Mm. - Uh, land rights, building rights. - How many days? - Two. - Wow. - This is just the stuff that's becoming apparent to you. - All right. I'm sure it becomes apparent very quickly. - Uh, it does become apparent very quickly. Also, uh, Hattie Wagner informs you that there is a weekly meeting between, uh, the shipping company reps and yourself at the Civil Liaison's office, and she expects you to be punctual. - Fine. - All right. - All right. - Gotta watch. I'll be there. - All right. So, Friday rolls around. - Yeah, we do. - What's Doc Funk doing? - Oh, of course. You are inundated with clients. - What is the most pointless written? - Oh. - Toothless. - Yeah. You got, you're treating a lot of burns from the, uh, from the bombing. Um, some venereal diseases, true, must be said. - Oh. - A lot of prostitutes coming in with the police. - Oh. - Yeah. - I've never, no, I've never had to deal with that before. - Yeah. - Yeah, that's what I mean. - That's new. Chey and unhappy. - Yeah. - A little bashful. - Oh. - Kind of your nose. - Yeah. - Oh, my God. - Oh, my God. - Jesus. - Being realistic. - Uh, you do treat a horse with Donaria, but, you know. - Oh! - Yeah. - Yeah, that's what you're being. - Larkins. [laughter] - He's back. - Yeah. - He's back. - Yeah, he's back. [laughter] - So. - All right. - And then the horse has gone to Rio with David's trademark. - Charlie, that's right. - Well, that's, he's up in the... - That level. - Up in the realism. He tends to do that. - That's true. - Like that little lady. - And she. - She just got, you know. - Yeah. - Takes it up a notch. - Yeah. - Horse is doking to Rio. - I have to see one more Donaria case. [laughter] - Well, you gotta see my horse. [laughter] - Yeah. - Well, Lisa won't be gotta reassign him up at you. - Yeah, exactly. [laughter] - She's like, it really hurts whenever you pees. [laughter] - You're a very grimacing face. - No. - No. - It doesn't happen. - No. - No. - No. - No. [laughter] - It's another... - No. - No. [laughter] - Oh, and meanwhile, you get word back that Lisa has found his candidate. He's the head of the telegraph office. - Oh, God. - His name is Luke Watson. Called by many townsfolk Joker for his amiable personality. - What in the hell? Wait, that's his... - Amiable. - Amiable. - For... - Lacey. - For Mayor. - Are you crazy? This guy's gonna give his gizzard hand to Joker. - The joker. - The joker. - The joker. - The feet, townsfolk like him. And he's got their best interests in mind, right? - He's a jiggle finger. - All right. - I convinced him. His name's Ferdy Dant. - He's got a hard marshall. - Oh, Harvey Dent. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Oh, it's really a popular mayor. If you got a hard marshall, then... - Mm-hmm. - Yeah. - Well, no. You're talking about, like, you want to stay here. - Right. We got things to do. - I gotta find my... I gotta find a candidate who will beat me. - You don't have to run. - I think they might want you to point me. They can't appoint me again. - Well, why don't you get out of there quickly enough? - Right. - I'm escaping the night. - Thank you for my pay, and I'm out of here. - Come on. - Adios. - All right, so... - You've got to force the gallery, though. - Yeah, that's a kid, didn't it? - No, this isn't. So it's Friday. - Friday, and, uh, yes. - What's going on? - Well, there's, you know, the talk of the town is... - It's hard. - The arrival. - You look awfully nice today. - Ah! - Can you share your thoughts? - Is that Lilax? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Oh my God. Did you take a bath? - Yeah. - Yeah. What did you do in preparation? - Yeah. - I'm curious. - I went down to the barber. - I went down to the barber. - I went down to the barber. - Yes. - God damn. - He cleaned your teeth. - Uh-huh. And turned my eyebrows, as we were getting a little bit... - Yeah, a little bit. - ...by the staveline. - I love to distinguish. Don't show me the captain. - Do you think she'll still recognize you if you look so nice? - Hey. - Oh! Sick. - Well... - This rock's not the only thing that's burning tonight. - Yeah. - Hey. - I'm on fire. - I'm on fire. - There was no comment. - There was no comment. - There was no comment. - No comment. - Arrange. - I had a comment, but again, I chose not to say no. - Arrange won't say it for your lady friends. - Why did you say it? - Right, so she can take the flowers, man. - Okay. - Come on. - All right. - All right. - All right. - Is there any kind of... How would I get flowers out here? - Uh, there's some wild flowers to grow out on one of the flip sides. - That's right. You go pick them yourself. - No, I don't think she's good. They're not gonna be good enough for her. - Oh, good flowers. It's better than nothing. - I don't think so. But I'll do it anyway. I'll do it 'cause you say, "All right, I turned you in matters of romance. I will go." - That's right, you do. All right. - Is that way it might not be? - Quite as pathetic. - Nothing wrong with wild flowers. - All right. All right. We'll see about that. - Maybe they'll make her sneeze. - Plus it means... - Oh, maybe they'll make her sneeze. - What? - Maybe they'll make her sneeze. - Mm-hmm. - Okay. - She doesn't have to keep them. She'll offer them to her. - All right. - Mm-hmm. - All right. - All right. - Okay. - The town is... - The town is fine. - It's fine. - All right, Doc. Anything else? What else should I get, Doc? Is that it? - Don't talk too much. - Don't talk too much. - Okay. I'm writing all this down. Thank you. - On your hand. - Yeah. - Don't do no talking. - Do it. (laughter) - Slower's gone. - Slower. - Wow. All right. So, wild turkey. - She's a lady. She's dreaming wild turkey. - What can we get