My name is Joshua Pinder. I am Pastor Sean and Amy Sun. And it is a privilege and an honor to be here speaking with you on this morning. And you know, serving the ministry is the greatest work ever. It is such an honor to be doing it, to be following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ himself and serving Him and serving the people of God. And it is powerful to be a servant. It is amazing to serve in the ministry. And I love it. Today, the title of this message is Trust in God. And we're gonna be reading from Daniel chapter six. But before we do, let's pray. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we cover your people in the precious blood of Jesus. We pray that you open their understanding to hear the very words of God in the name of Jesus. And God, I pray that you make this message simple, so simple enough that even a child can understand what you're saying to your people on today. God, hide me behind the cross. I pray in the name of Jesus. Let the word of God come forth with ease and simplicity. Let the people understand what you're saying on this morning, God. And help people to build their faith, to trust in you, help them to build their faith, to pray to you, every single day, and to seek after you as they should, in the name of Jesus I pray, amen. And the title of this message again is Trust in God. Such a simple title, right? Trust in God. It's 'cause that's what God wants you to do. You gotta trust Him. So, verse one, it says, "It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120 princes "which should be over the whole kingdom. "And over these three presidents of whom Daniel was first, "that the princes might give accounts unto them, "and the king should have no damage." Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because an excellent spirit was in him. That is the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. And the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Look at that, even a pagan king realized the spirit of God and Daniel's life. This is why you should represent Christ on a daily basis. We should strive to live like Christ every day. You don't know who's watching you. Anyone could be watching you, an ungodly person, someone who's not saved. Even a person of authority in the body of Christ. Anyone could be watching you. So, you need to be an example of Christ every single day. Even though ungodly was able to see God inside Daniel's life, and it would lead people eventually to Christ. And you're gonna see that here at the end. So, and verse four, then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom. But they could find none occasion nor fault for as much as he was faithful. Neither was there any error or fault found in him. And while there's some people who's happy that God is in your life, there's others who's jealous of you. There's others who want to destroy you. And there's others who, in fact, they don't even know that the excellent spirit you're carrying is the Holy Spirit. So, they're gonna come against you. But, you know, you gotta be careful. You can't let the devil get a whole of you and make you start envying others. These men let the devil drive them to a point where they start envying the Holy Spirit. They started coming against the Holy Spirit, and they were willing to murder God's servant. They're on dangerous grounds now. And in verse five, it says, then said these men, we shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. So now they're trying to use God to mess with him and get him screwed up, so now they're really messing up. And in verse six, it says, then these presidents and princes assemble together to the king and said thus unto him, King Darius, live forever. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors and the princes, the counselors and the captains have consulted together to establish a royal statue and to make a firm decree that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for 30 days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing that it may be not changed according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, which alter if not, the law doesn't change. Wherefore, King Darius signed the writing and the decree. And now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house with his windows being open, his chamber towards Jerusalem. He nailed upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks to God as he did a four time. A four time means as he did previously. You see, Daniel wasn't gonna compromise. He wasn't gonna lower his standards just because of the law of change. You know, the king was the most powerful man of earth on this time, but even though the king himself was against Daniel, Daniel, it didn't matter to Daniel because Daniel trusted in God. We need to learn to trust in God the way Daniel did and be shameless in our faith no matter what. We need to trust in God. And verse 11, it says, "These men assembled "and they found Daniel praying and making supplication "before his God." That's a good place to be in. Your enemies even see you praying. And in verse 12, it says, "Then they came there "and they spake before the king concerning the king's decree. "As thou not signed into the decree, "that every man that shall ask a petition "of any God or man within 30 days, "save of thee, O king, shall be cast "into the den of lions." The king answered and said, "The thing is true "according to the law of the means and the Persians, "which alter if not." Then to they and said before the king that, "That Daniel, which is of the children "of the captivity of Judah, "he regard of not thee, O king, "he is an obeying your law. "Know the decree that thou hast signed, "but he makeeth his petition three times a day. "He's praying of God three times a day. "And