Well, maybe somebody else decided it for him, but he is out and it looks like Kamala Harris is coming in Gary welcoming Thanks for being here With you thanks for having me on so I wanted to get your thoughts as a member of Congress here And you know just maybe maybe this wasn't all about we've got to get somebody better to run for president than Joe Biden Maybe this has to do with you know saving seats down ballot You know in other words the polling's kind of revealed that Kamala Harris really doesn't Match up any better than Joe Biden does, but maybe it's just enough to salvage seats right now I mean we could see a flip in the Senate in the house I mean does this have an impact on that well, I think Of course in Joe Biden out definitely did because they were seeing the same numbers we were and it was going to be a rough election for Democrats How it plays out now whether it's Kamala Harris or or somebody else Remains to be seen and what I've tried to tell everybody JT is we've got about four months Maybe a little less Well about four months before the election and this thing's not over. Oh, I know it's not over That's for sure. There's a lot to do still but what when it comes to the Congress Do you see this changing the dichotomy of the votes there and the changing of the guard as far as you know Republicans probably get in the Senate, but could we lose the the house? I don't think we'll lose the house, and I think we'll get the Senate The question was how many seats would we pick up? But again, I don't take anything for granted And I think we've got to run through the tape as they say in racing but What's going to be interesting here is more than not they throw Kamala overboard as well There's several there's like 90 something million dollars out there that That we'll have to go somewhere else and if they don't put Kamala on us as the presidential nominee That's that's pocket change and but they would use that money down ballot through outside groups through the democratic National Committee So there's a lot of a lot of calculations being made right now about how they're going to handle this and if they do push Kamala out the only candidate that I could think of that might be acceptable to them would be Michelle Obama and I in the minute respects I think It really exposes the fact that this was really Obama's third term Biden has never been in charge say to you ever and I just don't know if the country wants to fourth Obama term Yeah, good point, but I tell you what boy would that electrify the democratic base of all of a sudden Michelle says alright for the team I'll come back. I mean she has said time and time again. I'm not into it. I don't like DC I don't like politics. We're fine where we are. We've got enough money We could be more effective behind the scenes instead of having the microscope on the presidency Barack, I mean clearly still active and can get more done. He thinks I think he thinks that more done in the background They can in the foreground again, although it brings you know him back to the White House And you know if he's sleeping on the other side of the bed this should go around He still gets to lay down and talk to the president his wife if in fact she does win that but Let's talk about the potential For the Democratic Party just to concede are they in the background thinking all right? We've really got to do some regrouping here Kamala clearly is not strong But she is the VP we can't pass on her because of so many different caveats So we got to go with her And they see the numbers in the momentum with Donald Trump I know it's been close as far as the numbers go is 53 to 47, you know with Trump leading in a lot of the battleground states What do you think their strategy is right now to really force Kamala and make her a factor in? win the White House or Where do you think this ends up well first and foremost? I think that Biden needs to resign as president The information that was coming out of some of my colleagues that he didn't recognize people who didn't know names That's not the guy that you want to be at the helm of the most powerful nation in the world and So I think first foremost. That's what people need to be I'm talking about as far as How this impacts things down ballot? I think they all know that they're in big trouble and and there are some suggestions that maybe they ought to just let Kamala run Let it play out. I have it plays out regroup and and realize that Donald Trump will only be president for four years and And and then they would target the midterm election next year in 26 that's kind of where I'm on this thing that they're they're really not you know They're gonna put up a good fight to good front make it look like they really want to push her and you know Let's make it happen here But back in the way back of their minds are thinking okay look we got a prep for like you said the midterms and 2028 well Gary. I appreciate you work. Yeah, go ahead one last thought Yeah, we'll just look at how powerful Biden's been behind the scenes all of us redistricting including Alabama But Biden Eric Holder and folks like that look at the regulations that have come out the executive orders Biden didn't write those right People just need to realize we've just gone through the third Obama term totally agree could not agree more Thanks Gary.
