[music] The esoteric order of role players present Lost in the Maze, a deadlands reloaded campaign with David Larkins as the Martian. [music] Alright, so... I'm sorry. I'm tripping balls, aren't you? But I'm an adult. I'll be okay though. How many strips of beer have you? I have like two! You shut what glass and then refill it while I wasn't looking. No, trust me, I'll probably get more grounded if I drink this, to be quite honest. Here we go. I don't know. Alright, so it's period 20. I'll get two. What the? I didn't look after all that. Womp womp. Wherever you put in. I don't know where the spot is on that. There's no spot. That's very interesting. Great pace, parrotuffness, wounds, fatigue, worst nightmare, permanent wounds. Yeah. Actually, maybe we could put it under attributes. Right under the space layer where it's under attributes? Yeah. I don't know. That's just kind of an idea. Or not. Hmm? I mean... Can you get a plate with things? I did. I finished it, alright. Yeah, just... I still can't find the attributes. Where are you with the attributes? Oh! What are we going to do? It's like the numbers. It does, but... Okay. Sort of. But there's not really space there for you to write anything in. Yeah. For sure. On the badge, I think it's very good. Yeah, I'm about it. I just thought I just put a little XP and a 2. But that... Okay, so that right hand column there does tie in with the XP. So you see it's got these slots in the five increments of five, right? Right. So basically, every five experience points you get. You get to do something. Right. And it's sort of like when you're doing your character creation and you could choose, "I want to boost an add to that skill or I want to boost an attribute or I want to take an edge." Every five points, you can do that again. So you can take a new edge. It's fine. You can sort of the skill. You can buy a new skill. Nice. That sort of thing. Every five. So that's what that line is for. You just sort of jock down what you did at that increment. And... Gotcha. He cracked it. Yeah, that's how you got to look at the area. Exactly. Some of that. Anyway. So, Benny's, I mean, fake chips. Three. Two. Only chips. I think it was three. It was three. Okay. You're right. It was three. Thank you. I get two. Aw, dang. Oh, shit, have a look. Oops. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh. That's fine. Oh. You probably didn't even know this. Oh, yeah. All right, fun. Oh, you get a blue one at least. Yeah. I want each. Very patriotic. I'll see you in the last time. Uh-huh. See you in the right creepy-- Oh, that's what I got last time. So, um... Jade, since you did the interlude last time, you get to choose whether you want an extra fake chip or an extra adventure card. Mmm. Um... Let's do an extra adventure card. Okay. So, I'll just go ahead and deal two of these new. There you go. Oh. Oh, thank you. I get one. I'll see you in the next one. Yes. Okay. I don't understand my card. Uh-oh. I'm gonna look at it. You too. I do what David will look at. I don't pop off. The understanding. I know that offensive. The understanding. It makes me happy inside. It does too. But I know it annoys him. No, it doesn't. It's got to annoy him. So, you would play that on somebody else? Right. So, okay. So, the, the, uh... Okay. Yeah. That's what I thought. But then I didn't understand the last sentence of that. I was like, why would I... Mmm. If I played it on an NPC, that's a note for you to read. Exactly. Okay. Um... Yeah. You don't like them pop off? You don't draw on it. She's doing a lot of most things. It really takes a lot to bother David. It really does. It really does. Yeah, it does. It does. Because I bug him constantly and he's still pretty good. And I'm pretty annoying. That's true. All right. So... I don't know. We talk about that. Really? That's true. I'm annoying. Wait, that or him being unflappable? Well, I'll argue both points. Okay. Give me enough time. You know, all the time in the world... I'm going to present my argument from both sides. I have checks. Oh, no. Are you moving with myself? Well, let me cut up more bread because that bread's damn good. Is it? Awesome. What happened to the finish deck? Oh, that's the freezer for another week. Oh, okay. So, you can... I thank you not to... You can call attention to that. Oh, excuse me. Good job. All right. Mm-hmm. I think you could be worked too hard on the treats. You know what? I think that if you were an employee... Oh! Yeah, don't worry. Her product could be able to drop off dramatically. Yeah. No, no, no. It won't actually. Enjoy it? Well, we can't exactly take advantage. Now that I'm in my room, I'm in my room. I don't know. I'm just... It's the first day in my period. So, I've kind of a little like... Sure. Yeah. Oh, the world feels wrong. Yes. It's a lot. You have vertigo and you don't know why. Yeah. Dogs are really excited about you. Yeah. And you do know why. Yeah. No, it's just the whole other thing. Um, yeah. Some kind of like... Huh? I'm supposed to like, I don't really get to see people that way and stuff. Oh. So, I'm not really... So, whenever there's people coming up... Hello! We're in your home. Yeah. Oh, my God. Oh! I'm usually alone with a dog. Oh, sorry. So, excuse me. Wait. You're coming in crazy dog lady. What? You're coming in crazy dog lady. No, I'm just turning in my mom. But I have a job lined up. So, we'll see where that starts. Yeah. All right. All right. So... Yeah. So, it's been a few days since... Really? Yeah. Sort of like underground and like, just hanging out there with everybody? Yeah. I mean, the tunnel is being excavated. Wow. You're slowly inching along. Are we having to work on the tunnel? No. Because I was like... So, basically your time is your own. All right. Oh, I guess that would give any wounds a chance to heal. Yeah, because I have some. Mm-hmm. So, you can make a bigger role. Okay. Okay. Okay. There is 86. Oh, whatever it is. Oh, I'm sorry, D8. Ooh. That's your wildest. Ooh. Can we get wildest? Oh, yeah. What? Give them their wildest. Oh, they're right there. Well, sweetie. Oh, my. Be gracious, Jim. You didn't know where they are. You said you knew where they... I put them on the other side of the stream. Okay. As far as I know. Oh, three. Is your best role? Yeah. So, that's a fail, so you're not going to heal it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's a tough wound. The arrow wound. I know. That was pretty gnarly. Yeah. Anything else you guys want to do with your time while you're in the tunnel? Tunnel. Oh, that's something you only chance to get to heal? I probably want to check out the bugs. Oh, they were burned. They were burned. Oh, that's right. Yeah. What about the body of that guy who was burnt too, right? Yep. Mm-hmm. The egg vessel. Yes. Oh. Yeah. The egg curtain. Oh, yeah. That is so cool. It's a good thing I'm not a mad scientist, because then my curiosity would probably lead me to try and keep one of the eggs. Oh, dear. I'm not there. I'm not there. I'm just a simple pharmacist. You pull a Paul Reiser and aliens. Yeah, exactly. Hell yeah. That asshole. But I don't have a weird science, and so I feel like it's just not my, not my nature. Mm. It could have been. All that could have been. What is quite, what is quite a thing? Well, I'm a mechanical person, so I don't really care about the eggs. Oh, there you go. I'm already engineering. That's right. Mm. That's great. Are you working on graphs for your next invention credits? That could be. Although I think I'm mostly keeping an eye on whatever Doc Haggard he's doing, whatever Hellstrom's doing. Mm-hmm. Hellstrom. Oh, what about, who's the reporter, what's his name? Lacey O'Malley. Lacey O'Malley. Yeah, I'm Lacey. See the picture for that? No, I haven't seen the picture. I don't want to leave that. Get up. I'm going to leave that for you. Okay. You just enjoy that. It's just for you. Okay. Actually, really. Oh, well, look it up right now. It's just for Jett, really. Wasn't it? Well, yeah. Essentially. I've been busy buying cookbooks. I know you're, you're kind of, you're doing your thing, improving in the world. Look for you. I have to mend both things. Thank you. I could argue for both of them. I'm so scared of you. I know you're, I know you're constantly trying to better yourself. You're really, you're way better than me. I'm just playing Sims 3 and taking the doll out. Yeah. Just enjoying her. It's great. I'm enjoying her. Coyote crossed my path the other day when I was walking with the chihuahuas. Oh, look at this. And happy started barking. Mm-hmm. The coyote. I'm like, all right, it's the end of happy now. It's just, you know, what is this? This is going to end. The coyote actually ran away. I mean, I yelled at the coyote and it ran. They're amazing. Yeah. I haven't seen one yet. Well, I keep seeing ravens constantly. They're all over the place. Mm-hmm. I don't know. Are you seeing any animals? Oh. Not so much near my house. Mm-hmm. Not really. Mm-hmm. I know last year, though, especially at the summer before when there were all the fires, a lot of, um, even like bears and things came as far down. It was like Canyon Road. Mm-hmm. Which is just, um... Yeah. It's two of them to walk away, so... Here we go. Oh, yay! That's a wonderful one. Oh. Big, nice Docker fan. Yep. And, um, that one for health crew, too. Mm-hmm. Which is funny that we settled on, um, him. What, really? Because, uh... To loss and speech. Yeah, I know. That was, like, wait a minute. Just put it in a way. It's an interesting parallel. I totally like the character, though. Mm-hmm. I really like the actor, I suppose. Um... He's got a game of thrones, too. He's all of them. Gary Oldman? Oh, I guess... Um... It looks like... I know you're talking about him. He looks like Gary Oldman. Yeah, he looks like Gary Oldman. He would be a good one, too. It's interesting. I... It's more beer less talking. Okay. No, it's okay. We're all gonna ramble at some point. It's funny that we settled on Gary Oldman since I... Kind of missed the Dr. Halston's actually British, so... Oh, he is? Yes. Oh, snap. Yeah. So he gets the plays to use his actor in one of these. He gets to use his own accent, yeah. Good. Cool. Okay. That's for me. He has a press name. All right, so... It's not a very bottom, I mean. No. All right. Anything else you guys have to do? Um... Oh, you're keeping an eye on Dr. Halston. I'm keeping an eye on the doctors. The doctors. Yeah, well, Dr. Hagarty, of course, is the one manning the drill most of the time. Halston spends about half of his days in the caboose and the other time down at the work site supervising or conducting repairs. Okay, so nothing. Yeah. All right. Is that what you would figure? Okay. Cool. It's so fun to see you. Yeah, it's been nearly a week. Yeah. Since you've been in the dark underworld. Um, and you've gotten used to the sort of non-stop, you know, uh, leveled noise, you know, the grinding of the hell borer. As it eats its way through earth and rock. The sound of shovels and picks and shouting workmen and all that sort of stuff. Can I just say they take a few days? Um... Well, they didn't really give you a time estimate. They said they were closed. They said a few days, I remember that. Okay. Let's get them unnerved. Yeah. Yeah, maybe you're getting a little antsy. Um... I'm just cleaning my guns. Okay. So you're in the midst of your gun cleaning. Mm-hmm. When all of a sudden everything goes eerily quiet as the hell borer powers down. Oh. Mm-hmm. What time does it usually do that? It never does. It goes 24 hours a day. I'm going to go... Do I hear any shouting or...? Well, uh... There's a brief sort of vacuum of silence. And then there's the sound of whooping and hollering. Oh! I'm excited. Whooping and hollering. Okay, good. Not fear-struck. Not fear-struck whooping and hollering. Um, and you, uh, a few of the crew are running back shouting about hitting sunlight. Mm-hmm. Well, okay. Well, I'm excited. Yeah. I'm going to go try to get a glimpse. Mm-hmm. Go on. Yeah. Okay. All right. All right. So you gather your stuff together and, um, head up the, uh, the tunnel. And ahead, indeed, you see a man-sized hole spilling forth, uh, blinding piercing light. Yay! Ugh. Yeah. It hurts. Our matey. Uh, Helstrom's close behind you, kind of working his way up through the, the throng of, of cheering workmen, shaking their hands. You know, as he passes by, you hear him, as he shakes everyone's hands. You know, we did it. We did it. We did it. Yes. Didn't wait for me. And, uh, as he, as he kind of comes up next to the hell board, he turns around and, you know, Charlie Bill is there. Mm-hmm. The, uh, foreman. Right. Slaps him on the back and says, "Break out the champagne, Mr. Buckner." Oh, we have Bill Buckner. Charlie Bill Buckner. All right. Um, so the, uh, yeah, there's a, a round of cheers as, as, uh, bottles of champagne are produced. Anyone here in the 50 Nados and spirits? No. Mm-hmm. Um. Nope. Can we read the label? Is that? Mm-hmm. Yeah. You know, it's, um, local plug? Or is it pretty decent? Well, it's imported. It's French. Oh, good. That's great. That's why I asked. Yeah. Um, but yeah. Foam, foam flies everywhere as corks are popped and, uh, cups are filled. Um, and, uh, you know, a small crew of workmen has been sort of widening the whole, this whole time. Cool. So, uh, Helstrom sort of leads everyone up out into the, uh, surface. Hmm. So we see. Well, you emerge into a hot afternoon, your amidst, uh, arid foothills. Uh-huh. Um, there's a mountain range kind of stretching out behind you. Uh-huh. Um, and, uh, a bunch of the crew are kind of, you know, we made it to California. Wooo! You know. I thought we were. Uh-huh. They are dancing. They're doing a little dancing. In the boots as they do. Yep. Yep. Right. Right. These are arid footlands. We just made it, we just made it through the mountain. Exactly. We didn't, we didn't make it to the coast. No. You could, we could still be speaking of California? No. We were in California. Right? When we, when our train stops, where were we? No. No, you were crossing the Sierra Nevada. That's where we were in Nevada. Yeah. Basically. All right. So basically, we're through the mountain. You're through the mountains. I think to myself. Yes. That'll say much. At least we're through the mountain. Um. So yeah, you're all sort of blinking in the light. You know, breathing the fresh air. Yeah, that's nice. Mm-hmm. That's really nice. Um. Actually. At this point, the hole's been widened enough that a two man team is able to push a strange wheeled contraption out of the tunnel onto the flat. It's, it looks a bit like a metal wagon, but it's got a big steam boiler in the middle and a smokestack. Mm-hmm. And no horses on it. Mm-hmm. But they, they fire it up and start stoking the engines. Oh. As, as Helstrom says, find our crew, Mr. Shaw. Bring them to us. And so this fellow, you know, hops up into the seat alongside his partner and salutes Helstrom and, you know, starts like turning knobs and adjusting levers and so forth. Mm-hmm. And the thing's kind of hissing and then the pistons start pumping. And the thing just takes off under its own power, kind of trundling along at about 10 miles an hour. Wow. Wow. That's great. That's cool. Mm-hmm. Um. So they head out and are sort of sent on their way with a, with a, you know, cheer from the, the workman. Alright. The driver waves his hat. And so, Helstrom kind of ambles back towards you, sort of graining his, his glass. Mm-hmm. Oh. Um. And nods to you all. Congratulations, Mr. Helstrom. Dr. Helstrom. