Saul had been a fierce enemy of the Christians, but Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus, and Saul was converted. Immediately, Saul began preaching in the synagogues that Jesus was the Son of God. The Jews could not refute him, so they plotted to kill him, but Satan’s plan had failed again. Saul was warned of their scheme, and he was let down over the city wall in a basket.
