Welcome to the Go TAFE Golden Valley Football League with Martha Statsman Owens. Welcome to the Super Saturday Sports Show here at 1 FM 98.5 Live and Local Sport. You are in the course. The Go TAFE Golden Valley League show round 11 action today of 18 rounds of course and then we're in finals. We're at Deakin Reserve today for the big game. Of course it is Shepard and taking on Marutna Live at Deakin. The game gets underway at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The broadcast will begin at 1.30. Your call team today will be pulled into Jericho, calling and hosting Jackson Saunders, Father Jackson Saunders, the other caller this afternoon. Jack Brophy and special comments. James Vanley doing the stats. I'll be helping out in the pre-match and probably at half time with some analysis there and Adam Watkins technically this afternoon to bring us the action. It's also on the new digital platform streamer as well and it's very easy to sign up. I signed up so I can sign up, I can tell you anybody can. You can't get the Deakin Reserve and you want to see the action today and of course they're taking the 1 FM call team this afternoon. Well the record looks like this Marutna are going for five straight against Shepard and they've won of course the last six encounters. There's one four of them but Shepard and last two wins actually happened in 2021 and they won by a point on both occasions. Of course their last win against Marutna was actually at Deakin in round 12 and that was on the 26th of June. So we're looking at around just under three years ago now and that was by a point like I said and they won in 2021 early in the year at Marutna under the launch. You might recall in round two by a point a very interesting game on that occasion. Remember Anthony Anchenko at full forward that night and was really really good. And of course Mattie Dean picked him up there in that game. I recall that vividly because I arrived in front of me when I sort of drove into the grounds and wasn't quite involved with Marutna then I sort of came on the scene in 2022. Well parts of 2021 I was there. So when we have a look at it, Shepard and had their first loss last week of course on the portal of Murray and they'll be stilled for today no doubt about that. So they're second currently Shepard and with the nine and one record Marutna a fourth with the seven and two record. That a really good win at the Marutna Recreation Reserve against Yeroa last week of course the co-couges Ted Linden who I believe is not playing today and Xavier Stevenson for SHEP. Of course by 2018, Premish plays as well have been doing a really good job at Deakin Reserve this year. Of course the boys from Harold Street will be really looking to you know get one back on Marutna fair to say because Marutna won the last four against him. Liam Doo good's been having a really good year, kick two goals last week of course, one a flag at Golden Square in 2023 and he's a Shepard in 2018, Premish player of course. I believe Trent Herbert is not playing today, not named at this stage the Katanga coach so that'll be a big outfall him but I think the really big clash of the afternoon, the game will be in the game will be between Ash Holland and Kiel and Betts and in Rock of course Ash Holland took on Kane Morris on the portal of Murray last week and Kiel and Betts and of course these numbers are with thanks to GB data page 22 of Thursday's Shepard and Hughes June 20 so I'm thanking the team from the Shepard and Hughes for that the disposals in the Aurora game he had 38 disposals Kiel and Betts and 21 clearances contested possession 25 score involvement seven intercept positions five, his efficiency was at 84% disposal efficiency as well and Ash Holland we know he's a 2018 Premish player at the club, he's won Premishhips at Weiai, he's won the Piers medal in the Bacala League as well and he's just a gun rutman and I still think as it stands right now with a lot of football to play that he is the rutman of the competition right now Ash Holland the Kiel and Betts and the young gun and it'll be a ripping clash the afternoon, Murray is of course under John Lamont and Kiel and Betts and Kobe Eisels been having a really good year, Murray from the juniors been hitting the scoreboard that Murray haven't named their squad yet Daniel Johnston didn't play last week had a week of suspension he's on Coburgs way at Foley so I'm not sure he's playing today and not but he's second ranked in the league currently for goals on 32 for the year and Angus Hanran of course the brother of Hawthorne's Ollie Hanran has been having a cracking year hitting the scoreboard as well I thought he was outstanding last week and he's been on Port Melbourne's VFL list in 2023 as well I mean some say that he was actually better than Ollie but Ollie was just in the right place at the right time to get I think 20 or so games at the Hawks in the early noughties Gee who to go for I suppose look Shepard and gonna really steal themselves really hard to be at Deakin I'll stay out of it that's weak I know but uh look I'm just be uh hoping we're rooting to win but gee Shepard and what a great season they've had it's just been a terrific season didn't see this coming that they'd be