when the king heard these words, "he was so displeased with himself, "and he set his heart on Daniel to deliver him. "And he labored till the going down of the sun "to deliver him. "Then these men assembled into the king "and said into the king, "no O king, that the law of the means and the Persians "is, that no decree or statue "which the king established may be changed. "Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, "and they cast him into the den of lions." Now the king speaking said into Daniel, "Thy God whom thou serviced continually, "he will deliver thee." Wait a second, when did this king trust and guide? You see them fluence Daniel was having already? The king's already trusting God suddenly now. So you see, in verse 17, "And a stone was brought, "and they later upon the mouth of the den, "and the king silt it with his own signant, "and with the signal of his lords, "that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel. "Then the king went to his palace, "and he passed the night fasting. "Neither were instruments of music proper form, "and his sleep went from him. "God is taking away someone's sleep on your behalf. "You may think you're in this alone, "but God has someone praying for you. "God has people interceding for you. "He has people fasting for you. "So just don't give up trusting God. "He's messing with the people in power. "He's taking away their sleep. "He has them worried about you." Verse 19, "Then the king arose very early in the morning, "and he went and hastened to the den of lions. "And when he came to the den, "he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel, "and the king speak and said to Daniel, "O Daniel, serving of the living God, is thy God, "whom thou service continually able to deliver thee "from the lions, even the king noticed "that Daniel served God continually." And verse 21, it said, "Then said Daniel into the king, "O king, live forever. "My God has sent his angel, and he shut the lion's mouths, "that they have not hurt me. "For as much as before him, in a sense he was found in me. "And also before thee, O king, I have done no hurt. "And why did this happen? "It's because Daniel trusted God above everything else. "He was able to stay a whole night in the lion's den safely. "He was unharmed. "Even in the midst of your darkest hour, God is with you. "He's with you no matter what, "no matter what you're going through, "no matter how the circumstances change. "Those things may seem to take a turn for the worse. "God is with you. "He is there for you, and he loves you, "and he's looking after you, and he's watching you, "because you're his child. "God is still there for you. "He's working things together for your good. "And Daniel was able to face one of the toughest situations "of his life, because he trusted in God. "And here's something I don't want you to miss. "This wasn't random that Daniel was ready for the lions den. "This isn't just, he was just suddenly prepared." "No, no, no. "Daniel was praying every single day. "He had a firm relationship with God. "This was his lifestyle. "He's revving Scott all his life. "This is why he was bold enough to not be afraid "in the king's presence, the most powerful man of his time. "This is why he was able to pray openly, "even when he knew it would mean a certain death for him. "He prayed openly, because this was his lifestyle. "And if we look back in Daniel chapter one, "we'll see from when he was first captured in Babylon. "He stood his ground, he didn't compromise. "Daniel chapter one, verse eight says, "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not "to file himself with the portion of the king's meat, "nor if the wine which he drank. "Therefore, he requested of the prince of the Annunks "that he might not to file himself. "You see, Daniel decided not to eat the king's food, "because some of it was forbidden by the Jewish law. "Even foods like pork, you know. "It was considered a refinement. "But the point with this is, although Daniel lived "in a culture that was not honoring God, "he still obeyed God's laws despite the circumstances. "So he was used to standing up for the right thing. "And we also see in chapter two, "when King Nebuchadnezzar sentenced him "in all the wise men of death, that he stood his ground. "And he went to the king and he acts for time, "because he knew that God would answer him. "Daniel chapter two, verse 14 through 16. "Then Daniel answered with counsel and whizzed him "to arioc the captain of the king's guard, "which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon. "He answered and said arioc the king's captain, "why is the decree so hasty from the king? "Then Eric made the thing known to Daniel. "So Daniel went in and desired that the king "would give him time. "And he would show the king the interpretation. "And Daniel and his friends, they stayed up all night "in prayer seeking God for an answer. "And sure enough, God honored their faith. "And Daniel was able to rehearse the king's dream back "to him and give the interpretation it. "So you see, Daniel stood in the face of death "several times before. "This was nothing new to him. "This is why he was able to just boldly defy "the king's orders because he had faith in God. "And he knew that God would answer him "and that God would bring him out of his struggles. "And today I wanna remind you that God is there with you. "He is gonna bring you out through whatever you're going through "because he is the ultimate God. "He is almighty, he is watching over you "and he is taking care of you. "So do not be afraid, be encouraged. "God is with you and he is looking after you. "So you see, that's why Daniel was not compromising. "That's why he was firm. "That's why he was trusting God "because he was a man of prayer. "And