You're listening to a 1 FM podcast. [Music] [Music] We're gonna send them to the bottom. And if they get on, we'll do it again. Chocolate, chocolate, nothing, nothing. Freedom, way to go. Get a real heart, send him down. We're all free, only with the old people. We are the free, old darkness. Freedom, way to go. Get a real heart, send him down. We're all free, only with the old people. We are the free, old darkness. And welcome to the AFL opening bounce. I'm Jason Asplund here in the chair again as we head into another week of football. And yes, that was a Fremantle theme song. It was really hard to play that one. But with a big win over the swans last week in Sydney, I thought they deserved the song. Thank you, Ralph, for some great music over the last couple of hours. As always, good to jump on there after you've been given some tunes for everyone to relax on a Friday afternoon. But footy show goes nowhere without these two boys. Sydney the Bridge, welcome. Yeah, good to be here. How are you, everybody out there in the world? What a great round of footy it was last weekend. You know, like we had four games, one five points, one one point, eleven points and two points. Some exciting footy. I think the footy this year has been really good. We're not getting that backwards stodgy game. We've got a much, seems to be a much more open brand of football we're watching. And I'm quite enjoying the season. I think it's terrific. No problem. Saints are rubbish. Well, that hasn't changed. And that was the two points you talked about. Stats man, Mark Owens, how are you doing this week? How you going boys? Hello listeners. Yeah, playing the Fremantle theme song. What a great win it was in round 16. And well tipped by you, Jason Asplin. You said that the Fremantle Dockers would get them and they did. And now, give Sydney really something to think about. Of course, they're still on top. I've always got plenty to think about stats. But Fremantle of Sydney's third on, well, they're at third at the moment ranked wise. Of course, we're only qualifying for a final series. And Fremantle are looking all right at the moment. And what a big week. Controversial week in the AFL. I had a round seven a day. And what a big game tonight for God as well. National Indigenous Radio Service coverage after we get off there at the MCG between Collingwood and Essendon. 90, 95,000 you think for that one stats? And Jason Welch is down there apparently this evening as well. So he'll be a part of that 90 plus thousand you would think. So who on earth is he going to be tipping for? It's a Hawke supporter. What's he going to do? All Hawke supporters as a real don't like Essendon. Probably don't like Collingwood. The whole league's like that, isn't it? The whole league doesn't like Essendon except Essendon supporters. Hello Ian Maiden who came in and quoted up some carpets for us earlier. Our Essendon supporter but I'm sure he's listening in. But yeah, we don't like your bombers. Sorry. No. But look, they're in awful trouble the bombers. They dropped that game. I don't understand this. Have a look at where they're on the ladder now. They're fourth on the ladder. Right. But look at their run home. They've got a terrific run home. Easy as. Well, a couple of harder games ahead and the last game is hard at but Brisbane. But they don't travel anywhere. Look who they've got to play. They've still got to get four wins out of eight games. Yeah, but you go through who they've got to play. We'll do that later on. That's walking back. I reckon they've got the cruisiest run this year and they have all year. Look, I'll tell you what, bridges. We'll find a nice five minute segment in the show just to bag Essendon. Just for fun, all right? Okay. Sorry Essendon supporters but it's going to happen. Well, I'm not necessarily bagging it. I'm saying that Essendon surely will get into the eight. I don't think they will. I think they'll drop out. I think others will steal their spot. One of those teams that was going to try to is the Brisbane Lions. 11 goals, well, not if they kick like this, I suppose. 11 goals 20, 86 to 11 goals 15, 81. It was, who could kick worse? It was at the Gabba for last Friday night and the Lions got the chocolates. It was a better game than we probably expected, I think. I thought Melbourne were terrific. They were gallant. They fought it out. They got quite well ahead. You know, they got half time now of 30 odd points, 20-something points ahead. Melbourne were terrific. They had a crack. I thought Oliver was awesome. Not Bailey Fritsch, but Fritsch was pretty good. I thought he and Andrews had a terrific battle and he won that over Andrews. Even Petty wasn't as terrible as he has been over the last month. Petty was okay. Took a few marks. If he could have kicked straight though. But if Petty could have kicked straight, that would have been different. Maybe so. But in the end it was the best of them. Pickett was great. He was terrific. And the bit that I liked about Pickett's stats is we've often heard Bridges bag him because the only time he does something is when Melbourne are already coasting and winning. That last week he was the one carried Melbourne. Yeah. He did it on his back. So I thought that was good. I was impressed with him. I was impressed with, as I say, Voni was good too. McDonald and back, and they just wilted in the end. And what they did wrong and what cost him the game Melbourne is they tried to defend that last quarter. And instead of keeping on having to go and getting another couple of goals, they tried to defend that last quarter and it cost him. Yeah. Focus on Pickett was outstanding. Particularly in the first half where four of his five goals came for the game. And he laid six tackles inside forward 50 as well. Clayton Oliver was outstanding. And like you said, I thought he played. He didn't like it in spuds. And he probably played his best game for Melbourne for this year to be honest with the 29 disposals and five clearances. He also laid six tackles. But it was off the back of, I feel, Josh Dunkley for Brisbane that got him right back into the contest with 32 disposals. Took 12 marks at a game in the end with 10 tackles in that rock roving role. And of course, he's an ex bulldog and humor cluggage. 28 disposals, but they're all high efficiency off that wing. And I thought he was really good for Brisbane on the evening. Look, Brisbane controlled the air again at the gabber. I always talk about this. And this is where they got Melbourne in the end. 55 plus marks around the ground uncontested. You just can't allow Brisbane to do that at the gabber. Look, Melbourne's pressure with their tackle pressure was really good. They won the clearances and centre breaks, and they won the contested game. But at the end of the day, I know Brisbane were inaccurate in front of goal, but so were Melbourne. In fact, in the second half, they only kicked two goals. In the second half, Melbourne and their second half really cost them after probably setting up the game at half time with a 23-point lead. I think a big part that changed it was that Melbourne dropped the tag on Locky Neil. Locky Neil had nothing early in the game. He was just totally tagged out of it. And then they dropped the tag, and he still ends up with 29 disposal. Exactly right. That was kind of mentioned there. I think that was really important. I know it says he's only got 230 metres gained, but there are 15 clearances. But he had 15 handballs. That's right. So he's won the ball at the stoppage. And he's distributed out. Yep. And then that's gone to a Dunclea McCluge. Zorko just looks like a 20-year-old running around. He could be winning their best in Ferris. I would have to think. Well, that's been a master stroke going down back, hasn't it? Game metres again, 541, 28 disposals and took nine marks. North Melbourne and the Bulldogs. Nine goals, 60, 11, 11, 77. They got the win, the dogs, but North Melbourne, you know, put it to them at least. I thought North were quite okay. They were serviceable. Zero is definitely a great year for them. Comden, down back. He's been a relevation for him. Charlie Comden. I think he's been just terrific. Tucker Sheeze will again stand out. The downs were larkies and pink and these sort of their forwards didn't have a good day north. Bulldogs, they're doing what they have to do. They just went in. Bond and Polly had a bad week. He had a sore back or whatever and come out best on ground. He's got 157 super coach points. He's a Trojan, isn't he? Awesome player. Richard's lob was good. Now, this is a story I reckon lob. Being put down back, not being any much good up forward, he's gone down back, had a good game. The question is, can he do it this week? Well, I think that some guy, Bridges, said send him to full back or send a half back. You said send him to. And that's where he's gone and it has done, he was terrific. Without though, Jones down there this week, the pressure's going to be on lob to stand up again. Well, it's good for him because if he can do it, then that puts him into a job. Into a job, exactly, because there's no job forward for him at the Bulldogs. Now, that's very true. North, honourable loss, is that the way that they're looking at things now? They don't want to win because draft picks are on the table. I know stats will tell us no team tanks, blah, blah, blah, but if you're going to get the best kid, it should be trying to get the best kid. In 15 years' time, people are still going to be saying, "North Melma, crazy win in that last game, last year, it cost him half-stream." And they'll be talking about that for the next 15 years while Hayley reads stuff. It's so different than wasting the first round draft pick like... Such a same dealie. Yep. We should have Bontonpally. I had Freddie on the phone to me on the way here. Yep. You're saying suck, blah, blah, blah. Imagine if you had Bontonpally and Aaron Norton and all these other guys. It went one pick after. I said, "Yeah, well, other clubs could have picked one pick before us too." So it went up the only silly ones. But we're regularly. It would have been much, much easier for us. Will the Saints be any better with Sylvania's there? You know, does their drafting for them? Well, he does seem to get players in. Like if he was controlling that at Carlton, there was a lot of players came into Carlton. That probably wouldn't fit into a salary cap somehow. So he was able to convince them obviously to come in under certain money to buy into a system. So maybe. But let's put the jury out on that one. Okay. Match of the round was this one. Sydney versus the Dockers. 