out here? - Wine. - Yeah. - Sweet wine. Delicious wine. (laughter) - It's good of a range to have someone get you something. - Don't you think they have liqueurs? Like, nice liqueurs? - Like a cordial liqueur? - It's a liqueur? - It's a liqueur. - It's a liqueur. - I don't know. Jinking sweet liqueur. - Mm-hmm. Yes, but it would be a little spendy. I'm not sure how much money you want to drop. - How much? - Sure. - How much is it? - Of the good stuff. - Yeah. - You want a bottle? - Maybe. - 25 bucks. - Oh yeah. - Stop it. - Stop it. - This is a meeting ordained by fate. - Mm. - Triflin matters of 25 bucks. - I'm sad. You've got damn flowers. - All right. Thank you guys. - Thank you guys. - I made you in the wings. (laughter) - Just to help coach. - All right. Well, so what time does she arrive in town? Are we expecting what's going on there? - She's a leader. - She's a leader. - Should meet her at the station? - You are the mayor. - Ah. - That's right. - Okay. - That's right. - Hello there. - Hello lady. - Hi lady. - Can I help you from your coach? - Yes. - Okay. - Yeah, yeah, yes. - Yes. - All right. So you're down at the train station without 40 other people. - Hey. - In a band. (singing) - No band in town. - No band in town. - Yeah, but you would have work with us. (laughter) - All right. - Let's hear a confidence just for him. - Yeah. - The accompanist. - Oh, the accompanist. (laughter) - For you. - The band. - Keep barking in the train. - Connect keyboard. (singing) (laughter) - There's a dare now. - Oh. - Here we are. - Oh. - That's kind of weird. - There we go. - All right. - Which meant to be so that it was meant fate. - I can't hardly stand it doc. - So the afternoon train rolls in. - There's butterflies. We just tell me. - It's gracious to a halt. Steam pouring out of the pistons. And various passengers begin to depart. You see her. - Mm-hmm. - A lighting chrome. The passenger train. - Mm-hmm. - The passenger train. - Mm-hmm. - All the chorus of angels playing behind her. - Yeah. - The sun kind of catches her hair. - Mm-hmm. - There's little colors here. - And you get a picture of them. - And you get a picture of them. - Sort of a sort of a coppery. - Sure. - Appery red. - Yeah. - Sure. - Yeah. (laughter) - The main thing is that it's a little curly. - Okay. - It's a little fly away. - Yeah, exactly. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Mm-hmm. - And, you know-- - Tiny little weights. - Yes. - They're fancy Parisian dress. - Oh my goodness. - Yeah. - And the biggest damn green eyes you have to see. - That's right. (laughter) - Aerosol. - Mm-hmm. - Pushy. - Yep. - Unfurls and lifts, hoist over your head. - So the performance has begun. - It has. - It never ends. - Mm-hmm. - Never ends. Okay? - And so there's a general round of applause as you get off. (laughter) - We're always infidels, we're clapping. (laughter) - Shut up! Shut up! - For my word. - You're the leader. Come on. - You're the leader to get bigger. Make it bigger. - Yeah. - Like that's right. You're the leader of this. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - You'll arrange this. - You still dox hand pressing into your back. - An interesting approach, Doc. Thank you. Okay. All right. Couldn't do with that. Here we go. (laughter) - And a fellow with waxed mustachios is getting off. - That's a company. - He's no good. So you step forward. - And a powerful to be friends with a guy who's with her all the day and time. - Oh! - Oh! - I shouldn't be against that guy. - No, you shouldn't be against that guy. - Oh, okay. - So you take your hand. - Yeah, I'm tipping my hand. - All right. - Okay. - So there's this moment. - I am, welcome. - This is a whole ship of. - Yeah, so there's a moment where she looks at you just like, "Oh, you're just some guy." (laughter) - And she recognizes you. - Oh! - This is why Mr. Prittullis. (laughter) So nice to see you here. - You're cold. (laughter) - She's the head of the welcoming committee then. - Yeah, this is indeed my pleasure to welcome you to Prittullis. What a wonderful surprise it is to see you in this God forsaken place. - As mayor. - As mayor. - As mayor. - As mayor. - I want to, as mayor. - Okay. - I extend the entire town before you in greeting. - Mayor, you say. - Indeed. - Oh, man. - That is most commendable. - Most commendable. (laughter) - Most commendable. That's about all she can say, really. - Yes. - Well, you're going to say the flash right after the performance. - Right, right, right. You don't have any now. - And should I have left the bottle in her room? - Yeah. - You're really forcing the bottle to ran here. - No, no, no, no, no. - No, no, no, no. Okay, all right. So that's been done. Okay, all right. - This is my accompanist, Mr. Reed. - Mr. Reed. Pleasure to meet you, sir. - Good job. - Yes. - Yes, yes. - Manly grips. - Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. - Mr. Reed. - I trust you have arranged a buggy. - Yes, you did. - Of course. - Of course we did. - Of course we did. How far is the train station from the center of town? How much time? - Oh, like 50 yards. (laughter) - All right. - Of course. - All I have to do is just... - Yeah. - It's like one minute by a buggy. (laughter) - Okay. - You can't expect a lady of her carriage to walk. - Yeah. - It's true. - Okay. - All right. - I do declare it. I feel fine. - Yeah, exactly. - It's not surprised. It's hot. - So hot. - Okay. - So, yes. There's a buggy standing bug. - Okay. - And you help her into it. - Yes. - Do I get in the buggy, too? - If you want to. - I do want to. - Okay. - I'll sit across her. - Okay, sure. - I'll link it. - She's totally recognized. Recognized. - You know each other, right? - We did know each