Pastor James continues our series in the gospel of Mark, looking at Mark 8:1-21.

The Hungry Crowd Is Satisfied (8:1-10)

"And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened." - Mark 6:51-52

The Arrogant Pharisees Are Rejected (8:11-13).
The Unbelieving Disciples Are Challenged (8:14-21).

  1.  In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sufficiency?
  2. In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I trust in my own strength and sufficiency?
  3. In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to submit to Jesus’ authority?
  4. In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sovereign power over me, and over all things?

COMMUNION REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

  • In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I sense my own hard-heartedness?
  • Do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sufficiency? Do I trust too much in my own strength? Do I fail to submit to Jesus’ authority? Do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sovereign power and control?