even 9-1 and sitting in second spot on the ladder I sort of thought they might knock on the door of finals but I sort of erred on the on the other side that they probably wouldn't make finals so what a great effort by the Shepard and footy club. Of course they've gotten some of those 2018 premiership players back like Luke Smith and company as well. We'll go on to Seymour and Mansfield this game will be on 103.9 Seymour with them if you're interested near a Seymour or Mansfield fan this afternoon of course Seymour coach Ben Davey scratching his head I suppose I mean a lot of pundits had him top three including me at the start of the year Lewis Loubeck is a young gun coming through for Seymour. He kicked five goals last week for them in their win over United that was at Deakin to take his telly to 13 for the season and Riley Mason he kicked three goals last week as well who is on 30 goals this season of course former Broadford Junior and has played for the interleague for GV to last two seasons as well Mansfield. Ben Christopher still not named not that I've noticed I'll just recheck that because these sides can change a lot from when I've checked them yesterday. Benny Christopher is definitely not in the side currently and hasn't been since about round six or seven and I think that might have really cost him last week although I didn't cost them the week before but against Rochi at Mansfield Rochi won by 40 points and he is there leading goal kicker of last season and this season as well Jack Hutchins is of course the coach of Mansfield of course played at the suns the Gold Coast suns eighties between 2011 and four day 19 games there equal seven for spoils ranked third in the competition last season and that was thanks to GV data out of the McPherson media book that you can find that in stat in the front pages of your McPherson media book great source of information Billy Hogan of course has come to the club in 2023 from North Heidelberg to Mansfield he's a classy midfielder who I'll get to see play I've only seen some highlight wheels of him playing he's a bit of an excitement machine midfielder that can kick goals he's kicked 20 goals this season already even without Benny Christopher and just the way Seymour are tracking this season Mansfield have been alright before that lost to Rochester so I'll tentively go for Mansfield it's not going to surprise me to see Seymour at home get them and make it three and seven for the year but I think Mansfield just on recent form when I got beat last week and I know Seymour had a win so that sounds a little bit odd but in the in the encompassing last month I'll just go for Mansfield vanilla in 11th spot with the one win eight losses and a draw take on Tatura with the one win this season that's at the vanilla show grounds the coach Jared White hasn't been named he may play but hasn't been named in the list I saw yesterday so he's been having a really good season think being playing more upfield and gaining a lot of possessions of course we know he played a Carlton and North Melbourne 244 gains where he kicked 377 goals Nicholas Brazil he was really good last week kick four goals and of course that was a really good effort in losing side vanilla of course four goals of the seven to Nicholas Brazil who's played out at Marambena and Colatin as well as played at vanilla or blacks too and was an under 18 2015 premiership player at vanilla against the Chuka Christopher Welch he's back in the side he's didn't play for a couple of weeks and he's back in now and they really would have missed him he's just a gun elite midfielder of the competition captain these days of course he was another one you might recall in that under 18 premiership at vanilla in 2015 Tatura on the other hand with the one win this season had been injury riddle under Paul Barnard of course he played in the grand final president in 2000 you might recall he kicked four goals on that occasion originally from East Perth Andrew Subarella the midfield has been hitting the scoreboard kick two goals last week he's a coy player formerly but has played out it like windery and Mitchie Elliott has always in that midfield had a good year he's hit the scoreboard as well kicking two goals last week as did Andrew Subarella Tatura junior that's come through the ranks there Jeez an interesting little clash isn't it Jared Wade had have been named then I'm just going to check on the list right now to just make sure he's number 30 Jared Wade and no he's not in the list currently I mean like I say that could change I've been caught out before I mean the official list the endless sort of coming out at midday so without him playing I think that could get them today but interesting times not going to surprise me to say but now we'll chalk up their second win of the season though let's have a look at Echuca taking on Kyabram of course Ducharra can pass me Darby of course it's the rematch of the grand final from last year isn't it and of course Echuca nine and one record sit on top Kyra in six with the six and four record of course Echuca's Jack Evans has been having an absolute cracking year kickball goals of course he's represented the R&M well against the R&M he's represented the GV the last two seasons