other. - We'll be back when. - Okay. - All right. - Isn't it odd that fate has brought us together so? - Oh, certainly. - It is. I can't help but think it's some kind of a sign. - I suppose. - Yes, it is. - And was it. - Don't I hit on too thick. - It was it first. I'm running by the kitty. (laughter) - You're like clinging to the side. - Yeah. - Okay. - Okay. - I'll do it horribly. - All right. - Cool. - Cool. - All right. - All right. - All right. - So we're there. - So we're there. - We're going to go to the street on up, turning at the corner of Sally Town. You're hoping she doesn't notice all the tent brothels. Turns the corner and heads up to the farm angel. - Okay. - Yes. - And where you deep bark. - Right. - Okay. - And let's see here. - I don't know. - Missers. - Scuse it's intense, dude. - I know. - Moss and spine. - Makes me a lot longer. Yeah. It makes me think she's evil. - She might be. - Moss and spine. The owner operators of the ball angel are there to love her as well. - Moss and spine. I hope your journey wasn't too stressful. - Oh, not terrible. You know, training travel can be a bit draining. - Well, when you get to your room, you'll find that I've seen-- - Duh duh duh. - It's a secret surprise. - Duh duh. - Dipping. - Dipping. - Waiting on her best table with a packed full card. - Dipping. - Oh my gosh. - Jesus. - Dipping. - An assortment of sausages. - I thought that was later. - An assortment of sausages. Jesus Christ. - That is your later. - A beverage farm gift basket. - Oh my gosh. - Oh my gosh. - There better be some friggin' Brussels in there. - That's right. - Some albatos. - Some albatos. - Some albatos. - And jam, and all sorts of not-spery farm stuff. - Oh my gosh. - Oh my gosh. - Oh my gosh. - And jam, and all sorts of not-spery farm stuff. - Yes. - Yes. - Because of course, not-spery farm is established. - Absolutely. - Or something else. - And of course, it's not- and of course, it's about 50 feet under water. - No. - No. - I just thought, Mary, you know, the Atlantean nuts. - Right. - Damn it. - Well, if there is a not-spery farm now, it's officially not scary farm, for sure. - Like every day. - Like every day. - Like every day. - Like every day. - Not just the month of October. - No. - Yeah, just maybe thinking of not-spery farm. Sorry. - Cursed, cursed, more people. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Making jelly out of life. - Where'd she be at this? - All right, so- - Take your comments. - So, Mrs. Moss and Stein, how did you come to invite this beautiful songbird from Becky's? - Well, we had word that she was touring the West, and- - Oh, we can congratulate you on that choice. - Well, thank you. - Well done. - Thank you. - All right. That's it. - Where does she go? Where is she still there? - No, she's- - I thought that her- - Yeah. - How long is the engagement? - One week. - One week? - Okay. - It's a long time. - It is a very long time. - Yes, I believe she's heading up to Shan Fan next. - Okay. - You can follow her. You're a little rowdy. - Maybe. We'll see what happens. - You're a rowdy. - Yeah, exactly. That'd be hilarious. - Oh my God. - You made me go man. - Yeah. - Yeah, bow man. - Yeah. - Yeah. [laughter] - So, um- - Okay. - Yeah, so, so Quad's kind of like weird. I've never seen him like since "Speechless" before. It's kind of weird. - Just "Speechless" ever. - I am never. - Like, seeing all the wrong things though. - Yeah. We're kind of like- - You're just screwing the head. - Screwing the head. So, um- - I love this music. - I don't know. - What, you're like in your late 40s? - Yeah. It's unsettling. - Oh, it's not because I'm like twice or twice my age. - Uh-huh. - Uh-huh. - And her age. - And her age. - By this point. - Nope. - Quad. - Nope. This is the one. I'm going to screw this up without any help. - Man, this is your question. - What can I say? - I know. - I know. - I know. I should be your- - Cyril. - Yeah. - Just not interested. - Mm-hmm. - So, basically she's up there. - Mm-hmm. - Those are just such things. - Be careful. That's where I started out. That's where I started out. - Out. - Not going back. - So on that note, we're going to, um- - Rest of the day. How does the rest of the day go? She arrived and- - You know, pretty, pretty normal. But, uh- - People are- - Things about inviting her to suffer before her performance. Okay. Done. - Bam. - Dude, Doc has all the ideas. - I know. - I would be lost without Doc. - You better watch out. - All right. So, yeah. She'll, uh- She'll take supper in her room. - Okay. Am I- Am I in? - Invitation. - Ugh. - Okay. - And- Boom. Ghost dynamite. Ah! - Wait, you really have dynamite on you. - Oh, yeah. Careful. - All right. So, leave the dynamite. Leave the dynamite. - Yeah, leave it as your room. - Yeah. Why? - Why? - It's exploding cigar. - Oh, shit. - That was a sausage assortment. - Yeah. - Right. - Right. - You're just trying to throw all sorts of phallic imagery or- - Oh, tears of goth. - Oh, tears of goth. - Stick. - Try to get the message across. - Maybe you don't mention my horse with a gutter. - Yeah. - Not a good gutter. - What a good gutter. - Don't mention the gutter. - Don't mention the gutter. - That was gonna start with that. - Interesting, but not appropriate. - No, it's gonna start with that. - No, it's gonna start with that. - No, it's gonna start with that. - No, okay, 'cause I thought it was interesting. - No, okay. - You know, it's making a sausage. My friend dog's fun, 'cause of course it's gonna be earlier. - Yeah. - Poor thing. Just we need every time I have to piss. - Yeah. - It's stronger. - Yeah. - Don't. - Don't mention that. - Don't mention that. - Best for the boys' clubs for the boys' clubs. - Oh. - If