14, 14, 98, 15, 9, 99, one point winners to the Fremantle Dockers. Well, the chance was to be won after the game. And he missed it. He missed everything. Is everything clean, was it? Who kicked out that last shot stats? I watched it and I don't remember who it was. I didn't watch it. I was... Hang on, I can... We were at the Giants football that day, so... No, I can't tell you because the timeline only registered something useful and out in the full budget. It registered. It will be in there somewhere. I think it might have been clean. I'm not sure. I think it was McLean. Yeah. Well, he wasn't very clean. He tried to kick the leather off it. He's a good kick. He could have made the big goals on the top of the game. He can kick the distance and he tried to kick it way too hard. The Dockers were in front all day. All day. Got back to a draw right at the end. But other than that, they led the whole day, which was a big task for them. One in the coaches box, they had Nat Fife actually tagging Isaac Haney and he kept him to a 20-disposal career load for Haney apparently. And no goals. And that was a part of the reason. And even though it wasn't a hard tag, I think they wanted up in the coaches box and it was a really good coaching effort by free man to facilitate that. Because no one would ever pick up that Nat Fife had been a tagger. But he'd done a superb job, of course, a two-time Brown low medalist. Well, he's been looking for a job at Freo. He hasn't really, he's just been the third wheel in that midfield because he can't play forward. So they've been playing in midfield and he's been the third wheel. But if he can go there and half-shot somebody down and get a few bits himself, that's a good job for him. All right. If the field was down a bit on the day, I really reckon that they had others that they shut down. Haney, as you said, was down, Warner was down, their big players were down on the day. And that was by Freo shutting him out of the game and doing it. Blakey stepped up for them though, 32 disposals, a goal and 750 metres he gained for the team. Blakey's a great player, I think. He's come off half-back really well for them and helped them out there. He's got back into it through their contested game and they sort of really bullied Freo Manel, but it was just all too late in the end. And Freo Manel got them on the outside with uncontested possession and handball in the end. They control the air as well, Freo Manel at the SCG, which is vital if you're going to win at that venue. And they also were really good around the clearances and stoppages throughout the afternoon. Now the second most enjoyable game of the weekend, Suns, 14, 17, 101, Pies, 13, 12, 90, Suns beat the Pies. Well, this one was... I did tip the Pies and I felt an extra pin go in my ankle from Heather's voodoo doll after they lost. And maybe the Pies have lost their aura of winning close games, Pies. Yeah, I think that's a lot of garbage. The wind closed for next week and they'll be back on top. They didn't finish close it out, no. The Suns stood up and kept trying to play. They didn't go into a shell, the Suns. And they got those last two goals, vital to win the game, terrific, well done. And they didn't wilt under the Collingwood pressure. Is that Collingwood losing their aura? Nah, that's a lot of coffee pop, that rubbish. They just weren't quite there on the day. They allowed them too much of a start for us. You know, like Suns were all over until halfway through the third quarter. And then Collingwood got back into it, kicked plenty of goals, right up to it, got back to level or at least ahead. And the Suns finished it up. Well, it's a sword, you live by and die by isn't it? And Collingwood's live by and died by that sword over the last two years. They got away with it and won a premiership last year. But on this occasion, on the weekend, just gone, they lost the game in a tight one. It has to be a concern for them that they are allowing these teams to get that far ahead. If I was a coach, I wouldn't be so focusing on coming home strong. I'd be trying to get them up earlier in the game so they're not giving away these big leads that you have to try and ping down. Well, this is what the coach said in McGray at the press conference. He said, "How often do you want to try and save games?" I mean, he wants to get off to a better start. Sydney have got a similar problem, as well, with slow starts in games as well. So it's interesting. Well, Frejo have been terrible for those first quarters. They barely won a first quarter. And now they've seemed to have cured that. Noah Anderson absolutely smacked them. 39 disposals, eight marks, six clearances. Five tackles, meters, gain 412. They didn't quite have an answer for him. Jack LaCouche just looked really good up forward. They really need to try and keep him at the club because the talk is, he may be leaving the club. Two goals, 39 score involvements. Now, four, Sam Ned Flanders. He's been having a really good year at the Suns. Third, three disposals, six clearances, and meters, gain 357. He's been having a consistent year. And he jagged a goal, as well. So when you come off the back line and manage to score a goal, and that just gives your team that extra jump a momentum. Well, the question then needs to come in. Collingwood don't tag. But do they have someone that can even go to another play to shut them down? And they should have sent somebody to Anderson or Miller or Flanders, and they didn't do any of that. Collingwood, are they big headed and they don't have somebody? That's right. Who do you do to that? Oh, you send Maynard. If you were somebody... If Maynard's busy down back, he would have been on LaCouche's, or someone like that. So he's already got a bigger job. LaCouche's? LaCouche's not a big forward. More would have been... More would have been on Ben King. I doubt it. No, I don't think so. Okay. You could say the same for the Suns in a way. I mean, they did try to tag Daikos and the Goey, but it just sort of worked in a way and it didn't work in a way, because Daikos had 32 disposals and the Goey had 21 disposals, but they did manage to stop. But it did manage to stop start them a little bit throughout the game, as well. There were periods in the game that I felt and I watched the game after I came home from the JBL. There were periods where they did go missing both Daikos and the Goey during that contest. Well, the Suns weren't at home and that keeps their finals hopes alive. They have to be able to win away. All right. We jump to a sponsors break. On the other side, we'll finish out around... What was it, around 16 last week, so there's not many left? Of course, nine to go through because by rounds were over. So little bit more priest stuff to talk about. And Adelaide crows versus the Giants. Well, I tipped the crows in this one, but they did get over the line. 13, 16, 94 to the Giants. 12, 6, 78. And they just did what they needed to do, bridges. They did. One interesting point was kicks 217 each. Okay, that's fine. Handballs crows 132. Giants 170 handballs. That's way too many. Don't you think stats? I broke down actually. It's a good point, Sydney, that they overused the handball. I've found at times this year GWS have been really guilty, especially in the games that they've lost of overusing the handball. It depends on your game style like that. That's a stat that you can look at and go, "Oh, they overused it." But did they overuse it going backwards under pressure and going nowhere? Or were they trying to run the ball through them and the handball was a one, two, three moving through the middle of the ground? You know, it's a stat that you can pull out. You can say, "Oh, yeah, they got 50 more handballs, but why did they have 50 more handballs?" Well, because they overused it in the back half, I watched it. Okay, so they were just handed backwards in going nowhere. The thing with it is, is when Giants are playing well, they use that handball and get the overlap and run on and handball it like that two or three times. When they've got that going, but at the moment it's not working. Yeah. And as a consequence, they're locking themselves into that defensive half and they aren't able to break out of it. Whitfield had plenty of the ball, 41 touches there just casually getting, and most of them were kicks. He wasn't a handball man, he was 27 kicks and 14 handballs, so he didn't follow the team's structure. Yeah, but they won the clearances plus eight, the center breaks plus one, stoppages plus seven, and just looking at the game's soil, they seem to spread run and carry the ball a lot better than GWSU. We know they can do that tsunami and do that as well, but they were well held and they were stopped in the middle of the ground. Oh, yeah, the Adelaide needs. Rocket has pretty even 42 to Giants and 37 to Adelaide, so that wasn't their advantage. Around the midfield, Giants won the midfield area, but they just didn't get it to do enough with it. Free kicks, 17 to Giants and 16 to Adelaide, that's not very often Adelaide lose that one. So, where are the Giants at? That's the question we've got to ask, are they done for the year? They're in the same category as Essendon, and at the moment they're in that what you'd call making up the numbers. Will they make up a number in September? Good question. Well, each of them have, they're still in their own hands. Now, I talked about the second best game of the round being when Collingwood lost. Now, the best game of the round, Geelong, 16, 9, 105, beat the bombers, 9 goals, 6, 60. 45 point winner, definitely the best game of the round because of that. I'm not biased by any chance. Well, it's going to come up here, the free kicks. Chats, free kicks, bombers got 18 and the cats got 15. So, they can't complain they didn't lose that area. Bombers won the hit outs, 59 to 27. Now, there was some debate about this bringing in to Ruckman, the bombers. Did it work? Well, they got the tap outs for it, but they didn't get the result from it. And as a consequence, now they've gone back to one Ruck this week. But it has been dropped, hasn't it? Yeah, it's a bit a slippery day and whatever else. Were two Ruckman an advantage? Well, when you get 57, hit outs to 16, or they got 16, 24 between Daconic and Blitzabs, they've smashed him in the Ruck. Yeah, they didn't, they won the clearances plus eight, the center breaks plus one, not a lot in that, but the stoppage is plus seven. But it was on a sort of dismal night where Geelong controlled the air marking wise, 103 to 79, and on a night like that at the MCG, that's gold. Yeah, you're right. When are you going to talk about these free kicks that were out there? Well, I thought we'd wait actually on that because it's a topic and it's going to take a lot of discussion. I think there's a lot to unpack with it. Right, let's hold that one then. We'll hold the free kicks in. And I guess we can talk about just the one that finished at the end of the game being that deliberate, was it deliberate running through? Point. I say it was a free kick every day of the week. I think the up I wasn't. Yeah, well, I say the umpire was right. He had options. The idea of it is, is if you're under pressure, he wasn't under pressure. No one was in- He was a guy right in his tail? He wasn't but in his tail. They never even went inside the gold square, so he was under no pressure there. Doesn't matter when he picked up the ball he was. He had the opening to run out the other side, and he didn't choose to run out the other side, he chose to run straight through. The umpire, I say is correct, paid a free kick, and I would too. And the confusing part about it all is now the AFL comment said no, it was a wrong decision. Because it was. Is it not if you're inside the nine and you're under perceived pressure, you're allowed to rush it through? Is that the rule? Not perceived pressure as such as it's got to be. You can't just do it on perceived pressure. It's actual pressure. It's actual pressure. But he had a guy on his hammer like, yeah, he burned him off as he ran through because the guy just stopped. And just because the guy is just about to tackle you, and he sees that you're going to run it through for a behind, and he stops and puts his arms out and starts crying for a kick. So there's no pressure there. But it's behind, you can't see that. Oh, give me a break. Well, I thought you got the back of your butt, can't see that bridge. I thought, whether it's right or wrong, give the two Geelong forward players in Dempsey and close a bit of credit. Because they ran in a V-like motion and then they stepped back sideways and created that illusion. But he didn't know that. He didn't. And they did the umpires and they've gone the umpires because I didn't feel that it was a free kick. But it was a great bit of play. And they've obviously practiced that for a moment like that and it worked on the evening. So I thought that that was really well