against the R&M two-time premiership player at the club now Echuca that is a course Jellong VFL listed at certain stages as well just an absolute gun role he's been kickball goals along with Jack Evans last week that was in that big win over Shepherd and by 70 points on the port of the Murray and of course Riley Smith is also a two-time premiership player that's been at the GV the last two seasons against the R&M as well so Andrew Walker and Simon Maddox just going around nicely Echuca on top the nine and one record currently we know that they're going for three premiership center row for the first time in their history and of course we'll have a look at the coy list and I do know that there's no cane herbert today at this stage four Kyabram of course co-coach with Corey Carver so that could change like I say but the list I've got currently he's not playing like his brother Trent at Shep and of course we know he's a two-time McNamara medalist but Anthony Deeper Squally what a great year he's having come through the kai junior program and of course in the absence of of course Mueller and Pettifer is really stepped up in season 2024 ranked one in the competition 43 goals kick four goals last week in their big win over vanilla by 51 points at the kai rec of course William Ward up from the reserves he kicked four goals last week as well just give him a bit of a shout out there as well and I think he's playing again today he actually is so that's great to see a player up in the reserves doing well at senior level you would think Echuca would get coy although these are always quirky games and yeah anything could happen but I just think Echuca today would be too strong and would go in his favorites against coy hard side to beat they coy on the best of occasions you rower take on you knighted you rower in seven spot the five and five record you knighted you're in ten spot the one eight and one record so one win eight losses in a draw set memorial oval where they sell the best hot dogs if you are going over there and you've never had a hot dog at memorial oval do yourself a favor because they're absolutely cracking have their own dedicated hot dog stand you cannot miss it of course Ryan Pendelbury is their coach defender he's been on various their foul lists including Collingwood of course brother Scott uh Jack McCurnan kicked three goals last week he was in their losing 2022 grand final side at your rower of course a year rower junior that's coming through their program kicking through goals in that lost to Marookna last week of the 10 wasn't too bad and and Will Hayes isn't playing today but JD Hayes is and I believe stand to be corrected I think it's JD Hayes's second game of the season in the season he hadn't been playing reserves I know that and I'll just confirm that for you it will be second senior game today and he's played four reserve games this season JD Hayes of course for your rower former coach of course Duane Houston the coach of your knighted caden apia it's been having good year form in root near junior up and talk about him on a weekly basis kickball goals last week in that lost to Seymour Deakin reserve they went down by 32 points kick 22 goals the season caden apia is having a cracking year Jack McCartney uh he kicked the goal last week uh former almond junior and united junior is a under 16 best and fairest winner at united back at the club in 2024 Jack McCartney uh we were goal last week when thinking your rower should bounce back but what I will say that united haven't been easy to get over in recent weeks and they're defying that one win uh sorta scenario from their output this season so you rowed want to watch out they're quick united uh I did like their forward set up a couple of weeks ago against marutina they run spread and carry really well and look you think your rower at home but gee they wouldn't want to be asleep on the job you row because united might catch them napping but your role for mine the last game to look at is at moon able and it is of course rodchester with the eight wings in third spot up against the swans in ace spot the three wings uh of course Mitchell Ferrella he's the one I want to talk about for rochi I've got him on 17 votes currently for lamorous and metal runner up in the kangaroo flat best embarrassed in 2023 finds himself at moon oval in 2024 and he's a ripping player uh shocker red hair as well which will help him attract votes but swans of course still simpson off their shipment and swans junior program is now playing regular senior 40 kick three goals last week uh for the swans kick 24 for the year he's having a really good year as well of course last week the swans when i just have a look at it here played to churra and had a big win over tad last week that was a princess park i'll go for rochi but the swans are capable of anything but rochi at home well that's a wrap of the seniors all games getting on the way at two o'clock today not be getting uh of course the broadcast is a deacon today of course sheppen and taking on marupna we pulled to get your karaoke uh your host and add on whatkins technically we'll go to a sponsors break come out the other side and have a look at the reserves and under eight wings of the go tape