you think it's appropriate to say in front of Kongi, don't say it in front of her. - Oh. - Okay. - Yeah, exactly. - Right. No offense, Kongi. - That's true. - But that's taken. - Oh, dear. - Aw. - She's like the show in the claim of our red pack here. - Yeah. - Okay. - I'll deal with all this boys' bullshit. - Yeah. - Yeah. - All right. Sorry. - Sure, you have dinner. - Yes, I'm having dinner. Been wild. - Church people raising them Wednesday. - Wednesday. So we have time to come. I got it. - Tuesday, since Tuesday. - I've got a funny here. - I'm sorry about that church. - But that's the thing. Just play a cool man. - Just do that. - That's all if he does away. You better invite her to that damn Pride punch social. - That's right. We're having that thing. - So invite her. Do all your special stuff. - All right. We're having a function. - All right. So how does all that go? - Right. - What? Who? - What? - Oh my God. - How does the evening go? - We're obsessed with this date, this dinner date. - Oh, the date? - And you don't even know what we're talking about. - Which makes me worried. - No, yeah, I know. - So you said all that. I'm like, what do you mean all that? - She's gonna turn and do an octopus woman. - That's a good idea. (laughing) - That is worse than gonorrhea. (laughing) - I don't know. - Trying to take away. - Really? (laughing) - It probably is. It probably is. They're handy though. - All right. So. - To the back of the side. (laughing) - I don't think that's what you're saying. It's got it. - Oh. - In the middle. - Speaking. - That's all it's important to me. (laughing) - That's all you want. (laughing) - What do you do? You're being really too quiet. It's really scary. - I'm like talking. - I'm talking. Now that they're at supper. We can't ask you anyways. Why don't we check out who else got off on that train? Okay. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's he companies doing? He's suspicious. - Mr. Reed. He's suspicious. He's the black mustache. - Yeah. - Say it more. - And shifty eyes. I don't, you know, whatever. - He wasn't. No, he didn't know shifty eyes. - No, he didn't know shifty eyes. He just missed. Oh, he's the stache student. You feel intimidated by him. - Yes. - Cause he's taller than him. - Cause he gets to be around her all the time. - Yeah. Like, he probably was in there. - He's probably male gay. - He's probably a male gay. (laughing) - I do believe, Quad, he's what you call a dandy. - Oh, okay. - Yeah. - Popish, if you will. - Yeah. - What? - He's too many eyelashes. It'll be fresh. - Too many eyelashes. - He has a double row of eyelashes, it's just not right. - Oh no, it's a term, I'm kind of thinking of who gets coveted. He's too many eyelashes. - Nice. - And it's a pot from the leaf dock. (laughing) So downstairs, you guys have gotten your seats for the show, and it's filling up rapidly. - I bet it is. - We'll save one for Quad. - Yes, most of the town. - Yeah, like a front seat. - Front seat, front seat. - Oh yeah, oh yeah. - That's from the mayor. - The mayor, yeah. - Absolutely, reserved. A little, a little, you know. - I need to stand in the back of the crowd and like observe, see if there's anything in it. - I'm torn over near the entrance, right? - Yeah, and I'm not gonna cover another exit. - Sure. - But there's like a little sash over your seat. - Yeah, that's a good idea. - I don't know how you're gonna sit next to you. I kind of don't want to sit next to you while you're watching this show. - Yeah, no, you wouldn't want to scream. - So it's fresh and it's guaranteed on the show. (laughing) - Why would I say that? Why not? - It's all they got that's gonna be in the room. - It's gonna be in the room. - We can sanitize. - Or say, oh, it's a girl. - Do they used to do that? They don't do that anymore. - They don't do that anymore. - I guess it's not. - I guess it's not a waste of paper. - It's not sanitizing, it's not sanitizing. - It's not sanitizing. - It's not sanitizing. (laughing) - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - They don't want to open themselves up to us. - I haven't made a single dye roll, let's make a dye roll. - Come on, you're all done. - I'm going to get to use my card. - Okay, so... - You're waiting for the issue to drop the next 20 minutes. - Well, I'm not going to end in 19 sharp, I mean, come on. - 903? - Probably. - That's all right, in a minute, that's fine. - So, you're up in the guest room. - Right. - You know, some food you've been brought up. - Oh, okay. - Oh, we're banking it up. - We're banking it up, yes. - Personal bottle of liquor. - I'm cool. - Yes. - She thanked you. She thanked you for the good stuff. - I'm very good. All right. - Yeah. - Nice. - Meanwhile, downstairs, things are getting a little rowdy. - Uh-oh. - Yes, while waiting for the show to start, a political conversation is broken out the window between supporters of Granville Kurtz and Joker Watson. - Hmm. I'm going to just walk down the hall, where's the, like, the main center of activity? - It's kind of all through the crowd. Someone said something over here, someone shouts a retort, you know? - So I'm going to go to the front. - Mm-hmm. - Oh, my gun. The people are looking at me, right? - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Does it calm down a little bit? - I'm trying an intimidation. - Oh, these are bad. - Wanna go for a walk on that intimidation? - Yes, I am. - Yes, I am. - Well, I'll get your extra shit for that, so. - Look. Okay, just in case. - Yeah. - Um, so let's see. - We haven't used an intimidation. - Six. - I don't know. - I just sit here again. - I know. - Um. - I always use a bullet to boost it, too. - Wait, is the intimidation, vigor? - No, it's