coached. And that's one of the more clever, clever plays that I've seen off the ball in some time. Even despite what Collingwood's done off the ball in the last two or three seasons, I thought that was quite clever. All right, from the, what I think, one of the better games of the round to one of the most boring. St Kilda versus Port Adelaide. Eight, twelve, sixty, eight, fourteen, sixty two. Ross Lyon games are just becoming hard to watch. I'm a Saints fan, I love them. But, geez, it's becoming really, really consistent of low scoring, defensive, go nowhere, mistake-filled games. And then got the ability to bring another team down to their own mistakes level. I'm not sure what Sydney are going to do with it this week. But it just, I don't know. Stats, I'll talk to you about this one first, because we know Bridges is just going to kick him. What do you think of it? Oh, look, I thought they had a go. And we know what Ross Lyon coaching styles are going to be like, don't we? We know what we're in for with them. I mean, at the end of the day, and I've often said it, in your club's history, he's the second most successful coach in your club's history. Don't forget that. We're drawn grand fine all in. It's a game style that nearly won your flag about 14 years ago, and got you to a couple of grand finals as well. So, I think it's just the way he... I thought he'd sort of learned a bit when he first came back to the Saints, offensively. But he's sort of now, and Max King going down is not going to help. First, St. Kilda for the rest of the year. I believe he's now injured for the rest of the season, I do believe. He's done an MCL. Yeah, so that doesn't help the calls, Eva, but... Not that he's been any good. He's been terrible, in fact. Look, at the end of the day, too. Port Adelaide, for whatever reason, seemed to have this superior record over St. Kilda. And always seemed to just get over the line against him. And, look, St. Kilda won the contested game on the evening. They didn't really gain meters, though, from that contested game. Oh, what, 50 pressure was okay. Even their efficiency by foot was okay. They tried hard with the 1%ers. They won that on the evening as well. But they just... Port just smashed him in the clearance of Santa Breggs and stoppages. They didn't improve in that in the third quarter. The Saints did improve around the ball in the third quarter. And that was where the ascendancy came for Saints. They, you know, they did okay. The problem, as you both mentioned, are the mistakes. The misskicks, the miss handballs, the mistakes that Saints are making, you know, like you try and coach out of kids in age 13. You know, these silly, little, try and diggy little kicks that go 10 or 15 meters. That if they are caught, half the time are called play on, whatever, they are a major issue that Saints have. Well, we'll guess you. When we get to unpiring bits about how far is 15 meters? Who knows? I don't pay there that would have been 5 meters. On the evening, I didn't think their efficiency was that bad. Their efficiency was 75%. But it's the basic ones that are really true on them up. You can say, oh, Royal Marshall had a good game because he kicked career three high goals. But Tom Campbell was our main rock and got owned by Jordan Sweet. In fact, it was Sunday afternoon, not evening. Yes. Point that out. It was Sunday lunchtime. Yeah, move on. It was a terrible game to watch both teams. And Saints ended up, they've lost a few close ones this year. They haven't got that down pat. There's a lot of things that they haven't got locked down. And I don't think it bothering them that at this point. The Saints know this year's a write off. Move on. Let's get blood out kids. Get the games into our kids. Pick up another draft pickle too. And the thing and then come again next year. Tigers versus the Blues. It was Sunday afternoon, 10, 10, 70. And the Blues, 2011, 131 at the MCG. It was the Patty Crip Show really, wasn't it, Stats? Yeah, fantastic. It was only 40 disposals, clearances, 14 meters, gained 468. One goal, five marks, eight score involvements for Patty Crip Center. Probably another free voting performance for the Brown Low Medal. Look, I thought Richmond tried hard till half time. Not only, I think two goals down at the half. And then they ended out losing by 61 in the end. I thought Timmy Tarano, he tried with 27 disposals. Great goal. Nine clearances. And Jacob Hopper was the other one. Both formerly GWS players. He tried hard with 25 disposals. But really it was good. Blake Acres, the former St. Kilda and Freo. Docker again on that wing just destroyed it with 33 disposals. He wasn't efficient though. Oh, I made his game 557. Yeah, but when I looked at his scores in our efficiency of scoring, his score was way down. So, around less than 50% of efficiency was him. So, yes, he had the ball and he had the ball a lot, but it went to Richmond far too often. And there are obviously long kicks that went to contest, so that for him to have that. I made his game 557. Had a brilliant game despite what that's because things says. Newmen was scoring. Voldman's for Nick Newman on Harback. Isn't he been a revelation coming across from Sydney. And 28 disposals and 14 marks as well. 706 meters gained. And Sam Wilkes with the 11 score. Involvements by clearances, 10 tackles and 26 disposals was really good. You can say Cripps got the three votes there, but Newman and Welsh were right up there. It would have been a real debate afterwards between the four umpires to see who they gave it. Probably to Cripps mainly because he's so well known and whatever. But I'm not sure that Newman wasn't better. With 14 marks. Like 14 marks, 14 clearances. Newman's got the marks. Patty Cripps has got the clearances. Welsh picked up two goals on top of his stats as well. I think Cripps will still get it because he's a ball in the middle and he noticed. You won't see these two often. You saw it at half time in last year's grand final actually. The clearances were the same, 41h. The centre breaks were the same, 15h. And the stoppages were the same, 26h. And those stats were the same between Collinwood and Brisbane in last year's grand final at half time as well. And then at 4.40pm at Sunday afternoon over at Optus Stadium, there was a train wreck. It was at 4 goals, 11-33, the Eagles to 14 goals, 10-94 Hawks, marching their way towards finals according to Hawks fans. I'm not so sure about that, but they're winning games, Bridges. All you got to do is win games and I think there was a lot of people tipped West Coast in this one. I thought Hawks would do it and they did it fairly comfortable in the end. But it wasn't, I don't know where West Coast are at, the knives are coming out again to Simkin, the coach, there after his head again. And I'm sorry to say it, I think last year they should have pulled the pin on his coaching there. And if they get through this year with him, I'll be surprised. When you look at it in relation to, so they won a premiership in 2018. They beat Collingwood. You got Richmond that had a free time premiership coaching hard week that's moved on. Yeah, Collingwood that had Buckley in 2018, they've moved on since one of flag and yet Simpson's still around. Now I'm not saying he should go. And this is a third season they've been in the doldrum. But I can understand and I listen to a lot of the Western Australian radio through the internet, 6PR. I can sort of understand where some of the supporters are coming from. I listen to the game on ABC, so you get obviously Western Australian commentators. And you've got to be careful with when you're listening to Adelaide commentators and Western Australian commentators because they can sort of have it all doom. So I mean, like for example, for example, they sort of, well, I wouldn't say they got into Harley Reid, but they said Harley Reid didn't have his best game yet. He was their second best disposal winner on the ground on the day. And I actually didn't think he was that bad. So I don't know why they were saying that because, well, he had five tackles, 21 disposals and five score involvements and he's only a kid. So, you know, there are others in that West Coast team that need to take ownership way before Harley Reid's. I thought that was a bit rough on the course, the lead from Tom Gala. But is that where the issue is? Like, okay, Harley Reid's their second best with 21 disposals. He's had two shots at goal. He's gained 300 metres. The only one above him's dug in with 28. Everybody else is basically 20 or below. McGovern's got 20 and honestly, he had five or six of them as marks in the first four minutes of the game because I remember seeing that part. So McGovern had a great first five minutes of the game and then did not much for the rest of it. You've got to turn around to the rest of the team and go, all right, Jaden Hunt, you didn't do enough. You get down there, Tim Kelly, only 15 touches, Tom Brass, 14. Well, Tim's off from Brass, $3 million a year, but he's getting 14 touches and not a real one else. Yeah, that one is their captain, Alan Oscar. Alan, he had a shocker, 25. Brockman, he was another shocker. Darling was a shocker. There's a half a dozen. Crips was another poor player. Waterman wasn't good at all. He got one goal. That was good. Alan would be their captain. Well, he is, Duggan and him a sheriff, I believe. That makes zero sense. One, the guy, his first game for the year, pretty much. But he's only a kid trying to find his way and he hasn't really lit the world on fire yet. He reminds me a lot of Laki from north. Last year, he was reasonable. He was probably their best forward by far last year. But that doesn't make you a captain. But I think it's also a sweetener to keep. We made the comment a little earlier. And you sort of just bagged North Melbourne for winning that game last year. There's only been four number one draw picks that have ever won a premiership. And none of them have ever made the Hall of Fine. Only four have ever won a premiership. Yep. That's amazing that. So, Patroker would be one. So, to make the statement about North Melbourne and saying years time, they'll look back. I would put it to you right now at this minute. Who would you rather be North Melbourne or West Coast? Right at this moment. North Melbourne? Mmm. Absolutely North Melbourne. I think North Melbourne, because they have enough young kids on the board. Whereas the Eagles have got Harley Reid, they've got... So, with that said, how can you both say that in the fullness of time, that West Coast... Because I think Harley Reid will be the better player out of all of that lot. That's okay. Does that equate to a premiership? Probably not in that team, no. If he was at North, that might change things massively if he was at North. Because let's face it, the Eagles have got a list that's too old. I think North can win a premiership without him in due course. The Saints might win a premiership in due course. That doesn't mean we'll be alive for it. West Coast, they mucked around for the first two years in their rebuild. They got serious at it halfway through last year and then ended up with one pick in the top 35 or so. They weren't going... They picked up... Gimby last year as their... Before? Well, he's a good young kid that they've got. They've obviously got Harley Reid. And then you start to get to the guys. They picked up in second, third rounds and things like that. Those ones that are only going to be beat. Like you'd take the North Melbourne kids over those any day. So if I look at the two lists, you say which one would I want to be? Well, I want to be North because North got 10 top 10 draft picks. Eagles have got two. So Eagles there last year had the number one pick. And they never had another one until pick 34 or