gun valley league you know the garden could do with a makeover so what are you waiting for cleaves garden supplies have got everything you need to get the job done and they're open seven days a week colored mulches decorate pebbles river stones crushed rocks sand gravel sleepers topsoil's pavers you name it they've got it they'll deliver small loads and big your tuners super sad are they sport on one FM your one stop follow your sports news that's the voice of josh revins of course you can always hear joshy revins not tonight though the last two weeks he's having a bit of a break from of course to james c u uh super sad at a sports gold service but he'll be back next week uh i'll be doing it the saving light from deacon reserve james manly uh after five o'clock after the nine years at five p m let's quickly have a look at your reserves for you uh all games getting underway a midday a chucca are on top in the seniors they are undefeated coy with the nine wins in second spot roger in third spot the eight wins at your rr in four spot the six wins see more in fifth spot the six wins and shepherd and are in six spot with the five wins uh separated by percentage to the swans in seven praser brooks is the leading goal kicker this season for a chucca with 32 goals the under eight eens get underway at ten o'clock uh this morning the chucca are on top with the ten and zero record followed by a chef with the nine wins maroona in third spot seven wins swans with seven wins in full spot coy in fifth spot the six wins and rochie are in six spot with the six wins again clear and man sealed in seven your leading goal kicker in the under eight eens is tobi you would find rogerster has kicked 53 goals and represented the o and m this season not forgetting again our game today is at deacon reserve round 11 for a call sheppin and taking on maroona poor to get your karaoke hosting adam wackens technically stay tuned now for the nine news at half eight super saturday sport with marc o ands welcome to the go tape gongvelli netball show on your saturday morning of course interesting times in round ten last week we had three home sides winning and three away sides winning so a bit of an even spread their a course so let's have a look at the action today in a great all games getting underway at two 15 this afternoon sheppinan in six spot uh with the six wins he sees and six and four record take on maroona in second spot with the eight wins so maroona traveling across the calls way to take on the girls of course from harald street sheppinan and of course cracking game uh second versus sixth coach tracy tomsen's taking over following the tracy breredin era of course at sheppin and keelio doyer has been having a good year gold defense and mckenzie oh doyer wing attack has another one to look out for on the deacon reserve netball course for sheppinan the saff denoune tallie loyd uh in goal attack uh has been having a good year at maroona catlin makaitlin beg your pardon katelyn katelyn maklocklin uh gold defense for maroona under coach die hanslow has been having a cracking year as well as i say i've got a new policy to leave out of the maroona games because i'm involved with maroona just be a cracking clash and uh maroona second sheppinan six two do you think or when i wonder see more in fifth spot take on man's field in tames spot see more of the six and three record in season twenty twenty four in agrade netball take on man's field in ten spot the two wins the course under coach alie firmer mister has seen more who plays as uh gold shooter in attack there sarah sakowski the wellman metallist uh gold defense uh always plays well a cracking year again and Elijah Saunders uh has been playing in the mid court for see more and has been doing a fair job there as well man's field with their two wins uh this season have been going okay i mean considering the last couple of seasons they've had where they haven't won games under their coach alix ball who's a new coach to the club with uh of course premiership experience at a park vial she plays in goal attack as well playing coach molly reakers gold shooter and dasti crawlsford the macy wing defense there as well you think see more would be too strong but man's field had been a lot more competitive in season twenty twenty four but see more for mine there vanilla on the vanilla show ground netball court yet the win in season twenty twenty four take on tachira in third spot the seven wins and the draw two losses in amongst that as well undercoged joe toms vanilla bridging hill uh goal attack has been trying hard this season from vanilla netley prichard he's probably their star player who rolled through that mid court there the co-coaching set up a tat of step gory smith and alice boyer who both play uh i think boys in wing defense actually uh from memory molly molly boil um goal defense uh gd gold defender uh he's been having a good year jasmine praser uh has been having a good year gold keeper is a defender as well you would think with vanilla yet to win a game this season the tat with the seven wins in third spot would be just too strong let's have a look at at chuka taking on cuyabram on the port of the mari these are always really interesting clashes despite where