You're listening to a one FM podcast. And now patiently waiting on the other end of the telephone line. I have Marie from the visitors in face center. Good afternoon, Marie. Hi, Johnny. Hi, Jonathan. Hi, very good. And yourself, you're improving. Yes, I am. Thank you very much. Yeah, getting over that dreaded lugey last week. I'm pleased to hear that. No worries at all. Yeah, we've got an interesting weekend coming up. Yeah, we have got some really interesting things happening. It's weekend, so, yeah, big festival. There's a great musical performance happening. And then, yeah, an exhibition launching on Monday as well. That I'll be delighted to tell you about. But, you know, feeling for those people who are a bit down with the lugey or whatever that's going around at the moment, you might need a good book to read. So, you can send someone along to the Shepherd and Lively over the coming days because the friends of Shepherd and Lively's book sale is on. It's a great chance to grab a bargain. They are only taking cash for the sale, but there'll be a fantastic array of books there to purchase. And it's running today through till 5.45. So, today, 10 till 12.45, Sunday, 12 till 3.45. So, get along to the Shepherd and Library. You meringue, stick, grab yourself a few books, great bargains, if you do need to hold in and keep warm this weekend. No worries, and I love that little note, they bring your own carry bag. Yeah, good deal, library bag. Yeah, good deal, lots of books there. Yep. Can see you about keeping warm, there's a bit of a great thing happening at the show ground this morning that'll certainly warm you up. Because we're talking about all things, barbecuing. Yeah, I reckon. Smoke on the water. Fantastic festival. It's been doing around a few different destinations, and we're lucky it's our turn this weekend. So, kicking off on Saturday from 11am through till 8pm in the evening, and then Sunday 11am till 7pm at the show ground. And the activities on offer, just, oh my goodness, it's going to make an outwater. It's going to be hard rigging. Because there is so much. Yeah, she tastes buds, you know. Yeah, exactly, delectable smoked meats are going to be cooked to perfection by talented pet masters, juicy ribs to tender brisket, all sorts of things to satisfy the meat lovers. And yeah, it will be a real market of different storeholders doing amazing things with the area meat and other foods as well. And there's a fridge benders on site as well, all to be touched at storeholders' prices. But more than just the food, celebration of all things barbecuing, there'll be live cooking demos. You can learn the secret behind making your own smokey masterpieces at home. There's going to be a barbecue competition. Talented grillers are going to be battling it out to win the title of the ultimate pit bath top. And of course, with any good festival comes music. And there's some fantastic names lined up for the weekend. Got the Aaron and Rosie Band, we've got Tully Wishart. We've got Andrew Wishart of X Factor fame on Saturday at 3pm or Sunday at 4pm. Got Jet Tarmen, and we've got Miss Rosie and the Orange Shombri Band, which is one of Melbourne's favourite bands. I'll be rocking out some great tunes on Saturday from 6pm in the evening. So they'll return on Sunday from 11 as well. Great music there. Bull rides, a giant slide, there's firework. Fireworks. Sunday evening, fire twirling, get this one. Peak racing. And you imagine how cute is that going to be? Oh, yeah. Yeah, and then there's lots of different add-ons. So the ticket price is $30 per person. Now you can get a full weekend pass for $47. Children under 12 are free. And for the grandparents, note that you can get into free on Sunday, so that's a great deal. But you can purchase extra add-ons. There's all sorts of special sort of things happening that you can pay extra for, like, five course degradation dinners. There's an option for vegetarians there as well. There's a native food degradation. So all lots of different add-on activities. Note they don't allow pets into the showgams for this event, and not allergies won't be catered to, so they can't make any guarantees about and strictly no BYOL alcohol. Absolutely, yep. But what a fantastic festival lineup. That one sounds like. Yeah, so if you'd like to contact the people there, add min@smokeonthewater.au. Very easy, yep. Yeah, they've got a great website, smoke on the water, and also look at their social media posts. They've been posting throughout the week all the different storeholders and bits and pieces about the different bits of entertainment happening. So, yeah. Talking about entertainment, our very own entertainment center at Riverlink East Bank has got a great