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I'm just, tip my hat. Mm-hmm. This is exciting. It is indeed. Um. Now we just need to, uh, find our eastbound crew. They've been laying track from Los Angels this whole time. Oh, wow. Where, where do you think we are right now? Well, it's hard to say. Um, we couldn't know exactly where we'd come out. Um, we had to diverge around pockets of bedrock and other impediments. Mm-hmm. Um, which determined our course to some degree. But I know our western team can't be more than a few miles away. Okay. A little ride as soon as Mr. Shah locates them. Alright. So we should finish our line and fight our way into Los Angels within days. Alright, fight. Yes, I said fight. What do you mean by that? Who are you fighting? Well, the ESAT ruler of the free and holy city of Los Angels has not agreed to our right of way. Mm-hmm. Oh boy. Oh. That's kind of a big problem there. What? That is a big problem. Well, I think if you'll, uh, come with me, you'll see that I have, uh, powerful inducements to change his mind. Oh, good word, personal. Let's go. Let's go. Okay. Alright. So he, uh, he asked for it to you back into the tunnel. Mm-hmm. Back towards, uh, his personal train. Mm-hmm. Nice look. So it's just an engine, a passenger car, and then his armored caboose. Alright. Um... I know. Right. It always takes you to the left too. And then it's like, "I'm gonna go for the train as a transformer." Yeah. I thought he was gonna imprison us in his cabin. And then that's on the train train to a large. Mm-hmm. Yeah. There's a game. So he's not saying anything, so... I would wait. I would wait. I would wait. I would wait. Before I laugh at myself. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I was just laughing at the word caboose. You too. That's not what it's about. No, you too. But I did honestly think he's going to imprison us. No, you're welcomed up onto the passenger car. He, of course, goes back into the caboose. And so there are, you know, the two sort of salad-based guards that he employs. Right. With their Gatling shotguns and Charlie Bill. Mm-hmm. And, yeah. So you're all aboard the train. And just sitting there as you listen to the engine, you know, power up from the steam, you know, escaping from the pistons. That's so cool. Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. That's awesome. This, uh, the passenger car is a bit like the car you were on before after the conductor lowered those armored shutters. Uh-huh. This has armored windows as well. Oh. That one had to look for. Yeah. This one's just like permanent. It's like permanently armored. Oh. Um. So you're all kind of taking your seats, you know, getting situated. Oh. Um, getting situated. Mm-hmm. Um. No. [laughs] And, uh, I don't know why it drops it like that. Yeah, it's weird. And then because it goes to sleep. I guess maybe. It shouldn't. Mm-hmm. Okay. So. And anyway, you're all taking your seats. And the train, the train kind of like jolts. Uh, rather violently, actually. Mm-hmm. And you kind of sense everything rising up. Uh-huh. And then moving forward. Uh-huh. And then coming back down again. Oh. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's like, as if it was on a crane, but you didn't see any crane outside. It was just sort of. Does it feel like it was lifted? Well, you felt like you're being lifted in the air, yeah. Well, it's a hard train. Abert train. [laughs] All right. I want my upper train. [laughs] All right. So. And then, uh, maybe about 30 seconds later, it starts to lurch forward. And you can hear the wheels kind of churning on the ground beneath. It's off the rails. Does it sound like it would feel like it's walking? No. Like an animal? No, but it's moving forward. Like, can it shrink? Yeah. Yeah. I know. It's probably like. [laughs] Okay. No, it's just moving forward very slowly. What's moving it? It just, uh, seems to have, you know, ground wheels as well as track wheels. Like a, like something, yeah. Mm-hmm. I don't know about it. [laughs] That's something you don't know about. So you make your way along the train, just kind of, you know, jolting and bumping over this, uh, the desert flats, basically. Mm-hmm. So we emerge. We emerge. We emerge from the tunnel, out of the flats. All right. But we can't see anything outside because the windows are armored, right? There's slits. Oh, okay. Okay. So, so the sunlight's kind of coming in, you know. Mm-hmm. Yes. Yes. The boat's floating in the air. It's kind of, you know, a little uncomfortably hot. Nice. [laughs] And, um, let's see here. You, uh, you travel in that, uh, mode for about 30 minutes. Mm-hmm. Um, when, uh, Charlie Bill informs you, they read, uh, weather balloon has been spotted in the distance, which marks the rail head. Oh, oh boy. Cool. Oh, so we're, like, making our way. Mm-hmm. And, uh, shortly after that, um, the good intentions, which is the name of Helstrom's train, uh, is greeted by hundreds of trains. Oh, my God, really? [laughs] It's greeted by hundreds of cheering rail workers. Mm. Yay. Mid-level executives and guards. Mm-hmm. Um, so, debarking, then? Mm-hmm. Ta-da-da! Mm-hmm. Those people. It's a, it's just a little three car train surrounded by a sea of cheering workers. Mm-hmm. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] Um, you see, you know, yeah, you see these guys in their, in their vests and jackets, you know, in their watch fobs. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And you even see some, some more of these, uh, steam-powered automatons with their claw hand, the yelling arm, even kind of ambling over to see what all the promotion's about. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And, uh, and then you see Helstrom, uh, emerging from an elevated cupola on top of the caboose with a megaphone in hand. Uh-huh. That one. Cardboard megaphone. [laughs] So he, uh, you know, shouts into it. Hello, my loyal friends. We've done it. We're a few miles in a right of way short of completing the first Transcontinental Railroad. That's all. Yeah. Yeah. You have been part of this effort, the part of our company. Now you're a part of history. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. There are better few miles left to travel, but they are perhaps the hardest miles yet. Connect this line to our tunnel to the east and I will continue on to Lost Angels in our inevitable showdown with the right Reverend Grimm and his fanatics. Oh, boy. Mr. Buckner, please extend everyone here an additional month's pay for their amazing achievements. Oh, boy. Yeah. And open a few cases of champagne while you're at it. So yeah, things just nuts. Splosges. Yeah. People go crazy. Yeah. He doesn't love champagne and heavy machinery. Exactly. It's a great combination. Yeah. Now get back to work. [laughs] Yeah. All right. [laughs] So, uh, you are, again, welcome to continue on with Helstrom. Reverend Grimm tells fascinating. Mm-hmm. I'd like to pursue this. You don't give me common knowledge rolls. See what you know then. That's just a smart swivel. Mm-hmm. You have an eight. Ooh. And your roll. Oh. I have a seven. So 15 on that common knowledge. I got a six on my wild. All right. So are you rolling that to it? Eight. Wow. Awesome. Five. Okay. All right. As a chia grim was a pastor before the great quake of '68. Mm-hmm. And one of the survivors of the quake. And he led a, a faithful following to, uh, found the city of Los Angeles. Okay. Um, can be, right? Yeah. Yeah. Alan. Yeah. Doc Funk. Doc Funk. Toby. Yes. Oh, yes. That's right. Toby. Um. This is going to leave us Calvin. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Cal. He can change his name anytime. I know. He's nobody else. Somebody knew. Uh, so kangy and Doc Funk. Um. That's just not that. That's just not a good one. Doc Funk, go on. You both know that, um, uh, basically, uh, Reverend Grimm, uh, just a couple of years ago, declared Los Angeles a sovereign sort of city state. Oh, wow. Oh, great. And, uh, and is known for, um, feeding, uh, you know, anyone who comes to his services on Sundays, he, he lays out, you know, a great feast for anyone who comes to his services once a week. Uh-huh. Um, and Doc Funk, you have even heard rumors that he declared this, um, a sovereign nation based off of purported miracles that he has performed as his services, including banishing demons back to hell. Oh, it's just exciting. Mm-hmm. Did you hear that? Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Oh, no. I just stopped. I'm quiet. That is usual. I'm thinking about this. This is pretty, uh, anyway, I'm glad I cleaned my guns. We'll put it that way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My guns are ready to go. Yeah, definitely. Despite it being in a lot of pain. Wow. Mm-hmm. Okay. Do they have any medicine? No painkillers? No, I mean, they've treated you. It's just the wound, the wound basically represents that it's taking a while to heal. It hurts. You know. Okay. All right. All right. It's in an inconvenient spot. All right. So you're still trying to do this. Yeah. Yeah. It's okay. Mm-hmm. All right. All right. Let's see here. Mm-hmm. Whiskey. Mm-hmm. Last air need. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So, so are we traveling then in this great whacking machine? Basically, the good intentions makes its way up to the rail head. Mm-hmm. This time you're outside the train so you can actually see what happens. Oh, mm-hmm. These giant piston rams come down and just lift the thing up and then move it forward out onto the track. Okay. Okay. And so it recedes itself on the track. Mm-hmm. Okay. And you re-board and you're back on the way. So, could I take a moment now to talk to Mr. Health from the seas, how is it such an incredible mood of all investing in the pretend sky or system? Oh, I got it. Well, unfortunately, you're in the passenger car now in the caboose. Okay. All right. Thanks. Mm-hmm. He isn't a good mood, so yeah, keep an eye out for opportunities for sure. Well, he's in a good mood. Mm-hmm. Whenever he's in a good mood. Well, he's in a good mood, right? Right. Pretty much, perpetually at this point. Well, let's see. See what happens when he gets grim. Yeah. Mm-hmm. All right, so you're, you know, kind of leaning along on your way. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Let's see. Been on your way for maybe about an hour. Um, suddenly, as if out of nowhere, a massive explosion goes off to the immediate left of the train. Oh. It rocks the entire passenger car up onto its side before it comes back to the tracks and screech onto the tracks. Mary's. Yeah, exactly. You can, you can hear earth and stone showering down in the roof. Mm-hmm. And then the unmistakable sound of Gatling gun starting up. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah. All right. I'm going to get my, um, I have a shotgun. I have a Gatling rifle. I've got my Winchester. Excellent. An evolving shotgun. So I'm going to put mine gun into one of the slits to the left. Mm-hmm. Left? Yeah. Okay. How about you there? What? Yeah. What side left? You're all looking at the left. Well, where are the explosions? Yeah. You're not going to get that funk again. I'm going to get on the right, just in case you sneak up on us for a distraction. Very good. There's other people in the car with us, right? I mean, are the other ones in the car? Well, let's see here. Um, there was Charlie Bill. Yeah. Yeah. And then the two salad-faced gunslingers. Mm-hmm. All right. So what's, what, where are they going? They immediately start, um, racing back towards the caboops. Sure. Oh, so we'll just stop it. They're, they're going to their, to their, uh, master. Yeah. Their posts, basically. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You guys are kind of best off of Minecraft. All right. Um, okay. So the two of you see, um, let me, the train, uh, has stopped momentarily, but it's starting to power up again. But you can see a big smoking crater, maybe about five of the tracks. Wow. Um, and then Doc Funk, you see, looking at the, the right-hand side of the train, you see a, um, well, basically, you wouldn't know the term, but I'll just use the term so you can get a master picture. You see a gyrocopter. What? Ha ha ha ha. Wow. How is that? Almost said that, oh wow. What the hell is that? Ha ha ha ha. You see a gyrocopter kind of, you know, you know, uh, flying out, you know, and, and kind of circling back around, you can see piloting it because, you know, it's just open frame. Oh, oh no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's like a oriental woman, um, with, you know, your hair done, I've been a button and then, you know, like the kind of silk pajamas, right? We're using the term based on the time. Yes, exactly. Exactly. All right. Um, wow. Whoa. That's nuts. I'm in love. Yeah. No. Who isn't? What a badass. Damn. Seven. Yay. Nice. All right, you see that she has a, um, a little bundle dynamite. Oh no. She's, she's kind of steering the gyrocopter with her knees as she's trying to. I'm going to eat that. Oh no. Oh no. All right. So, uh, give me a shooting roll at a minus four. Um, it's zero. Right. Well done. I'm coming. Hold on. I have a, ooh, ooh, ooh. Oh. Oh my god. Well, I don't know if it would. It might. All right. But I can only use one. Yeah. I'll be able to, it's so cool. I don't, I don't live long enough to use it. Well. That's the question really. Let me see if it would apply to this situation. Uh, that would definitely apply. All right. Use it. Okay. Okay. It has read the other one. Yeah. Okay. Okay. It's shaken in their boots. Playing a combat situation. Your character does or says something so intensely horrific and intimidating. It brings the area to a standstill. Oh. All of it. All of the characters, Fred and Ortho are shaken. Oh. But after that, I don't really think this is his character. That would be something. That would be interesting. That would be interesting. Yeah. I don't think you'd be able to do something so horrific and intimidating, but it like stops everyone. Yeah. I want to shake your. No. I'm going to do, I'm going to do the other one. All right. So that, that comes up for me. That is feel it. It's like the gun to go over and aimed itself. Ooh. So it cancels off. Perfect. I'll cancel on the other side. Awesome. Excellent. You chose wisely. Okay. So, uh, so it's a shooting role plus your wild eye. So when I hear die out of four. Okay. And one. Okay. So, uh, four, um, since you don't have any penalties, that's actually going to be good enough. Sweet. Hey. Oh, awesome. Yeah. I want to say, uh, do I hear dock shooting? You're going to, yeah. Okay. So go ahead and roll damage. Which would be. Hmm. Which would be the easiest. I know. I know. I'm just like there. Did I make that? Six. Mmm. And a two. Mmm. It's not bad. And, uh, one thing I forgot last week and it didn't really matter since you guys managed to, you know, get through okay, but damage rolls can ace as well. So if you roll max on your damage, you can. I think we did that a couple of times, actually. We got through it. Okay. Oh, you mean rolling max? Yeah. You got through. Okay. But yeah, I mean, you can really. No, but I think I rolled a couple of maxes. Mmm. So yeah. I mean, that would have been, it would have been even more. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So eight, you say? Mmm hmm. Okay. So I hear, I hear dock shooting. Yes. What do we see on our side? What do you see? Mmm hmm. Nothing. Nothing. I'm sorry. I killed the damage. Mmm hmm. I want to help this way. Yeah. Exactly. We're jumping at the bitch. Yeah. We've got the wrong way now. [laughter] All right. Let's see here. There she is. [laughter] What are you going to need? Yeah. I need. Okay. All right. So basically you take your shot. You see a little puff of blood as well. It hits her right through the hand. Oh. And you see the dynamite fall away. Is it lit? It is actually. Oh! But she's about 80 yards from the train. Oh, okay. Yeah. And because she sort of briefly loses control of the out of dior. It sort of rocks violently and she asks sort of one-handedly, you know, regain control. And it just kind of like, you know, off towards the hills. As the dynamite blows up, it's the blossom of fire. Wow. As the explosion clears and the train begins to pick up speed. You can see one of those steam cars kind of coming up out of a low gully area. As do the two of you on your side. Hmm? How many steam cars are there? One on each side. Wow. Okay. All right. Okay. We're going to open fire. All right. So let's deal out the initiative cards here. That was pretty awesome. Thank you. Right in the hand. Yeah. Actually, I'm going to get a shit for that. It was pretty good. Sweet. Thank you. Yeah. That was epic. I've got four. There you go. And I'll do one card for the left hand car and one card for the right hand car. Oh, what side are you on? Left or right? Left. Okay. I'm on right. One's at the left and one's at the right facing us on the left. Right. So what card do you want to take? Oh. No, no, no. One's on the right hand car. Oh, they're coming at... Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh, I didn't know that. Oh. Okay. Cool. On the left. Okay. You better tell us if you need any help. I'll shout. Okay. David Colby, where the hell is that ever gone? All right. I have a nine. All right. Yeah. Two four. Two fours here. Two fours? All right. So I've got an ace and a ten. Wow. Oh. That's rude. So there was a brief pause as the flying machine was driven off. There was a brief pause of the Gatling fire from the rooftop of the booth. But now it starts up again. Okay. And you can see like little plumes of dirt, you know, arcing up around the steam cars. The one on the right -- one of you guys are fixing it -- is a little closer to the left. No, the left. Oh, I'm sorry. The one on the left is a little closer. And so it begins to kind of come up drawing a little more level with the passenger car. You can see that it is loaded with, let's see, about a half dozen Asian fellows. Whoa. Most of them are just wielding a little thick bladed like machete-type swords. Oh, okay. But one of them is manning a Gatling gun on a cupola. They've also got a fellow with them who towers above them and is ridiculously muscled, like almost comically, like mussels on top of mussels. And his skin is sort of pasty white, and then he's got like sort of flaming blue hair. Blue. Yes. You can give me a notice roll. I didn't see that. Notice. Notice. I don't have a notice. Anything. I can do this. I'm going to let you know. Well, I'm going to save your skills. Right. Yes. Notice all my skills. I've got a five. I'm going to do that. Oh, but you're on the other side. So everyone. So guys. Nope. Not a rule of five for my smarts. Oh, okay. But you don't have a notice. One minus two is three. So I rolled a three. All right. There you go. So yeah. He's just a huge hulking. Yeah. Like, yeah. You know. Great. All right. Moving on. Well, that's a good usual. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Just a big muscle down below your guys. But for Doc Punk's notice roll there, I'll say, you can see the car is coming up. You can see sort of similar thing, you know, half dozen guys. Another blue hair muscle. No muscle man. But this one, in addition to the Gatling gun, there's also a guy manning a sort of long metal tube. That's got a little blue flame. Oh, this is bad. Does this go stroke? Does Ghost Rock have blue flame? No. That has green flame. Well, that's good. At least this is just a giant flamethrower. Exactly. Oh. That is awesome. That is awful. Oh, this is cool. All right. So let's see here. At least from setting was prepared for an eventuality such as this. Yes. What's his plan? Yeah. Well, he's in his caboose. Yeah. Isn't he nice? Yeah. He's in his anus. Screw you guys. I'm going. We got you. Let's hit the back. Hook the back. That is it. So we're going to start opening fire on these guys. All right. So yeah, basically on their action, they are drawing level with the train. Okay. So now you guys can all act. Okay. All right. So these might revolve me. Whatever. Shotgun. Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. I think you're up first. I think the dog's being weird. That's all. Pretty change. Oh. Oh my God. Isn't she? You're all right. So this thing? Okay. You're right. She said I like you with your faces. Oh my God. I like this. She does. This is being normal. You're ridiculous. You're okay. You look tiny. You're okay. Yeah. You're okay. Yeah. Yeah. Come say hello. I'm getting a little nervous about your emotional state. Okay. Okay. So shooting. Oh. You can open fire. Yeah. Uh, D10. Okay. So D10 plus no wild. Wow. Wildcat. Wildcat. Yeah. I rolled a 10. All right. Wow. Sweet. And a six. Sixteen. Uh, what are we shooting at on this day? Uh, blue haired freak. Oh, right then. So... The blue haired hoon. The blue haired hoon. He's an easy target, obviously. Obviously. Obviously. What the fuck is that? Yeah. That's true actually. I think you might actually have a bonus. Yeah. So you, uh... I get a plus two to shooting actually. So technically it's 18. Wow. It's 18. Uh, 21 actually because you get a plus three to hit him. 21. Yeah. All right. All right. All right. I thought... I thought from across the train. Uh, all right. So go ahead and roll your damage plus a D six. Whoa. So, wait. What is it? One dash. I forgot about this. What are you shooting? Uh, my revolving shotgun. Okay. So it's one, two, three D six depending on your range band. Oh. Okay. So what range am I at? Well, they're right up alongside the train. So three. So four D six. Four D six. Ha ha. And you need one of those grenades. No. Oh no. No. No, that didn't. Six. Uh, plus seven is 13. 13. All right. Dang it. Oh well. Such is life. Such is life. Nevertheless. Yeah. He'll be right next to him with a revolving shotgun. Yeah. So he sort of, uh, wielding this. 21. He's wielding this massive iron, like a Chinese pole armed. You know, like the rings on your plate. Yeah. And, uh, and it's sort of, uh, a bellowing, you know, uh, anxiously wanting to, uh, get on board with this train. He wants to get on the train so bad. Oh, actually, um, I'm going to have to back it up a little bit there. Go ahead and give me a guts check. Guts check. Mm hmm. Really? I'll let your, I'll let your shot stand. Please do. Where's the guts? I have guts. You have the, oh, it's up. Okay. So it is your gut plus your, uh, and then your grit is a bonus. Five plus one is six. Oh, okay. So you pass this. Okay. Okay. Let's take a couple more. Uh, but, uh, waddling the guts check. Blue-haired goon. Since you're seeing this guy. Oh, I don't have guts. So I have to use my wild card and my. Guts is. Bigger. What's guts? Guts is, um. Spirit. Spirit. What's your spirit? Six. You have? Okay. So it's D six minus two. Okay. Even to the wild. Mm-hmm. She's very quiet. Nope. Two. Okay. Now, what was that, um, hindrance you took? Oh, what? Who are you speaking of? Quad. Douting Thomas. Yeah. Uh, wanted. You can't believe what you're saying. I've done the Douting Thomas. Douting Thomas is, I deny all, all, everything I see that might look to be, uh, super natural, like, uh, like a blue-haired goon. Like, well, but I, like a ghost, I would think. Yeah. Blue-haired goon is a blue-haired goon. It's not. Yeah. Okay. You know, it's not like it's a floating head or something. Right. Okay. So you can act like that. Okay. It's easy to rationalize the guy. No, the less. It's some sort of ancient. It's pretty, uh, yeah, it's pretty freaky. Never the less. Sure. Sure. It's freaky. There's no doubt about that. Yeah. That's one freaky fella. You can get a load of him. Look, so out of that fella. I'm going to suggest it's about my shot, really. Yeah. Yeah. Um. Okay. So. Hold on. Let's just, let's just tap it. So I do. Papa does. Mm-hmm. Okay. All right. All right. We'll come back to that. Oh. All right. So now we can just, we can salt water taffy. Stretch it out. Stretch it out. Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay. So, um, you pull the trigger on your shotgun, uh, the, the thing's only about, uh, 10 feet away. Yes. Um, the round hits, um, right on one of its overmuscle pectoral. It. Ew. Now E. It. All right. We don't know. Uh, overmuscle pectoral's. Mm-hmm. And, uh, he tumbles out of the steam wagon. Oh. And, you know, hits the ground at a huge, you know, bald dust. It's on the way. Oh. Oh. That's gotta hurt. Yeah. That's not really satisfactory. And, and the, and the train just keeps going, so you don't really. I'm going to get you to move his arm off, Anne. That's what I'm talking. I want to know that he's like actually really main. I'm telling you. This guy's going to run back. Even with that damage roll, that's about as good. That's what you did. Oh. I mean, that. I took him out of the equation, basically. Basically, I'll put it this way. A 13 damage would be enough to, you know, instantly, morally lose. Okay. Your average. That's what I would assume. This guy was just merely knocked out of the steam wagon. All right. So, I know he's not at the equations, but I'm hearing. I'm just imagining him running and he can be really fast. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah. That's what I'm picturing. No. Keep going. That's what we're all picturing. We're all picturing them. And it's another giant over muscle piece. Yeah, you do. That's good. Although, really heavily muscle people can't run very fast. Oh, but he's not maybe a person, is he? It's a thing. We don't know. Oh, God. It's a blue. He needs generally good. She's wondering. Okay. What do you guys? Oh, I don't know. It's fine. It's stronger. You want a strawberry, eh? I'm going to have to be deserved one. Okay. So, let's see. Let's see. Who's up next on the, on the order? Oh, you're here. All right. All right. All right. So, firing away. Yeah. All right. On your side. Who are you aiming at? I'm aiming at the closest, uh, machete-wielding, uh, fellow Asian fellow. Mm-hmm. And, uh, duck. I'm going to have a classic Will Smith O'Hellnot moment. Hey! Is there a card for that? There's just me. That's a little. Well, hell no. Oh, hell no. I'm going to aim for the flamethrower, dude. Yes. Yes. Yeah. We're not even in the shape. Just that real Will Smith. Oh, hell no. No. That's coming. All right. I'm just finishing the wobble up last. Oh, hell no. Yeah. [laughter] All right. First shooting. Shooting rolls from both of you. Okay. All right. Ooh. It's too so I'd roll. What I roll? Three. One. Okay. All right. All right. Absolutely. Yay. Good use. One. Two. [laughter] And a two. Oh. Give him another one. I've got... Yeah. Come on now. I really want to get this guy. Yeah. No. I don't have an extra one. I still take a two. You're good. Go for it. That's what it's about. A five. Nice. And a one. A five. Well, the final hit. Mm-hmm. So regular damage there. A five. And a two. So a seven. Yep. Okay. Mm-hmm. All right. Let's see what's going to do for you. Probably pretty good. It's actually... I should have hoped so. Ten feet away. They hit this guy with the rifle. He's mostly okay. Mm-hmm. That would mean something different. I'm going to see if the dog wants to go outside. Oh. You want to go outside? All right. Yeah. So, uh... You want to go outside? All right. Yeah. So, uh... You want to go outside? All right. Yeah, so you hit this guy, put around through his shoulder. Nope. And he just kind of drops down into the steam car. You know, you don't really see. Mm-hmm. He just drops down amongst his fellows. Okay. So unskilled shooting. Unskilled shooting. That would be... That would be agility minus two. Oh, no, I'm sorry. It's not even agility. It's D four minus two. All right. And then wild dye minus two. All right. Here we go. Come on. Huh. Four. No. Four is long. D four minus two. Right. You aced it. So, we roll it down to it. Regardless. This one? Yeah. Mm-hmm. But not this one. No. So, you're at two right now. Come on. Three. Five. Nice. Nice. All right. I don't know if you hit something. Yeah. I got the Gatling rifle in Gameplay, so I don't have damage. Oh, sure. I mean to the... I don't have a second to do here. Cool. Awesome. Yeah. So, if it... Even if you aced it and there's still a minus to it, you still get to re-roll it. Oh, that's good. Yeah. Yeah. That's good to know. That's really good. Okay. Yeah, I know. So... It's actually way easier than I... I'm glad. It's really good. What's called strength, by the way? Uh... Six. All right. Okay. All right. You're just strong enough to be able to... No brain. Yeah. They've got a bit of kick. Yes. Um... Okay. So, damage is 2D8. Okay. 2D8. All right. All four. Four. Mm-hmm. One. Five. And a one, four. Yeah. Oh, you don't really want... All right. Yes, you do. There you go. Not for damage. Not for damage. Not for damage. Not for damage. Not for damage. Oh, you can ace damage. I'm sorry. Yeah. All right. All right. All right. So, uh... So, you know, you sort of stick this thing out this... Yeah. The slot here. Yeah. You're full of training. You know. Yeah. And, you know, it just sort of like skips along the... The... The... The slot. Yeah. Yeah. And the very last bullet just wings this guy and like kind of cuts his scalp open. He's like... Ah! Ah! You know, he like falls out of the steam wagon. Stop man's style, you know. Yeah. Well, home screen or whatever. Yeah. Yeah. I got to stay on the record. Yeah. I agree. Oh, my God. Okay. All righty. So. So, let's see here. All right. So, you knocked out the flamethrower guy. I did. Cool. I... And he, uh... He booted out the blue-haired gun. Blue-haired gun. He totally runs up on it. Billy, I swear to God, he's going to. We'll just find you later on. Yeah, exactly. Yep. Now, he can't know who was shooting at him from that point. He's a super human site. Right. When you're in a ten-dory restaurant in Los Angeles, just about to sit down. Thomas is going to come in through the door. Yeah. No! You got some hummus? Yeah. What do you want? That's what makes it best hummus. Ooh! All right. Well, that goes into business at this time. It's awesome. Oh, thank you, chicken. This is great chicken place. Yeah. It's like Greek. Oh, Lebanese. Lebanese. They have the best hummus, this roasted lemon chicken, and it's just unreal. Unreal. Unreal. All right. You know, actually, it's kind of funny, because even though you're in the middle of this rolling gun battle, you're kind of thinking about food. Yeah, I'm hungry. Yeah. It's sort of... Why am I thinking about food? I don't know. It's weird. It's like it's been a while, maybe, since you had anything meat. So... You just want to drop that and let me know that. Just going to drop that there. Just going to put that there, and you can do so much. I'm angry. Well, I have some trail rations on me, so... True. True. If I really want some jerky, y'all. Yeah, they are. Yeah. Well, while you're waiting for them to take their turn, just like when they roll in. I like that they get took a bite of jerky, put it on my jacket, right before I knock off that flaming blue hair. Nice. Yeah. It's your chalk. Yeah. All right. Is that true? Did I do that? Sure. You just said you did. Well, that's funny, sure. I'm so distracted, I totally forgot that I finally sleep. I eat this beef jerky. Exactly. Who ate my jerky? I forgot. Oh, me. Oh, me. That was the one you did. All right. Okay. What else is coming up? So, basically, it's their turn now. Yeah. So, they're going to... Let's see, they've got... Their flamethrower guys down. Their giant guy is down. Giant guy. So, I'm going to give them rolls to jump. Yeah, they have to... I thought they're going... Well, no. Don't you think they would be like, ooh. Are they really hell-bent on killing us? Apparently, they're hell-bent on killing you, because here they go. Okay. All right. You're like a dozen of them to jump on? Yeah. Um... Yeah. Twelve rolls. Here we go. You really don't laugh at the guys who, like, make it halfway and then split. Yeah, exactly. Well, basically, what happens is... Someone on the... Yeah. Just picture Warrior with the over cranked. Oh! And, you know, the... The steam car kind of up on the side of the ballast, you know, trying to inch up close enough to the train and, you know, these guys to deploy. He's looking for the right moment to jump. You know, and basically what happens on both sides of the train is four guys each attempt to make the leap and only two make it on each side. Okay. The other two fall beneath the track of the train. Wow. This is intense. This is really intense. Do you mind if I turn the lights off? I'll go for it. Okay. Oh, wow. So much less stressed out now. Good. Yeah. Turn the light back on. Oh! I was getting a little... Come down and push out and move into it. All right. Well, now if you got a guy, like, just, you know, sort of hanging on with one hand and he's going to try and slash through the switch at you. Whoo! So he's going to take a multi-action penalty to jump and then attack at the same time. Okay, better penalizing. So, yeah. That's too many moves. I'm penalizing, don't worry. Good. Hold on. So what's here about Perry? Which two? All right. Okay. I'm really fast though. Yeah. Oh, it counts for something. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah. Not in this case. Wow. Oh, no. So, um, so he hits you, but he doesn't get a raise. So that's good. Wow. Bastard. Yeah. Oh. Let's see here. But lose an eye if you wear an eye pouch. I'm going to hold. Yeah. That would be good, actually. Do you wear glasses? Uh-huh. Oh. I decided against that. Yeah. Okay. No, um. Yeah. No, I have protection. Oh, sure. They just be cosmetic. Yeah. Yeah. They're just, uh, what do they call those? Plain old lenses? Yeah. Uh-huh. They're just for show. Yeah. That way I can increase my rates. [laughter] Okay. And you're talking. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Okay. It's really crap. And it just kind of nicks your cheek. Oh, it's going to be lost with scarves. Yeah, exactly. But it does send you kind of reeling back from the window so you're shaking right now. Okay. Oh. But you didn't actually take a wound. Um, same thing on the other side. Uh, congee. There's, uh, one of them's going to try and flash out. Yeah, they're going to try and that's the operative word there. What's your parry? My parry is five. Oh. Wow. Uh-huh. All right. Well, yeah. So, uh, so a butterfly sort of kind of comes in. You know, you gotta lay real quick. Yeah. Okay. So, you're up. All right. I'm going to keep shooting. Can I shoot? You can shoot at them? Yeah. I'm shotgun. So, they're right there. So, shooting is D10. Yep, it is. Uh, this is the last round that they'll use your shotgun though. Okay. Six. Six for that. Oh, plus two plus eight. That's going to be eight. Uh, that's a hit. Okay. That's actually a hit with a raise. So, um, you get a plus three six. Yeah. So, four D six again. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Seven. Oh, so I... You did your math. Oh, you guys on that one? So, yep. So, let me move to... Okay. Seven. It's 13. Let's do 15. Okay. So, you, uh, you know, he... The butterfly sword kind of flashes in real quick. Mm-hmm. And he's rewarded for his effort by having his head separated from his shoulders by your shotgun. Wow! Woo-hoo! How many more guys are around... Mm-hmm. There's just going to be three. Two on, dockside, and one on your side. Okay. So, quad. Okay. So, doc, you can do a vigor roll to try to get out of the shaken status. Okay. Quad your freedact. Okay. I'm going to start shooting. Okay. So, just roll a D6. Right. It's a six. Okay. I got a four. Five. Five. No. I got a two. Okay. So, you're shaking. You can't act this turn. Okay. Oh, wait. What was the other guy? Four. Okay. Actually, I'm sorry. So, you lose your shaken status, but you still can't act. Okay. You know, you're getting it with that. Yeah. If I used it, then I would have been able to shake. Okay. Cool. Uh, and five. Okay. I'm going to do it on the wild. With the wild. That's a five. So, that's fine. That's a hit. Okay. Good. And then for the bearage is two to eight. Mm-hmm. Wow. Two to eight. Mm-hmm. That's just sinking in. That's all right. Two. Come on. And a two. Four. Four. Okay. Well, you haven't that much skill in it. It was like shooting so many photos. You tried to... Yeah. The foot comes off. No, yeah. Again, you kind of squeeze off a wild burst and just kind of nick the guys, you know. Uh... Mm-hmm. Well, no. You know, it's tunic. Oh. It's silk tunic. Mm-hmm. Okay. Uh, okay. So, top of the round? Yes. All right. So, the two that are on the oxide are now kind of like making their way down the sides of the train towards the... The doors. Okay. Mm-hmm. The one who is on your guys' side is still sort of lashing out. Okay. All right. So, uh, he's going to lash out at, uh, quad, actually. Oh. Okay. Why is that? Because he... He makes his favorite tunes. I know, right? It's like... Are you good to hear that? He starts... He starts personally with Mandarin. Yeah. Yeah. Stick some stones, brother. My brother's going to kill me. Yeah. Just leave this. Yeah. Yup. Do you know how hard it is to repair a tear in a silk tunic? All right. So, what is quad's parry? Two. Okay. So, that's a hit. Aw. And tuck this up. Five. Okay. So, seven damage. Mm-hmm. So, uh, you're going to be shaken. Mm-hmm. Okay. As he, uh, sort of, uh, cuts through, uh, one of your suspenders. He's in the car now? No, no. But his arm is... Oh, wow. Okay. You know. You need those suspenders. I know. You're going to see all of God gave me. This is a problem. Okay. If he hits the next one, you're screwed. Yeah. All right. Oh, I wish I was hard, you know. My sight was poor and not my hearing. Uh-huh. [Laughs] Oh. All right. [Laughs] Well, it makes me a lot, at least, you know. Quad's not as old as we think he is. Oh. No, he's seeing a shriveled old man. I'm whether beaten. No. I mean, it's whether beaten. Well, yes. I don't like wandering in the sun, but... Just a face. Yeah. Daggering dude. Do you remember? No. No. Well, if anything, it'd be more disturbing to see the weather beaten extremities, and then this, like, relatively young and healthy, uh, torso, you know. [Laughs] No. It's going to be so blindingly white. Yeah. Ahh! And fresh and unspoiled. It's like, it's like opening the cave again for the first time. I don't know. This is so blinding. Bean angels. Alright. [Laughs] It's like a baby fish. Yes. So translucent. [Laughs] I still have one to spend her. [Laughs] We're just preparing her. We're just preparing her for the forest. We're just preparing her for the forest. I told you guys this is the horror western. [Laughs] Alright. [Laughs] [Laughs] [Laughs] Okay. So you're up. Yeah. They're basically, uh, he's at close quarters now. So you can switch to your pistol. Yeah. I'm going to roll both. Okay. Oh, but do I have a hint? Well. My shoulder. Remember we were saying? Oh, yeah. I can't do quicker. It's exactly one from all your rolls up to this point. But that's fine. Because you were succeeding by more than one. Yeah, exactly. No, you were not going to roll. Please don't. Please don't. It's just a good point for the number. Wait, wait. Let's go back. [Laughs] I need to re-roll everything. Re-roll. Go back in the tunnel. The whole board has just shut down. No! All right. So basically I can use my, two of my pistols. Yes. But it's a minus one to my shooting. Uh, yes. You're going to use your shooting. Okay. And then it's his parry. What's his parry? All right. All right. All right. So shooting. Shooting. Minus one. Mm-hmm. Five. Okay. Four. Four. Okay. And then the other shot. Uh-huh. Oh, both five. Both five. Mm-hmm. All right. So you, uh, you know, you throw your, your shotgun to the side. Mm-hmm. One of the benches. Pull your guns. [Laughs] And he sort of deftly dodges out of the way of one of them. And then actually deflects the bullet with his butterfly. Wow! [Laughs] Damn ninjas. Not what I wanted to hear. Damn ninjas. Sit with dachshas. Yeah. Dachshas. Dachshas. Doc, no bad ninjas. Apparently. [Laughs] We're at a serial. All right. So you can get them off a lot of book learning. Yep. All right. Damn. All right. So I'm like, "Cool." Oh. Everybody's like, "I could go up like a Johnny Depp like silent. Oh." [Laughs] Oh, good. All right. Best of heat levels. So Doc, you've lost your shake in. Um, quad, you can make a bigger roll to see how your shaking says. Yeah, your suspenders are doing. Point! Okay. Five. Five is a success. Okay. Regular success. So you're going to lose your shaking next. Okay. You're spending this round, you know, trying to pull your suspender back and re-knog it. [Laughs] Sweet. Oh. [Laughs] So. All right. I can still aim at on my side of the car or they make their race to the doors. They're basically making their way down to the door. So yeah. But are they going at it or can I still? You could try and intercept them, basically. Hmm. Or you could shoot at the one that's in the car right now. You could turn around and shoot. No, no, there's not, not in the car. There's nobody in the car. It's just his arm. He's really close. Okay. Yeah. The one that I've tried at. Yeah. Exactly. He's the one that's burned back. Okay. Or you can. He just probably will stay rather intercept when the ones that's trying to get in. Okay. Sure. So let's just say for the sake of argument, uh, uh, front guy or back guy. Who are you going to? Wait, are we in the front of the back? Well, I mean, what is going to the front door and what's going to the back? Damn. Um, I'm going to say front door because back door is also with the caboose and there's a chance that someone might go over there. Good. Good. Smart. Smart. Smart thinking. Indeed. All right. All right. That's right. Okay. Don't say fuck. Duck. Duck. I know. That picture I found wasn't so awesome. I would have been tempted to use Will Smith for mobile. Yeah. That was a good one. He's the essence. I was really surprised I found that. Yeah. No. You'd be amazed how much she could. I had a hard time fighting. I was like, that's exactly what I wanted. I love when I happened still with this hat tip back. Mm-hmm. Indeed. Okay. So basically what you can do in this situation is that you can position yourself in a way. Be ready for the guy when he comes in through the door. That'll give you the drop, which means that it puts you on hold so that you can use your action at any time. So like... Yeah. So I want to aim so the second he flings that door open. Exactly. Right out the door. And then he'll get a plus four to hit and a plus four to damage. I say yes. That's great. Mm-hmm. Okay. All right. So I'll shut up and get in the front door. Okay. Mm-hmm. Quad you're fixing your suspenders. So. Top of the next round. Duck. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see. So yeah. First up is going to be the guys coming through the door. Wait. What am I doing? You already went. Nice shot. I'm going to shout out you too then. Yeah. Coming in the front of the back. Yeah, I know. All right. So yeah, you hear both the doors kind of getting, you know, banged. Mm-hmm. And then they both fly open. I'm going to immediately shoot at the guy at the front door. Okay. Plus four to hit. Wow. Why couldn't I prepare? What do you mean? Why couldn't I have to prepare? I didn't take until to shoot somebody. You have to like beat. Or the four. Okay. So four. Four plus four is eight. Mm-hmm. So that will be a hit with a raise. Okay. So you're going to roll your damage plus four plus a D six. Whoo. So damage is two D eight. Wow. So eight. Whoa. Oh my God. Oh my God. Four and then one. Okay. And four. Seventeen plus four is twenty one. Yeah. Oh yeah. Flies open. There's this guy standing there. Oh. So ready. Half a second. Whoa. You know. This flies back out of the car. Whoo. Whoo. Whoo. And then down between the engine and the car and these cars. Yeah. Meanwhile the back door flies open and there's a guy that comes in with this. Does he see this? Like, I mean, I thought I would be fucking. I'd be like, I have. See ya. Yeah, he's not shaking anything. Yeah. Exactly. No. No. No, they're determined. Yeah. Meanwhile, a guy hanging on the outside is going to take a shot at Congee. Wait. So I'm lost track. There are three guys. Yeah. Look, there are two from my side. And they're the ones coming in and then there's your guy. Okay. Now it makes sense. Yeah. He's swiping at Congee. He's swiping at me. Your parry was five. He got a six. So it's barely a hit, but it hit nonetheless. Oh. He got your fingernail. He turned it a little. Dang. What's your toughness? My toughness is six. Okay. Only four damage. Only four. Yeah. So basically, the sort of hits you, but, you know, doesn't cut through your vest. We should help them. You know. And it does not shake you. So you're fine. Okay. Can I shoot? Okay. So Congee Europe. Okay. What do you want to shoot at? Do you want to shoot the guy who's swiping at you or do you want to shoot the guy who just came in through the door? The guy just came in through the door. All right. So you're going to turn and shoot. Right. Uh-huh. Okay. Go for it. Shooting. Okay. Okay. So I can shoot two. Mm-hmm. All right. Seven. For one. Okay. And hello. Two. Many other minus one, so that one is six and one. All right. The six hits. Okay. So go ahead and put your damage. Okay. Oh. Four? Four damage. Ouch. Do you want to? Yeah. How it gives you a width around. Oh, you can't forget. I found out. I found out for damage. Yeah. So just one of my shots. Oh, maybe the red ship you can. So one of my shots. Okay. But what about one of my shots? Check on the red ship. Okay. So the shot has a one. Yeah. Come on. Yeah. You could use it to reroll a missed shot. Okay. Because I'm definitely doing that regardless. All right. Go ahead and do that one. Okay. Thank you. Eight. Eight to seven. Seven. Seven. So this is the normal hit actually. Thank you. Okay. And come on. Ten. Ten damage on the one. So ten on that one and then the other one was seven. Right. Or no. Four. I'm sorry. Four. Yeah. A bismal. That was horrible. My level. No, it is not. I'm there you. I mean, I got a fighter kind of character. So. No. Yeah. The red chip you can use as a white chip or you can also use it to add a D6 to a. To a roll. To a skill roll. Okay. But you can't use it. You can't add it to damage. Okay. So one was four and another one was seven. Okay. So the, you know, you turn around. Ten. Ten damage. Oh, sorry. Ten damage. So, so one of them just nicks them. But the other one hits them right between the eyes. Oh. Ball's down. So there's one left. There's one on the outside. Okay. All right. And so. Let's see here. Doc, you actually already. So quad, you're up. Okay. So it doesn't count from my last turn. It's count from this turn. Okay. So, yeah. There's the one fellow who's sticking his thing through the hole there. That's basically a shoot. That's a shoot. Yeah. Okay. Oh, I know. Oh, that's actually. Actually bad. Snake, guys. Fumble do. Unless you want to attention. Thank you, Jim. Do you want to, do you want to cash in something there? I think I must. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Exactly. I can't afford that. I already have an injury. All right. All right. Let me create five. Okay. All right. Thanks. It's not good enough to beat his parries. Okay. All right. But it prevented a disaster. Disaster. Yeah. That's good enough. That would have been horrible. Oh, my God. All right. So, so at this point, the steam wagon, which is kind of unparalleleding the training, one of them comes back up alongside the train and the fellow tries to leap back onto the steam wagon and fails. Oh. Oh. That's good. Yes. So it left two on each one, right? Basically, there's the driver and then there's the gunner of these wagons. Okay. So yeah, two on each one. The steam wagons and the gunners up on the caboose have been sort of dueling, you know, the exchanging shots. You hear the galling guns fire again and steam wagons just sort of peel away and head off, you know. No sign of the blue haired guy. No. Not yet. He knows like under a car. Has he called it on? Yep. Trap doors. Exactly. I know. Well, he did just shave off some of his chest hair. Exactly. That's all that happened, really. Actually. In fact, it was like a mole and he wanted it removed for a really long time and it got rid of it. All right. So. He was just hanging off the car, though. No, no. No, they're all gone. He tried to jump back onto the steam wagon. Oh. He's one. Oh. Splatter. Splatter. One of the other guys. One of the other guys who used steam car. No, no, no. They're all gone. They peeled away, so they're all done. So, I think we should check with the caboose and see how they're doing. D. If there's anybody left? Yeah. I mean, that's Hellstrom's car, right? Mm-hmm. Okay. So, I'm going to go walk toward the door that heads to the caboose. All right. So, it's still hanging open from the sweat seal who kicked his way in last night. Right. And, you know, there's no, like, nice covered passageway. No, no, no, no. I would expect that. And, in fact, you see the door of the caboose, you know, kind of beyond, you know. Uh-huh. Yeah, uh-huh. It's dancing. It's dancing. But the Gatling guns have eased off. And as you're looking out the door at the caboose, you see Charlie Bill coming down a ladder, an iron run ladder on the outside. Okay. So, he kind of like signals to you to give him space. Okay. Move out of the way. So, he just jumps, you know, into your car. Okay. He's all dusty and you know. Yeah. You know. Are you okay? Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for your help there. Driving off those agents of the Iron Dragon. What? Who are those? What are those? I'm not going to make competitors. Uh-huh. You don't call them the rail wars for nothing. Okay. Apparently not. She was. Hey, we're not-- Why can't we get off the train? Yeah. I don't like trains anymore. (laughter) Every time I go on a train it blows up or gets attacked by steam. Yeah, exactly. Gotcha. All right. So, uh, so these train wars, they're just like, they're coast to coast, right? Mostly out west. Because it's the race to be the first train comfortable. To hit. Yeah. So how did they know we were going to be here? Yeah, exactly. Well, everyone's got spies and everyone else's, uh, organization. So we figured someone must have been tipped off. Bill Pucker. Do we hit him? Oh, yes. All right. Oh. Yeah. Mmm. Mmm. Yeah. Okay. All right. So, um, but I don't think they'll be bothering us anymore. Why? Because you haven't told the other ones where you were at or-- I mumble under my breath. Right. So you just-- He doesn't really understand me. My, um-- Oh, yeah. What's your English? My English is really low. D4. Yeah. Yeah. So I'd probably say something happening. Do you even couple that in your native tongue? I may, yeah. Yeah. (laughter) Forget you're bilingual so you can insult people. In both languages. Yeah. Ooh. But also I'm an outsider so people don't really pay attention to me. I'm surprised you even answered my question. Yeah. Well, because you helped. Okay. So, um, so yeah. He, uh, he estimates you're just, um, maybe about another day outside of Los Angeles. Oh, God. This is like a real stranger, right? Yeah. I just feel like it. Yeah. I know. (laughter) One more day. All right. Let's see the conclusion of that chapter. So I'm going to go ahead and give you guys two more experience points at this time. Ooh. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh, no. Oh. But I still can't find them. There's no answer. Oh, I have a big one. Oh, sorry. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. I was just like, wait, like, I can't. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. You're stuck at two. There's plenty of. You can't change it then. Um, and then the Soviets. You can live with the consequences. No, you live with the consequences. (laughter) So I'm going to just take a short break. Oh. All right. Intermission. All right. Intermission. Wow. Yay. You got through that. It's alright. It's alright. No. This is fun. I like it. The combat is really like it is. It's not bad. It is combat. It's a dream that would be this much better. Me neither. Me neither. I know, but it's kind of painless. It's good. I'm just saying I wish I had taken a shooting. Well, you know, there has to... You know, require it. I've got to have two. Yeah. You're going to get better at it. That makes sense, though. It does. You know, that, like, you make sense. Yeah. I mean, like, you get shooting. The gentle, but conniving professor. Right. Engineer. That's pretty typical. Yeah. (laughter) Go up in their estimation. Mm-hmm. Usually combat can be just so labor. I like how fast this is. Oh, I know. Yeah. It can just be so... Just keep going. I'm right already. This is really actually quite good. I like that. Indeed. Yeah. I know. And the dice system is... Yeah. I'm getting it. It's interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I like being able to use the different... The chips are good. I like being able to use different dice for different things, too. Yeah. It's nice that... You can actually utilize them. It's kind of different. Every time you can't just count on it. Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Which is also fun, too. Mm-hmm. Well, yeah. It's pretty awesome last time. That's pretty much any credit thing, so I was thinking '86. Well, that was helpful. Oh, wait. I... You know, there has to be someone in the party that has, like, a really high credit. Yes. There really does. Yes. So, I think that's actually super, super good. 'Cause, I mean... Certainly we've got, like... Yeah. Oh, yeah. No. No, any Cthulhu, you've got to have some of the high credit rating, 'cause... It really helps you get places. Mm-hmm. Unless you're playing our latest one that went in the right... Oh, that was fun. So, you need that credit? So, you're going to turn all the assumptions? Really? Oh, say that. Mm-hmm. Really? You took... You took... You were talking about this? Yeah. Wow. They're going to create... I don't know what you know. Oh. Well, you should. 'Cause the moment you move here, you have to kind of forget everything. That's right. They're doing, like, a secret to Santa Fe, or New Mexico. Cthulhu Adventures. That's so cool. This will be edited out of the recording. Oh, no, it's fine. No, but they're doing it. They're going to write a couple adventures for the location. 'Cause copy-written. Yeah. Exactly. I have nailed it to myself in the large male envelope from work, so... Good. Look at you. Yeah. So, they're going to create, like, different adventures for, like, I don't know. Roswell, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, and... Oh, gosh. What was the other one? Roswell could be so... Las Cruises. Right. I'm thinking Roswell '40s. Roswell, now. No. Oh, Los Alamos '40s, Los Alamos, now. Oh, yeah. Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Santa Fe. Dark Wizards. Dark Wizards, 1948. Dark Wizards, 2000. Yeah. Interesting things. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. So, um... All right. So, they're... So, Bill... Charlie Bill's cool. Mm-hmm. He, um... Everybody's okay, and they're produced. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And... Sipping a shit. Oh, thank God. Yeah. He's probably just... Mm-hmm. Would you please... Keep it down. Yeah! I'm trying to think... Yes! Oh! I'm... I'm creating! All right. All right. All right. Sure will. All right. So, I'm gonna just clean my guns. Mm-hmm. Sure. Of course. I'll do that. Very cool. And, uh, I'm gonna curl up and try to sleep. Yeah. And you pass through the night, rattling along the track, through empty desert... Yeah. Skye. He did the stars. I'm getting a pound on the door of the caboose. Uh-oh! Really? Can I get here? Can I get here? You want to hear about this new adventure? I got... I got this... This fabulous new product. And anything from the other... It's basically like a ship's hatchet. You know? So, it's like solid metal. Ha! He's gotta be born in there. He doesn't want to hear about this. I agree. He wants to steal the idea. He has to steal the idea. I know. It's his loss. That'll steal the idea. You just being suspicious. I'm a lysha straight. I'm a lysha straight. Okay, so I'm going to say that. As I'm cleaning my gun, I don't look up. I'm like, "He's just going to steal your idea." And then I... I started to pass my gun. You're right. Ha! Ha! Thank you very much, Kanye. Thank you. Thank you again. I almost gave the whole empire away. You better fix that as a skinder. I got some shown skills if you need help. I need a needle. I need a needle. Mm-hmm. All right. Think first. Of course you want to end up in the shower. No, you don't. You're a fertilizer. Mm-hmm. You can display my shortcomings in front of the lady. You're going to do the needle. It's done here. You're still polishing again. It's going to be a long way. Yeah, it is. But you know what? I'm glad that there's fresh air at least. It's true. That is true in the stars as someone was saying. Yes. The ether. Yes. Beautiful, beautiful desert night. Look, I'd like to know what's going to happen on the horse, though. Yeah, he's back with the camp. You all have horses, actually. I had a really nice horse. And he had a pack deal. Yeah, you did have a really nice one. Bucky. Yeah, Bucky. Bucky. Bucky. Yeah, essentially, essentially, you know, it would just be sort of taken as given that they'll be brought along. I'll try the cargo. I'll try the cargo. All right. Mm-hmm. Once the tracks are linked up and the train rolls in, you can get your horse. They'll be there. All right. Because the best you get to eat and ride when I'm trying to feed them. What? Oh, what? I don't see anything. Oh. Now, there was the matter that failed guts check. What the what failed guts check? Okay. We're going to be the weird fellow. Yes, the blue hair fell. Blue hair fell. So I rolled on the trusty fear table that we've got. And I rolled pretty high. Oh, boy. That comes out as major phobia. Okay. So, well, I'm kind of thinking we'll call it xenophobia. Okay. You never know with these oriental types. We're kind of, you know, our secrets. Oh, you're racist now. But he wasn't oriental. Was he? But they were controlling him. He was in there. He was in there. All right. All right. All right. Okay. You know what I mean? Damn. He was monstrous. He was disturbed by these images of this guy. And in the, you know, in the dreams, he's got this face that's like, you know, demonic with like this third eye that opens up in his forehead. Okay. You know, like a big sort of lines match. You know. So. Nice. Swine to the air. Right. Exactly. The dragon swirling in a figure eight. I can't escape. Exactly. Okay. Pretty trash. Well, thanks. You're welcome. She's so tender about it. She licked me. She said I'm sorry. If I had any idea that sort of thing was frowned upon. It just tastes so good. Come here. Come here. Don't be depressed, Ed. Don't be depressed, Ed. I'm not mad. It's okay. Don't be depressed, Ed. No, nobody's mad. I never heard anybody say she has a beret on. Yeah. It looks like she's wearing a beret. I'm afraid of shame. I know. I'm afraid of shame. I'm afraid of shame. I love it. I love it. I love it. Oh, aren't you good? Aren't you good? Do a great deal. I get features. So I'm xenophobic. Yeah. That's great. We're in California. It's going to be fun. That's good. Basically what it all means, it doesn't mean you're actively xenophobic. It means you're passively xenophobic, meaning whenever you have to make any sort of role when you're dealing with the source of your phobia. Uh-huh. So in this case, foreigners. It's not just Chinese. It is all foreigners. It is all foreigners. Okay. Is that an kongy? No. No. Anyone from abroad, basically. Okay. Uh, and the more foreign looking, the worse it is, right? Okay. Um, so anyone obviously foreign, I guess I'm saying. All right. Um, and so not, not even necessarily so much based off looks, but like language, culture. If they have like an alien sort of. All right. So I would have turned around and go, you're right. Yeah. Hellstrom would have stolen it from me. Yeah. Cause he is an accent. That's right. Exactly. Oh. Alien that Joe Good Hellstrom. Exactly. Oh. Okay. And anyway, it's, it's more of a passive xenophobia anyway because essentially since the major phobia, and you can note that under your hindrances. Standing there. Yeah. She's very awesome. Um, uh, basically it, it imposes a minus four on any role you're going to make. Oh my God. Uh, when dealing with the, the source of that phobia. Holy crap. Okay. So we're trying to like intimidate someone from a foreign culture. Oh, the blood. Or shake it in your boots. Yeah. You don't want to mess with me man. Okay. I will mess you up. Okay. Oh my God. Yeah. So. I'll mess you up. You're a goblin gun. Don't hurt me. Just close your eyes. Just like, even if there's like a dark and patch on his pants. Oh well. That's only a double one. So it's only a negative four. Yeah. Anything. Anything. All right. Shooting at him, you know, because you're, you're just screwed. So the following day passes, you know, you're on this train ride. What can you say? Well, she's coming back. Actually, you know. What are you doing? They're out in the lady. Oh, that's close. No, you're sure. Oh. I'm kind of yummy. Oh, good rule. You want a strawberry? A strawberry? Yeah, I think so. Okay. Let me cut it up. All right. I'm listening. So yeah, you're just on this train journey. Charlie builds kind of in and out, you know. He's in the passenger car most of the time. Then he goes back to check on Hillstrom. The guards are in and out in time and time. They don't speak much. You know, they just wear it. They have their high-collar dusters and their sections on. Do you think they're from the United States? The guards? I say the dock. No. What do you mean? Do you think they're foreigners? Yeah. I think everybody in this game is a foreigner. It's a wall plump. What do you think of a foreigner? A good band? Okay. No, it's a word. Don't do it. Oh. Oh. Oh, sorry. Yeah. So do you think they're from here? Are there from where Hillstrom's from? The guards? Mm-hmm. Well, I don't think I've heard them say enough to really be a judge of that. Okay. I'm