Humans: Cultural Liturgies - Pastor Bronson Duke

How do we as Christian’s resist seemingly innocent cultural practices and liturgies that are aspiring to recruit our heart and imagination? Every part of our lives shape our mind, our habits, and what our time is dedicated to. We must resist the cultural liturgies that subtly try to form us. We do this together by transforming our desires through Christian habits, disciplines, and liturgies that reshape our hearts to desire God’s kingdom. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) “Your deepest desire is the one manifested by your daily life and habits.” - Geoff Dyer | Zona