ended up about pick 39 or something. Right, they should have sold that pick one and got two or three picks in the top 10 or whatever four. Melbourne were offering three top 10 picks for Harley Reid and they didn't take any of them. How does that marry up in the statement that was made 15 minutes ago that you felt that people will be looking back in 15 years from now unfavorably on North Melbourne? How does that marry up? Because... That just loses me. The same as they're looking at St Kilda now going, how would St Kilda be if they'd had the bonds? How good would St Kilda be if they'd had Patraka? But we don't have them. There's half a dozen more. Yeah, we never could pick that guy. So how much difference would that have made to our St Kilda list if we'd had those players? And I'll use that as a direct example because the Bond and Batraka are both proven to be absolute premiership superstars who the Saints should have picked but they chose others. No, they didn't do it by draft position. The late number one draft picks? St Kilda could have been. And I said at the time they should have gone Patraka around nobody listening. And they picked Billings instead of the Bond? I think Josh Callie and Keniglio or something like that were the two that went in front. He might have been vining even that went in front. It was a father-son. Alright, well it was a couple like that that went in front of the Billings pick. But again, wrong decisions. You can look back and you go, "Well, if you've done that, if they have Harvey Reid in years to come, and Harvey Reid is the standout for West Coast, may never win a flag at West Coast, may play there for 15 years and never win a flag, but what would have happened if he'd been at North?" Why can't North win mum without him? They possibly can. They're not saying they can't. That'd be a lot closer to it if you had a Harley Reid. But if you had a Harley Reid three or four years into his AFL career, you've got a bull. You've got a Matt Rowell. You've got to know Anderson. You've got the level he's going to be. I think they're mostly the winning mum with a winning culture. That's what I would say. Well, and not only that, the guys that they did pick were Tasmanians who are going to come out of their initial contract. We don't know that. You can't say that with any clarity. I can guess it. I put my tin foil hat on and my tin foil hat says big paycheck going home. If they're sensing that North Melbourneer in a couple of years' time, likely to win a premiership, I reckon they'll stay. They could choose to do that, but you wouldn't be at that point right now. And it's only going to be another year or so before the Tasmanian start to get off or in contracts out. And remember, if they do it like they did last time, they can break contracts. Yeah. Your ways can anyway. I mean, contracts are... Not worth a break, but they're written on. All right. The latter, the latter. Sydney Swans, 52 points. Blues, 44. So, I saw a thing this week and it went through the teams. And it said Sydney Swans, book your grand final tickets. It said the Blues, you're standing second in line, book them too. And then everybody else started to become making up the numbers. But Freo, big climb up the latter, up the third spot, 38. The bombers dropped one down to 38, it's still 38 points. Then the cats caught Collingwood and poured Adelaide all on nine wins or equal to nine wins. And 36 points. Lions round out the eight. So, we wrote them off bridges, but they're back in with the chip at a chair. We wrote them back in. Why, you're away a couple of weeks ago. We wrote them back in Lions. Well, that's a good thing. They're my flag favourites at the start of the year and where my two cents are sitting on. And we also wrote Hawthorne in there. I think Hawks are still going to get their own two points in there. I've got to read a lot more names before I get to the Hawks, they're bridges. But they are all on the same points. Bulldogs, Giants, Suns, Melbourne, Hawks in 13th, all on 32 points. And then we get to Wenders Cricket season start. The Rebel? Yep, is Adelaide Crows, Saints, Eagles, Richmond and North Melbourne. They're actually asking when cricket season starts for 2026. They're not even worried about this year. They're already looking forward to then. No, we're looking at it. And you're all saying, and you and everybody else are saying this and can't make it. Right, have a look at what you've got for the ability. What do you mean, isn't it a one game from 14th spot? Yes. But have a look at their run. Look at their run home. All right. That's lovely. Because it's an easy run. I'll do that just for you, Bridget. I'm sure you can. You have the ability. I'll do it just for you. All right. And we can look at a few others. We'll do more of this when we get down to the last three or four rounds. I know. But I'm just looking at Essendon and people are saying they can't make the answer. Okay, okay. Essendon have got. They lose to Collingwood tonight. So you're at Collingwood? Yep. I wouldn't say that that's a given. That's a given. No, that's a given. They lose to Melbourne next week. Melbourne put in the effort they put in. I wouldn't say that that's a given. Melbourne are still 50-50. I'm on stolen. Zero on two here, boys. Okay. They then play Adelaide at Marvel Stadium. That's a win. That's a 50-50. Adelaide, you don't know what you're going to get. Then they place in Kilda. Okay. They win that one. Everyone wins that one. Saints could try and spoil the party though, but unlikely. They play the Dockers at the MCG. That's probably a loss. At the moment, Dockers are playing back. Dockers are up and down and they can go walk about on the MCG. So you don't know what you're going to get there. They play the Suns at Marvel. Should win that. So that's two wins I've got them down for. They play the Swans. Get their bite kicked. Even if it's at Melbourne. And they finish off at the Gabba against the Lions. I've got them for St Kilda and Suns as wins for the rest of the year. I've got 50-50 against Collingwood. Yeah, I agree. I've got them 50-50 against Melbourne. Agree. I've got them winning against Adelaide. So you're winning against Saints. Let's put your 250-50s into one win then. Okay. Alright. Then you've got Adelaide wins. Adelaide wins. Saints win. Three. Dockers loss. Suns win. Yep. And then they've got the Swans as a loss. So I've got them there at four wins. And the Lions. Lions as a loss. So I've still got them four wins. So four wins puts them at 13. That's in the finals. Well, is it? I would suggest 13 wins to get you there. It's 13 and a draw it would be. So effectively it's a 14. So yeah, they've still got it. But they've got to win four. Still. Yeah. But that's an easy run. I think that's a run. I think that's a run. It allows them to do that. I still say that's an easy run. Alright. I will let you believe that, Bridges. I will. I will. One topic before we go to a sponsor's break. Statsie throw us something to give us two minutes with before we go to a sponsor's break. Okay. Opening round. Guys, it's going to be back next year. It will be any smarter. There was a bit of a forum that CEOs in Perth. I do believe yesterday. And I do believe that. So last year Melbourne, Colton, Colton, Richmond were the Victorian clubs that took part. Brian Cook, the Colton CEO. But there are all the CEOs. But he's stuck his hand up. But there's ones that won't come out publicly and say it. They're feeling that they should be four different Victorian clubs to go to opening round next season and not Melbourne, Colton, Colton, Richmond. For a couple of reasons. I felt that it's unfair that those four clubs would have to get that staggered start to the year every year. And they feel or Brian Cook and a couple of CEOs feel that it should be shared around amongst the Victorian clubs. So that those four clubs aren't a part of it year in year round. The question is, is it going to be run the same stupidity as well as this year? Why the hell don't you just start the season a whole week early? Why have half a round? Have your Thursday night in the state. Friday night in the state. Have a Wednesday night. Saturday and Sunday afternoon and Saturday night in the state. And then you play the other games on Sunday. Everybody plays on the Monday game if you want. Can do a Monday night. I tend to agree with you on this one. The opening round is coming next year. It's going to be a lock-in and it looks like it's going to be here for seasons to come. So we're going to have to deal with it. What's the fairest way? Exactly that. Everyone plays on that weekend. Give them the marquee games. Absolutely. I'm happy to do that. They should play everyone else Sunday. If you say, all right, so the Melbourne clubs have to take turns. But then what you're penalising the Sydney and Brisbane clubs. Because they've got to do it every year. So you can't say to Melbourne clubs, "Oh, we're going to give you guys a chop out this year. You don't have to do it." But Sydney, you've got to do it every year, mate. You must do it. Doesn't work that way. Brisbane the same. I don't see that that's an advantage. I think it's an advantage playing there. Well, I do because I don't have to travel. No, that doesn't change anything. Why? At some point, they still would have to travel that game or not. That's right. You all get home games. You all get away games. It's the two boys. But at that start of the year, you have to travel there. In the heat. That helps them. But what does really help, or any of those, is having two boys before anybody else is out of buy. And that's what will probably happen next year. Well, it's just crazy. I don't understand it. But why have half of, like, a half round? I don't get the point in it. I agree with you. I do hear what you're both saying. Tell me why. Fact is, we're going to have opening round. But it's coming and staying. They're going to have it in 2025. But I want the one. Melbourne, Colton, Colton, Richmond at a disadvantage or no. No, it makes no difference. They've still got an advantage because they have two boys. I believe they're at more of an advantage because they have two boys. We saw how many coaches go, "Well, yeah, look, we did this right, but we've got next week off." You know, Brisbane were a good example. They were playing like absolute crap for those first couple. And they needed that buy. And I think they won their next games coming back after the buy. But, you know, just, I think it's an advantage to have buys for that like that. Should the two grand finalists have played? Absolutely not. They should be definitely out of it. And that would be the problem. Obviously, this is a part of a formula. Collingwood, should they have played Brisbane in round one to make it a little bit fair? Both played in the grand final. Well, I think it's a big disadvantage to both of the two playing that. They were already a month behind the Sinculers and Bulldogs and whatever else it didn't make finals. So they're at least a month behind them. And then they've got to play a week earlier than them as well. So that's a five-week penalty for grand finalists. Doesn't make sense. I still, and both grand finalists, by the way, start off the year in disastrous fashion and have battled all year to try and get themselves back to some sort of fall. Because of that, probably that reason. But I still ask you stats. Why do we have a half opening round? I grieve you. I don't like it. Are I? I don't like it. You're supposed to have an answer for me, mate. Yeah, I don't like it. I do agree with you. But the fact remains, it's here. However, I like it or not. Where the Sydney likes it a lot, wherever you like it or not. And the question is that we haven't really answered yet. Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond, should they be the four all the time? Or should it be shared around by the Victorian clubs? We know that the two Sydney clubs and the two Brisbane clubs will be a part of it for ever in a day. You know what I think, stats? I don't care. But this is... It's irrelevant. It's okay. Let's have a look at it from Sinculers' point of view. You get an opportunity to be on a really big stage. Opening round of the season. Should you be denied that? Well, we are on the way. We start seasons. Yeah, we should be denied it. But last year, when they're five and first... Hang on, there's something else to take into account here. Because of Gather Round, the season already started a week earlier than it has done for many years. Now, opening round is two weeks earlier than it started three years ago. Mm-hmm. So, you know... Yep, that's right. So, you're talking about those weeks less for Collinwood Brisbane. It's an extra two weeks. Not just one week earlier they're playing. Because Gather Round added a 24th round into the season. Mm-hmm. So, I just... I don't get it. Everyone's saying that the season's too long. Players are struggling. Well, I think Collin and Richard are at a particular disadvantage. Because if they go again, then they're expected to play in the first round of the season. In the first round of the season, when they used to be the traditional opening game, they got to play opening round and they got to travel. And then they got to come back to the MSCG for a round one clash to open up round one. Which means... Which means... On a first day evening. But it means quite all now because they were the opening round. They were the glory opening round. Yeah, but what I was saying, Sydney, is... This is what clubs are saying. They're disadvantaged. Some Victorian clubs are disadvantaged. And that's an example I've given. Because they're slotted into round one to open up that round one game where they traditionally open up the season. Not only that, they're playing it on a first day evening. Mm-hmm. Don't care, that's... I think it's just ridiculous. All right, at sponsor's break, we'll come back and go on with a topic that might actually... Someone might listen to. Opening round is a disaster in my point. Time for bridges to crucify some AFL superstar that he didn't like. Well, it's not that I didn't like. They just didn't perform on the day. You take last week. Oliver got a few spuds last week. He didn't like it very much, so he'd come in and out of Blinder. I think that these players listen to our show and they say, "Oh, I don't want spuds again. I'll get never go." And one of those could be in a Marty. Two weeks ago, kick nine goals. Last week did nothing. This weekend did nothing. Berry for there. So he didn't learn? No, he didn't learn. No party for a Marty? No party for a Marty. Could have a Spud party. Yep, he could. A more could have. Calling with your centre back, he's having a shock of the season. He's way out of form. I think there's reasons for that. Draper out of form. Brown out of form from Giants. Dow for Saints. King for Saints. They didn't get him. One goes to... How could King not get in there? When they moved him up the field, he did okay. They just kept playing it at full forward. Coming out of there, they couldn't give the ball to him in any shape whatsoever. He wasn't good, but he didn't get him. All right. Marty didn't get a metre. What do you got for us then, Bridges? One goes to Zach Bailey from Brisbane. If they think they're going to go a long way without that guy performing for them, then it's just not going to happen for Brisbane because he's one of their goal kickers. He's a terrific kicker goal. He missed a couple of easy ones. He wasn't too bad. He got 25 super coach points in 83 minutes of game time. All right. He'll just stay K out in the ground. Oh, he's a good looking bloke. There's no doubt about that, but his game on the day wasn't much good. Two goes to Marshall from Port Adelaide. 29 super coach points. This is the guy that against North Melbourne a few weeks ago kicked five or seven or so, and he does it regularly. He kicks a few, but then the next week just can't catch it. He's a couple of shots a goal. We're terrible. On the weekend, he gets two and three goes to another Port guy actually. By the way, Darcy Burn Jones won the game for him a few weeks ago and hasn't done a thing since. 22 super coach points. Spent the day 85 minutes on the game. Just can't get his hands on the ball. He's just out of form. He's been dropped a couple of times, and I'm pretty sure that if, I don't know, I've looked, but I'm sure that he'll get dropped again because that was a shock over performance. Now, hang on a minute. It's okay for Max King not to get spuds because he can get ball kicked and he was stuck in the spot. Instead, you give spuds to a guy with Kyle Wilkie, one of the best defenders in the league, punching him in the back of the head for the whole entire game. King actually got 26 super coach points. Wasn't on the ground as long. Are you, is that's? Back me up here, man. Well, they'll probably all come out this week. The three of them and get three round wide vides, each of them. It is possible. A couple. There was other stripe. I could have got him. The only thing you did to look back in this at the end of the year stats and see how many people he actually gave spuds to that did get a brown low vote. The following week. Yeah. Well, no, even on the week they got the spuds. Oh, but that doesn't happen very often. I was going to see it. I could have got it. I'd like to see it for the following week. That would be interesting. Okay. All right. So that changes nothing. Petty's still winning on nine votes. Petty didn't get it because he had a fair game. All right. Superstars. Oh, I lost my piece of paper. Superstars, big list this week. Oliver. Twenty-nine disposals a goal. Didn't like spuds. Do it up. Joshy Dunkley. He, thirty-two disposals. We've got a good game. The Bont is the Bont. He's got to really perform to get superstars because it's not always about disposals in this and the Bont is just the Bont. So he's got to. It wins games. What has he got to do? He didn't get a goal last week at cost him. Luke Ryan was right up there. Twenty-six disposals. But twenty-three of them were kicks. So none of these handball stuff. I'm getting the ball out of there. I thought that was good. Anderson. Thirty-nine. Good game. Isaac Rankin was really stiff. I wanted to give it to him, but I found others. Twenty-seven disposals for him and two goals. Even Rowan Marshall and a losing team. Career high goals, but he didn't win anything in the rock. Moore was good for Hawthorne. But one vote goes to Crips. Forty disposals at goal. Fourteen clearances. But only one. Only one. Two goes to Jason Horne Francis. He doesn't mind. He got three round lows, you reckon, sir? He probably did get three round lows, yes. But like I said, it's about what I reckon who did the most. Horne Francis, too. Again, St Kilda. I thought in that third and fourth quarter, his intensity at the ball. And a few, just the little things that he did won them the game. Which really sucked. I should have given him spuds instead of votes because he beats in Kilda. But he earned them, so well done. And three goes to a guy that didn't win at all. He didn't, didn't win. But he did something out of the box and that was to Cosy Pickett. Five goals up there in Brisbane when Brisbane were under the pump. And like he said. Well, he put Brisbane under the pump. Well, that's right. When he was under the pump in Brisbane, like Melbourne were in trouble. And he took it on himself to do it and kick five goals. So he got three votes. Not because he got 50 touches, but because he actually did something when the pressure was on. Not when the game was already 40 points in front. Well, I can agree with that. I can't say you can't get Bond in there. I just don't understand. Well, no, we're Anderson. Like I said, Horne Francis and Cripp stole their spot. Pickett, he had it one at Friday night. It was already done. He was pretty good. Oh, granted. Like he was done Friday night. It was like he's got three superstars. And I was happy enough in the fact that in Ultra 40, I had him on the bench. So I was able to loophole him. And I ended up winning by 15 points or something. So it worked out pretty good. So when it's Ultra 40, it sounds like a two-place brand. No, the scoring is lint that it's more balanced. So for a goal, you get 20 points instead of four. Six. For just goals worth six. Six points then. And yet the defenders get for spoils. And that's what he said. So it's more balanced out. Not just to be pure. But it's time short. So. They took one look at me and said, "Oh, my God. Get a haircut and get a real job." Now the time you start, you know, you should be getting these. There's only one group that can get haircut this week. It's Foxes. Foxes come and eat in my chooks. They've got to get three. Get that. They're terrible. They come and run out of the pen this morning about nine o'clock to smaller. Yeah. Yeah, he climbed the fence. Took the big rooster and feathers all over the shop and he's gone, "Yep." That's no good. If you had a dog, that would help. Get a dog. Well, it didn't help your pen, did it? No, it did. But it has done for years and they've only got a new month. Anyway, haircut can only go to one group. And I guess you could call them Foxes because they turn up about as often as the Fox does. And you don't know where you're going to find them. And that's got to be the umpiring. I know this is a topic you've got in your bit stats. So I thought we'd haircut this. God knows what is happening with umpiring. Well, according to the chief executive of the AFL, it's the best umpiring we've ever had. He's came out this week and said, "I'm happy with the umpiring. I think it's been great. Everybody should be happy with it." He has watched at least one game of football, hasn't he? Well, I'm not sure. But he did come out and say the umpiring was the best he's seen. I think to haircut the umpiring is the lowest hanging fruit that you could ever have on a haircut segment. I mean, of all the things you could have came up with, you've come up with that. I mean, we've had coaches come out during the week. Okay. We were obviously referring mainly to the Geelong Asset and Game. And there were decisions in that. But the umpiring is the hardest game in the world. I'll look at AFL vampire. It is. And whether it's the umpire's fault or if the AFL's fault for changing the goal post every two seconds. But the classicest one I saw on the weekend was in the Port Adelaide's and Kilda Game in the pocket. And I think it was Horn Francis or that. It kicked the ball. It went about seven metres and was marked. Now, Brad Hill, actually, the umpire was standing where Horn Francis was. And Brad Hill stepped out beside the umpire. As the umpire walked over to line him up and counted on his fingers seven. Like, how has that not 15? Then a minute later, there was one that would have gone 25 and they've gone play on. And it was Port Adelaide that got one won and lost one. I don't know that like you always say stats, it always comes around and it goes around. But the consistency of umpiring is gone. And the one at Essendon that got me was, the forward was going up for the mark and he got hit front on. And smashed his arm as well. Why was that not a freaky? That was an obvious free kick. Well, that happened in the end of the Sincure to Game 2. Right at the end there, Mason Wood got taken out exactly the same way. It was play on you. But these are not real changes. These have been in our game. You can't hit a guy front on since I was a baby. You can't knock-chopped the arms for the last 30 years. Right? These