just curious. Mm-hmm. It's not funny, imagine, and you're more talkative than they are. That's all I gotta say. [laughter] Is this true? All right. So, getting on to the dust. The night passes them mentally. No, it's about dust. He's like, "You wish." The moon is rising in the dusky twilight. Oh. A sort of red rose color. Mm-hmm. Blood moon rising. Mm-hmm. Charlie Bill checks his pocket watch. I reckon Los Angeles is just a few more minutes ahead. Oh. Should start gathering up our stuff. Oh. What? What stuff? Our backpack? Our backpack? A parable kit or whatever. Saddle bag or whatever. Dude, I was ready like an hour ago. I think for myself. Okay. They come on up to the locomotive. This is a historic moment. Okay. Yeah. Let's go. All right. I'm bringing them down with me now. [laughter] So, yeah. So you head out through the door and onto the locomotive. There's sort of positions you can perch yourselves on looking out around the side of the massive ghost rock boiler that covers this thing. Okay. The train's beginning to slow. You're coming down out of these little rolling foothills sort of covered in oak and sage and so forth. Same gave room out and ahead you can see a pretty remarkable tableau. Far off in the distance is the Pacific Ocean. Oh. Just a band of blue and then a great mass of rocky islands and shoals that covers miles of coastline as far as the eye can see. This would be the maze. The shattered coastline of California that was destroyed by the rig weight. Okay. Closer to, you can see parts of the city of Los Angeles. It's nestled down further down towards the ocean. It's actually a port city. But you can see the spires of a great cathedral rising up even dusk. And then in the immediate distance are kind of satellite, little satellite towns, you know, sort of little boom towns, tents and shacks and that sort of thing. Shanty towns? Shanty towns. Shanty towns. And then closer still are less permanent encampments set up. Flying various banners, dozens of flags with logos of other competing railway companies. Oh. You see the logos of Dixie Rails, Bayou Vermillion to the south and Union Blue and Black River to the north. Mm-mm. No sign of Iron Dragon though. Oh my god. [laughter] It appears that they have hauled a temporary truce amongst themselves in efforts to stop Helstrom from completing this railway because they have erected a giant sort of wooden block over the tracks to prevent you from going in first. Oh shit. Wow. There are hundreds or rather dozens of bonfires. Oh. Okay. That's a holy crap. God damn. And gathered around this pile of wood are hundreds of red robed figures. Yeah. Men and women wearing red cassocks. Oh. And carrying torches and shotguns. Oh, geez. Oh. Standing atop the wood pile is a man in a black cassock with a white rim black hat and white hair flowing from beneath the hat. Mm-mm. Neither of them reverent, grand himself. Mm-mm. Why am I picturing Christopher Lloyd? [laughter] I don't know. This is not very terrifying though. No, I'm thinking of that guy from like Poltergeist 3. Oh. [laughter] You know a whole statement of scarier actors than I knew obviously. I'm trying to minimize it. Because I just know Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future 3. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] Oh. Oh. That's my picture. Standing next to him is Mary Steenberg. Oh. [laughter] Oh, God. That was freaked me out. Poor woman. Oh. Oh, my God. No, I heard stories about... Oh. What? Yeah, I heard stories about like, I mean, he was just constantly drunk and like... Oh, my God. Are you kidding me? Yeah. It would be puking and they'd have to do scenes together and kissing scenes. Oh, my God. It would be like vomit mouth. Wow. Oh, God. Where did my dad tell me that? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Wow. That's incredible. I can't believe it. Yeah. He works a lot too. I know. Well, a lot of them do. Not so much anymore. He doesn't really work that much. He doesn't work that much. He used to work a lot. He used to work a lot. I took these. But then nobody wanted to work with them anymore. Actually, I can't imagine. And you wrote a lot of stuff too. All right, anyway. Okay. So they're there. All right. I was trying to build these about mouth as well. You're here. Yeah. Yeah. That was a lot of mouth, boy. All right. So they're waiting for us. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you can see, you can see in the dust light. In addition to weapons being brandished. You see some of the men bearing weird like packs on their backs. Other. Does it look like explosives? Yeah. That's the evidence of preparations for major confrontation, basically. Yeah. So our army is nil. Oh. Oh. His house, German, his charisma. He didn't say he was prepared. He did say he was prepared. With something special. So we'll see. I guess. No. I know. No. There's an evil lab. Oh, shit. I know. It's a little scary. So, no. The Wasatch, you know, Helstrom's company. They're here as well. I mean, they're gathered around the real head as well. And so you can see actually some of Helstrom's men from his new science division in their white lab coats, screwing around, tinkering with these, you know, sort of clockwork spiders that are, you know, about the size of a pony, you know. Okay. A lot of guys are the size of a pony or something. Yeah. Well, clockwork won this time. Yeah. So, um. Giant bugs. Giant bugs. Mm-hmm. So the training screeches to a halt amidst the Wasatch contingent. And the, uh, the timber barricade is maybe about 50 feet ahead. Okay. Are we, we're stopping. We're slowing down. Uh, you have stopped. You have lost it. And steam is, you know, hissing out of the piston and silver. You're suddenly aware that Helstrom is among you. Mm-hmm. Oh, why? Creeper. What is he doing here? Creeper. Yeah. He's just like standing right behind the corner. Yeah. Hey guys. Wow. Yeah. So you guys are going to fight these people for me. What the? Yeah. You're witnessing history, my new friends. Oh. Bloody violent history. Mm-hmm. But even the good Reverend Grimm cannot stop progress. Mm-hmm. And the so-called Great Rail Wars are over. By Thunder, they're over. Oh, right under. Oh, right under. Now we can all get back to more important things. I got it. There is but one last bit of business to finish. And that is our negotiations with Reverend Grimm. That is the question. We ignored you. [laughter] Outsider. We are outnumbered and have few friends here. But I am not without resources. I suggest you vacate our camp to the rear and stay away from the coming storm. Ooh. Our weapons are not. Okay, all right. Sure. Thank you, sir. I'll see you in another day. Thank God. That's what I was hoping, sir. [laughter] My weapons are not particularly discriminated. Oh, wow. I would not repay you for your help thus far with the violence. Okay. Okay. We're out of here. Go up to me on your journey. Perhaps our paths will cross again in another day. Okay. Wait. I hope not. I think I'll tell myself. I'm on Bessie back. I don't know what you guys are talking about. [laughter] Start walking back up the rails. Yeah. We'll start just walking back, back, back. Yeah. Together, we're headed though. Yeah. Well, away from the action. I mean, he basically said, get the hell out. Just tell him you're not working. Yeah. So, I shall do so. Yeah, I'm going to go. All right. Do you want to stay in fight? No. Okay. Go back to Bessie. No, we are. That's what we're connecting. She's coming, right? She's coming. As soon as they connect for rails. Yeah, so we're going to just hose my back. Commenting on Nivers. Beauley with Helstrom again. I'm like, I'm like, we're out from my horse. Oh. So, he doesn't have anything to do with it. Yeah. He's obviously. He's around. I kind of want to see what happens. Well, he can walk back away. But go ahead, your foot. Yeah. Yeah. I want to see. Yeah. Yeah. It'll certainly be a show where it's a... You don't have a range, but I'm trying to connect with a spider. Yeah. No, it'll definitely be a show where it's watching. So, let's go up into the foothills. Okay. Okay. So, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Nobody's paying attention. Nobody's paying attention. No. Yeah. As you walk away, you hear Helstrom, like, you know, addressing Grim through his megaphone. You know. Grim, I've come through. Yeah. They were like, screw this crap. Yeah. Power walking. Power walking. You walk maybe about a hundred yards when you hear a gunshot ring out. Oh. It's rock a little bit. Come on in. Here we go. So, a gunshot rings out. There's a brief. Helstrom's voice stops abruptly. Oh. There's a brief moment of silence and then all hell breaks. Yeah. Aw, shit. Oh, I guess it didn't go out. Everyone just opens up. So, we're running. I'm running. Okay. I'm going to run up to the hills. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I wonder who bit it. Yeah. Um, yeah. Well, the... So, do we get high up? Yeah. And then we can look down. Okay. Yeah. You get... We're just safe distance. Barn up back, turn around. You can see the... I'm thinking about Blackadder, the first series, when he's like, from the periphery of the war. Yeah. You're just kind of like, you know, milling your mouth. Yeah, on the fridges. I'm just doing nothing. Oh, God. We had a party just like, "Run to the hills! Run to the hills! Run to the hills!" I love the coming from the hills. Run to the hills! Run to the hills! Run to the hills! Run to the hills! Run to the hills! You see the hills go the other way! So you, you, you know, get far enough back, turn around. You can see the, the Wasatch Rail had just, you know, encased in fire, basically. Oh, God. The cannons are going off. Oh, my God. The bullets, you know, pinging off the barricade, off the, the engine of the good intentions. Um, um, um... Healthrooms, uh, automatons are sort of waiting in with their Gatling guns. Wow. Opening up. Um... That's just so cool. I know, they are cool. Lots. Yeah, they are cool. You see, uh, several soldiers from the Union Blue Corporation. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh, which is sort of the federally funded, uh, company headed by Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. So he got all the old army guys in it. You see, you see about two dozen of them, uh, launch into the Gathering Darkness, uh, propelled by jetpacks. Oh! Wow! What? I don't think I can handle jet or copper, jetpacks so far. Yeah, jet or copper. Yeah, jet. Yeah, yeah. Okay. You see, you see some strange sort of scintillating lights, uh, kind of coursing through the, the packed masses. Hard to say what that is. Um... [Laughs] It's, for, furious notes. Um, strangely, uh, you hear the strains, like, like through the occasional pauses of gunfire, you hear the strains of like a New Orleans-style brass band playing. Oh! That would be the value of a million. Oh my gosh. What? That's awesome. You're doing music? Yep. That's cool. What was thinking that they were watching Game of Thrones? I would tell everyone to be the guy just playing the drum on the ship. The whole time. Yeah. That would be like, that's, it was like a good job, didn't it? But, yeah, your arms are like... Boop, boop, boop, boop. Sorry, good luck. Faster, faster. Making your, making his way towards you, uh, away from this swirling maelstrom, is a solitary figure, uh, sort of running with his shoulders hunched and like holding his hat to his head. Mm-hmm. I wouldn't be your friend, Lacey. And, uh, emerging from the slog of war, you see that it is none other than Lacey Onal. Yay! Was it the heck? I was like, I'm really happy to see him, right? Yeah! Just imagine him like this. Yeah, that's exactly what you do. Yeah. Still got his camera slung under his shoulders. Yeah. Probably holding a briefcase. Yeah. Yeah. That's a little hit of the giant backpack. Yeah. Totally. Alright, so he's going the opposite way. He's running towards you. He's this. Yeah. So, uh, so he kind of runs up to you breathlessly and says, uh, almost as if, like, what's going on behind him isn't even going on. Uh-huh. He says, I need your help, plain and simple. What? What? What, what, whatever for? Uh, an old friend of mine, Sam Hellman, is in Lost Angels right now, and I think he might be in trouble. And I mean Mortal Danger. He didn't realize there's Mortal Danger just losing his going on there, sir. Yes, and it's the perfect distraction. Oh. Oh. Okay. Yeah. Well, do you know way into town that doesn't go through this war zone? We can, uh, we can head out around, um, oh, what the hell is it called? Ghost Town. Okay. What? Yeah. What? Ghost Town? It's a town called Ghost Town. Yeah, it's called Ghost Town. It's called Ghost Town. I refuse to believe that. Uh, see here. Yeah, Ghost Town. Okay. All right. You're used to believe that. Okay. Well, considering there's Ghost Rock, let's say it's named after Ghost Rock. No, that's, I thought that too, as I was scoffing. It's like golden. Between scoffing, I definitely. It's like, well, I suppose, like, it possibly would happen. What kind of Mortal Danger are you talking about here? Yeah. We just got on a Mortal Danger ourselves. We're not too thrilled to be flinging ourselves back at it. Uh, good point, but, um, I can't do this alone. Do what exactly do you have to do anything? Betch my friend. Why? How old from whom? Well, um, I have, you know, he produces a slip of paper. I have this address, his last known location. All right. And the last communique I heard from him indicated that, um, well, let's just say he's not in Los Angels under his real name. But that, uh, they might be, um, close to figuring out who he really is. And that's all I can really say. Okay. Where is this guy? Where is this last known address? Uh, in the, in the city, he's at a boarding house. Can you, like, roughly point? Yes. I'm going to grab the paper on the hand. Wait a minute. Okay. What's it say? Oh, it's an address. Yeah. Yeah. What's the address? What is it? Well, it has a three, ten, eighth street. Fine. Thank you. It might mean something to us later. Yeah. But he's going to go with you. Fine. All right. So, can we just rest? Can we leave it, Don? I mean, this is, no, we need this distraction. There's no way we can get back into that town. All right. We'll never get our horses back. I have to. All right. I'm sorry. I'm bringing the tone down. That's all right. I've eaten as my favorite cat or cows. Mm hmm. All right. So let us go. All right. So you, um, follow Lacey. Yeah. You, uh, you kind of take a long route around the raging battle. Let me see anything exciting happening with the spiders or anything. Oh, yeah. The spiders are sort of waiting in amongst, you know, some of the just like stabbing people and giant awesome legs. Exactly. You know, kind of tearing away through the Dixie rails. People are like punting, punting, like Starship trippers. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see here. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. How many people spot us? Yeah. Well, at one point, you know, you're all slowing down. Just like train six by what's going on. And then a bullet goes woo. You kind of realize, oh, yeah, we're well within rifle ring. Can we keep going, please? Yeah. So you kind of you head up into some of the, you know, the Chaperral, you know, and, and then down kind of around the back of ghost town, which is one of those shanty towns. You spotted her. Oh, okay. So it's not that large. It's maybe a few thousand people. You know, it's sort of, it's sort of perched near a cliff, you know, looks down into the maze, you know, so you can hear the waves crashing far below gathering darkness. I've never heard that before. Indeed. And then you keep smelling the sea air first time. And soon you're, you're leaving the battle behind you. It's about an hour's hike down out of the foothills into the valley where Los Angeles is situated. It's a, it's a remarkable city. It's basically a plan. Yeah, it's a planned city. So you can see it coming down, glinting in the last rays of the setting sun out to the west. There's this massive cathedral that rises up, and then all the streets radiate out from it, like spokes of a wheel, and then there are like these circular streets connecting all the avenues. And about a third of it actually sort of extends out into the ocean, like it's peers. So it's a church. Tell me, is the church black? No, I don't believe it is. It's just, it's not, it's not carved ebony, no. It's mission style, right? Well, yeah, it's kind of, well, it was recently built. I mean, you know, it's a new construction. Oh, so it's, it's not Spanish. It's not Spanish, but it's just sort of a hodgepodge of style. It's a cathedral. Two bell towers. Yeah, I want it a little more. Well, you're not that close to it. I'm just saying what you can see from a half mile. It looks like a church. Yeah. Looks like a big cathedral. Okay, it looks like a big cathedral. All right, so gradually you make your way down into the outskirts of the city. And then through to the streets of the city itself. Okay. They're dark and empty. Save for a few dogs. Try to impasse you with a rib sticking out. You, you all can't help but think that, you know, even with such little meat on their bones. Dog like that would make good eating. What? Okay, so this is a thought. So it slips into your head. Yeah, we're hungry. Yeah. I'm gonna have some more of my jerky. Oh, good reason about that. I'm gonna get these reservations. I guess I'll eat something. Yeah, yeah. Some hard pack. Mm-hmm. It's a good stuff. Yeah, it's all sort of absent-mindedly chow, chow away as you make your way through the empty streets. You can hear some booms and rumbles, you know, coming from the battle. Occasionally flashes of light sort of play upon the haze of the southern sky. So go ahead and everyone give me a stealth roll. I don't have any stealth. Ha ha, I do. That is what? Deform minus two. Oh, Deform minus two. I got two two zero. And a wild guy? Oh, I mixed my wild. That's like three. Minus two is one, so one. I'm gonna do that with two. Oh, I got a six. Nice. I had a five, so I got a little eleven. That seems more- Oh, God, I wrote the same thing. Zero. I got a six and then I rolled again from one. Oh, so seven total. Yes. Okay. All right. And what was that? A two? Yeah. All right. Pongy knocks over an entire line of trash cans. I'm not going over a house. Yeah, I thought it was a little shanty. Okay, something's going out. Oh, there's little pads. It's your little pads are kind of sore, chafed. 'Cause you know how to attach them on. Oh, it's gonna be better though. There we go. Okay. So now I will lick them off. Thanks for the deliciousness. We really keep the little socks on the feet. I keep them waist-rise. Hey, I wish. That was a good idea. Good girl. It's kind of like with babies where you just put little mittens on so they don't scratch themselves. Yeah. Oh. Oh, doggy. I don't know why they're all sensitive, but yeah. It's weird. Okay, so do you want to spend that red ship there to add a D6 roll to yourself? Yes. All right, go. One, two, three, four. Okay, plus two, six. All right, so you all made yourself the whole place. We made this. Okay, yay. We really needed to make those. Yeah. Well, that's a good idea. Okay, so yeah, basically you, you know, Lacey kind of leads the way. But it's pretty easy to navigate your way through because all the streets are just numbered. You know, there's avenues on their streets. They're all numbered. But, you know, it takes a little while because, you know, to get to a cross, you have to kind of follow the circle with one of the ring streets out to the spoke street. Right. You know, and then go down that street. So in due time, you do come to close to where you want to be. Yeah. You're actually at sixth street. Okay. When you hear voices coming your way. Okay. Can we hear the voices? A general babble of noise. Like a number of people? Uh-huh. Yes. You know, it's all these like, you know, wooden houses, you know, typical sort of Western architecture, right? So you just duck up a little narrow alley between a couple, you know, mercantile establishment and, you know, residents of some sort. Okay. And moments later, you see a column of what appeared to be wounded coming back from the battle. Oh, they're coming back already. Oh, wow. Well, it's been about an hour. Okay. You know, so, and these are just some guys who have been sent to the rear. You know, they're wearing the red robes, you know. Really? Can we get into a boarding house or? Can we get into a red robe somehow? We steal the ropes. Well, they're out in the middle of the street. They sell their weapons. Oh, no. No. All right. I want to find this boarding house so we can get inside. Oh, yeah. You do hear a wagon coming up the other way, creaking away. Okay. It's drawn by two mules and you see it kind of across your path. There are, let's see here. This one's being escorted by 15 other men in red robes. Oh, God. Unwounded. Unwounded. And sitting atop the wagon is a woman dressed in the white robes. Her hair is pulled back into a severe bun and she has these sort of steely eyes that, you know, cageily evaluate the wounded men as they make their way back. And one of them sort of makes his way towards her and says, "Thank the Lord is you, Sister Andrea." We thought we were goners. Can you, and then all of a sudden, one of the escorts just comes up on him and hits him over the head of the club. What? He drops to the ground. Oh, boy. And then more of those guys kind of swarm the wounded. You know, you just watch as they just start beating him, you know, and the wounded men are crying out for help. Please go up. Don't do it. You know, that sort of thing. But soon their cries are silenced and you just hear clubs hitting meat, basically. And then one by one, the unconscious wounded are loaded in the back of the wagon. How's it going to get all swollen green on this? Scary. So the woman in the white robes looks around once more, and then, you know, flicks the reins of the wagon and it clatters off. Lacy's just standing over his mouth hanging over him. Yeah, we gotta find your friend. Can we get out of here? Yeah, let's go. Okay. So we're going to make our way to seventh street. Yes. So you continue making your way through the, again, deserted streets. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You do find the rooming house. Okay. What do you want to do? Not good. All right. So there's a, the door is answered by a small somewhat timid man. Mm-hmm. Yes, can I help you? Well, Lacy, I mean. Mm-hmm. Yeah, so we were like, oh, yes. Hello there, friend. Just wanted to pay a call on my friend, Mr. Helman. Okay. And, so, um, and so, um, fellow kind of eyes in a little bit and steps aside. All right. All right. So we all head up, uh, head upstairs, like the floor. Mm-hmm. Find the appropriate room. Three, two, three, four, then. And, um, and Lacy finds the doors unlocked. This is there. Yeah. Inside, the room is neat and tidy. The bed is made. No sign of any possessions. Nothing with personal effects. No, no personal effects. Where's your friend? Tell him. This isn't right. Too late. He must have gotten to him. Yeah. See the kind of man to leave a secret message anywhere, maybe? Let's take a really quick look. Okay. So, uh, notice rolls. Uh-uh. And you have eight. Ooh, it's four out of five. Thirteen, all right. Uh-uh. Five. Five out of six, and a four. Ten. All right. So you, uh, you're all quite confident that you've searched the room, you know, and topped the bottom. It's not a whole lot to find. Mm-hmm. And, you know... There's nothing there. All that you really, um, tend to ascertain is, um, it's almost like someone never stayed here. Mm-hmm. But you said your friend was under another name. No, Sam Hellman is the, the name he's under. Uh-uh. Well, why don't we ask the boarding house guy who our last time Sam was? Yeah. All right. So you head back down? Mm-hmm. No sign of the warning word. Oh, fuck. Oh, that's creepy. Ooh. We gotta get out of here. Yeah. Sort of a backdoor haircut. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yeah. Even if you're thinking about, you see, uh, some torchlight coming in through the street windows, street side windows. Uh-huh. Screw it all out the window. Kitchen, kitchen. Where's the kitchen? Out the back? Yeah. All right. All right. Whatever it takes. Run down the hall, through the kitchen. There's actually a backdoor in the kitchen. Okay, all right. Go there, have foot in it. You emerge into a backyard area. Uh-huh. There's, you know, various alleyways. Let's go. Get it off down. Um, let's sort of get out away from each other's tail. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So you, you, you begin to scatter. Um, still strolls. Uh, why don't I have to stealth? I don't have to stealth. I do. I know you do. Oh. That's awesome, actually. Somebody does. Okay. I got a five on one. Okay. All right. So what do we want to roll for? Uh, D four minus two. Two. I don't have any more chips. Two and I got a two and you don't have a chip. Well, there's no point. It's been a chip. Hey, go for it. Sorry. Five. I said to capture her, you could probably, yeah. Defend, tilt, defend. Okay. So, um, maybe. Yeah. So you, uh, then moves down back alley, uh, out onto, you know, leads to, uh, you know, another backyard area. We all hop offense, uh-huh, moved down another alleyway. Um, kungi, you're sort of in the lead and, um, you're coming down this alley and, and you don't notice until it's too late that there's actually the alley needs into one of the main streets. And so you kind of pop out of it and you see a group of these red-robed fellows. Uh, and, uh, and, uh, and one of them says, "Bolt, you're in violation of the right reference curfew." And then, uh, immediately opens fire on you. Wow. What? Jumping down. Yeah. I mean, holy crap. Can I use fighting? Um, well, no. I mean, he's, you know, a ways off. He's, he's opening fire on you. Okay, so I'm gonna run. I'm gonna run back the way it came. Well, let's do a card draw and see who gets to act first. You got to drop the top. Oh, I do. Yeah. Oh. Hmm. Seven. Two. Okay. Right. I'm running. Oh, hold on a minute. Oh. I'm running back the way it came. All right. So, um, so you, you all see congee, you know, they're running back down the alley. You say anything? I just say they're guys over there. They're shooting. They're shooting. They're shooting. I'm just gonna say they're shooting. So, basically, as you run back down the alley, you hear a gunshot and like, you know, sort of the wood of the building, you know, it kind of explodes. All right. Run. So here we go. So we're running. We're following her. Okay. Uh, running for it. All right. Yes. Yep. Okay. We'll bust out the chase rules. All right. Here we go. Mm-hmm. Where's my horse? That's a really good question. Yeah. Oh, that would be awfully working spiculous. Yeah. That's true. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That's true. That's faster. Yeah. Lookie good. Okay. I guess she's just, she went off into the bedroom. Mm-hmm. Okay. So everyone needs to give me an agility role. Oh. Sweet. Wait, footed. What? Wow. Look at you. Is that like an edge? Yeah. Oh. Well, shit. Let's see here. [Laughs] My hindrance is loyal to us. So I doubt having me to leave people behind, right? You all have a nice life. See ya. All right. So agility? Agility? Yeah. I just didn't know if it maybe gave me a bump for my agility. Let's see here. I rolled a one. And your wild eye as well. Oh, wait. I did write, okay. So that was a one. Four. Right. Okay. My agility is a D8, so that was pitiful. That was incredibly pitiful. That was really sad. It was impressively pitiful. Yeah. There we go. Good. [Sighs] What is this? Interesting. I'm just going to check that little part. Yeah. It's too quiet. Yes. Oh, no. Please put it. Uh, yeah. Let's see. Um... Mm-hmm-hmm-hmm. Oops. I would give yourself a plus two on that. Yay. So just roll my dive with two. Mm-hmm. Okay. I got a six on one. All right. Yes. Keep it going. And a five. That's 11, 12, 15. That's fantastic. Uh-huh. No, my original one. I got a one. I was like, "Oh, no!" [Laughs] And Quat, how'd you do that? Four. You got a four. Okay. A little lacy here. I like to see what. Did you do your roll yet? What? Your agility roll? Yeah, mine was like, what, five? Five. Okay. Four, I think, actually. Okay. It was four 'cause it was a sandwich. Right. Okay. Duck got 13. Good! Awesome. And a quad you got a... Four? Okay. Okay. What lacy get? You got a nine, I got a four. Oh. And for you, one for Quat. And then Doc gets his choice of one of these three. Whoa! Okay. So let me tell you what that all is. Mm-hmm. So basically, your card determines your initiative and how well you manage to maneuver that particular round. Okay. Okay. So, hold on, let me roll for these guys here. Really? Okay. Trips on his boobs. Hold on, part the opposite. Wait, yeah. Okay. This guys are really weird. So yeah, higher is going to be better there, Doc. So, what do you want to keep? Okay. And, um... Mm-hmm, yes. So, let's see here. The red rope fella's got an ace. Ah! Mm-hmm. Did anyone else get an ace? No. No. (laughter) Thanks for asking. The character was a higher card than a foe, so to have the advantage over him. This is abstract, so maybe the character is ahead behind, or even parallel to his foe. The important thing is that he is somehow maneuvered in such a way as to gain a superior position and can bring his weapons to bear. Ah. Mm-hmm. So no. Oh no. I'm never bound. (laughter) This is actually on the action card as usual, since this is abstract, the value of the action card determines any penalties for the role. Okay, so they are right on top of you guys. How many is they? Yeah. Ten. Ah! (laughter) Holy crap. It's like three for each of us. All right. (laughter) Just like simple numbers, people. Right, right. Lacey better pulls late. Or else we're pushing them. Yeah, exactly. (laughter) Push them down. (laughter) Distractive. Distractive. Distractive. All right. Hi. So, um... Mm-hmm. Oh man. Okay. Okay. Okay. All right. So, yeah. They're coming up behind you, shouting out, you know, "Paul, do your violation for curfew." Yeah. We know. We know. Stop saying that. (laughter) All right. So, um... Let's see here. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. Here we go. Shots ring out. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh my god. Oh my god. Ah! (laughter) It's been a lot of combat. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Aww. Aww, to combat David. Okay. So... (laughter) They're hard giant bugs. Yeah. (laughter) Yeah. We could kick their ass. We could kick their asses while playing our characters. Mm-hmm. We're not fighting all the time. Mm-hmm. Oh, did anyone get a club, by the way? No, I have a tomahawk. No, no. (laughter) The suits. Did anyone get a club? No, I did. Yeah, I got a club. All right. What are your values on your club? Five. Ten. Okay. (laughter) Like, buddy was talking about a weapon because we've done so much combat. I love you. Okay. So... (laughter) I need an agility roll for both of you. All right. Mm-hmm. At minus two. All right. Oh, okay. Sure. Agility. Minus two. Fail. Okay. Two. I got a fail. And minus two puts it at three, so no. Fail, fail, fail. Okay. And... Fail. You got a fail. I'm going to... Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Nope. Nope. No. All right. Mm-hmm. Okay. It's not really gonna have done that really shocking thing, right? (laughter) Mm-hmm. Oh, that's... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to stop you guys, too, though. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to have a little bit for everybody. (laughter) Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lacey has a club as well. Mm-hmm. Great. And he circles around you guys. Yeah, cool. Look at the club. Yeah. He's running. They're tripping, falling, rolling over, pulling up at the turtle ball. (laughter) Just rolling down. You get a pill bug. (laughter) That's actually Kongi's spirit animal. Yeah. It's a pill bug. Aww. Aww. No. Maybe right now, yeah. Feeling it. Tough little outer shell. My toughness is sick, so. Toughness is sick. All right. In case you were wondering, David? Yes, I was, actually. So you hear, okay. So basically. Aww. Here we go. All right. So basically. Yes. All right. Lacey. All right. Basically, you guys are running down this alleyway. There's a degree in the alleyway. All right. Sure. Fresh. Washing pans. Yeah. That's chamber pups. Yeah. Slippery patches. Broke and furniture. Hanging right at head level. Broken furniture. Crates, that kind of thing. Yeah. So Lacey actually closed lines himself. Oh. No. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. And Doc, you give a quick glance back and you can see about half of the, half of the red rope guys just like surrounding us. She just got real. Oh no. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. And then, and then you see just muzzle flashes as the guys chasing after you're just like opening fire. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. You're winged by some buckshot. You're shaken. Oh. But you don't take a wound. Okay. Good. Thank God. Quad. What's your toughness? Five. All right. Again, you're winged. Some, some shot passes through your hat and sort of scraped, you know, a cut to your scalp. So you're going to be shaken. Okay. And then Doc, what's your toughness? Five. Five. Five. Five. Okay. You actually take a hit in, in the back. Oh my God. Or from the shot. So you're shaken and you take a wound. So you're at one. Damn. Wait, wait. Oh my God. All right. Let me see how being shaken affects you. Damn. Okay. Yeah. What? That's worse than I thought. Yeah. That's pretty bad. That's pretty bad. Okay. Okay. So I'll need agility rolls from everyone again. Those of you who are shaken, which should be all of you, will be at a minus two on your roll. So I still get a plus two to mine. Yeah. So I could do it with me. Five. I got a five. Minus two is three. Okay. I got a five and four. So that's no good. All right. All right. Then I got a seven. I got a seven. You're at zero. But with a minus two. Well, I got a five, but I get a plus four. You get a plus four? There's a plus two for your fleet footed. Oh, plus two. Oh, well, then it's a five still. Minus one for your wound is actually four. Okay. That's fine. Success. All right. So, let's see here. I was just gonna roll the four last time. It was a four. Okay. So you get a card and then you just see how your pursuers are doing here. Oh, thank God. Ah, they fail. Good. Good. So Doc, you're the only one with an action card this round. All right. Do you want to try and shake off your shaking this, first of all? Yeah. I'm gonna roll. I have five. Okay. So that'll shake off the shaking for next round. Okay. I mean, well, for this round, but you can't act. Until the next round. Until the next round, exactly. That's fine. Yeah. Okay. That's fine. Yeah. That's fine. That's fine. Yeah. That's fine. That's fine. Yeah. You're all still just running down this alleyway. Trying to dodge. Okay. I got a seven. Two or three. Yeah. So, Doc, you remember that these guys in the red robes are sort of grims, private army, and they're known as the guardian angels. Oh, good. Oh, no. Anyway. Fun fact, everyone. Everybody angels, run. All right. So new agility rolls from everyone. So quad and congee, you'll get a minus two on this. There's two. So do I still get a minus two? You are not in one because you're no longer shaped. Plus two. Plus two. Plus two. Okay. Five, three, fail. Yeah. Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay. Five. Plus two is, yeah. Yeah. Three plus. Yeah. Oh, shit. Not again. It's happening. The black guy can't die first. Oh, god. The main thing. No, Lacey's gone. Oh, well. She's scound. Oh, my god. All right. Oh, no. Oh, no. That's three. Oh. So they keep going down all hearts. Yeah. And then you two fail, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We failed. Yeah. Sure. All right. Well, the good news is that you're actually starting to put some distance between you and the guardian angels. Oh. That's welcome. But I know. I'm surprised. They're taking it all apart. Yeah. Exactly. Well, they're dealing with obstacles too. That's the thing. And these robes. Yes. And running in robes. It's kind of a story. Oh. We've got to get ourselves some of those damage. I know. I think so. If we are. All right. Some more shots. More shots ring out. Right. Right. And Doc, you're actually being hit. Oh. Oh. I'm going to throw it away. Oh. Well, fortunately. I can't take it. Yeah. Yeah. Fortunately, it just sort of wings you. Okay. Okay. It catches your coat there a little bit. Cool, cool, cool. Okay. So, oh. Bigger rolls for you too as well. It's going to shake off. Bigger. Oh. Wait. Wait. Why couldn't I have done that before? Because you didn't have. An action card? Yeah. Oh. Ah. I... Oh. I use my mouth. Oh. I hate my foot. That was wild. That was wild. Thanks. Wow. What am I doing? Oh. No, seriously. You're making a lighter foot there. Oh, there it is. Okay. Oh, that really proud. It sure does. Kind of crazy dice you got in this house. So, I ace my... Oh, okay. Well, go for it. All right. Oh, yeah. Me too. All right. Plus two is eight. 13. Okay. Wow. Geez, you guys. So, you shake off your shaken and can act this round if you make your agility rolls. All right. Oh. Okay. So, you got your... So, go again. Three. I got five. Five. Okay, so it's just a normal success. Okay. Go for it with your agility rolls. No penalty. Okay. Thank you. Um, six. Okay. So, let's see here. One good up. Three. Oh. How'd we do? Three. Eight. Ooh, we back up. All right. One, four. Okay. So, um... Oh, yeah. One, four. Okay. So, um... Anyone get a club? Nope. No. Stayed. Okay. All right. So, um, you're kind of keeping this, uh, this long distance. You know, there. You'll duck around a corner. Mm-hmm. Kind of lose them for a little bit and then they'll come around and take a pot shot at you. Mm-hmm. Some shot whizzes past you. Okay. But doesn't actually manage to do anything harmful. Okay. Okay. You can see up ahead the outskirts of the city. Mm. And the inky black of night. Uh-huh. And you can still instantly see lights on the underside of the-- Oh, dear. --of the shadows, you know, air shadows of the clouds of the raging battle. Right. All right. So I'll just need one more round of agility rolls from everyone. Four. Finally. Four. I got a six. Oh. Okay. They got, uh, 22. Let's see here. It's just like a regular roll, right? I mean, you just-- Yeah. What the hell are you talking about? Twenty-two. I ace-- I ace their agility roll twice. Oh, my God. All right. Well, then I guess that would-- That would change things, wouldn't it? You succeeded, right? Yeah. Everyone succeeded? Yeah, I succeeded. Okay. Doc. Wow. Thank you. Oh, I got the clubs. All right. I got a king. Ooh. Nice. I got a nine. I have hearts. I got a nine of hearts. Mm-hmm. Okay. And a king. Mm-hmm. Okay. I got the clubs. Me. And what was it? Seven. Seven. Okay. I will need an agility roll at minus two. Okay. Mm-hmm. Four. Nope. Fail. Fail. All right. So you actually trip and fall, but quickly regain your footing. Mm-hmm. But in the process, you take a fatigue level. Okay. Okay. Where do you put that in? It's over on the side. There you go. It's on any twos. Oh, it's from the bottom. All right. Oh, all right. So it's sort of like cumulative with your wounds. So if you had like a wound and a level fatigue, you'd be at minus two. Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay. Let's see here. Okay. So, Doc, as you're in the lead, of course, you know? Sure. Making your... Somebody has to. And you see the outskirts of the city and it's just opening up in the countryside. Right as you're kind of about to clear the last street. A guardian angel steps around the corner. He's unaffiliated with the group that's chasing you. Uh-huh. But you know, it's just like random chance. It happens to do. You know, he's coming around the corner and you're coming up this way. So you guys are in short range of each other. Wow. Okay. He's drawing a pistol. What are you going to do? Oh, shit. Wow. Well, you do. Exactly. Like I have a rifle or a bowie knife. I'm going to go for that. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So that's a fighting roll. I do not have a fighting roll. Oh, thank you. We think that. All right. Yeah. Shooting. Yeah. All right. So he actually is acting on a joker. So he's going to act first. Oh. Wow. He's crazy. Yeah. It moved. Exactly. All right. I rolled a three, but the joker. He gives him a plus two. So it's a fine. So it's a hit. Oh. What's going on, man? I have a lacy. I know. Lacy and his fucking hair brain schemes. All right. Toughness is. Five. Okay. So the bullet wings your wrist, actually. Right across your wrist. It's going to leave you shaken. So it's going to cancel your action. As you reach. You know, you reach for your, your shooting iron. Now. You too. What did you guys get? I got a nine of hearts. Seven of spades. All right. So close. Okay. So you're tripping. Congue. What do you want to do? I'm going to. Do I see this happening? Yes. I'm going to shoot at the angel in front of me. Okay. Up to both. And what was your, a nine, you said? Yes. Okay. So you're way back. Like you guys got like way strung out. Yeah. So you're actually at long range for the shots. It's going to be a minus four on your, on your role. Mm. Minus four, am I shooting? Uh-huh. I'll go for it. Yeah. I'm going for it. Just don't hit me. Okay. All right. Try not to. Okay. Five. A minus four. Yeah. And that was awesome, nothing. Okay. So yeah, you, you know, left a couple shots while you're running, but, you know, they go wide. Um, and then quad, you are sort of picking yourself up. But you could take a shot if you wanted to. Oh. Minus four. No, then, well, that would be how I could possibly make it. You'd have to ace a couple of times, basically. Yeah. So, oh, if there's no penalty to fail. And you got that blue chip. So you could catch it for an extra D six on your role. Why not? One and a three. Mm. So if you catch in the blue chip, add a D six to your three. Eight. Uh-huh. Eight altogether. Minus four is a four. So that's a hit. So I hit. Yeah. Nice. Okay. Two D six damage. And then you just sort of shut your eyes and hope for the best. Oh, dear gosh. Ah! And you actually managed to get the guy. Oh, five. Five. All right. So, uh, so Doc, you know, you're like, oh, you know, and he's going to be like, ah! And then it's like, ah! He doesn't pull it out of nowhere. And he just, he just sort of like spins around with his robes flying out, automatically. And it goes face down into a horse drop. Oh, cool. That's good. Awesome. So, um, so yeah, so you guys are free and clear of Lost Angels. Oh. That was Lost Angels, huh? That was Lost Angels for you. Wow. So I think we're going to run for the... Oh, it's gone. No, I know. No. Thought about it. Go on. You're just going to start randomly murdering people. Yeah. No, I really thought that this guy's going to go squeal. Oh my God. Yeah. So we're going to head to the hills, right? You're running back. Yep. I need to run to the hills and play. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Um, so, um, do you want to, like, kind of make your way back towards the, um, somebody handed me their venture card? Oh. You want to make your way back towards the, um, the Wasatch Railhead, or anything like that? Yeah, I want to get my horse. Kind of see what's going on. Yeah, I think we should kind of hover in our spot. All right. What do you think? Yeah. All right. It was, like, what? Two hours of getting shot at. It was just wasted. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was real nice. I get to do a helium roll on myself. Yeah. Yeah. It's like that shot. You're back. So, um... And my wrist. The answer is no. So you're making your way back out towards the Wasatch Railhead. Yeah. That's the one thing. What a bit of Indians approach. Yeah. Fuck! The Apache powder. No. And the flitter glue. The flitter glue is running. I need to get part of this. Ah, yes. Don't give me ideas. I know. I know. Too late. So, so as you get closer to the, to the battle, you can hear the, the groan of, of ghost rock powered war wagons. Oh god. The thunder of artillery. This, this contest was a bad idea. Don't you think this was a bad idea? Contest. Contest. It was ill-advised. It was. It was. It went pear-shaped. Definitely. Definitely. That escalated quickly. Yeah. No. It killed the guy. I don't want to talk to you about that. Yeah. I'm going to lay low for a while. Yeah. Maybe you want it for murder. [Laughter] Well, you haven't seen it in film. Oh, yeah. So the, the, the moon is hanging overhead. I just washed up the other night. Oh, really? Very good. Oh. So the, the moon is hanging overhead and sort of illuminating this, this, this battle. Yeah. Which is, you know, I mean, you guys are, you know, quarter mile from it. Yeah. I'd hope we were a half mile. A half mile then. Okay, please. Off you outcrop. Yeah. I've lost a car lane. Right. You're sort of halfway between Los Angeles and ghost town. Okay. Okay. And then the battles look sort of out this way. Okay. All right. It'll somewhat saved, please. Well, at this point, you hear. Never. A firm. At this point, you hear what sounded like a buzzing of giant insects overhead. Dude. What? Drop. Drop. Oh. And that one. Looking up, you see three airships. Okay. So it's a bridgeable type of black airship. So they're blending into the night and making their way overhead. They're unmarked. So it's hard to say who's side they're on. But you watch as they fly out over, over the Wasatch railhead and went out towards the main battle action. Just battle dirigibles. Battle dirigibles, exactly. I mean, you get hysterical pretty soon. Just telling you, you're not letting up. You're wrapping up here. You're not letting up. I'm not. So you watch as each one of these airships, once it gets out over the main battle, drop something about the size of a giant cave barrel. Right. Sort of craling a greenish smoke after it. Greenish. Oh, greenish. A second later, there's a blinding flash of light. And then, like, two seconds go by, and you are all hit by this roaring light. What? And the last thing you're sort of aware of is this sort of giant mushroom cloud in the shape of a skull. Oh my god. You're opening up all of the battlefields. Okay. We're going to leave it off there. Oh my god. Okay, just a ghost rock bomb. Yep. No. Just one battle dirigibles. Just one battle dirigibles. That's me. I love that. Aww.