they might be on the ladder at chuka the premier they're starting the rally after a slowie start that is season they're in full spot now with six wins three losses and a draw cuy have had the one win in eleven spot this season of course at chuka under now premiership coach from last season blend blend alice uh of course she plays in gold tat she's a playing coach steff vick will be against her old club today where she won two wellmans at cuy i think premiership's there as well is rolling through that mid court laurin jones uh has been having uh a fair crack recently defender for juka as well cuyabram on the other hand on the res hilton with the the one win for the year and that came up for the first time last week against vanilla where they won by ten goals at of course the cuyabram recreation reserve netball courts it was cuy 50 to vanilla 40 cuy will one of three home sides to win in round ten jemma hall gold defense has been having a good year micalia herbert uh gold shooter as well he's having a good year not sure what relation she is to kane and trent herbert by the way euroa uh in top spot with the nine and one record and they had their first loss to marugna on the marugna uh recreation netball courts last week 50 to 34 they went down by 16 goals coach alley walnut look i think it's just a correction in the market really for them i think they'll ultimately they will might tip to win the flag at the star of the year and even after that whilst i don't see why i should just change off them i mean one loss isn't sort of anything to not not ideal that you lose obviously but uh nine in one record they're going okay you roll that's what i'm trying to say alley walnut's the coach of course he's played with the norfease blade she's got that b&l experience uh since 2021 coach to club plays are defense goalkeeper there alley walnut me a surdermursky uh goal attack is having a good year sofio and wing defense is also having a good year at euroa united under the co-coaching setup of laura cola who was their best and fairest in 2023 she's a mid-quarter and erin houston of course that uh left central park in the kayer room and district league shepherd and east to be at united at deacon reserve in 2024 course won the flag at shepherd and east last season tam skinner gold shooters always are won the watch out for on the course for your knighted and alivia kirby in gold defense goalkeeper is having a good year i'll go for your roller to bounce back but a chukra having a chukra they are having a good year of chukra they won the premiership in the line well but your rower that's who i'm talking about uh your rower you know i did i think you know i did could serve it up to your row but i think your rower win that's what i'm trying to say got all tongue tied there long morning folks the last game of of course the agrade rodchester in nine swap the three wins the swans are in seven swap the five and five records so rachi in nine with three and seven record under coach rachael whip and win the rasmassen win the rasmassen plays gold defense i think rachael whip had something to do with the interleague this year as well till arcing uh in goal attack and ala roston uh running through that mid court having good years for rachi the swans on the other and under playing coach yana reardon uh she plays wing in attack uh ala serrillo in gold defense and maya rubberford uh in of course gold defense gold keeper as well i've been trying half of the swans in recent times and i think that they can get rachi although this is another 50-50 game rachi a building something for the future and they're they're harder to beat it moving able netball courts these days but i think the swans should win let's have a look at your b-grade forward you that's it for the agrade so in a resting week just to go through it one more time before i do go to the b-grade we've got sheppin and marutna at of course the deacon reserve netball courts seamal take on mansealed of course that's at king's park seamal netball courts banella take on to churra that is at the banella show ground netball courts all at two fifteen this afternoon i should have pointed out by the way on the portal of mary it's a chorro can pass be dabi between a chuker and cayabram your rower at memorial oval netball courts they host united and rachi on the moon oval netball courts rochester will host the sheppin and swans let's have a look now at your b-grade the agrade like i said gets underway at two fifteen this afternoon and this is what your ladder looks like in your b-grade uh round ten heading in to round eleven your rower on top with the ten wins undefeated this season marutia in second spot the seven and two record yeah they are a game uh behind everybody else they will catch that up later in the year uh in third spot shep the seven and three record though the premiers in agrade last year seamal in four spot the seven and two record rochester in fifth spot with the six and four record and the swans are in six spot the six and four record and the runners up from last year a chuker in seven spot with the six and four record separated outside the top six white percentage the runners up the chuker in b-grade last season went down the sheppin and by seven goals