- You're listening to a one FM podcast. - Waiting on the other end of the telephone nine. - Simple, he's definitely not a redneck girl. Here's Marie from the Visitors Information Center. Good afternoon. - Hi, Jenny. Hi to the listeners. - How are you this afternoon? - Yeah, I'm good, thanks. How are you? - Yeah, definitely. Not a redneck girl like that song, that's for sure. (laughing) No worries. Hey, we got an awesome looking weekend. Arch Barker. - Yeah. - Oh, this is gonna be certainly, yeah. Lots of fun and interest at the Riverlink's West Side Center tonight. - Absolutely. - It's a bit of a play in this one. - Yeah, he's got a good tool. Someone got into trouble a little while ago if he showed us for sure. - It's found a new warning for what I was interested in. - Yep. - Attending he showed. - Absolutely. - But this one's gonna be a good one. It's the mind field. We don't have to come there, the mind field. All of our reality. What does it exist in our minds? So, he's gonna look at some of the like big questions. Why are we here? Are we alone in the universe? Why does it hurt when we peak? - Yep, exactly. - You're laughing, you'll win. So, anyway, that one is gonna be, yeah, something that will certainly, I guess, inspire you and set you up for the weekend. Lots to think about. I would imagine once you've, yeah. Heard Arch Barker's been on all those big questions of life. - Yeah, exactly, yeah. - Yeah, so, Riverlink's Westside tickets to the box office at Riverlink's of course. And they are $49.90 through to $54.90. So, good value to have a, yeah, a well-known Australian A-listier performer. - Yeah. - Coming to our very own backyard in Maripa. - Absolutely, and I like the little warning you get there and saying no, babes in arms permitted. - Yep, 15 years and over is really the age appropriate for that one. - Yeah, I know we're thinking that with some lady who had a little babes making a little noise or something, yeah. - Yeah, and then, you know, if you get confused with Jerry Finesall, he's been going through this week. - Yeah, yeah, like there. - But anyway, like there. Yeah, but then, tomorrow night, Eastbank is the venue for Riverlink and it's a fantastic show with the Fleetwood pack, standing up. I grew up a very passionate Fleetwood Max fans who got together, musicians in their own rush, but they're going to feature lots of D-kids from Fleetwood Max, of course. - Yeah, like the way they play on the words, the Fleetwood pack, it's very clever. - Yeah, yeah, it's very clever. - Yeah, so they pride themselves on real attention to detail and doing great sort of justice and representation of the original Fleetwood Max, of course. - Yep. - They've transcribed everything notes and notes, so the melodies will be exactly as you hear them on Fleetwood Max's true recordings. Harmony's as well, will be right where they belong, and yeah, also the drum picks will be very, very familiar to your Fleetwood Max fan, so definitely a great show to get along to costumes, lights, terrific musicianship. Yeah, there'll be a lot of magic on stage, tomorrow night at Eastbank, I'm sure, so. - Yeah, I reckon. - Get along to Riverlink, get your tickets booked in, and it kicks off at 7.30 at the Eastbank Center in Wellford Street, and the price range is there from $45 to $59, so. - Exactly. - You want to contact the box office? So, three, five, eight, three, two, nine, five, double one. Easy. - Correct. - Yeah. Now, what's it got playing with balloons? - Yeah, I did a thought on some days. So, activities in the park are heading indoors, because, you know, it's winter time. Wives move, really. They're going out to the Maripna Education and Activity Center, otherwise known as MEAC. And that is going to be a fantastic after, well, morning into the afternoon, 10 till three. So, rock up any time between those hours and have a bit of balloon play. - Yeah. - Yeah, you can just have great fun with all sorts of things to do with balloons, and game of keep you up here. - Yep, fun. - Keep that balloon up in you. - Makes the balloon animals as well. Sorry, just yeah, some of the things that you can do, but I'm sure it will be a great, happy occasion to get along there. And yeah, thanks to the Healthy Communities team who are putting that one on, and it's free on Sunday. - Exactly, and