are basic things that umpires should be picking up. The other bit is the fact that the AFL have now given up trying to argue through this. Laura Kane's not going to come out every week now and say, oh, that was a good decision or that wasn't or whatever else. She's given that up. So just giving up on umpires. She should do that because she did. It's like Caroline Wilson said. They're damned if they do and they damned if they don't. If they come out, then they get what Andrew Dillon copped and he's copped it off. Jason now, they're trying to do too much to the umpiring. To her credit, to her credit, she did apologise to Aston and Brad Scott privately and said that they got some decisions wrong. We'll see. That doesn't help you. You know what, boys, we'll be debating this. We'll be long gone. There'll be three people sitting here in 100 years from now, probably in a space station, probably on Mars, when we'll play the Grand Final on Pluto. And we'll be debating about the umpires' decisions then. Do you reckon, Bridges? It's how long is a piece of tree? You can kick the ball from here to the moon. It'll still won't be 15 metres. When it suits them, well, I want to put a tape measure out for some of these 50s. But I don't know how hard that can be. So, really, because if it's a free kick and it's a metre outside the square, well, the lines tell you that. It is the issue, not so much the umpires that they've been told to micro manage all of these little head-high bumps, this, that and the other. The chop of the arms, the front-on bits, there's just too much that they're trying to watch, that they're missing the basics because they're trying to watch all of these other little things. That's why they brought four umpires in. And that's what I was about to say. Well, I think they're better off cutting it back to three. They're better off with one the way they're going. See, the problem I see it is, is at the moment, there's four umpires and they all talk to each other. They say, "You go through, I'll stay, I've got this," or whatever else. Instead of them blowing the whistle, they should call free. And the umpire that has control then says, "Blows his whistle." He gets the information of what the other umpires seen. And it's only one umpire making a decision. The other's advising him. Yeah, that's fine. They get advised from up in the box. They get told. Free kick there. And that's why there's a late whistle every now and again. But that's been told from the box. Because the box is watching those mistakes that we're seeing on TV. Everyone, the commentators are grilling them on TV. So the guy in the box with the little button that says buzz, free kick, is he watching the different game? I don't know. I honestly don't know what's happening. It's got worse in the last few weeks to a point where the whistle goes and people start playing on. But they honestly have no idea which way the free kick went. Half the time. The Rockman don't know who's got it. And they're just assuming if it went my way, well, I can go. If not, I probably won't get 50 because the umpire, he doesn't know who he really paid the free kick too. So he's going to give me a finish. No, I don't want to have a crack about it. The fact that you can't even have a side kick off the side of your boot and goes out and it's called not trying to keep the ball in play. Right? That happens ten times a week. Then you have the guy running into goal and everyone's squealing saying, "Oh, many years under pressure." He deliberately ran through there. Why has he got some leeway and the boundary line guys don't? The next one I want to ask about is these backmen that come up, they can get up on top of the pack and they can double punch a ball straight over the boundary line. Why is that not a free kick? But they're not new rules. There's not a problem with that. The deliberate out of bounds has only come in the last couple of years. That's always going to be baitable. I think for umpires to their defense, and I think you're right, I think you make some really good points Sydney. I think sometimes it's harder to ascertain with all of what's going on to an umpire. It's easy for us to see it's come off the side of the boot and it wasn't deliberate. It's not always easy for the umpire to interpret that. Is that fair? To a point, to a point. But then quite often you can see it's quite clear. Dragging him to the ground as he just throws his foot on that ball. He doesn't have a real lot of control. He has no control yet it's still doesn't try and keep it in play. Right? So that happens quite often. All the guy that's running up and it bounces down, he kicks it off the ground. It goes 35, 40 metres and then rolls out of play. Is that deliberate? I agree with both of you. Those sort of things do need tidying up, but I'm just making the point. No, what should happen there is last touch. The tough last touch will work in South Australia and work in the women's football. We haven't got time for that debate bridges. That's not what we're talking about. That's easy to fix. Last touch. The deliberate punching out of bounds, that's easy to fix. I actually agree with Sydney. Honestly, it'll stop a lot of them. Running through the goals is deliberate easy. Hey, enough. That's not what we're talking about bridges. Yeah, yeah, we are. We're looking for a solution to a problem. But that's not the issue that we've got with the umpire. And the issue we've got with the umpire at the moment is their inconsistency in doing things. And we're trying to solve a problem here with the umpire and Sydney's brought up a very relevant point. The outer bounds one, yes. The punching out of bounds bridges just wants to change the rules again. Don't change the rules, bridges. That's how we got this problem in the bloody first place. No, it's not changing the rule. It's adding to the rule of deliberate outer bounds. If you can get up and double punch it out of bounds, you can mark it. That is changing the rule. Stats, have you got any more quick ones for us? Not really. Other than we might run out of Sharon's. Why? Apparently there's a pay dispute in the Sharon factory. And yeah, and the league's worried that by finals time we might not have enough Sharon's for the final series. $260 or something for a Sharon footy. Surely there's enough money there to pay a guy to make a football. There's plenty of money in this. Well, this is out of the AFL's control by the way. I mean, they're sitting there and having a look at this closely because I don't know, they might have to source these footballs. Well, we used talking to footballs. They were a great football. It was only the fact that Sharon paid the AFL plenty of money to get them to use that. Nothing wrong with a football. Go to that. Shoot me just for it. All right. Okay. Tonight's game, our NIRIS coverage, which we will cover last, is Collingwood versus Essendon at the MCG 740. Let's move through. Some of these games are a bit quicker because we are short on time, like always, because we love to chatter. North Melbourne versus the Suns, 1.45pm. It's at Marvel Stadium. It's two home games in a row for North Melbourne in Melbourne. They won't know what's hit them. And being there, they might actually have a chance. Lineups for that one. Zach Fisher out injured. Colby McCurtcher comes back in. The number two draft pick stats, man. Number two, not number one. Jared Witz injured. Ned Moyle comes in as the Ruckman. Oh, the Stutzman. Yeah, the Suns are $1.30. The Kangaroos of $3.35 and the line is $9.5. And they had a really big win against the Suns. Collingwood against the Suns, I should say, beg your pardon. They really need to back it up away from their home deck. They have. And this is an opportunity for them to do it. They've got to. The Suns have to win this, don't they, Bridges? In theory, yes. They do. North don't really want to win it. Because the problem with North is, if they win, they're on the same points as Richmond and their percentage is better than Richmond's. So this would cost them number one draft pick again. So you've got to go with Suns. I have no confidence in tipping this. Because North have been pretty fair over the last month. So I'm 50, 50 year old, go with Suns. I'm going with the Suns because they beat Collingwood last week. I'm going... I'm a bit with Sydney. I've got no confidence in it. I'm going the Suns, but I've got no confidence in the Suns beating. I'd like to see North get up and win. I really would. Port Adelaide versus Western Bulldogs. And for this one, we've got Josh Sin out injured. Did do him well, the young kid. I think there's hope for him. I like him. Will Lorenz omitted? Jase Burgoyne comes back in from suspension, I think. Evan Francis Evans also comes in. Burgoyne's having a great season. At the Bulldogs, Liam Jones and Cody Waitman out injured. Oscar Baker has a rest with omitted. Nick Cofield, Booker Carmas and Locking McNeil come in. And Rory Lobs still listed in full back stats. Yeah, let's have a look at the yards. The Bulldogs are just the favourites here at dollar 80. The pair of two dollars lying two and a half. Look, they will miss Liam Jones down back. And Tucker Waitman will be missed as well. There was a big argument through the week about whether he ducked or not to get that free kick. Couple no, but that one where he got hit around the back of the hill touched his hair. What a joke, that was. Absolute joke. I don't know, 50/50 on this one. I think I actually went port because they were at home. Is that Adelaide over? Yeah. But I have no confidence in port. And Bulldogs have been ticking along nicely. I like the sort of lob gum down back. That's fine. But they are a little shortish down there. And that does give the opportunities to the port guys. In the Rock, Sweet and English. English will win that. On the ball, Bonton-Pally will be fantastic. So is Horn Francis. People will put down Horn Francis. And he's a number one. And he's a really good football. Has Jordan Swig got something to prove against the dogs? Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah, I still don't think he's up to it. Well, English got owned last week by Zairey. Yeah. So, you know, English is not informed at the moment. Zairey's not slob, though. No, but English got owned by him. Unliberatory butters. 8-point game, really, this. Because both teams fighting, you know, 7th versus 9th on the ladder. Lose this game and it really, really hurts your finals hopes for either team. Well, no, it does. And I don't think that either are really going to make finals. So it was an emotional win by Port Adelaide last week. Well, that emotion sort of bubble over in favour of Bulldogs. Oh, does it spread out on? I don't know how big their party was after that. I think the Port have still got something to play for for that coach. If they want him, then they've got to perform. Comes down to a simple fact of that. Bridges, I'm going for Port. That's man. The dogs who know confidence. The dogs for me were bad just because I don't like Port because they beat St killed last week. So, hey, my tip-ins at a point now where we're picking on who we like and who we don't like. It's not really making. Have you ever done that any differently? About by this stage in the season. Not very often. I'm still picking seriously. No, I've usually too far behind. And this one, two teams that really don't like each other much. Cats versus the Hawks. It's at 4.35 at GMHBA Stadium. And we have got Mark O'Connor omitted. O'Connor omitted, Jie Clark came back in. Got omitted straight away. He was the sub. It's not real crash-hot from the Jilong. If they want the young kids to get a go. Sean Manor, the mature age rookie, comes in. Six last week in the two's. Ollie Henry comes back in. Gary Rowan plays 200 games. Across at the Hawks. Sisily injured. Deer injured. And so is Guinevin. Sheamus Mitchell. Luke Bruce. And Mitch Lewis all come in for the Hawks. Catch a dollar. 