your skill, intimidation. - Oh, okay. - Okay. - Okay. - Okay. - Six, I aced it. - Wow. - Plus one is seven. - You're good. - Do you want to add anything with your chips? - Yeah, look. Wait, which, I'm sorry. You have to remind me what blue is representing. - Well, if you do the blue one, can't you add a D6? - That's right. - Yeah, to any total. - Blue. - No penalty. - Adding a D6. So, seven plus two is nine. - No. - All right, I'm standing there. One of my guys. That's a success in race. - Mm-hmm. - So it calms down to, you know, people quiet down. - So as they quiet down. - Mm-hmm. - I say that discussion is not for this. Is it? Sam, Sam, I really can't think of it. - Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I have to say, gentlemen. - Yeah. - It's a nice night of rehearsal, right? - Mm-hmm. - So we have the seriousness aside for the evening and... - What do you say? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah. - You're here. - Yeah. - Yeah. - What do you say? That was good. - That was good. - I like what you said. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah. - All right, so... - Yeah, enjoy the show. - Yeah. - Yay! - Yay. - Yay. - It's not... - Yeah. - I appreciate it. - You're like Joan's merino, no, no, no, no. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Oh my God. Look, guys. We're here to have fun. Jersey. - Jersey. - Jersey. - Sorry, the tenant dangle, the short shorts. - Yeah! - Always. - Was this cowboy hat? - Oh my God. Sorry. - Come on, come on. - It's been a while upstairs. - Yes? - She was free. - You know, you passed me old, you know. - Yeah. - Pleasant conversation. - Good. - And, uh, presently she says... - Does she like him? - Oh. - Well, you know. - What's she saying? - Time for me to go down and start the show. - Right. Wonderful. Thank you. - Oh, my gosh. - What am I saying? - My spirit. We should be here. - We can't get off. - It's a secret thing to say. - I only want to shoot. - My wedding. Like, my... I can barely contain my excitement. - I can barely contain my excitement. - I can barely contain my excitement. - I can barely contain my excitement. - No, no, no, no. - Help me where I can... - Beautiful. - I have no doubt it will be an extraordinary performance. - Yes. - Did you like the song, babe? - Okay. She did not notice your meeting off that shoot. - Very good. - Thank you. - Yay! - It was tucked in his sleeves. - Yeah. - He was like, you know. - Actually, since this has been a low die roll session, I'm going to spend one of my own fate shifts to reroll that. Let's see if I can get her to notice it or not. - Why is he talking pleasantly about that? That's rude. - Oh, man. Even less. - Ha ha. - That's right. - I touched with it. I wrote it, like, on his shirt. It was just... It was embroidered. - Yeah. - No, he's got a fake pass on. He pulls it out and it'll strip the paper. - Okay. - Under the pass. - It is napkin on this one. - This is napkin. It's embroidered. - It's embroidered. - So yeah, so she... - Good. - Smile. - I'll walk her down to the stage. - Well, no, no. She needs to get ready. - Oh, I have to leave. - I'm just going to change and powder her face a little. - In a little. - You're going to, like, bow kiss her hand and then get the hell out. - And get the hell out. - Yeah. - Fine. - Take your seat off. - Oh. - And kiss. - You see the mayor appear. - Okay, thank God. - Presently. - So I tell him what happened. These people are being... - Well, I'm not surprised. - All up it, you've got the election. - Their blood is up now. - They'd be quiet. See better, say some things to make them laugh and make them forget about the election. - Get up there and warm up the crowd. - Yeah. - Shit. - Don't we have any kind of clowns or any kind of additional today? - I'm pretty sure that's Joseph Watson. - I'm sure that's Joseph Watson. - Where's Joseph? - He's a candidate. - Where is he? - No, you need to distract them from the election. So just... You know, just say something. - I'm not having the mayor though, isn't that kind of kind of remind me of the mayor? - No, he's the mayor. - I'm not going to entertain people or the mayor. - Yeah, just say hi. - No, I think you should. I think you need to say something. - Just, you know, come on. - Introduce her. You're just a... - Just, you know, assure them, you know, that the problems will be in shortly. - Yeah. - You know, just so you're wearing them. - Don't say I have some kind of an usher. What's Mr. Moss doing? - Oh, well, they don't even have to be wearing the bar. - Why don't you play your own characters? I got a crazy idea. - Whoa! - Whoa! - This is what it's like to be the authority figure. Everyone wants to whisper in your ear. - Yeah! - Okay. - I just tell you what happened to the back off. - Okay, there. - There it is. - What do you got? - What do you got? - It's quiet. She's calmed him down. - She's done a good job. - Well, there's a general rabble. - Oh, but they're fine. But they're not going to heat it there. - No, no, no. - So I get in and sit down. - Okay. - All right, I'm going to go back to the back of the, you know, the front of the... - Yeah. - And I honestly would have just come up inside. Did it go well? - Yeah. - I know right. - Right. - Wake, wake. - I think I got a little in there. I think I got a chance. - Keep it cool, man. - All right. I can't. I can't do it. - I can't do it. - I can't pull it off. - Okay. - I can't pull it off. - Okay. - She might not do the real use eventually. - And then run screaming. - No, I'll find out the real her. - Exactly. - That's the problem. - That is the problem. All right. So I'm observing the crowd. - Okay. - I see them talking and I'm like, I know what they're