if you've got any questions, give them a yell on five, eight, three, two, nine, seven, zero, zero. Easy. - That's fun. - Be a great one, aren't we? - Also on Sunday, heading back into the Riverlink's East Bank Center, and in the Riverlink's Studio section there, is a fantastic event happening. It's the minimart art fair. So it's a full day from 10 to four of all sorts of things to do with art. So there's lots of workshops by local artists, there'll be talks, and there's all sorts of family fun, as well as a huge array of local artists stalled over two floors of the Riverlink's Studio. So yeah, for anyone and everyone, there will be a some way to get involved in the creative arts this Sunday here in Egypt. And it's free entry to the fair, and some of the activities are free as well. Some of the workshops, you will have to pay a fee and advisable to book a spot in a head, if you can, at minimartship with 1P. - Yep. - Home. So I had a look at the lineup. There's things like Gumbly Fast, Nature Buddies Workshop. There's the Waste Not Workshop. Making bad art. That one sounds interesting, another workshop. And then some watercolor workshops, painting eucalyptus, or fun fungi as well in the afternoon. So I'm certainly liking the sound of those workshops. - Great, and I like the idea of the Waste Not One. - Yeah. - We have a lot of fun in that because our Waste Not is old motorcycle helmets. - Yeah. - Really, really, really fun. - We've got some absolutely amazing hanging baskets that we're all motorcycle helmets. - Yeah, that's great. Come on, then, you should be going along and exhibiting your wonderful piece of work. - Yeah, the lovely cycle. - Wonderful piece of work. - Wonderful piece of work. - Yeah, wonderful piece of work. (laughing) - So, and there's you. Gumbly libraries are gonna be there, doing special kids activities. The Gumbly Riders group will be there. It's a creative riding showcase, and running some workshops as well. There's a poetry slam. There's an also talk double feature and the cultural activities with Shepherd and Culture Kitchen as well. It is a full-on, fantastic sounding day, so definitely get along if you can on Sunday to the links in Wellford Street from 10 to 4. If you want to know more, just look up the website minimartchet with 1p.com. - Absolutely awesome, awesome. - And now as part of that too, there is an art exhibition, and it's opening tonight at the East Bank Foyer, and we'll be continuing for two weeks. - All right, yeah. - So, you can't get along on Sunday, but you would like to see the exhibition, and that is still certainly going to be available. You can just wander in through River Links' main Foyer, and yeah, have a look at all those wonderful local artists, lots of names that are well-known around our region. It's amazing, the amount of Creole. - Oh yeah. - That we have in this region, so do get it. - That's so lovely, right, yeah. - I appreciate and enjoy. And of course, school holidays are kicking off. - Yep. - Marish, lots of holiday fun for everyone. That's areas, of course, from the very friendly staff and volunteers at the Visitor Center. - Yes, you are. - We're at the fan building on the ground floor at Victoria Park Lake, and where I've been every day, including Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. So you can drop in and see us as well. - Yeah, please do drop in and see us. I did the other day and I had a look at the T-Rex, and I got a couple of wonderful photos. - I heard that you had the T-Rex. - Awesome, I loved it, yeah. - T-Rex is left to the building. - Yes, unfortunately. - Eventually, venture away on Tuesday last week, but there is rest assured still things for the kids to do. - No worries, yeah. - We're getting up a very special bird themed activity. - Oh, well, that's it. - Sounds great. - After the school holidays, so yeah, definitely come in, pick up a bird bingo sheet. Farmers may be moving their equipment from one paddock to another, or heavy vehicles may be transporting large machinery around the region. Please be patient when passing these vehicles. Slow down and move to the left of the road to allow them to pass you safely. If you need to overtake, be patient. Wait until you have a good, clear view of the road ahead and when it's safe, proceed with caution.