show happening on Sunday afternoon from 5pm till 7.15pm. And it's Nigel Rainard and the Future Factory presenting Pink Floyd's Evolution. So, there's three different parts to this show. So, the first is they pick up with echoes. And that's a 23-minute Pink Floyd extravaganza, recapturing some of the old themes and melody lines from their earlier albums. And there'll also be a bit of a funky organ bass drum segments and stunning guitar solos, the haunting seagulls. That sounds interesting, doesn't it? Yeah. So, it should be a really interesting way to listen to some of that really electronic sounds that Pink Floyd introduced, Chair, back in the day. Is that ever? So, move on to the dark side of the moon. One of the most critically-canned albums of all time. The fourth best-selling album in history, sold over 45 million copies worldwide. So, certainly be a lot of well-known hits off that one. They wrap the show up with shine on you, crazy diamond. It's a very long song. Yeah, and written as a tribute and remembrance to the Pink Floyd-sounding member, Sid Barrett. And, yeah, this was originally attended to be a full-side, long composition from the album, Echoes. But, yeah, this one will be recreated as part of this program at Ruth River Links on Sunday afternoon. So, the ticker price is there, $69.93 to $79.90, and they can be booked through the River Links box office or riverlinksbenius.com.au. That'd be a great one, actually. Yeah, that's a very big word for 10 years. Yeah, great stuff. And then, on Monday, we're flipping into the early part of next week now, because this is a great event to just give a big thing out, too, which is that the Shepherd and Heritage Centre, the fantastic Little Museum complex in the old forest of tall precinct, just opposite the police station there, and they've been doing quite a bit of activity lately, some renovations with new flooring and new domestic space. They've got some beautifully decorated plaster ceiling and lots of fresh paint throughout. So, it's well done to the volunteers. You've been waiting so hard to, yeah, get it all done and bring it back to life, and, yeah, certainly will be a much, yeah, an easier space to get around and to, yeah, look at their displays. But they're also unveiling something brand new to the exhibition, which is the Greater Shepherd and Sports Hall of Fame exhibition, finding a home here in the Shepherd and Museum. Celebrates the great achievements of athletes past and present from our region. And there we go, lots of local sports legends presented through that exhibition as well, who's competed right up to international levels. And, let's say one of the names there, Mr. Brett Lancaster, O.A.M. Exactly, he is going to be there on Monday. How many a couple of guest speakers? I don't feel good as the chair and also an inductee of the Sports Hall of Fame community. And, of course, yeah, Brett Lancaster, former Australian pro cyclist and gold medallist. I mean, how topical at the moment should be having someone in the cycling form a metal working shooting the wagon you impact? Oh, lovely, my goodness, yeah. Brett was one of my kids in here. They're absolutely awesome. Very fantastic. So, of course, yeah, I've been addicted to the Tour de France, I must say, now it's not late in the week. Small hours, something great to hear from him as well. Oh, great to see Brett here. Great to see Brett here. Again, on Monday from 2 p.m., afternoon tea, as well. It's provided, but they do want people to O.A.C.P, so they get an idea on this. So, yeah, I'm sure you can give them a call on 034831 8659, or drop an email, info@shephidanheritage.com.au. Yeah, absolutely great, yep. Yeah, so they have a quick wrap-up of some things to do over the coming days. Awesome weekend coming up, Marie. Fantastic one, great stuff. Yeah, of course it is. Yeah, worries at all. Well, thank you very much. The voices lasted, you've done well. (laughing) Not worries at all. I hope you're improving as you go as the weeks go along, it's only gonna get better, that's for sure. Yeah, that's so good, thank you. Thank you, Marie. Love to talk to you again. Look forward to talking to you next week. So, from us, bye-bye for now. Fantastic. Bye. There's Marie from the visit of this information. Well, pardon me, here comes the game. I'm so good at that. Across our area, it's not uncommon for slow-moving, large, oversized farm machinery to be on the roads. Farmers may be moving their equipment from one paddock to another, or heavy vehicles may be transporting a large machinery around the region. Please be patient when passing these vehicles. Slow down and move to the left of the road to allow them to pass you safely. If you need to overtake, be patient.