talking about. So I'm observing the crowd. - All right. So a few minutes pass. And, you know, there's this general. And then a jaunty piano tune starts off. And the curtains, you know, slide back. And Dora Bowman comes out on stage and, you know, this very elaborate dress, right? And begins to do this sort of song and dance routine. You know, very lively, you know, swishing your skirts around. - Mm-hmm. - You know. So. - Just thinking about Madeline Con. - Oh, yeah. He doesn't get into that category. He's not in a corset. - Okay. - But, yeah, she's definitely, definitely getting her job worked out. So, you know, and then she falls that up with a ballad, you know. - Okay. - How many songs does she do? - You see a few people drying their eyes and that sort of thing, you know. And then she does a recitation of Tennyson, you know. And then does another, you know, upbeat song and dance routine, you know. So, it goes on for about 45 minutes. - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's quite true. - Yeah. - Yeah. And then the crowd's just getting, like, increasingly sort of worked up. - Sure. - Yeah. - A lot of hooten and hauling. - Mm-hmm. - Stamping feet. - Mm-hmm. - That sort of thing. - Oh, yeah. - Yeah. Let's see. - Let's see. - The first time. - Nope. - Oh, let's see. Who's gotten noticed? - I do. - I don't. - I do. - So, if you have it, you can roll it. - Like, is that no? That one? - Just zero. - Nope. - Add a five. - Nope. - Add a five. - Mm-hmm. - Let's go with the five. - Oh, no. The zero is a ten. - That's a ten. - That's a ten. - Oh, that was the wrong one. - Oh, that was a long one. - Okay. - Yeah. - Where's my... - Which one do you need to roll? - I'm like going to my D. Oh, there's my... Okay, I just grabbed the wrong one. - Okay, that's five. - Five. - Five and five. - All right, good. - Nothing. - One and two. - Okay. - So... - Oh, he's watching this one. - Yeah. - I can't take my eyes off the songbird. - That's true. - Yeah. - My heart's getting loose. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, Doc, you kind of watching the crowd, too. But it's not so much there. The attitude of the crowd in general. But you just kind of noticed that what with all the political talker in there. That, um, uh, Shek Kurtz is not in attendance tonight. - Hmm. - Now, you could have sworn your songbird later, though. Can you see? - Oh, shek. - Okay, so you notice this? Do you tell me this? - Oh, yeah. I'm going to settle over to Kongi and just... Why not? Have you seen our good friend, Mr. Shek? - No, but, um, if you'll go out and look for him, he's probably out in town doing something. - Oh, good Lord. (laughter) - I'm a deputizer right now. - Doc's good. (laughter) - You can do it. I wouldn't ask anybody else to do it. - All right, just go look for him and I'll keep my eye on the crowd. - So, I'm going to go stroll outside. - Mm-hmm. - Don't take the gander. We're going to go looking, man. - Well, it is a night time. The moon is not yet out, so it's fairly dark. And most of the town is turned out for the show. And so the streets are both inky black and eerily quiet. - Hmm. - Don't worry about it, do you want to look? - Oh, man. - Mm-hmm. - Well, um, I mean, either by zone, perhaps in shipping industry or... - Head up towards this place. - Mm-hmm. - Yeah, I'm not going to bring my horse. - Mm-hmm. - I'm going to bring a lantern. - Mm-hmm. - I'll just grab one from the jailhouse. - Mm-hmm. - Yeah. - Okay, yeah. - You're right across the street. - Yeah. - So, give me another noticeable. - One, five, and a two. - So five. - Okay. - So, as you're approaching the jailhouse, you can hear the distant sound of the waves. Down below the cliffs. But you hear a sound closer. Closer still. The sound of... - Mm-hmm. - Well, it sounds like somebody getting beaten up. - Uh-oh. - Fists on flesh. - Mm-hmm. - Oh, my gosh. - All right, can I tell where it's coming from? - From somewhere off in the distance there, like beyond the jailhouse. Somewhere between the jailhouse and the cliffs. - Okay. - Did I notice if it sounded like a lot of people or just a couple? - Just like, you know, maybe two people having a fistfight. - Okay, I'm going to go check it out then. I'll pull my pistol and walk over with my lantern. - Yeah. - All right. - So, you go around the side of the jailhouse and off to your right is the orb left. - Well, I have to say, I do have stealth, so I'm going to be smilting. - That's true. - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Still should you roll for that? - Off to the right is the orb processing station. You can hear that for the clanking away. - Mm-hmm. - So, let's have you make a stealth roll. If you want to have your lantern out still, it would be a minus two yourself. - Mm-hmm. Okay. I think as we get closer, I'm going to put my, well, no, because I want to see who it is. - Yeah, no. - I mean, I guess my minus two my stealth. - Mm-hmm. - Which is a... - You've got a blue chip too. - You've got a blue chip too. - You do. - I do. - That's true. - And we're cruising in here. - Three, a five. - What? - It's on a blue chip to my five. - Okay. - Mm-hmm. - Thank you. - A five and a six. - Whoo! - Nice. - Yeah, it's rolling in. - A two, so that's 15. - Yeah. - Yeah. - All right, so I will pose that against our person's notice roll here. - Oh, that's a good move. - Okay. - I got a five on the high roll. I'm going to throw in a chip to mine. I'm going to add to that. Aha, six, so I need to roll four better on this to equal your 15. And I got another six. - Oh, my God. - Oh! - Oh! - All right. - Wow. - So, coming up behind what appears to be a man on the ground, pinned by another man who's, you know, in process of beating him savagely. The man has a, you know, bowler hat and a duster on, and his back is to you. But the lantern light tips him off when you're approaching. So he spins around and comes running straight at you. - Oh, I'm going to pistol and say a deputy freeze. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Mmm, let's see here. All right. - You already have my pistol out, so I'm just going to... - Ooh, you have your pistol out already? - I did. - She did it right when I heard it. - She did it right. - She did it. - All right. Well, then you actually have the drop on him. - Yes. - And there. Let's see here. That is going to give you a plus four, I believe. Let's see here. - That is awesome. - Yeah. - Yeah. Here we go. - Yes. - You have a plus four to your attack and damage rolls. Should you decide to strike? - Of course. - All right. So he's charging at you, even though you kill him. - Yes. - Oh my God. - Well, I'm going to shoot him then. - Oh. - Yeah. We have to. - I have to get a plus four. - Okay. So... - What are you using? - I'm going to use him a little bit. - I'm going to go for pistol. I don't want to kill him. - Mm-hmm. - All right. So that was a two. - Oh. - Mm-hmm. - I had a six. - Oh! - I had a six plus four. - What was that? - And then I get a plus four. - So 14. So you hit with a raise. - Oh no, that was my wild die. - Mm-hmm. - And this is mine. - Right. - Yeah. - So you hit with a raise. You hit a 14 total. - Oh, that's it. - And then your damage is going to get a plus four to it as well. - Just a plus four. - Mm-hmm. - Flat out plus four. - Oh, flat plus five. - But you've got the raise. So you're going to add an additional D six. - Okay. So that one is a two D six. - So three D six plus four. - Two. Six. Six. - Oh my gosh. - So 14 plus 14. - So 14. - And then those eight. - Yep, you got to roll me in. Four. - Dix! - Holy shit! - Okay, so keep rolling. Keep rolling. I need to not have much to roll in. - And the four. - Okay. - So it was three sixes, two fours. - Uh-huh. - And plus four. - Four. - Four. - So it was 12 plus 12 is 12. - Okay. - So it was 12 plus 12. - Okay. - So it was 12 plus 12. - Okay. 12 was 24. I shot him in the face. Wow. Wow. You are a deputy. I deputy that is G. So, that was some, those are some hot rolls. Okay. So what was the total here? Like 24, 24. Yeah. So, here we go. Toughness is six. So raise a 10, 14, 18, and 22 would kill him. Okay. However, he's a wild card. So he has his own fate chips. So I'm going to spend the fate chip to do a silk roll. Okay. Okay. This gives him a big roll. And this is something you guys can do too. So just keep this in mind. You can spend the fate chip, give yourself a silk roll, which is a bigger roll. Okay. This is bigger. And so for every, for every success and raise, I eliminate a wound. Okay. So basically I need to get, I need to basically roll as well as you did or close to it. Enough to negate it to not bet. Exactly. I need to get at least a success here. Well, technically, I actually sold the shotgun. Exactly. Wow. Okay. So I rolled a one and a three. Okay. So, okay. So he's incapacitated. Okay. So, who is it? Well, I am a doctor. Oh my God. Where is, who is he? All right. Let me see where he's incapacitated here. Like shoot off a leg. Oh, shit. Yeah. It's going to be tough to put that back on. Yeah. It doesn't have to be great for cauterize. Yeah. If it doesn't have to run around it, you can't treat it. Two weeks in this town. That's all you don't want to do with this one. There are other, like, you know, of course, mechanical accidents. Yeah, sure. Which is what I'm used to. Now just a little hundred pages. Burns, burns, burns, burns. Okay. All right. So the other thing that happens when you hit incapacitated is that you make another bigger roll. The bigger roll for soaking requires a bait chip, but you make a bigger roll if you're incapacitated no matter what. That one I roll considerably better on. I got a success and a raise on that one. So he still has three wounds, but he's not incapacitated. He's only shaken. What? Okay. So this guy's running on adrenaline. Yes. He's on a PCP. Yeah. Are you on a PCP? So you have shot him in the right arm. That is a possibility. Oh, I'm sure you've shot him in the right arm. Okay. All right. So, so basically he's running at you. You see the glint of a knife in his hands. You just instinctively shoot him in the knife arm or in the knife hand. Yeah. And you see, like, you know, in the starlight, some, you know, a black cloud of blood, you know, vaporize you shoot him just like right through the order, you know, and he lets out a yell of pain and stops because he's shaken. Okay. All right. So what are you going to do? Shoot him in the kneecap. Yeah. I'm going to say again, I'm a deputy of perdition, like, stand down or I will fire again. Okay. Good. That's good. That's good. All right. I like it. Who is done on it? Can you recognize who he is? Who is he? Because of the dark quality of the night. I'll give you a notice roll, but it'd be a minus four. I'm going to be the lantern. But he's standing on a shot. Oh, he's trying. He's outside. All right. All right. All right. All right. I'm going to drop it. Do it for me. Okay. This is my eight. All right. Yeah. It's four. Oh, it's a four. Oh, and who his? All right. So does the person stop? No, he's going to try to shake off. Wow. The bigger role. What is his problem? Let's see. Nope. We're close to the wire here. Yeah. So he's not bagging them, but he didn't shake it off. Right. That's right. Maybe I'll just pistol whip him. Yeah. Come up to him. Come closer. Yeah. Did he drop the knife? He had to drop the knife. The knife. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Give me a fighting roll. I don't have one. Oh, four minus two, please. Minus two. Why is it two? She doesn't have it. Yes. And the one. Okay. But you got to say, and a three. Nice. Okay. So now I need to roll damage. I'll just say with that, with that excellent role, you successfully knocked him out. Right. You know, knock him down. And he rolls back over and you see that it is the face of Shek of Kurtz. Yeah. Who's the guy laying on the ground is getting the ship slowly getting up. And you see that he's just like this looks like a transient of some sort. Okay. You know, he's like, Oh, Mr. Thank you so much. Why was you? You're welcome. You know, I understand you're injured. I am a doctor and more than happy to take a look at you. But I asked that you do accompany me and this gentleman here into the jailhouse for some questioning. Oh, anything or anything? I was just taking some air and this mad man fell upon me. All right. Well, we'll get a proper, proper side of the story from you at the jailhouse. But wouldn't mind helping me drag this gentleman here. My arm over each shoulder, trying back. Meanwhile, back at the saloon. Do I hear any shots? Well, you can give me a heart of hearing a notice roll. Let's do not. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there's just all this hoot and holler and she's kind of hitting that final high note, you know, and the show comes to a rousing finale in the curtains zip shut. And, you know, everyone jumps up out of their seats and they're just, you know, applauding and, you know, stamping the floor and so forth. Okay. Yeah. Good. And so the past without instance. Right. Fortunately. Um, no change. I got keys to the jailhouse too. No, unfortunately. All right. No, but I'm going to check out. I'm just going to look outside and see what's going on. No, the show's over. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, you take a look outside and you see, yeah, you see talk and some, some transient. So I run toward them. Yeah. And like what happened? So we go into the jailhouse, open up the doors. All right. And so you throw a curtain into one of the cells. Definitely. Definitely. Walk him up and start taking the statement from the, I'll tie his arm at first, though, so he's not bleeding too much. Sure. Well, yeah, you can tend to him. And then I'm just listening to the story. All right. So, um, so yeah, the story is basically that the sky was taking the air, as he said, you can smell, you know, booze on his breath. And, uh, and this guy, uh, you know, came out of the darkness and started, uh, kind of hit him with the pommel this night and was just seeming like he wanted to beat him into unconsciousness. Okay. Do you say anything to you or? Not words. Not a word. Hmm. Have you ever seen this man before? Well, I'm just coming through town here. I, uh, came in a little earlier today. I don't know. Everyone's a stranger here to me. All right. Well, well, he don't mind that you can stay here if you like to or put you up somewhere else. That's fine. I think I'll be moving along. You don't mind. Is he telling the truth? You know, can I find out perception? Can I do a notice roll while she's questioning him? Sure. Yeah. Let's try this. There you are. No, that was me six. Wait, wait. No, that was me. I know. I was like, he's some time. Yeah. No, that's obviously my D six. Five. Five. Five. He seems, uh, he seems to be pretty convinced of his own version of story. Okay. All right. Well, keep, uh, most I'm just making sure I'm going to regret letting him go. Check in for questioning and don't let that guy go. Okay. I actually know I'm going to ask him to stay because I need him to tell. Sure. What's his name? So sir, I do have to put you under arrest. Um, for the evening. He said we're putting under protection. Yeah, essentially. But I need to make sure that you're here to vouch for what you experienced with this man. Well, if you think that's best, I do. Very well. All right. So I put him in a cell like the last, so I put them like way far away from me. So they're only 10 feet apart. Yes. Exactly. Um, okay. And so the next morning, the, uh, the front cover of the brand new town paper, the Perdition Harbinger. Oh, God. Blair's the headline that prominent citizen, um, and my arrow candidate. No, no, because sons of me are a candidate, uh, prominent citizen, Masha Kurtz has been arrested by, yeah, our new marshal, hmm, congee taken alive, uh, on, uh, charges of assaults and attempted murder. Mm hmm. So we'll leave it off there. Okay. With that. That's incredibly dramatic. With the, uh, theater's dedication and election still to come. Um, you can see my card, um, hardships, really. Yeah, really. I want to get the cards next again. Can I say then for an accession, yeah, went back and grabbed his knife that he dropped. Oh, certainly. Okay. Just for purposes of, uh, uh, evidence, evidence collection. Yeah, bitchets it off. And I was ready to use this one too. It was the shaking in their boots. I'm going to rip your head off and play it in a combat situation. Your character does, it says something so horrific and intimidating. It brings the area to stand still. All the characters friend or foe are shaken. I guess you couldn't use that. If there was like, um, the bar brawl. Or just with Kurt even, you know, he could, I mean, I'm just finding out what the system in general is like, like, this was the first session I actually remembered to use my own chips. Right. You know, I can use these, you know, like, oh, yeah, I can use these. So there are a lot of extra things. Yeah, I'm just getting used to all the little, uh, yeah. All right. Oh, did I take the world? I think I took them all back. I did a similar one.