in b-grade all games getting underway at thirteen hundred hours one o'clock this afternoon b-reserve round ten into round eleven eleven forty five a.m will be the action for your b-reserve across all the games today seamal on top with the nine and zero record sheppin and second with the eight and two record rochester in third the seven and three record vanilla in four spot the six and four record the swans who are runners up last season in b-reserve only went down by the goal by the way to a chuker they're in fifth spot the six and four record united are in six spot the five and five record and kai in seven spot with a five and five record separated via percentage and a game clear of everybody else so it's starting to look like kai might be the only one that can get into the top six at the expense of vanilla swans or even united at this stage even tentatively they could get rochie if the stars align don't think they could though the premiers at chuker in b-reserve in ten spot for those who are tracking the premier with the threon seven record under seven eens get underway at half ten is the english light to save you've been watching royal ascott during the weeks been fantastic carnival congratulations dash furah winning on tuesday uh evening the old uh king chulls all the king stand now the king chulls are third steaks talk about that a little later the under seven eight net ball round ten in the round eleven shepherd on top they're runners up last year in the under seven eens nine and one record the swans in second spot with the nine and one record moogering third spot the nine and zero record the premiers in the under seven eens last season rochie in full swap the seven and three record chuker in fist swap the seven and three record and kai and six swap the five and five record separated by percentage is see more with the five and four record with a game that come by the way full see more and in seven spot separated by percentage like i said so it's starting to look like kai could swap for see more or kai could hold on for six and the rest should go through i dare say at this point could be wrong of course under 15s gets underway at nine 15 a.m uh this morning of course this is what it looks like round ten into round eleven you've got uh around uh not too long now you've got around 27 minutes or so and counting to get your childhood and that ball call to the under 15 uh this morning a chuker on top the premiers with the nine and one record in the under 15s the runner-ups from a root nine and zero uh runners up last season and their second this season at the nine and zero with a game in hand though uh shep and in third spot the eight and two record man children's full spot the seven and three record so they're a game ahead and uh you know they're in fifth spot the six and four record ones uh in six spot the five and five record take that back by another game ahead man sealed beg your pardon so younger 15s will look like this at you ground top nine and one mr. and second nine and zero shep and in third man sealed for united fifth the swans are six and tachura seventh separated by percentage the swans that are in six they've both got the five and five record just repeating and chuker with the premiers in the under 15s we're gonna run her up last year all games getting underway like i said at nine 15 a.m so that's a wrap ball the go tape gun belly net ball may your team win round eleven action can you believe it that uh we are round eleven of eighteen not forgetting today of course your call team will be at deacon reserve and on streamer as well for the course we have got shep and taking on maroon a poor digger jakerico is your caller host jacks and saunters is your other caller jack brophy in special comments james manly the ball in stats this afternoon adam walkins technically i'll be chiming in throughout the day doing my thing for marooner and helping out the call team where i can uh particularly in the pre match and of course like i said it's on streamer as well the game will get underway at uh two o'clock the broadcast will get underway at one 30 streamer sort of join in at a round quarter to two in the after noon of course and just repeating the final saw in the local football and that poor scoreboard service with thanks to gb ag uh james manly this evening now i believe i'm uh helping out i think jason welch is away currently i think he's up in sydney so uh it does say in the system that he's doing it this evening but i think he's away gone helping out james tonight as joss ravens has a well-earned rest uh of course last week and this week and he'll return to duties from five o'clock uh next saturday for the course the james c u football and netball scoreboard service where we look at the four big leagues across the north east at a state you know the garden could do with a makeover so what are you waiting for cleaves garden supplies have got everything you need to get the job done and they're open seven days a week covered mulch's decorative pebbles river stones crushed rocks sands gravel sleepers topsoil's pavers you name it they've got it they'll deliver small boats and big loads straight to your door drop in and see them a 20 wanganui road shepherton or give them a call