he continued praying because his faith in God was strong "and God never felt him in the past. "And he knew God would never feel him "because God never felt. "So trusting God. "And in verse 23, then was the king "exciting glad for him and commanded that they should take "Daniel up out of the den. "So Daniel was taken up out of the den "and no matter if hurt was found upon him "because he believed in his God. "And the king commanded and they brought those men "which had accused Daniel and they cast them "into the den of lions. "Then their children and their wives "and the lions had the mastery of them "and break all their bones and pieces "before they ever came to the bomb of the den. "You know what the Bible says? "No weapon formed against you saw prosperous "and every tongue that rises against you in judgment. "It shall be condemned. "The very people who are conspiring against you, "the very people who are plotting your downfall, "they will fall into their own trap. "God will deal with them. "This isn't your battle. "This is God's battle. "So trusting God." And in verse 25, it says, "Then King Darius, "he wrote unto all the people, nations, "and languages that dwell in all the earth. "Peace be multiplied unto you. "I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom "and tremble and fare before the God of Daniel, "for he is the living God, instead fast forever. "And his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, "and his dominion shall be even unto the end. "He deliverth and he rescueth, "and he work of signs and wonders in heaven and earth "who have delivered Daniel from the power of the lions." What a testimony. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. Why? Because Daniel stood strong in his faith. The whole nation would serve God because of the way Daniel trusted in his God. A whole entire nation, think of it, they're turning from their wicked ways because they saw the might and the power of the true and living God. You may never know who gets influenced by your walk with God. You see the power of that? Because Daniel had a strong relationship with God, a whole entire nation turning to God, look at that. You need to trust in God no matter what the circumstances you are facing are, no matter who's coming against you, no matter what they're saying against you, you need to trust in God. And one thing I want to point out is that Daniel was not fighting for himself. He didn't just complain, he had the king's heirs, right? He didn't just run to the king and complain and try to deal with things himself. As powerful as he was, he didn't try to give rid of the men himself. He trusted in God and in fact, he didn't say one thing to those guys throughout this chapter, you see. All he did was trust God and he prayed like he always did and God looked after him. God took care of him. God, God, revenge on his enemies because vengeance his minds as the Lord. So you need to trust in God. It's just important that you keep praying, you keep trusting God and he will come through for you. Let's close in prayer. Father God, in the name of Jesus, you said no weapon formed against us will prosper, but every tongue that rises against us in judgment, you will condemn it God, condemn it God, cancel the plans of the enemy, cover your people God, cover your people in the precious blood of Jesus. God, what the enemy meant for evil, you turned it for good. God with Daniel, the people tried to get him arrested, they tried to get him killed, but in the end, a whole nation saw the faith of Daniel and a whole nation came to God. And God, I pray in the name of Jesus, whatever we are going through, whatever circumstance that we see the God in this circumstance, God, and that you would bring us through just as you've done throughout this whole entire Bible, you brought Moses through God, you brought Joseph through, you brought Eve him through, and you brought Daniel through, you brought Meshach, Ratchach, and Abinocle through the fire God, you took Daniel out of the lion's den, and God always, as you were with Daniel, so you're with us God, and God, I pray that your people recognizes that God is with them in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen, and before I close this morning prayer, I just want to give someone a chance to give their life to Jesus. Maybe you were raised in a Christian home, but you just haven't trusted God the way you should, or maybe you just never trusted God at all, but now you feel that you need to. God is always there for you. You know, John 3, 16 says, "For God still loved the word that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the word through him might be saved. If you want to accept Jesus today, pray this prayer. Father God, I believe in my heart, and I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ died on Calvary Cross for me. He was beaten, he was buried, he was bruised, and ultimately crucified. But on the third day, he rolls again, he conquered death hell in the grave, and he did this for me so that I could be saved, so that when I die, I could enter into heaven. Thank you, God, for forgiving me, for loving me, and for writing my name down in the Lamb's Book of Life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen, if you pray that prayer, welcome into the kingdom of God. Type a little in the comments. I gave my life to Jesus. And I want to encourage you, pray every single day, pray to God, pray multiple times a day to God, pray to him always. The Bible says, "Pray without seasoning." And then I encourage you to download the salvation booklet on the screen. It will encourage you, it will help you and guide you, and it will tell you some of the first things you should do as a newborn Christian. And lastly, I encourage you to join a local church.