55. Hall formed. $2.45. Line 11 and a half. I think this game is going to be won in the Rock. Makes a solid Rockman. Bleak Haves is not. And what chance he out of being a good Rockman passed for these last later years. Dangerfield has been OK since he came back in. Even if he should have been suspended. Will Day's terrific. Moore's terrific. The forward line will be better with Lewis in there. But it's down at the Cateri. The wind down there. It's not the fortress it was, no. And at that point coming back from Western Australia as well. But I'm still going to tip the Hawks. Is Sisily out to Bigger Bridge to get over. I think it's a massive out. I've got a grand final in one of my fantasy leagues this week. And Sisily is one of my defenders. And I'm going to miss him. So you're crying. Poor boy. I'm not really impressed. I do have Jordan Clark to cover him. So it's not like I'm too worried. It's Gary Rowan being the difference for your long since he's come back into the team. Yeah, but you can't rely on him. That's his problem. Give you a good week. Maybe two. Two hundred games this week. Maybe you'll make a big bit of a jump in that. Hawks for me. I'm just unsure on where the cats are really at with their team. And the fact that you bring in your top draft pick. Bring him back for one game. Make him the sub. And then dump his butt the next week. Like where's the confidence for the young bloke in that? Midfield is where it's going to be one. And I think the Hawks, Midfield is burning at the moment. And the cats are spluttering. Okay. And then we have got 7.30. So first of our night games. Giants versus the Blues. A cracker game this one. I know the Giants have not been informed. But Blues are totally on fire. And Giants have got a lot to play for to keep their finals hopes alive. Callum Brown and Max Grozowski. Both omitted Josh Kelly injured and so is Locky Ash. Young local man. And a terrific one last couple of weeks since he'd come back. Joe Fonti, Aaron Cadman, Pete Ling and Darcy Jones come in. Joe Fonti's his first game. Across at the Blues. Pitnet out omitted. George Hewitt omitted. Tom Daconing in. And Matt Cottrell comes in as well. The Blues. The away side of the favourites are $1.60. Giants are $2.35. 8.5. Tough game. Blues could, this is a game that Blues could drop quite easily. Going away. Traveling. You know, there's plenty of excuses. They're ticking along. Okay. They're happy with themselves. And that again can be a problem for sides that are doing really well at this stage of the year. Giants. Fumbling. Bumbling. Lost their way. Lost their momentum. Their forward line stopped functioning. And they are in a world of pain at this stage of the season. Who's going to win this one? I don't know. It's one of those 50/50s. I've gone Carlton mainly because they've been winning and Giants haven't. I think the Blues have settled themselves now. They've taken on some tough teams. They've won those games, lost a couple, but they've won most of the tough games. I think they're settling in for a top two finish on the latter. This is a game where they've got to go through the motions in the right order, but I don't see the Giants challenging them. It was good last week to see Razzle Dazzle Fantasia kick four goals and Loughlin Fogarty for the Blues kicking three, just a different avenue to goal for Carlton. Although I always have a roughy fit around. An orange roughy, if you will, with the orange tsunami. Look at me like that. I'm just going for no rhyme or reason, Sydney. I'm going to pick the Giants only because it is at home. You know, an orange roughy is a beautiful fish to eat. Absolutely. Cracker fish, it's delicious. Well, being Giants at home didn't help us in our carnival on the weekend though. Did it produce? No, it was a great carnival. It was terrific. I had the pleasure of being the master of ceremonies. You could say I was able to get the teams ready and there was ten teams. Except one never turned up. Mixed in. Eight teams. Eight teams, yeah. Eight teams and one didn't turn up. So what did you do? In ten minutes you had to put a whole team together and they went out there and won. It was mighty, it was terrific. Can you be out frowning on the boots, Sid? Oh, mine definitely wouldn't even have caught me into the goal square stats. I'm sorry, I keep winning goal in that one. Yeah, it was a rainy day and whatever, but everyone had a terrific time. All the clubs that were there, I thought it was a lovely fantastic day. I just tipped the oranges, maybe you and me should be cutting them as well. I've kept bridges pretty busy that day, but well done to the South Coast Sharks from down near Geelong. They trumped everybody and were a level above all of us at master's level football. That was good. Yeah, yeah. And Melton came second in the grand final two of them. So well done to them. So we're all, we're all tipped in that one. You're on the giant stage. Yeah, I'll go. That's my roughing fit around the joints. Dockers versus Richmond, it's at up to stadium, 8.10pm. So a later start on Saturday night. Hugh Davies omitted Brennan Walker injured. Brennan Cox finally comes back in. I paid huge for this guy in a draft, a fantasy draft this year to trade him in, and then he got injured the next day. And I haven't seen him on the field since, so it's good to have him in. Dusty Martin is managed. Dusty doesn't do Perth Flights as what we're learning this year. It's twice they've been over there and twice Dusty said I'm staying at the local. How do you like me doing Gold Coast Flights though? That's another story. I'm not sure he looks like he's definitely done at Richmond anyway. Yeah, Noah Cumberland comes in so that will give him the youth in there. The odd stats. The odds are Dockers, $1.06, Richmond and $9 and the line 47 and a half. Not our, do we have any other NRS coverage games this week? No, we're actually on Sunday. We're in round 12 of the go-tape Golden Valley League and sees us at the Kai Recreation Reserve for a Shire Compassity Derby. Kai Abram taking on Rochester. Sounds good. Okay, tune in for that one. Interesting game this one. I'd love to see Richmond get up, but I just can't see him traveling over there and winning free after the win last week will be Cocka Hooper themselves. The midfield still spluttering. Sirong was great early in the year and now he's struggling. Bradshaw was a bit the same, five. He was good last week, yes, but he's so hot and cold. Ash and these guys. Ash kick straight, got three goals last week. Yep. They're the ones that are carrying the team, that sort of thing. When you get all of those little B&C graders having a good day, that's when you can topple the big number one of the league. And that's what happened last week. And they will do it again this week against the poor old Tigers. Okay, I'm on free-o stats you're on. Yeah, I'm on free-o, but watch out for five, he'll tag Taranto this week. Got him in here last week and he'll get Taranto this week. How long a contracted Taranto signed, you know? Four or five years, so he's still at least two or three. Can you see him staying at Richmond? He joined them to win a flag, he didn't win one. He joined too late, he jumped on the winning ship as it sunk. Yeah, I think- Well, I sort of, I'm in your camp a little bit. Look, this is only the outside looking in with that situation. Yeah. He joined because of Hardwick being at the club, and then Hardwick just up-stumb left. Oh, quite true. So he sort of gone there under false pretenses in a way. Yeah. Well, that's on the outside looking in. I mean, I don't know the whole story to it, but I hear what you're saying. There's no room for him. Amen, Hopper. But there's no room for him at the Suns. No. So he's not, can't go there. But could he go and join a Collingwood? Carlton have got an unlimited salary cap. He's got a Collingwood? Could he go to one of those clubs? I've just put, just posted it out there just- Well, I think he's a terrific player. I think he's a better player at Richmond than he ever was at the Giants. But he is a complete level above the whole rest of the Richmond team. More mature alone now. Yeah, but that's right. I thought they overpaid for him at the time, but he's proven to be well worth whatever they paid for him. But he's not going to play a flag in a flag at Richmond. No, I don't think so. No. So, is he going to stay? Just posting that out there, just putting it out there. I think Richmond will want him to stay. Melbourne going to trade a couple of roles he could be on. Now, if we were to look at this at the start of the year, we go, Melbourne win this by a mile. But a few weeks ago, it was Eagles versus Melbourne. And Melbourne got their butt kicked. So Melbourne versus the Eagles at the MCG at home this time, 1.10pm. Petty can't get spuds because he's out injured. Kind and Brown omitted. So's Tomlinson. Jake Melchum, Christian Salem and Jake Bowie come back in. Matt Flynn is injured. Ryan Merrick omitted. Jack Williams and Jack Hutchins come back in. Jayden, 150 games. So, Eagles do the flight with no Rockman again. Melbourne, $1.15. Eagles, $5.50 line, $34.5. And I think those odds will stack up. Melbourne were really good last week, fell away. I haven't written Melbourne off by the way and I didn't last week either. I thought they'd win against Brisbane. I tipped them and they didn't quite, but they were still solid. Their players stood up and that's how gone had a bit of an off week. There's a few didn't play so well, but others stood right up and Oliver and Viney were great. There's plenty there. Still haven't given me something up forward though. Melbourne, I know, I just still can't. If it hadn't have been for the five goals kick by kick picket, then they still would have got well and truly beaten against. That's why he got three Super Star votes. Fair enough. Can he do it on a weekly basis though? Probably not. But they're only... He finally does what you ask him. You ask him to do something when his team's proud. I'm not begging him. I'm begging him out of the rest of Melbourne. Oh, okay, that's right. I was going to say... He's causing your break this week. Pickett was fantastic. I just don't know that they can rely on him getting four or five every week. You know, Els was fantastic and it will be again because you'll get a tagging run off role with Viney. He was always good. He was just ferocious last week. But anyway, your joints... Sorry. Melbourne are going to eat him alive. Eagles are derailed again and Melbourne at home will do the number. I think Melbourne will win. I don't think... I think I'm expecting a response. Like I said, out of the two, Adelaide, Gainesport and Adelaide last week. I'm expecting it... We're going to find out a lot about the Eagles, aren't we? In their relationship with Adam Simpson in this game, I think. A lot's going to revolve around Tim Callion Elliott. Yo, I'm expecting some sort of response. Even though it's at the MCG and the demons play it very well, I think a nice little play here is Melbourne won the 39. I don't think it's going to be the hiding everybody thinks it is. When Eagles beat them, Flynn didn't play, did he? That was before he came back into the side. I think it was still Jack Williams in that word. I think it might have been his first week or second week. No, I don't think he was there. Whatever. I'm tipping the Eagles. There you go. You're tipping the Eagles. I'm tipping the Eagles. Yep. You were just doing that for Clare. Look, I don't think they can win this, but I think they're going to have some former response because they hit right on these group of players. It comes a bit down to coaching here. The Eagles had Melbourne's number. Now, surely Simpson's able to work with that. The question is, is Goodman able to come up with a game plan that undoes the screw-ups they did last time? Because if they just go out thinking they're going to beat them like they did last time, they'll get their butt kicked again. If they lose by 100 boys, is it all over? No. Will we say he changed your coach on Monday? No, I think he's safe. I honestly think he's safe for the year altogether. I know that we normally see coaches have their head in the chopping block, but I think he's safe. I don't think he'll see the year out. He might go a little further. My boy's time. St. Kilda vs. Sydney. A quick train wreck, but five changes for the Saints. Max King, Kamineeti injured, Patty Dowe injured, Riley Bonner injured, Tom Campbell didn't do enough to hold a second-rucks bottle first. So, who comes in? Superdougall Howard, Ryan Burns, Matthias Philippu, Tim Memory and Ben Patton. Ouch, that doesn't help. Cunningham injured for the Swans with Cleary O'Mitted and Robbie Fox and Matt Roberts come into the side. St. Kilda at the outside is $4.10. The Swans are $1.24, line 26.5. Yeah, I can't see the Saints doing the job here either. They don't have a midfield that's up to the quality of the heannies and these sort of guys that they will eat St. Smithfield alive. And without King up there, that might help him a little bit actually. Memory's going to come back in. I love memory. And Philippu had a burner of a weekend, a glass weekend. He's starting to find the footy in the twos. That will help them a bit. Doesn't help, though, bringing in the likes of Ben Patton and Ryan Burns. They're not going to ever make it as for footballers. I don't see why the Saints should be bringing that quality of play in. Bringing these kids again that you tried early in the year, even if they're not much good, get the games into them there at the top level. That's where St. Kilda should be going. Who's Max Hall? Don't know where he is, but he's listed as one of our emergencies. So they're obviously getting to the bottom of the list. Zack Jones, would you put Jack Jones in? No, Zack Jones. Ryan Burns? Yes. He's been in and out all year. He gets one game, he all gets the sub and then gets dumped again. He hasn't had any consistency. How can Brad Crouch not be in this team? I don't understand it either. Did, you know, he run over Ross Lyon's dog or something like, you know, you've got five out that are injured, a few of them are midfielders, and you don't bring in the guy that won the most contested ball for you last year. I've got the answer. He went for the same role in the Uber. And he didn't like it. Fair enough. Okay, so... Sydney will win this... I'm tipping the Saints because they always do, but... What do you think of Ross Lyon and the Uber? Do you reckon he's got a career in acting? Ross Lyon, as long as he's playing defense, he'll be fine. And so, is that your tip in the Saints? No, I'm going to sit in one to 39. But it's at Docklands. And I know St. Kilda got a lot of outs, including Max King. I'm expecting this to be a bit of a scrap blow. I reckon St. Kilda could bring Sydney down to their level, and I reckon winhagar might tag Haney. Well, someone's got to tag Haney or... But do you tag Haney? Do you tag Warner? Do you tag Gilden? Haney. Haney, you reckon? All right. Brisbane's last game of the round is Lyon's versus Adelaide. It's going to be an interesting one because in those couple of grand finals, I've got in supercoachs there this week. Quite both of us have got quite a few of these guys, so... Tex Walker needs to fire, Zorco needs to fire. But Dara Joyce has been omitted. Jack Payne takes his spot back in the back line. Adelaide will Hamill out injured Brody Smith, comes in. Sam Berry and the local legend, Josh Richelli, both play their 50 games for the crows. The Lyon's are $1.22, the Crows are $4.30, Lyon 26.5. Well, good last week, Crows had a nice win and whatever, and that's where it finishes the game for them, unfortunately. McEnany's found a bit of form, doing okay. Rain has been really good for Brisbane. The hipwood and Dannerher, as much as they can be awful, they can be really good too. Their good is really good, and they have been really good in the last few weeks since the buy. They've sorted their forward line out Brisbane, as we've said over the last couple of weeks, and it's working. Keep doing it, don't change anything Brisbane, just keep winning these games and secure yourself that top eight position. All right, let's move on then to... So we're all on Brisbane? Yeah, they'll bring out the Triple M Top 100, and it'll sound like a disco for four quarters, and they'll do what they'll do, they'll win it the gabber. I do want to know how Joey Dannerher ended up with Frozen as his theme song. That one's really got me. I'm not sure whether he did it for his kid, or I don't know what, but that one's got me. Collingwood vs. Acid, and in 31 minutes time, and in about two of the three of those minutes, we're going to jump to the coverage of that. By McCreary, out injured, so's Noble. Lock on Sullivan, omitted. Charlie Dean, locking shilts, and Ned Long come in. Ned Long's first game for the Pies, and he's going to be the sub, so I don't know who he is, but when you've got to name Long in AFL, you're going to have to perform because you've got a lot of history behind you. Nate Caddy, sorry, Dyson Heppel, out-managed. Goldstein, we'll call it dumped. Jay Menz, he's omitted. Nate Caddy and Dylan Shiel and Jake Kelly come in for the bombers. Nick Hines, although he's been pretty good, he's going to play as the sub. Collingwood, taking on Acid, and it's our National Indigenous Radio Service game. Our call is Barry Denier, and Chris Johnson, the expert commentators, Robbie Amatt, and of course Chris Egan-Cheppenin's very own for Collingwood taking on Acid, and when we get off air this evening, the whole of Melbourne will be there tonight, including Jason Welch, who's down there currently, and of course the odds. Collingwood are the favourites, but they're a drifting favourite, $60. The bombers are $2.35, line 9.5. As we said earlier, this is a 50/50 game. Normally you would think Collingwood would win this fairly easily, but they're spluttering a bit. They've got injuries which I'm concerned at, and if you look at the replacems there, Charlie Dean, yeah, Lucky Shilts has been better as the season wore on, but still only just a serviceable player. Ned Long, we don't know anything about, so I'm concerned that the fact that they keep topping up with new players and the ones they got back in are really just not found form yet. They're 50/50 at best. Then we have a look at Essendon. Well, they'll miss Hepel because he's been pretty solid. They'll miss Goldstein because he's a better, much better Ruckman than what Draper is. Midfield to go in Dacos, two good players. Caldwell Merritt, two good players. Happy with those. Durham is another. He's a very good little player, isn't he, from Seymour? I like the way he goes about it. I love the run. He brings out of those when he does break the midfield. I like that. forwards. Look, Peter Wright hasn't found any form. Has he? He struggled a bit. Has any. Yeah, I'm not sure why they keep playing him there. I think that he's one that either should have a run in the twos for a few weeks to find some form, or put him in the Ruck, put him in the center half back, do whatever clubs should do with their forwards that are misfiring, that are just not getting their hands on the ball. He's down there, he's stagnating, that it just isn't getting the opportunities and he feels out of place. So give him another game. Put him on the wing even for a few weeks. He may not be the best wingman around, but he will at least get some of the ball. He will at least get involved in the play and find a bit of that form. And then when you put him back to forward he becomes that 8 or 10, 2 metre Peter. That's what you want. But leaving him at forward is not helping. And again, he's got somebody in Darcy Moore who's not having a great season either. There's issues down back for... That said earlier, you said you had a reason for Darcy Moore. What was your story? I think what's going on with Darcy Moore at the moment, he's trying to play a slightly different role. He's trying to take that place of Murphy down back. Oh, Mr Murphy. And it's not quite working. Oh, you could say that. He just looks out of whack to me. He looks like, to me, he looks like he's got a premiership hangover. That's the way he looks to me. He looks blasey. And when he does go for it, it's like, I'm a Superman, I can go and do this, but he's not finding he's not. He's running off his man and he's not impacting the contest that he's trying to go to. Like I said, I think he's in a slightly different role now with Murphy out. Murphy was in that side, I think he'd be seeing a completely different Darcy Moore. Well, then this is a coaching issue. The coach has to then... Exactly. I agree. If that's the reason, then the coach has to fix it. Put him back to his old role, find a better role for him or whatever, but that's costing you on a regular basis. Penwick, he's back a couple of weeks ago. That's going to help young Josh Dacos. He pulled up soil through the week. He's putting the term. I'm not sure he'll play. If he does, will it be hampered? I'm not sure. These are the things that are in a sanctimonie nose. I'm going to go with Collingwood, but I have no real confidence who's going to win this one. Sydney, I noticed that Nate Caddie's back in the side. There was a lot of criticism that he was out of the side. A lot of asset and supporters ringing up SCN Saturday night around Nate Caddie. How do you see these impact this evening? Well, look, is it his fourth or fifth game? It's irrelevant what he does, Stets. They just have to get him on the ground. They just have to keep giving him games. Whether he plays well or doesn't play well, is he relevant? What is relevant is that he's starting to get and he's got to feel comfortable at that role. That he's given. The criticism fair? Yes, the criticism was fair. He should have been still in the team because what I'm just saying here is he's a kid. If you're going to give him a chance, then give him a proper chance. Don't give him one week and then drop him and bring him back in and drop him and whatever. That's just screws with the head. If you're going to give a kid a chance, give him four, say like you're in four weeks, five weeks. Show me what you've got. The end of four or five weeks, if he hasn't shown you much, then you say right, son, go back to the twos and have another run around and we'll bring you back again. Can you understand in your right, he's still a very young kid in the game? Will the coaching staff try and just look after him and maybe give him a weak spell? No, I think they went out last week thinking that they wanted to win this game and he's only kids that we can drop him out. That's how the coaching bench looked at it. It's not the right way to go with a decent kid. That's what your callers were ringing in saying. Give him a chance, leave him there, let him prove him. They were rapeable on SCN. I agree with them. All right, boys. So, we're Collingwood, we're Essendon. Collingwood. Collingwood. Draw. Draw. That wouldn't surprise me. What? Possible. Could Collingwood have a third draw in a year? Don't that that's ever happened? I don't know. I think we're on record pace already, haven't we? Of course, Anzac Day was a draw. A draw for the second time in that clash's history. So, draw for Statsman. He's stuck with one leg either side of the fence and it's a strong fence holding him up. So, all right, boys, thank you very much.
